Abstract

Edible mushrooms, including cultivated and wild mushroom, are highly susceptible to absorption and accumulation of metal(loid)s from soils. Mercury (Hg) and arsenic (As) are typical toxic metal(loid)s in soils, which are readily absorbed by edible mushrooms, transported and enriched via the food chain and finally enters the human body, posing potential risks to food safety. The accumulation and potential risks of As and Hg in edible mushrooms (especially wild mushrooms) have attracted increasing attention, but a systematic review on their pollution characteristics and absorption mechanisms is lacking. Therefore, this paper reviews the concentrations and distribution characteristics (in the cap and stipe) of As and Hg in cultivated and wild mushrooms, with a focus on the accumulation ability, transportation ability and uptake modes (passive adsorption on the cell surface and active uptake within cells), which provides basic information for comparative analysis of differences in As and Hg absorption, enrichment and distribution between cultivated and wild mushrooms, and provide theoretical support for in-depth studies on the process and mechanism of metal(loid)s accumulation in edible mushrooms. This review is of practical significance for the prevention and control of the risk of heavy metals accumulation in edible mushrooms and for protecting the safety of edible mushrooms.

Abstract

This paper summarized the nursing experience of a pediatric patient with acute tonsillitis and sore throat treated by Miya jar moving-cupping therapy in anterior cervical region. Key issues of nursing included nursing assessment, standard procedure of moving-cupping therapy in anterior cervical region and related health education. Under the guidance of the nursing by Traditional Chinese medicine syndrome differentiation, cupping therapy by moving Miya jar in anterior cervical region is effective to relieve the clinical symptom and improve the recovery of pediatric patients with acute tonsillitis and sore throat. (本文总结1例蜜芽罐咽部走罐治疗小儿急性扁桃体炎咽痛的护理经验, 包括护理评估方案、咽部走罐操作方法以及常规健康宣教等。基于中医辨证施护护理理论, 采取咽部走罐疗法, 能有效缓解小儿咽痛症状, 对促进患儿康复有积极作用。)

Abstract

This study involved the development of mathematical linear regression models to describe the relationships between mean plant biomass (M) and population density (D), M and frond diameter (L), frond numbers (N) and L of Lemna minor under different initial population densities (3200, 4450, and 6400 plants/m2), respectively, from the perspective of the self-thinning law. Our results revealed that the value of the allometric exponents for M and D were − 3/2. Further, the concentrations of Zn, Pb, Cu, Fe, and Ni accumulated in L. minor plants were 0.86, 0.32, 0.36, 0.62, and 0.39 mg/kg, respectively. Based on these developed equations and the heavy metal accumulations by L. minor, the phytoremediation capacity of L. minor was quantified via its frond diameters. Overall, the present study provides a cost-effective green method for managing the phytoremediation of heavy metal-contaminated aquatic environments.

47. Elevated CO2 shifts soil microbial communities from K‐ to r‐strategists.

Abstract

Aims: Soil microbes are key to myriad processes in terrestrial ecosystems. Elevated CO2 represents a dominant driver of global climate change; however, it remains unclear to what extent elevated CO2 impacts soil microbial communities at ecosystem and global scales. Here, we sought to address the following questions: (a) Do the compositions of microbial communities shift from K‐ to r‐strategists under elevated CO2? (b) What is the extent of the compositional shifts of microbial communities affected by elevated CO2 concentrations, experimental duration, ecosystem types and/or background climates? (c) Are the responses of microbial communities to elevated CO2 associated with changes in soil pH and carbon and nitrogen availabilities? Location: Global. Time period: 1998–2020. Major taxa studied: Soil microbes. Methods: We performed a global meta‐analysis of 965 observations from 122 studies, which tested the effects of elevated CO2 on microbial communities. The data covered broad variations in ecosystems, climate, CO2 concentrations, experimental duration, and soil factors. Results: We revealed that elevated CO2 decreased the K‐ to r‐strategist ratios with decreasing fungi : bacteria, Gram+ : Gram– bacteria, and Acidobacteria : Proteobacteria ratios, and increased bacterial biomass, microbial biomass carbon, Gram– bacteria, and Acidobacteria abundance. Moreover, the shifts from K‐ to r‐strategists were more pronounced under higher CO2 concentrations and longer experimental durations. The responses of microbial attributes to elevated CO2 did not differ significantly among croplands, forests and grasslands. Furthermore, the response of microbial biomass to elevated CO2 was negatively correlated with the response of soil pH, while those of bacterial biomass and fungi : bacteria ratios were positively correlated with those of soil organic carbon and soil carbon : nitrogen ratios, respectively. Main conclusions: Our results suggest that elevated CO2 shifts soil microbial communities from K‐ to r‐strategists, and provide supportive evidence for understanding responses of soil microbial processes to elevated CO2. Abstract

In recent years, the parking problem is getting incresingly worse. Using information technology to improve the use of parking spaces will be an important method to deal with the parking problem. In this paper, an unattended self parking system based on intelligent parking lock combining Internet of Things technology and traditional parking lock is designed, in which GPRS communication, third-party payment and other core technology are used to realize remote automation and management of parking. The structure of the system includes the cloud server, the intelligent parking lock, third-party payment server, parking owners client, database and parking users. The intelligent parking lock is connected to the remote cloud server by GPRS, and socket heartbeat mechanism is utilized to improve the reliability of network communication. It is not necessary to download a dedicated APP or register, third-party payment APP (e.g Alipay or Wechat) can be used to pay the parking fee. Therefore, the system is convenient as well as efficient to use.
