Abstract

Modern cloud has turned data services into easily accessible commodities. With just a few clicks, users are now able to access a catalog of data processing systems for a wide range of tasks. However, the cloud brings in both complexity and opportunity. While cloud users can quickly start an application by using various data services, it can be difficult to configure and optimize these services to gain the most value from them. For cloud providers, managing every aspect of an ever-increasing set of data services, while meeting customer SLAs and minimizing operational cost is becoming more challenging. Cloud technology enables the collection of significant amounts of workload traces and system telemetry. With the progress in data science (DS) and machine learning (ML), it is feasible and desirable to utilize a data-driven, ML-based approach to automate various aspects of data services, resulting in the creation of autonomous data services. This paper presents our perspectives and insights on creating autonomous data services on Azure. Abstract

Nanostructured TiO2 thin films were prepared by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) on indium doped tin oxide (ITO) substrates. Results from X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) show that Ti 2p core level peaks shift toward the lower binding energy with decrease in the buffer gas pressure (O2:Ar = 1:1). This suggests that oxygen vacancies are created under insufficient oxygen conditions. Anatase to rutile ratio is also found to be system pressure dependent. Under deposition pressure of 750 mTorr only anatase phase was observed even at 1073 K substrate temperature which is much higher that the bulk anatase to rutile phase transformation temperature. The deposited TiO2 thin films were fabricated as photoanodes for photoelectrochemical (PEC) studies. PEC measurements on TiO2 photoanodes show that the flatband potential (Vfb) increases by 0.088 eV on absolute vacuum energy scale (AVS) with decrease in the deposition pressure, from 750 to 250 mTorr at 873K. The highest incident photon to current conversion efficiency [IPCE(lambda)] of 2.5 to 6 % was obtained from the thin films prepared at substrate temperature of 873K. Combining the results from XPS and PEC studies, we conclude that the deposition pressure affects the concentration of the oxygen vacancies which changes the electronic structure of the TiO2. With reference to photoelectrochemical catalytic performance, our results suggest that it is possible to adjust the Fermi energy level and structure of TiO2 thin films by controlling the buffer gas pressure and temperature to align the energy of the flatband potential (Vfb) with respect to specific redox species in the electrolyte., Comment: 26 pages with 6 figures

Abstract

It remains unclear whether basophils and mast cells are derived from a common progenitor. Furthermore, how basophil versus mast cell fate is specified has not been investigated. Here, we have identified a population of granulocyte-macrophage progenitors (GMPs) that were highly enriched in the capacity to differentiate into basophils and mast cells while retaining a limited capacity to differentiate into myeloid cells. We have designated these progenitor cells "pre-basophil and mast cell progenitors" (pre-BMPs). STAT5 signaling was required for the differentiation of pre-BMPs into both basophils and mast cells and was critical for inducing two downstream molecules: C/EBPα and MITF. We have identified C/EBPα as the critical basophil transcription factor for specifying basophil cell fate and MITF as the crucial transcription factor for specifying mast cell fate. C/EBPα and MITF silenced each other's transcription in a directly antagonistic fashion. Our study reveals how basophil and mast cell fate is specified.

In order to improve the machining accuracy and stability of the steel cage welding machine and reduce the production cost of the transmission parts,a movable disk walking device is designed. The main core component of the device is a chain transmission mechanism,comprises two chains fixed on the lower track of the movable disk and two groups of sprockets arranged on the side wall of the movable disk base and are mutually mirror symmetrical,wherein each group of sprocket wheels comprises a driving sprocket and two supporting sprockets. In the process of movement,the chain is fixed on the pendulous track,unable to move relatively,drives the disc in a straight line. The prototype test shows that the device has the characteristics of smooth operation,high transmission efficiency,portability and easy installation.

Abstract

[Purpose/significance] The paper introduces a new approach to automatically detect stance in Chinese microblogs by building a serial combination model based on Sentiment Weighted Algorithm and Naive Bayes (SWNB model). [Method/process] Firstly, this paper used the SWNB model to simplify complex sentences by using a defined complex sentence pattern, assigning a sentiment weight to each microblog according to calculation rules, and optimizing sentiment weight by detecting the presence of the target’s associated entities; thus, we could classify microblogs into those containing any stance or with no stance at all. Secondly, the SWNB model extracted some feature words and used Naive Bayes to classify the microblogs labeled as FAVOR or AGAINST. [Result/conclusion] Experiments show that this model can comprehensively process complex sentences, target-related entities and linguistic context.

In order to improve the efficiency of rolling welder for steel bar cage,a welding machine with capturing and tracking is proposed,considering the motion characteristics of solder joints formed by the joint of stirrup and the main reinforcement. The device includes two parts,which control the movement of the vertical and horizontal direction of the welding torch. The pneumatic control mode is used to control the motion of the welding torch in the plane with the interaction between the induction switch and touch panel. The device has the characteristics of automatic capture to the solder joint,and it can also track the solder joint after the capture,the automatic level and production efficiency of the steel bar cage welding is improved.

Abstract

In order to study the crack resistance of concrete lining in bored tunnel engineering, the test was carried out in a project. The results show that, the concrete prepared by fiber crack resistant composite materials has good anti-crack and antiseepage performance. The compressive strength of 7 d and 28 d age was basically the same as that of control concrete, the splitting tensile strength increased by 7.5% to 11.4%, the flexural strength increased by 11.6% to 12.3%, and the impermeability grade increased from P8 to P12. The monitoring data of the secondary lining concrete of the solid structure of the underground excavation tunnel project show that when the average thickness is 450 mm, the time of the steel formwork with the mold should be extended by 1~2 d or 1~2 d thermal insulation maintenance should be added after the removal of the formwork, so that the reduction rate of the first three days of the cooling stage is controlled within 5°C/d, which can further reduce the early temperature shrinkage. The maximum microstrain value of the solid structure about 104 µε after the early temperature correction, and it was reduced to -72 µε~-13 µε after two weeks. The early good crack resistance can effectively reduce the risk of non-structural shrinkage cracking. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
