World's first 1.3 GHz cryomodule containing eight 9-cell superconducting radio-frequency (RF) cavities treated by medium-temperature furnace baking (mid-T bake) was developed, assembled and tested at IHEP for the Dalian Advanced Light Source (DALS) and CEPC R&D. The 9-cell cavities in the cryomodule achieved an unprecedented highest average Q0 of 3.8E10 at 16 MV/m and 3.6E10 at 21 MV/m in the horizontal test. The cryomodule can operate stably up to a total CW RF voltage greater than 191 MV, with an average cavity CW accelerating gradient of more than 23 MV/m. The results significantly exceed the specifications of CEPC, DALS and the other high repetition rate free electron laser facilities (LCLS-II, LCLS-II-HE, SHINE, S3FEL). There is evidence that the mid-T bake cavity may not require fast cool-down or long processing time in the cryomodule. Iron-based superconductors offer an ideal platform for studying topological superconductivity and Majorana fermions. In this paper, we carry out a comprehensive study of the band topology and topological surface states of a number of iron-based superconductors using a combination of density functional theory (DFT) and dynamical mean field theory. We find that the strong electronic correlation of Fe 3d electrons plays a crucial role in determining the band topology and topological surface states of iron-based superconductors. Electronic correlation not only strongly renormalizes the bandwidth of Fe 3d electrons, but also shifts the band positions of both Fe 3d and As/Se p electrons. As a result, electronic correlation moves the DFT-calculated topological surface states of many iron-based superconductors much closer to the Fermi level, which is crucial for realizing topological superconducting surface states and observing Majorana zero modes as well as achieving practical applications, such as quantum computation. More importantly, electronic correlation can change the band topology and make some iron-based superconductors topologically nontrivial with topological surface states whereas they have trivial band topology and no topological surface states in DFT calculations. CrI3 is a two-dimensional ferromagnetic van der Waals material with a charge gap of 1.1-1.2 eV. In this study, the electronic structure and magnetism of CrI3 are investigated by using density functional theory and dynamical mean-field theory. Our calculations successfully reproduce a charge gap of 1.1 eV in the paramagnetic state when a Hund coupling JH = 0.7 eV is included with an on-site Hubbard U = 5 eV. In contrast, with a large U value of 8 eV and negligible Hund coupling JH, CrI3 is predicted to be a moderately correlated metal in the paramagnetic state. We conclude that CrI3 is a Mott-Hund insulator due to the half-filled configuration of the Cr 3d t2g orbitals. The Cr 3d eg orbitals are occupied by approximately one electron, which leads to strong valence fluctuations so that the Cr 3d orbitals cannot be described by a single state. Moreover, at finite temperature, the calculated ordered static magnetic moment in the ferromagnetic state is significantly larger in the R3 phase than in the C2/m phase. This observation indicates that the structural phase transition from the C2/m phase to the R3 phase with decreasing temperature is driven by ferromagnetic spin fluctuations., Comment: 17 pages,6 figures

The electronic structure, lattice dynamics, and electron-phonon coupling (EPC) of the newly discovered (Ba,K)SbO$_3$ superconductors are investigated by first-principles calculations. The EPC of (Ba,K)SbO$_3$ is significantly enhanced by considering non-local electronic correlation using the Heyd-Scuseria-Ernzerhof hybrid exchange-correlation functional (HSE06). The EPC strength {\lambda} of Ba$_{0.35}$K$_{0.65}$SbO$_3$ is strongly increased from 0.33 in local-density approximation calculations to 0.59 in HSE06 calculations, resulting in a superconducting transition temperature Tc of about 14.9 K, which is in excellent agreement with experimental value of ~ 15 K. Our findings suggest (Ba,K)SbO$_3$ are extraordinary conventional superconductors, where non-local electronic correlation expands the bandwidth, enhances the EPC, and boosts the Tc. Moreover, we find both {\lambda} and Tc depend crucially on the K-doping level for (Ba,K)SbO$_3$ and (Ba,K)SbO$_3$ compounds. The electronic structures and topological properties of the orthorhombic and monoclinic phases of the quasi-one-dimensional excitonic insulator Ta2NiSe5 are investigated based on density functional theory. In contrast to a single parity or band inversion across the Fermi level in many topological insulators studied previously, there are multiple parity and band inversions with or without spin-orbit coupling in both phases of Ta2NiSe5, resulting in more complex and topologically nontrivial electronic structures. The Dirac cone type surface states of the low-temperature monoclinic phase are also obtained. A new layered compound LaOTlF2 is designed and investigated using first-principles calculations in this work. The parent compound is an insulator with an indirect band gap of 2.65 eV. Electron-doping of the parent compound makes the material metallic. In the meantime, several lattice vibrational modes couple strongly to the conduction band, leading to a large electron-phonon coupling constant and conventional superconductivity. The highest superconducting transition temperature Tc is predicted to be approximately 8.6 K with {\lambda} about 1.25 in the optimally doped LaO0.95F0.05TlF2, where {\lambda} is calculated using the Wannier interpolation technique., Comment: 7 pages, 7 figures

The CW RF test of 1.3 GHz 9-cell cavity in liquid helium bath at 2 K is a very important key point in the cavity procurement. Some problems can be found through the test, according which to optimized and improve the process of cavity. Recently, Medium temperature (mid-T) furnace bake of 1.3 GHz 9-cell cavities have been carried out at IHEP. Through the proceed of mid-T bake, the quality factor of cavity has been greatly improved. While the excitation of the parasitic modes in the high Q cavities CW cold test has been encountered, which implies an error source for the cavity gradient and quality factor determination. In order to ensure the testing accuracy of superconducting cavity, we have improved the testing system. Finally, the parasitic mode is completely suppressed and the CW RF cold test of high Q cavity is guaranteed.

Layered kagome-lattice 3d transition metals are emerging as an exciting platform to explore the frustrated lattice geometry and quantum topology. However, the typical kagome electronic bands, characterized by sets of the Dirac-like band capped by a phase-destructive flat band, have not been clearly observed, and their orbital physics are even less well investigated. Here, we present close-to-textbook kagome bands with orbital differentiation physics in CoSn, which can be well described by a minimal tight-binding model with single-orbital hopping in Co kagome lattice. The capping flat bands with bandwidth less than 0.2 eV run through the whole Brillouin zone, especially the bandwidth of the flat band of out-of-plane orbitals is less than 0.02 eV along G-M. The energy gap induced by spin-orbit interaction at the Dirac cone of out-of-plane orbitals is much smaller than that of in-plane orbitals, suggesting orbital-selective character of the Dirac fermions.

Recently, iron-chalcogenide superconductors have emerged as a new and promising platform for studying and manipulating Majorana zero mode (MZM). By combining topological band structure and superconductivity in a multiband material, they provide significant advantages such as higher superconducting transition temperature (Tc) and isolated Majorana mode. However, iron-chalcogenide superconductors, especially Fe(Te,Se), suffer from strong inhomogeneity which may hamper their practical application. On the other hand, some iron-pnictide (Fe-As) superconductors, such as LiFeAs, have been demonstrated to have a similar topological band structure, yet no MZM has been observed in its vortex cores, raising a question of universality of MZM presence in iron-based superconductors. In this work, by using high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy, we identify the first Fe-As superconductor CaKFe4As4 (Tc = 35 K) which has both the superconducting Dirac surface states and the MZMs inside its vortex cores. The topological band inversion is largely due to the down-shift of the pz band caused by the bilayer band folding in this material. More strikingly, the energies and spatial line profiles of MZM and multiple quantized Caroli-de Gennes-Matricon bound states observed inside the topological vortex can be accurately reproduced by a simple theoretical model derived from a surface Dirac cone, firmly establishing Majorana nature of the zero mode.
