3. A Hamiltonian Approach to Floating Barrier Option Pricing

Abstract

Hamiltonian approach in quantum mechanics provides a new thinking for barrier option pricing. For proportional floating barrier step options, the option price changing process is similar to the one dimensional trapezoid potential barrier scattering problem in quantum mechanics; for floating double-barrier step options, the option price changing process is analogous to a particle moving in a finite symmetric square potential well. Using Hamiltonian methodology, the analytical expressions of pricing kernel and option price could be derived. Numerical results of option price as a function of underlying price, floating rate, interest rate and exercise price are shown, which are consistent with the results given by mathematical calculations., Comment: 26 pages, 5 figures

Abstract

According to the structure/property characteristics of polyacids, the design and synthesis of new inorganic organic hybrid materials based on POMs is of great significance for the rapid and effective removal of pollutants in wastewater. In addition, many researchers have synthesized a large number of POMs-based inorganic organic hybrid compounds with organic cations as templates. Based on the above background, in this article, a new supramolecular compound named o-[C20H18N2O4][Mo8O26]0.5.H2O was obtained through hydrothermal method by reacting 1, 2-bis[4-nitrile-pyridine)-N-methylene]phenyldibromide (L1) with (NH4)6Mo7O24.4H2O. The compound was characterized by IR, PXRD, and single crystal X-ray analysis. Single crystal X-ray analysis shows that the compound consists of a [β-Mo8O26] 2–, a dicarboxylic acid chelating ligand and a water molecule. This compound exhibits good catalytic activity towards MB. The degradation rate of MB by photocatalysis of compound 1 was 75.2%. The novelty of this work lies in the synthesis of a cyano-hydrolyzed ligand and the high efficiency of MB degradation of the compound. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

AbstractTo elucidate the horizontal bearing mechanism of distributed postside-grouted piles in sandy soil, this study undertakes comparative model tests on ungrouted piles, annular spot-grouted piles, and distributed grouted piles. Additionally, excavation tests and transparent soil experiments are conducted to analyze the diffusion behavior of injected cement grout, thereby illustrating the horizontal bearing mechanism of post-grouted piles. The results show that compared to annular spot-grouting, distributed post-grouting can effectively reform the coefficient of horizontal resistance (m) which recommended range is determined to be 9.0 to 12.7 MN/m4 and enhance the soil strength around the upper part of the pile, improving load transmission and the distribution of bending moments, thereby controlling lateral displacement of the pile shaft and improving the lateral earth resistance on piles. Furthermore, excavation tests and transparent soil experiments demonstrate that grout in sandy soil disseminates through compaction-type diffusion. Notably, distributed grouted piles exhibit more uniform grout coverage, forming a more comprehensive cover layer and exhibiting a more pronounced radial expansion effect. Additionally, the analysis of the horizontal bearing mechanism further confirms the test conclusions, providing theoretical support for the horizontal bearing mechanism of the distributed postside-grouted pile in sandy soil and facilitating practical engineering applications.
