High Chern number topological insulators can be obtained in a film of layered magnetic block system theoretically and experimentally. With nonzero Chern numbers, Chern insulators become valuable for fundamental topological physics and for improving next-generation electronic devices. We study energy and angular momentum radiation from layered topological insulators using the Dirac Fermion approach and by Green's function method. We make a connection between radiation magnitude and topological phase transitions. We find that the magnetic exchange field, intra-layer coupling, and inter-layer interaction are efficient measures to modify the energy radiation of layered topological materials. PbTiO 3 is a prototypical ferroelectric perovskite that is known to undergo a temperature driven ferroelectric tetragonal to paraelectric cubic phase transition, but the understanding of some key phenomena and associated mechanisms underlying this transition remains unclear. Here, using molecular dynamics simulations based on first-principles effective Hamiltonian, we show the behaviors of the phase transition temperature T c and adiabatic temperature change Δ T of PbTiO 3 under an external electric field and tensile stress along the [001] direction. Our results show that the electric field E induces rising T c via a linear relation T c ∝ 0.3083 E , rendering the phase transition to go from first-order with thermal hysteresis to second-order without thermal hysteresis above ∼ 200 kV/cm; meanwhile, a maximum electrocaloric response Δ T m a x ∼ 34 K is obtained under E = 500 kV/cm. Moreover, external stress (σ z) causes rising T c via a linear relation T c ∝ 160 σ z and improves the electrocaloric response Δ T m a x when combined with the electric field. The present results offer insights into the physical processes and mechanisms that dictate finite-temperature properties of ferroelectric perovskite oxides, laying a foundation for further exploration of this intriguing class of materials. Water dissociation on TiO2 surfaces has been known for decades and holds great potential in various applications, many of which require a proper understanding of thermal transport across the TiO2–H2O interface. Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations play an important role in characterizing complex systems' interfacial thermal transport properties. Nevertheless, due to the imprecision of empirical force field potentials, the interfacial thermal transport mechanism involving water dissociation remains to be determined. To cope with this, a deep potential (DP) model is formulated through the utilization of ab initio datasets. This model successfully simulates interfacial thermal transport accompanied by water dissociation on the TiO2 surfaces. The trained DP achieves a total energy accuracy of ∼238.8 meV and a force accuracy of ∼197.05 meV/Å. The DPMD simulations show that water dissociation induces the formation of hydrogen bonding networks and molecular bridges. Structural modifications further affect interfacial thermal transport. The interfacial thermal conductance estimated by DP is ∼8.54 × 109 W/m2 K, smaller than ∼13.17 × 109 W/m2 K by empirical potentials. The vibrational density of states (VDOS) quantifies the differences between the DP model and empirical potentials. Notably, the VDOS disparity between the adsorbed hydrogen atoms and normal hydrogen atoms demonstrates the influence of water dissociation on heat transfer processes. This work aims to understand the effect of water dissociation on thermal transport at the TiO2–H2O interface. The increasing application of nuclear technology in medical fields has amplified the demand for radiation shielding materials. Traditional large-volume concrete cannot simultaneously exhibit excellent neutron and gamma-ray shielding capabilities while ensuring superior mechanical properties. This study tailored a novel lead fiber-reinforced high-performance concrete (LFRHPC) with lead fibers and magnetite aggregates, focusing on radiation attenuation. The effect of lead fibers on the mechanical performance, microstructure and radiation attenuation characteristics for LFRHPC was comprehensively evaluated. The results indicate a significant improvement in the mechanical performance of LFRHPC compared to traditional radiation shielding concrete (RSC), due to the scientific skeleton design. Additionally, the pore structure in LFRHPC is refined by incorporating lead fibers. Moreover, the interfacial transition zone (ITZ) between the cementitious matrix and magnetite is improved because of the very low water-to-binder ratio. To assess the radiation attenuation ability of LFRHPC, both direct measurements and simulation models were utilized. The data reveals that the porosity of LFRHPC plays a crucial role in its shielding effectiveness against neutron and gamma radiation. Furthermore, the addition of lead fibers considerably boosts its neutron and gamma-ray shielding attenuation capabilities. Alloying metal selenides as advanced anode materials for sodium‐ion devices requires overcoming the challenges of high diffusion energy barriers and large volume expansion at high‐power densities. The typical dealloying process is difficult to trigger under fast kinetics, leading to limited capacity utilization. Here, Sb/W‐hybridization precursor is synthesized by one‐step reaction, followed by electrostatic spinning strategy to achieve a localized domain‐limiting effect. Finally, the carbon mediated Sb2Se3–WSe2 heterostructure nanofiber (SbWSe/C/NF) are obtained after carbonization/selenization process. Physical characterization and theoretical calculations reveal that the SbWSe/C/NF‐500 has a heterogeneous structure and abundant edge carbon defects, facilitating rapid Na+ transfer from exterior to interior. Furthermore, compared with the Sb2Se3/C monomer, the SbWSe/C heterostructure shows a significant dealloying reaction at high current densities, enhancing capacity utilization. Resultantly, the Na half‐cell with SbWSe/C/NF‐500 electrode demonstrates excellent rate capability and a high specific capacity of 553.7 mA h g−1 after 250 cycles at 2 A g−1. Meanwhile, the assembled sodium‐ion capacitor exhibits 80.83% capacity retention after 8000 cycles at 3800 W kg−1. PRRX1‐fused mesenchymal neoplasm is a recently identified, rare subcutaneous soft tissue neoplasm that is characterized by fusion of PRRX1 (exon 1) with NCOA1 (exon 13) in the majority of reported cases. Although initially considered to be fibroblastic, a possibility of neural or neuroectodermal differentiation has been suggested in a subset of cases. We report a 26‐year‐old female with a 4.0 cm painless mass located in the subcutis of the left thigh. Microscopically, the tumor was well‐circumscribed and multinodular and was composed of relatively monomorphic ovoid to spindle cells arranged in loose fascicles, trabeculae, and cords within alternating myxoid and fibrous matrix, and vascularized stroma. Mitotic figures were scarce and necrosis was not observed. By immunohistochemistry, the neoplastic cells demonstrated focal co‐expression of S100 protein and SOX10 and were negative for epithelial membrane antigen, smooth muscle actin, desmin, CD34, STAT6, HMB45, Melan‐A, and MUC4. The expression of Rb1 was retained. Targeted RNA‐sequencing identified a novel transcript fusion of PRRX1 (exon 1)::NCOA1 (exon 15), which was further confirmed by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and Sanger sequencing. The tumor was narrowly excised and no tumor recurrence or metastasis was identified after 13 months of follow‐up. In summary, we report a new case of PRRX1‐fused mesenchymal neoplasm, expanding the molecular genetic spectrum and providing further support for possible neural or neuroectodermal differentiation of this emerging soft tissue tumor entity. As a 3D rapid prototyping technology, 3D printing (3DP) technology has been widely applied in medical research, fabricating various medical devices or implants. With the development of biomaterials and cell‐related technologies, 3DP, especially bioprinting technology, is quietly bringing great changes and opportunities in the medical industry. Beyond surgical models, medical devices, and implants, traditional 3DP, cell‐based 3D bioprinting, and emerging 4D printing (4DP) have significantly aided in the advancement and manufacture of pharmaceuticals and biological alternatives for tissue engineering. It is envisioned that future healthcare systems, based on evolving 3DP technology and precision medicine, will deliver customized solutions that cater to the unique differences and needs of each patient. In this review work, several mainstream 3D bioprinting technologies are presented, with a focus on recent advances in 3DP for pharmaceutical engineering and important tissue engineering, including vascular and bone tissue engineering. Challenges and future prospects of 3DP for drug discovery, drug delivery systems, artificial blood vessels, vascular and bone tissue engineering scaffolds, and practical applications are also covered. Finally, the differences between 3DP and 4DP, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of different stimulus response mechanisms in 4DP and their potential applications are summarized. The opposing effects of interface effect on phonon heat conduction and microwave absorption hinder the integration of thermal conduction with microwave absorption. Reconciling this contradiction by rationally optimizing the material structure remains a challenge. Herein, Fe2N@CNTs with heterogeneous interfaces and multi‐dimensional encapsulated structures are fabricated through in situ chemical vapor deposition (CVD) to realize excellent thermal conductivity and microwave absorption. When the mass fraction of active material is 40 wt.%, the thermal conductivity (λ//) of Fe2N@CNTs composite films is 6.69 W m−1 K−1. The minimum reflection loss (RLmin) is up to −54.55 dB at a thickness of 3.43 mm, and the effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) is 5.52 GHz at 1.82 mm. The well‐designed Fe2N@CNTs is an ideal model for gaining insight into electron transportation and phonon multi‐dimensional heat transport. Heterogeneous interface improves the dielectric loss and facilitates microwave and phonon absorption and conversion. The multi‐dimensional encapsulation structure increases the electron transport path and phonon heat transport paths making axial and radial co‐transfer possible. The multi‐dimensional encapsulation structure demonstrates extremely high microwave absorption and thermal management capabilities, which open up new possibilities for multifunctional applications in host materials with internal hollows. Multicomponent tandem reactions have become indispensable synthetic methods due to their economic advantages and efficient usage in natural products and drug synthesis. The emergence of metalated covalent organic frameworks (MCOFs) has opened up new opportunities for the advancement of multicomponent tandem reactions. In contrast to commonly used homogeneous transition metal catalysts, MCOFs possess regular porosity, high crystallinity, and rich metal chelation sites that facilitate the uniform distribution and anchoring of metals within their cavities. Thus, they show extremely high activity and have recently been widely employed as catalysts for multicomponent tandem reactions. It is timely to conduct a review of MCOFs in multicomponent tandem reactions, in order to offer guidance and assistance for the synthesis of MCOF catalysts and their application in multicomponent tandem reactions. This review provides a comprehensive overview of the design and synthesis of MCOFs, their application and progress in multicomponent tandem reactions, and the primary challenges encountered during their current development with the aim of contributing to the promotion of the field. Low-frequency communication constitutes a vital component of essential communication systems, serving a pivotal role in remote radio communication, navigation, timing, and seismic analysis. To enhance the predictive precision of low-frequency skywave propagation and address the demands of engineering applications, we propose a high-precision prediction method based on the ITU-R P.684 wave-hop theory and real-time environmental parameter forecasts. This method features several distinctive attributes. Firstly, it employs real-time ionospheric prediction data instead of relying on long-term ionospheric model predictions. Secondly, it utilizes a detailed map of land–sea surface electrical characteristics, surpassing the simplistic land–sea dichotomy previously employed. Compared with measured data, the findings demonstrate that we attained a reasonable propagation pattern and achieved high-precision field strength predictions. Comparatively, the improved method exhibits an improvement in the time and spatial domains over the ITU-R P.684 standard. Finally, the improved method balances computational efficiency with enhanced prediction accuracy, supporting the advancement of low-frequency communication system design and performance evaluation. China shale oil can be classified as interlayer shale oil (in sandstone, carbonate, and diamictite) and genuine shale oil. Considering the characteristics and strong heterogeneity of continental shales, it is recommended to evaluate the interlayer shale oil resources using the elemental volume method based on pore volume, and the genuine shale oil resources using the elemental weight method based on oil content. Four key parameters for genuine shale oil resource evaluation (i.e., S1, TOC, Ro, and shale thickness) and three key parameters for interlayer shale oil resource evaluation (i.e., interlayer thickness, porosity, and oil saturation) are determined, and the lower limits of parameters are defined accordingly. The evaluation results show that the geological resources of genuine shale oil in Qing-1 member of Songliao Basin are 52.23 × 108 t; the geological resources of shale oil in Chang-73 sub-member of Ordos Basin are 66.80 × 108 t, including 27.73 × 108 t interlayer shale oil and 39.07 × 108 t genuine shale oil; the geological resources of shale oil in Lucaogou Formation of Junggar Basin are 15.62 × 108 t, including 11.99 × 108 t interlayer shale oil and 3.63 × 108 t genuine shale oil. When Cu(II) reacts with ascorbic acid (AA) to form Cu(I), Cu(I) can combine with eosin Y (EY) to form ionic associations, resulting in significant fluorescence quenching of the EY. Based on the turn-off of fluorescence in the chemosensor EY, a green reaction is proposed herein for the detection of Cu(II). The novel detection method for Cu(II) demonstrates simplicity, high sensitivity, and excellent selectivity, rendering it suitable for analyzing environmental samples. A static fluorescence quenching mechanism is validated through the Stern–Volmer relationship, and the thermodynamic parameters of the reaction are explored using a van 't Hoff plot. The reaction mechanism is investigated via fluorescence spectra, absorption spectra, and density-functional theory (DFT) calculations. In oncology drug development, using biomarkers to select a study population more likely to benefit from a therapeutic effect is critical to increase the efficiency of a clinical trial in demonstrating effectiveness. This perspective delves into therapeutic product approvals that were tested in pivotal trials with all-comers populations, but ultimately received US Food and Drug Administration approval for use within specific patient subgroups identified by biomarkers. Despite initial designs for efficacy and safety assessments in overall populations, a favorable benefit-risk assessment was primarily established in biomarker-positive subgroups. Analyzing these cases, we summarize key considerations pivotal to totality of evidence for regulatory benefit-risk assessments for biomarker-defined subgroup versus all-comers approvals, including biological and clinical rationales, biomarker prevalence, safety data, overall trial design, and subgroup efficacy characterization. Furthermore, a decision tree is proposed to guide optimal clinical trial design, delineating between patient enrichment and stratification, accounting for key factors including biological and clinical rationale, marker type (discreate or continuous), prevalence, assay readiness, and turnaround times for marker assessment. Finally, a recommended approach for subgroup characterization involves prespecifying magnitude of improvement that would be considered clinically meaningful in the biomarker-negative subgroup, which can be supplemented with methodologies such as Bayesian to incorporate evidence from similar studies when available. Although high permittivity of inorganic materials (possibly two orders larger than organic polymers) is theoretically considered as ideal triboelectric materials, their high leakage property and low contact potential difference with metal electrodes lead to failure to obtain high triboelectric charge density. Besides, the internal space charge accumulation as a result of their defect levels reduces the output charge density and causes dielectric loss or even dielectric breakdown under charge injection in charge‐excitation triboelectric nanogenerator (CE‐TENG). Herein, this study proposes high permittivity and low dielectric loss inorganic materials as triboelectric layers. In order to prevent charge injection passing through the surface of inorganic materials caused by air breakdown under charge excitation, an organic polymer is coated, which has high permittivity, big polarizability, none charge traps, and large work function difference with metal electrodes. After optimizing the high dielectric inorganic layer and the coated organic polymer layer, the output charge of CE‐TENG based on 1 mm PZT‐5H coated with P(VDF‐TrFE‐CFE) achieves 2.83 mC m−2, 6.5 times of CE‐TENG based on 1 mm PZT‐5H, breaking the historical record for inorganic material TENG. Hydrogen is a vital resource in the fight against climate change, and it has the potential to revolutionize the energy sector. Our research focused on optimizing the production of high-purity hydrogen using coke oven gas (COG), a valuable hydrogen source in the steel industry. By leveraging advanced artificial neural networks (ANNs), we can predict the performance and exergy efficiency of a 6-bed 12-step vacuum pressure swing adsorption (VPSA) process accurately and efficiently. The Pareto fronts were addressed by combining the evolutionary algorithm with ANNs, and the effects of operating parameters were discussed in detail. Importantly, we found that our VPSA process can achieve a hydrogen purity of 99.99% with 45.2% exergy efficiency. We also demonstrated that using ANNs can significantly enhance VPSA process optimization, making it a valuable tool for extracting high-purity hydrogen from COG. • Multi-objective optimization is performed for the COG-to-hydrogen VPSA process. • Artificial neural networks are trained to predict performance as surrogate models. • The exergy efficiency of 100,000 unique samples is evaluated. • Exergy efficiency is up to 45.2% when producing hydrogen with 99.99% purity. • 9999% hydrogen can be produced at 0.27 bar vacuum pressure with 9 bar feed pressure. Background: Parental feeding practices (PFPs) play a key role in fostering preschoolers' dietary habits and in mitigating the risk of childhood obesity. Nevertheless, parents often employ inappropriate feeding practices, leading to children's potential nutrition-related issues. Thus, research is needed to inform interventions that focus on optimizing feeding practices. Methods: This protocol describes the evaluation of a novel intervention—Empowering Parents to Optimize Feeding Practices (EPO-Feeding Program). The program will be evaluated with a two-arm feasibility randomized controlled trial (RCT) in Yangzhou, China. The program includes four weekly group-based training sessions led by healthcare professionals for parents of preschool children. The intervention incorporates sessions, group discussions, motivational interviewing, and supplementary materials (e.g., key messages and educational videos) aimed at enhancing parents' knowledge, skills, and behaviours related to feeding practices. The primary outcomes include i) implementation feasibility, primarily assessed through retention rates; and ii) program acceptability through a survey and qualitative process evaluation. Secondary outcomes encompass the potential impacts on i) PFPs, ii) parental perception of child weight (PPCW), iii) parenting sense of competence, iv) children's eating behaviours, and v) child weight status. Quantitative analyses include descriptive estimates for evaluating the feasibility and linear mixed regression analysis for testing the potential effects. Qualitative valuation will use thematic framework analysis. Discussion: If this study shows this program to be feasible to implement and acceptable to parents, it will be used to inform a fully powered trial to determine its effectiveness. The research will also help inform policy and practices in the context of child nutrition promotion, particularly regarding implementing group-based training sessions by healthcare providers in similar settings. Background: The association of hepatitis B virus (HBV) DNA levels and liver fibrosis in chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients with immune-tolerant phase remains unclear. We explored the association between liver fibrosis and HBV DNA levels in HBeAg-positive CHB patients with normal alanine transaminase (ALT) with relatively high HBV DNA. Methods: Six hundred and twenty-two HBeAg-positive CHB patients with normal ALT were included. Patients were divided into three categories: low (6 log10 IU/mL ≤ HBV DNA < 7 log10 IU/mL), moderate (7 log10 IU/mL ≤ HBV DNA < 8 log10 IU/mL), and high (HBV DNA ≥ 8 log10 IU/mL). APRI, FIB-4, transient elastography, or liver biopsy were used to assess liver fibrosis. Results: The median age of patients was 33.0 years and 57.9% patients were male. 18.8%, 52.1%, and 29.1% of patients had low, moderate, and high HBV DNA levels, respectively. The APRI (0.33 vs. 0.26 vs. 0.26, P < 0.001), FIB-4 (1.03 vs. 0.71 vs. 0.68, P < 0.001), and LSM values (7.6 kPa vs. 5.6 kPa vs. 5.5 kPa, P = 0.086) were higher in low HBV DNA group than other two groups. Low HBV DNA group had higher proportions of significant fibrosis (24.8% vs. 9.9% vs. 3.3%, P < 0.001) and cirrhosis (7.7% vs. 2.5% vs. 1.1%, P = 0.004) than moderate and high HBV DNA groups. Moderate (OR 3.095, P = 0.023) and low (OR 4.968, P = 0.003) HBV DNA were independent risk factors of significant fibrosis. The profound impact of the Khmer Empire on Southeast Asia renders the Angkor Period particularly significant in guiding contemporary societies to advocate and promote policies that respond to climate change. We present a new continuous multi-proxy speleothem dataset from Tonle Sap Lake Basin, investigating hydroclimate variability and the paleoenvironment of Cambodia during the Angkor Period from the 9th to 15th centuries. In addition, two important climatic events on a decadal scale are clearly reconstructed. The first is the reduction of precipitation between 800 and 1000 AD and the relatively significant drought that the regional environment may have experienced from 950 to 1000 AD. The second is the anomalous wet period between 1000 and 1200 AD, during which the Southern Oscillation Index also reached its negative peak after a thousand years. The strength of water exchange capacity serves as a proxy for the self-purification capacity of water bodies, thereby playing a pivotal role in enhancing the overall water environment. This study focuses on the secondary outfitting area of the immersed tube tunnel within the Shenzhen–Zhongshan Link, utilizing either the substances transport model or the particle tracking model. This framework is designed to delve into the similarities, differences, and appropriateness of the Eulerian and Lagrangian methods in appraising the water exchange capacity of semi-closed water areas. The following key insights have been derived: (1) The spatial distribution patterns of water exchange capacity computed using both methods align, indicating a congruency in their fundamental principles. However, in our case study, the average water transit time determined by the Lagrangian method is 1.6 times higher than the average water residence time calculated by the Eulerian method, suggesting a more conservative approach by the Lagrangian method. (2) The results obtained from varying particle release times or initial concentration release times within a tidal cycle in the case exhibit notable disparities, highlighting the sensitivity of the system to these factors. (3) The Lagrangian method exhibits a significant 12% difference in average water transit time, compared to the mere 0.9% difference observed in the average water residence time calculated by the Eulerian method. This underscores the Lagrangian method's heightened sensitivity to the timing of particle release. Conversely, the Eulerian method offers more stable simulation outcomes in assessing the water exchange capacity of semi-closed water bodies, making it a preferred choice for such studies. However, if a comprehensive understanding of water exchange capacity, material transport trajectories, and final destinations is sought, the Lagrangian method would be the more appropriate approach. This study mainly explored the role of nicorandil in regulating ferroptosis and alleviating septic cardiomyopathy through toll-like receptor (TLR) 4/solute carrier family 7 member 11 (SLC7A11) signaling pathway. Twenty-four male SD rats were randomly divided into control, Nic (nicorandil), LPS (lipopolysaccharide), and LPS + Nic groups and given echocardiography. A detection kit was applied to measure the levels of lactic dehydrogenase (LDH), cardiac troponin I (cTnI), and creatine kinase-MB (CK-MB); HE staining and the levels of glutathione (GSH), malondialdehyde (MDA), total iron, and Fe2+ of myocardial tissues were detected. Moreover, the expression of TLR4 and SLC7A11 were measured by qRT-PCR and the proteins regulating ferroptosis (TLR4, SLC7A11, GPX4, ACSL4, DMT1, Fpn, and TfR1) were checked by western blot. Myocardial cells (H9C2) were induced with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and transfected with si-TLR4 or SLC7A11-OE. Then, the viability, ferroptosis, and TLR4/SLC7A11 signaling pathway of cells were examined. Nicorandil could significantly increase left ventricular (LV) ejection fraction (LVEF) while reduce LV end-diastolic volume (LVEDV) and LV end-systolic volume (LVESV). Also, it greatly reduced the levels of LDH, cTnI, and CK-MB; alleviated the pathological changes of myocardial injury; notably decreased MDA, total iron, and Fe2+ levels in myocardial tissues; and significantly increased GSH level. Besides, nicorandil obviously raised protein levels of GPX4, Fpn, and SLC7A11, and decreased protein levels of ACSL4, DMT1, TfR1, and TLR4. After knockdown of TLR4 or overexpression of SLC7A11, the inhibition effect of nicorandil on ferroptosis was strengthened in LPS-induced H9C2 cells. CDK6 plays a key role in the regulation of the cell cycle and is considered a crucial target for cancer therapy. In this work, conformational transitions of CDK6 were identified by using Gaussian accelerated molecular dynamics (GaMD), deep learning (DL), and free energy landscapes (FELs). DL finds that the binding pocket as well as the T-loop binding to the Vcyclin protein are involved in obvious differences of conformation contacts. This result suggests that the binding pocket of inhibitors (LQQ and AP9) and the binding interface of CDK6 to the Vcyclin protein play a key role in the function of CDK6. The analyses of FELs reveal that the binding pocket and the T-loop of CDK6 have disordered states. The results from principal component analysis (PCA) indicate that the binding of the Vcyclin protein affects the fluctuation behavior of the T-loop in CDK6. Our QM/MM-GBSA calculations suggest that the binding ability of LQQ to CDK6 is stronger than AP9 with or without the binding of the Vcyclin protein. Interaction networks of inhibitors with CDK6 were analyzed and the results reveal that LQQ contributes more hydrogen binding interactions (HBIs) and hot interaction spots with CDK6. In addition, the binding pocket endures flexibility changes from opening to closing states and the Vcyclin protein plays an important role in the stabilizing conformation of the T-loop. Previous epidemiologic research has shown that phthalate exposure in pregnant women is related to adverse birth outcomes in a sex-specific manner. However, the biological mechanism of phthalate exposure that causes these birth outcomes remains poorly defined. In this research, we investigated the association between phthalate exposure and placental oxidative stress in a large population-based cohort study, aiming to initially explore the relationship between phthalate exposure and gene expression in placental oxidative stress in a sex-specific manner. Quantitative PCR was performed to measure the expression of placental inflammatory mRNAs (HO-1, HIF1α, and GRP78) in 2469 placentae. The multiple linear regression models were used to investigate the associations between mRNA and urinary phthalate monoesters. Phthalate metabolites monomethyl phthalate (MMP) and mono-n-butyl phthalate (MBP) were positively correlated with higher HIF1α expression in placentae of male fetuses (p <.05). Mono-benzyl phthalate (MBzP) increased the expression of HO-1, HIF1α, and GRP78 in placentae of male fetuses, and mono-(2-ethyl-5-hydroxyhexyl) phthalate (MEHHP) up-regulated the expression of HIF1α and GRP78. Additionally, mono-(2-ethyl-5-oxohexyl) phthalate (MEOHP) was negatively correlated with HO-1, HIF1α, and GRP78 in placentae of female fetuses. Maternal phthalate exposure was associated with oxidative stress variations in placental tissues. The associations were closer in the placentas of male fetuses than in that of female ones. This paper presents the design, modeling, and characterizing tests of an assembled freely pendulum-type active tuned mass damper (AP-ATMD) for structural vibration control, highlighting its unique features such as noncontact force transmission, nonextra stiffness, and damping members. This device can operate passively as a tuned mass damper (TMD) with optimal tuning when environmental disturbances are minimal, or it can engage efficiently in active control when significant disturbances are present. The AP-ATMD mainly consists of a robust suspension system, an arc-shaped mass block with permanent magnets (PMs), and an arc-shaped electromagnetic motor. Notably, both the electromagnetic motor and the mass block have identical curvatures. A laboratory prototype of the AP-ATMD was designed and fabricated for the purpose of characterizing tests. Furthermore, an electromechanical model based on the Bouc–Wen hysteresis loop was developed to accurately characterize the active force behavior generated by the device. The parameters of this model were identified through a series of characterizing tests of the prototype AP-ATMD under harmonic excitations, and subsequently were validated under random excitation. The results confirmed the efficacy of the proposed electromechanical model in precisely capturing the active force behavior across a wide array of operational conditions. Finally, a numerical simulation of a 3-story frame with the AP-ATMD installed was conducted. The outcomes of the simulation highlighted the AP-ATMD's ability to reduce structural responses significantly. 9,9-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)fluorene (BPF) is a highly structurally symmetric bisphenol with excellent optical properties of low birefringence and high refractive index, however, the glass transition temperature (T g) of its polyester is high (T g>300°C), which makes it difficult to be thermally processed and limits its application. On the other hand, 4,4′-Thiobis (2-methylphenol) (T2MP) has a flexible thioether group, its introduction not only brings high refractive index, but also can appropriately reduce the T g of the polymer. Therefore, by combining the advantages of both of them, we prepared aromatic polyesters with high refractive index and stabilization. To study the distribution of corrosion depth along the longitudinal direction of tensile steel bars embedded in recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) beams under static loads, a total of 12 RAC beams were designed for accelerated corrosion testing by considering three types of recycled coarse aggregate (RCA) replacement ratios (i.e. 0%, 50% and 100%) and four kinds of static load levels (i.e. 0, 0.2, 0.4 and 0.6). The results demonstrated that the corrosion depth of tensile reinforcement showed an increasing trend with the increase of static load level. The maximum corrosion depth had a good quadratic polynomial relationship with the average corrosion depth of tensile reinforcement and increased with the average corrosion depth. For beams with the same RCA replacement ratio, there was a good linear relationship between the overall uneven corrosion coefficient and average mass loss of tensile reinforcement. The probability distribution type of corrosion depth along the longitudinal direction of tensile reinforcement was mainly a lognormal distribution. An increase in both RCA replacement ratio and static load level could make the probability distribution curve of corrosion depth move to the right, as well as increase the dispersion of corrosion depth around its mean value. Paper cultural relics, as the carriers of human civilization, inevitably deteriorate during the long-term storage. The restoration of those damaged or aged paper cultural relics is an important part of cultural relics protection. How to obtain the fiber with high permanence property is the key to the repair paper used to cultural relic restoration. Herein, in order to obtain high permanence lignocellulosic fiber, nano-CaCO3 was introduced inside the Wikstroemia bast fiber by in-situ mineralization. Under accelerated aging condition, the microstructure, chemical structure, crystallinity, degree of polymerization, variation of pH, alkali reserve and mechanical strength of the fiber before and after mineralization were studied. The results showed that nano-CaCO3 had no obvious effect on the properties of paper prepared from those mineralized fibers, but it can effectively neutralize the acid generated inside the fiber, slow down the degradation rate of cellulose and improve the permanence of the paper during the aging process. The movement of landslide-debris flows is strongly affected by entrainment and runout-path terrain. Herein, mobility alteration was explored from an energy perspective via the discrete element method, using the Shaziba geohazard. The dynamics of the Shaziba geohazard were investigated based on field investigations and numerical simulations. The multiple energy evolutions, conversions, and dissipations of different initiation areas and distinct landslide processes, including kinetic, potential, frictional, and collisional energy, were quantitatively and systematically investigated. The simulation results provide a clear presentation of the inter-particle interactions and energy transfer behavior. Friction caused the most significant energy dissipation, yet collisions dominated the mobility reduction during the entrainment process and interactions with the runout-path terrain. The entrained area possessed higher mobility due to entrainment-induced energy transfer, with distinct forms of energy supplement at different depths. Moreover, the deflection and arching effects of runout-path terrains altered the velocity and direction of landslides and could be used to explain the dissipation of landslide energy as well as reduced mobility. At the cliff, the high-velocity and near-vertical impact on the sediment resulted in the rapid dissipation of landslide energy in collisions. In recent years, the advancement of hyperspectral remote sensing technology has greatly enhanced the detailed mapping of tree species. Nevertheless, delving deep into the significance of hyperspectral remote sensing data features for tree species recognition remains a challenging endeavor. The method of Hybrid-CS was proposed to addresses this challenge by synergizing the strengths of both deep learning and traditional learning techniques. Initially, we extract comprehensive correlation structures and spectral features. Subsequently, a hybrid approach, combining correlation-based feature selection with an optimized recursive feature elimination algorithm, identifies the most valuable feature set. We leverage the Support Vector Machine algorithm to evaluate feature importance and perform classification. Through rigorous experimentation, we evaluate the robustness of hyperspectral image-derived features and compare our method with other state-of-the-art classification methods. The results demonstrate: (1) Superior classification accuracy compared to traditional machine learning methods (e.g., SVM, RF) and advanced deep learning approaches on the tree species dataset. (2) Enhanced classification accuracy achieved by incorporating SVM and CNN information, particularly with the integration of attention mechanisms into the network architecture. Additionally, the classification performance of a two-branch network surpasses that of a single-branch network. (3) Consistent high accuracy across different proportions of training samples, indicating the stability and robustness of the method. This study underscores the potential of hyperspectral images and our proposed methodology for achieving precise tree species classification, thus holding significant promise for applications in forest resource management and monitoring. Background: Nonfusion technologies, such as motion-preservation devices, have begun a new era of treatment options in spine surgery. Motion-preservation approaches mainly include total disc replacement for anterior cervical discectomy and fusion. However, for multisegment fusion, such as anterior cervical corpectomy and fusion, the options are more limited. Therefore, we designed a novel 3D-printed motion-preservation artificial cervical corpectomy construct (ACCC) for multisegment fusion. The aim of this study was to explore the feasibility of ACCC in a goat model. Methods: Goats were treated with anterior C3 corpectomy and ACCC implantation and randomly divided into two groups evaluated at 3 or 6 months. Radiography, 3D CT reconstruction and MRI evaluations were performed. Biocompatibility was evaluated using micro-CT and histology. Results: Postoperatively, all goats were in good condition, with free neck movement. Implant positioning was optimal. The relationship between facet joints was stable. The range of motion of the C2-C4 segments during flexion–extension at 3 and 6 months postoperatively was 7.8° and 7.3°, respectively. The implants were wrapped by new bone tissue, which had grown into the porous structure. Cartilage tissue, ossification centres, new blood vessels, and bone mineralization were observed at the porous metal vertebrae-bone interface and in the metal pores. Conclusions: The ACCC provided stabilization while preserving the motion of the functional spinal unit and promoting bone regeneration and vascularization. In this study, the ACCC was used for anterior cervical corpectomy and fusion (ACCF) in a goat model. We hope that this study will propel further research of motion-preservation devices. The phosphorylation of different sites produces a significant effect on the conformational dynamics of KRAS. Gaussian accelerated molecular dynamics (GaMD) simulations were combined with deep learning (DL) to explore the molecular mechanism of the phosphorylation-mediated effect on conformational dynamics of the GTP-bound KRAS. The DL finds that the switch domains are involved in obvious differences in conformation contacts and suggests that the switch domains play a key role in the function of KRAS. The analyses of free energy landscapes (FELs) reveal that the phosphorylation of pY32, pY64, and pY137 leads to more disordered states of the switch domains than the wild-type (WT) KRAS and induces conformational transformations between the closed and open states. The results from principal component analysis (PCA) indicate that principal motions PC1 and PC2 are responsible for the closed and open states of the phosphorylated KRAS. Interaction networks were analyzed and the results verify that the phosphorylation alters interactions of GTP and magnesium ion Mg2+ with the switch domains. It is concluded that the phosphorylation pY32, pY64, and pY137 tune the activity of KRAS through changing conformational dynamics and interactions of the switch domains. Spectrum feature extraction plays a crucial role in identifying seismic events and calculating structural response parameters. However, the criteria for identifying effective modal components in Variational Mode Decomposition (VMD) are not well-defined, resulting in inaccurate spectrum feature extraction. To address this issue, we propose a novel spectrum feature extraction method that combines Allan variance, VMD, and power spectral density (PSD). Firstly, VMD is applied to filter noise components from triaxial accelerometer observations and add effective signals. Secondly, PSD is utilized to extract three groups of seismic frequencies (tri-axial accelerometers). Finally, the Allan method is introduced to identify the group of accelerometer observations with the highest reliability as the vibration frequency caused by the seismic excitation. We validate the effectiveness of our method by analyzing a Mw 2.6 micro-seismic event that occurred in Huairou, Beijing in 2022. The result shows that our proposed method accurately extracts spectrum features of the Great Wall. Specifically, the seismic excitation vibration frequencies at four monitoring stations were found to be 26.95 Hz, 12.89 Hz, 12.89 Hz, and 12.5 Hz. These findings underscore our method's utility in evaluating the Great Wall's structural response to seismic loading, which has significant implications for the conservation and protection of heritage structures. In this paper, we explore the periodicity of the multifractal phenomenon of stock price caused by public relations events using the multifractal detrended fluctuation analysis (MF-DFA) method. The Tesla stock closing price in the context of the Tesla rights defense event is used to obtain the generalized Hurst exponent and multifractal spectrum. We find that the stock price exhibits multifractal characteristics. Afterwards, we conduct a multifractal time-varying analysis using high-frequency data for 12 time periods before and after the Tesla rights defense event, which happened on 19 April 2021. We calculate the Δh and Δα before and after the rights defense event to measure the degree of multifractal of Tesla stock price. In addition, we also compute the difference between the two Δh and two Δα, which are regarded as D1 and D2. The results show that the Tesla stock market efficiency degree raised as the period time increases until the eighth period. And after the eighth period, both D1 and D2 tend to be stable, and the degree of market efficiency caused by the Tesla rights defense event remains almost unchanged. In addition, we use three broad market indices in the context of the Russia–Ukraine conflict to test the universality. The three broad market indices are Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index (SSEC) and Nikkei 225 ETF (N225). The results demonstrate that with the extending of time period, D1 and D2 gradually stabilize, indicating that public memorability will diminish and the market efficiency almost remains unchanged. Background: N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification plays an important role in lung cancer. However, methyltransferase-like 14 (METTL14), which serves as the main component of the m6A complex, has been less reported to be involved in the immune microenvironment of lung cancer. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between METTL14 and the immune checkpoint inhibitor programmed death receptor 1 (PD-1) in lung cancer. Methods: CCK-8, colony formation, transwell, wound healing, and flow cytometry assays were performed to explore the role of METTL14 in lung cancer progression in vitro. Furthermore, syngeneic model mice were treated with sh-METTL14 andan anti-PD-1 antibody to observe the effect of METTL14 on immunotherapy. Flow cytometry and immunohistochemical (IHC) staining were used to detect CD8 expression. RIP and MeRIP were performed to assess the relationship between METTL14 and HSD17B6. LLC cells and activated mouse PBMCs were cocultured in vitro to mimic immune cell infiltration in the tumor microenvironment. ELISA was used to detect IFN-γ and TNF-α levels. Results: The online database GEPIA showed that high METTL14 expression indicated a poor prognosis in patients with lung cancer. In vitro assays suggested that METTL14 knockdown suppressed lung cancer progression. In vivo assays revealed that METTL14 knockdown inhibited tumor growth and enhanced the response to PD-1 immunotherapy. Furthermore, METTL14 knockdown enhanced CD8+T-cell activation and infiltration. More importantly, METTL14 knockdown increased the stability of HSD17B6 mRNA by reducing its m6A methylation. In addition, HSD17B6 overexpression promoted the activation of CD8+ T cells. Conclusion: The disruption of METTL14 contributed to CD8+T-cell activation and the immunotherapy response to PD-1 via m6A modification of HSD17B6, thereby suppressing lung cancer progression. The world has witnessed a rapid rise of online health communities (OHCs) where patients can create a powerful network of support and resources to make a meaningful difference in people’s health lives. Despite this rapid rise, healthcare authorities and organisations are under enormous pressure to create a sustainable environment for OHCs. Prior studies revealed that encouraging patient value co-creation behaviour (VCB) is substantially beneficial for successful OHCs; however, what factors influence these patient behaviours to co-create value is still unknown. To fill this gap, this study uses the service-dominant logic perspective of value co-creation theory and discloses how homophily between patient influencers and patients in OHCs effect VCB. The data was collected through a self-administered survey from 422 patients who are users of OHC in China and was analysed via partial least squares structural equation modelling and fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA). The results revealed that homophily positively influences VCBs, i.e. participation behaviour (PB) and citizenship behaviour (CB). A parasocial relationship only moderates the relations between homophily and (PB), whereas the influencer ethical interaction capability significantly moderates the relationship of both homophily with patient PB and CB. Background: DNA damage response (DDR) mutation-related genes and composition of immune cells are core factors affecting the effectiveness of immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy. The aim of this study is to combine DDR with immune-related genes to screen the prognostic signature for prostate cancer (PCa). Methods: Gene expression profile and somatic mutation were downloaded from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA). DDR-related genes were obtained from published study. After identification of prognostic-related DDR genes, samples were divided into mutation and nonmutation groups. Differentially expressed genes between these two groups were screened, followed by selection of immune-related DDR genes. Univariate and multivariate Cox analyses were performed to screen genes for constructing prognostic model. Nomogram model was also developed. The expression level of signature was detected by quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR). Results: Two genes (MYBBP1A and PCDHA9) were screened to construct the prognostic model, and it showed good risk prediction of PCa prognosis. Survival analysis showed that patients in high-risk group had worse overall survival than those in low-risk group. Cox analyses indicated that risk score could be used as an independent prognostic factor for PCa. qPCR results indicated that MYBBP1A was upregulated, whereas PCDHA9 was downregulated in PCa cell lines. Conclusions: A prognostic model based on DDR mutation-related genes for PCa was established, which serves as an effective tool for prognostic differentiation in patients with PCa. The twin mountains, a common terrain in mountainous areas, tend to induce the acceleration effect under crosswinds, which enhances the wind speed and the turbulence performance of the flow field. To mitigate the impact of the acceleration effect on high-speed trains, structures, and aircraft near the twin mountains, this study investigates the effectiveness of the jet strategies, which are realized on natural mountain slopes by mechanical ventilation, with different jet angles on the flow field and the train. Wind speed tests, flow visualization, wind field prediction, and research on the train's aerodynamic behavior are conducted in this paper using the wind tunnel and the improved delayed detached eddy simulation dynamic models. The results indicate that the wind velocity on the leeward side of the twin mountains increases up to 1.42 folds of the wind velocity of the incoming flow under crosswinds. The jet streams with 0° and 30° angles are the most effective in mitigating the acceleration effect among those tested (0°, 15°, 30°, and 45°), reducing the maximum wind speed by 11.87% and 16%, respectively. Compared with the mitigation effect of the jet stream with the 30° angle, the jet stream with the 0° angle has a better mitigation effect on the aerodynamic loads (4.0%–13.2%) and its fluctuation amplitude (24.4%–42.7%) of the train. The Indo-Pacific, a vast biogeographic of Earth, is influenced by both the Indian and East Asian monsoons. Despite its geographical importance, this region has been less studied compared to East Asia and India. Here, we present speleothem records from southern Thailand that cover the last 1500 years, including a hiatus during the Little Ice Age, providing insights into the interactions among climate dynamics, human influences, and ecological responses to climate change. Notably, our records lack the characteristic cold and warm periods observed in other regions, such as the Dark Ages Cold Period and Medieval Warm Period, which may reflect the complexity of the tropical climate system or the region's unique topography. The analysis reveals a link between ENSO multi-decadal variability and hydroclimate conditions in southern Thailand, as evidenced by speleothem δ18O. Furthermore, a comparison between speleothem δ13C and the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) indicates significant vegetation changes in the last three decades, corresponding with increased atmospheric CO2 levels and expansion of agricultural land due to human activities during the Current Warm Period. Additionally, our study suggests that an abrupt increase in sea surface temperatures may enhance vegetation growth in the Indo-Pacific by influencing atmospheric circulation and increasing precipitation. In order to further clarify the shale oil accumulation period of the Chang 7 member of the Mesozoic Triassic Yanchang Formation in the Zhijing-Ansai area of the central Ordos Basin, Using fluid inclusion petrography analysis, microscopic temperature measurement, salinity analysis and fluorescence spectrum analysis methods, combined with the burial history-thermal history recovery in the area, the oil and gas accumulation period of the Chang 7 member of the Yanchang Formation in the Zhijing-Ansai area was comprehensively analyzed. Sixteen shale oil reservoir samples of the Mesozoic Triassic Yanchang Formation in seven typical wells in the study area were selected.The results show that the fluid inclusions in the Chang 7 member of Yanchang Formation can be divided into two stages. The first stage inclusions mainly develop liquid hydrocarbon inclusions and a large number of associated brine inclusions, which are mainly beaded in fracture-filled quartz and fracture-filled calcite. The fluorescence color is blue and blue-green, and the homogenization temperature of the associated brine inclusions is between 90–110°C. The second stage inclusions are mainly gas-liquid two-phase hydrocarbon inclusions, gas inclusions and asphalt inclusions. Most of them are distributed in the fracture-filled quartz, and the temperature of the associated brine inclusions is between 120–130°C. Fluid inclusions in Chang 7 member of the Yanchang Formation can be divided into two stages. Compressed air is extensively used in manufacturing industries due to its cleanliness, practicality and ease of use, and thus the energy consumed by compressed air systems accounts for a large share of industry electricity. Energy efficient control for compressed air systems will contribute to energy saving. Through modeling the compressed air system equipped with fixed speed compressor, and that with variable speed compressor, their corresponding operating characteristics were examined. Considering the advantages of variable speed compressors at the part-load condition, the variable speed driver technique was introduced to a conventional compressed air system with multi-fixed speed compressor. For balancing the investment cost and operation cost, only one compressor was variable speed controlled and the remaining compressors were load/unload controlled. 14.4% of energy could be saved as compared to the conventional compressed air system with multi-fixed speed compressor under part load condition. Furthermore, by introducing a feedforward loop to compensate for the change of compressed air demand, the proposed control scheme for the compressed air system was improved. Results showed that a better operating performance in terms of an extra 4.1% of energy saving and a smaller pressure fluctuation was achieved under the proposed control scheme. Objective: To explore the effects of Draf1–3 on frontal sinus airflow and frontal sinus irrigation in people with different frontal sinus development Methods: The development of the frontal sinus and the distribution of the frontal recess cells were evaluated by CT scan in 150 adults (300 sides). The airflow changes into the frontal sinus and frontal recess after Draf were analyzed by Fluent software under a steady state and quiet inspiratory state. Nasal irrigation after Draf in adults with well-developed frontal sinus was simulated using 120 mL saline at a rate of 12 mL/s in a position at 45° to observe the changes in transient flow distribution. Results: The moderately developed type of the frontal sinus was the most common. The airflow patterns in the frontal sinus and frontal recess in the moderate development group were laminar, while several large vortexes were formed between the frontal sinus and frontal recess in the well-development group. The Draf exerted more significant effects on the patterns, pressure, and velocity of the airflow in the frontal sinus and frontal recess in the well development group than in the moderate development group. The volume fraction of saline in the frontal sinus increased significantly from Draf1 to Draf3, and the time required for a complete infiltration of saline in the frontal sinus mucosa was significantly reduced. Conclusions: Draf1–3 has different effects on the airflow field of the frontal sinus with different developmental types; and Draf1–3 can significantly improve the postoperative flushing of the frontal sinus. Background: Neuropeptides play a critical role in regulating pain and inflammation. Despite accumulating evidence has further uncovered the novel functions and mechanisms of different neuropeptides in orofacial pain sensation and transmission, there is deficient systematic description of neuropeptides' pain modulation in the orofacial region, especially in the trigeminal system. Objectives: The present review aims to summarise several key neuropeptides and gain a better understanding of their major regulatory roles in orofacial inflammation and pain. Methods: We review and summarise current studies related to calcitonin gene‐related peptide (CGRP), substance P (SP), opioid peptide (OP), galanin (GAL) and other neuropeptides' functions and mechanisms as well as promising targets for orofacial pain control. Results: A number of neuropeptides are clearly expressed in the trigeminal sensory system and have critical functions in the transduction and pathogenesis of orofacial pain. The functions, possible cellular and molecular mechanisms have been introduced and discussed. Neuropeptides and their agonists or antagonists which are widely studied to be potential treatment options of orofacial pain has been evaluated. Conclusions: Various neuropeptides play important but distinct (pro‐nociceptive or analgesic) roles in orofacial pain with different mechanisms. In summary, CGRP, SP, NPY, NKA, HK‐1, VIP mainly play proinflammatory and pro‐nociceptive effects while OP, GAL, OXT, OrxA mainly have inhibitory effects on orofacial pain. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

BACKGROUND: In order to improve the tenderness of dried shrimp products as well as to reduce the hardness of the meat during the drying process, shrimp were treated with ultrasound combined with pineapple protease and the tenderization condition was optimized by measuring the texture and shear force of dried shrimp. In addition, the sulfhydryl content, myofibril fragmentation index (MFI) and microstructure were also examined to clarify the mechanisms of shrimp tenderization. RESULTS: The results showed UB1 group with ultrasonic power of 100 W, heating temperature of 50 °C and pineapple protease concentration of 20 U mL−1 were the optimum tenderization conditions, where shrimp showed the lowest hardness (490.76 g) and shear force (2006.35 gf). Microstructure as well as sodium dodecyl sulfate–polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis results suggested that during the tenderization process the muscle segments of shrimps were broken, degradation of myofibrillar proteins occurred, and MFI values and total sulfhydryl content increased significantly (P < 0.05) (MFI value = 193.6 and total sulfhydryl content = 93.93 mmol mg−1 protein for UB 1 group). CONCLUSION: Ultrasound combined with bromelain could be used as a simple and effective tenderization method for the production of tender dried shrimp. Objective: This study aims to develop a CT-based method for quantifying tracheal shape and evaluating its ability to distinguish between cases with or without tracheal invasion in patients with thyroid carcinoma. Methods: A total of 116 quantitative shape features, including 56 geometric moments and 60 bounding shape features, were defined. The tracheal lumen was semi-automatically defined with a CT threshold of less than − 500 HU. Three contiguous slices with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd smallest trachea lumen areas were contiguously selected, and the appropriate number of slices to be included was determined. Fifty-six patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC) invading the trachea and 22 patients with DTC but without invasion were retrospectively included. A receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was applied to select the representative shape features and determine the optimal threshold. Results: 23.3%, 25.9%, and 24.1% of the features displayed an area under the ROC curve (AUC) ≥ 0.800 when derived from 1, 2, and 3 slices, respectively. Calculating feature values from two slices with the 1st and 2nd smallest tracheal lumen area were considered appropriate. Six final features, including 3 geometric moments and 3 bounding shape features, were selected to determine the tracheal invasion status of DTC and displayed AUCs of 0.875–0.918, accuracies of 0.821–0.891, sensitivities of 0.813–0.893, and specificities of 0.818–0.932, outperforming the visual evaluation results. Conclusions: Geometric moments and bounding shape features can quantify the tracheal shape and are reliable for identifying DTC tracheal invasion. The selected features quantified the extent of tracheal deformity in DTC patients with and without tracheal invasion. Clinical relevance statement: Six geometric features provide a non-invasive, semi-automated evaluation of the tracheal invasion status of thyroid cancer. The aim of this study was to investigate the differences between resting and active thalamic neurometabolite levels and inhibitory function in obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) patients with poor sleep quality (PSQ was defined as Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index >5 and sleep efficiency ≤85%) compared to OCD patients with good sleep quality (GSQ) and healthy controls (HCs), as well as the relationship of these indices to obsessive compulsive symptoms. Functional magnetic resonance spectroscopy (fMRS) was used to measure resting and active thalamic neurometabolite levels in 72 subjects (20 HCs and 38 OCD patients included in study analysis). Response inhibition function was measured by the Go-Nogo task before and during MRS recording. Subjective sleep quality was assessed using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). The symptoms of OCD, anxiety and depression were evaluated using relevant clinical scales. OCD patients exhibited significantly reduced Glx/Cr levels in the resting thalamus. The levels of resting thalamic Glu/Cr and Glx/Cr in OCD patients with PSQ were significantly lowest. OCD patients had significantly lower correct rates on Go tasks, higher error rates on Nogo tasks, and longer error average response times (EART) to the Nogo task. OCD patients with PSQ demonstrated the highest Nogo task error rate and the longest EART to Nogo task. Furthermore, PSQI scores exhibited negative correlations with Glu/Cr and Glx/Cr in the resting thalamus. OCD patients with PSQ demonstrated reduced levels of thalamic resting Glx and more pronounced response inhibitory function impairment. Aberrant neurometabolite levels in critical brain regions, coupled with heightened response inhibition function deficits, may be a neurobiological basis for the PSQ that OCD patients generally exhibit. We study the rotational dynamics induced by the recoil effect in diatomic molecules using time-resolved two-color x-ray pump-probe spectroscopy. A short pump x-ray pulse ionizes a valence electron inducing the molecular rotational wave packet, whereas the second time-delayed x-ray pulse probes the dynamics. An accurate theoretical description is used for analytical discussions and numerical simulations. Our main attention is paid to the following two interference effects that influence the recoil-induced dynamics: (i) Cohen–Fano (CF) two-center interference between partial ionization channels in diatomics and (ii) interference between the recoil-excited rotational levels manifesting as the rotational revival structures in the time-dependent absorption of the probe pulse. The time-dependent x-ray absorption is computed for the heteronuclear CO and homonuclear N2 molecules as showcases. It is found that the effect of CF interference is comparable with the contribution from independent partial ionization channels, especially for the low photoelectron kinetic energy case. The amplitude of the recoil-induced revival structures for the individual ionization decreases monotonously with a decrease in the photoelectron energy, whereas the amplitude of the CF contribution remains sufficient even at the photoelectron kinetic energy below 1 eV. The profile and intensity of the CF interference depend on the phase difference between the individual ionization channels related to the parity of the molecular orbital emitting the photoelectron.
