Owing to the broad energy coverage of Insight-HXMT in the hard X-ray band, we detected the highest energy of pulsation exceeding 200 keV around the 2017-2018 outburst peak of the first Galactic pulsating ultraluminous X-ray source (PULX) Swift J0243.6+6124, which is the highest energy detected from PULXs to date. We also obtained the highest energy of pulsation of every exposure during the outburst in 2017-2018, and found the highest energy is roughly positively correlated with luminosity. Using our newly developed method, we identified the critical luminosity being $4\times 10^{38}\, \rm erg\,s^{-1}$ when the main peaks of the low and high energy pulse profiles became aligned, which separates the fan-beam dominated and pencil-beam dominated accretion regimes. Above the critical luminosity, the phase of the main peak shifted gradually from 0.5 to 0.8 until the outburst peak in all energy bands is reached, which is in agreement with the phase shift found previously at low energies. Energetic X-ray radiations emitted from various accretion systems are widely considered to be produced by Comptonization in the hot corona. The corona and its interaction with the disc play an essential role in the evolution of the system and are potentially responsible for many observed features. However many intrinsic properties of the corona are still poorly understood, especially for the geometrical configurations. The traditional spectral fitting method is not powerful enough to distinguish various configurations. In this paper we intent to investigate the possible configurations by modeling the polarization properties of X-ray radiations. The geometries of the corona include the slab, sphere and cylinder. The simulations are implemented through the publicly available code, LEMON, which can deal with the polarized radiative transfer and different electron distributions readily. The results demonstrate clearly that the observed polarizations are dependent on the geometry of the corona heavily. The slab-like corona produces the highest polarization degrees, the following are the cylinder and sphere. One of the interesting things is that the polarization degrees first increase gradually and then decrease with the increase of photon energy. For slab geometry there exists a zero point where the polarization vanishes and the polarization angle rotates for $90^\circ$. These results may potentially be verified by the upcoming missions for polarized X-ray observations, such as $IXPE$ and $eXTP$., Comment: 29 pages, 12 figures, RAA accepted. Context. The intrinsic TeV emission of some BL Lacs are characterized by a hard spectrum (the hard-TeV spectrum) after correcting for the extragalactic background light. The hard-TeV spectra pose a challenge to conventional one-zone models, including the leptonic model, the photohadronic model, the proton synchrotron model, etc. Aims. In this work, we study if the one-zone hadronuclear (pp) model can be used to interpret the hard-TeV spectra of BL Lacs without introducing extreme parameters. Methods. We give analytical calculations to study if there is a parameter space and the charge neutrality condition of jet can be satisfied when interpreting the hard-TeV spectra of BL Lacs without introducing a super-Eddington jet power. Results. We find that in a sample of hard-TeV BL Lacs collected by Xue et al. (2019a), only the hard-TeV spectrum of 1ES 0229+200 could be explained by gamma-ray from pi-0 decay produced in the pp interactions, but at the cost of setting a small radius of the radiation region that comparable to the Schwarzschild radius of the central black hole. Combining with previous studies of other one-zone models, we suggest that the hard-TeV spectra of BL Lacs cannot be explained by any one-zone models without introducing extreme parameters, and should originate from the multiple radiation regions., Comment: 6 pages, 1 figure. We review the Seyfert 1.5 Galaxy ESO 362-G18 for exploring the origin of the soft X-ray excess. The Warm Corona and Relativistic Reflection models are two main scenarios to interpret the soft X-ray excess in AGNs at present. We use the simultaneous X-ray observation data of XMM-Newton and NuSTAR on Sep. 24th, 2016 to perform spectral analysis in two steps. First, we analyze the time-average spectra by using Warm Corona and Relativistic Reflection models. Moreover, we also explore the Hybrid model, Double Reflection model and Double Warm Corona model. We find that both of Warm Corona and Relativistic Reflection models can interpret the time-average spectra well but cannot be distinguished easily based on the time-averaged spectra fit statistics. Second, we add the RMS and covariance spectra to perform the spectral analysis with time-average spectra. The result shows that the warm corona could reproduce all of these spectra well. The the hot, optical thin corona and neutral distant reflection will increase their contribution with the temporal frequency, meaning that the corona responsible for X-ray continuum comes from the inner compact X-ray region and the neutral distant reflection is made of some moderate scale neutral clumps.

In this paper, we proposed a new Monte Carlo radiative transport (MCRT) scheme, which is based completely on the Neumann series solution of Fredholm integral equation. This scheme indicates that the essence of MCRT is the calculation of infinite terms of multiple integrals in Neumann solution simultaneously. Under this perspective we redescribed MCRT procedure systematically, in which the main work amounts to choose an associated probability distribution function (PDF) for a set of random variables and the corresponding unbiased estimation functions. We can select a relatively optimal estimation procedure that has a lower variance from an infinite possible choices, such as the term by term estimation. In this scheme, MCRT can be regarded as a pure problem of integral evaluation, rather than as the tracing of random walking photons. Keeping this in mind, one can avert some subtle intuitive mistakes. In addition the $\delta$-functions in these integrals can be eliminated in advance by integrating them out directly. This fact together with the optimal chosen random variables can remarkably improve the Monte Carlo (MC) computational efficiency and accuracy, especially in systems with axial or spherical symmetry. An MCRT code, Lemon (Linear Integral Equations' Monte Carlo Solver Based on the Neumann solution), has been developed completely based on this scheme. Finally, we intend to verify the validation of Lemon, a suite of test problems mainly restricted to flat spacetime have been reproduced and the corresponding results are illustrated in detail., Comment: 37 pages, 28 figures. We propose a new pattern-matching algorithm for matching CCD images to a stellar catalogue based statistical method in this paper. The method of constructing star pairs can greatly reduce the computational complexity compared with the triangle method. We use a subsample of the brightest objects from the image and reference catalogue, and then find a coordinate transformation between the image and reference catalogue based on the statistical information of star pairs. Then all the objects are matched based on the initial plate solution. The matching process can be accomplished in several milliseconds for the observed images taken by Yunnan observatory 1-m telescope., Comment: 13 pages,6 figures, 1 table

We report a nominally high-confidence $\gamma$-ray quasi-periodic modulation in the blazar PKS 0301$-$243. For this target, we analyze its \emph{Fermi}-LAT Pass 8 data covering from 2008 August to 2017 May. Two techniques, i.e., the maximum likelihood optimization and the exposure-weighted aperture photometry, are used to build the $\gamma$-ray light curves. Then both the Lomb-Scargle Periodogram and the Weighted Wavelet Z-transform are applied to the light curves to search for period signals. A quasi-periodicity with a period of $2.1\pm0.3$ yr appears at the significance level of $\sim5\sigma$, although it should be noted that this putative quasi-period variability is seen in a data set barely four times longer. In this paper we present a new public code, named $ynogkm$, for the fast calculation of time-like geodesics in the Kerr-Newmann (K-N) spacetime, which is a direct extension of $ynogk$ calculating null geodesics in a Kerr spacetime. Following the strategies used in $ynogk$, we also solve the equations of motion analytically and semi-analytically by using Weierstrass' and Jacobi's elliptic functions and integrals, in which the Boyer-Lidquist (B-L) coordinates $r$, $\theta$, $\phi$, $t$ and the proper time $\sigma$ are expressed as functions of an independent variable $p$ (Mino time). All of the elliptic integrals are computed by Carlson's elliptic integral method, which guarantees the fast speed of the code. We study the relation of Type Ia Supernovae (SNe Ia) with host galaxies from a large low redshift sample. By examining the Hubble residuals of the entire sample from the best-fit cosmology, we show that SNe Ia in passive hosts are brighter than those in star-forming hosts after light curve correction at 2.1{\sigma}confidence level. We find that SNe Ia in high luminosity hosts are brighter after light-curve correction at>3{\sigma}confidence level. We also find that SNe Ia in large size galaxies are brighter after light-curve correction at?2{\sigma} confidence level. The external Compton (EC) model is used to study the high energy emission of some blazars, in which the external photon field is considered to dominate inverse Compton radiation. We explore the properties of external photon field through analyzing the FERMI LAT bright AGN sample within three months detection. In the sample, assuming the high energy radiation of low synchrotron peaked blazars from the EC process, we find that the external photon parameter Uext/\nuext may not be a constant. Calculating synchrotron and inverse Compton (IC) luminosity from the quasi-simultaneous broadband spectrum energy distributions (SEDs), we find that they have an approximately linear relation. This indicates that the ratio of external photon and magnetic energy density is a constant in the comoving frame, implying that the Lorentz factor of the emitting blob depends on external photon field and magnetic field. The fast variability of energetic TeV photons from the center of M87 has been detected, offering a new clue to estimate spins of supermassive black holes (SMBHs). We extend the study of Wang et al. (2008) by including all of general relativistic effects. We numerically solve the full set of relativistic hydrodynamical equations of the radiatively inefficient accretion flows (RIAFs) and then obtain the radiation fields around the black hole. The optical depth of the radiation fields to TeV photons due to pair productions are calculated in the Kerr metric. We find that the optical depth strongly depends on: (1) accretion rates as $\tautev\propto \dot{M}^{2.5-5.0}$; (2) black hole spins; and (3) location of the TeV source. Jointly considering the optical depth and the spectral energy distribution radiated from the RIAFs, the strong degeneration of the spin with the other free parameters in the RIAF model can be largely relaxed. We apply the present model to M87, wherein the RIAFs are expected to be at work, and find that the minimum specific angular momentum of the hole is $a\sim0.8$. In this {\it Letter}, we make an attempt to estimate the masses of black holes and their distributions in BL Lac objects. We find there is a bimodal population of black hole masses in BL Lacs: the first has a lower-mass peak centred at $\sim 7.0 \times 10^6\sunm$ composed of high frequency-peaked BL Lacs (HBLs) and the second is a higher-mass ($>10^9\sunm$) population composed of low frequency-peaked BL Lacs (LBLs). The low mass family of black holes in HBLs does not satisfy the Magorrian et al. relation whereas the high mass family in LBLs does this relation and is in agreement with Laor's limit.
