We study electron-electron interaction induced states of twisted bilayer MoTe$_2$ in an out-of-plane magnetic field $B\hat{\bf z}$ near one hole per moir\'e unit cell filling. The 3D phase diagram showing the evolution of competing phases with $B$, interaction strength and an out-of-plane electric field is presented at electron fillings that follow the Diophantine equation along Chern number $-\text{sign}\left(B\right)$ line, that is pointing away from the charge neutral filling, where we find prominent Chern insulators consistent with the experiments. Twisted homobilayer transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) attracts an expanding experimental interest recently for exhibiting a variety of topological and magnetic states even at zero magnetic field. Most of the studies right now focus on hole filling nu_h < 1, while a rich phase diagram at higher hole filling calls for more investigation. We perform a thorough survey of possible interaction-driven phases at higher integer hole fillings. We first construct the continuum model from a first-principles calculation, and then perform a self-consistent Hartree-Fock study of the interacting ground states. We identify various valley polarized (VP) states at odd integer fillings and intervalley coherent (IVC) states at even integer fillings and discuss the energetics competition among them. Fractionally filled Chern bands with strong interactions may give rise to fractional Chern insulator (FCI) states, the zero-field analogue of the fractional quantum Hall effect. Recent experiments have demonstrated the existence of FCIs in twisted bilayer MoTe$_2$ without external magnetic fields -- most robust at $\nu=-2/3$ -- as well as Chern insulators (CIs) at $\nu=-1$. Although the appearance of both of these states is theoretically natural in an interacting topological system, experiments repeatedly observe nonmagnetic states (lacking FCIs) at $\nu=-1/3$ and $-4/3$, a puzzling result which has not been fully theoretically explained. In this work, we perform Hartree-Fock and exact diagonalization calculations to test whether the standard MoTe$_2$ moir\'e model with the (greatly varying) parameter values available in the literature can reproduce the non-magnetic states at $\nu=-1/3$ and $-4/3$ in unison with the FCI at $\nu=-2/3$ and CI state at $\nu = -1$. We focus on the experimentally relevant twist angles and, crucially, include remote bands. We find that the parameters proposed in [Wang et al. (2023)] can nearly capture the experimental phenomena at $\nu=-1/3,-2/3,-1,-4/3$ simultaneously, though the predicted ground states at $\nu=-1/3$ are still mostly fully-spin-polarized and a larger dielectric constant $\epsilon>10$ than is typical of hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) substrate $\epsilon\sim 6$ is required. Motivated by the observation of topological states in AB-stacked MoTe$_2$/WSe$_2$, we construct the symmetry-adapted Wannier states and tight-binding model for the quantum spin Hall bands in this system. Our construction is based on the symmetry analysis of Bloch states obtained from the continuum moir\'e Hamiltonian. For model parameters extracted from first-principles calculations, we find that the quantum spin Hall bands can be described by a tight-binding model defined on a triangular lattice. There are two Wannier states per valley, which have the same Wannier center but different angular momenta under threefold rotation. The tight-binding model not only reproduces the energy spectrum, but also accurately describes the topological phase transition induced by the out-of-plane displacement field. Our study sheds new light on the topological states in moir\'e transition metal dichalcogenides bilayers, and provides a route to addressing the many-body physics in AB-stacked MoTe$_2$/WSe$_2$., Comment: 14 pages,9 figures

Unlike image blending algorithms, video blending algorithms have been little studied. In this paper, we investigate 6 popular blending algorithms---feather blending, multi-band blending, modified Poisson blending, mean value coordinate blending, multi-spline blending and convolution pyramid blending. We consider in particular realtime panoramic video blending, a key problem in various virtual reality tasks. To evaluate the performance of the 6 algorithms on this problem, we have created a video benchmark of several videos captured under various conditions. We analyze the time and memory needed by the above 6 algorithms, for both CPU and GPU implementations (where readily parallelizable). The visual quality provided by these algorithms is also evaluated both objectively and subjectively. The video benchmark and algorithm implementations are publicly available., Comment: 13 pages
