5. Characteristics of biochemical tail water from coking wastewater and current progress in advanced treatment technologies

Abstract

Coking wastewater is one of refractory coal chemical wastewater with a high pollution load，complex organic pollutant composition and strong biological toxicity. The biochemical tail water still retains refractory organic compounds and exhibits a certain level of biological toxicity after conventional physical-chemical and biological treatment. COD fails to meet the discharge standards for pollutants from Emission Standard of Pollutants for Coking Chemical Industry （GB 16171-2012），and further processing is required. The characteristics of residual organic matter and biological toxicity in the biochemical tail water of coking wastewater were analyzed firstly. Subsequently，this review summarized the COD removal efficiency，the change rules of different organic components and biological toxicity in biochemical tail water after application of separation technologies （coagulation，adsorption，membrane filtration），transformation technologies （Fenton，catalytic ozone oxidation，electromagnetic enhanced oxidation technology，persulfate oxidation and electrochemical oxidation） and collaborative processes. It was pointed out that on the basis of understanding the characteristics of the biochemical tail water and biological toxicity transformation rules with various advanced technologies，the collaborative combination process and short process technology would be desired for the efficient treatment and the biological safety.

Abstract

Let $G$ be a finite abelian group and $p$ be the smallest prime dividing $|G|$. Let $S$ be a sequence over $G$. We say that $S$ is regular if for every proper subgroup $H \subsetneq G$, $S$ contains at most $|H|-1$ terms from $H$. Let $\mathsf c_0(G)$ be the smallest integer $t$ such that every regular sequence $S$ over $G$ of length $|S|\geq t$ forms an additive basis of $G$, i.e., $\sum(S)=G$. The invariant $\mathsf c_0(G)$ was first studied by Olson and Peng in 1980's, and since then it has been determined for all finite abelian groups except for the groups with rank 2 and a few groups of rank 3 or 4 with order less than $10^8$. In this paper, we focus on the remaining case concerning groups of rank 2. It was conjectured by Gao et al. (Acta Arith. 168 (2015) 247-267) that $\mathsf c_0(G)=m(G)$. Abstract

Based on knowledge mapping, this paper designs the application architecture of the scientific and technological knowledge management system for the power grid industry and proposes the design of key modules such as knowledge extraction, knowledge fusion and cross-checking. In terms of knowledge fusion, this paper proposes the functional design of conflict detection, entity alignment based on deep learning, data fusion based on linking and cross-validation based on confidence assessment. In terms of cross-truth, this paper investigates the credibility calculation of candidate message sets, the representation of candidate message sets, and the construction of logic rules for cross-truth models. Finally, this paper evaluates the system’s term extraction, concept recognition, and performance. The results show that the average elapsed time for each function of graph visualization, keyword search, keyword search, advanced search, and advanced search in the knowledge management system to be executed 20 times is 1.33s, 1.27s, 3.14s, 1.47s, and 3.26s, respectively, and the average response time is only 2.1s. Therefore, the knowledge management system for grid industry science and technology presented in this paper is effective.

Abstract

Aqueous zinc‐based energy storage devices have competitive advantages such as high power density, good safety, and wide source. However, because of the direct touch among zinc anode and aqueous electrolyte, dendrite growth and electrode side reactions are easy to occur in the plating and striping process, which seriously hinders the further development of aqueous zinc‐based energy storage devices. Therefore, it is urgent to solve the above problems to expand the existing energy storage devices. In this work, by adding an imidazo[1,2‐b]pyridazine (IP) electrolyte additive, the dendrites' growth and corrosion on the zinc anode surface could be effectively inhibited by the shielding‐anchoring double effects, which are verified by the comprehensive in situ and ex situ characterization techniques as well as the theoretical calculation support. Accordingly, the IP‐based electrolyte encourages extremely high stable zinc anode (cycling 2200 h at 1 mA cm−2) with high average Coulombic efficiency (98.72%). Moreover, the IP‐based Zn‐V2O5 full battery also exhibits excellent reversible capacity, reaching 160.8 mAh g−1 after 400 cycles at 2 A g−1. Through a straightforward alteration to the Zn anode surface, this study considerably enhances the use of highly stable and secure aqueous zinc‐ion batteries. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Let $\mathcal{S}$ be a finite commutative semigroup. The Davenport constant of $\mathcal{S}$, denoted $D(\mathcal{S})$, is defined to be the least positive integer $d$ such that every sequence $T$ of elements in $\mathcal{S}$ of length at least $d$ contains a subsequence $T'$ with the sum of all terms from $T'$ equaling the sum of all terms from $T$. Let $\F_p[x]$ be a polynomial ring in one variable over the prime field $\F_p$, and let $f(x)\in \F_p[x]$. In this paper, we made a study of the Davenport constant of the multiplicative semigroup of the quotient ring $\frac{\F_p[x]}{\langle f(x)\rangle}$. Among other results, we mainly prove that, for any prime $p>2$ and any polynomial $f(x)\in \F_p[x]$ which can be factorized into several pairwise non-associted irreducible polynomials in $\F_p[x]$, then $$D(\mathcal{S}_{f(x)}^p)=D(U(\mathcal{S}_{f(x)}^p)),$$ where $\mathcal{S}_{f(x)}^p$ denotes the multiplicative semigroup of the quotient ring $\frac{\F_p[x]}{\langle f(x)\rangle}$ and $U(\mathcal{S}_{f(x)}^p)$ denotes the group of units of the semigroup $\mathcal{S}_{f(x)}^p$., Comment: 9 pages

Abstract

Let G be a finite group and S a subset of G\{0}. We call S an additive basis of G if every element of G can be expressed as a sum over a nonempty subset in some order. Let cr(G) be the smallest integer t such that every subset of G\{0} of cardinality t is an additive basis of G. In this paper, we determine cr(G) for the following cases: (i) G is a finite nilpotent group; (ii) G is a group of even order which possesses a subgroup of index 2.

Abstract

Let $G$ be a finite abelian group. The critical number ${\rm cr}(G)$ of $G$ is the least positive integer $\ell$ such that every subset $A\subseteq G\setminus\{0\}$ of cardinality at least $\ell$ spans $G$, i.e., every element of $G$ can be written as a nonempty sum of distinct elements of $A$. The exact values of the critical number have been completely determined recently for all finite abelian groups. The structure of these sets of cardinality ${\rm cr}(G)-1$ which fail to span $G$ has also been characterized except for the case that $|G|$ is an even number and the case that $|G|=pq$ with $p,q$ are primes. In this paper, we characterize these extremal subsets for $|G|\geq 36$ is an even number, or $|G|=pq$ with $p,q$ are primes and $q\geq 2p+3$., Comment: Swith some notations into ones which are more popular and put the materials of Appendix into the body. Abstract

The high energy density of rechargeable metal (Li, Na, and Zn) batteries has garnered a lot of interest. However, the poor cycle stability and low Coulomb efficiency(CE), which are mostly brought on by side reactions and dendrite development on the metal anode, place a cap on commercialization. The rational design of electrolytes via incorporating a small dose of additives is a simple, yet effect strategy to address the above issues. The majority of additives govern uniform metal deposition and significantly improve the cycling performance of metal anodes. However, the battery is a complex system and the electrolyte affects both the anode and cathode. Complex reactions during discharge/charge process put forward higher requirements for the functionality of electrolytes, such as improving the stability of the cathode and flame retardant. Thus, multifunctional additives are necessary and have more advantages in building high‐performance metal batteries. The recent developments in multifunctional additives for stable and dendrite‐free Li/Na/Zn anodes are the major focus of this review. Breakthrough research on multifunctional additives toward the durable cathode and high‐compatible electrolytes is also highlighted. Finally, the critical challenges and new perspectives on the optimization of electrolyte formulation via multifunctional additives are emphasized.
