Abstract

Capacitive flexible pressure sensors, with the advantages of simple structure, reliable repeatability, and low energy consumption, have been widely used in wearable devices, soft robots, and other fields. This article describes the preparation of a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) sponge dielectric layer with a surface microstructure and dense internal bubbles by adding ammonium bicarbonate to PDMS, using sandpaper as a template, and utilizing the thermal decomposition of ammonium bicarbonate into three gases: ammonia, carbon dioxide, and water vapor (NH3, CO2, and H2O). Meanwhile, the sensitivity of the capacitive flexible pressure sensor using the sandwich structure with PDMS sponge can reach 0.4321 kPa−1 within the range of 0–3 kPa, and it has a fast response time and recovery time, good repeatability, and a wide detection range. The pressure sensor based on a porous graphene/PDMS (GR/PDMS) sponge dielectric layer can achieve human physiological signal detection and has broad application prospects in fields such as robot skin. Abstract

The use of broadband laser technology is a novel approach for inhibiting processes related to laser plasma interactions (LPIs). In this study, several preliminary experiments into broadband-laser-driven LPIs are carried out using a newly established hundreds-of-joules broadband second-harmonic-generation laser facility. Through direct comparison with LPI results for a traditional narrowband laser, the actual LPI-suppression effect of the broadband laser is shown. The broadband laser had a clear suppressive effect on both back-stimulated Raman scattering and back-stimulated Brillouin scattering at laser intensities below 1 × 1015 W cm−2. An abnormal hot-electron phenomenon is also investigated, using targets of different thicknesses. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

This paper presents a new model to study the static performances of a GaN metal epitaxial-semiconductor field effect transistor (MESFET) based on the metal–semiconductor interface state of the Schottky junction. The I–V performances of MESFET under different channel lengths and different operating systems (pinch-off or not) have been achieved by our model, which strictly depended on the electrical parameters, such as the drain-gate capacity Cgd, the source–gate capacity Cgs, the transconductance, and the conductance. To determine the accuracy of our model, root-mean-square (RMS) errors were calculated. In the experiment, the experimental data agree with our model. Also, the minimum value of the electrical parameter has been calculated to get the maximum cut-off frequency for the GaN MESFET.

Abstract

Impurity transport has been investigated on the HL-1M tokamak under the conditions of the ohmically heated discharge (OHD) and the lower hybrid current drive (LHCD). A small quantity of metallic impurity Al were injected into the plasma using the laser blow-off (LBO) technique. The ionized metallic impurity lines were measured using a vacuum ultra-violet (VUV) spectrometry. Al impurity transports in the plasma under the conditions of the OHD and LHCD were analyzed. The diffusion coefficient (D(r)) and inward convection velocity (V(r)) were obtained using numerical simulation with the impurity transport code (ITC). The simulation results showed that the transport coefficient during the LHCD decreased by fifty per cent compared with that during the OHD. Therefore the impurity-confined characteristics of the LHCD plasma was obviously improved.

Abstract

The X-ray spectrometer used in high-energy-density plasma experiments generally requires both broad X-ray energy coverage and high temporal, spatial, and spectral resolutions for overcoming the difficulties imposed by the X-ray background, debris, and mechanical shocks. By using an elliptical crystal together with a streak camera, we resolve this issue at the SG-II laser facility. The carefully designed elliptical crystal has a broad spectral coverage with high resolution, strong rejection of the diffuse and/or fluorescent background radiation, and negligible source broadening for extended sources. The spectra that are Bragg reflected (23° < θ < 38°) from the crystal are focused onto a streak camera slit 18 mm long and about 80 μm wide, to obtain a time-resolved spectrum. With experimental measurements, we demonstrate that the quartz(1011) elliptical analyzer at the SG-II laser facility has a single-shot spectral range of (4.64–6.45) keV, a typical spectral resolution of E/ΔE = 560, and an enhanced focusing power in the spectral dimension. For titanium (Ti) data, the lines of interest show a distribution as a function of time and the temporal variations of the He-α and Li-like Ti satellite lines and their spatial profiles show intensity peak red shifts. The spectrometer sensitivity is illustrated with a temporal resolution of better than 25 ps, which satisfies the near-term requirements of high-energy-density physics experiments.

Abstract

This paper is concerned with a design of robust guaranteed cost controller for linear systems with norm bounded parameter uncertainties and disturbance. Based on Riccati inequality approach, the definition of H/sub /spl infin// robust optimal guaranteed cost systems with /spl gamma/ disturbance attenuation performance was presented. Then, the design approach of a state feedback controller for optimizing the guaranteed cost was proposed. The close-loop systems we designed satisfied a given /spl gamma/ disturbance attenuation H/sub /spl infin// performance and provided a guaranteed cost and kept stability for all admissible uncertainties. Finally, an example of mill shaping process was given to demonstrate our results. The corresponding simulation results were given.
