Abstract

In this paper, we propose a single-channel speech dereverberation system (DeReGAT) based on convolutional, bidirectional long short-term memory and deep feed-forward neural network (CBLDNN) with generative adversarial training (GAT). In order to obtain better speech quality instead of only minimizing a mean square error (MSE), GAT is employed to make the dereverberated speech indistinguishable form the clean samples. Besides, our system can deal with wide range reverberation and be well adapted to variant environments. The experimental results show that the proposed model outperforms weighted prediction error (WPE) and deep neural network-based systems. In addition, DeReGAT is extended to an online speech dereverberation scenario, which reports comparable performance with the offline case., Comment: 5 pages. Accepted by Interspeech 2018

11. Effects of Combination of Water-Retaining Agent and Nitrogen Fertilizer on Soil Characteristics and Growth of Winter Wheat under Subsoiling Tillage in South Loess Plateau of China.

Abstract

This study was carried out to evaluate the effects of the combined application of water-retaining agents and nitrogen fertilizers on soil physicochemical properties, bacterial communities, and root growth under winter wheat planting mode in the Guanzhong area of Shaanxi Province. Based on the positioning experiment of dry farming in the loessal soil area of Shaanxi Province, four treatments were set up by using the tillage method of subsoiling + rotary tillage and straw returning: only fertilization (U), only water retention agent sodium polyacrylate (C3H3NaO2)n (S), combined use of water-retaining agent sodium polyacrylate (C3H3NaO2)n and fertilizer (US), and control group CK (no treatment). The ultra-high-throughput sequencing of 16S rRNA genes of soil bacteria was performed by the Illumina Hiseq platform, and the effects of different tillage measures on soil bacterial diversity and community structure were analyzed. In addition, the effects of these tillage measures on soil physicochemical properties and winter wheat root length density at booting and flowering stages were evaluated. The results indicated that the combination of the water-retaining agent and fertilizer markedly enhanced the contents of ammonium nitrogen, available phosphorus, and available potassium in the 0~20 cm soil layer, significantly increased the soil moisture content, and promoted the deep growth of roots. The root length density was 4.70 times higher than that of the control group at the booting stage. In addition, the combined application alleviated the decrease in soil microbial diversity caused by individual fertilization, especially significantly increasing the abundance of Gemmatimonadetes, Acidobacteria, and Planctomycetes in the 0~10 cm soil layer. This study reveals the potential of the combined use of water retention agents and fertilizers to optimize the soil environment and enhance winter wheat yield, which provides a scientific basis for improving local agricultural practices. 19. Preparation of Free-Standing Defect-Free ZIF-8/PVA Membranes via Confined Reaction at the Quasi-Interface

Abstract

Developing a facile strategy to synthesize free-standing defect-free metal–organic framework (MOF) membranes with high separation selectivity and good mechanical stability is very appealing but challenging. Herein, by confining the reaction of metal and ligand at the quasi-interface, a representative membrane composed of a continuous ZIF-8 layer and poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) was fabricated. The continuous ZIF-8 layer endowed the membrane with high separation efficiency, while PVA acted as a filler to eliminate the defection, synergistically achieving high selective ion transport and good mechanical stability. The continuous defect-free ZIF-8/PVA membrane showed excellent separation performance of selective ion transport with high Li+permeance of 17.83 mol·m–2·h–1as well as decent Li+/Mg2+and Li+/Ca2+selectivities of 24.60 and 244.58, respectively. The separation performance of the ZIF-8/PVA membrane remained stable after 10% strain, indicating its good mechanical stability. This work will promote the development of MOF-based membranes in practical applications.

Abstract

The preparation of single crystals, especially large-size ones, is highly important but challenging. Herein, exploiting the special nucleation and growth environment provided by the Marangoni effect, we synthesised oriented centimetre-sized Zn-MOF crystals. These large-size single crystals can be employed for separation of mixed-ionic dyes without any further processing. Abstract

We report a one-step method to fabricate a free-standing supramolecular membrane composed of melamine and barbituric acid coordinated with silver nitrate (Mba–Ag) at the gas/liquid interface by a soft spray technique. MBa–Ag exhibits a folded two-dimensional layered morphology and thickness of 4.5 μm. The shortwave IR transmittance of MBa–Ag is as high as 95%, which is much higher than the transmittance of UV and visible light, and has the potential for electromagnetic wave transmission.
