The corrosion resistance of Ti 3 AlC 2 is an indispensable characteristic in its practical applications, and the focus of this study is to optimize its mechanical and corrosion properties by introducing metal ions at the M-sites of Ti 3 AlC 2. Utilizing Ti/Al/C/Zr/Mo/Cr powders, (Ti 0.8 X 0.2) 3 AlC 2 solid solutions were synthesized via reactive hot pressing, with XRD and SEM analyses confirming the formation of MAX phases. Results revealed varying degrees of influence on the properties of Ti 3 AlC 2 due to different doping elements. Among these, Zr-doped samples exhibited superior mechanical properties, boasting excellent hardness (511 Hv), flexural strength (386.57 MPa), and fracture toughness (10.24 MPa m1/2). Additionally, all (Ti 0.8 X 0.2) 3 AlC 2 samples formed n-type semiconductor passive layers in 3.5% NaCl solution, demonstrating outstanding corrosion resistance. Further investigation revealed that the enhancement in mechanical properties stems from solid solution strengthening and lattice distortion induced by different metallic elements. Meanwhile, the corrosion resistance is primarily attributed to alterations in electron distribution resulting from doping elements. These stable materials could find applications in electroplating wastewater treatment, where materials with excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance are required. Purpose: The preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A) platform is not currently available for small copy-number variants (CNVs), especially those < 1 Mb. Through strategies used in PGT for monogenic disease (PGT-M), this study intended to perform PGT for families with small pathogenic CNVs. Methods: Couples who carried small pathogenic CNVs and underwent PGT at the Reproductive and Genetic Hospital of CITIC-Xiangya (Hunan, China) between November 2019 and April 2023 were included in this study. Haplotype analysis was performed through two platforms (targeted sequencing and whole-genome arrays) to identify the unaffected embryos, which were subjected to transplantation. Prenatal diagnosis using amniotic fluid was performed during 18–20 weeks of pregnancy. Results: PGT was successfully performed for 20 small CNVs (15 microdeletions and 5 microduplications) in 20 families. These CNVs distributed on chromosomes 1, 2, 6, 7, 13, 15, 16, and X with sizes ranging from 57 to 2120 kb. Three haplotyping-based PGT-M strategies were applied. A total of 89 embryos were identified in 25 PGT cycles for the 20 families. The diagnostic yield was 98.9% (88/89). Nineteen transfers were performed for 17 women, resulting in a 78.9% (15/19) clinical pregnancy rate after each transplantation. Of the nine women who had healthy babies, eight accepted prenatal diagnosis and the results showed no related pathogenic CNVs. Conclusion: Our results show that the extended haplotyping-based PGT-M strategy application for small pathogenic CNVs compensated for the insufficient resolution of PGT-A. Background/Aims: Sinomenine, a pure alkaloid extracted from the Chinese medicinal plant Sinomenium acutum, and sinomenine hydrochloride (SN) has been successfully used for the therapy of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and kidney diseases. Autophagy is a cytoprotective mechanism used by podocytes and other cells to alleviate the effects of oxidative stress, and angiotensin II (Ang II) significantly promotes podocyte autophagy. However, excessive autophagy may lead to cell death and podocyte depletion. The present study evaluated the effect of SN in podocytes induced by Ang II. Methods: Podocytes were pretreated with graded concentrations (10-8 M ∼ 10-4 M) of SN and then stimulated with Ang II. The LC3B protein and the p47-phox membrane fraction were measured by Western blot. Autolysosomes were assessed by transmission electron microscopy. FACS was used to quantify the ROS produced by podocytes. The translocation of p47-phox to the membrane was investigated by immunofluorescence. Results: The 10-8 M ∼ 10-4 M of SN alone did not effect ROS generation or podocyte autophagy. The 10-8 M and 10-6 M SN attenuated Ang II-induced autophagy in podocytes. Furthermore, SN decreased the level of ROS generation in Ang II-induced podocytes via inhibition of NOX subunit p47-phox translocation to the membrane. Conclusion: The appropriate concentration of SN attenuated Ang II-induced podocyte autophagy through ROS generation, at least in part, by regulating NOX subunit p47-phox translocation to the membrane. For the air-to-air missile warhead, there is a cabin with a certain thickness at a distance around the fragments. At present, the influence of missile cabin has not yet been taken into account in the study of fragment velocity. In this paper, based on the law of conservation of energy, the theoretical equation of fragment velocity considering the kinetic energy of cabin debris was deduced. Then, the rationality of the theoretical formula is validated through the static explosion experiments of two prototype warheads, one with a titanium alloy cabin and the other without any cabin. It was found that after the warhead is equipped with the cabin, part of the energy is consumed to drive the cabin debris, resulting in a decrease in fragment velocity, but the velocity of cabin debris was greater than that of fragment of warheads without any cabin. Besides, through numerical simulation, the driving process of fragments and cabin debris during explosive detonation loading of the warhead with the cabin was studied, which can be divided into six stages, and the error between numerical result and experimental value is not more than 4.8%. Finally, the variety regulation of fragment velocity and cabin debris velocity at different interval distances was further studied by numerical simulation. The results indicate that fragment velocity of warheads with cabin at different interval distances is basically the same, but cabin debris velocity decreases with the increase of interval distance. The role of long non-coding RNA (lncRNAs) in biological processes remains poorly understood, despite their significant impact. Our previous research discovered that the expression of AL137782.1, a long transcript of the novel lncRNA ENSG00000261553, is upregulated in lung epithelial cells upon exposure to microbes. Furthermore, the expression of AL137782.1 exhibits variability between para-cancerous and lung adenocarcinoma samples. These findings imply that this lncRNA may play a role in both normal lung epithelial cellular processes and pathophysiology. To elucidate the function of AL137782.1 in lung epithelial cells, we utilized bioinformatics retrieval and analysis to examine its expression. We then analyzed its subcellular localization using fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and subcellular fractionation. Through rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE), we confirmed the presence of a 4401 nt lncRNA AL137782.1 in lung epithelial cells. Moreover, we discovered that this lncRNA positively regulates both mRNA and the protein expression of LMO7, a protein that may regulate the cell migration of normal lung epithelial cells. Although the overexpression of AL137782.1 has been shown to enhance the migration of both normal lung epithelial cells and lung adenocarcinoma cells in vitro, our study revealed that the expression of this lncRNA was significantly decreased in lung cancers compared to adjacent tissues. This suggests that the cell migration pattern regulated by the AL137782.1–LMO7 axis is more likely to occur in normal lung epithelial cells, rather than being a pathway that promotes lung cancer cell migration. Therefore, our study provides new insights into the mechanism underlying cell migration in human lung epithelial cells. Currently, materials that absorb electromagnetic waves (EMW) are being increasingly studied and used. In particular, numerous attempts have been made to improve the performance of EMW-absorbing ceramics, but little attention was paid to the effect of doping on their relevant properties. In this work, Ti 3 AlC 2 , a typical MAX-phase ceramic, was doped with different elements (Zr, Mo, Cr, Fe and Ni) at the M site via a pressure-free reactive sintering. Phase and microstructure analysis show that the doped Ti 3 AlC 2 samples possess high purities and typical layered structures. It was noticed that (Ti 0.8 Zr 0.2) 3 AlC 2 demonstrates the lowest reflection loss (−48.0 dB at the thickness of 1.62 mm) and a maximum effective absorption bandwidth of 3.9 GHz. Elemental doping has been proved to alter the dielectric and magnetic properties of Ti 3 AlC 2 , and the boosted EMW absorption performance was found to be originated from the improved impedance matching. Here, we systematically investigated the influence of different dopants on the EMW absorption characteristics of Ti 3 AlC 2 , which provides significant insights for the future design of novel EMW-absorbing materials. STUDY QUESTION Can whole-exome sequencing (WES) reveal new genetic factors responsible for male infertility characterized by oligozoospermia? SUMMARY ANSWER We identified biallelic missense variants in the Potassium Channel Tetramerization Domain Containing 19 gene (KCTD19) and confirmed it to be a novel pathogenic gene for male infertility. WHAT IS KNOWN ALREADY KCTD19 is a key transcriptional regulator that plays an indispensable role in male fertility by regulating meiotic progression. Kctd19 gene-disrupted male mice exhibit infertility due to meiotic arrest. STUDY DESIGN, SIZE, DURATION We recruited a cohort of 536 individuals with idiopathic oligozoospermia from 2014 to 2022 and focused on five infertile males from three unrelated families. Semen analysis data and ICSI outcomes were collected. WES and homozygosity mapping were performed to identify potential pathogenic variants. The pathogenicity of the identified variants was investigated in silico and in vitro. PARTICIPANTS/MATERIALS, SETTING, METHODS Male patients diagnosed with primary infertility were recruited from the Reproductive and Genetic Hospital of CITIC-Xiangya. Genomic DNA extracted from affected individuals was used for WES and Sanger sequencing. Sperm phenotype, sperm nuclear maturity, chromosome aneuploidy, and sperm ultrastructure were assessed using hematoxylin and eosin staining and toluidine blue staining, FISH and transmission electron microscopy. The functional effects of the identified variants in HEK293T cells were investigated via western blotting and immunofluorescence. MAIN RESULTS AND THE ROLE OF CHANCE We identified three homozygous missense variants (NM_001100915, c.G628A:p.E210K, c.C893T:p.P298L, and c.G2309A:p.G770D) in KCTD19 in five infertile males from three unrelated families. Abnormal morphology of the sperm heads with immature nuclei and/or nuclear aneuploidy were frequently observed in individuals with biallelic KCTD19 variants, and ICSI was unable to rescue these deficiencies. These variants reduced the abundance of KCTD19 due to increased ubiquitination and impaired its nuclear colocalization with its functional partner, zinc finger protein 541 (ZFP541), in HEK293T cells. LIMITATIONS, REASONS FOR CAUTION The exact pathogenic mechanism remains unclear, and warrants further studies using knock-in mice that mimic the missense mutations found in individuals with biallelic KCTD19 variants. WIDER IMPLICATIONS OF THE FINDINGS Our study is the first to report a likely causal relationship between KCTD19 deficiency and male infertility, confirming the critical role of KCTD19 in human reproduction. Additionally, this study provided evidence for the poor ICSI clinical outcomes in individuals with biallelic KCTD19 variants, which may guide clinical treatment strategies. The concept of prospective memory has been suggested as a way of theorising the importance of forward-looking memory in mediated accounts of past events. As yet, however, there was insufficient work to analyse the relationship between retrospective and prospective memory especially in collaborative journalistic cultures where one might expect the importance of prospective memory to be significant. Here, we apply the concept of mediated prospective memory, together with retrospective memory, to understand the commemoration of the end of the Second World War in China. We compare the commemoration—or indeed the absence of commemoration—in the People's Daily over the last seven decades, showing how the Second World War was retrospectively remembered, which remaining geopolitical or domestic tasks the Chinese people were reminded of prospectively, and how retrospective memory has been reinterpreted over time in order to construct a narrative suiting the perceived changing needs of the future. Through doing so we contribute methodological and conceptual resources for the analysis of the relationship between retrospective and prospective mediated memory and commemorative journalism beyond China. Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei (EHP), a microsporidian responsible for hepatopancreatic microsporidiosis, is a major pathogen in commercial shrimp production. Among the affected species, Palaemon carinicauda (formerly Exopalaemon carinicauda) is commercially important in China and represents a potential research model for studying crustaceans. However, little information is available on its response to EHP infection. Hence, this study analyzed the transcriptome and metabolome of P. carinicauda's hepatopancreas using high-throughput sequencing and liquid chromatograph-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) to determine its response during the early stage of infection. The transcriptomic analyses identified 730 differentially expressed genes, of which those associated with EHP infection were enriched in metabolic pathways as well as detoxification and antioxidant pathways. In addition, 144 differential metabolites were identified using a combination of positive and negative ion modes in LC-MS. The Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes pathway analyses further indicated that the degradation of aromatic compounds, the AMP-activated protein kinase signaling pathway and C5-branched dibasic acid metabolism were significantly enriched after EHP infection. These results could provide useful insights into the effects of EHP on shrimps during the early stages of infection and help to understand the mechanisms underlying the stunted growth of shrimps after infection. Background: Meiosis is an essential stage in the life cycle of sexually reproducing species, underlying formation of haploid gametes and serving as the basis of genetic diversity. A central mechanism of meiosis is recombination between homologous chromosomes, during which programmed DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) are sequentially repaired to form the crossovers essential for faithful chromosomal segregation. Aberrant meiotic recombination often leads to gametogenic failure or produces aneuploid gametes resulting in subfertility or infertility, miscarriage or birth defects.Objective and Rationale: The goal of this review was to characterize the molecular mechanisms of meiotic recombination and related human infertility disorders, particularly male infertility caused by non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA).Search Methods: Our search included PubMed database articles, focusing mainly on English-language publications dated between January 2016 and February 2022. The search term 'meiosis' was combined with the following keywords: meiotic initiation, chromosome pairing, homologous recombination, chromosome axis, DSB, DSB repair, crossover, meiotic sex chromosome inactivation, meiotic checkpoints, meiotic arrest, NOA, premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) or premature ovarian failure, treatment and cancer. In addition, references within these articles were used to identify additional studies.Outcomes: The preliminary search generated ∼3500 records. The majority of articles were identified as meeting abstracts or duplicates, contained non-English text or provided insufficient data and were therefore eliminated. A total of 271 articles associated with meiotic recombination were included in the final analysis. This review provides an overview of molecules and mechanisms involved in meiotic recombination processes, specifically meiosis-specific chromosome structures, DSB formation, homology search, formation of recombination intermediates and crossover formation. The cumulative results suggest that meiosis is regulated sequentially by a series of meiotic recombination genes and proteins. Importantly, mutations in these genes often affect meiotic progression, activating meiotic checkpoints, causing germ cell arrest and leading to subfertility or infertility. At least 26 meiotic recombination-related genes have been reported to be mutated in NOA in men, and 10 of these genes are mutated in POI in women. This suggests that variants of meiotic recombination-related genes can cause human subfertility or infertility, especially NOA.Wider Implications: Understanding the processes of homologous chromosome pairing, recombination and timely resolution of homologous chromosomes may provide guidance for the analysis of potential monogenetic causes of human subfertility or infertility and the development of personalized treatments. In clinical practice, we can develop a meiotic recombination-related gene panel to screen for gene mutations in individuals with subfertility or infertility. Testicular sperm extraction should not be recommended when an NOA-affected individual carries definite disease-causing mutations of a meiotic gene, so as to avoid the unnecessary invasive diagnosis. Risk of ovarian dysfunction should be evaluated if a woman carries meiotic recombination-related gene mutations. As the network slicing is one of the critical enablers in communication networks, one anomalous physical node (PN) or physical link (PL) in substrate networks that carries multiple virtual network elements can cause significant performance degradation of multiple network slices. To recover the substrate networks from anomaly within a short time, rapid and accurate identification of whether or not the anomaly exists in PNs and PLs is vital. Online anomaly detection methods that can analyze system data in real-time are preferred. Besides, as virtual nodes and links mapped to PNs and PLs are scattered in multiple slices, the distributed detection modes are required to adapt to the virtualized environment. According to those requirements, in this paper, we first propose a distributed online PN anomaly detection algorithm based on a decentralized one-class support vector machine (OCSVM), which is realized through analyzing real-time measurements of virtual nodes mapped to PNs in a distributed manner. Specifically, to decouple the OCSVM objective function, we transform the original problem to a group of decentralized quadratic programming problems by introducing the consensus constraints. The alternating direction method of multipliers is adopted to achieve the solution for the distributed online PN anomaly detection. Next, by utilizing the correlation of measurements between neighbor virtual nodes, another distributed online PL anomaly detection algorithm based on the canonical correlation analysis is proposed. The network only needs to store covariance matrices and mean vectors of current data to calculate the canonical correlation vectors for real-time PL anomaly analysis. The atomic scale local structures affect the initiation performance of ultra-fine explosives according to the stimulation results of hot spot formation. However, the experimental characterization of local structures in ultra-fine explosives has been rarely reported, due to the difficulty in application of characterization methods having both high resolution in and small damage to unstable organic explosive materials. In this work, X-ray total scattering was explored to investigate the atomic scale local distortion of two widely applicable ultra-fine explosives, LLM-105 and HNS. The experimental spectra of atomic pair distribution function (PDF) derived from scattering results were fitted by assuming rigid ring structures in molecules. The effects of grain refinement and thermal aging on the atomic scale local structure were investigated, and the changes in both the length of covalent bonds have been identified. Results indicate that by decreasing the particle size of LLM-105 and HNS from hundreds of microns to hundreds of nanometers, the crystal structures remain, whereas the molecular configuration slightly changes and the degree of structural disorder increases. For example, the average length of covalent bonds in LLM-105 reduces from 1.25 Å to 1.15 Å, whereas that in HNS increases from 1.25 Å to 1.30 Å, which is possibly related to the incomplete crystallization process and internal stress. After thermal aging of ultra-fine LLM-105 and HNS, the degree of structural disorder decreases, and the distortion in molecules formed in the synthesis process gradually healed. The average length of covalent bonds in LLM-105 increases from 1.15 Å to 1.27 Å, whereas that in HNS reduces from 1.30 Å to 1.20 Å. The possible reason is that the atomic vibration in the molecule intensifies during the heat aging treatment, and the internal stress was released through changes in molecular configuration, and thus the atomic scale distortion gradually heals. The characterization method and findings in local structures obtained in this work may pave the path to deeply understand the relationship between the defects and performance of ultra-fine explosives. How to deal with the brittleness of ceramic materials is always one of the hot topics in the field of materials science. Design of layered ceramics with textured structure is one of the effective methods to improve their fracture toughness. The introduction of additives as interlayer phases can balance fracture toughness and flexural strength. However, the research about addition of interlayer phases and their mechanisms in the layered ceramics is still limited. In this work, nacre-like alumina ceramics were successfully fabricated by freeze casting followed by hot pressing. Silicon nitride was incorporated as the interlayer phase, and the effect on the mechanical properties of the nacre-like alumina was investigated. The addition of silicon nitride was beneficial to improvement of interlayer bonding between the alumina layers due to formation of sialon phase, leading to increase of flexural strength but decease of fracture toughness. When the content of silicon nitride was 3.3 wt%, flexural strength and fracture toughness of the sample was 468 MPa and 6.2 MPa m1/2, respectively. Compared with the sample without silicon nitride, the flexural strength was enhanced significantly. Additionally, both flexural strength and fracture toughness were improved as compared the sample without any additives. This work can provide available references for design and fabrication of high-strength and high-toughness ceramics by properly tuning the layer structure and interlayer phase composition. As sustainable modes of transport, walking and cycling are the major choices for short trips. The mixed flow of pedestrians and bicycles is often observed on the roads, but its dynamics and conflict risks have not been well investigated. As commonly observed, pedestrians walk along the road boundaries in the pedestrian-bicycle shared roads. When two or more bicycles share the road, the rear bicycle may choose to either follow or overtake the preceding bicycle under specific criteria. To better reproduce this phenomenon, this study proposed a modified social model. Specifically, self-driving force, force from boundaries, force from other pedestrians and force from bicycles were considered in simulating pedestrian movement. Additionally, the modeling of bicycle movement explicitly takes into account the behavior force for following or overtaking the preceding bicycle. YOLO v5 object detection and DeepSORT multi-object tracking algorithms were applied to extract pedestrian and bicycle trajectories captured by the camera on an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Then the model was calibrated using a genetic algorithm to minimize the discrepancy between the simulated and observed trajectories. Under both unidirectional and bidirectional flow scenarios, the proposed model demonstrates good accuracy in reproducing individual movements and lane-formation phenomena for bidirectional pedestrian-bicycle mixed flows. Furthermore, the calibrated model was applied to evaluate the conflict risk of pedestrians and bicycles in a straight road and an intersection on campus. The safety assessment results indicate that lower density and fewer bicycles in the mixed flow can effectively reduce the risk of conflicts. This study can help understand interactions of pedestrians and cyclists in mixed flow conditions and provide theoretical support for the planning and safety evaluation of pedestrian-bicycle shared roads. • Antifungal prophylaxis guidance is important for pediatric liver transplant patients. • We conducted a case-control study to determine a suitable prophylaxis strategy. • Universal prophylaxis is a protective factor for fungal bloodstream infection. • Universal prophylaxis can decrease the occurrence of fungal bloodstream infections. Fungal bloodstream infection (fBSI) following pediatric liver transplantation presents a significant challenge; however, there remains a paucity of guidance regarding antifungal prophylaxis in this population. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of universal antifungal prophylaxis and propose a desirable strategy. We enrolled 604 pediatric patients who underwent liver transplantation between 2020 and 2023, including 242 patients with empirical prophylaxis and 362 patients with universal prophylaxis. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed to identify independent factors for fBSI. Eight (2.2%) pediatric recipients in the universal prophylaxis group and 13 (5.4%) in the empirical group developed fBSI (P = 0.038). Universal prophylaxis was a protective factor (P = 0.044), while high-volume intraoperative plasma transfusion and deceased donor liver transplantation were independent risk factors for fBSI (P = 0.035 and 0.008, respectively). Universal antifungal strategy showed an increased overall survival trend after liver transplantation although without significant statistical difference (P = 0.217). Patients with fBSI had poorer survival than those without fBSI (P <0.001). Universal prophylaxis strategy for fBSI in pediatrics after liver transplantation is desirable as it could markedly decrease the occurrence of fBSI. Silica is one of the most widely used ceramics due to its excellent chemical stability and dielectric property. However, its destructive brittle nature inhabits it from wider application as a functional ceramic. An improvement in toughness is a challenging topic for silica ceramic, as well as other ceramics. In the paper, silica ceramic with different types of boron nitride powders and alumina platelets was fabricated by hot-pressing. Introduction of the additives had great influence on the composites' mechanical properties and microstructure. The silica matrix composite containing micro-sized boron nitride powders possessed the best mechanical properties, including the bending strength (134.5 MPa) and the fracture toughness (1.85 Mpa·m1/2). Meanwhile, the introduction of alumina platelets combined with boron nitride nanosheets achieved an effective enhancement of fracture toughness while maintaining the bending strength. Compared with the monolithic silica, the composite with simultaneous addition of alumina platelets and boron nitride nanosheets had a fracture toughness of 2.23 Mpa·m1/2, increased by approximately 27% (1.75 Mpa·m1/2). The crack deflection and platelet pullout were contributing to enhancement of the fracture toughness. Alumina is one of the most commonly used and researched structural ceramic because of its excellent properties. However, its intrinsic brittleness is the fatal drawback, which hinders it from wider applications. How to improve its fracture toughness as well as the bending strength is always challenging for material researchers. In this paper, alumina matrix composites were fabricated by hot-pressing, in which some additives, including zirconia, alumina platelets, and MXene, were incorporated. The influence of the introduced additives on their microstructure and mechanical properties was investigated. Compare with the monolithic alumina, both bending strength and fracture toughness of all samples were improved greatly. Incorporation of zirconia was beneficial to the mechanical properties due to the phase-transformation strengthening and toughening mechanism. While alumina platelets resulted in high fracture toughness because of the self-toughening of elongated grains. The synergistic effect of alumina platelets and MXene enormously improved the fracture toughness from 2.9 ± 0.3 MPa·m1/2 for monolithic alumina to 7.5 ± 0.4 MPa·m1/2 for the composite, which was increased by 159%. To overcome the relative weak stability and reproducibility of solid substrates and the long no-signal duration before the short signal-on period of dynamic SERS (D-SERS) strategies, we introduced an electrostatic attraction between the molecule and the D-SERS substrate. The synergistic effect between capillary force and electrostatic attraction during D-SERS measurements improves the SERS sensitivity by 2–3 orders of magnitude compared to that for a solid SERS substrate prepared via liquid–liquid interface self-assembly. High-entropy RE 3 MO 7 -type ceramics with multiple cations at RE and M sites have been successfully fabricated via solid-state reaction method. The microstructure and thermal properties of two compositions, namely (Y 1/3 Yb 1/3 Er 1/3) 3 (Nb 1/2 Ta 1/2)O 7 and (Y 1/3 Yb 1/3 Er 1/3) 3 (Nb 1/3 Ta 1/3 Mo 1/3)O 7 , are studied. The XRD Rietveld refinement, transmission electron microscopy and scanning electron microscopy results demonstrate that the samples have pure disordered defective fluorite structure with highly homogeneous composition. These high entropy ceramics exhibit good thermal stability, high thermal expansion coefficients (11.1–11.5 × 10−6 K−1, 1000 °C), and low thermal conductivities (0.91–1.16 W m−1 K−1, 30–1000 °C), which make them promising for applications as thermal barrier coating materials. The buckling behaviour of combined shells fabricated from aluminium alloy and carbon fiber–reinforced polymer (CFRP) composites subjected to external hydrostatic pressure were investigated. Three sets of combined cylindrical shells with different combinations and one set of bare aluminium alloy cylindrical shells were designed and fabricated. The wall thickness of each cylindrical shell was measured. All the cylindrical shells were tested under external hydrostatic pressure, and the buckling load and final collapsed mode were recorded. Numerical models with real imperfections were established, linear and nonlinear analyses were performed to evaluate the buckling loads of cylindrical shells. The experimental and numerical results agreed favourably. On this basis, the effects of the thickness-diameter ratio, combination method and geometric imperfection on the buckling of combined cylinders were studied. A new eutectic high-entropy alloy (EHEA) of Cr 41 CoFeNi was prepared by arc melting technique. The microstructure and corrosion resistance of the Cr 41 CoFeNi EHEA were systematically investigated by EBSD, TEM, EIS and XPS analyses. The results revealed that the Cr 41 CoFeNi EHEA showed a dual-phase structure consisting of BCC phase and FCC phase, and the morphologies displayed the lamellar eutectic and network-shaped eutectic. Compared with 316 L stainless steel, the Cr 41 CoFeNi EHEA exhibited a better anti-corrosion property in 0.5 M H 2 SO 4 solution. This was mainly attributed to the formation of a dense and stable Cr-oxide layer on the surface of Cr 41 CoFeNi EHEA, which retarded further dissolution of the matrix. Moreover, bound water could adsorb metal ions to form a new protective film, which played an important role in improving the corrosion resistance of the Cr 41 CoFeNi EHEA. However, the elemental segregation and chemical potential difference between phases increased the defects in the passive film and accelerated its pitting corrosion of low potential phase. The mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of binderless tungsten carbide largely determine its performance and lifespan in complex industrial environments. Herein, WC-1Y 2 O 3 -xSiC w (x = 0, 0.5, 1, and 2 wt%) was prepared using the hot-press sintering. The mechanical properties of the composite, as well as the corrosion resistance of optimized mechanical properties in an aggressive medium (0.05 M H 2 SO 4 and 1 M NaOH) were investigated. Results showed that SiC w could significantly increase mechanical properties of the composite, but excessive content (2 wt%) leads to whiskers aggregation and lower properties. The flexural strength and fracture toughness are all increased to varying degrees with whisker content. WC-1Y 2 O 3 -0.5SiC w possesses the optimal mechanical properties. The Vickers hardness, fracture toughness, and flexural strength are 2331.24 HV 30 , 8.59 MPa·m1/2, and 1727 MPa, respectively. Electrochemical tests show that the corrosion resistance of the WC-1Y 2 O 3 -0.5SiC w in H 2 SO 4 is higher than that in NaOH solution, and its corrosion resistance in H 2 SO 4 solution increases, but that of the NaOH solution decreases with exposure time. Detailed characterization demonstrated that a dense WO 3 film forms in the H 2 SO 4 solution, resulting in a flatter corrosion surface. Synergic effect of graphene oxide (GO) and silicon nitride whisker (Si 3 N 4 w) on the mechanical properties of nacre-like alumina was investigated in this study. A comprehensive analysis on the composites, including microstructure, relative densities, flexural strength and fracture toughness, was carried out. The experimental results showed that, GO promoted the fracture toughness of the composites, but reduced the flexural strength slightly; while adding a certain amount of Si 3 N 4 w improved both flexural strength and fracture toughness. With the incorporation of GO and Si 3 N 4 w, the highest flexural strength reached 520 MPa and the fracture toughness reached 9.59 MPa m1/2. Microstructure observation revealed that the enhanced mechanical properties were ascribed to the synergistic toughening mechanisms induced by the nacre-like structure of alumina, GO pull-out, Si 3 N 4 w pinning and pull-out. This study was to investigate the value of ultrasound technology based on the bilateral filtering noise elimination algorithm in evaluating the neuroprotective effect of monosialoganglioside in ketamine-anesthetized Parkinson's disease patients. The research subjects were 75 patients with Parkinson's disease admitted to the hospital. The patients were randomly divided into three groups according to different treatment methods: A (GM1 + ketamine anesthesia group), B (conventional treatment + ketamine anesthesia group), and C (GM1 + nonketamine anesthesia group), with 25 patients in each group. Twenty-five healthy people with similar general data in the three groups (groups A, B, and C) were also selected as the control group (group D). All patients underwent ultrasonography, and ultrasound images were processed using the bilateral filter noise elimination. Structural similarity (SSIM), mean absolute error (MAE), and peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) were used to evaluate the treatment effect. Plasma phospholipids, the third part of the PD unified score scale, Montreal cognitive assessment scale, and other indicators were analyzed and compared among the four groups. The bilateral filtering image noise was effectively suppressed, and the edge details were kept well. Some of the weak edges and texture information in the image were eliminated, the visual effect was ideal, and the accuracy of the edges of the picture remained good. The serotonin lipid level in group A was greatly lower than the serum phospholipid level in group B after GM1 treatment (6.55 VS 7.84, P < 0.05). Compared with that before treatment, the serotonin lipid level of group A patients decreased after the treatment, and the difference was considerable (7.46 VS 6.55, P < 0.05). To predict pedestrian movement is of vital importance in a wide range of applications. Recently, data-driven models are receiving increasing attention in pedestrian dynamics studies, demonstrating a great potential in enhancing simulation performance. This paper presents a pedestrian movement simulation model based on the artificial neural network, in which two submodels are, respectively, used to predict velocity displacement and velocity direction angle at each time step. Destination information, the pedestrian's historical movement information, neighboring pedestrians, and environmental obstacles within a semicircular-shaped perception area are used as inputs to learn pedestrian movement behavioral rules. In the velocity direction angle submodel, a novel division method on pedestrian's perception area is adopted. Specifically, perception radius is divided into several bands, and perception angle range is divided into a number of sectors, establishing a weighted spatial matrix to represent varied influences of neighboring pedestrians and obstacles. Experiments on two typical scenarios, the unidirectional flow and bidirectional flow in a long straight corridor, were conducted to obtain pedestrian movement datasets. Then, a series of simulation cases were conducted to investigate the proper values for critical parameters, including perception radius, perception angle division, weights of the spatial matrix, and historical movement adoption. In comparison of pedestrian trajectory between simulation results and real data, the mean trajectory error (MTE) and mean destination error (MDE) are, respectively, 0.114 m and 0.171 m in the unidirectional flow scenario, which are, respectively, 0.204 m and 0.362 m in the bidirectional flow scenario. In addition, the fundamental diagram representing density-velocity and density-flow relationships in simulation results agree well with that in real data. • Clinical and dosimetric risk factors for symptomatic RP after SBRT were analyzed in a large series of patients. • Respiratory comorbidity, previous lung radiation, right lung location, BED10 of the prescription dose, MLD and V20 of total lungs, and MLD of ipsilateral lung were significant factors for higher risk of symptomatic RP. • Should the risk of RP2 be limited less than 10%, the mean doses of total lung and ipsilateral lung be constrained to less than 6 Gy and 20 Gy, respectively. Radiation pneumonitis (RP) can be a potential fatal toxicity of stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for medically inoperable non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This study aimed to examine the risk factors that predict RP and explore dosimetric tolerance for safe practice in a large institutional series of NSCLC patients. Patients with early-stage and locally recurrent NSCLC who received lung SBRT between 2002 and 2015 formed the study population. The primary endpoint was grade 2 or above radiation pneumonitis (RP2). Lungs were re-contoured consistently by one radiation oncologist according to the RTOG atlas for organs at risk. Dosimetric factors were computed consistently with exclusion of gross tumor volume of either ipsilateral, contralateral, or total lungs. A total of 339 patients were eligible. With a median follow-up of 47 months, RP2 was recorded in 10% patients. History of respiratory comorbidity, previous thoracic radiation, right lung location, mean lung doses of total or ipsilateral lung, and total lung volume receiving 20 Gy were all significantly associated with the risk of RP2. The dosimetric parameters of contralateral lung, including mean dose and volume receiving more than 5, 10, and 20 Gy, were not significantly associated with RP2 (ps > 0.05). A model of combining significant clinical and dosimetric factors had a predictive accuracy AUC of 0.76. According to this model, RP2 can be limited to <10% should the patient have no previous lung radiation and the mean dose of total and ipsilateral lungs be kept less than 6 Gy and 20 Gy, respectively. Dosimetric factors of total or ipsilateral lung together with important clinical factors were significant risk factors for symptomatic radiation pneumonitis after SBRT. The CoNiCr x (x = 1, 1.4, 1.8, and 2) medium-entropy alloys were synthesized by vacuum arc-melting method to systematically investigate the roles of Cr on microstructures and mechanical properties. The results of microstructural characteristics indicated that both CoNiCr and CoNiCr 1.4 alloys have a single face-centered cubic (FCC) structure, while CoNiCr 1.8 and CoNiCr 2 alloys consist of FCC plus body-centered cubic (BCC) hypoeutectic and eutectic. The formation of FCC and BCC phases could be probably evaluated using the VEC criteria. The tested mechanical properties demonstrated that CoNiCr 1.8 alloy exhibited the best comprehensive properties at room and liquid nitrogen temperatures (RT and LNT), whereas the yield strength and hardness of CoNiCr 2 alloy were higher than those of other alloys, which may be mainly attributed to the second-phase strengthening and the fine and lamellar microstructure. The yield strength of CoNiCr 2 alloy at RT and LNT was 3.8 and 1.9 times (514 MPa and 825 MPa) that of CoNiCr alloy. With the continuous development of microwave technology, the electromagnetic (EM) environment we face is becoming increasingly complex. EM wave absorbing materials, which convert EM wave energy into other forms of energy such as thermal energy, have attracted much attention in EM shielding technology for reducing and isolating EM interference. Finding absorbing materials with both strong and wideband absorption performance in 2–18 GHz is particularly important. In this paper, (Zr 0.2 Ti 0.2 Hf 0.2 Ta 0.2 Cr 0.2)C, (Zr 0.2 Ti 0.2 Hf 0.2 Ta 0.2 Ni 0.2)C, (Zr 0.2 Ti 0.2 Hf 0.2 Nb 0.2 Cr 0.2)C and (Zr 0.2 Ti 0.2 Hf 0.2 Nb 0.2 Ni 0.2)C high-entropy carbide powders were prepared through calculation and design, and their properties were compared with TaC and NbC. According to the analysis of phase composition, microstructure, and EM wave absorption performance, the prepared high-entropy carbides have formed single-phase solid solutions, and their absorption performance has been improved. It can be noted that (Zr 0.2 Ti 0.2 Hf 0.2 Nb 0.2 Ni 0.2)C has the minimum reflection loss (RL) of − 42.61 dB, and it has the maximum effective absorption bandwidth (E AB) of 3.60 GHz at the thickness of 1.00 mm. Through the analysis of EM parameters, it was found that high-entropy carbides with different compositions changed the dielectric loss, magnetic loss, and their coupling effect. Trace elements contamination in estuarine and bay ecosystems has become a serious problem, especially in bays with frequent aquaculture activities. To explore the pollution risk, sources and trends of pollution trace elements in Dongshan Bay, a typical aquaculture bay in China, the concentration and spatial distribution of seven trace elements in surface sediments were investigated. In this study, Zn was the element with the highest content in surface sediments, followed by Pb and Cr, while Cd was the lowest, but the average concentrations of Cd and Hg exceeded the regional background values. High levels of trace elements were distributed in estuaries and aquaculture areas, which were illustrated also by the SOM model. An evaluation of the pollution load index (PLI), geo-accumulation index (I geo) and potential ecological risk index (PERI) demonstrated that Cd and Hg were the principal pollution elements and ecological risk factors in the surface sediments of the Bay. A positive matrix factorization model (PMF) revealed that the main sources of trace elements were natural sources, petrochemical industry and fossil fuel combination emissions, use of agricultural fertilizer, and industrial and agricultural sewage discharge. Comparative analysis found that since 2008, the mean content of Cu, Pb, Zn, and As have decreased significantly, while the content of Cd, Hg, and Cr have increased significantly. Boron nitride nanosheets (BNNSs) with relatively low dielectric constant and excellent mechanical strength were employed for fabrication of BNNSs/fused silica (FS) composites. High-temperature mechanical behavior and microstructural evolution of the composites were investigated. The addition of BNNSs can improve the mechanical properties of FS efficiently, and the reinforcement from BNNSs can be preserved during the high temperature service. The flexural strength of BNNSs/FS composites exhibited anomalous gains at certain high temperature range, which can be explained by the softening of FS matrix, the heal of defect tips, and the reinforcement from BNNSs. Herein, we report that red‐shifting of the fluorescence emission of Au nanoclusters (AuNCs) into NIR‐II region with improved quantum yields (QY) could be achieved by engineering a protein corona structure consisting of a ribonuclease‐A (RNase‐A) on the particle surfaces. RNase‐A‐encapsulated AuNCs (RNase‐A@AuNCs) displayed emissions at 1050 nm with a 1.9 % QY. Compared to rare earth and silver‐based NIR‐II emitters, RNase‐A@AuNCs had excellent biocompatibility, showing >50‐fold higher sensitivity in GI tract, and migrated homogenously during gastrointestinal peristalsis to allow visualization of the detailed structures of the GI tract. Purpose: To study the dosimetric risk factors for radiation-induced proximal bronchial tree (PBT) toxicity in patients treated with radiation therapy for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).Methods and Materials: Patients with medically inoperable or unresectable NSCLC treated with conventionally fractionated 3-dimensional conformal radiation therapy (3DCRT) in prospective clinical trials were eligible for this study. Proximal bronchial tree (PBT) and PBT wall were contoured consistently per RTOG 1106 OAR-Atlas. The dose-volume histograms (DVHs) of physical prescription dose (DVHp) and biological effective dose (α/β = 2.5; DVH2.5) were generated, respectively. The primary endpoint was PBT toxicities, defined by CTCAE 4.0 under the terminology of bronchial stricture/atelectasis.Results: Of 100 patients enrolled, with a median follow-up of 64 months (95% confidence interval [CI], 50-78), 73% received 70 Gy or greater and 17% developed PBT toxicity (grade 1, 8%; grade 2, 6%; grade 3, 0%; and grade 4, 3%). The median time interval between RT initiation and onset of PBT toxicity was 8.4 months (95% CI, 4.7-44.1). The combined DVHs showed that no patient with a PBT maximum physical dose <65 Gy developed any PBT toxicity. Cox proportional hazards analysis and receiver operating characteristic analysis demonstrated that V75 of PBT was the most significant dosimetric parameter for both grade 1+ (P = .035) and grade 2+ (P = .037) PBT toxicities. The dosimetric thresholds for V75 of PBT were 6.8% and 11.9% for grade 1+ and grade 2+ PBT toxicity, respectively.Conclusions: V75 of PBT appeared be the most significant dosimetric parameter for PBT toxicity after conventionally fractionated thoracic 3DCRT. Inorganic dietary nitrate plays vital roles in biological functions via the exogenous NO3-/NO2-/NO pathway under hypoxia and ischemia. We previously verified the antioxidative effects of inorganic nitrate in a mouse model of total body irradiation (TBI). Accordingly, in this study, we evaluated the effects of inorganic nitrate on prevention of TBI-induced colon injury and dysbiosis of the gut microbiome. Nitrate significantly rescued the abnormal biological indexes (body weight, white blood cell, red blood cell, platelet, hemoglobin level and intestinal canal lengths) induced by TBI. Then, we detected oxidative stress and DNA damage indexes (phospho-histone H2AX and p53 binding protein 1), which were both increased by irradiation (IR) and alleviated by nitrate. IR-induced apoptosis and senescence were ameliorated by inorganic nitrate. The distribution of the gut microbiome differed for mice with TBI and those receiving inorganic nitrate. The average abundance of Lactobacillus significantly increased, and that of Bacteroidales decreased at the genus level in the nitrate group compared with that in the IR alone group. At 30 days after TBI, the abundances of Bacteroides and Faecalibaculum decreased, whereas that of Lactobacillus increased in the IR + nitrate group compared with that in the IR alone group. Inorganic nitrate efficiently prevents TBI-induced colon epithelium injury and maintains the homeostasis of the gut microbiome. Thus, our results showed that inorganic nitrate might be a promising treatment for TBI induced colon injury. Compared to rare earth and silver‐based NIR‐II emitters, RNase‐A@AuNCs had excellent biocompatibility, showing >50‐fold higher sensitivity in GI tract, and migrated homogenously during gastrointestinal peristalsis to allow visualization of the detailed structures of the GI tract. The partition rate of 2 model compounds, 2-naphthol (NAP) and ritonavir (RTV), across the water-octanol (W/O) interface was determined from aqueous solutions with and without the presence of a variety of common pharmaceutical excipients. The NAP molecule was present as either a unionized species in the phosphate buffer solution or as an anion in 0.01 M NaOH solution while RTV was present as dications in 0.1 M HCl. Excipients examined include different type of polymers (e.g., PVP-VA, HPMC, HPMCAS, PVP, PEG 8000), small molecules (e.g., glucose, lactose, maltoheptaose), and surfactants (e.g., Tween 80 and SDS). A noticeable to significant reduction of the partition rate of both NAP and RTV across the W/O interface was observed with aqueous media containing 0.01–0.1 μg/mL polymers including PVP-VA, HPMC, and HPMCAS. Reduction of NAP and RTV partition rate associated with such extremely low concentration of polymers in the aqueous media affirms the presence of a surface excess of adsorbed excipients at the W/O interface. Pi values of NAP and RTV across the W/O interface are found to be sensitive to (1) the molecule surface area, molecular weight and the degree of the polymerization of these pharmaceutical excipients, and (2) the ionization state of the model compound. In order to improve the safety of hexanitrohexaazaisowurtzitane (CL-20), submicron CL-20 particles were prepared by a siphon ultrasonic-assisted spray refining experimental device. The samples were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and the impact sensitivity of the samples was tested. The results show that the particle size of siphon-refined CL-20 is about 800 nm~1 μm, which is more smooth, mellow, and dense than that of CL-20 prepared by a traditional pressure-refined method. The peak diffraction angle of pressure- and siphon-refined CL-20 is basically the same as that of raw CL-20, and their crystal forms are ε type. The peak strength of pressure- and siphon-refined CL-20 decreased obviously. The apparent activation energy of pressure-refined CL-20 and siphon-refined CL-20 is 13.3 kJ/mol and 11.95 kJ/mol higher than that of raw CL-20, respectively. The thermal stability of CL-20 is improved. The activation enthalpy (Δ H # ) is significantly higher than that of raw CL-20, and the characteristic drop is 70.4% and 82.7% higher than that of raw CL-20. The Qarhan Salt Lake is the largest brine lake on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (QTP), which contains some potentially toxic elements (PTEs) due to the increase of human activities. This study endeavor encompassed the collection of 62 sediment samples from eight rivers that recharge the Qarhan Salt Lake, and the measurement of seven PTEs' concentrations (As, Hg, Pb, Cd, Cu, Ni, and Zn). Results indicated that the concentrations of most PTEs were lower than their local soil background values, except for Hg and Cd, which surpassed the background contents by 6.8 and 1.1 times, respectively. The I geo and PLI outcomes demonstrated a relatively low level of Hg contamination. Hg was the most hazardous elements with the mean ecological risk factor of 273.88. The Hazard Index (HI) values for PTEs were computed at 0.20 and 0.46 for adults and children, respectively, indicating that neither group was at a non-carcinogenic risk. Through the utilization of source identification methods, this study identified three predominant sources responsible for PTEs in the area: natural geogenic sources, anthropogenic sources and atmospheric deposition inputs. Ischemic stroke is an acute cerebral blood circulation disorder caused by cerebral artery stenosis or occlusion with high rates of fatality and disability. Magnetic resonance imaging has shown high efficiency in the rapid diagnosis of ischemic stroke. However, the segmentation of stroke lesions is challenging because of their small size and blurred boundaries with normal tissues. Manually segmenting the lesions is subjective, laborious, and time-consuming. Therefore, we propose a segmentation model for stroke lesions that is based on the fusion of convolution and an improved attention mechanism. First, to extract richer context information, we propose a convolutional fusion encoding module that realizes the fusion of two-dimensional convolution and three-dimensional convolution on the contraction path in the encoding end, and enhance features using the convolutional block attention mechanism module. Then, we propose an improved residual-attention gate hybrid decoding module for integrating features with different resolutions focusing on the target region, thus improving the segmentation detail of the edges of small lesions. Lastly, we use a stroke lesion dataset to evaluate its performance in the experiment. The results demonstrate that, compared with the existing models such as TransUNet, SAN-Net, and W-Net, the Dice similarity coefficient of the proposed model exhibits better (0.6193) performance. Crustins represent one type of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) that are key components of the innate immune process of crustaceans. This study successfully identified a novel crustin-like peptide, EcCrustin2, in ridgetail white prawn, Palaemon carinicauda (formerly Exopalaemon carinicauda). EcCrustin2 was found to be 1082 bp in length, with a 378 bp open reading frame (ORF) encoding 125 amino acids. The deduced amino acid sequence of EcCrustin2 exhibited characteristics of crustins in crustacean, including a Cys-rich region at the N-terminus as well as a whey acidic protein domain at the C-terminus. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that the EcCrustin2 was first clustered with Type I crustins, then with other crustins. Expression of EcCrustin2 was mainly detected in immune tissues, including hemocytes, gill and stomach. The expression level of EcCrustin2 was also significantly up-regulated after being exposed to lipopolysaccharide (LPS), lipoteichoic acid (LTA), Vibrio parahaemolyticus and Staphylococcus aureus. EHP infection could also induce EcCrustin2 expression in P. carinicauda. Knockdown of EcCrustin2 with siRNA increased the mortality of V. parahaemolyticus challenged shrimp. Finally, the recombinant EcCrustin2 protein was obtained and demonstrated a wide spectrum of antibacterial activity in vitro. Abstract NiFe 2 O 4 (NFO) with different morphologies were successfully synthesized via a facile hydrothermal method of different precipitants. Results showed that the NFO obtained using urea as precipitant (NFO-U) formed a nanosheet shape, while the powders prepared using CH 3 COONa (NFO-C) exhibited a nanoparticle structure. Both of the two NFO showed a good crystallinity. Conclusion was reached through the results of BET and electrochemical tests that layer structure would improve the properties through a larger specific surface area. Encouragingly, the specific capacitance of NFO-U could arrive 240.9 F/g at the current density of 1 A/g. It was worth noting that the cycle performance of NFO-U was excellent, of which the specific capacitance improved to 128% after 2000 cycles. In addition, an asymmetric supercapacitor (ASC) system was constructed utilizing NFO-U as positive electrode while activated carbon (AC) as negative electrode. The two-electrode system showed a good performance with energy density of 10.15 Wh/kg at a power density of 140 W/kg. Abstract This work reports the measurement of the partition rate of a model drug, ibuprofen (IBU), from aqueous solutions into octanol in the absence and presence of common pharmaceutical excipients including glucose, lactose, maltoheptaose, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, polyvinylpyrrolidone, polyvinylpyrrolidone–vinyl acetate, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose AS, sodium dodecyl sulfate, Tween 80, and sodium taurocholate at varying concentrations. This attempts to assess the kinetic aspect of IBU partitioning across the water-octanol interface by applying a mechanistic model and to characterize the interfacial resistance. A significant reduction in P i across the water-octanol interface was observed with extremely low concentration of the selected excipients in the aqueous media. These results reveal the presence of a surface excess of adsorbed excipients at the water-octanol interface. The retardation of the P i of IBU was found to be sensitive to (1) the molecular weight or the degree of polymerization of these excipients, (2) the hydrodynamic condition of the experimental method, and (3) the pH of the aqueous media. Retardation of the P i of IBU in the presence of excipients observed in this study is proposed by a steric obstruction mechanism through the adsorbed surface excess layer of excipients located at the water-octanol interface. Abstract Boron nitride nanosheets (BNNSs) have attracted increasing attention in the field of two-dimensional materials. In the paper, the BNNSs/alumina composites were fabricated by a flocculation method and hot pressing. It is found that the BNNSs were dispersed uniformly in the alumina matrix by the flocculation technique via pH adjustment. The experimental results showed that with the increasing BNNSs content, the density of the composites decreased. Compared with the monolithic alumina, bending strength of the composite with 1.0 wt% BNNSs was increased by 58.6%; while the fracture toughness was increased slightly. The addition of BNNSs changed the fracture pattern, refined the grains of composites and inhibited abnormal grain growth, which contributed to the improvement of mechanical properties of the composites. The electromagnetic wave absorption performance of high-entropy transition metal carbides, including (Ti 0.2 Zr 0.2 Hf 0.2 Nb 0.2 Ta 0.2)C, (Ti 0.2 Zr 0.2 Mo 0.2 Nb 0.2 Ta 0.2)C and (Ti 0.2 Zr 0.2 Cr 0.2 Nb 0.2 Ta 0.2)C, was investigated in the frequency from 2 GHz to 18 GHz. The electromagnetic parameter measurement and subsequent electromagnetic wave absorption evaluation showed that the high-entropy transition metal carbides possessed good electromagnetic wave absorbing properties, which had a great relation to the solid-solution elements. The (Ti 0.2 Zr 0.2 Mo 0.2 Nb 0.2 Ta 0.2)C with a 1.50 mm thickness displayed a minimal reflection loss of -32.1 dB, and the effective absorption bandwidth (<-10 dB) was in the frequency range of 13–18 GHz. Intriguingly, the minimum reflection loss reached -36.6 dB at the thickness of 2.50 mm. The electromagnetic wave absorption performance was mainly associated with conductivity loss and dipole polarization, which originated from intrinsic conductivity of the high-entropy carbides and lattice distortion resulting from solid solution of multiple elements, respectively. The experimental results show that the high-entropy transition metal carbides may be promising structural-functional integrated ceramics in wide applications. The single-phase high-entropy transition metal carbide powders without complex structure and multi phases design present excellent EMW absorption properties, including minute reflection loss and broad absorption bandwidth. Based on the transient-performance calculation model of a dual-spool mixed-flow turbofan engine, this article improves the dynamic algorithm of geometric adjustment mechanisms and establishes a transient-performance calculation model suitable for a three-stream adaptive cycle engine (three-stream ACE). Using this model, the transient characteristics of a three-stream ACE were analyzed. The results indicate that the delay in the area of the fan nozzle significantly reduces the surge margin of the front fan during deceleration, while the delay in the angle of the front-fan and aft-fan guide vanes significantly reduces the surge margin of the front fan during acceleration, therefore becoming a limitation of the transient performance of the engine. At the same time, to meet the demand for equal-thrust mode switching, this article also proposes a mode-switching control scheme that solves the problem of engine state oscillation during the mode-conversion process and achieves a smooth conversion with thrust fluctuations within 1%. The research results of this article can guide the optimization design of three-stream ACE transition-state control laws and the design of control system architecture, which has important engineering significance. The exploration achievements in the eastern‐central Ordos Basin have attracted tremendous attention in recent years. However, only a few studies were carried out on the relationship between formation pressure and distribution of natural gas in this area. The formation pressure of 293 wells, logging data of 154 wells, and fluid inclusion samples of 53 wells were analysed in this paper, and the results show that the mudstones from Permian Upper Shihezi Formation to Permian Taiyuan Formation are mostly undercompacted. Four gas‐bearing layers with significant differences in pressure profile can be further divided into Permian negative pressure system and Carboniferous normal pressure system. The distribution of current formation pressure is high in the east and north areas but low in the west and south areas. The sedimentary facies and distribution of formation pressure in Permian have a good consistency. The vertical development (zonation) of gas reservoirs is controlled by the undercompacted mudstone layers, and the reservoirs can be found in the “low pressure” areas of negative pressure strata in the Permian and “high pressure” regions of normal pressure strata in the Carboniferous. The pressure evolution and accumulation process can be divided into 3 stages: hydrocarbon‐generation supercharging accumulation during Late Jurassic—end of Early Cretaceous, sandstone resilience discharging accumulation during end of Early Cretaceous—Paleogene, and adjusting accumulation during Paleogene—Quaternary. The ligands are based on a common salicylidene amino(thio)phenolate, SA(T)P, backbone with differences in the coordination sphere (ONO for L = SAP vs. ONS for L = SATP) or in the salicyl moiety functionalization by OH groups for the ONO ligands. The process gives a regioselective endocyclic epoxidation to a kinetically controlled 1:1 mixture of the cis- LimO and trans -LimO epoxides and/or the isomeric diols ax -LimD and eq- LimD by the subsequent ring opening in the presence of water, with a product distribution that depends on the ligand, reaction time and temperature. In combination with control experiments of the cis / trans -LimO ring opening, the investigations demonstrate the catalytic action of the metal complexes in both the epoxidation and the ring opening steps, with the cis -LimO stereospecifically producing the ax- LimD product and the less reactive trans -LimO leading to a 4:3 mixture of ax- LimD and eq- LimD. Background Several indices have been developed to predict survival of brain metastases ( BM) based on prognostic factors. However, such models were designed for general brain metastases from different kinds of cancers, and prognostic factors vary between cancers and histological subtypes. Recently, studies have indicated that epidermal growth factor receptor ( EGFR) mutation status may be a potential prognostic biological factor in BM from lung adenocarcinoma. Thus, we sought to define the role of EGFR mutation in prognoses and introduce a prognostic model specific for BM from lung adenocarcinoma. Methods Data of 256 patients with BM from lung adenocarcinoma identified with EGFR mutations were collected. Independent prognostic factors were confirmed using a Cox regression model. The new prognostic model was developed based on the results of multivariable analyses. The score of each factor was calculated by six-month survival. Prognostic groups were divided into low, medium, and high risk based on the total scores. The prediction ability of the new model was compared to the three existing models. Results EGFR mutation and Karnofsky performance status were independent prognostic factors and were thus integrated into the new prognostic model. The new model was superior to the three other scoring systems regarding the prediction of three, six, and 12-month survival by pairwise comparison of the area under the curve. Conclusion Our proposed prognostic model specific for BM from lung adenocarcinoma incorporating EGFR mutation status was valid in predicting patient survival. A synthetic aperture radar (SAR) has the capability to observe ocean surface winds with a high spatial resolution, even under extreme conditions. The purpose of this work was to develop a new method for wind speed retrieval with the combination of SAR dual-polarized signals. In this study, we collected 28 tropical cyclone imageries observed using the Sentinel-1 dual-polarization mode. These imageries were collocated with radiometer wind speed measurements and reanalysis of wind vector products. In the new method, the wind speed was set as the output. VV-polarized (vertical transmitting–vertical receiving polarized) normalized radar cross section (NRCS), incident angle, VH-polarized (vertical transmitting–horizontal receiving polarized) NRCS, and wind direction were set as the inputs. Based on different output combinations, wind retrieval models were developed with multiple linear regression (MLR). According to the validation and comparison, the proposed models performed better than the traditional piecewise VH-polarization geophysical model functions (GMFs). The impact of thermal noise on the retrieval of low wind speeds (<10 m/s) could be partially reduced. The input of wind direction is unnecessary if the combination of VV- and VH-polarized imageries has been utilized. These results suggest that the use of MLR and the dual-polarization combination can improve SAR wind retrieval accuracy.
