The shipping industry is crucial for national economic and social development of China. The efficient operation of the shipping safety assurance system is key to the sustainable development of the shipping industry. Promoting the intelligent development of the industry is vital for the optimization and adjustment of the conventional shipping safety assurance system. Focusing on the demand of China for intelligent governance modes for shipping security assurance, this study reviews the current status and development trend of shipping security assurance in advanced port cities in China and abroad. It then clarifies the application directions of digital twins, big data, intelligent ships, unmanned ships, Internet of ships, and other emerging intelligent technologies to shipping security assurance. Using Shanghai as an example, we analyze the overall situation regarding shipping safety assurance of the city, and propose an integrated mode for intelligent governance and its target framework that consists of five layers (infrastructure, information perception, support service, smart service, and smart decision layers) and two aspects (regulations and standards as well as personnel system). Furthermore, several specific engineering and policy suggestions are proposed, including strengthening the overall layout to strengthen the infrastructure for intelligent development, enhancing collaboration among related apartments,formulating policies to support the development of intelligent technologies, and establishing new mechanisms. This study is expected to provide references for the interdisciplinary research on intelligent technologies and shipping safety assurance and for the highquality development of shipping security assurance.

Copper can be toxic at very high intracellular concentrations and can inhibit prostate cancer (PCa) progression. Recently, a study reported the mechanism of cuproptosis and the potentially associated genes. However, the function of these cuproptosis-related genes in PCa remains unknown. Based on the RNA sequence and clinical data from public databases, we analyzed the clinical value of cuproptosis-related genes in PCa. DLD, DLAT, PDHA1, and CDKN2A were expressed differently between normal and PCa tissues. The FDX1, LIAS, DLAT, GLS, and CDKN2A genes can affect PCa progression, while PDHA1 and CDKN2A influence the patients’ disease-free survival (DFS) status. The expression of LIAS, LIPT1, DLAT, and PDHB did not alter upon the incidence of PCa in Chinese patients. A constructed regression model showed that FDX1, PDHA1, MTF1, and CDKN2A can be risk factors leading to PCa in both Western and Chinese patients with PCa. The lasso regression model reflected that these genes can affect the patients’ DFS status. Additionally, the cuproptosis-related genes were associated with immune cell infiltration. We also verified the high expression of PDHA1 and CDKN2A, in clinical samples. In conclusion, we identified a novel cuproptosis-related gene signature for predicting the development of PCa.

Chronic diseases which include cancer diseases, respiratory diseases and cardiovascular & cerebrovascular disease become the main diseases affecting the health of Chinese residents, and affect the improvement of healthy life expectancy of Chinese residents. Therefore, using the portable and real-time medical equipment to track and detect patient′s daily physical conditions is very important. This paper has a comparative study and designs two typical ECG devices, one is the sport monitor-SenseON which is a small and stylish, the other one is the medical monitor-CareON. This paper also discusses the future trends.

Electrocardiography (ECG) has emerged as a ubiquitous diagnostic tool for the identification and characterization of diverse cardiovascular pathologies. Wearable health monitoring devices, equipped with on-device biomedical artificial intelligence (AI) processors, have revolutionized the acquisition, analysis, and interpretation of ECG data. However, these systems necessitate AI processors that exhibit flexible configuration, facilitate portability, and demonstrate optimal performance in terms of power consumption and latency for the realization of various functionalities. To address these challenges, this study proposes an instruction-driven convolutional neural network (CNN) processor. This processor incorporates three key features: (1) An instruction-driven CNN processor to support versatile ECG-based application. (2) A Processing element (PE) array design that simultaneously considers parallelism and data reuse. (3) An activation unit based on the CORDIC algorithm, supporting both Tanh and Sigmoid computations. The design has been implemented using 110 nm CMOS process technology, occupying a die area of 1.35 mm2 with 12.94 µW power consumption. It has been demonstrated with two typical ECG AI applications, including two-class (i.e., normal/abnormal) classification and five-class classification. The proposed 1-D CNN algorithm performs with a 97.95% accuracy for the two-class classification and 97.9% for the five-class classification, respectively. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Cardiac arrhythmia (CA) is a severe cardiac disorder that results in a significant number of fatalities worldwide each year. Conventional electrocardiography (ECG) devices are often unable to detect arrhythmia symptoms during patients' hospital visits due to their intermittent nature. This paper presents a wearable ECG processor for cardiac arrhythmia (CA) detection. The processor utilizes a Hilbert transform-based R-peak detection engine for R-peak detection, a Haar discrete wavelet transform (HDWT) unit for feature extraction, and a Hybrid ECG classifier that combines linear methods and Non-Linear Support Vector Machines (NLSVM) classifiers to distinguish between normal and abnormal heartbeats. The processor is fabricated by the CMOS 110 nm process with an area of 1.34 mm2 and validated with the MIT_BIH Database. The early detection of arrhythmia can effectively reduce the risk of serious heart diseases and save time for treatment. Many healthcare devices have been widely used for electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring. However, most of them can only complete simple two-classes detection and have unacceptable hardware overhead and energy consumption. For achieving accurate and low-power arrhythmia detection, a novel ECG processor application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) is proposed in this paper, which can perform the prediction of five types of cardiac arrhythmias and heart rate monitoring. To realize hardware-efficient R-peak detection, an ECG pre-processing engine based on a first derivative and moving average comparison method is proposed. Efficient arrhythmia detection is realized by the proposed low-power classification engine, which is based on a carefully designed lightweight artificial neural network (ANN) with good prediction accuracy. The hardware reuse strategy is used to implement the hardware logic of ANN, where computations are executed by only one processing unit (PU), which is controlled by a flexible finite state machine (FSM). Also, the weights of ANN are configurable to facilitate model updates. We validate the functionality of the design using real-world ECG data. The proposed ECG processor is implemented using 55 nm CMOS technology, occupying an area of 0.33 mm2. This design consumes 12.88 μW at a 100 kHz clock frequency, achieving a classification accuracy of 96.69%. The comparison results with previous work indicate that our design has advantages in detection performance and power consumption, providing a good solution for low-power and low-cost ECG monitoring.
