In the paper, we focus on embedding clique immersions and subdivisions within sparse expanders, and we derive the following main results: (1) For any $0< \eta< 1/2$, there exists $K>0$ such that for sufficiently large $n$, every $(n,d,\lambda)$-graph $G$ contains a $K_{(1-5\eta)d}$-immersion when $d\geq K\lambda$. (2) For any $\varepsilon>0$ and $0<\eta <1/2$, the following holds for sufficiently large $n$. Every $(n,d,\lambda)$-graph $G$ with $2048\lambda/\eta^20$ such that the following holds for sufficiently large $d$. If $G$ is an $n$-vertex graph with average degree $d(G)\geq d$, then $G$ contains a $K_{c d}^{(\ell)}$-immersion for some $\ell\in \mathbb{N}$. In 2018, Dvo{\v{r}}{\'a}k and Yepremyan asked whether every graph $G$ with $\delta(G)\geq t$ contains a $K_t$-immersion. Our first result shows that it is asymptotically true for $(n,d,\lambda)$-graphs when $\lambda=o(d)$. In addition, our second result extends a result of Dragani{\'c}, Krivelevich and Nenadov on balanced subdivisions. The last result generalises a result of DeVos, Dvo{\v{r}}{\'a}k, Fox, McDonald, Mohar, Scheide on $1$-immersions of large cliques in dense graphs.

The correlation between magnetism and nontrivial topological band structure serves as a unique venue for discovering exotic topological properties. Combining magnetotransport measurements and first-principles calculations, we unveil herein that the hexagonal EuCuP holds topologically trivial state in the paramagnetic structure, while strong magnetization dependent anisotropic topological states in the spin-polarization structures. Specifically, it hosts a trivial topological state in the in-plane spin-polarization structure, while a Weyl semimetal state in the out-of-plane spin-polarization structure. Our scaling analysis suggests that the intrinsic Berry curvature in the spin-polarization structures can account for the observed large anisotropic anomalous Hall effect. First-principles calculations show that the magnetization and the spin-orbit coupling simultaneously play essential roles for the appearance of the four pairs of Weyl points in the out-of-plane spin-polarization structure. Our work therefore establishes in EuCuP the intimate relation between magnetism and the nontrivial topological states, which would be instructive for future study on this key issue of topological physics., Comment: 15 papes, 5 figures and 2 tables

Selective sensing of chiral molecules is a key aspect in fields spanning biology, chemistry, and pharmacology. However, conventional optical methods, such as circular dichroism (CD), encounter limitations owing to weak chiral light-matter interactions. Several strategies have been investigated to enhance CD or circularly polarised luminescence (CPL), including superchiral light, plasmonic nanoresonators and dielectric nanostructures. However, a compromise between spatial uniformity and high sensitivity, without requiring specific molecular functionalization, remains a challenge. In this work, we propose a novel approach using twisted bilayer graphene (TBG), a chiral 2D material with a strong CD peak which energy is tunable through the twist angle. By matching the CD resonance of TBG with the optical transition energy of the molecule, we achieve a decay rate enhancement mediated by resonant energy transfer that depends on the electric-magnetic interaction, that is, on the chirality of both the molecules and TBG. This leads to an enantioselective quenching of the molecule fluorescence, allowing to retrieve the molecule chirality from time-resolved photoluminescence measurements. This method demonstrates high sensitivity down to single layer of molecules, with the potential to achieve the ultimate goal of single-molecule chirality sensing, while preserving the spatial uniformity and integrability of 2D heterostructures.

The crystal symmetry plays a pivotal role in protecting the nontrivial electronic states in a topological phase. Manipulation of the crystal symmetry and hence the nontrivial topological states would serve as a fertile ground to explore exotic topological properties. Combining experimental and theoretical investigations, we demonstrate herein the flexible switch of nontrivial topological states in the single phase of kagome magnet GdMn6Ge6. The intrinsic anomalous Hall effect caused by distinct Berry curvatures along different crystallographic directions is realized through selectively breaking the mirror symmetries in these directions by external magnetic field, which is fully supported by the first-principles calculations. In two-dimensional van der Waals magnetic materials, the interplay between magnetism and electron correlation can give rise to new ground states and lead to novel transport and optical properties. A fundamental question in these materials is how the electron correlation manifests and interacts with the magnetic orders. In this study, we demonstrate that the recently discovered 2D antiferromagnetic material, CrSBr, is a Mott insulator, through the combined use of resonant and temperature-dependent angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy techiniques, supplemented by dynamical mean-field theory analysis. Intriguingly, we found that as the system transitions from the antiferromagnetic to the paramagnetic phases, its Mott bands undergo a reconfiguration, and a coherent-incoherent crossover, driven by the dissolution of the magnetic order. Our findings reveal a distinctive evolution of band structure associated with magnetic phase transitions, shedding light on the investigation of intricate interplay between correlation and magnetic orders in strongly correlated van der Waals magnetic materials.

The ferrimagnet TbMn6Sn6 has attracted vast attention, because its pristine Mn kagome lattice with strong spin-orbit coupling and out-of-plane Tb-Mn exchange supports quantum-limit Chern topological magnetism which can be described by the simple spinless Haldane model. We unveil herein that engineering the pristine kagome lattice through partial replacement of Mn by nonmagnetic Cr which tends to concentrate into the single Mn1 layer in a unit cell breaks the collinear configuration of Mn spins and reduces the D6h point group symmetry to the C2 one. The nearly isolated Tb networks result in easily polarized Tb spins even under a weak magnetic field, and simultaneously, different spin chirality of the Tb-Mn1-Mn1 and Mn1-Mn1-Mn1. Such a peculiar spin structure leads to a plateau-like topological Hall effect with a record resistivity of 19.1 {\mu}Ohm cm among bulk systems. Our direct visualization of the domain-wall structure and its evolution under external magnetic field fully support the picture, thus highlighting the pivotal role of broken kagome lattice symmetry in generating the peculiar spin chirality in real space. Impurity substitution is a general strategy to study the intrinsic properties of a quantum material. However, when the target element has more than one Wyckoff position in the lattice, it is a big challenge but with extreme necessity to know the exact position and order of the occupancy of impurity atoms. Via comprehensive experimental and theoretical investigations, we establish herein the roadmap for Ni substitution in Fe3GaTe2, a van der Waals ferromagnet with the Curie temperature TC even reaching ~ 380 K. The results unambiguously reveal that in (Fe1-xNix)3GaTe2, Ni atoms initially form an van der Waals interlayer gap Ni3 sites when x < 0.1, and then gradually occupy the Fe2 sites. After replacing the Fe2 sites at x of ~ 0.75, they start to substitute for the Fe1 sites and eventually realize a full occupation at x = 1.0. Accordingly, TC and saturation magnetic moments of (Fe1-xNix)3GaTe2 both show nonlinear decrease, which is tightly tied to the Ni occupancy order as well as the different roles of Ni3, Fe1 and Fe2 sites in the spin Hamiltonian. Non-line-of-sight (NLOS) imaging with intelligent sensors emerges as a novel technique in imaging and sensing occluded objects around corners. With the innovation of bio-inspired neuromorphic sensors, the applications of novel sensors in unconventional imaging tasks like NLOS imaging have shown promising prospects in intelligent perception, encompassing autonomous driving, medical endoscopy and other sensing scenarios. However, the most challenging point of sensors application in computational imaging is the inverse problem established between sensors acquisition and reconstructions. Traditional physical retrieval methods with certain sensors applications usually result in poor reconstruction due to the highly ill-posedness, particularly in moving object imaging. Thanks to the development of neural networks, data-driven methods have greatly improved its accuracy, however, heavy reliance on data volume has put great pressure on data collection and dataset fabrication. To the best of our knowledge, we firstly propose a sensor-dominated restoration prototype termed "event enhanced passive NLOS imaging prototype for moving objects with physical embedding" (EPNP), which illustrated the application of dynamic vision sensors in NLOS imaging. EPNP induces an event camera for feature extraction of dynamic diffusion spot and leverages simulation dataset to pre-train the physical embedded model before fine-tuning with limited real-shot data. The proposed EPNP prototype is verified by simulation and real-world experiments, while the comparisons of data paradigms also validate the superiority of event-based sensor applications in passive NLOS imaging for moving objects and perspectives in advanced imaging techniques., Comment: This work has been accepted for publication in IEEE

This work describes the use of on-board vehicle data from cars with advanced driver assistance features as a trip summary, with the goal of helping drivers contextualize their driving habits in terms of sustainability. The approach is similar to recent advancements in fitness tracking apps, which leverage smartwatches and other wearable devices to characterize activities during a workout or as part of daily fitness monitoring. Instead of adding new vehicle sensors, the data used for this work is from on-board driving data, namely, signals decoded from the vehicle's Controller Area Network (CAN) bus. With the deepening research of automatic driving technologies, Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) have gradually entered the consumer field, and more users are benefiting from the convenience and safety assistance provided by driving assistance and autonomous driving. However, various technical obstacles persist due to the complex environment, the non-communication of technologies, and users' trust. We propose indicators for evaluating the key characteristics of each drive, to facilitate drivers' familiarity with advanced driver assistance systems and to allow them to consider how different driving styles affect sustainability metrics. Noncentrosymmetric magnets usually host intriguing magnetic interactions inherent the crystal structure with broken inversion symmetry, which can give rise to rich magnetic behaviors. We report herein the high-pressure synthesis, crystal structure, magnetizations and magnetic structure of a so-called Nowotny chimney ladder compound Cr4Ge7. Our analysis on the powder neutron diffraction data revises the crystal structure as a noncentrosymmetric space group (P-4c2, No.116). It exhibits two magnetic orders within the temperature range of 2 - 400 K. The first order at ~ 207 K associated with a small magnetic moment of ~ 0.75 miuB is assigned to a commensurate ferromagnetic structure with a propagation vector k = (0, 0, 0). The weak itinerant ferromagnet nature should be caused by the complex Cr spin orders from different Wyckoff positions. The second order at ~ 18 K is assumed to arise from a competition between the Dzyaloshinskii-Moria and Heisenberg interactions. The results provide an excellent platform for study on intricate interactions between various magnetic exchanges as well as for the exploration of high temperature exotic magnetic properties which host potential applications in next-generation spintronics., Comment: 21 pages, 5 figures, 2 tables; Supporting Information is not included

The CIRCLES project aims to reduce instabilities in traffic flow, which are naturally occurring phenomena due to human driving behavior. These "phantom jams" or "stop-and-go waves,"are a significant source of wasted energy. Toward this goal, the CIRCLES project designed a control system referred to as the MegaController by the CIRCLES team, that could be deployed in real traffic. Our field experiment leveraged a heterogeneous fleet of 100 longitudinally-controlled vehicles as Lagrangian traffic actuators, each of which ran a controller with the architecture described in this paper. The MegaController is a hierarchical control architecture, which consists of two main layers. The upper layer is called Speed Planner, and is a centralized optimal control algorithm. It assigns speed targets to the vehicles, conveyed through the LTE cellular network. The lower layer is a control layer, running on each vehicle. It performs local actuation by overriding the stock adaptive cruise controller, using the stock on-board sensors. The Speed Planner ingests live data feeds provided by third parties, as well as data from our own control vehicles, and uses both to perform the speed assignment. The architecture of the speed planner allows for modular use of standard control techniques, such as optimal control, model predictive control, kernel methods and others, including Deep RL, model predictive control and explicit controllers. Depending on the vehicle architecture, all onboard sensing data can be accessed by the local controllers, or only some. Control inputs vary across different automakers, with inputs ranging from torque or acceleration requests for some cars, and electronic selection of ACC set points in others. The proposed architecture allows for the combination of all possible settings proposed above. Most configurations were tested throughout the ramp up to the MegaVandertest.

Many decision-making scenarios in modern life benefit from the decision support of artificial intelligence algorithms, which focus on a data-driven philosophy and automated programs or systems. However, crucial decision issues related to security, fairness, and privacy should consider more human knowledge and principles to supervise such AI algorithms to reach more proper solutions and to benefit society more effectively. In this work, we extract knowledge-based logic that defines risky driving formats learned from public transportation accident datasets, which haven't been analyzed in detail to the best of our knowledge. More importantly, this knowledge is critical for recognizing traffic hazards and could supervise and improve AI models in safety-critical systems. Then we use automated verification methods to verify the robustness of such logic. More specifically, we gather 72 accident datasets from Data.gov and organize them by state. Further, we train Decision Tree and XGBoost models on each state's dataset, deriving accident judgment logic. Finally, we deploy robustness verification on these tree-based models under multiple parameter combinations.

Generally, the dissipationless Hall effect in solids requires time-reversal symmetry breaking (TRSB), where TRSB induced by external magnetic field results in ordinary Hall effect, while TRSB caused by spontaneous magnetization gives rise to anomalous Hall effect (AHE) which scales with the net magnetization. The AHE is therefore not expected in antiferromagnets with vanishing small magnetization. However, large AHE was recently observed in certain antiferromagnets with noncolinear spin structure and nonvanishing Berry curvature. Here, we report another origin of AHE in a layered antiferromagnet EuAl2Si2, namely the domain wall (DW) skew scattering with Weyl points near the Fermi level, in experiments for the first time. Interestingly, the DWs form a unique periodic stripe structure with controllable periodicity by external magnetic field, which decreases nearly monotonically from 975 nm at 0 T to 232 nm at 4 T. Electrons incident on DW with topological bound states experience strong asymmetric scattering, leading to a giant AHE, with the DW Hall conductivity (DWHC) at 2 K and 1.2 T reaching a record value of ~ 1,5100 S cm-1 among bulk systems and being two orders of magnitude larger than the intrinsic anomalous Hall conductivity.
