Abstract

Building integrated photovoltaic modules, applied to industrial and commercial buildings, generally used metal as the backsheet. In summer, the operating temperature of modules is as high as 70°C, resulting in instability of output power and service life. Therefore, it is very important to reduce the operating temperature of photovoltaic modules. In this work, Al2O3/graphene/poly(vinylidene fluoride‐co‐hexafluoropropylene) (PVDF‐HFP) composite radiative cooling coatings were prepared and utilized for reinforcing heat dissipation of photovoltaic modules. The results indicate that 0.75 wt%Al2O3/1wt%graphene/PVDF‐HFP composite coating exhibited a thermal diffusivity of 3.24 μm2/s and an average emissivity of 0.94. The maximum temperature drop of the coating in the outer door reached 5.8°C. In addition, a mini photovoltaic module coated with the composite coating achieved the cooling effect of 2.4°C, and the output power and conversion efficiency were increased by 5.8% and 7%, respectively. This demonstrates that the heat conduction radiative cooling coating possesses potential applications for improving the reliability of photovoltaic modules. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

A vapor etching texturization method based on vapors generated from HF-HNO3 solution has been developed previously for texturization of diamond wire sawn multicrystalline silicon wafers. The present work is a further study to understand the mechanisms of the process. The vapor etching experiment of a diamond wire sawn multi-crystalline wafer was carried out, in which the topography, average etch depth by weight loss, light reflectivity and roughness were tracked. Based on the observations, a discussion of the mechanisms and their relation to the topographical evolution was presented. The conclusions are that, the key mechanism for the VE texturization of diamond wire sawn multi-crystalline silicon wafers is forming of micro-droplet of the liquid phase and the erosive attack by them. The droplets may be formed in evaporation of previously formed liquid films, which is a result of massive condensation of the vapor onto the initially cold wafers, or in condensation of the vapor onto warmer wafers or existing droplets. The exothermic etching reaction leads to a well self-regulating evolvement of the wafer temperature. More liquid phase on the wafer causes more intensive reaction, and hence higher wafer temperature, that in turn causes evaporation of the liquid phase; while this slows down the reaction, and lowers the temperature, that in turn brings more condensation of the liquid phase from the vapor. Such a temperature evolvement creates good opportunities for formation of the micro-droplets of the liquid phase.

46. Analysis and design of high‐frequency multiple‐output wireless power transfer system with load‐independent class‐E/F inverter.

Abstract

This paper proposes a high‐frequency multiple‐receiver wireless power transfer (WPT) system with a load‐independent class‐E/F inverter. Each receiver has a post‐regulator, which changes the equivalent resistance seen from the inverter to obtain the necessary power for output voltage regulation. Because the load‐independent class‐E/F inverter generates constant AC current ( CCAC$$ {\mathbf{CC}}_{\mathbf{AC}} $$), the transmitter supplies the minimum required power to the receivers by the change of the equivalent resistances. Besides, the load‐independent inverter consistently achieves zero‐voltage switching (ZVS) without any control. As a result, no information feedback by wireless communication is necessary for output regulation and ZVS achievement, simplifying the system configuration and improving the transient response of the control. This paper presents analytical expressions of the proposed system. Besides, the experiment was carried out with a two‐receiver WPT system. The implemented system worked well by individual and independent output regulation of the post regulator at each receiver. The implemented WPT system achieved the power‐delivery efficiency of 83.4% at the 6.78 MHz transmission frequency and the total output power of 40 W. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
