Automatic thermal desorption-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (ATD-GC-MS) was used to capture and detect environmental volatile components in Tieguanyin tea at the key stages of the fine manipulation process, and short time series expression miner (STEM) and partial least squares-discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) were used to analyze the volatile components. The results showed that a total of 122 volatile components belonging to eight chemical classes, i.e., alcohols, esters, olefins, alkanes, aldehydes, aromatic hydrocarbons, ketones and other compounds were identified, esters being the major ones. The STEM results showed that the detected volatile components could be divided into 19 trends, and there was significant enrichment in two trend models. Among them, the levels of 2-butanol, ethyl acetate, isovaleraldehyde, 3-methyl-1-butanol, 1-hexanol, 2-heptanol, methyl hexanoate, 6-methyl-5-hepten-2-one, and octyl isobutyrate, which have a special aroma, increased significantly with increasing number of fine manipulation cycles. PLS-DA could effectively distinguish between tossing and sun withering, and seven characteristic volatile components (variable importance in the projection (VIP) > 1) were common to the two stages including (Z)-4-hexen-1-yl acetate, (E)-butanoic acid, 3-hexenyl ester, (E)-3-hexen-1-ol, 2-hexenal, 3-methyl-butanenitrile, (E)-4,8-dimethylnona-1,3,7-triene and (Z)-3,7-dimethyl-1,3,6-octatriene. The proportion and composition of environmental volatile components in Tieguanyin tea changed during the fine manipulation process. Most of the volatile components showed obvious and regular changes. The seven shared volatile components could be considered as aroma indexes for judging intelligent fine manipulation.

Background: The role of solute carrier family 35 member F3 (SLC35F3) in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) remains unclear. To address this gap, we conducted a study employing bioinformatics analysis and experimental validation. Methods: This study aimed to examine the expression patterns of SLC35F3 in various cancer types, particularly focusing on LUAD, by analyzing data from the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database to evaluate its clinical relevance. The research also explored potential regulatory mechanisms of SLC35F3, including its interactions with immune infiltration, tumor mutational burden (TMB), and drug sensitivity in LUAD. The investigation included analyzing SLC35F3 expression in single‐cell sequencing of LUAD cells, examining genetic variations of SLC35F3 in LUAD, and assessing SLC35F3 expression in cell lines using quantitative real‐time PCR (qRT‐PCR). Results: The aberrant expression of SLC35F3 was observed in both pan‐cancer and LUAD. In LUAD patients, a statistically significant increase in SLC35F3 expression was correlated with gender (p < 0.001) and was associated with poorer overall survival (OS) (p = 0.020). The expression of SLC35F3 was identified as an independent prognostic determinant in patients with LUAD (p = 0.032). SLC35F3 exhibited associations with various pathways, including cell cycle and more. SLC35F3 expression demonstrated correlations with immune infiltration, TMB, and some drugs in LUAD. Results indicated significant upregulation of SLC35F3 in both LUAD tissues and cell lines. Conclusions: SLC35F3 may serve as a prognostic biomarker and immunotherapeutic target for patients with LUAD. Clinical Trial Registration: Not applicable. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been reported to be involved in the initiation and development of cancers. The aim of this study was to determine the role of a circRNA, circ_0020123, in the development of non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods: The expression of circ_0020123, microRNA‐146a‐5p (miR‐146a‐5p), and eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4 gamma 2 (EIF4G2) mRNA was detected by quantitative real‐time PCR (qPCR). Western blot was used to determine the protein levels of cyclin D1, Bax, MMP‐9, and EIF4G2. Cell proliferation was assessed by cell counting kit‐8 (CCK‐8) assay and colony formation assay. Flow cytometry assay was applied to determine cell cycle apoptosis. Cell migration and invasion were assessed using transwell assay. The potential relationship between miR‐146a‐5p and circ_0020123 or EIF4G2 was ascertained by dual‐luciferase reporter assay and RIP assay. The role of circ_0020123 in vivo was explored by xenograft assay. Results: Circ_0020123 was upregulated in NSCLC, and circ_0020123 knockdown repressed proliferation, migration, and invasion of NSCLC cells. Circ_0020123 targeted miR‐146a‐5p, and miR‐146a‐5p inhibitor reversed the effects of circ_0020123 knockdown on NSCLC cells. In addition, miR‐146a‐5p suppressed cell proliferation, migration, and invasion by targeting EIF4G2. Moreover, the antitumor role of circ_0020123 knockdown was verified in vivo. Conclusion: Knockdown of circ_0020123 inhibited NSCLC cell progression and tumor growth by targeting the miR‐146a‐5p/EIF4G2 axis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Numerous studies have revealed severe damage to male fertility from severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2) infection, raising concerns about the potential adverse impact on reproductive function of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19) vaccine developed based on the virus. Interestingly, there are several researchers who have studied the impact of the COVID‐19 mRNA vaccine since then but have come up with conflicting results. As a near‐ideal candidate for mass immunization programs, inactivated SARS‐CoV‐2 vaccine has been widely used in many countries, particularly in less wealthy nations. However, little is known about its effect on male fertility. Here, we conducted a retrospective cohort study at a single large center for reproductive medicine in China between December 2021 and August 2022. Five hundred and nineteen fertile men with no history of laboratory‐confirmed COVID‐19 were included and categorized into four groups based on their vaccination status: unvaccinated group (n = 168), one‐dose vaccinated group (n = 8), fully vaccinated group (n = 183), and booster group (n = 160). All of them underwent a semen analysis and most had serum sex hormone levels tested. There were no significant differences in all semen parameters and sex hormone levels between the unvaccinated group and either vaccinated group. To account for possible vaccination‐to‐test interval‐specific changes, sub‐analyses were performed for two interval groups: ≤90 and >90 days. As expected, most of the semen parameters and sex hormone levels remained unchanged between the control and vaccinated groups. However, participants in vaccinated group (≤90 days) have decreased total sperm motility and increased follicle‐stimulating hormone level compared with the ones in unvaccinated group. Moreover, some trends similar to those found during COVID‐19 infection and recovery were observed in our study. Fortunately, all values are within the normal range. In addition, vaccinated participants reported few adverse reactions. No special medical intervention was required, and no serious adverse reactions happened. Our study suggests that inactivated SARS‐CoV‐2 vaccination does not impair male fertility, possibly due to the low frequency of adverse effects. A miniaturized substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) end‐fire antenna with improved E‐plane radiation pattern for X and Ku bands is proposed in this letter. The width of the antenna is only 15 mm, which is about 0.7λ0 at the center frequency, and the height of the antenna is 3.5 mm, which is only 0.17λ0 at the center frequency. The two stepped metalized ridges are used for impedance matching, which can achieve a wide bandwidth from 10.2 GHz to 19 GHz. The four small metal strips which are placed at the front of the antenna and the other FR4 substrate are used to improve the stable E‐plane radiation direction of the antenna. In this letter, a new wide stopband and high gain Quasi‐Yagi filtering antenna is proposed. At the beginning of feeder line in the improved Balun filtering antenna, it is integrated with the stripline low‐pass filter that contributes to wide out‐of‐band suppression. The proposed filtering antenna works from 2.25 GHz to 2.55 GHz, with a maximum gain of 8dBi at 2.5 GHz. Moreover, it possesses a faster roll‐off rate from 2.55 GHz(8 dB) to 2.8 GHz (−20 dB) and a better rejection up to 12 GHz(5 times of central frequency) outside the working band. A high‐selectivity dual‐polarization filtering antenna with metamaterial is presented in this letter. The multilayer coupled radiation structure of the antenna determines a filtering function. With the metamaterial layer designed above the antenna, a sharp roll‐off rate at high pass band edge and a better out‐of‐band rejection occurs, thus a better high selective filtering characteristic can be achieved. Simulating and measuring the antenna, the impedance bandwidth (VSWR <2) of the antenna is from 3.25 GHz to 3.85 GHz; meanwhile, the maximum gain can reach 9dBi. The gain of antenna can quickly decrease 43dBi at the high pass band edge from 3.85 GHz to 4.05 GHz and the antenna has an out‐of‐band rejection level of 27dBi from 4.05 GHz to 5 GHz. The tested results verify our designs and the antenna could be a good candidate for the 5G anti‐interference wireless terminal communication system. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
