Organizational silos have long existed within juvenile justice, presenting a barrier to the provision of effective services and support for the youth in these settings. The present article documents the formation of a Juvenile Justice Community of Practice to address the division and the subsequent dissemination of a survey to better understand how individuals from different silos and in different positions perceive the problems and solutions facing the field. Using organizational theory and constant comparative method, our analysis indicates that survey participants from different silos agreed on broad issues but diverged in their perception of discrete and specific problems. This discord across silos interfered with creating a shared understanding of problems, leaving them unaddressed. Recommendations call for better collaboration, including more shared responsibility and alignment on goals, as well as strategies to achieve shared goals.

This qualitative study investigates how first-generation undergraduate students of Color at a historically white institution in the U.S. make sense and process the university's mission, especially in relation to the theoretical frameworks of intersectionality and post-subjectivity. U.S. universities are often structured on market-driven ideologies. They do not necessarily deeply take into account the experiences of their first-generation students of Color to the extent that could be observed in the institution's mission and goals. In this paper, we interacted with data while thinking with theory, philosophy, and concept as a method. Through these interactions, we gained insights about the lived experiences of first-generation undergraduate students of Color and how they perceive themselves to either be represented or not, within their institution's mission. Studies like this are needed because an institution's mission communicates central philosophies to stakeholders, and a clear mission statement is warranted to ensure that first-generation students of Color feel a sense of belongingness and affinity to their campuses. We also offer implications for future research and practice.

Background Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a frequent pathogen isolated from bacterial bloodstream infection (BSI) and is associated with high mortality. To survive in the blood, P aeruginosa must resist the bactericidal action of complement (ie, serum killing). Antibodies usually promote serum killing through the classical complement pathway; however, "cloaking antibodies" (cAbs) have been described, which paradoxically protect bacteria from serum killing. The relevance of cAbs in P aeruginosa BSI is unknown. Methods Serum and P aeruginosa were collected from a cohort of 100 patients with BSI. Isolates were tested for sensitivity to healthy control serum (HCS). cAb prevalence was determined in sera. Patient sera were mixed with HCS to determine if killing of the matched isolate was inhibited. Results Overall, 36 patients had elevated titers of cAbs, and 34 isolates were sensitive to HCS killing. Fifteen patients had cAbs and HCS-sensitive isolates; of these patients, 14 had serum that protected their matched bacteria from HCS killing. Patients with cAbs were less likely to be neutropenic or have comorbidities. Conclusions cAbs are prevalent in patients with P aeruginosa BSI and allow survival of otherwise serum-sensitive bacteria in the bloodstream. The urgent need for safe, efficacious, and accessible drug treatments to treat coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19) prompted a global effort to evaluate drug repurposing opportunities. Pyronaridine and amodiaquine are both components of approved antimalarials with in vitro activity against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2). In vitro activity does not always translate to clinical efficacy across a therapeutic dose range. This study applied available, verified, physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) models for pyronaridine, amodiaquine, and its active metabolite N‐desethylamodiaquine (DEAQ) to predict drug concentrations in lung tissue relative to plasma or blood in the default healthy virtual population. Lung exposures were compared to published data across the reported range of in vitro EC50 values against SARS‐CoV‐2. In the multicompartment permeability‐limited PBPK model, the predicted total Cmax in lung mass for pyronaridine was 34.2 μM on Day 3, 30.5‐fold greater than in blood (1.12 μM) and for amodiaquine was 0.530 μM, 8.83‐fold greater than in plasma (0.060 μM). In the perfusion‐limited PBPK model, the DEAQ predicted total Cmax on Day 3 in lung mass (30.2 μM) was 21.4‐fold greater than for plasma (1.41 μM). Based on the available in vitro data, predicted drug concentrations in lung tissue for pyronaridine and DEAQ, but not amodiaquine, appeared sufficient to inhibit SARS‐CoV‐2 replication. Simulations indicated standard dosing regimens of pyronaridine‐artesunate and artesunate‐amodiaquine have potential to treat COVID‐19. These findings informed repurposing strategies to select the most relevant compounds for clinical investigation in COVID‐19. This paper might not write and presented images might not speak. Instead, possibilities in this paper might be stimulated through the acts of reading, writing, thinking, and doing. "Writescapes," as lived and discussed in this paper, have potential to create and produce other writings, becoming thinkings, and conceptual experimenting in relation to qualitative inquiry even at the times of continuously changing political apparatuses. As such writescapes produce often in very unexpected ways through their relationality and connectedness and they bring together writers, texts, spaces, and processes. In this article, we interact with spatialized texts and relational processes in very intimate ways acknowledging our scholarly and socio-political contexts but at the same time working against normative scholarship and linear scholarly thinking and writing.

The purpose of this paper is to situate the body's place within school curriculum as a product of history. In doing so, this paper explores nineteenth century historical archives, documenting early approaches to physical exercise and activity in schools. In reading the writings of Dio Lewis and Dudley Sargent, early advocates for physical exercise in schools, I argue that early approaches to physical activity in schools glimpse not only the struggle over the body as it intersects with university curriculum but also an alternative orientation toward the fashioning and disposition of the self, one that resembles the esthetic of nineteenth-century Dandyism. It is this alternative, perhaps subjugated, orientation that provides an opportunity to reconsider the current status of the body within school curriculum.

The article focuses on exploring sexually explicit video preferences among women in the Czech and Slovak Republics. Topics discussed include the prevalence of sexually explicit material use, the types of content sought, and the factors influencing search frequency, highlighting the need for further research on the impact of such exposure on women in the region.
