The 100 MeV high intensity proton cyclotron (CYCIAE-100) developed by China Institute of Atomic Energy is a multi-purpose variable energy AVF cyclotron. Its design specifications are: energy from 75 to 100 MeV continuously adjustable, beam intensity 200uA, beam current can be extracted in both directions. CYCIAE-100 was commissioned to extract 100 MeV proton beam for the first time in July 2014. The first physics experiment was carried out in November 2016. By June 2019, the design specifications of CYCIAE-100 was commissioned and the maximum beam power was 52 kW. The beam intensity range from 1 pA to 520 µA is achieved, and the beam stability is about 1% for 8 hours. Several typical physics experiments have been carried out. Such as: The physics experiment of CYCIAE-100 driving ISOL device to generate radioactive nuclear beam, SiC and SRAM proton irradiation experiments, calibration experiment of high-energy proton electron total dose detector probe, etc. At present, the beam time for CYCIAE-100 is about 5,000 hours, providing effective beam time for more than 3,000 hours for many users at home and abroad, and the other beam time for beam development., Proceedings of the 22nd International Conference on Cyclotrons and their Applications, Cyclotrons2019, Cape Town, South Africa

To develop the proton beam transfer system which used in the field of proton therapy, the mechanical design of proton beam lines based on the CYCIAE-230 has been finished at the China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE). The proton beam transfer system includes the beam lines, beam dump, gantry, nozzle, couch, image guidance system, etc. Two beam lines are designed at CIAE this moment. One is for the nozzle system, the other is for the beam dump. The beam lines include four systems: the energy selection system, the beam transportation systems, gantry system, beam dump. The beam lines are very compact in order to match the beam optics and the space limitation. The gantry can be rotated ±180°. There are several key components in beam lines, such as magnets, degrader, beam diagnostics component, vacuum component, etc. The designed mechanical tolerance of the magnets is limited less than 0.1 mm. There are at least four targets on each magnets for collimation and all the components can be adjusted in three dimensions. The magnets are being manufactured now. A new proton therapy facility is being construted at CIAE. As a part of whole control system, the scanning control system is designed to scan the beam for the access of required tumor therapy field. The origin data plan comes from treatment control system. Two set of dipole magnet is driven for changing the beam path. Meanwhile, interfaces between scanning system and other systems is built for beam control and safe considering. In order to acquire high precise feedback control, the beam position and dose monitor ionization chambers will be constructed in the nozzle. Once accident occurs, the scanning system should be able to response instantly to cut off beam and inform safe interlock system simultaneously. The response time of scanning system is at tens of microsecond level, so the scanning controller, feedback controller and the monitor electronics is built in fast mode. A 100 MeV H⁻ compact cyclotron (CYCIAE-100) has started operation from 2016 at China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE). The continuous proton beams of 75 MeV - 100 MeV has been extracted in dual opposite directions by charge exchange stripping devices. In order to analyze the extracted proton beam characteristics and control the beam loss for extracting 200 μA proton beam, the acceleration and stripping extraction process for the pulsed beam for CYCIAE-100 are simulated with the code of COMA in detail in this paper. The simulations are mainly done for the different RF acceptance or acceleration phase width. Due to the simulation results, the extraction turns are more for the large phase width and it will be reduced effectively with small phase width. The transverse beam distribution and the extracted beam profile are not affected by the initial phase width due to the simulation, that's the characters of the cyclotron with the stripping extraction mode., Proceedings of the 13th Symposium on Accelerator Physics, SAP2017, Jishou, China

A 100 MeV H⁻ compact cyclotron is under construction at China Institute of Atomic Energy (CYCIAE-100). The proton beams ranging from 75 MeV - 100 MeV with 200 µA beam intensity will be extracted in dual opposite direction by charge exchange stripping devices. The stripping probe system is the key part of extraction system for CYCIAE-100. The first stripping extraction system was installed in 2014 and it has satisfied all kinds of requirements for the proton beam extraction. The first 100 MeV proton beam was got on July 4, 2014 and the beam current was stably maintained at above 25 μA for about 9 hours on July 25, 2014. The first RIB with ISOL system driven by 100 MeV proton beam was generated in 2015. The second stripping system was installed in 2015 after the assembly and adjustment. The beam commissioning based on the second stripping system will be finished and the extracted proton beam parameters will be measured in detail in this year., Proceedings of the 21st Int. The CYCIAE-100 cyclotron has been built at CIAE, designed to achieve 200 µA protons at 100 MeV and deliver them to several experimental targets. To achieve this goal and protect the machine from excessive radiation activation, an uncontrolled loss criteria of 1uA has been specified. Previous calculation for radiation shielding showed that high neutron and gamma were produced under this condition. To measure the high energy gamma ray(about 2 MeV ) at machine running and void damage by the prompt radiation, an air ionization chamber was designed to fulfill this goal. A Geant4 program was developed to simulate the energy response of detectors, the EM filed data was also taken into consideration in the programl. The simulation results indicate that the energy response linearity satisfies the requirement of the project specification., Proceedings of the 21st Int. A proof-of-principle test-stand for proton radiography is under construction at China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE). This test-stand will utilize the 100 MeV proton beam provided by the compact cyclotron CYCIAE-100, which has been built in the year of 2014, to radiograph thin static objects. The assembling of the test-stand components is finished by now. We will carry out the first proton radiography experiment in this July and hopefully we can get the first image before the opening of this conference. In this paper, the designing, constructing and commissioning of the proton radiography system will be described and the experiment result will be presented and discussed., Proceedings of the 21st Int.
