Background: As the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic continues, medical workers may have allostatic load. Objective: During the reopening of society, medical and nonmedical workers were compared in terms of allostatic load. Methods: An online study was performed; 3,590 Chinese subjects were analyzed. Socio-demographic variables, allostatic load, stress, abnormal illness behavior, global well-being, mental status, and social support were assessed. Results: There was no difference in allostatic load in medical workers compared to nonmedical workers (15.8 vs. 17.8%; p = 0.22). Multivariate conditional logistic regression revealed that anxiety (OR = 1.24; 95% CI 1.18–1.31; p < 0.01), depression (OR = 1.23; 95% CI 1.17–1.29; p < 0.01), somatization (OR = 1.20; 95% CI 1.14–1.25; p < 0.01), hostility (OR = 1.24; 95% CI 1.18–1.30; p < 0.01), and abnormal illness behavior (OR = 1.49; 95% CI 1.34–1.66; p < 0.01) were positively associated with allostatic load, while objective support (OR = 0.84; 95% CI 0.78–0.89; p < 0.01), subjective support (OR = 0.84; 95% CI 0.80–0.88; p < 0.01), utilization of support (OR = 0.80; 95% CI 0.72–0.88; p < 0.01), social support (OR = 0.90; 95% CI 0.87–0.93; p < 0.01), and global well-being (OR = 0.30; 95% CI 0.22–0.41; p < 0.01) were negatively associated. Conclusions: In the post-COVID-19 epidemic time, medical and nonmedical workers had similar allostatic load. Psychological distress and abnormal illness behavior were risk factors for it, while social support could relieve it.

Human infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and there is no cure currently. The 3CL protease (3CLpro) is a highly conserved protease which is indispensable for CoVs replication, and is a promising target for development of broad-spectrum antiviral drugs. In this study we investigated the anti-SARS-CoV-2 potential of Shuanghuanglian preparation, a Chinese traditional patent medicine with a long history for treating respiratory tract infection in China. We showed that either the oral liquid of Shuanghuanglian, the lyophilized powder of Shuanghuanglian for injection or their bioactive components dose-dependently inhibited SARS-CoV-2 3CLpro as well as the replication of SARS-CoV-2 in Vero E6 cells. Baicalin and baicalein, two ingredients of Shuanghuanglian, were characterized as the first noncovalent, nonpeptidomimetic inhibitors of SARS-CoV-2 3CLpro and exhibited potent antiviral activities in a cell-based system. Remarkably, the binding mode of baicalein with SARS-CoV-2 3CLpro determined by X-ray protein crystallography was distinctly different from those of known 3CLpro inhibitors. Baicalein was productively ensconced in the core of the substrate-binding pocket by interacting with two catalytic residues, the crucial S1/S2 subsites and the oxyanion loop, acting as a "shield" in front of the catalytic dyad to effectively prevent substrate access to the catalytic dyad within the active site. Overall, this study provides an example for exploring the in vitro potency of Chinese traditional patent medicines and effectively identifying bioactive ingredients toward a specific target, and gains evidence supporting the in vivo studies of Shuanghuanglian oral liquid as well as two natural products for COVID-19 treatment.

In this article, a new application of using S, N co-doped graphene quantum dots (S, N-GQDs) as ideal color converters in solid-state white light-emitting diode (WLED) is reported. To this end, the S, N-GQDs with an average diameter of ∼4.46 nm are obtained by a hydrothermal approach using citric acid and thiourea as source materials. The PL spectra of S, N-GQDs show an excitation-independent behavior in the range of 300–380 nm. Under UV illumination, the S, N-GQDs display intense blue-light with the quantum yield of 51.2%. The PL mechanism is also investigated. Then, we fabricate freestanding luminescent composite films in a solution casting method by combining S, N-GQDs with YAG:Ce3+ phosphors based on a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) matrix. The luminescent films have superior foldability and photostability and excellent heat resistance, and retain their optical performances in the solid-state. To realize their potential, a high-powered remote WLED has been demonstrated. The results indicate that S, N-GQDs and YAG:Ce3+ can be homogeneously dispersed in the PVA without aggregation so that uniform white-light emission can be obtained. These composite films containing S, N-GQDs are promising to be used in state-of-the-art UV-pumped remote WLED according to their wide wavelength emission and collapsible illumination device.

Two new complexes [Co(H3hmIDC)2(H2O)2]·3H2O (1) and [Ni(H3hmIDC)2(H2O)2] (2), where H4hmIDC = 2-(hydroxymethyl)-1H-imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid, have been synthesized and characterized by analytical and spectral techniques. X-ray single crystal diffraction shows that both complexes possess mononuclear structure, but the detail structures are different. Complex 1 belongs to triclinic space group P-1, while 2 belongs to the monoclinic space group P21/c. The mechanism of interaction between the complexes and bovine serum albumin (BSA) were examined by fluorescence emission spectra. The results indicated that the fluorescence intensity of BSA was decreased considerably upon the addition of the complexes through a static quenching mechanism with formation of one binding site. The associated changes in enthalpy and entropy indicating that hydrogen bonding and van der Waals forces were the dominant intermolecular forces for BSA-complex 1 binding system, and hydrophobic interactions was the dominant intermolecular forces for BSA-complex 2 binding system. Furthermore, the effects of the complexes upon the conformation of BSA were analyzed using synchronous fluorescence spectrum and the results showed that the interaction of complex 1 or 2 with BSA affected the conformation of tryptophan residue and then affected the conformation of BSA.

In order to tunnel safely, efficiently and economically, we carried out the study on geostatic stress characters and optimizing bolting support parameters in 2# coalbed of Zijin Colliery. Based on the surveys of geological conditions, original rock stress, broken rock zone measurement and analysis of roadway deformation, characters and mechanism of roadway failure is figured out. According to existent problems, normal support theories were used and a variety of numerical computations were carried out by FLAC3D.New support methods of bolt installed vertically in tilted roof and strengthen support of sidewalls and corners of roadway were figured out. Monitoring of convergence meters and roof separation were followed to know effects of new design timely. The research was carried out for 600 meters The monitoring results proved that the optimized support design was viable and the new bolting parameters were reasonable.

Matric suction has great impact on the strength of soil. Some physico-mechanical indexes, such as the water content, dry density of soil, have close relationship with the matric suction. The experiments were conducted in the laboratory to study the relationship between the matric suction, the water content and dry density of unsaturated red clay. The filter paper method was used to get the soil-water characteristic curve of the unsaturated red clay. The results show that: water content has great impact on matrix suction. The soil-water characteristic curve can be divided into three stages. In low water content area, matrix suction decreases rapidly with the increase of water content.Then, the rate of change slows down after the inflection point. Matrix suction increases obviously with the increase of dry density under the condition of low water content, but the impact disappears under high water content. So the matrix suction is affected by dry density and water content.

To study the effect of recycled coarse aggregate, water-cement ratio and mixture ratio on the physico-mechanical properties of recycled concrete, determine the finial optimum mixture ratio and physico-mechanical properties of recycled concrete with the optimum mixture ratio, physico-mechanical tests are done on recycled concrete and conventional concrete. Results show that with the replacement rate increasing of recycled coarse aggregate, the compressive strength and splitting tensile strength of recycled concrete increase and then decrease. It is feasible to develop the concrete with 100% replacement rate of recycled coarse aggregate. With an increase of recycled coarse aggregate replacement rate, dry shrinkage ratio of concrete increases gradually, but the increasing range has little effect on the concrete. The concrete strength of 28 days is linear with water-cement ratio with the correlation coefficient is 0.98763. Taking appropriate mix design, the physico-mechanical properties of recycled concrete will surpass or be equivalent to those of conventional concrete. Recycled concrete of the optimum mixing rate is the high strength with lower brittleness.

SEM tests were conducted on four kinds of typical deep rocks in Meilinmiao Mine, and the micro properties were analyzed. The particles of gritstone are unbroken and particle diameter ranges from 80 μm to 400 μm, and the void between particles is wide. The macroscopic failure of gritstone is caused by breakage of the dung distributed between particles, and potassium feldspars contained in gritstone are not leached. The failure of medium sandstone is caused by micro cracks distributed in sandstone particles, and potassium feldspars are leached seriously, so the pores penetrate each other and there is close hydraulic connection in medium sandstone. The particles of fine sandstone are broken, and the particle diameters range from 60 μm to 300 μm, which determines the pores have good connectivity between particles. The dolomites contained in fine sandstone are corroded, and the micro fracture form belongs to inter-granular fracture. There are no particles and blocks in microstructure of sandy mudstone, but there are diverse micro cracks. The failure of mudstone arises from the extension of micro cracks, and the microstructure is different from the other three kinds of sandstones obviously.

Scientific supporting design is of great significance to ensure coal roadway stability. The three-step supporting design method is put forward for coal roadway support: The first step is preliminary design, determine the range of each supporting parameter according to the theoretical calculation and supporting experiences; the second step is numerical simulation calculation, choose the reasonable one through the comparison of schemes; the third step is field monitoring, verify the scheme applicability. After applying the three-step supporting design method to study 3# coal seam roadway in Guandi mine, the optimal supporting scheme is obtained, and good results of underground roadway are achieved, which ensure the stability of roadway surrounding rock. Meanwhile, some rules are summarized which provide references for future roadway supporting design.

Large scale homogenous growth of microcrystalline silicon (μc-Si:H) on cheap substrates by inductively coupled plasma (ICP) of Ar diluted SiH4 has been studied. From XRD and Raman spectrum, we find that substrates can greatly affect the crystalline orientation, and the μc-Si:H films are comprised of small particles. Thickness detection by surface profilometry shows that the thin μc-Si:H films are homogenous in large scale. Distributions of both ion density and electron temperature are found to be uniform in the vicinity of substrate by means of diagnosis of Langmuir probe. Based on these experimental results, it can be proposed that rough surfaces play important roles in the crystalline network formation and Ar can affect the reaction process and improve the characteristics of μc-Si:H films. Also, ICP reactor can deposit the thin film in large scale.

An important concern in the deposition of Si:H films is to obtain smooth surfaces. Herein, we deposit the thin Si:H films using Ar-diluted SiH 4 as feedstock gas in an inductively coupled plasma reactor. And we carry a real-time monitor on the deposition process by using optical emission spectrum technology in the vicinity of substrate and diagnose the Ar plasma radial distribution by Langmuir probe. Surface detecting by AFM and surface profilometry in large scale shows that the thin Si:H films have small surface roughness. Distributions of both the ion density and the electron temperature are homogeneous at h = 0.5 cm. Based on these experimental results, it can be proposed inductively coupled plasma reactor is fit to deposit the thin film in large scale. Also, Ar can affect the reaction process and improve the thin Si:H films characteristics.

Experimental and non-experimental stress significantly increase masseter muscle tone, which has been linked to the symptoms and pathogenesis of several stomatognathic system diseases. Until now, the mechanism underlying this phenomenon has remained unclear. The current study was performed to determine the mechanism of the stress-induced increase in masseter muscle tone and to investigate the effect of lamotrigine on this change. Animals challenged by repeated restraint stress received either saline as a vehicle or lamotrigine in doses of 20, 30 or 40 mg/kg body weight, whereas control animals received saline without stress treatment. Masseter muscle tone was assessed using electromyography. The activity of glutamate-related metabolic enzymes (glutaminase and glutamine synthetase) in the trigeminal motor nucleus was also investigated. Our results showed an interesting phenomenon: masseter muscle activity increased concurrently with the upregulation of the glutamate concentration after stress treatment. The activities of glutaminase and glutamine synthetase in the trigeminal motor nucleus were also upregulated and downregulated, respectively, when the rats were challenged by prolonged stress. The animals treated with lamotrigine at moderate and high doses had significantly decreased masseter muscle tone compared with stressed animals treated with vehicle. These results suggested that increased glutaminase activity and decreased glutamine synthetase activity increased glutamate production and decreased glutamate decomposition, causing an increase in glutamate levels in the trigeminal motor nucleus and eventually increasing masseter muscle tone. The administration of lamotrigine at doses of 30 or 40 mg/kg body weight effectively mitigated the adverse effects of stress on masseter muscle tone via inhibition of glutamate release.

To discuss the influence of intensive insulin therapy on insulin resistance of patients with severe burn or trauma.Sixty patients with severe burn or trauma hospitalized in the Third People's Hospital of Chongqing or Southwest Hospital of the Third Military Medical University from January 2010 to December 2011 were randomly divided into intensive insulin therapy group (IT, treated with intensive insulin therapy to control the blood glucose to the level of 6.0-8.0 mmol/L) and control group (C, treated with routine therapy) according to the paired grouping method, with 30 patients in each group. Before treatment and on post treatment day (PTD) 1, 3, 7, 10, 14, the levels of fasting blood glucose and fasting plasma insulin were determined. Insulin resistance index and β-cell function index were calculated using homeostasis model assessment. Data were processed with t test, analysis of variance, and LSD test.On PTD 1, 3, 7, 10, levels of fasting blood glucose in group IT [(6.8 ± 1.4), (6.7 ± 1.3), (5.8 ± 1.9), (5.4 ± 1.6) mmol/L] were significantly lower than those of group C [(14.8 ± 4.9), (12.7 ± 3.7), (7.7 ± 1.9), (6.6 ± 1.3) mmol/L, with t values respectively 12.453, 11.386, 5.563, 4.731, P0.05 or P0.01]. On PTD 3, 7, levels of fasting insulin in group IT [(14 ± 5), (10 ± 3) mU/L] were significantly lower than those of group C [(16 ± 4), (13 ± 4) mU/L, with t values respectively 4.212, 4.364, P values below 0.05]. Levels of fasting blood glucose and fasting insulin in the two groups at each time point were statistically significantly different from those before treatment (with P values below 0.01), except for the level of fasting blood glucose on PTD 3. On PTD 1, 3, 7, 10, levels of insulin resistance index in group IT (1.60 ± 0.80, 1.46 ± 0.70, 0.96 ± 0.21, 0.90 ± 0.23) were significantly lower than those in group C (2.15 ± 1.35, 2.21 ± 1.21, 1.50 ± 0.95, 1.17 ± 0.66, with t values respectively 8.316, 10.607, 7.825, 5.217, P0.05 or P0.01). Levels of insulin resistance index of patients in the two groups at each time point after treatment were significantly lower than those before treatment (with P values below 0.01). On PTD 1, 3, 7, levels of β-cell function index in group IT (4.6 ± 2.9, 4.5 ± 3.3, 4.5 ± 3.6) were significantly higher than those in group C (3.4 ± 2.5, 3.6 ± 2.2, 4.2 ± 2.5, with t values respectively 8.243, 7.914, 4.338, P0.05 or P0.01). Levels of β-cell function index in group C on PTD 1 and 3 were significantly lower than that before therapy (with P values below 0.05).Intensive insulin therapy can alleviate insulin resistance of patients with severe burn or trauma.

The reaction between polyoxometalate (POM) [TBA](12)[WZn{Zn(H(2)O)}(2)(ZnW(9)O(34))(2)] (TBA = tetrabutyl ammonium) and lanthanide (Ln) nitrate (Ln = La, Eu and Tb) in a mixed solvent of CH(3)CN and DMF yielded three noncentrosymmetric diamondoid Ln-POM solid materials, {[Ln(2)(DMF)(8)(H(2)O)(6)][ZnW(12)O(40)]}·4DMF (Ln-POM; Ln = La, Eu and Tb). In these compounds, the {ZnW(12)O(40)} unit, transferred from the metastable [WZn{Zn(H(2)O)}(2)(ZnW(9)O(34))(2)] cluster, acts as a tetradentate ligand to connect with four Ln nodes, while the Ln ion links up two {ZnW(12)O(40)} units. These compounds generated interesting luminescence emissions that are dependent on the Ln ions and their ratios. White light emission was obtained by a doped approach with a rational ratio of the Eu(3+) and Tb(3+) ions.

To study the correlation between prostate volume and body mass index, blood pressure, blood lipid and glucose in 30-50 year-old males.Prostate volume (PV), body mass index (BMI), blood pressure(BP), blood glucose (BG), blood cholesterol (CHOL), triglyceride (TG), low density lipoprotein (LDL) and high density lipoprotein (HDL) were measured in 1 002 30-50 year-old males. The correlation of PV with BMI, BP, BG, CHOL, TG, LDL, and HDL were analyzed with SPSS 13.0 statistical software.The subjects' average age was (43.66 ± 0.17) years, and their mean prostate volume (14.28±0.02) mL. The statistical analyses regarding the age (P=0.000, r=0.62), BMI (P=0.013,r=0.57), BG (P=0.032, r=0.52), CHOL (P=0.040,r=0.51), LDL (P=0.032, r=-0.50), HDL (P=0.017,r=-0.48) were significantly associated with PV. Adjusted for age factors, PV still had a strong correlation with BMI and LDL, P values were 0.029, 0.001, r values were 0.53, -0.49.In the 30-50 year-old males, BMI and dyslipidemia could be risk factors in the way of the enlargement of prostate volume. Weight control and therapy of blood lipid abnormalities may delay the increase of prostate volume.

To investigate the association of the serum testosterone (T) level with metabolic syndrome (MS).We enrolled in this investigation 1,006 men aged 30-60 years in Beijing and obtained the data on their blood pressure (BP), waist circumference (WC), fasting blood glucose (FBG), serum triglycerides (TG), high density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C) and serum testosterone (T). The men were divided into an MS group and a non-MS (NMS) group based on The Chinese Adult Dyslipidemia Prevention Guide 2007. The results were compared and analyzed.There was no statistically significant difference between the ages of the two groups (P0.05). Systolic BP (SBP), diastolic BP (DBP), WC, FBG and TG were significantly higher, while serum T and HDL-C remarkably lower in the MS than in the NMS group (P0.001). The serum T level was markedly decreased with the increase of MS components (P0.01). Both Pearson's correlation coefficients and multiple linear regression analyses showed that the serum T level was negatively correlated with age, WC, SBP and TG (P0.05).Low serum T level may predict the development of MS in men.

In order to control the ion density and energy distribution in the vicinity of plasma sheath independently, the inductively coupled plasma and its glow discharge mechanism in the vicinity of plasma sheath were studied by means of optical emission spectroscopy (OES) under different RF power, different discharge and different substrate DC bias voltage. It was shown that the ion density is higher and the electron temperature is lower in the vicinity of inductively coupled plasma sheath according to the ionic line and atomic line. With changing the discharge pressure and RF power, the spectral characteristics analysis shows that the ion density in the vicinity of plasma sheath linearly increases with the RF power and rises with the pressure under the low pressure. The atomic spectral intensity of low excitation states increases rapidly. The atomic spectral intensity of high excitation states rises slowly and the intensity of ion spectrum increases not obviously. By applying the DC bias voltage to substrate, the intensity of emission spectroscopy was analyzed. The result shows that the intensity of spectra rises with the increase in positive bias voltage, while first reduces then increases with the increase in negative bias voltage, and is the weakest in the case of DC bias at -30 V. This shows that the fast ions and the electrons are the main source of energy for Ar ionization and excitation.

To investigate the effects of intensive insulin therapy on inflammatory response and prognosis of patients with severe trauma.Eighty severely injured patients were divided into intensive insulin therapy group (n = 40, IT) and routine therapy group (n = 40, RT) in random pair. At the time of admission, a continuous infusion of insulin (2-4 U/h) was pumped into the patients of IT group to maintain blood glucose level at 6-8 mmol/L. Patients in RT group were given routine treatment without administration of insulin. Fever, organ injury, and mortality of patients in 2 groups were recorded. Venous blood was drawn from patients of 2 groups on the morning of post treatment day (PTD) 1, 3, 5, and 7. Values of TNF-alpha, C-reactive protein (CRP), IL-2, and IL-10 in plasma were assayed.High fever appeared in 9 patients in IT group, and WBC exceeded 10.0 x 10(9) for more than 3 days in 17 patients in this group, versus 20 and 29 patients respectively in RT group. Dysfunction of 1 organ appeared in 31 patients in IT group and 30 patients in RT group. Dysfunction of 3 organs appeared in 10 patients in IT group and 19 patients in RT group. Dysfunction of 4 organs appeared in 7 patients in IT group and 12 patients in RT group. In IT group, 4 patients died within 3 post-injury day (PID), and 1 patient died after PID 3 (total case fatality: 12.5%). In RT group, 5 patients died within 3 PID, and 4 patient died after PID 3 (total case fatality: 22.5%). Plasma levels of TNF-alpha and CRP of patients in IT group were significantly lower than those of patients in RT group on PID 3-7 ( P0.05 or P0.01), while levels of IL-2 and IL-10 of patients in IT group were significantly higher than those of patients in RT group (P0.05 or P0.01). Plasma levels of TNF-alpha (1.3 +/- 0.6 microg/L) and CRP (55 +/- 16 mg/L) of patients in IT group on PTD 7 were lowered to the trough level, and they were significantly lower than those of patients in RT group (3.0 +/- 0.8 microg/L, 89 +/- 20 mg/L, respectively, P0.01).Intensive insulin therapy can mitigate systemic inflammatory response and improve prognosis of patients with severe trauma.

Semantic Web makes the automatic discovery and invocation of Web Services become possible But existing methods perform the capability matching, which is crucial for service discovery, either only according to inputs and outputs (IO), which results in a not very precise matching, or trying to tackle arbitrary services, which results in an undecidable reasoning In this paper, targeting merely the information-providing type of Web Services, we present a precise and decidable matching method based on the Description Logic reasoner An outstanding property of our method is that it can determinate the accurate binding of IO between requested and advertised services, which is necessary for automatic invocation yet rarely addressed in previous work Besides, this paper also describes a useful use case for automatic Web Services discovery and invocation.
