Search

As an important sequential work of the S-wave $B_c^{(*)}$ ($^1S_0(^3S_1)$) meson production at the large hadron electron collider (LHeC), we investigate the production of the P-wave excited $B_c^{**}$ states ($^1P_1$ and $^3P_J$ with $J=0,1,2$) via photoproduction mechanism within the framework of nonrelativistic QCD at the LHeC. Generally, the $e^-+P \to \gamma+ g \rightarrow B_c^{**} +b+ \bar{c}$ process is considered as the main production mechanism at an electron-proton collider due to the large luminosity of the gluon. However, according to our experience on the S-wave $B_c^{(*)}$ meson production at the LHeC, the extrinsic production mechanism, i.e., $e^-+P \to\gamma+c \rightarrow B_c^{**} +b$ and $e^-+P \to\gamma+\bar{b} \rightarrow B_c^{**}+\bar{c}$, could also provide dominating contributions at low $p_T$ region. A careful treatment between these channels is performed and the results on total and differential cross sections, together with main uncertainties are discussed. Taking the quark masses $m_b=4.90\pm0.40$ GeV and $m_c=1.50\pm0.20$ GeV into account and summing up all the production channels, we expect to accumulate $(2.48^{+3.55}_{-1.75}) \times 10^4$ $B_c^{**}({^{1}P_1})$, $(1.14^{+1.49}_{-0.82}) \times 10^4$ $B_c^{**}({^{3}P_0})$, $(2.38^{+3.39}_{-1.74}) \times 10^4$ $B_c^{**}({^{3}P_1})$ and $(5.59^{+7.84}_{-3.93}) \times 10^4$ $B_c^{**}({^{3}P_2})$ events at the $\sqrt{S}=1.30~\rm{TeV}$ LHeC in one operation year with luminosity ${\cal L}= 10^{33}$ cm$^{-2}$s$^{-1}$. With such sizable events, it is worth studying the properties of excited P-wave $B_c^{**}$ states at the LHeC.

The effective Lagrangian formalism provides a way to study the new physics effects at the electroweak scale. We study the Higgs pair production via the vector-boson fusion (VBF) at the Large Hadron Collider within the framework of the effective field theory. The effects from the dimension-six operators involved in the VBF Higgs pair production, particularly $\mathcal{O}_{\Phi,2}$ and $\mathcal{O}_{\Phi,3}$ which are relevant to the triple Higgs self-coupling, on the integrated cross section and various kinematic distributions are investigated. We find that the distributions of Higgs pair invariant mass, Higgs transverse momentum and rapidity are significantly altered by the operators $\mathcal{O}_{\Phi,2}$ and $\mathcal{O}_{\Phi,3}$. These features are helpful in disentangling the contributions from the operators $\mathcal{O}_{\Phi,2}$ and $\mathcal{O}_{\Phi,3}$ in triple Higgs self-coupling. We also provide the 5$\sigma$ discovery and 3$\sigma$ exclusion limits for the coefficients of $\mathcal{O}_{\Phi,2}$ and $\mathcal{O}_{\Phi,3}$ by measuring the VBF Higgs pair production process including the sequential $H \rightarrow b\bar{b}$ decays at the $14~ {\rm TeV}$ LHC., Comment: 24 pages, 10 figures

In this paper we present the first study of the impact of the $\mathcal{O}(\alpha)$ EW correction to the $pp \to ZZ \gamma+X$ process at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The subsequent $Z$-boson leptonic decays are considered at the leading order using the MadSpin method, which takes into account the spin-correlation and off-shell effects from the $Z$-boson decays. We provide numerical results of the integrated cross section and the kinematic distributions for this process. In coping with final-state photon-jet separation in the QCD real emission and photon-induced processes, we adopt both the Frixione isolated-photon plus jets algorithm and the phenomenological quark-to-photon fragmentation function method for comparison. We find that the next-to-leading order (NLO) EW correction to the $ZZ\gamma$ production can be sizeable and amounts to about $-7\%$ of the integrated cross section, and provides a non$-$negligible contribution to the kinematic distributions, particularly in the high energy region. We conclude that the NLO EW correction should be included in precision theoretical predictions in order to match future experimental accuracy., Comment: 25 pages, 10 figures

The photoproduction of doubly heavy baryon, $\Xi_{cc}$, $\Xi_{bc}$ and $\Xi_{bb}$, is predicted within the nonrelativistic QCD at the Large Hadron Electron Collider (LHeC). The $\Xi_{QQ'}$ production via the photon-gluon fusing channel $\gamma + g \to \langle{QQ'}\rangle[n] +\bar{Q} +\bar{Q'}$ and the extrinsic heavy quark channel $\gamma + Q \to \langle{QQ'}\rangle[n]+\bar{Q'}$ have been considered, where $Q$ or $Q'$ stand for heavy $c$ or $b$ quark and $\langle{QQ'}\rangle[n]$ stands for a $QQ'$ diquark with given spin- and color- configurations $[n]$. The diquark shall fragmentate into $\Xi_{QQ'}$ baryon with high probability. For $\Xi_{cc}$ and $\Xi_{bb}$ production, $[n]$ equals $[^1S_0]_{\textbf{6}}$ (in configurations spin-singlet $^1S_0$-wave and color-sextuplet $\textbf{6}$) or $[^3S_1]_{\bar{\textbf{3}}}$ (in configurations spin-triplet $^3S_1$-wave and color-antitriplet $\bar{\textbf{3}}$) and for $\Xi_{bc}$ production, $[n]$ equals $[^1S_0]_{\bar{\textbf{3}}}$, $[^1S_0]_{{\textbf{6}}}$, $[^3S_1]_{\bar{\textbf{3}}}$ or $[^3S_1]_{\textbf{6}}$. A detailed comparison of those channels and configurations on total and differential cross sections, together with their uncertainties, is presented. We find the dominate contributions for $\Xi_{QQ'}$ production are from extrinsic heavy quark channel and for $[^3S_1]_{\bar{\textbf{3}}}$ configuration; While other diquark states can also provide sizable contributions to the $\Xi_{QQ'}$ production. As a combination of all the mentioned channels and configurations and by taking $m_c=1.80\pm0.10$ GeV and $m_b=5.1\pm0.20$ GeV, we observe that $(6.70^{+1.40}_{-1.10})\times 10^{3}$ $\Xi_{bb}$, $(8.81^{+3.08}_{-2.20})\times 10^{6}$ $\Xi_{cc}$ and $(4.63^{+1.21}_{-0.92})\times 10^{5}$ $\Xi_{bc}$ events can be generated at the LHeC in one operation year.

We calculate the next-to-leading order QCD corrections to the excited charmonium $\chi_{cJ}$ associated with $ W^+ b $ production from top-quark decay. Our results show that detecting the $\chi_{c0}$ production from top-quark decay is very difficult, but the $\chi_{c1}$ and $\chi_{c2}$ productions have the potential to be detected at the LHC. If the prompt $\chi_{cJ}$ production from top-quark decay is really detected at the LHC, it will be useful not only for investigating $J/\psi$ production from top-quark decay but also for understanding the heavy quarkonium production mechanism., Comment: 13 pages, 6 figures

In this paper we present the NLO QCD + NLO EW corrections to the $ZZZ$ production with subsequent $Z$-boson leptonic decays at the LHC by adopting the improved narrow width approximation, which takes into account off-shell contributions and spin correlations. Integrated cross sections at $13$, $14$, $33$ and $100~{\rm TeV}$ hadron colliders and various kinematic distributions are presented. Our numerical results show that the jet emission correction accounts for a large part of the total QCD correction, especially in the high energy region. By applying a proper cut to the jet transverse momentum, e.g., $p_{{\rm \,T,jet}} > p_{{\rm \,T,jet}}^{{\rm \,\,\,cut}}=50~{\rm GeV}$, the jet emission correction can be reduced and the cross section is less dependent on the factorization/renormalization scale. This work reveals that both the NLO QCD and the NLO EW corrections are significant. For example, the NLO QCD, NLO EW and NLO QCD + EW relative corrections in the inclusive event selection scheme at the $13~{\rm TeV}$ LHC can reach $63.2\%$, $-9.6\%$ and $47.5\%$, respectively, which means that neither the NLO QCD nor the NLO EW correction is negligible in precision calculations., Comment: 19 pages, 5 figures

We consider the $HZ$ associated production at the $14~{\rm TeV}$ LHC in the littlest Higgs model (LHM) and study the corrections of the transverse momentum resummation and threshold resummation at the next-to-leading logarithmic (NLL) accuracy and the fixed-order prediction at the QCD next-to-leading order (NLO) including the contribution from the one-loop-induced $gg$-fusion channel. The QCD NLO+NLL effects on the integrated cross section and the distributions of transverse momentum and invariant mass of the $HZ$ system for the $HZ$ production in the LHM are discussed. The distributions of transverse momentum and invariant mass of the $HZ$ system are evaluated by means of the transverse momentum resummation and threshold resummation, respectively. We estimate their scale uncertainties and find that the predictions obtained at the QCD NLO+NLL accuracy are much more reliable than those using the pure NLO approach. We see also that the relative deviation between the results in the LHM and the standard model is considerably reduced by the resummation effects, but still observable., Comment: 36 pages, 8 figures

In this paper we calculate the next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD $[{\cal O}(\alpha_s \alpha^3)]$ and electroweak (EW) $[{\cal O}(\alpha^4)]$ corrections to the $WWW$ production at the LHC and deal with the subsequent leptonic decays from $W$ bosons by adopting an improved narrow-width approximation which takes into account the spin correlation and finite-width effects. The NLO QCD correction from the real jet radiation is discussed, which significantly enhances the production rate, particularly in the high-energy region. We also provide the integrated cross section for the $WWW$ production and various kinematic distributions of final products at the QCD+EW NLO. We find that the convergence of the perturbative QCD description can be improved by applying a hard jet veto in the event selection, but this jet veto would introduce a new source of theoretical uncertainty. The pure NLO QCD relative correction to the integrated cross section for the $W^+W^-W^+$ production at the $14~{\rm TeV}$ LHC is on the order of $30\%$ in the jet-veto event selection scheme with $p^{\, {\rm cut}}_{T,\, {\rm jet}} = 50~{\rm GeV}$, while the genuine NLO EW relative correction can reach about $15\%$ in the inclusive event selection scheme. Our numerical results show that both the NLO QCD and NLO EW corrections should be taken into consideration in precision predictions., Comment: 25 pages, 6 figures

In this paper we present the full NLO QCD + NLO EW corrections to the $Z$-boson pair production in association with a hard jet at the LHC. The subsequent $Z$-boson leptonic decays are included by adopting both the naive NWA and MadSpin methods for comparison. Since the $ZZ+{\rm jet}$ production is an important background for single Higgs boson production and new physics search at hadron colliders, the theoretical predictions with high accuracy for the hadronic production of $ZZ+{\rm jet}$ are necessary. We present the numerical results of the integrated cross section and various kinematic distributions of final particles, and conclude that it is necessary to take into account the spin correlation and finite width effects from the $Z$-boson leptonic decays. We also find that the NLO EW correction is quantitatively nonnegligible in matching the experimental accuracy at the LHC, particularly is significant in high transverse momentum region., Comment: 22 pages, 9 figures

We investigate the possibility of searching the lepton-flavor-violating (LFV) $\tau\rightarrow \mu\gamma$ rare decay at the Super Charm-Tau Factory (CTF). By comparing the kinematic distributions of the LFV signal and the standard model (SM) background, we develop an optimized event selection criteria which can significantly reduce the background events. It is concluded that new $2 \sigma$ upper limit of about $1.9 \times 10^{-9}$ on $Br(\tau \rightarrow \mu \gamma)$ can be obtained at the CTF, which is beyond the capability of Super-B factory in searching $\tau$ lepton rare decay. Within the framework of the scalar leptoquark model, a joint constraint on $\lambda_1 \lambda_2$ and $M_{LQ}$ can be derived from the upper bound on $Br(\tau \rightarrow \mu \gamma)$. With $1000~ fb^{-1}$ data expected at the CTF, we get $\lambda_1\lambda_2 < 7.2 \times 10^{-2}~(M_{LQ} = 800~ {\rm GeV})$ and $M_{LQ} > 900~{\rm GeV}~(\lambda_1 \lambda_2 = 9 \times 10^{-2})$ at $95\%$ confidence level (C.L.)., Comment: 15 pages, 9 figures

We calculate the complete next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD corrections to the $T$-odd mirror quark pair ($q_-\bar q_-=u_-\bar u_-$, $c_-\bar c_-$, $d_-\bar d_-$, $s_-\bar s_-$) production in the littlest Higgs model with $T$-parity (LHT) at a high energy $\gamma \gamma$ collider. We present the dependence of the leading order (LO) and NLO QCD corrected cross sections on the colliding energy $\sqrt{s}$. Our calculation includes the subsequent full weak decays of the final $T$-odd mirror quarks by adopting the narrow width approximation and the exclusive 2-jet event selection criterion. We provide the LO and QCD NLO kinematic distributions of final particles. We find that the NLO QCD correction is phase space dependent and modifies the LO cross section evidently. The $K$-factor increases noticeably when $\sqrt{s}$ approaches the threshold of the on-shell $q_-$-pair production. We conclude that it is possible to separate the signature of the $T$-odd quark pair production from possible Standard Model background by taking proper kinematic cut., Comment: 17 pages, 7 figures

We investigate the double Higgs production and decay at the $14~ {\rm TeV}$ LHC and $33~ {\rm TeV}$ HE-LHC in both the standard model and Randall-Sundrum (RS) model. In our calculation we consider reasonably only the contribution of the lightest two Kaluza-Klein (KK) gravitons. We present the integrated cross sections and some kinematic distributions in both models. Our results show that the RS effect in the vicinities of $M_{HH} \sim M_{1}$, $M_{2}$ (the masses of the lightest two KK gravitons) or in the central Higgs rapidity region is quite significant, and can be extracted from the heavy SM background by imposing proper kinematic cuts on final particles. We also study the dependence of the cross section on the RS model parameters, the first KK graviton mass $M_1$ and the effective coupling $c_0$, and find that the RS effect is reduced obviously with the increment of $M_1$ or decrement of $c_0$., Comment: 26 pages, 11 figures

We report on the precision predictions for the $e^+e^-\to ZZ\gamma$ process including $Z$-boson leptonic decays at the ILC in the standard model (SM). The calculation includes the full next-to-leading (NLO) electroweak (EW) corrections and high order initial state radiation (h.o.ISR) contributions. We find that the NLO EW corrections heavily suppress the LO cross section, and the h.o.ISR effects are notable near the threshold while become small in high energy region. We present the LO and the NLO EW+h.o.ISR corrected distributions of the transverse momenta of final $Z$-boson and photon as well as the $Z$-pair invariant mass, and investigate the corresponding NLO EW and h.o.ISR relative corrections. We also study the leptonic decays of the final $Z$-boson pair by adopting the {\sc MadSpin} method where the spin correlation effect is involved. We conclude that both the h.o.ISR effects and the NLO EW corrections are important in exploring the $ZZ\gamma$ production at the ILC., Comment: 8 pages, 13 figures. Precision tests of the Standard Model (SM) require not only accurate experiments, but also precise and reliable theoretical predictions. Triple vector boson production provides a unique opportunity to investigate the quartic gauge couplings and check the validity of the gauge principle in the SM. Since the tree-level predictions alone are inadequate to meet this demand, the next-to-leading order (NLO) calculation becomes compulsory. In this paper, we calculate the NLO QCD + NLO electroweak (EW) corrections to the $W^{\pm}ZZ$ productions with subsequent leptonic decays at the $14~{\rm TeV}$ LHC by adopting an improved narrow width approximation which takes into account the off-shell contributions and spin correlations from the $W^{\pm}$- and $Z$-boson leptonic decays. The NLO QCD+EW corrected integrated cross sections for the $W^{\pm}ZZ$ productions and some kinematic distributions of final products are provided. The results show that both the NLO QCD and NLO EW corrections are significant. In the jet-veto event selection scheme with $p_{T,jet}^{cut} = 50~ {\rm GeV}$, the NLO QCD+EW relative corrections to the integrated cross section are $20.5\%$ and $31.1\%$, while the genuine NLO EW relative corrections are $-5.42\%$ and $-4.58\%$, for the $W^+ZZ$ and $W^-ZZ$ productions, respectively. We also investigate the theoretical dependence of the integrated cross section on the factorization/renormalization scale, and find that the scale uncertainty is underestimated at the LO due to the fact that the strong coupling $\alpha_s$ is not involved in the LO matrix elements., Comment: 19 pages, 8 figures

We investigate the process $pp \rightarrow HZ\gamma + X$ at the $\sqrt{s}=14~{\rm TeV}$ LHC up to the QCD next-to-leading order (NLO), and discuss the kinematic distributions of final products after on-shell Higgs and $Z$-boson decays by adopting the narrow width approximation. The dependence of the leading order (LO) and the QCD NLO corrected integrated cross sections on the factorization/renormalization scale is studied. Our results show that the LO integrated cross section and kinematic distributions are significantly enhanced by the NLO QCD corrections, and the NLO QCD $K$-factor strongly depends on the observables and phase space. We conclude that in precision experimental data analyse for probing the $HZ\gamma$ coupling we should consider the NLO QCD corrections and put proper constraints on lepton-pair invariant mass to reduce the background., Comment: 16pages, 7 figures

We provide and discuss the precision predictions for the $W^+W^-\gamma$ production at the ILC including the full electroweak (EW) one-loop corrections and high order initial state radiation (ISR) contributions in the Standard Model. The dependence of the leading order (LO) and EW corrected cross sections on the colliding energy is investigated. We find that the EW correction suppresses the LO cross section significantly, and the ISR effect beyond ${\cal O}(\alpha)$ is important near the threshold, but is negligible in the high energy region. We provide the LO and EW corrected distributions of the transverse momenta and rapidities of final $W^-$-boson and photon as well as the $W$-pair invariant mass. From the various kinematic distributions, we find that EW correction strongly depends on the final state phase space. We investigate the leptonic decays of the final W-boson pair by adopting the narrow width approximation (NWA), and find that the final produced photon and leptons can be well separated from each other., Comment: 23 pages, 11 figures

We investigate the di-Higgs events through $Z_H$-pair production at the CERN Large Hadron Collider including the pure next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD correction and the $gg$-fusion contribution in the framework of the littlest Higgs model with $T$ parity. We employ the diagram subtraction scheme in the QCD NLO calculations to avoid double counting and keep the convergence of the perturbative QCD description for the $Z_H$-pair production. We investigate the dependence of the leading order and QCD corrected integrated cross sections on the renormalization/factorization scale, and find that the total QCD corrections slightly reduce the scale uncertainty in the plotted range. By considering the subsequent decays of the intermediately produced $Z_H$ bosons and adopting the exclusive four-$b$-jet event selection criterion, the QCD correction provides considerable enhancement of the kinematic distributions for final decay products. We find that it is possible to select the signature of the $Z_H$-pair production from possible standard model background by taking proper kinematic cuts., Comment: 30 pages, 14 figures

Higgs boson production associated with a top quark pair is an important process in studying the nature of the newly discovered Higgs boson at the LHC. In this letter, we report on our calculations including the next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD and NLO electroweak corrections to the $pp\to t\bar{t}H$ process in the standard model. We present the integrated cross sections at the $14~{\rm TeV}$ LHC and even at the future proton-proton colliders with $\sqrt{s}=33$ and $100~{\rm TeV}$. Our calculation includes the top quark subsequent decays by adopting the narrow width approximation. The kinematic distributions of Higgs boson and top quark decay products at the LHC are provided. We find that the ${\cal O}(\alpha_s^2\alpha_{ew}^2)$ corrections are quantitatively comparable with the ${\cal O}(\alpha_s^3\alpha_{ew})$ corrections in some kinematic region., Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures

We perform the precision calculations for the \eeqq ($q_-\bar{q}_-=u_-\bar u_-, ~c_-\bar c_-,~ d_-\bar d_-,~s_-\bar s_-$) processes up to the QCD next-to-leading order (NLO) including full weak decays for the final $T$-odd mirror quarks in the littlest Higgs model with $T$-parity (LHT) at the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC). We show the dependence of the leading order (LO) and NLO QCD corrected cross sections on the colliding energy $\sqrt{s}$, and provide the LO and QCD NLO kinematic distributions of final particles. The results show that the LO cross section can be enhanced by the NLO QCD correction and the $K$-factor increases obviously when the threshold of the on-shell $q_-\bar{q}_-$-pair production approaches the colliding energy $\sqrt{s}$. The $K$-factor value varies in the range of $1.04 \sim 1.41$ in our chosen parameter space. We find that a simple approximation of multiplying the LO kinematic distribution with the integrated $K$-factor is not appropriate for precision study of the \eeqq ($q_-\bar{q}_-=u_-\bar u_-,~c_-\bar c_-,~d_-\bar d_-,~s_-\bar s_-$) processes, since the NLO QCD corrections are phase space dependent. It is necessary to calculate the differential cross sections including full NLO QCD corrections to get reliable results., Comment: 19 pages, 9 figures

In the framework of the littlest Higgs model with $T$ parity, we study the $W_H/Z_H+q_-$ and $W_H$-pair productions at the CERN Large Hadron Collider up to the QCD next-to-leading order (NLO). The kinematic distributions of final decay products and the theoretical dependence of the cross section on the factorization/renormalization scale are analyzed. We adopt the PROSPINO scheme in the QCD NLO calculations to avoid double counting and keep the convergence of the perturbative QCD description. By using the subtraction scheme, the QCD NLO corrections enhance the leading order cross section with a K-factor in the range of $1.00 \sim 1.43$ for $W_H(Z_H) q_-$ production process, and in the range of $1.09 \sim 1.22$ for the $W_H$ pair production process., Comment: 12 pages, 6 figures. We present the calculations for the same-sign $T$-odd mirror quark pair production of the first two generations in the littlest Higgs model with $T$-parity (LHT) at the $\sqrt{s}=14~{\rm TeV}$ LHC up to the QCD next-to-leading order (NLO) including the subsequent decays of the $T$-odd mirror quarks. The uncertainties from the factorization/renormalization scale and parton distribution functions (PDFs) are discussed. Our numerical results show that the PDF uncertainty of the NLO QCD corrected cross section for the same-sign $T$-odd mirror quark pair production of the first two generations is comparable with the scale uncertainty, and the combined uncertainty at the QCD NLO is much smaller than that at the LO with the factorization/renormalization scale $\mu$ in the range of $[\mu_0/4,~4\mu_0]$. We also study the dependence of the total cross section on the LHT parameters, and provide the transverse momentum, rapidity, invariant mass and $H_T$ distributions of final products., Comment: 20 pages, 8 figures

High energy colliders provide a new unique way to determine the microscopic properties of the dark matter (DM). Weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs) are widely considered as one of the best DM candidates. It is usually assumed that the WIMP couples to the SM sector through its interactions with quarks and leptons. In this paper, we investigate the DM pair production associated with a $Z$ boson in an effective field theory framework at the International Linear Collider (ILC), which can be used to study the interactions between the DM and leptons. For illustrative purposes, we present the integrated and differential cross sections for the $e^+ e^- \rightarrow \chi \bar{\chi} Z$ process, where the $Z$ boson is radiated from the initial state electron or positron. Meanwhile, we analyze the neutrino pair production in association with a $Z$ boson as the SM background., Comment: 12 pages, 5 figures

We present the precision predictions on the pair production of light, $CP$-even Higgs in weak vector boson fusion (VBF) up to the QCD next-to-next-to-leading-order (NNLO) at hadron colliders within the $CP$-conserving type-II two-Higgs-doublet model (2HDM(II)) by adopting the structure function approach. We investigate the model parameter dependence, residual uncertainties from the factorization/renormalization scale, PDFs and $\alpha_s$ on the integrated cross section at the QCD NNLO, and find that the NNLO QCD corrections can reduce the scale uncertainty significantly. By analyzing the kinematic distributions of final Higgs bosons, we can extract the $CP$-even Higgs resonance via $H^0 \to h^0 h^0$ channel as a means of probing the extension of the Standard Model (SM) Higgs sector., Comment: 24 pages, 8 figures

We investigate the QCD next-to-leading order (NLO) corrections to the production of a pair of fermionic dark matter particles associated with a W boson production through a mediator which couples to standard model particles via either a vector or axial-vector coupling at the LHC. We find that the QCD NLO corrections reduce the dependence of the total cross sections on the factorization and renormalization scales, and the $K$-factors increase with the increment of the dark matter mass. The measurement of the Higgs pair production via vector boson fusion can be used to test the trilinear Higgs self-coupling and the $VVHH$ $(V=Z,W)$ quartic gauge interactions. In this paper we present the calculations of the next-to-next-to-leading-order QCD corrections to the SM Higgs boson pair production via vector boson fusion at hadron colliders with the center-of-mass energy of $14$, $33$, and $100 {\rm TeV}$ by using the structure function approach, and study the residual uncertainties from the factorization/renormalization scale, parton distribution functions and $\alpha_s$ on the total cross section. We also provide the distributions of transverse momenta, rapidities, invariant mass and azimuthal angle separations of final Higgs bosons. We observe a considerable quantitative reduction in the scale uncertainty due to the next-to-next-to-leading-order QCD corrections, and find that the total cross section is sensitive to the trilinear Higgs self-coupling., Comment: 27 pages, 11 figures

We investigate the possible large extra dimensions (LED) effects induced by the Kaluza-Klein gravitons up to the QCD next-to-leading order (NLO) on $ZZW$ production at the large hadron collider (LHC). The integrated cross sections and some kinematic distributions are presented in both the standard model (SM) and the LED model. The numerical results demonstrate that the NLO QCD corrections are sizeable and remarkably reduce the leading order (LO) LED effect depending strongly on the phase space. The NLO LED relative discrepancies of the total cross section could become sizable for the $ZZW$ production, if we apply proper event selection criteria. We find that the LO result overestimates the LED effect and is insufficient to provide a believable theoretical prediction., Comment: 17 pages, 6 figures

We investigate the resonant production of the lighter sbottom at the proposed Large Hadron Electron Collider and its subsequent decay into $e^- + jet$ final state, under the single coupling dominance hypothesis in the framework of the $R$-parity-violating minimal supersymmetric standard model. It is concluded that the LHeC running at the high electron beam energy configuration of $E_e = 150 {\rm GeV}$ would provide excellent opportunities to search for the sbottom resonance and probe the lepton-number-violating $\hat{L}\hat{Q}\hat{D}$ $\lambda^{\prime}_{113}$-type Yukawa interaction. With about $1 fb^{-1}$ integrated luminosity expected in $E_e = 150 {\rm GeV}$ $e^-p$ collision at the LHeC, either the lighter sbottom RPV resonance could be directly detected up to $1 {\rm TeV}$, or the $L$-violating coupling $\lambda^{\prime}_{113}$ could be constrained at an unprecedented level of precision compared with all the knowledge derived from indirect measurements., Comment: 15 pages, 7 figures

In the framework of the littlest Higgs model with $T$ parity, we present complete calculations for the $A_H q_-$ $(q_-=u_-, \bar{u}_-,d_-, \bar{d}_-,c_-, \bar{c}_-,s_-, \bar{s}_-)$ associated production up to the QCD next-to-leading order (NLO) at the CERN Large Hadron Collider with subsequent pure weak decay of $T$-odd mirror quark. We apply the PROSPINO scheme to avoid the double counting problem and to keep the convergence of the perturbative QCD description. The theoretical correlations between the integrated cross section and the factorization and renormalization scale, the global symmetry-breaking scale and the Yukawa coupling parameter are studied separately. We also provide the kinematic distributions of the final decay products. Our numerical results show that the NLO QCD correction reduces the scale uncertainty and enhances the leading-order integrated cross section remarkably, with the $K$ factor varying in the range of $1.41 \sim 1.68$ ($1.58 \sim 1.89$) as the increment of the global symmetry-breaking scale $f$ from $500~{\rm GeV}$ to $1.5~{\rm TeV}$ ($1.1~{\rm TeV}$) at the $\sqrt{s} = 14~{\rm TeV}$ ($8~{\rm TeV}$) LHC. We find that it is possible to select the signal events of the $A_Hq_-$ production from its background by putting proper cuts on the final leading jet and missing energy., Comment: 28 pages, 14 figures

Precision measurement for the production of a $Z$-boson in association with two photons is important for investigating the Higgs boson and exploring new physics at the International Linear Collider. It could be used to study the $ZZ\gamma\gamma$ anomalous quartic gauge coupling. In this work we report on our calculation of the full ${\cal O} (\alpha^4)$ contributions to the $e^+e^- \to Z \gamma\gamma $ process in the standard model, and we analyze the electroweak (EW) quantum effects on the total cross section. We investigate the dependence of the $Z\gamma\gamma$ production rate on the event selection scheme and provide distributions for some important kinematic observables. We find that the next-to-leading order (NLO) EW corrections can enhance the total cross section quantitatively from $2.32\%$ to $9.61\%$ when the colliding energy goes up from $250 GeV$ to $1 TeV$, and the NLO EW corrections show obviously a non trivial phase space dependence. We conclude that in studying the signal process $e^+e^- \to ZH \to Z \gamma\gamma $, the background process $e^+e^- \to Z \gamma\gamma $ can be suppressed significantly if we take appropriate kinematic cuts on the final products., Comment: 18 pages, 10 figures

The Higgs boson production associated with a $W$-boson and a photon at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) can be used to probe the coupling between Higgs boson and vector gauge bosons and discover a signature of new physics. We present the precision predictions up to the QCD next-to-leading-order (NLO) in the standard model for this process involving the subsequential weak decays of the final Higgs and $W$-boson. The dependence of the leading order (LO) and the QCD NLO corrected integrated cross sections on the factorization/renormalization energy scale is studied. We provide the LO and QCD NLO corrected distributions of the transverse momenta and rapidities of final products. In this paper we examine thoroughly the single (anti-)top quark production associated with a lightest neutralino at the possible CERN Large Hadron Electron Collider (LHeC). We calculate the full next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD corrections to the process including all the nonresonant diagrams and do not assume the production and decay factorization for the possible resonant top squarks in the R-parity violating minimal supersymmetric standard model with 19 unrelated parameters. We investigate numerically the effects of the relevant supersymmetry (SUSY) parameters on the cross section, and present the transverse momentum distributions of final (anti-)top quark at both the leading-order (LO) and the QCD NLO. We find that the NLO QCD corrections enhance the LO cross sections in most chosen parameter space, and the NLO QCD impacts on the transverse momentum distributions of the final (anti-)top quark might be resolvable in some cases. We conclude that even with recently known experimental constraints the on SUSY parameters, the production rate could still achieve notable value in the admissible parameter space., Comment: 21 pages, 10 figures

We calculate the complete next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD corrections to the $J/\psi +W$ associated production within the factorization formalism of nonrelativistic QCD at the $7 TeV$ LHC. We provide the numerical results for the leading-order (LO), NLO QCD corrected differential cross sections of the $J/\psi$ transverse momentum by adopting the event selection criteria requested by the ATLAS experiment. We study the $W^+W^-\gamma(Z)$ productions at both the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) in the framework of the Randall-Sundrum (RS) model. The impacts of the virtual RS Kaluza-Klein (KK) graviton on these processes are studied and compared with the standard model (SM) background. We present the integrated and differential cross sections in both the RS model and the SM. The results show that the relative RS discrepancies at the CLIC differ from those at the LHC, particularly in the transverse momentum and rapidity distributions. We also find that the RS signature performance, as a result of the resonance character of the RS KK-graviton spectrum, is distinctively unlike that in the large extra dimensions model. We conclude that the CLIC with unprecedented precision and high center-of-mass energy has a potential advantage over the LHC in exploring the effects of the RS KK graviton on the $W^+W^-\gamma(Z)$ production processes., Comment: 22 pages, 18 figures

We investigate the effects of the littlest Higgs model with $T$ parity up to the QCD next-to-leading order (NLO) on the $W_H^{\pm} Z_H$ productions at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC), and discuss the kinematic distributions of final decay products and the theoretical dependence of the cross section on the factorization/renormalization scale. We find the QCD NLO corrections reduce the scale uncertainty of the leading order cross section in case of $\mu_F=\mu_R$. By adopting the PROSPINO subtraction scheme (scheme (II)) in analysing the QCD NLO contributions, we can obtain the numerical results which keep the convergence of the perturbative QCD description. Our results by adopting scheme (II) at the $14 {\rm TeV}$ ($8 {\rm TeV}$) LHC show that the $K$-factor for the $W_H^+ Z_H$ production varies in the range of $1.01 \sim 1.10$ ($1.00 \sim 1.08$), while the $K$-factor for the $W_H^- Z_H$ production varies in the range of $1.11 \sim 1.13$ ($1.11 \sim 1.12$), when the global symmetry breaking scale $f$ goes from $400 {\rm GeV}$ to $1.5 {\rm TeV}$ ($1 {\rm TeV}$)., Comment: 27 pages, 14 figures and 3 tables, accepted for publication in Phys. We investigate the complete next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD corrections to $\Upsilon(1S) +W$ production at the LHC, and predict theoretically the distribution of the $\Upsilon(1S)$ transverse momentum. We analyse the contributions from different components up to the QCD NLO in the \ppUW process. Our results show that the \ppUW process has a large production rate and could be potentially detected at the LHC. We see that the differential cross section for the $\Upsilon(1S)$ direct-production at the LO is significantly enhanced by the QCD corrections, and the $b\bar{b} [ ^3S_1^{(8)} ]$ contribution component dominates in the whole plotted $p_T^{\Upsilon(1S)}$ region. We have also calculated the $\Upsilon(1S)$ meson indirect-productions via feed-down decays of $\Upsilon(2S)$, $\Upsilon(3S)$, $\chi_{b1}(1P)$, $\chi_{b2}(1P)$, $\chi_{b1}(2P)$, and $\chi_{b2}(2P)$ mesons. We find that the $\Upsilon(1S)$ indirect-productions can give important contributions to the distribution of $p_T^{\Upsilon(1S)}$ for the \ppUW process at the NLO. We conclude that the studying the $\Upsilon(1S)+W$ production at the LHC could provide an interesting opportunity in testing the nonrelativistic QCD factorization formalism., Comment: 12 pages, 7 figures, accepted by JHEP

We investigate the effects induced by the interactions of the Kaluza-Klein (KK) graviton with the standard model (SM) particles on the triple $Z^0$-boson production process at the ILC in the framework of the large extra dimension (LED) model. We present the dependence of the integrated cross sections on the electron-positron colliding energy $\sqrt{s}$, and various kinematic distributions of final $Z^0$ bosons and their subsequential decay products in both the SM and the LED model. We also provide the relationship between the integrated cross section and the fundamental scale $M_S$ by taking the number of the extra dimensions ($d$) as 3, 4, 5, and 6, respectively. The numerical results show that the LED effect can induce a observable relative discrepancy for the integrated cross section ($\delta_{LED}$), which can reach the value of $13.11% (9.27%)$ when $M_S = 3.5 (3.8) TeV$ and the colliding energy $\sqrt{s} = 1 TeV$. We find the relative discrepancy of LED effect can even reach few dozen percent in the high transverse momentum area or the central rapidity region of the final $Z^0$-bosons and muons., Comment: 14 pages, 7 figures

We investigate the effect induced by the Kaluza-Klein (KK) graviton in the $W^+W^-\gamma/Z$ production in the framework of the large extra dimensions (LED) model at both the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and the International Linear Collider (ILC). The integrated cross sections and various kinematic distributions in the LED model are presented and compared with those in the standard model. The results show that the contributions from KK-graviton exchange remarkably affect the observables of the triple gauge boson ($W^+W^-\gamma/Z$) production processes at both the ILC and the LHC, particularly either in the high transverse momentum region or in the central rapidity region. We also find that the relative LED discrepancy for the $W^+W^-\gamma/Z$ production at the LHC is generally larger than that at the ILC due to the additional LED contribution via $gg$ fusion subprocess and the KK-graviton exchanging resonant effect induced by the continuous large colliding energy in $pp$ collision. We conclude that the $W^{+}W^{-}\gamma$ and $W^{+}W^{-}Z$ productions at the LHC could have the distinct advantage over at the ILC from the aspect of effectively exploring the LED signal in measuring $W^+W^-\gamma/Z$ production., Comment: 23 pages, 19 figures

In the framework of the littlest Higgs model with $T$ parity, we study the $W_H$-pair production at the CERN Large Hadron Collider up to the QCD next-to-leading order (NLO). The kinematic distributions of final decay products and the theoretical dependence of the cross section on the factorization/renormalization scale are analyzed. We adopt the PROSPINO scheme in the QCD NLO calculations to avoid double counting and keep the convergence of the perturbative QCD description. We find that it is possible to select the signal events of the $W_H$-pair production from the $pp\to W^+ W^- \to e^+ \mu^-\nu_{e}\bar{\nu}_{\mu}+X$ background with high ratio of signature over background by taking proper lower limits on transverse momenta, invariant mass of the final charged leptons and the missing transverse momentum., Comment: 34 pages, 14 figures, 4 tables

We calculate the complete next-to-leading order QCD corrections to the three-body decay of gluino into top-pair associated with a lightest neutralino in the minimal supersymmetric standard model. We obtain that the LO and NLO QCD corrected decay widths of $\tilde{g} \to t \bar{t} \tilde{\chi}_1^0$ at the ${\rm SPS 6}$ benchmark point are $0.1490 GeV$ and 0.1069 GeV respectively, and the relative correction is -28.2%. We investigate the dependence of the QCD correction to $\tilde{g} \to t \bar{t} \tilde{\chi}_1^0$ on $\tan\beta$ and the masses of gluino, scalar top quarks and the lightest neutralino around the ${\rm SPS6}$ benchmark point, separately. We find that the NLO QCD corrections suppress the LO decay width, and the absolute relative correction can exceed 30% in some parameter space. Therefore, the QCD corrections to the three-body decay $\tilde{g} \to t\bar{t}\tilde{\chi}^0_1$ should be taken into account for the precise experimental measurement at future colliders. Moreover, we study the distributions of the top-pair invariant mass ($M_{t\bar t}$) and the missing energy ($E^{miss}$), and find that the line shapes of the LO distributions of $M_{t\bar t}$ and $E^{miss}$ are not obviously distorted by the NLO QCD corrections., Comment: 23 pages, 10 figures

In this work we investigate the effects of the littlest Higgs model (LHM) up to the QCD next-to-leading order (NLO) on the $Z^0H^0$ associated production at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We study the dependences of the leading order and NLO QCD corrected integrated cross sections for this process on the factorization/renormalization scale and the LHM parameters. We also provide the distributions of the transverse momenta of final decay products $\mu^-$ and $\tau^-$. Our results show that the heavy neutral gauge bosons $Z_H$ and $A_H$ could induce significant discrepancies from the standard model predictions. It is found that when the LHM parameters are taken as $c=0.5$, $c^{\prime}=0.22$, $f=4 TeV$ and $\mu=(M_H+M_Z)/2$, the effects at the $\sqrt{s}=14 TeV$ LHC from the heavy neutral gauge boson are about 12.83% and 10.37% to the leading order and NLO QCD corrected integrated cross sections, respectively. We also conclude that the NLO QCD corrections at the $\sqrt{s}=14 TeV$ LHC can obviously reduce the scale uncertainty of the integrated cross section, and significantly enhance the differential cross sections of $p_T^{\mu^-}$ and $p_T^{\tau^-}$. It demonstrates that the precision measurement of the $Z^0H^0$ associated production process at the LHC could provide the clue of the LHM physics., Comment: 26 pages, 11 figures

We calculate the complete next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD corrections to the $Z^0H^0$ production in association with a jet at the LHC. We study the impacts of the NLO QCD radiative corrections to the integrated and differential cross sections and the dependence of the cross section on the factorization/renormalization scale. We present the transverse momentum distributions of the final $Z^0$-, Higgs-boson and leading-jet. We find that the NLO QCD corrections significantly modify the physical observables, and obviously reduce the scale uncertainty of the LO cross section. The QCD K-factors can be 1.183 and 1.180 at the $\sqrt{s}=14 TeV$ and $\sqrt{s}=7 TeV$ LHC respectively, when we adopt the inclusive event selection scheme with $p_{T,j}^{cut}=50 GeV$, $m_H=120 GeV$ and $\mu=\mu_r=\mu_f=\mu_0 \equiv 1/2(m_Z+m_H)$. Furthermore, we make the comparison between the two scale choices, $\mu=\mu_0$ and $\mu=\mu_1=1/2(E_{T}^{Z}+E_{T}^{H}+ \sum_{j}E_{T}^{jet})$, and find the scale choice $\mu=\mu_1$ seems to be more appropriate than the fixed scale $\mu=\mu_0$., Comment: 18 pages, 7 figures

Single slepton production in association with a top quark at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is one of the important processes in probing the R-parity violation couplings. We calculate the QCD next-to-leading order (NLO) corrections to the $pp \to t\slep^{-}(\bar{t}\slep^{+})+X$ process at the LHC and discuss the impacts of the QCD corrections on kinematic distributions. We investigate the dependence of the leading order (LO) and the NLO QCD corrected integrated cross section on the factorization/renormalization energy scale, slepton, stop-quark and gluino masses. We find that the uncertainty of the LO cross section due to the energy scale is obviously improved by the NLO QCD corrections, and the exclusive jet event selection scheme keeps the convergence of the perturbative series better than the inclusive scheme. The results show that the polarization asymmetry of the top-quark will be reduced by the NLO QCD corrections, and the QCD corrections generally increase with the increment of the $\tilde{t}_1$ or $\tilde{g}$ mass value., Comment: 33 pages, 18 figures, published version of EPJC

The $e^+e^- \to \gamma\gamma b\bar b$ is an irreducible background process in measuring the $H^0 \to \gamma\gamma$ decay width, if Higgs boson is produced in association with a $Z^0$-boson which subsequently decays via $Z^0 \to b\bar b$ at the ILC. In this paper we study the impact of the ${\cal O}(\alpha_s)$ QCD corrections to the observables of the $e^+e^- \to \gamma\gamma b\bar b$ process in the standard model. In the framework of the littlest Higgs model with T parity, we study the $W_H/Z_H$ production in association with a T-odd (anti)quark of the first two generations at the CERN Large Hadron Collider up to the QCD next-to-leading order. The kinematic distributions of final decay products and the theoretical dependence of the cross section on the factorization/renormalization scale are discussed. We apply three schemes in considering the QCD NLO contributions and find that the QCD NLO corrections by adopting the (II) and (III) subtraction schemes can keep the convergence of the perturbative QCD description and reduce the scale uncertainty of the leading order cross section. By using these two subtraction schemes, the QCD NLO corrections to the $W_H(Z_H) q_-$ production process enhance the leading order cross section with a K-factor in the range of $1.00 \sim 1.43$., Comment: 31 pages, 12 figures, accepted by Phys. In the framework of the large extra dimensions (LED) model, we investigate the effects induced by the Kaluza-Klein (KK) gravitons up to the QCD next-to-leading order (NLO) on the $W$-pair production followed by a subsequential $W$-decay at the CERN LHC. We depict the regions in the $\mathcal{L}-M_{S}$ parameter space where the LED effect can and cannot be observed from the analyses of the $pp \to W^+W^- + X$ and $pp \to W^+W^- \to W^{\pm}l^{\mp}\stackrel{(-)}{\nu} + X$ processes. We find that the ability of probing the LED effects can be improved by taking the cutoffs for the invariant mass of $W$-pair and the transverse momentum of the final lepton. Our results demonstrate that the NLO QCD corrections to observables are significant, and do not show any improvement for the renormalization/factorization scale uncertainty on the QCD NLO corrected cross section, because the LO result underestimates the scale dependence., Comment: 25 pages, 14 figures

We present the theoretical predictions including the complete next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD corrections to the top-quark pair production in association with a photon at the LHC with center-of-mass system energy of $7 {\rm TeV}$. The uncertainties of the leading order (LO) and NLO QCD corrected cross sections due to the renormalization/factorization scale, and the distributions of the transverse momenta of final top-quark and photon are studied. Moreover, we provide the numerical results of the LO, NLO QCD corrected cross sections and the corresponding $K$-factors with different photon transverse momentum cuts. We investigate the possibility of detecting single sqaurk production at the proposed LHeC collider, in the framework of R-parity violating supersymmetry. Taking advantage of the enhancement of the direct resonance production of squark and the distinctive kinematics distributions of $\tilde{q}\rightarrow l q$ two body decay final states, the LHeC provides excellent opportunities of probing R-violating $\hat{L}\hat{Q}\hat{D}$ interactions at unprecedented level compared to all the knowledge derived from indirect low energy nucleon measurements. If no apparent deviation from SM predictions on high invariant mass of muon and b-quark final states at the LHeC with 1$fb^{-1}$ data, the sensitivities on $\hat{L}\hat{Q}\hat{D}$ coupling constant $\lambda^{'}_{131} \times \lambda^{'}_{233}$ can be improved by nearly four orders, at energy scale about 100 GeV., Comment: 9 pages, 8 figures

The $W$-pair production in association with a massive (anti)bottom jet is not only an important background to a number of interesting processes, such as the single top production associated with a W boson, but also a potential background to new physics searches. We present the calculations of the total and differential cross sections for the $W^+W^-+ b(\bar{b})$ jet productions at the LHC up to the QCD next-to-leading order (NLO). Our results by adopting the QCD NLO contribution collection scheme-I show that the K factors can be 1.66 and 1.21 with the inclusive and exclusive two-jet event selection schemes respectively, when we set $m_H=120 GeV$, $\mu=m_W+m_b/2$ and take the constraints of $p_{T,b(\bar{b})}>25 GeV$, $|y_{b(\bar{b})}|<2.5$ for $b(\bar{b})$ jet. We find that the stabilization of the theoretical prediction for the integrated cross section for the $pp \to W^+W^-b(\bar b)+X$ up to the QCD NLO requires a veto on a second isolated hard jet and the inclusion of the QCD NLO contribution from the $W^+W^-b\bar{b}(bb, \bar{b}\bar{b})$ production with the final two $b(\bar{b})$ quarks being merged as one jet., Comment: Published version in PRD
