Objective To investigate the disability and influencing factors of newly diagnosed leprosy cases in Wenshan Prefecture, and to provide theoretical basis for reducing the incidence of disability in leprosy and reducing the harm of leprosy. Methods All leprosy patients diagnosed in Wenshan Prefecture, Yunnan Province from 2013 to 2022 were selected as the research subjects, and the epidemiological information and case data of the patients were collected. An excel database was established and SPSS26. 0 software was used to analyze the data. Results A total of 366 newly diagnosed leprosy cases were collected, of which 64 cases develop disability, with disability rate of 17.49%, the rate of disability grade 1 of 6.28%, and the rate of disability grade 2 of 11.20 %. Currently, leprosy is mainly detected in dermatology clinics (49. 80%), and diagnosis delayed > 2 years and paucibacillary leprosy(PB) were the risk factors for the development of disability in leprosy patients (P < 0.05). Conclusion Delay of diagnosis > 2 years and PB in leprosy patients have a higher risk of developing disability. Medical institutions should strengthen the screening of suspected symptoms of leprosy, perform early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment, reduce the delayed diagnosis of leprosy, reduce the proportion of newly diagnosed leprosy patients with disability, and improve the quality of life of leprosy patients. Angiopteris nodosipetiolata Ting Wang tris, H.F.Chen & Y.H.Yan, a new fern of Marattiaceae, is described and illustrated. Morphologically, A. nodosipetiolata is similar to A. chingii with more than one naked pulvinus on the stipe and numerous jointed hairs on the undersides of the mature pinnae. However, the pinnae of A. nodosipetiolata are lanceolate and can reach up to 4–6 pairs, whereas they are elliptic and occur in 2–3 pairs in A. chingii. Phylogenetic and genetic distance analysis, based on the plastid genomes, also indicates that A. nodosipetiolata is not closely related to A. chingii. Currently, there are ca. 500 mature individuals in Gulinqing Nature Reserve and we suggest A. nodosipetiolata should be categorised as an Endangered (EN) species according to the criteria of IUCN. In July 2019, one male adult Rana specimen of Anura family(Ranidae)was collected in the Gulinqing Provincial Nature Reserve(22°45'16. 36" N, 103°57'43. 17" E; als 1,160 m), located in Maguan County, Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. Specimen's snout-vent length(SVL) is 38. 3 mm. It has smooth skin, brown dorsum with "Λ" shaped tubercle series on its shoulder, anterior do sum with small tubercles, light yellow venter with dark cloudy spots, finger tips slightly expanding without groove, and slim legs. The tibias reach over half of its body length; tarsal fold present small tubercles, toes tips form suction with lateroventral groove; feet are full-webbing, fore/hindlimbs dorsum have dark brown transverse bands. The morphological characteristics of our Rana specimen show great similarity with Rana johnsi(Smith, 1921) from Lam Tung Province, Vietnam, but only a slight difference in body size. Phylogeny analysis by 168 rRNA fragment revealed that our specimen formed in a single lineage with R. johnsi from Lam Dong Province, Vietnam (p-distance, 0. 8%). It is confirmed that this specimen is a newly recorded species of Amphibia in Yunnan Province. Abstract Background The emergence of human infection with avian influenza A(H7N9) virus was reported in Wenshan City, southwestern China in 2017. The study describes the epidemiological and virological features of the outbreak and discusses the origin of the infection. Methods Poultry exposure and timelines of key events for each patient were collected. Samples derived from the patients, their close contacts, and environments were tested for influenza A(H7N9) virus by real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction. Genetic sequencing and phylogenetic analysis were also conducted. Results Five patients were reported in the outbreak. An epidemiological investigation showed that all patients had been exposed at live poultry markets. The A(H7N9) isolates from these patients had low pathogenicity in avian species. Both epidemiological investigations of chicken sources and phylogenetic analysis of viral gene sequences indicated that the source of infection was from Guangxi Province, which lies 100 km to the east of Wenshan City. Conclusions In the study, a sudden emergence of human cases of H7N9 was documented in urban area of Wenshan City. Chickens were an important carrier in the H7N9 virus spreading from Guangxi to Wenshan. Hygienic management of live poultry markets and virological screening of chickens transported across regions should be reinforced to limit the spread of H7N9 virus.

The species of the genus Discogobio (Teleostei: Cyprinidae) inhabiting the Wenshan prefecture (branches of upper Red River) of Yunnan Province, China are reviewed. The authors recognize four species from the prefecture, Discogobio antethoracalis n. sp., Discogobio propeanalis n. sp., Discogobio poneventralis n. sp., and D. yunnanensis. D. antethoracalis and D. propeanalis had previously been identified as Discogobio brachyphysallidos. D. antethoracalis can be distinguished from D. brachyphysallidos by the following characters: snout rounded, not projected (versus slightly pointed, projected); head length 17.5–20.6% of SL (vs. 20.8–22.8); prepectoral length 16.3–18.3% of SL (vs. 19.1–22.0); interorbital width 52.5–60.9% of head length (vs. 44.7–50.0); anus to anal-fin origin distance 25% posterior end of pelvic-fin base to anal-fin origin distance (versus less than 25). D. propeanalis can be distinguished from D. brachyphysallidos by the following combination of characters: interorbital width greater than half of head length (versus less than half); pelvic-fin extending beyond anal-fin origin (versus not reaching anal-fin origin); anus closer to anal-fin origin, anus to anal-fin origin distance less than 25% posterior end of pelvic-fin base to anal-fin origin distance (versus more than 25%). D. poneventralis, with a small oral sucking disc (its posterior edge not reaching vertical of anterior margin of eye) is similar to Discogobio longibarbatus and D. macrophysallidos, but distinct from them in the following characters: rostral barbels equal to eye diameter (versus twice as long as eye diameter in D. longibarbatus); maxillary barbels not reaching posterior margin of oral sucking disc (versus beyond in D. longibarbatus); mid-ventral region anterior to pelvic-fin insertion scaleless (versus scaled in D. macrophysallidos); prepelvic length 57.1–58.1% of SL (vs. 52.4–55.6 in D. macrophysallidos); pectoral-pelvic length 40.8–41% of SL (vs. 32.6–35.9 in D. macrophysallidos); head length 17.5–18.4% of SL (vs. 19.8–21.8 in D. macrophysallidos); and snout length 44.9–47.2% of HL (vs. 48.9–55.4 in D. macrophysallidos).
