The exponential growth of biomedical knowledge in computable formats challenges organizations to consider mobilizing artifacts in findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable, and trustable (FAIR+T) ways1. There is a growing need to apply biomedical knowledge artifacts to improve health in Learning Health Systems, health delivery organizations, and other settings. However, most organizations lack the infrastructure required to consume and apply computable knowledge, and national policies and standards adoption are insufficient to ensure that it is discoverable and used safely and fairly, nor is there widespread experience in the process of knowledge implementation as clinical decision support. The Mobilizing Computable Biomedical Knowledge (MCBK) community formed in 2016 to address these needs. This report summarizes the main outputs of the Fourth Annual MCBK public meeting, which was held virtually July 20 to July 21, 2021 and convened over 100 participants spanning diverse domains to frame and address important dimensions for mobilizing CBK. The article discusses issues regarding the use of customer feedback to redesign an Internet of Intranet sites. In an effort to serve veterans in the U.S., the Department of Veteran's Affairs (VA) redesigned its web site to make it attractive and user friendly. In VA, webmaster duties vary from facility to facility and many VA webmasters maintain many thousands of pages. The article notes that customer evaluation of hospital web sites are an important factor in design and that hospital librarians can incorporate their organization's customer preferences in web design and navigation.

The author discusses various changes in the Medical Library Association (MLA) Research Section of the journal which include changes in the composition of its contributors, moving the Research Section web site to WordPress, and redesigning its welcome letter.

The article discusses international health meeting sponsored by the non-profit organization Medical Library Association's Research Section Programming held in Boston in May 2013. Topics include cultural issues in scholarship such as plagiarism and copyright, and scholarly publication practices followed by librarian researchers, and librarians as a part of funded research projects.

Academic medical centers need to make sensitive data from electronic health records, payer claims, genomic pipelines, and other sources available for analytical and educational purposes while ensuring privacy and security. Although many studies have described warehouses for collecting biomedical data, few studies have described secure computing environments for analysis of sensitive data. This case report describes the Weill Cornell Medicine Data Core with respect to user access, data controls, hardware, software, audit, and financial considerations. In the 2.5 years since launch, the Data Core has supported more than 200 faculty, staff, and students across nearly 60 research and education projects. Other institutions may benefit from adopting elements of the approach, including tools available on Github, for balancing access with privacy and security.
