TAX1BP1 is a selective macroautophagy/autophagy receptor that inhibits NFKB and RIGI-like receptor (RLR) signaling to prevent excessive inflammation and maintain homeostasis. Selective autophagy receptors such as SQSTM1/p62 and OPTN are phosphorylated by the kinase TBK1 to stimulate their selective autophagy function. However, it is unknown if TAX1BP1 is regulated by TBK1 or other kinases under basal conditions or during RNA virus infection. Here, we found that TBK1 and IKBKE/IKKi function redundantly to phosphorylate TAX1BP1 and regulate its autophagic turnover through canonical macroautophagy. TAX1BP1 phosphorylation promotes its localization to lysosomes, resulting in its degradation. Additionally, we found that during vesicular stomatitis virus infection, TAX1BP1 is targeted to lysosomes in an ATG8-family protein-independent manner. Furthermore, TAX1BP1 plays a critical role in the clearance of MAVS aggregates, and phosphorylation of TAX1BP1 controls its MAVS aggrephagy function. In the interest of learning how to effectively use the technological literacy standards and of adhering to education regulation, this article focuses on efforts to improve the professional teaching practices of Technology and Engineering Education (TEE) teachers by using the Gareis and Grant (2015) process with respect to "Standards for Technological Literacy" ("STL"). This article follows from a session that co-author Gareis provided for Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers in a mid-sized urban school division in which lead author White served as director. The authors review terminology required to develop better assessments and to improve the test-item writing process. They briefly describe the components of Gareis and Grant's (2015) process. The authors demonstrate the use of this process by applying it to an "STL" standard and an accompanying assessment.

The recipe for success of Strive Preparatory Charter School (formerly West Denver Preparatory Charter School) is not a secret. This summer program, turned four-campus, middle level phenomenon, is proving to satisfy the appetite of parents hungry for a change in their children's educational opportunities. The intent of this article is to share a set of simple, effective, and replicable practices used to defy the traditionally low odds of success for often-underserved student populations. Strive Prep teachers and administrators are successfully motivating, educating, and preparing students for present and future challenges through school culture building and implementation of specific structures for both people and time. In addition, practices that prevent discipline problems, as well as interventions when prevention is not enough, are integral to Strive Prep's effectiveness.

A food residuals project was conducted by the Sarasota County to analyze the possibility of source separation in Southwest Florida. The diversion and collection division of the project focused on companies generating large amounts of food residuals.
