The article focuses on a study concerning the national public guardianship in the U.S. conducted in year 2007. It notes the importance of a public guardian to individuals who are incapable of making decisions as well as its characteristic and qualifications. The study concluded that programs for public guardianship should be exercised with adequate funding and examination for public guardians should be implemented to determine if their role is suitable for individuals with mental illness.
