Protein conformational changes play crucial roles in their biological functions. In recent years, the Markov State Model (MSM) constructed from extensive Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations has emerged as a powerful tool for modeling complex protein conformational changes. In MSMs, dynamics are modeled as a sequence of Markovian transitions among metastable conformational states at discrete time intervals (called lag time). A major challenge for MSMs is that the lag time must be long enough to allow transitions among states to become memoryless (or Markovian). However, this lag time is constrained by the length of individual MD simulations available to track these transitions. To address this challenge, we have recently developed Generalized Master Equation (GME)-based approaches, encoding non-Markovian dynamics using a time-dependent memory kernel. In this Tutorial, we introduce the theory behind two recently developed GME-based non-Markovian dynamic models: the quasi-Markov State Model (qMSM) and the Integrative Generalized Master Equation (IGME). We subsequently outline the procedures for constructing these models and provide a step-by-step tutorial on applying qMSM and IGME to study two peptide systems: alanine dipeptide and villin headpiece. Hydroxychloroquine sulfate is a common drug for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. However, the disadvantage of this drug is that it needs to be taken continuously for 3–6 months to be effective and compliance of patients is poor. In this work, four new salt forms of hydroxychloroquine are successfully prepared whose crystal structures and properties are confirmed by a series of solid‐state characterization methods, including infrared spectroscopy, single crystal X‐ray diffraction, powder X‐ray diffraction, thermal analysis, and dynamic vapor sorption analysis. The hygroscopicity, stability, equilibrium solubility, and intrinsic dissolution rate of the four new salts are also tested. The moisture absorption, solubility, and intrinsic dissolution rate of newly prepared salts are significantly reduced, and the dissolution rates of 1‐hydroxy‐2‐naphthoate and 1,5‐naphthalenedisulfonate salts are only 1/158 and 1/335 of that of the therapeutically used sulfates, respectively. It is expected that they are potentially useful to be developed into a sustained‐release formulation, which can greatly improve the dosing compliance for rheumatoid arthritis treatment. An air gap Fabry–Perot fiber interferometric magnetic field sensor based on magnetostrictive effect is proposed. The sensor is composed of single mode fiber (SMF), silica capillary and magnetostrictive material, forming the Fabry–Perot cavity of "single mode fiber-air gap-single mode fiber". With the change of external magnetic field, the magnetic volume of magnetostrictive material changes, the length of gas chamber changes, resulting in the change of optical path difference. Therefore, changes in the magnetic field can be obtained by monitoring the wavelength of the reflection spectrum. Within the magnetic field range of 3.68mT-5.72mT, the magnetic field sensitivity and linearity of the sensor are 0.299 nm/mT and 0.99767, respectively. In addition, temperature changes can also affect the sensor. At 51–56 °C, its temperature sensitivity is 0.163 nm/°C, and its linearity is 0.99831. The temperature cross sensitivity coefficient of the sensor is 0.545mT/℃. This simple, low-cost, and high-performance sensor is a promising candidate for magnetic field monitoring. Introduction: To evaluate the intraocular differences in optical coherence tomography (OCT)-based macular curvature index (MCI) among children with anisomyopia and to investigate the relationship between MCI and the macular microvasculature. Methods: Fifty-two schoolchildren with anisometropia > 2.00 D were enrolled and underwent comprehensive examinations including cycloplegic refraction, axial length (AL), and swept source OCT/OCT angiography. OCT-based MCIs were determined from horizontal and vertical B-scans by a customized curve fitting model in MATLAB R2022 at 1-mm-, 3-mm-, and 6-mm-diameter circles at fovea. Characteristics and topographic variation of MCI was analyzed, and the relationships with microvascularity and its associated factors were investigated. Results: MCI achieved high reliability and repeatability. There were overall larger MCIs in the more myopic eyes than the less myopic eyes in 1-mm-, 3-mm-, and 6-mm-diameter circles at fovea (all p < 0.001). For the topographic variation, horizontal MCI was significantly greater than vertical MCI (all p < 0.001), and was the largest in 6-mm circle, followed by 3-mm and 1-mm circles. Stronger correlation of horizontal MCI with myopic severity than vertical MCI was found. Partial Pearson's correlation found MCI was negatively associated with deep capillary plexus (DCP) vessel density (p = 0.016). Eyes with a higher MCI in a 6-mm circle were more likely to have longer AL (p < 0.001), lower DCP vessel density (p = 0.037), and thinner choroidal thickness (ChT) (p = 0.045). Conclusion: Larger MCI was found in the more myopic eyes of children with anisomyopia and was significantly associated with smaller DCP density, suggesting that MCI was an important indicator of myopia-related retinal microvascularity change, and it could be a valuable metric for myopia assessment in children. Perfluorocarbon-encapsulated silica nanoparticles possess attractive features such as biological inertness and favorable colloidal properties for bioimaging with fluorine magnetic resonance imaging (19F MRI). Herein, a series of elliptic shaped silica nanoparticles with perfluorocarbon liquid perfluoro-15-crown-5 ether as core (PFCE@SiO2) were synthesized using fluorinated surfactants N-(perfluorononylmethyl)-N,N,N-trimethylammonium chloride (C10-TAC) and N-(perfluoroheptylmethyl)-N,N,N-trimethylammonium chloride (C8-TAC). The nanoparticles are characterized to obtain elliptic core-shell structures. PFCE@ SiO2 showed strong 19F NMR signals of the encapsulated PFCE, indicating the potential as a highly sensitive 19F MRI probe. Mechanical stretchability is a vital criterion for the wearable application of organic solar cells (OSCs), while the excessive rigidity of fused‐ring small molecular acceptors make the photovoltaic film hard to meet the stretchable requirements. Herein, an effective strategy is developed to construct an intrinsically stretchable active layer by inserting copolymer PM6‐b‐PYSe as an interlayer between layer‐by‐layer processed D18 and BTP‐eC9. The copolymer interlayer shunts the penetration of BTP‐eC9 and facilitates an appropriate phase separation, favoring the enhanced crack onset strain of 17.69% compared to the D18/BTP‐eC9 film (9.67%). Combining with the optimal energy levels, prolonged carrier lifetime, and suppressed bimolecular recombination aroused by the incorporation of PM6‐b‐PYSe, the D18/PM6‐b‐PYSe/BTP‐eC9‐based OSC yields an encouraging efficiency of 17.97%. In particular, the device demonstrates excellent mechanical property, which can retain over 80% after 4000 bending cycles. Multichannel signals contain an abundance of fault characteristic information on equipment and show greater potential for weak fault characteristics extraction and early fault detection. However, how to effectively utilize the advantages of multichannel signals with their information richness while eliminating interference components caused by strong background noise and information redundancy to achieve accurate extraction of fault characteristics is still challenging for mechanical fault diagnosis based on multichannel signals. To address this issue, an effective weak fault detection framework for multichannel signals is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the advantages of a tensor on characterizing fault information were displayed, and the low-rank property of multichannel fault signals in a tensor domain is revealed through tensor singular value decomposition. Secondly, to tackle weak fault characteristics extraction from multichannel signals under strong background noise, an adaptive threshold function is introduced, and an adaptive low-rank tensor estimation model is constructed. Thirdly, to further improve the accurate estimation of weak fault characteristics from multichannel signals, a new sparsity metric-oriented parameter optimization strategy is provided for the adaptive low-rank tensor estimation model. Finally, an effective multichannel weak fault detection framework is formed for rolling bearings. Multichannel data from the repeatable simulation, the publicly available XJTU-SY whole lifetime datasets and an accelerated fatigue test of rolling bearings are used to validate the effectiveness and practicality of the proposed method. Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disease characterized by brain network dysfunction. Few studies have investigated whether the functional connections between executive control networks (ECN) and other brain regions can predict the therapeutic effect of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS). Objective: The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the functional connectivity (FC) within ECN networks and the efficacy of rTMS. Methods: We recruited AD patients for rTMS treatment. We established an ECN using baseline period fMRI data and conducted an analysis of the ECN's FC throughout the brain. Concurrently, the support vector regression (SVR) method was employed to project post-rTMS cognitive scores, utilizing the connectional attributes of the ECN as predictive markers. Results: The average age of the patients was 66.86±8.44 years, with 8 males and 13 females. Significant improvement on most cognitive measures. We use ECN connectivity and brain region functions in baseline patients as features for SVR model training and fitting. The SVR model could demonstrate significant predictability for changes in Montreal Cognitive Assessment scores among AD patients after rTMS treatment. The brain regions that contributed most to the prediction of the model (the top 10% of weights) were located in the medial temporal lobe, middle temporal gyrus, frontal lobe, parietal lobe and occipital lobe. Conclusions: The stronger the antagonism between ECN and parieto-occipital lobe function, the better the prediction of cognitive improvement; the stronger the synergy between ECN and fronto-temporal lobe function, the better the prediction of cognitive improvement. Heterojunctions of perovskite quantum dots (QDs) and organic semiconductors (OSCs) can synergistically leverage the unique optoelectronic properties of different functional components to fabricate advanced optoelectronic devices, such as neuromorphic photosensors, by low‐cost solution processes. However, a long‐lasting challenge remains in micropatterning high‐density perovskite QDs/polymer OSCs heterojunction array with high yield and reliability due to the fragility of functional layers to organic solvents. High‐density and micro‐structure patterned organic neuromorphic photosensor arrays based on OSCs and QDs are thus rarely reported. Here, an effective cross‐linking microlithography strategy is reported to fabricate perovskite QDs/OSCs microstructure arrays. The fabricated CsPbBr3 QDs/(poly(2,5‐(2‐octyldodecyl)−3,6‐diketopyrrolopyrrole‐alt‐5,5‐(2,5‐di(thien‐2‐yl) thieno [3,2‐b] thiophene) (DPPDTT) planer heterojunctions phototransistor array presents minor device‐to‐device variation, high density (6500 devices cm−2), and high yield (almost 100%). The device array exhibits impressive merits as a neuromorphic photosensor, including a photosensitivity of 3.02 × 107, a responsivity up to 1.92 × 104 A W−1, a detectivity exceeding 1014 Jones, and a persistent photoconductivity. Moreover, an energy consumption as low as 27.9 aJ is achieved at an operating voltage of −0.0001 V. Quantum private comparison (QPC) enables two users to securely conduct private comparisons in a network characterized by mutual distrust while guaranteeing the confidentiality of their private inputs. Most previous QPC protocols were primarily used to determine the equality of private information between two users, which constrained their scalability. In this paper, we propose a QPC protocol that leverages the entanglement correlation between particles in a four-particle cluster state. This protocol can compare the information of two groups of users within one protocol execution, with each group consisting of two users. A semi-honest third party (TP), who will not deviate from the protocol execution or conspire with any participant, is involved in assisting users to achieve private comparisons. Users encode their inputs into specific angles of rotational operations performed on the received quantum sequence, which is then sent back to TP. Security analysis shows that both external attacks and insider threats are ineffective at stealing private data. Finally, we compare our protocol with some previously proposed QPC protocols. Background: Cerebral specialization and interhemispheric cooperation are two vital features of the human brain. Their dysfunction may be associated with disease progression in patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD), which is featured as progressive cognitive degeneration and asymmetric neuropathology. Objective: This study aimed to examine and define two inherent properties of hemispheric function in patients with AD by utilizing resting‐state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs‐fMRI). Methods: Sixty‐four clinically diagnosed AD patients and 52 age‐ and sex‐matched cognitively normal subjects were recruited and underwent MRI and clinical evaluation. We calculated and compared brain specialization (autonomy index, AI) and interhemispheric cooperation (connectivity between functionally homotopic voxels, CFH). Results: In comparison to healthy controls, patients with AD exhibited enhanced AI in the left middle occipital gyrus. This increase in specialization can be attributed to reduced functional connectivity in the contralateral region, such as the right temporal lobe. The CFH of the bilateral precuneus and prefrontal areas was significantly decreased in AD patients compared to controls. Imaging‐cognitive correlation analysis indicated that the CFH of the right prefrontal cortex was marginally positively related to the Montreal Cognitive Assessment score in patients and the Auditory Verbal Learning Test score. Moreover, taking abnormal AI and CFH values as features, support vector machine‐based classification achieved good accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, and area under the curve by leave‐one‐out cross‐validation. Conclusion: This study suggests that individuals with AD have abnormal cerebral specialization and interhemispheric cooperation. Background: Skin barrier function is significantly impacted by skin moisture. Most non‐invasive evaluation techniques to measure skin surface hydration relying on its electrical properties, which are limited in scope and have unstable operations. Applying image processing for skin hydration assessment is uncommon, with an emphasis on skin‐capacitive pictures and near‐infrared images in general, which demand a certain spectrum. As a result, there is an increasing need for wide‐area skin hydration evaluation and mapping. Objective: The study aims to propose a quantitative evaluation algorithm for skin surface hydration from visible‐light images. Materials and methods: Three devices were applied to measure skin hydration: skin image capture device and two recognized commercial skin devices. A digital image processing system creates a new index, called GVR, to symbolize skin surface moisture. The CLAHE algorithm was applied to enhance the contrast of skin image, and after calculating it with the monochrome image, the skin reflectance image was segmented. The GVR was estimated using the values of the individual sites and the entire skin. The correlation coefficient between the three methods was examined using statistical analysis to assess the performance of GVR. Results: Skin hydration estimated from visible‐light images is influenced by the entire facial structure in addition to specific areas. The electrical and visible image evaluations showed a strong association with a significant difference. The recent high incidence of Mycoplasma pneumoniae (Mp) infections has raised widespread public health concerns. Therefore, rapid and accurate diagnosis of respiratory pathogenic microbial infections is of paramount importance to provide clinicians with accurate diagnostic insights and guide clinical medication. In response to this urgent need, we developed a one-tube Palm CRISPR/Cas12a Diagnostic (PaCD) method. This method facilitates the rapid detection of Mp infections, as well as three other prevalent respiratory pathogens, Chlamydia pneumoniae (Cp), Haemophilus influenzae (Hi), and Streptococcus pneumoniae (SP). In addition, 3D printing was employed to fabricate a compact detection device that includes a temperature control module set at 39°C and a blue light irradiation module, significantly enhancing the feasibility of point-of-care testing. The PaCD diagnostic process takes only 30 min with a detection limit of 50 copies/test, making it suitable for analysis of sputum and throat swab samples. PaCD demonstrated 100% concordance (72/72) with next-generation sequencing and exhibited high concordance with computed tomography test results. These findings demonstrate the clinical feasibility of PaCD for the rapid and accurate diagnosis of infections caused by four prevalent respiratory pathogens, offering theoretical insights into the versatile application of point-of-care tests for the detection of other respiratory pathogens in various clinical scenarios. In this work, with the aim of developing nanocrystalline powder cores (NPCs) with high saturation magnetization (Ms) and excellent magnetic performances, the structure, crystallization behavior and soft magnetic properties of gas-atomized Fe74.75Si8B10P5-xCxNb1.5Cu0.75 (x = 0–3 at.%) powders were investigated. The as-atomized x = 0–2 powders with mean size of 21 μm possess an amorphous structure and the rise of C content from 0 to 2 at.% increases their Ms from 142.2 to 150.9 emu/g. The effects of annealing on magnetic performances of Fe74.75Si8B10P3C2Nb1.5Cu0.75 powders and NPCs were further studied. The powders in the NPCs annealed at 783 K for 60 min possess excellent soft magnetic properties with a high Ms of 158.0 emu/g and low coercivity of 1.5 Oe. The NPCs show excellent magnetic properties including a low core loss of 107 mW/cm3 (50 mT, 100 kHz), high effect permeability (at 100 kHz) of 51.5 and good DC-bias characteristics of 52% at an applied field of 100 Oe. Early and accurate diagnosis of glaucoma is crucial to prevent the progressive deterioration that leads to irreversible vision loss. It is imperative to develop an effective screening tool for glaucoma. Ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF) is a tear biomarker implicated in glaucoma pathogenesis. Lateral flow assay (LFA) provides an ideal platform for detection of glaucoma in tear fluid. A quantum dot‐based fluorescence LFA, integrated with a 3D printed readout box, is developed for fast (30 min), sensitive, and quantitative CNTF detection in tears. A standard curve is firstly generated for the quantitative detection of CNTF. The limit of detection (LOD) of the obtained LFA strip at 6.45 pg·mL−1 is comparable to that of the enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) at 6.42 pg·mL−1. This enables the identification of low CNTF levels (25.7 ± 14.9 pg·mL−1) reported in tear fluid from glaucoma patients. This LFA is found to be highly selective for CNTF and maintained consistent results in different pH condition. The strip remaines stablewhen stored in the darkat room temperature. A smartphone app is developed to simplify analysis and enable prompt and easily obtainable results. This method shows great potential to be a powerful tool for point‐of‐care glaucoma screening. Accurate traffic flow prediction plays a crucial role in the development of intelligent traffic management. Despite numerous investigations into spatio-temporal methods, achieving high accuracy in traffic flow prediction remains challenging. This challenge arises from the complex dynamic spatio-temporal correlations within the traffic road network and the limitations imposed by the selection of hyperparameters based on experiments and manual experience, which can affect the performance of the network architecture. This paper introduces a novel transformer-based adaptive graph convolutional recurrent network. The proposed network automatically infers the interdependencies among different traffic sequences and incorporates the capability to capture global spatio-temporal correlations. This enables the dynamic capture of long-range temporal correlations. Furthermore, the whale optimization algorithm is employed to efficiently design an optimal network structure that aligns with the requirements of the traffic domain and maximizes the utilization of limited computational resources. This design approach significantly enhances the model's performance and improves the accuracy of traffic flow prediction. The experimental results on four real datasets demonstrate the efficacy of our approach. In PEMS03, it improves MAE by 2.6% and RMSE by 1.4%. In PEMS04, improvements are 1.6% in MAE and 1.4% in RMSE, with a similar MAPE score to the best baseline. For PEMS07, our approach shows a 4.1% improvement in MAE and 2.2% in RMSE. On PEMS08, it surpasses the current best baseline with a 3.4% improvement in MAE and 1.6% in RMSE. The presence of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) in vascular land plant roots is one of the most ancient of symbioses supporting nitrogen and phosphorus exchange for photosynthetically derived carbon. Here we provide a multi-scale modeling approach to predict AMF colonization of a worldwide crop from a Recombinant Inbred Line (RIL) population derived from Sorghum bicolor and S. propinquum. The high-throughput phenotyping methods of fungal structures here rely on a Mask Region-based Convolutional Neural Network (Mask R-CNN) in computer vision for pixel-wise fungal structure segmentations and mixed linear models to explore the relations of AMF colonization, root niche, and fungal structure allocation. Models proposed capture over 95% of the variation in AMF colonization as a function of root niche and relative abundance of fungal structures in each plant. Arbuscule allocation is a significant predictor of AMF colonization among sibling plants. Arbuscules and extraradical hyphae implicated in nutrient exchange predict highest AMF colonization in the top root section. Our work demonstrates that deep learning can be used by the community for the high-throughput phenotyping of AMF in plant roots. Mixed linear modeling provides a framework for testing hypotheses about AMF colonization phenotypes as a function of root niche and fungal structure allocations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Quantum private comparison (QPC) is a fundamental cryptographic protocol that allows two parties to compare the equality of their private inputs without revealing any information about those inputs to each other. In recent years, QPC protocols utilizing various quantum resources have been proposed. However, these QPC protocols have lower utilization of quantum resources and qubit efficiency. To address this issue, we propose an efficient QPC protocol based on GHZ states, which leverages the unique properties of GHZ states and rotation operations to achieve secure and efficient private comparison. The secret information is encoded in the rotation angles of rotation operations performed on the received quantum sequence transmitted along the circular mode. This results in the multiplexing of quantum resources and enhances the utilization of quantum resources. Our protocol does not require quantum key distribution (QKD) for sharing a secret key to ensure the security of the inputs, resulting in no consumption of quantum resources for key sharing. One GHZ state can be compared to three bits of classical information in each comparison, leading to qubit efficiency reaching 100%. Compared with the existing QPC protocol, our protocol does not require quantum resources for sharing a secret key. Poly(vinyl chloride) undergoes dechlorination in the presence of triethylsilane (Et3SiH) and a catalytic amount of [Cp2Zr(NPh2)][CH3B(C6F5)3] (1 b) at 40–80 °C, with up to 91 % efficiency. Stoichiometric reactivity studies conducted on cyclohexyl chloride as a model suggest that 1 b dechlorinates PVC by initial chloride abstraction, followed by hydride transfer to the cationic PVC chain from Et3SiH. Consumer items such as pipe fitting, vinyl disc or electric cable insulation undergo either dechlorination or hydrosilylation of the carbonyl‐containing copolymer (polyvinyl acetate) or plasticizer (phthalate). Purpose: This study aims to investigate the relationship between sleep factors (sleep duration time [SDT] and obstructive sleep apnea [OSA]) and human papillomavirus (HPV)/high-risk HPV(HR-HPV) infection, utilizing data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional analysis using NHANES data, focusing on SDT and OSA's association with HPV/HR-HPV infection. The primary statistical methods included weighted multivariate linear regression and logistic regression to assess the association between SDT, OSA, and HPV/HR-HPV infection. The study employed restricted cubic splines (RCS) for evaluating potential non-linear relationships between SDT and HPV/HR-HPV infection. Subgroup analyses were conducted. Interaction terms were used to examine the heterogeneity in associations across different subgroups. Results: The study identified a U-shaped relationship between SDT and HPV infection. Specifically, 7 hours of sleep was associated with the lowest risk of HPV infection. In comparison, SDT less than 7 hours resulted in a 26.3% higher risk of HPV infection (Odds Ratio [OR] = 1.26, 95% Confidence Interval [CI]: 1.029, 1.549), and more than 9 hours of sleep showed a 57.4% increased risk (OR = 1.574, 95% CI: 1.116, 2.220). The relationship between SDT and HR-HPV infection was significant in the first two models, but not in the fully adjusted model. No significant interaction was found between sleep duration and other covariates. There was no association between OSA and HPV/HR-HPV infection. Conclusion: The study underscores the complex relationship between sleep duration and HPV infection risk, suggesting both very short and very long sleep durations may increase HPV infection likelihood. The findings highlight the need for further research to explore the biological mechanisms underpinning this association and to consider broader population groups and more precise sleep assessment methods in future studies. Obesity and metabolic diseases, such as insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, and cardiovascular ailments, represent formidable global health challenges, bearing considerable implications for both morbidity and mortality rates. It has become increasingly evident that chronic, low‐grade inflammation plays a pivotal role in the genesis and advancement of these conditions. The involvement of C‐C chemokine ligand 2 (CCL2) and its corresponding receptor, C‐C chemokine receptor 2 (CCR2), has been extensively documented in numerous inflammatory maladies. Recent evidence indicates that the CCL2/CCR2 pathway extends beyond immune cell recruitment and inflammation, exerting a notable influence on the genesis and progression of metabolic syndrome. Promoting advanced functional films that integrate protective behaviors for synergetic radar, infrared (IR), and visible light is confronted with extreme challenges. The effective integration of shielding capacity and IR camouflage into single‐component carbon films remains an enormous challenge because of limited conductivity and high IR absorption. In this work, carbon nanotube (CNT) films with excellent electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding, switchable IR camouflage, and energy conversion are obtained via a (FCCVD) method and subsequent defect engineering strategies induced by temperature (Strategy I) and N/S co‐doping (Strategy II). Wherein the effect on the electronic configuration as well as multi‐spectra performance is deeply explored. Ascribing to the synergistic effects of strategies, defective CNT films present superior EMI shielding effectiveness (SE) with a high absorption effectiveness ratio of 86.9%, and a large span of emissivity (0.479), which provides the necessary condition for various application scenarios. Under the applied electric field excitation, the IR radiation of CNT films can adapt to rapidly changing surroundings, such as low‐high/high‐low temperatures. Besides, the desirable energy conversion performance and de‐icing can be achieved. We investigate existence, uniqueness and approximation of solutions to stochastic delay differential equations (SDDEs) under Carathéodory-type drift coefficients. Moreover, we also assume that both drift f = f (t , x , z) and diffusion g = g (t , x , z) coefficient are Lipschitz continuous with respect to the space variable x , but only Hölder continuous with respect to the delay variable z. We provide a construction of randomized Euler scheme for approximation of solutions of Carathéodory SDDEs, and investigate its upper error bound. Light microscopy methods have continued to advance allowing for unprecedented analysis of various cell types in tissues including the brain. Although the functional state of some cell types such as microglia can be determined by morphometric analysis, techniques to perform robust, quick, and accurate measurements have not kept pace with the amount of imaging data that can now be generated. Most of these image segmentation tools are further burdened by an inability to assess structures in three-dimensions. Despite the rise of machine learning techniques, the nature of some biological structures prevents the training of several current day implementations. Here we present PrestoCell, a novel use of persistence-based clustering to segment cells in light microscopy images, as a customized Python-based tool that leverages the free multidimensional image viewer Napari. In evaluating and comparing PrestoCell to several existing tools, including 3DMorph, Omipose, and Imaris, we demonstrate that PrestoCell produces image segmentations that rival these solutions. In particular, our use of cell nuclei information resulted in the ability to correctly segment individual cells that were interacting with one another to increase accuracy. These benefits are in addition to the simplified graphically based user refinement of cell masks that does not require expensive commercial software licenses. We further demonstrate that PrestoCell can complete image segmentation in large samples from light sheet microscopy, allowing quantitative analysis of these large datasets. As an open-source program that leverages freely available visualization software, with minimum computer requirements, we believe that PrestoCell can significantly increase the ability of users without data or computer science expertise to perform complex image analysis. Super 304H has been a crucial material for ultra-supercritical boilers. However, the relationship between microstructure evolution, strengthening mechanism, and embrittling behavior during long-term aging was lacking investigation. This investigation aimed to reveal the strengthening and embrittling mechanism from precipitates in Super 304H. The results showed that the hardness increment came from the grain boundary's M23C6 (GB's M23C6) and intragranular nano Cu-rich particles. After being aged for 5000 h, the GB's M23C6 and nano Cu-rich particles provided a hardness increment of approximately 10 HV and 30 HV, respectively. The impact toughness gradually decreased from 213 J/cm2 to 161 J/cm2 with the extending aging time. For the aged Super 304H, the GB's M23C6 provided a higher cracking source. In addition, the nano Cu-rich particle restricted the twin-induced plastic deformation of austenitic grain and depressed the absorbed energy from austenitic grain deformation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Controlling the water permeation through carbon nanotubes (CNTs) with more complex structures holds great promise for many practical applications, such as nanometer water gates, energy collection, and biosensors. In this work, upon using extensive molecular dynamics simulations, we find a fascinating phenomenon that terahertz electric fields can more significantly stimulate the transport of a single-file water chain across two disjoint CNTs with a nanogap, where the water flow is several times to an order greater than that of static electric fields. This is because the static electric field promotes the formation of a water bridge in the nanogap region, which connects the two single-file water chains. Thus, the water molecules have to move collectively through the two CNTs, resulting in a relatively low water flow. However, under the terahertz electric field, the single-file water chain can be interrupted because of the resonant effect, and the water phase becomes vapor-like. In this case, some water molecules are partially or not hydrogen bonded and will have more freedom to move quickly through the disjoint CNTs. Consequently, the terahertz electric field is a more efficient external stimulus to promote the water permeation across the nanogap between two disjoint CNTs, which should have great implications for the design of controllable nanofluidic devices. Objective: Systematic summary of the epidemiology of patellar dislocation is rare. This study aims to investigate sex‐, age‐, type‐, injury causing events‐, incidence of bone bruise and time from last injury (TFLI)‐specific characteristics, and detail the epidemiological characteristics of patellar dislocation. Method: In this descriptive epidemiological study, a total of 743 patients who have a history of lateral patellar dislocation with either first‐time patellar dislocation (FPD) or recurrent patellar dislocation (RPD) between August 2017 and June 2022 at our institution met the inclusion criteria and were selected in this study. Patient characteristics including the type, gender, age, events leading to patellar dislocation, incidence of patellar bone bruise, and the time from last injury (TFLI) of patellar dislocation were retrospectively obtained and described. Magnetic resonance imaging scans (MRI) of the knee were reviewed for insuring bone bruise. Results: Among the 743 patients with patellar dislocation who required surgical reconstruction of the medial retinaculum, 418 (56.2%) had RPD and 325 (43.8%) had FPD. There were more females (65.0%) than males (35.0%) in patellar dislocation patients. Among the female patients, those aged <18 years had higher incidence (31.4%) of patellar dislocation. Among the male patients, those aged <18 and 19–28 years had higher incidence (16.8%) of patellar dislocation. Of all age groups, the prevalence rate of patellar dislocation was high in juvenile population and females, but with no statistical significance. The most common patellar dislocation‐causing event was sport accidents (40.1%), followed by life accidents (23.2%). The incidence of left‐knee patellar dislocation was slightly higher than that of right‐knee patellar dislocation. The incidence of patellar bone bruise of RPD (63.2%) was significantly lower (p < 0.05) than that of FPD (82.2%). Patellar dislocation patients with bone bruise had shorter time from last injury (TFLI) than those without patellar bone bruise (p < 0.05). Conclusions: The incidence of bone bruise of RPD was lower than that of FPD, and patients with patellar bone bruise may have a shorter time from last injury than those without bone bruise. Deep learning (DL) models have achieved state-of-the-art medical diagnosis classification accuracy. Current models are limited by discrete diagnosis labels, but could yield more information with diagnosis in a continuous scale. We developed a novel continuous severity scaling system for macular telangiectasia (MacTel) type 2 by combining a DL classification model with uniform manifold approximation and projection (UMAP). We used a DL network to learn a feature representation of MacTel severity from discrete severity labels and applied UMAP to embed this feature representation into 2 dimensions, thereby creating a continuous MacTel severity scale. A total of 2003 OCT volumes were analyzed from 1089 MacTel Project participants. We trained a multiview DL classifier using multiple B-scans from OCT volumes to learn a previously published discrete 7-step MacTel severity scale. The classifiers' last feature layer was extracted as input for UMAP, which embedded these features into a continuous 2-dimensional manifold. The DL classifier was assessed in terms of test accuracy. Rank correlation for the continuous UMAP scale against the previously published scale was calculated. Additionally, the UMAP scale was assessed in the κ agreement against 5 clinical experts on 100 pairs of patient volumes. For each pair of patient volumes, clinical experts were asked to select the volume with more severe MacTel disease and to compare them against the UMAP scale. Classification accuracy for the DL classifier and κ agreement versus clinical experts for UMAP. The multiview DL classifier achieved top 1 accuracy of 63.3% (186/294) on held-out test OCT volumes. The UMAP metric showed a clear continuous gradation of MacTel severity with a Spearman rank correlation of 0.84 with the previously published scale. Furthermore, the continuous UMAP metric achieved κ agreements of 0.56 to 0.63 with 5 clinical experts, which was comparable with interobserver κ values. Our UMAP embedding generated a continuous MacTel severity scale, without requiring continuous training labels. This technique can be applied to other diseases and may lead to more accurate diagnosis, improved understanding of disease progression, and key imaging features for pathologic characteristics. Previous studies have given little consideration to the influence of soil unloading effect on permeation grouting. A spherical permeation diffusion model considering the influence of soil unloading effect was established based on the theory of spherical permeation grouting to study the permeability and diffusion characteristics of a power-law fluid in unloaded soil. The permeation grouting model was compared and verified with the grout diffusion experiment conducted in the unloaded soil. A parametric analysis with the proposed model was performed. The result shows that the final diffusion radius of the grout increases with the increase of soil unloading degree, grouting pressure, water–cement ratio, and initial permeability coefficient but decreases with the increase of underground water pressure. The increment value of grouting pressure is equal to the increment value of underground water pressure under the same grouting time and grout diffusion radius. The influence of soil stress history, soil initial permeability coefficient, underground water pressure, and water–cement ratio should be comprehensively considered to determine the reinforcement range of permeation grouting. The proposed permeation grouting diffusion model is suitable for sandy soil with normal loading and unloading conditions, and the results analyzed by this model can provide some theoretical guidance for the tunnel vault grouting and bored pile postgrouting process. After the repeated freezing and dissolution of fractured rock masses in cold regions, the liquid present in the pores undergoes a water–ice phase transition, resulting in frost heave forces and damage to the internal structure of the rock mass. This causes the rock masses to continuously develop new cracks, which further expand and connect, leading to rock mass failure and ultimately reducing the overall stability of the rock mass in engineering projects. In this study, uniaxial compression tests, direct shear tests, and Brazilian splitting tests were conducted on rock after freeze–thaw cycles (FTCs), and the changes in the physical and mechanical properties of the rock under freeze–thaw conditions were obtained (this study used raw rock from an engineering project and processed it into symmetrical jointed rock samples). The roughness of the shear fracture surfaces was analyzed through 3D cross-sectional scanning experiments. Using statistical damage theory, the mechanism of freeze–thaw damage was analyzed, and a constitutive model for freeze–thaw rock damage was established. Primary Sjögren’s Syndrome (pSS) falls within the category of connective tissue diseases, characterized by the presence of autoantibodies such as antinuclear antibodies (ANA). However, according to the classification criteria for pSS, some patients may exhibit a negative result for autoantibodies. Patients with a negative result for autoantibodies may lack typical features of connective tissue diseases, and the immunological state as well as the extent of organ involvement and damage may differ from those with positive autoantibodies. This study aims to compare the clinical phenotypes of patients with positive and negative autoantibodies, providing insights for disease classification and treatment selection for clinicians. Patients with pSS were grouped based on the presence and titers of their autoantibodies. Subsequently, differences in organ damage and laboratory indicators were compared between these groups, aiming to analyze the value of autoantibody titers in assessing the condition of pSS. (1) Patients with positive ANA exhibited elevated levels of inflammatory indicators, including ESR, IgG levels, lip gland biopsy pathology grade, and overall organ involvement, in comparison with patients with negative ANA (P < 0.05). Furthermore, ANA-positivity correlated with a higher occurrence of multi-organ damage, particularly affecting the skin, mucous membranes, and the hematological system (P < 0.05). (2) As ANA titers increased, patients demonstrated elevated levels of IgG and an escalation in organ involvement (P < 0.05). (3) Patients in the positive autoantibody group (positive for antinuclear antibodies, anti-SSA, or anti-SSB antibodies) had higher IgG levels compared to the negative group (P < 0.05). (4) Patients with positive anti-SSA and anti-SSB antibodies exhibited higher levels of inflammatory indicators and IgG compared to other patients (P < 0.05); however, no significant differences were observed in terms of organ involvement and organ damage. Patients with positive ANA in pSS typically exhibit higher levels of inflammation and an increased likelihood of experiencing multi-organ damage. Furthermore, as the ANA titers increase, both inflammation levels and the risk of multi-organ damage also escalate. Additionally, the presence of anti-SSA and anti-SSB antibodies may contribute to an elevated risk of increased inflammation levels, but does not increase the risk of organ damage. Polyploid breeding techniques aid in the cultivation of new forestry cultivars, thus expanding the suite of strategies for the improvement of arboreal traits and innovation within the field of forestry. Compared to diploid Robinia pseudoacacia L. (black locust) 'D26-5①' (2×), its dwarfed homologous tetraploid 'D26-5②' (4×) variety has better application prospects in garden vegetation guardrails and urban landscape. However, the molecular mechanism of the generation and growth of this dwarf variety is still unclear. Here, plant growth and development as well as histological differences between the diploid and its autotetraploid were investigated. Levels of endogenous hormones at three different developmental stages (20, 40, and 70 days) of 2× and homologous 4× tissue culture plantlets were assessed, and it was found that the brassinosteroid (BR) contents of the former were significantly higher than the latter. Transcriptome sequencing data analysis of 2× and homologous 4× showed that differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were significantly enriched in plant hormone synthesis and signal transduction, sugar and starch metabolism, and the plant circadian rhythm pathway, which are closely related to plant growth and development. Therefore, these biological pathways may be important regulatory pathways leading to dwarfism and slow growth in tetraploids. Additionally, utilizing weighted gene coexpression network analysis (WGCNA), we identified three crucial differentially expressed genes (DEGs)—PRR5, CYP450, and SPA1—that potentially underlie the observed ploidy variation. This study provides a new reference for the molecular mechanism of dwarfism in dwarfed autotetraploid black locusts. Collectively, our results of metabolite analysis and comparative transcriptomics confirm that plant hormone signaling and the circadian rhythm pathway result in dwarfism in black locusts. The theoretical data-driven method and experimental diatomic doping strategy have been integrated skillfully to develop high-performance microwave performance in the B/N co-doped carbon/Fe 3 C magnetoelectric system, realizing the customized electromagnetic parameters and the excellent microwave absorption bandwidth of 7.2 GHz. [Display omitted] The electromagnetic (EM) parameters are the key factors to decode the complex microwave absorption properties, including matching thickness, absorption bandwidth and intensity. Numerous works hence have been focused on optimizing EM parameters to reinforce the comprehensive absorption performance, while most of the adopted experimental means still remain in sporadic and random attempts. In this work, the data-driven approach is first employed to forecast that a fierce frequency-dispersion of permittivity is necessary for the broad absorption, and the appropriate magnetic component can mitigate this elusive trend of required permittivity. Oriented by the simulated results, the B/N diatomic doped C/Fe 3 C magnetoelectric composites are successfully constructed, aiming at the precise regulation of electronic properties to achieve these specially customized EM parameters by forming multi-polarization resonances. The results demonstrate that the introduction of N defects and B defects could enrich the types of dipole pairs (C N, C-B, C N B, vacancy, etc.) and thus activate multi-polarization behavior. The charge density differences calculated by the first-principle further demonstrate that the occupation of B for C bonded with Pyridinic-N and Pyrrolic-N contributes to intense polarization behaviors over the lower frequency range. As a result, excellent microwave absorption properties can be finally achieved with an effective absorbing bandwidth reaching 7.2 GHz at 2.1 mm, implying that the joint use of data-driven and doping engineering strategies to customize frequency dispersion characteristics provides precious guidelines for boosting microwave absorption performance. Current road extraction models from remote sensing images based on deep learning are computationally demanding and memory-intensive because of their high model complexity, making them impractical for mobile devices. This study aimed to develop a lightweight and accurate road extraction model, called Road-MobileSeg, to address the problem of automatically extracting roads from remote sensing images on mobile devices. The Road-MobileFormer was designed as the backbone structure of Road-MobileSeg. In the Road-MobileFormer, the Coordinate Attention Module was incorporated to encode both channel relationships and long-range dependencies with precise position information for the purpose of enhancing the accuracy of road extraction. Additionally, the Micro Token Pyramid Module was introduced to decrease the number of parameters and computations required by the model, rendering it more lightweight. Moreover, three model structures, namely Road-MobileSeg-Tiny, Road-MobileSeg-Small, and Road-MobileSeg-Base, which share a common foundational structure but differ in the quantity of parameters and computations, were developed. These models varied in complexity and were available for use on mobile devices with different memory capacities and computing power. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed models outperform the compared typical models in terms of accuracy, lightweight structure, and latency and achieve high accuracy and low latency on mobile devices. This indicates that the models that integrate with the Coordinate Attention Module and the Micro Token Pyramid Module surpass the limitations of current research and are suitable for road extraction from remote sensing images on mobile devices. Colloidal molecules (CMs) are precisely defined assemblies of nanoparticles (NPs) that mimic the structure of real molecules, but externally programming the precise self‐assembly of CMs is still challenging. In this work, we show that the photo‐induced self‐assembly of complementary copolymer‐capped binary NPs can be precisely controlled to form clustered ABx or linear (AB)y CMs at high yield (x is the coordination number of NP‐Bs, and y is the repeating unit number of AB clusters). Under UV light irradiation, photolabile p‐methoxyphenacyl groups of copolymers on NP‐A*s are converted to carboxyl groups (NP‐A), which react with tertiary amines of copolymers on NP‐B to trigger the directional NP bonding. The x value of ABx can be precisely controlled between 1 and 3 by varying the irradiation duration and hence the amount of carboxyl groups generated on NP‐As. Moreover, when NP‐A* and NP‐B are irradiated after mixing, the assembly process generates AB clusters or linear (AB)y structures with alternating sequence of the binary NPs. This assembly approach offers a simple yet non‐invasive way to externally regulate the formation of various CMs on demand without the need of redesigning the surface chemistry of NPs for use in drug delivery, diagnostics, optoelectronics, and plasmonic devices. Background: Acute lung injury (ALI) is a critical inflammatory response syndrome that rapidly develops into acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Currently, no effective therapeutic modalities are available for patients with ALI/ARDS. According to recent studies, inhibiting both the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines and the formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) as early as possible may be a promising therapy for ALI. Results: In this study, a ROS-responsive nano-delivery system based on oxidation-sensitive chitosan (Ox-CS) was fabricated for the simultaneous delivery of Ce NPs and RT. The in vitro experiments have shown that the Ox-CS/Ceria-Resatorvid nanoparticles (Ox-CS/CeRT NPs) were rapidly and efficiently internalised by inflammatory endothelial cells. Biological evaluations validated the significant attenuation of ROS-induced oxidative stress and cell apoptosis by Ox-CS/CeRT NPs, while maintaining mitochondrial function. Additionally, Ox-CS/CeRT NPs effectively inhibited the release of pro-inflammatory factors. After intraperitoneal (i.p.) administration, Ox-CS/CeRT NPs passively targeted the lungs of LPS-induced inflamed mice and released the drug activated by the high ROS levels in inflammatory tissues. Finally, Ox-CS/CeRT NPs significantly alleviated LPS-induced lung injury through inhibiting both oxidative stress and pro-inflammatory cytokine expression. With the widespread application of low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) technology, pulmonary nodules have aroused more attention. Significant alteration in plasma metabolite levels, mainly amino acid and lipid, have been observed in patients of PNs. However, evidence on the association between central carbon metabolism and PNs are largely unknown. The aim of this study was to investigate the underlying association of PNs and plasma central carbon metabolites. We measured the levels of 16 plasma central carbon metabolites in 1954 participants who gained LDCT screening in MALSC cohort. The inverse probability weighting (IPW) technique was used to control for bias due to self-selection for LDCT in the assessed high-risk population. The least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) penalized regression was used to deal with the problem of multicollinearity among metabolites and the combined association of central carbon metabolites with PNs was estimated by using quantile g-computation (QgC) models. A quartile increase in 3-hydroxybutyric acid, gluconic acid, succinic acid and hippuric acid was positively associated with the PNs risk, whereas a quartile increase in 2-oxadipic acid and fumaric acid was negatively associated with the risk of PNs in multiple-metabolite models. A positive but insignificant joint associations of the mixture of 16 metabolites with PNs was observed by using QgC models analyses. In the present study, 24 rabbits were firstly used to evaluate the apoptosis index and matrix degeneration after untreated adult meniscal tears. Vertical tears (0.25 cm in length) were prepared in the avascular zone of the anterior horn. Specimens were harvested at 1, 3, 6, 12 weeks postoperatively. The apoptosis index around tear sites stayed at a high level throughout the whole follow-up period. The depletion of glycosaminoglycans (GAG) and aggrecan at the tear site was observed, while the deposition of COL I and COL II was not affected, even at the last follow-up of 12 weeks after operation. The expression of SOX9 decreased significantly; no cellularity was observed at the wound interface at all timepoints. Secondly, another 20 rabbits were included to evaluate the effects of anti-apoptosis therapy on rescuing meniscal cells and enhancing meniscus repair. Longitudinal vertical tears (0.5 cm in length) were made in the meniscal avascular body. Tears were repaired by the inside-out suture technique, or repaired with sutures in addition to fibrin gel and blank silica nanoparticles, or silica nanoparticles encapsulating apoptosis inhibitors (z-vad-fmk). Samples were harvested at 12 months postoperatively. We found the locally administered z-vad-fmk agent at the wound interface significantly alleviated meniscal cell apoptosis and matrix degradation, and enhanced meniscal repair in the avascular zone at 12 months after operation. Different bone bruise patterns observed using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) after non-contact anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture and lateral patellar dislocation may indicate different knee injury mechanisms. In this study, 77 ACL ruptures and 77 patellar dislocations in knee MR images taken from patients with bone bruises at our institution between August 2020 and March 2022 were selected and analyzed. In order to determine typical bone bruising patterns following by ACL rupture and patellar dislocation, sagittal- and transverse-plane images were used to determine bone bruise locations in the directions of medial-lateral and superior-inferior with MR images. The presence, intensity, and location of the bone bruises in specific areas of the femur and tibial after ACL rupture and patellar dislocation were recorded. Relative bone bruise patterns after ACL rupture and patellar dislocation were classified. The results showed that there were four kinds of bone bruise patterns (1-, 2-, 3-, and 4- bone bruises) after ACL rupture. The most common two patterns after ACL rupture were 3- bone bruises (including the lateral femoral condyle and both the lateral-medial tibial plateau, LF + BT; both the lateral-medial femoral condyle and the lateral tibial plateau, BF + LT; and the medial femoral condyle and both the medial and lateral tibial plateau, MF + BT) followed by 4- bone bruises (both the lateral-medial femoral condyle and the tibial plateau, BF + BT), 2- bone bruises (the lateral femoral condyle and tibial plateau, LF + LT; the medial femoral condyle and the lateral tibial plateau, MF + LT; the lateral femoral condyle and the medial tibial plateau, LF + MT; the medial femoral condyle and the tibial plateau, MF + MT; both the lateral-medial tibial plateau, 0 + BT), and 1- bone bruise (only the lateral tibial plateau, 0 + LT). There was only a 1- bone bruise (the latera femoral condyle and medial patella bone bruise) for patellar dislocation, and the most common pattern of patellar dislocation was in the inferior medial patella and the lateral anterior inferior femur. The results suggested that bone bruise patterns after ACL rupture and patellar dislocation are completely different. There were four kinds of bone bruise patterns after non-contact ACL rupture, while there was only one kind of bone bruise pattern after patellar dislocation in patients, which was in the inferior medial patella and lateral anterior inferior femur. Efficient and inherently safe NH3 storage and separation are of significant importance for the chemical industry. Herein, we proposed zwitterionic COF as a porous host to disperse LiCl for highly efficient NH3 storage and separation with record adsorption capacity. The equivalently cationic and anionic groups in the channels of zwitterionic COF could act as two separated sites to facilitate the dispersion of LiCl, hence the optimal composite exhibits a high capture capacity of 44.98 mmol/g at 25 °C and 1 bar, far exceeding other existing porous materials. Notably, the adsorption capacity is completely reversible and the efficient separation of NH3 from NH3/CO2/N2 mixture is achieved through breakthrough experiments. DFT calculation combined with XPS and 7Li NMR experimental results give insight into the interaction between zwitterionic COF and LiCl. Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most aggressive and lethal primary brain tumor. Conventional treatments have not achieved breakthroughs in improving survival. Therefore, novel molecular targets and biomarkers need to be identified. As signal transduction docks on the cell membrane, tetraspanins (TSPANs) are associated with various tumors; however, research on their role in GBM remains extremely scarce. Gene expression and clinicopathological characteristic data were obtained from GEPIA, CGGA, HPA, cBioPortal, and GSCA databases to analyze the mRNA and protein expression levels, prognostic value, clinical relevance, mutation status, and targeted drug sensitivity of TSPANs in GBM. Gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA), Gene Ontology (GO), and the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analysis were used for biological process enrichment. Data from TCGA and TCIA were used to construct the tumor immune microenvironment landscape of TSPANs. Different R software algorithms were used to analyze the immune score, immune cell infiltration, and immune checkpoint correlation. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed for TSPAN4, which had the most significant predictive prognostic value, and a nomogram model was constructed to predict individual outcomes. The expression and function of TSPAN4 were verified in vitro. TSPAN3/4/6/11/12/18/23/24/25/26/27/28/29/30/31expressions were significantly upregulated in GBM, and TSPAN3/4/6/11/18/24/25/26/29/30 were strongly correlated with prognosis. The expression of multiple TSPANs significantly correlated with 1p/19q co-deletion status, IDH mutation status, recurrence, age, and tumor grade. GSEA and GO analyses revealed the potential contribution of TSPANs in cell adhesion and migration. Immune correlation analysis revealed that TSPANs are related to the formation of the GBM tumor microenvironment (TME) and may influence immunotherapy outcomes. TSPAN4 is an independent prognostic factor and TSPAN4 knockdown has been demonstrated to strongly inhibit glioma cell proliferation, invasion, and migration in vitro. We comprehensively elaborated the prognostic value and potential role of differentially expressed TSPANs in GBM, including molecules that scientists have previously overlooked. This study provides a novel and comprehensive perspective on the pathological mechanisms of GBM and the future direction of individualized tumor immunotherapy, which may be a critical link between GBM malignant progression and TME remodeling. The Saima alkaline rock-hosted niobium–tantalum deposit (hereafter referred to as the Saima Deposit) is situated in the Liaodong Peninsula, which constitutes the eastern segment of the northern margin of the North China Craton. The rock types of the Saima Deposit include phonolite, nepheline syenite, and aegirine nepheline syenite, which hosts niobium–tantalum ore bodies. In this study, the primary niobium-bearing minerals identified include loparite, betafite, and fersmite. The Saima pluton is characterized as a potassium-rich, low-sodium, and peraluminous alkaline pluton. Trace element characteristics reveal that the metallization-associated syenite is enriched in large-ion lithophile elements (LILEs) such as K and Rb but is relatively depleted in high-field strength elements (HFSEs). As indicated by the rare earth element (REE) profile, the Saima pluton exhibits a high total REE content (∑REE), dominance of light REEs (LREEs), and scarcity of heavy REEs (HREEs). The Sr-Nd-Pd isotopic data suggest that aegirine nepheline syenite and nepheline syenite share consistent isotopic signatures, indicating a common origin. The Saima alkaline pluton displays elevated ISr values ranging from 0.70712 to 0.70832 coupled with low εNd(t) values between −12.84 and −11.86 and two-stage model ages (tDM2) from 1967 to 2047 Ma. These findings indicate that the metallogenic materials for the Saima Deposit derive from both an enriched mantle source and some crustal components. The lithium (Li) isotopic fractionation observed during the genesis of the Saima pluton could be attributed to the differential diffusion rates of 6Li and 7Li under non-equilibrium fluid–rock interactions. Genetic Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease with T188K mutation (T188K gCJD) is the most frequent genetic prion disease in China. To explore the penetration of T188K mutation and the pathogenesis of T188K gCJD, we constructed 2 lines of transgenic mouse models: homozygous Tg188K+/+ mice containing T188K mutation in 2 alleles of human PRNP background and heterozygous Tg188K+/- mice containing 1 allele of T188K human PRNP and 1 allele of the wild-type mouse PRNP. Spontaneous neurological illnesses were identified in all Tg188K mice at their old ages (750–800 days old). About half of the Tg188K mice died prior to the final observation (930 days old). Extensive spongiosis, PrPSc deposit, and reactive gliosis of astrocytes and microglia are neuropathologically identified, showing time-dependent exacerbation. Proteinase K-resistant PrP was detected in the brain, muscle, and intestine tissues, and positive real-time quaking-induced conversion reactions were elicited by the brain and muscle tissues of Tg188K mice. Those data verify that the constructed Tg188K mice highly mimic the clinicopathology of human T188K gCJD, strongly indicating the pathogenicity of T188K mutated PrP. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) of ice materials, as an important indicate to assess safety of ice and snow buildings, is difficult to measure quickly using existing methods. The rebound method is widely used for the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) of the UCS of building materials. Therefore, firstly, rebound methods of ice materials were established. In this study, the Leeb hardness tester and Schmidt hammer were selected to test plain ice and fiber-reinforced ice (FRI), respectively. Then, the rebound test and uniaxial compression test were performed under different temperatures (− 20, − 15, − 10 and − 5 °C) and different fiber content (0, 1, 2 and 4%). The result of rebound showed that the rebound value of 1, 2 and 4% FRI was 1.33, 1.09 and 1.08 times, respectively, that of plain ice at – 20 °C. The rebound value of plain ice at − 20 °C was 1.32 times higher than that at − 5 °C. Secondly, the correlation between rebound value and UCS of the ice material was established. The UCS of plain ice has a linear relationship with rebound value, while FRI exhibited a power law relationship. Finally, the rebound method was applied to field NDT of ice and snow buildings in Harbin. The test results showed that the estimated UCS of ice materials was conservative due to freezing patterns, and the error between the estimated and the measured UCS of the FRI was about 10%. Sodium tanshinone IIA sulfonate (STS) has shown significant clinical therapeutic effects in cerebral ischemic stroke (CIS), but the molecular mechanisms of neuroprotection remain partially known. The purpose of this study was to explore whether STS plays a protective role in oxygen-glucose deprivation/reoxygenation (OGD/R)-induced neuronal injury by regulating microglia autophagy and inflammatory activity. Co-cultured microglia and neurons were subjected to OGD/R injury, an in vitro model of ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury with or without STS treatment. Expression of protein phosphatase 2 A (PP2A) and autophagy-associated proteins Beclin 1, autophagy related 5 (ATG5), and p62 in microglia was determined by Western blotting. Autophagic flux in microglia was observed with confocal laser scanning microscopy. Neuronal apoptosis was measured by flow cytometric and TUNEL assays. Neuronal mitochondrial function was determined via assessments of reactive oxygen species generation and mitochondrial membrane potential integrity. STS treatment markedly induced PP2A expression in microglia. Forced overexpression of PP2A increased levels of Beclin 1 and ATG5, decreased the p62 protein level, and induced autophagic flux. Silencing of PP2A or administration of 3-methyladenine inhibited autophagy and decreased the production of anti-inflammatory factors (IL-10, TGF-β and BDNF) and induced the release of proinflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, IL-2 and TNF-α) by STS-treated microglia, thereby inducing mitochondrial dysfunction and apoptosis of STS-treated neurons. STS exerts protection against neuron injury, and the PP2A gene plays a crucial role in improving mitochondrial function and inhibiting neuronal apoptosis by regulating autophagy and inflammation in microglia. Herein, two structurally similar analogues of anthra[2,3‐b : 6,7‐b′]dithiophene (ADT) and naphtho[1,2‐b : 5,6‐b′]dithiophene (NDT) are developed as solid additive to exploit their effect in regulating the molecular aggregation and π‐stacking of photoactive layer. We clarify that the perpendicular arrangements of NDT can enlarge the molecular packing space and improve the face‐on stacking of Y6 during the film formation, favoring a more compact and ordered long‐range π‐π stacking in the out‐of‐plane direction after the removal of NDT under thermal annealing. The edge‐to‐face stacked herringbone‐arrangement of ADT along with its non‐volatilization under thermal annealing can induce the coexistence of face‐on and edge‐on stacking of blend film. As a result, the NDT treatment shows encouraging effect in improving the photovoltaic performance of devices based on various systems. Particularly, a remarkable PCE of 18.85 % is achieved in the PM6 : L8‐BO‐based device treated by NDT additive, which is a significant improvement with regard to the PCE of 16.41 % for the control device. Depressants are essential additives in the flotation separation of scheelite-calcite minerals. However, traditional inorganic depressants such as sodium silicate have the disadvantages of high dosage, environmental pollution, and being non-efficient, which leads to a growing interest in eco-friendly and effective organic alternatives. In this study, a polysaccharide, dextrin, was used as a green depressant for the flotation separation of scheelite from calcite. Micro-flotation experiments indicated that dextrin selectively depressed calcite at natural pH yet scheelite remained floatable using sodium oleate (NaOL) as a collector. Adsorption density and zeta potential results indicated that dextrin was preferentially adsorbed on the calcite surface and prevented the subsequent NaOL from adsorption. By contrast, dextrin had a weak interaction with scheelite, allowing NaOL to be adsorbed on the scheelite surface. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis and density functional theory (DFT) calculations suggested that the Ca2+ active sites on the calcite surface interacted with -OH groups on the carbon ring of dextrin. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) tests confirmed the chemical interaction between -OH groups in dextrin and Ca2+ active sites on the mineral surfaces, and importantly, the interaction was much stronger for calcite than for scheelite.
