Network scale-up method is an indirect population size estimation method based on social network theory. It is widely used in estimating the hidden population size because it does not need to contact the target population. Respondent-driven sampling (RDS) is a method of sampling specifically for hidden populations, often applied to transgender women, female sex workers, men who have sex with men, and other groups that are difficult to identify and contact because of stigma and legal constraints. However, this method is gradually applied to the general population. With the continuous improvement of RDS, studies find that the network size of RDS samples can be weighted to estimate the overall situation and population size. Spatial epidemiology focuses on the use of geographic information systems and spatial analysis to study spatial distribution and change tendency of diseases and explore the health status of specific populations. In recent years, spatial epidemiology has been applied in the field of HIV/AIDS prevention and control. A high precision calibration of the nonlinearity in the energy response of the Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment’s antineutrino detectors is presented in detail. The energy nonlinearity originates from the particle-dependent light yield of the scintillator and charge-dependent electronics response. The nonlinearity model is constrained by γ calibration points from deployed and naturally occurring radioactive sources, the β spectrum from ^(12)B decays, and a direct measurement of the electronics nonlinearity with a new flash analog-to-digital converter readout system. Less than 0.5% uncertainty in the energy nonlinearity calibration is achieved for positrons of kinetic energies greater than 1 MeV.

The prediction of reactor antineutrino spectra will play a crucial role as reactor experiments enter the precision era. The positron energy spectrum of 3.5 million antineutrino inverse beta decay reactions observed by the Daya Bay experiment, in combination with the fission rates of fissile isotopes in the reactor, is used to extract the positron energy spectra resulting from the fission of specific isotopes. This information can be used to produce a precise, data-based prediction of the antineutrino energy spectrum in other reactor antineutrino experiments with different fission fractions than Daya Bay. The positron energy spectra are unfolded to obtain the antineutrino energy spectra by removing the contribution from detector response with the Wiener-SVD unfolding method. Consistent results are obtained with other unfolding methods. A technique to construct a data-based prediction of the reactor antineutrino energy spectrum is proposed and investigated. Given the reactor fission fractions, the technique can predict the energy spectrum to a 2% precision. In addition, we illustrate how to perform a rigorous comparison between the unfolded antineutrino spectrum and a theoretical model prediction that avoids the input model bias of the unfolding method., 22 pages, 10 figures, 6 supplemental materials

Searches for electron antineutrino, muon neutrino, and muon antineutrino disappearance driven by sterile neutrino mixing have been carried out by the Daya Bay and MINOS+ collaborations. This Letter presents the combined results of these searches, along with exclusion results from the Bugey-3 reactor experiment, framed in a minimally extended four-neutrino scenario. Significantly improved constraints on the θ_{μe} mixing angle are derived that constitute the most constraining limits to date over five orders of magnitude in the mass-squared splitting Δm_{41}^{2}, excluding the 90% C.L. sterile-neutrino parameter space allowed by the LSND and MiniBooNE observations at 90% CL_{s} for Δm_{41}^{2}

In this study, the sensitivity of downstream baroclinic development to a tropical cyclone's (TC's) intensity and its initial location relative to the upstream trough during the extratropical transition (ET) of Typhoon Malakas were examined. The downstream development intensity at the mid-latitudes was mainly determined by two factors under the effect of ET, i.e. the strength of transporting low potential vorticity (PV) air downstream by the TC outflow and the strength of the PV gradient being disturbed in the mid-latitude jet. The intensified TC had a stronger upper-level outflow, and the intensified circulations associated with it could disturb the mid-latitude PV gradient more strongly. Therefore, downstream development intensified, i.e. the trough-ridge became more pronounced, and the jet became stronger. Downstream development seemed to be more sensitive to the TC location than its intensity. The TC, being closer to the trough, interacted with the mid-latitude flow more strongly because the trough advanced and strengthened the process that the TC outflow transported low PV air to the mid-latitudes in this situation. Moreover, the TC disturbed the PV gradient earlier and more strongly. The two effects intensified the downstream development. If the TC were weakened or moved away from the upstream trough, the outcome would be the opposite.

Meat duck deep litter is considered to be an ideal environment for the evolution of bacterial antibiotic resistance if it is under poor management. The aim of this study was to characterize the accumulation of antibiotics and heavy metals in the deep litter and their role in the persistence of antibiotic resistance of Escherichia coli, and evaluate the service life of the deep litter. Samples were collected from initial, middle, and final stages of deep litter within 3 barns (zero, 4, and 8 rounds of meat duck fattening, d 34) and 9 flocks, with known consumption of antibiotics in the controlled trail. The feed and litter levels of consumed antibiotics and heavy metals were measured. E. coli (n = 147) was isolated and typed by Eric-PCR and the phylogenetic grouping technique, while minimal inhibitory concentrations of antibiotics and heavy metals were measured. This study confirmed the continuous accumulation of doxycycline and many heavy metals in the deep litter. The population of resistant certain bacteria to doxycycline (16 mg/L, 100 mg/L) or ofloxacin (8 g/mL, 50 g/mL) increased in the used deep litter (rounds 4 and 8). E. coli isolated from the 3 stages of sampling were highly resistant to ampicillin, tetracycline, florfenicol, and doxycycline. Increased resistance to ceftiofur, enrofloxacin, ofloxacin, and gentamicin were seen in the isolates from the final stage of deep litter. In addition, the percentage of isolates tolerant to zinc, copper, and cadmium and the numbers of Group-B2 isolates all increased in the used deep litter, and the isolates of each stage belonged predominantly to commensal groups. The antibiotic resistance of isolates with identical Eric-PCR patterns had improved from round 4 to 8, and differences still existed in the resistance profiles of isolates with identical Eric-PCR patterns from different barns of the same round. This study concluded that deep litter could be suitable for the evolution of bacterial antibiotic-resistance under conditions of continuous usage or accumulation of antibiotics and heavy metals without proper management.

Providing a possible connection between neutrino emission and gravitational-wave (GW) bursts is important to our understanding of the physical processes that occur when black holes or neutron stars merge. In the Daya Bay experiment, using data collected from December 2011 to August 2017, a search has been performed for electron-antineutrino signals coinciding with detected GW events, including GW150914, GW151012, GW151226, GW170104, GW170608, GW170814, and GW170817. We used three time windows of $\mathrm{\pm 10~s}$, $\mathrm{\pm 500~s}$, and $\mathrm{\pm 1000~s}$ relative to the occurrence of the GW events, and a neutrino energy range of 1.8 to 100 MeV to search for correlated neutrino candidates. The detected electron-antineutrino candidates are consistent with the expected background rates for all the three time windows. Assuming monochromatic spectra, we found upper limits (90% confidence level) on electron-antineutrino fluence of $(1.13~-~2.44) \times 10^{11}~\rm{cm^{-2}}$ at 5 MeV to $8.0 \times 10^{7}~\rm{cm^{-2}}$ at 100 MeV for the three time windows. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) have been demonstrated to be involved in the pathogenesis of various human cancers, including oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). Here, we designed this study to explore the potential effect of miR-1290 on tumorigenesis of OSCC.The expressions of miR-1290 and cyclin G2 (CCNG2) in OSCC were observed by quantitative Real Time-Polymerase Chain Reaction (qRT-PCR). Dual-Luciferase Reporter Assay was performed to confirm the relationship between miR-1290 and CCNG2. The functions of miR-1290 and CCNG2 were analyzed using transwell assay. The Western blot analysis was used to detect epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT).Upregulation of miR-1290 and downregulation of CCNG2 were identified in OSCC. And upregulation of miR-1290 was associated with clinicopathological characteristics and poor prognosis in OSCC patients. Moreover, the downregulation of miR-1290 inhibited cell metastasis and EMT in OSCC cells. Furthermore, CCNG2 was a direct target of miR-1290. Its expression was inversely regulated by miR-1290 in OSCC cells. At the same time, the suppressive effect of CCNG2 was observed in OSCC. Furthermore, overexpression of CCNG2 weakened the promoted effect of miR-1290 on cell metastasis in OSCC.MiR-1290 promoted cell metastasis and EMT, inhibiting CCNG2 expression in OSCC.

This Letter reports the first extraction of individual antineutrino spectra from ^{235}U and ^{239}Pu fission and an improved measurement of the prompt energy spectrum of reactor antineutrinos at Daya Bay. The analysis uses 3.5×10^{6} inverse beta-decay candidates in four near antineutrino detectors in 1958 days. The individual antineutrino spectra of the two dominant isotopes, ^{235}U and ^{239}Pu, are extracted using the evolution of the prompt spectrum as a function of the isotope fission fractions. In the energy window of 4-6 MeV, a 7% (9%) excess of events is observed for the ^{235}U (^{239}Pu) spectrum compared with the normalized Huber-Mueller model prediction. The significance of discrepancy is 4.0σ for ^{235}U spectral shape compared with the Huber-Mueller model prediction. The shape of the measured inverse beta-decay prompt energy spectrum disagrees with the prediction of the Huber-Mueller model at 5.3σ. In the energy range of 4-6 MeV, a maximal local discrepancy of 6.3σ is observed.

To explore the effect of microRNA-577 on the drug sensitivity of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and the underlying mechanism.Quantitative Real Time-Polymerase Chain Reaction (qRT-PCR) was used to detect the expression of microRNA-577 in peripheral blood of patients with chronic myeloid leukemia. Meanwhile, the expression of microRNA-577 was detected in CML cell line after imatinib treatment. Cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) and flow cytometry assay were applied to verify the effect of microRNA-577 on cell proliferation and cycle. NUP160 was identified as a target gene of microRNA-577 by dual-luciferase reporter gene assay. Cell reverse test was performed to figure out whether microRNA-577 can enhance the sensitivity of CML to imatinib.QRT-PCR results revealed that microRNA-577 level was notably decreased in peripheral blood of patients with CML, and microRNA-577 could inhibit the proliferation and cycle of CML cells. In addition, the result of dual-luciferase reporting assay indicated that microRNA-577 had a binding relationship with NUP160, and up-regulation of microRNA-577 in CML cell lines reduced the expression of NUP160, and vice versa. Lastly, cell reverse experiments confirmed that microRNA-577 can alleviate the resistance of CML to imatinib.We found that microRNA-577 promotes the sensitivity of chronic myeloid leukemia cells to imatinib by down-regulating the expression of NUP160.

This work reports a precise measurement of the reactor antineutrino flux using 2.2 million inverse beta decay (IBD) events collected with the Daya Bay near detectors in 1230 days. The dominant uncertainty on the neutron detection efficiency is reduced by 56% with respect to the previous measurement through a comprehensive neutron calibration and detailed data and simulation analysis. The new average IBD yield is determined to be $(5.91\pm0.09)\times10^{-43}~\rm{cm}^2/\rm{fission}$ with total uncertainty improved by 29%. The corresponding mean fission fractions from the four main fission isotopes $^{235}$U, $^{238}$U, $^{239}$Pu, and $^{241}$Pu are 0.564, 0.076, 0.304, and 0.056, respectively. The ratio of measured to predicted antineutrino yield is found to be $0.952\pm0.014\pm0.023$ ($1.001\pm0.015\pm0.027$) for the Huber-Mueller (ILL-Vogel) model, where the first and second uncertainty are experimental and theoretical model uncertainty, respectively. Co

Sheath blight (SB), caused by Rhizoctonia solani, is one of the most destructive rice diseases worldwide. It has been difficult to generate SB-resistant varieties through conventional breeding because of the quantitative nature of rice resistance to SB. In this study, we found that overexpression of the OsOSM1 gene, encoding an osmotin protein belonging to the pathogenesis-related protein 5 family, is able to improve rice resistance to SB in field tests. Although there are two osmotin genes in rice, OsOSM1 is the one mainly expressed in leaf sheath at the booting stage, coinciding with the critical stage of SB development in the field. In addition, OsOSM1 expression is strongly induced by R. solani in SB-resistant rice variety YSBR1 but not in susceptible varieties, suggesting its involvement in SB resistance. Overexpression of OsOSM1 (OsOSM1ox) in susceptible variety Xudao 3 significantly increases resistance to SB in transgenic rice. The OsOSM1 mRNA levels in different transgenic lines are found to be positively correlated with their SB resistance levels. Intriguingly, although extremely high levels of OsOSM1 were detrimental to rice development, appropriately elevated levels of OsSOM1 were obtained that enhanced rice SB resistance without affecting rice development or grain yield. The OsSOM1 protein is localized on plasma membrane. OsOSM1 is upregulated by jasmonic acid (JA); furthermore, JA-responsive marker genes are induced in OsOSM1ox lines. These results suggest that the activation of JA signaling pathway may account for the increased resistance in transgenic OsOSM1ox lines. Taken together, our results demonstrate that OsOSM1 plays an important role in defense against rice SB disease and provides a new target for engineering resistance to SB.

We report a measurement of electron antineutrino oscillation from the Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment with nearly 4 million reactor $\overline{\nu}_{e}$ inverse beta decay candidates observed over 1958 days of data collection. The installation of a Flash-ADC readout system and a special calibration campaign using different source enclosures reduce uncertainties in the absolute energy calibration to less than 0.5% for visible energies larger than 2 MeV. The uncertainty in the cosmogenic $^9$Li and $^8$He background is reduced from 45% to 30% in the near detectors. A detailed investigation of the spent nuclear fuel history improves its uncertainty from 100% to 30%. Analysis of the relative $\overline{\nu}_{e}$ rates and energy spectra among detectors yields $\sin^{2}2\theta_{13} = 0.0856\pm 0.0029$ and $\Delta m^2_{32}=(2.471^{+0.068}_{-0.070})\times 10^{-3}~\mathrm{eV}^2$ assuming the normal hierarchy, and $\Delta m^2_{32}=-(2.575^{+0.068}_{-0.070})\times 10^{-3}~\mathrm{eV}^2$ assuming the inverted hierarchy., Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures, and 1 table. v4: the published version

The myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury is a significant challenge, and the clinical significance of remote ischemic postconditioning (RIPostC) in cardioprotection has been confirmed. However, the molecular mechanism remains unclear. We aimed to explore the regulatory mechanism of RIPostC in myocardial I/R.A mouse model of myocardial I/R injury and cell model of oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD)/re-oxygenation (OGD/R) injury were constructed. Infarct size was measured by Evans blue dye staining and TTC staining. mRNA and protein expression levels of aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (ALDH2) were determined by RT-qPCR and Western blot analysis, respectively. Cell viability, p53 expression, apoptotic cells, expression of proteins related to apoptosis, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation were evaluated by CCK-8 assay, Western blot analysis, flow cytometry assay, Western blot analysis, and DCFH-DA staining, respectively. ALDH2 in H9c2 cells was knocked down, and its effects on cells treated with OGD/R and RIPostC were tested. How RIPostC affected ALDH2 expression was finally studied.RIPostC reduced infarct size in mice and attenuated OGD/R-induced H9c2 cell injury. Myocardial I/R-induced down-regulation of ALDH2 was abrogated by RIPostC. Moreover, the effects of RIPostC on OGD/R-treated H9c2 cells were significantly reversed by ALDH2 silence. Finally, we found RIPostC-induced up-regulation of ALDH2 in OGD/R-treated cells could be bated by activation of PI3K and/or mTOR.RIPostC exerted cardioprotective role against myocardial I/R both in vivo and in vitro. Up-regulation of ALDH2 might be a reason for the cardioprotection, and RIPostC might regulate ALDH2 expression via the PI3K/mTOR pathway.

Lithium-sulfur batteries suffer from poor cycling stability and inferior rate capability, mainly caused by low conductivity and lithium polysulfide dissolution. To tackle these problems, this work demonstrates that Ti3C2Tx "clay", synthesized by selectively extracting the Al layers from the Ti3AlC2 phases with a mixture of HCl and LiF, is an effective host material for sulfur cathodes. To further enhance the rate performance and cycling stability of S/Ti3C2Tx composites, a single-walled carbon nanotube thin film was prepared by a simple vacuum filtration method and inserted between the cathode and the separator as an interlayer for Li-S batteries. The S/Ti3C2Tx composite with an interlayer could deliver a high initial discharge capacity of 1458 mA h g-1 at a current density of 0.1 A g-1 and an ultralow capacity decay of 0.04% per cycle at 0.8 A g-1 for over 1500 cycles was achieved. More importantly, a reversible capacity of 608 mA h g-1 was obtained at a high current density of 8.2 A g-1 (≈5C), demonstrating superior rate capability. These results suggest that the S/Ti3C2Tx composite is a promising sulfur cathode material and the introduction of the interlayer will pave the way for the future development and design of high-rate with long-cycle Li-S batteries.

In order to improve the dye depth of TiO2-modified wool fibers, chitosan is incorporated with tetrabutyl titanate in preparing the nanosized TiO2 particles, which are loaded on the surfaces of wool fibers, during hydrothermal process. The TiO2 coated wool fibers are subsequently dyed with Lansol Blue 3G. The structural changes of wool fibers before and after treatments are characterized by several techniques, such as field emission scanning electron microscope, energy-dispersive X-ray, transmission electron microscope, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, thermal gravimetric analysis, and diffuse reflectance spectrum. The properties of tensile, antibacterial activity, yellowness and whiteness indices, dye uptake, K/S value, color fastness to washing, rubbing, and artificial light are also compared. Currently, the plant physiological information detection technology and diagnostic systems has gradually become a hot topic in the research of facilities crop disease warning. By collecting the relevant data of changes in growth conditions of cucumber by Junior-PAM of CI-340 portable photosynthesis system, the experiment studied the correlation between leaf chlorophyll content and Photosynthetic rate, nutritional status and we like to search for the relationship between the changes in disease infection and chlorophyll content in the growth process of leaf. The experiment used different modeling methods to establish the relational model between fluorescence data such as FO ', FM', FV / FM, FO, FM and SPAD, and then make predictions. The results show that the prediction of harmful levels of disease employing neural network model is the best with its MAE being 0.0025 and the accuracy up to 100%.

The Daya Bay Experiment consists of eight identically designed detectors located in three underground experimental halls named as EH1, EH2, EH3, with 250, 265 and 860 meters of water equivalent vertical overburden, respectively. Cosmic muon events have been recorded over a two-year period. The underground muon rate is observed to be positively correlated with the effective atmospheric temperature and to follow a seasonal modulation pattern. The correlation coefficient $\alpha$, describing how a variation in the muon rate relates to a variation in the effective atmospheric temperature, is found to be $\alpha_{\text{EH1}} = 0.362\pm0.031$, $\alpha_{\text{EH2}} = 0.433\pm0.038$ and $\alpha_{\text{EH3}} = 0.641\pm0.057$ for each experimental hall., Comment: Updated to be identical to the published version

Asymmetric ZnO:S/ZnO hetero-nanostructures with well-defined morphology were synthesized by a one-step gas phase condensation process. The as-synthesized products were systematically characterized by transmission electron microscopy. Based on observations, a growth mechanism of the complicated hetero-nanostructures is suggested. The facile synthetic route to prepare these ZnO:S/ZnO hetero-nanostructures offers a possibility to satisfy the special needs of optoelectronic applications. The electronic structures of the hetero-nanostructures were investigated by electron energy loss spectroscopy. Both the common features and the differences between the pure ZnO and S-doped ZnO sections are discussed. These features might provide a new test routine for sulfur implantation and might be useful generally in the control, manipulation, transfer, and harvesting of UV light for ZnO.

In this work, high-performance MnO2/H-TiO2/carbon-microfiber nanowire composite electrodes were successfully synthesized. The crystalline properties and electrical conductivity of the H-TiO2 nanowires were studied by X-ray diffraction, Raman scattering and Mott–Schottky theory. To quantitatively investigate the contribution of hydrogenation to the performance of MnO2/H-TiO2 composite electrodes, their electrochemical performance and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy were quantitatively investigated. The physical mechanism is proposed based on the theory of semiconductor physics. Typically, for a composite electrode hydrogenated at 600 °C, the specific capacitance reaches 630.1 F g−1 at 10 mV s−1 and the high energy density of 46.0 W h kg−1 is obtained at the high power density of 21.8 kW kg−1. Moreover, the capacitance retention is 90% after 5000 cycles. This work provides an idea for rationally designing the high-performance supercapacitors and assembling novel nanostructures with preferable electrochemical performance.

AFP-producing gastric cancer(AFPGC) and hepatoid adenocarcinoma of the stomach (HAS) are two special subtypes of gastric cancer. There are both correlation and difference between them. AFPGC is usually identified as primary gastric cancer with serum AFP level more than 20 ng/ml or showed AFP positive staining by immunohistochemistry. The diagnosis of HAS is mainly dependent on the pathological character of hepatocellular carcinoma-like differentiation of gastric cancer. The morbidity of AFPGC and HAS are rather low, especially the incidence of HAS is about 1%. The prognoses of these two subtypes are poorer than that of common gastric adenocarcinoma, due to a high incidence rate of liver metastasis and lymph node metastasis. With the development of next-generation sequencing and other genomic technologies, gastric cancers, including these two rare subtypes, are now being investigated in more detail at the molecular level. Treatment remains the biggest challenge, early diagnosis and radical resection can dramatically improve patients'prognosis. Monitoring serum AFP and abdominal imaging examination during follow-up is important for early detection of liver metastasis. In combination with local treatment methods such as transarterial chemoembolization and radiofrequency ablation of liver may further extend patients'survival time. Targeted therapy owes a great potential value in the future.产甲胎蛋白胃癌(AFPGC)和胃肝样腺癌(HAS)是胃癌中较为特殊的2种类型，它们之间既有联系又有区别。临床上往往将AFPGC定义为血清AFP20 ng/ml或者免疫组化AFP阳性的胃癌，HAS的诊断主要依靠病理形态学，即具有肝细胞癌分化形态特征的原发性胃癌。AFPGC和HAS的发病率均很低，尤其是HAS，为1%左右，均易发生肝转移和淋巴结转移，预后显著差于普通胃腺癌。随着高通量测序的开展，在胃癌分子分型逐渐明确的同时，人们对AFPGC和HAS的分子背景也有了一定的认识。目前，有效治疗仍是AFPGC和HAS的最大挑战，早期诊断和根治性手术切除可以很大程度地改善患者的预后，术后密切监测血清AFP水平和腹部影像学表现，有助于及早发现肝转移，而联合肝动脉介入化疗和射频消融等局部治疗可以改善患者的预后。靶向治疗在AFPGC和HAS治疗中有着广阔的前景。.

A set of correlations was proposed to predict the viscosities of heavy oils from Leng 43/37 blocks (Liaohe Basin) using some biomarker parameters. Geochemical analysis showed that the heavy oils in this study main suffered from different degrees of biodegradation. With increasing biodegradation, the viscosities of crude oils have strong correlations with the following four biomarker biodegradation parameters: (Pr + Ph)/(nC17 + nC18), (nC17 + nC18)/C30H, nC17 + nC18 + Pr + Ph (mg/g), ∑(nC11 − nC36) (mg/g); the correlation coefficients were 0.96, 0.94, 0.93, and 0.94, respectively. Moreover, for convenience, we ranked the extent of biodegradation as nonbiodegraded and lightly, moderately, heavily, and severely biodegraded. The accuracy and applicable biodegradation scale range of these correlations are discussed. The viscosities obtained from the correlations could be used in designing biodegraded heavy oil production projects.

Effects of heat treatment on microstrucutures of a Re-containing single crystal superalloy have been investigated. The results showed that (γ+γ′) eutectic in as-cast alloy is practically dissolved with solution heat treatment, and the degree of segregation is distinctly decreased. The size, morphology and distribution of γ′ phase are mightily affected by the first-stage ageing treatment temperature. When the first-stage ageing treatment temperature lower than 1160°C, the shape of the γ′ phase is cubic. But the γ′ phase shape is transformed to sphericity when the temperature higher than 1180°C. The γ phase channel width is significantly increased, and the fine γ′ phase precipitated in the γ phase matrix channel.
