Abstract: A massless particle beyond the Standard Model is searched for in the two-body decay Σ+→p+invisible using (1.0087±0.0044)×1010 J/ψ events collected at a center-of-mass energy of s=3.097GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. No significant signal is observed, and the upper limit on the branching fraction B(Σ+→p+invisible) is determined to be 3.2×10−5 at the 90% confidence level. This is the first search for a flavor-changing neutral current process with missing energy in hyperon decays which plays an important role in constraining new physics models.

2. Nuclear level density from relativistic density functional theory and combinatorial method

Abstract: Nuclear level density is calculated with the combinatorial method based on the relativistic density functional theory including pairing correlations. The Strutinsky method is adopted to smooth the total state density in order to refine the prediction at low excitation energy. The impacts of pairing correlations and moments of inertia on the nuclear level density are discussed in detail. Taking Cd112 as an example, it is demonstrated that the nuclear level density based on the relativistic density functional PC-PK1 can reproduce the experimental data at the same level as or even better than the previous approaches.

Abstract: The spin and parity of the charmed mesons Ds⁎+, D⁎0 and D⁎+ are determined for the first time to be JP=1− with significances greater than 10σ over other hypotheses of 2+ and 3−, using an e+e− collision data sample with an integrated luminosity of 3.19 fb−1 collected by the BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of 4.178 GeV. Different spin-parity hypotheses are tested via a helicity amplitude analysis of the processes e+e−→Ds⁎+Ds−, D⁎0D0 and D⁎+D−, with Ds⁎+→Ds+γ, D⁎0→D0π0, and D⁎+→D+π0. The results confirm the quark model predictions.

Abstract: We search for the semi-leptonic decays Λc+→Λπ+π−e+νe and Λc+→pKS0π−e+νe in a sample of 4.5fb−1 of e+e− annihilation data collected in the center-of-mass energy region between 4.600GeV and 4.699GeV by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII. No significant signals are observed, and the upper limits on the decay branching fractions are set to be B(Λc+→Λπ+π−e+νe)

Abstract: We report a search for a dark photon using 14.9 fb−1 of e+e− annihilation data taken at center-of-mass energies from 4.13 to 4.60 GeV with the BESIII detector operated at the BEPCII storage ring. The dark photon is assumed to be produced in the radiative annihilation process of e+e− and to predominantly decay into light dark matter particles, which escape from the detector undetected. The mass range from 1.5 to 2.9 GeV is scanned for the dark photon candidate, and no significant signal is observed. The mass dependent upper limits at the 90% confidence level on the coupling strength parameter ϵ for a dark photon coupling with an ordinary photon vary between 1.6×10−3 and 5.7×10−3.

Abstract: Abstract Using 448.1 × 106 ψ(3686) decays collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII e + e − storage rings, the branching fractions and angular distributions of the decays χ cJ → Ξ − Ξ ¯ $$ \overline{\Xi} $$ + and Ξ0 Ξ ¯ $$ \overline{\Xi} $$ 0 (J = 0, 1, 2) are measured based on a partial-reconstruction technique. The decays χ c1 → Ξ0 Ξ ¯ $$ \overline{\Xi} $$ 0 and χ c2 → Ξ0 Ξ ¯ $$ \overline{\Xi} $$ 0 are observed for the first time with statistical significances of 7σ and 15σ, respectively. The results of this analysis are in good agreement with previous measurements and have significantly improved precision.

Abstract: We search for an axion-like particle (ALP) a through the process ψ(3686)→π+π−J/ψ, J/ψ→γa, a→γγ in a data sample of (2.71±0.01)×109 ψ(3686) events collected by the BESIII detector. No significant ALP signal is observed over the expected background, and the upper limits on the branching fraction of the decay J/ψ→γa and the ALP-photon coupling constant gaγγ are set at 95% confidence level in the mass range of 0.165≤ma≤2.84GeV/c2. The limits on B(J/ψ→γa) range from 8.3×10−8 to 1.8×10−6 over the search region, and the constraints on the ALP-photon coupling are the most stringent to date for 0.165≤ma≤1.468GeV/c2.

Abstract: A multi-task learning (MTL) framework, called gradient kernel ridge regression, for nuclear masses and separation energies is developed by introducing gradient kernel functions to the kernel ridge regression (KRR) approach. By taking the WS4 mass model as an example, the gradient KRR network is trained with the mass model residuals, i.e., deviations between experimental and theoretical values of masses and one-nucleon separation energies, to improve the accuracy of theoretical predictions. Significant improvements are achieved by the gradient KRR approach in both the interpolation and the extrapolation predictions of nuclear masses and separation energies. This demonstrates the advantage of the present MTL framework that integrates the information of nuclear masses and separation energies and improves the predictions for both of them.

9. Development and application of a reverse-transcription recombinase-aided amplification assay for subgroup J Avian leukosis virus

Abstract: ABSTRACT: Subgroup J Avian leukosis virus (ALV-J) is an important pathogen of poultry tumor diseases. Since its discovery, it has caused significant economic losses to the poultry industry. Thus, the rapid detection of molecular level with strong specificity is particularly important whether poultry are infected with ALV-J. In this study, we designed primers and probe for real-time fluorescent reverse-transcription recombinase-aided amplification assay (RT-RAA) based on the ALV-J gp85 sequence. We had established a real-time fluorescent RT-RAA method and confirmed this system by verifying the specificity and sensitivity of the primers and probe. In addition, repeatability tests and clinical sample regression tests were used for preliminary evaluation of this detection method. The sensitivity of established method was about 101 copies/μL, and the repeatability of the CV of the CT value is 4%, indicating repeatability is good. Moreover, there was no cross-reactivity with NDV, IBV, IBDV, H9N2, MDV, and REV, and other avian leukosis virus subgroups, such as subgroups A, B, C, D, K and E. Importantly, the real-time fluorescent RT-RAA completed the test within 30 min at a constant temperature of 41°C. Forty-two clinical samples with known background were tested, and the test results were coincided with 100%. Overall, these results suggested that the real-time fluorescent RT-RAA developed in this study had strong specificity, high sensitivity, and good feasibility. The method is simple, easy, and portable, that is suitable for clinical and laboratory diagnosis, and provides technical support for the prevention and control of ALV-J.

10. Elective embryo or fetal reduction for caesarean scar pregnancy combined with intrauterine pregnancy

Abstract: Objective: The purpose of this study is to report and discuss the use of elective embryo reduction to treat a cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP) combined with intrauterine pregnancy after assisted reproduction, and its clinical outcomes. Material and Methods: Clinical data from six patients who were diagnosed with CSP combined with intrauterine pregnancy were retrospectively collected and analyzed. Four patients underwent elective embryo or fetal reduction following local injection of potassium chloride (reduction group), while the other two patients chose to continue their multiple pregnancies (observation group). Results: All patients were pregnant with multiple chorionic and amniotic fetuses after assisted reproduction. Mild placenta accreta was observed in one patient in the reduction group. In this group, hemorrhage volume during delivery was from 400 to 900 mL, and the average birth weight was 2,776 g. Placenta accreta spectrum occurred in both patients in the observation group, and they gave birth prematurely between 32 and 34 weeks. Conclusion: CSP combined with intrauterine pregnancy was treated using elective embryo or fetal reduction, which may improve maternal and fetal safety. Abstract: The edge turbulence characteristics and the induced radial transport have been investigated in edge localized mode (ELM) suppression by using the $n = $ 4 resonant magnetic perturbation coils on EAST, with ${q_{95}} = $ 3.6 and the electron collisionality $\nu _{\text{e}}^* \approx $ 0.5. During ELM suppression, the edge turbulence is enhanced dramatically, as measured by the reciprocating probe and the poloidal correlation reflectometry. In the near SOL, the low frequency turbulence (250 kHz), which could be beneficial to form the observed turbulent transport. The estimated upstream cross-field particle flux is consistent with the total particle flux deposited on divertor targets, demonstrating that the enhanced radial turbulent particle transport is an important mechanism for particle exhaust in ELM suppression.

12. Nuclear masses in extended kernel ridge regression with odd-even effects

Abstract: The kernel ridge regression (KRR) approach is extended to include the odd-even effects in nuclear mass predictions by remodulating the kernel function without introducing new weight parameters and inputs in the training network. By taking the WS4 mass model as an example, the mass for each nucleus in the nuclear chart is predicted with the extended KRR network, which is trained with the mass model residuals, i.e., deviations between experimental and calculated masses, of other nuclei with known masses. The resultant root-mean-square mass deviation from the available experimental data for the 2353 nuclei with Z≥8 and N≥8 can be reduced to 128 keV, which provides the most precise mass model from machine learning approaches so far. Moreover, the extended KRR approach can avoid the risk of worsening the mass predictions for nuclei at large extrapolation distances, and meanwhile, it provides a smooth extrapolation behavior with respect to the odd and even extrapolation distances.

13. Intensive processing optimization for achieving strong and ductile Al-Mn-Mg-Sc-Zr alloy produced by selective laser melting

Abstract: The Sc-containing AlMn alloy system produced by additive manufacturing (AM) has recently presented exciting new opportunities to achieve a step-change in mechanical properties, but its processability remains unclear. In this work, the optimum processing window for the Al-Mn-Mg-Sc-Zr alloy fabricated by selective laser melting (SLM) has been established for the first time. The window covers the range of processing parameters that can lead to a good combination of part density, strength, ductility, and processability. The alloys fabricated within this optimized processing window of SLM have the material relative density more than 99.8% with less porosity. Moreover, all these alloys have the yield strength exceeding 430 MPa and the ductility of over 17%. Further microstructural examinations suggest that such excellent mechanical properties are associated with a bimodal grain architecture. Also, a high number density of intermetallic particles has been detected in these two-grain regions. They are confirmed to be Al3Sc and Mn(Fe)-rich quasicrystal. Most of these particles distributing along grain boundaries are expected to pin the grain boundaries and contribute to the high strength of this alloy. The findings will provide an essential basis for achieving exceptional mechanical performance and intricate geometry designs of the alloy using AM.

Abstract: We report a search for a dark photon using $14.9$~fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ annihilation data taken at center-of-mass energies from 4.13 to 4.60~GeV with the BESIII detector operated at the BEPCII storage ring. The dark photon is assumed to be produced in the radiative annihilation process of $e^+e^-$ and to predominantly decay into light dark matter particles, which escape from the detector undetected. The mass range from 1.5 to 2.9~GeV is scanned for the dark photon candidate, and no significant signal is observed. The mass dependent upper limits at the 90$\%$ confidence level on the coupling strength parameter $\epsilon$ for a dark photon coupling with an ordinary photon vary between $1.6\times 10^{-3}$ and $5.7\times10^{-3}$., Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures

Abstract: The poloidal width of the filaments induced by the type-I edge localized mode has power dependence in EAST. The poloidal widths of the filaments observed by the high-speed vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) imaging system are proportional to the heating power and the ELM size. To understand this power dependence, the BOUT++ nonlinear simulations have been performed with the reconstructed equilibriums from the experimental measurements in this paper. The synthetic filament structures from BOUT++ nonlinear simulation match the experimental observations by the VUV imaging system. The BOUT++ nonlinear simulations also reproduce the power dependence of the filament widths and the ELM size. The filament width and the ELM size are inversely proportional to the toroidal mode number. The low-n mode has a broader radial and poloidal structure, which causes the larger filament width and ELM size. In the high input power case, the mode spectrum shifts to low-n, a result of increasing peeling drive. Besides, we found the β p in a higher input power case leads to a broader pedestal, expanding the radial mode structure of the peeling-ballooning mode.

17. Dynamics of electron internal transport barrier formation at the H–L transition on EAST

Abstract: The dynamics of electron-internal transport barrier (e-ITB) formation is studied in the hybrid plasma of neutral beam injection and lower hybrid wave heating on EAST. The e-ITB is observed to be repetitively formed at the H–L transition, where the relaxation process of core radiation triggers an increase in neutron yield and core electron temperature. A reversed q-profile is beneficial for generating the barrier, identified by the appearance of reversed shear Alfvén eigenmodes (RSAEs). The dimensionless parameter of the normalized Larmor radius ( ρ T e * ) is estimated to visualize the dynamic behavior of the e-ITB. It is found that the e-ITB forms once the electron ρ T e * exceeds 0.014, and the RSAEs are accompanied by the e-ITB formation. The barrier foot moves inwards until the L–H transition occurs, where the H-mode pedestal or type-I edge localized mode (ELM) strongly influences the e-ITB intensity. The results of thermal transport modeling show a significant reduction in the core thermal transport coefficient in the electron channel while maintaining a nearly unchanged ion transport level as the e-ITB evolves.

Abstract: The aim of this study was to investigate the protective effect of glutamine (Gln) on the intestinal morphology, intestinal inflammatory response, and barrier integrity in broilers exposed to high ambient temperature. Three-hundred-sixty 21-d-old Arbor Acres broilers (half male and half female) were randomly allocated to 4 treatment groups in a completely randomized design, each of which included 6 replicates with 15 birds per replicate, for 21 d. The 4 treatment groups were as follows: the control group, in which birds were kept in a thermoneutral room at 22 ± 1°C (no stress, NS; fed a basal diet); the heat stress group (36 ± 1°C for 10 h/d from 08:00 to 18:00 h and 22 ± 1°C for the remaining time, heat stress (HT); fed a basal diet); and heat stress + Gln group (0.5 and 1.0% Gln, respectively). Compared to the NS group, broilers in the HT group had lower villus height (P < 0.05), higher crypt depth (P < 0.05), higher D-lactic acid and diamine oxidase (DAO) activity (P < 0.05), higher soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (sICAM-1) concentration (P < 0.05), higher tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α/interleukin (IL)-10 (P < 0.05), and lower tight junction protein expression levels (P < 0.05). Compared with birds in the HT, birds in the HT + Gln group exhibited increased villus height (P < 0.05), decreased D-lactate and DAO activity (P < 0.05), decreased sICAM-1 concentration (P < 0.05), and mediate the secretion of cytokines (P < 0.05), as well as increased zonula occludens-1 (ZO-1), claudin-1, and occludin mRNA expression levels (P < 0.05). In conclusion, these results indicate that supplementation with Gln was effective in partially ameliorating the adverse effects of heat stress on intestinal barrier function in broilers by promoting epithelial cell proliferation and renewal, modifying the function of the intestinal mucosa barrier, and regulating the secretion of cytokines.

Abstract: It is well demonstrated that wheat-rye 1BL/1RS translocated chromosome leads to some valuable novel traits such as disease resistance, high yield and functional stay-green after anthesis. To understand the physiological mechanism of 1BL/1RS translocation responsible for osmotic stress, two wheat cultivars, CN12 and CN17, carrying the translocated chromosome and MY11 without the translocated chromosome were employed in the study. During 5-day osmotic stress, fresh weight inhibition, chlorophyll content, soluble protein content, MDA concentration, antioxidant enzymes activity and free polyamines content were examined. CN12 and CN17, especially cultivar CN17, registered greater biomass and minor oxidative damage compared with their wheat parent. Meanwhile, the concentration of Spd and Spm in CN17 was significantly higher than the others. In addition, we found a positive correlation of fresh weight inhibition (FWI) and Put concentration, and a negative one with the parameters (Spd + Spm): Put ratio, indicating the importance of higher polyamine (Spd and Spm) accumulation on the adaptation to osmotic stress. Therefore, we proposed that the accumulation of higher polyamines (Spd and Spm) should play an important role on the adaptation of 1BL/1RS translocation lines to osmotic stress and might be important factors for the origin of novel traits introduced by 1BL/1RS.

The preliminary displacement adjustment scheme for column bases was made, according to the safety range of column bases displacement which was determined by the maximum stress restricted by allowable stress at the set heat treatment temperatures. The final scheme was made after checking the preliminary scheme. The method of making adjustment scheme of column bases for a 10000m 3 spherical tank during the whole-body heat treatment may provide a reference for other large spherical tank.

Abstract: We analyzed synonymous codon usage patterns of the mitochondrial genomes of 43 parasitic platyhelminth species. The relative synonymous codon usage, the effective number of codons (NC) and the frequency of G+C at the third synonymously variable coding position were calculated. Correspondence analysis was used to determine the major variation trends shaping the codon usage patterns. Among the mitochondrial genomes of 19 trematode species, the GC content of third codon positions varied from 0.151 to 0.592, with a mean of 0.295 ± 0.116. In cestodes, the mean GC content of third codon positions was 0.254 ± 0.044. A comparison of the nucleotide composition at 4-fold synonymous sites revealed that, on average, there was a greater abundance of codons ending on U (51.9%) or A (22.7%) than on C (6.3%) or G (19.14%). Twenty-two codons, including UUU, UUA and UUG, were frequently used. In the NC-plot, most of points were distributed well below or around the expected NC curve. In addition to compositional constraints, the degree of hydrophobicity and the aromatic amino acids also influenced codon usage in the mitochondrial genomes of these 43 parasitic platyhelminth species.

Abstract: A method involving the combination of solution processing and high-temperature synthesis was developed to fabricate xBiFeO3/(1–x)BaTiO3 core–shell nanostructure with x from 0.6 to 1. It was found that both saturation magnetisation and dielectric properties of xBiFeO3/(1–x)BaTiO3 nanostructures increase with the content of BaTiO3 decreasing. Interestingly, the improved magnetic and dielectric properties were found in 0.8BFO/0.2BTO nanostructure. The authors attribute the enhancement of magnetic and dielectric properties to the core–shell nanostructure and morphotropic phase boundary in a BiFeO3/BaTiO3 nanostructure.

In the embedded system software, there are lots of reusable public service codes, we design and realize a real-time framework using the reusable code. By implementing an operating system encapsulated layer based on the real-time framework, we achieve the objective of developing application software independent of the target platform, and making the generated code be capable of cross-platform capability. To tackle the problem of frequent gearshift on ramp of the traditional shift schedule, a slope recognition method based on the vehicle's acceleration is proposed and the traditional shift schedule has been modified using genetic algorithm. The shift performance of running on ramp has been analyzed and the traditional shift schedule has been modified to get rid of its weakness when traveling on the ramp. Genetic algorithm has been used to calculate the shift schedule. Simulation result show that modified shift schedule can adapt to the slope change effectively. INTRODUCTION With the development of electronic and control technologies, automatic transmission has been widely used in modern vehicle. These properties are mainly affected by the shift schedule for the vehicle equipped with AMT(automated manual transmission), which defines the time of gear shifting according to the variation of the control parameters. The traditional shift schedule is based on vehicle speed and throttle opening on good level road, which does not consider the influence of slope on gearshift performance and therefore can not adapt to the slope change of road, and may make the gearshift occur frequently and also reduce the overall performance of the vehicle. In order to improve the adaptability of automatic transmission to the slope change of driving road, it is very important for AMT ( automated manual transmission) vehicle to modify the traditional shift schedule when the vehicle travels on ramp according to change of the slope of road.

By the effective medium approximation (EMA) method, this paper presents the investigation of the optical properties of nanocomposite with α -aligned metal filled carbon nanotubes embedded in an insulating host medium. Abstract: Field evaporation of carbon as positive and negative ions from the clean graphite (001) plane surface under STM pulsed-field conditions has been investigated. We use the charge-exchange model, taking the potential from a simple empirical atomic potential model. The removed carbon atom considered here initially resides in the perfect graphite surface, rather than being an adsorbed atom. Assuming a clean tungsten tip as counterelectrode, threshold electric fields for C − , C + , and C 2+ have been obtained. We further consider the possibility of field evaporation of C clusters. Our calculations indicate that C atoms can field-evaporate as members of ionic clusters at much lower threshold fields than a single carbon atom can. We conclude that ionic carbon clusters are favored in field evaporation from graphite, based on lower threshold fields obtained in the charge-exchange model.

This article is designed to appeal to newcomers to the field of supercritical fluids and more experienced scientists who may have specialized in a particular application of supercritical fluids, for example, extraction, without necessarily being aware of other important areas involving supercritical fluid technology. It also serves to describe where possible how different types of supercritical fluid technologies can be integrated to reduce downstream processing costs. Due to progressively more stringent organic solvent legislation, the use of supercritical fluids especially those derived from carbon dioxide and water is rapidly developing. Abstract: Basal plane sapphire is a common substrate for the heteroepitaxy of GaN. This presents a challenge for fabrication of cleaved facet GaN lasers because the natural cleavage planes in (0001) α-A12O3 are not perpendicular to the wafer surface. This paper describes a method for achieving perpendicular cleaved facets through wafer fusion that can potentially be used to fabricate GaN based in-plane lasers. We demonstrate successful fusion of GaN to InP without voids or oxide at the interface and fabricate optically flat cleaved GaN facets that are parallel to the crystallographic planes of the host InP. I-V measurements have been performed across the n-N fused interface. These results show that the fused interface exhibits a barrier for electrons passing from the InP to the GaN and ohmic conduction of electrons moving in the opposite direction.

Abstract: The evolution of morphology and associated extended defects in GaN thin films grown on sapphire by metalorganic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) are shown to depend strongly on the growth environment. For the commonly used two-step growth process, a change in growth parameter such as reactor pressure influences the initial high temperature (HT) GaN growth mechanism. By means of transmission electron microscopy (TEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and high resolution X-ray diffraction (HRXRD) measurements, it is shown that the initial density of HT islands on the nucleation layer (NL) and subsequently the threading dislocation density in the HT GaN film may be directly controlled by tailoring the initial HT GaN growth conditions.

Abstract: As the testing mockup of tritium breeding blanket for DEMO, the Chinese helium cooled ceramic breeder test blanket system (HCCB TBS) is under development by China and will be tested in ITER to verify key tritium breeding blanket technologies. After the approval of the conceptual design of the HCCB TBS by the ITER Organization in 2015, the design optimization and more research and development activities for the HCCB TBS have begun for the preliminary design. This paper gives an overview of the recent progress of the HCCB TBS development in China, including the design optimizations, material development, mockup fabrication and test facility construction. 43. Fast lateral epitaxial overgrowth of gallium nitride by metalorganic chemical vapor deposition using a two-step process

Abstract: We demonstrate a two-step process wherein the lateral epitaxial growth (LEO) of GaN from 0>-oriented stripes is initiated at a low V/III ratio to produce smooth, vertical 0> sidewalls, and where the V/III ratio is subsequently raised in order to increase the lateral growth rate. We find that the formation of the 01> facets is inhibited using this two-step process, and that it is possible to maintain the 0> sidewalls while achieving a large lateral growth rate. The ratio of lateral to vertical growth rate has been increased by up to factor of 2.6 using this approach relative to identical growth conditions without the initiation at low V/III ratio. The effect of lateral growth rate on the structural properties of the stripes is discussed.
