We developed a simple method of preparing recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 (rhBMP-2) with high biological activity. This rhBMP-2 was overproduced in Escherichia coli as a fusion protein with thioredoxin 6xHis-tag at its amino terminus. The cDNA fragment of human bone morphogenetic protein-2 (hBMP-2) fused to the secretion signal of alkaline phosphatase (PhoA) was expressed under T7 promoter in E. coli. After DNA sequence confirmation, the recombinant vector pETpho-bmp2 was transformed into E. coli BL21 (DE3). rhBMP-2 was produced by the recombinant strain pETpho-bmp2/BL21 (DE3) in a soluble form with an yield of 6.2 mg/L culture. Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) results showed that the molecular weight of the product was approximately 28 kD. Moreover, rhBMP-2 was secreted as a dimer with a natural structure. rhBMP-2, purified by Ni Nitrilotriacetic acid Agarose (Ni-NTA) affinity chromatography, was used to examine osteosarcoma MG-63 cells and assay the alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity. Results showed that rhBMP-2 induced MG-63 cell differentiation. When the final concentration was 500 ng/mL, the effect was more remarkable and ALP activity reached 525% compared with that of the control group.

In this paper, a 1.5-MW wind turbine design process is proposed. A hybrid transmission type with single planetary gear connected to two-stage parallel shaft cylindrical gear is designed and some main relevant parameters are calculated. The contact and bending fatigue strength of the sun gear and planetary gear are checked separately in the design process, to verify the calculation results. At last the modeling and finite element analysis method is used to analyze the designed gearbox. The first 3-order vibration modes and the first 8-order mode frequencies of the main components are listed in the final analysis, which proved the validity and rationality of the design.

Using flexible cotton fabrics as substrates, Cu2O were in-situ synthesized to make Cu2O uniformly grew on cotton fibers and were wrapped with NC. The photocatalytic degradation ability of COCO-5 was verified by use methylene blue (MB), the degradation rate was as high as 98.32%. The mechanism of COCO-5 photocatalysis and the process of dye degradation were analyzed by using electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectrum, transient photocurrent response (TPR) spectrum, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and ion chromatography (IC). This study analyzed the complete path from electron excitation to dye degradation to harmless small molecules. Qualitative and quantitative experiments demonstrate that COCO-5 has high antibacterial activity against S. aureus and E. coli, the highest antibacterial rate can reach 93.25%. Finally, the stability of COCO-5 was verified by recycling and mechanical performance tests. The textile-based Cu2O functionalized material has photocatalytic degradation and antibacterial properties, and the preparation process is simple and convenient for repeated use, so it has great potential in wastewater treatment containing dyes and bacteria.

The static characteristics of a type of three-phase magnetic latching relay and single-phase magnetic latching relay are analyzed by ANSYS software. The integrated model of contact circuit and electromagnetic system is established. The influence of contact circuit on magnetic latching force under rated current and short-circuit current is studied by comparing two kinds of magnetic latching relays with different structures. The results show that electromagnetic system will be affected by contact circuit. Interference of magnetic field caused by current to contact system. The influence of the magnetic field generated by the current at different times in a cycle on the magnetic latching force is analyzed, the distance between the contact and the electromagnetic system is changed to change the influence of the magnetic latching force without changing the structure of the relay. It provides a reference for electromagnetic compatibility design and optimization of electromagnetic relays.

EG27I is an endogenous glucanase belonging to glycoside hydrolase family (GHF) 45 from the mollusk Ampullaria crossean. In this study, the mature EG27I peptide gene fused to the HFBII secretion signal of Trichoderma reesei was expressed under the GAP promoter of Pichia pastoris in SMD1163 strain. A bioactive EG27I with a molecular weight of 27 kDa was successfully expressed and secreted into our culture medium. The respective final OD600 and hydrolytic activity were 333 and 1.28 U/mL when high-cell-density fermentation of the recombinant P. pastoris was performed in a 7.5 L fermenter through a fed-batch strategy for 132 h. The recombinant protein concentration of the fermentation supernatant was 47.7 mg/L. EG27I was consecutively purified from the fermentation supernatant through ultrafiltration, cation exchange, and hydrophobic interaction. The specific activity of the recombinant EG27I was 26.8 U/mg, and the optimal pH and temperature of the enzyme were 5 and 50 °C, respectively. The half-life of the enzyme activity at 100 °C could reach 40 min. The N-terminal amino acid sequence analysis of the purified recombinant protein confirmed that the amino terminal sequence was consistent with the natural structure. The high quantity and purity of the EG27I provide a basis for future structural and functional studies.

A novel wind turbine weak feature extraction method based on Cross Genetic Algorithm (CGA) optimal Mexican-Hat Wavelet (MHW) is proposed in this paper. At first, the optimal MHW is improved by adding 2 parameters to change the mother wavelet waveform. Then the CGA is introduced to optimize the suitable parameters in mother waveform establishment and continuous wavelet transform. In the end, the weak feature drawn in the strong background noise interruption can be extracted using the optimal parameters. By the experiment using real vibration signals of the wind turbine transmission system, it can be proved that the proposed method can not only suppress the strong background noise interruption, but also can extract the wind turbine weak features effectively.

Cu2O nanoparticle (NP)-functionalized cellulose-based aerogel (Cu2O/CBA) with three-dimensional (3D) macroporous structure and abundant active sites was successfully prepared for visible-light photocatalysis via in situ deposition of Cu2O NPs on cellulose-based aerogel (CBA). Octahedral Cu2O NPs were formed and anchored onto the surface and inner wall of the cellulose matrix, which acted as a microreactor to prevent aggregation and protect the catalytic character of the Cu2O NPs. The photocatalytic performance of the Cu2O/CBA composite catalysts was evaluated using degradation of methylene blue (MB) as model pollutant. The effects of catalyst dosage, initial MB concentration, and solution pH on MB photodegradation were investigated. Use of 3D macroporous CBA improved the MB adsorption capacity and extended the absorption of visible-light irradiation. In particular, in situ deposition of Cu2O in the cellulose matrix enhanced separation of photogenerated electrons and holes via surface-adsorbed molecular oxygen, and consequently the catalytic activity. The photodegradation rate of MB by Cu2O/CBA composite catalyst reached 95.79%, much higher than the value of 73.59% for pure Cu2O. The photodegradation process on the Cu2O/CBA composite catalysts followed an apparent pseudo-first-order kinetic model. The Cu2O/CBA composite catalyst was easily recycled and reused, with 80% MB degradation rate retained even after six cycles of irradiation for 30 min each. Such Cu2O/CBA composite catalysts can be applied for wastewater treatment utilizing solar radiation.

Calcium phosphate (CaP) materials are optimal candidate biomaterials for bone tissue engineering because of their bioactivity and biocompatibility. The controlled fabrication of CaP materials draws great interest because the size, shape and composition of CaP crystals play critical roles in biological response. In this study, CaP nanowires and microspheres were synthesised via an organic-free hydrothermal process without the assistance of any surfactant or template. The effect of the reaction condition on CaP crystal growth was investigated. Experimental results showed that the size, shape and composition of the obtained CaP crystals could be manipulated by changing nucleation temperature, reaction temperature, pH value and reaction time. The chemical composition of the obtained crystals had a common change process from dicalcium phosphate dihydrate and dicalcium phosphate anhydrous to hydroxyapatite with the elongation of reaction time. The prenucleation and nucleation temperature before hydrothermal treatment were critical for the growth of CaP crystal. Two typical morphologies of nanowire and microsphere were fabricated under the given reaction condition. The growth mechanisms of the crystals were also discussed in this paper. In vitro results showed that both nanowires and microspheres of CaP exhibited exceptional performance to improve osteoblast proliferation, which endowed them with interesting potential for bone repair. The findings are highly important to develop excellent materials suitable for bone tissue engineering.

To understand the correlation between structural feature and removal capability, a series of cellulose-based bioadsorbents with controlled pore size and functional group contents were designed and synthesized by grafting acrylic acid and acrylamide onto cellulose backbone chains. The adsorption behavior of these bioadsorbents to three metal ions [Cr(III), Cu(II) and Co(II)] in aqueous solution was investigated. The correlation between structural feature of cellulose-based bioadsorbents and their removal capability was studied in detail. The obtained cellulose-based bioadsorbents interacted with different metal ions, exhibiting highly effective ion removal from aqueous solution at a wide pH range of 3.0–5.0. The maximum adsorption of Cr(III), Cu(II) and Co(II) was determined as 220.64, 213.49 and 137.55 mg/g, respectively, when the cellulose-based bioadsorbents were treated by 2000 mg/L metal solution at pH 3.0 for 14 h. Moreover, the competitive adsorption showed that cellulose-based bioadsorbents had higher adsorption selectivity for Cr(III) (54.72 mg/g) with the coexistence of Cu(II) and Co(II). The adsorption mechanisms were interpreted considering the functional groups of bioadsorbent, ion characteristics, and varitation of solution acidity. The higher adsorption of Cr(III) could be ascribed to the stronger attraction to the lone pair of electrons both in oxygen and nitrogen atom to form more stable complexes, while only carboxyl/carbonyl groups participated in the adsorption of Cu(II) and Co(II). These results are important because they provide not only a approach to structure-controlled adsorbent for pollutant removal, but also interesting information concerning the adsorption capability of these structures based on pore size and surface functional groups.

We describe a ring whose category of Cohen-Macaulay modules provides an additive categorification of the cluster algebra structure on the homogeneous coordinate ring of the Grassmannian of k-planes in n-space. More precisely, there is a cluster character defined on the category which maps the rigid indecomposable objects to the cluster variables and the maximal rigid objects to clusters. Despite superior clinical handling, excellent biocompatibility, biodegradation property of calcium phosphate needs to be improved to coincide with the rate of new bone formation. In this study, spherical CaCO3 are fabricated in the presence of the silk sericin and then transformed into porous hydroxyapatite (HAP) microspheres via hydrothermal method. The degradation behavior of obtained CaCO3, HAP and their mixture is first investigated in vitro. The result demonstrates that the weight loss of HAP microspheres are almost 24.3% after immersing in pH 7.40 Tris-HCl buffer solution for 12 weeks, which is far slower than that of spherical CaCO3 (97.5%). The degradation speed of the mixtures depends on the proportion of CaCO3 and HAP. The mixture with higher content of CaCO3 possesses a quicker degradation speed. The obtained CaCO3 and HAP microspheres are injected into subcutaneous tissue of ICR mice with the assistance of sodium alginate. The result in vivo also shows an obvious difference of degradation speed between the obtained CaCO3 and HAP microspheres, implying it is feasible to modulate the degradation property of the mixture through changing the proportion of CaCO3 and HAP The good cytocompatibility of the two kinds of microspheres is proved and a mild inflammation response is observed only at early stage of implantation. The job offers a simple method to modify the degradation properties of biomaterial for potential use in bone tissue engineering.

In this work, cellulose-based macroporous cryogels were fabricated by grafting with acrylic acid and acrylamide, which provided the carboxyl and amino functional groups, respectively. The effects of crosslinker, extra water, acrylic acid/ (acrylic acid+acrylamide) feeding ratio on the structure and swelling performance of the resultant cryogels were experimentally investigated. Cellulose-based cryogels with different pore size were prepared by adjusting the reaction parameters. The pore size and functional group contents influenced the swelling behavior of the cryogels. The fabricated cryogels were also investigated as an adsorbent for the removal of toxic methyl blue (MB) from aqueous solution. The interconnected macroporous structure as well as large number of functional groups of the cryogels led to the high adsorption capacity of MB. The maximum adsorption capacity was around 990.1 mg per 1 g dye gel within 60 min. The investigation of the adsorption kinetics revealed that the adsorption process of MB from aqueous solution was well described by pseudosecond order kinetic model. Large-scale preparation of cryogel adsorbents with tunable porous structure and surface functional groups are possible. Therefore, the macroporous cellulose-based cryogels can be used as an adsorbent for the removal of chemical toxic products from aqueous solution.

We study the structure of the $0$-Schur algebra $S_0(n, r)$ following the geometric construction of $S_0(n, r)$ by Jensen and Su \cite{JS}. The main results are the construction and classification of indecomposable projective modules. In addition, we construct bases of these modules and their homomorphism spaces. We also give a filtration of projective modules, which leads to a decomposition of $S_0(n,r)$ into indecomposable left modules., Comment: The paper has been reorganised. In the past years, the self-assembly of specific proteins has been paid more and more attention due to their significant role in human health and fabrication of new materials. In this article, we explore the effect of reaction conditions on the self-assembly of natural silk sericin protein, including the molecular weight and the concentration of sericin, pH, and metal ions in the reaction system. The results indicate that all these factors, especially species and concentration of metal ions, could influence the self-assembly process of the silk sericin protein. A series of assemblies with various morphologies can be fabricated by modulating the reaction condition. The article may provide some clue for the understanding of the protein self-assembly in the body and a method to fabricate new organic materials with different morphology. Microsc. Res. In this paper, a facile and green method was presented to prepare flexible, ultralight, and hydrophobic cellulose aerogels (CA) on the chemical cross-linking of cellulose solution, lyophilization and subsequent hydrophobic modification with methyltrichlorosilane (MTCS) by a thermal chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process. The resultant cellulose aerogels had an interconnected and highly porous structure with a varied pore size owing to different starting solution concentrations. And also the cellulose aerogels were ultralight (as low as 0.027 g cm−3), but they exhibited improved mechanical properties with compress stress of 1.10–3.85 MPa. After silanization, the MTCS-modified cellulose aerogels showed durable hydrophobicity with an average water contact angle of 141°, even maintaining 131° after 5 days. Furthermore, the flexible and hydrophobic cellulose aerogels could rapidly collect oils and organic solvents both on the surface and bottom from water, and exhibited excellent adsorption performances (e.g. 59.32 g g−1 of pump oil) as well as good recyclability. Thus, such a flexible and hydrophobic cellulose aerogel is a very promising material for oil spill cleanup and industrial oily wastewater purification.

In this paper, a new kernel-domain spectrum based method is proposed to analyze the non-Gaussian and nonlinear characteristics of vibration signal for fault diagnosis of wind turbine. The proposed approach consists of the following key steps. First, the raw vibration signal measured from the wind turbine is divided into groups for data pre-process. The bispectrum method is then applied to the group data analysis and accordingly two-dimension data matrices are obtained. The baseline kernel templates, which will be utilized for comparison and classification, are then built up by a binarization processing. The fault classification can be achieved by a comparison between baseline kernel templates and test kernel templates, and the latter templates are built by using the same method on the test data. This kernel-domain spectrum based method can not only distinguish fault types, but also address the challenges associated with smaller faults. The testing results from the rolling-element bearing fault diagnosis experiment proved the effectiveness and viability of the proposed method.

In Jensen and Su (J. Pure Appl. Algebra 219(2), 277–307 2014) constructed 0-Schur algebras, using double flag varieties. The construction leads to a presentation of 0-Schur algebras using quivers with relations and the quiver presentation naturally gives rise to a new class of algebras, which are introduced and studied in this paper. That is, these algebras are defined on the quivers of 0-Schur algebras with relations modified from the defining relations of 0-Schur algebras by a tuple of parameters t. In particular, when all the entries of t are 1, we recover 0-Schur algebras. When all the entries of t are zero, we obtain a class of basic algebras, which we call the degenerate 0-Schur algebras. We prove that the degenerate algebras are both associated graded algebras and quotients of 0-Schur algebras. Moreover, we give a geometric interpretation of the degenerate algebras using double flag varieties, in the same spirit as Jensen and Su (J. Pure Appl. Algebra 219(2), 277–307 2014), and show how the centralizer algebras are related to nil-Hecke and nil-Temperley-Lieb algebras.

The removal of cationic methylene blue (MB) and anionic acid red 1 (AR1) dyes from aqueous solution was studied using cellulose-g-p(AA-co-AM) bio-adsorbent (CP bio-adsorbent). The CP bio-adsorbent with surface multiple functional groups and macroporous network structure was synthesized via grafting the acrylic acid (AA) and acrylamide (AM) onto cellulose molecules. The adsorption behavior of the bio-adsorbent to dyes in the aqueous solution was studied. The effects of solution pH, temperature, initial dye concentration, and contact time on the adsorption capacity of the bio-adsorbent were investigated. Due to the abundant functional groups and macroporous network structure, the CP bio-adsorbent exhibited remarkable adsorption performance for the removal of type dyes with an equilibrium adsorption capacity of 998 mg·g-1 for MB and 523 mg·g-1 for AR1. The kinetic studies revealed that the adsorption of dyes was exactly described by a pseudo-second-order kinetic model. Comparison with other bio-adsorbents confirmed that the eco-friendly CP bio-adsorbent possessed excellent potential for water purification.

We define a generic multiplication in quantized Schur algebras and thus obtain a new algebra structure in the Schur algebras. We prove that via a modified version of the map from quantum groups to quantized Schur algebras, defined in (A. A. Beilinson, G. Lusztig and R. MacPherson, A geometric setting for the quantum deformation of GL(n), Duke Math. J. 61 (1990), 655-677), a subalgebra of this new algebra is a quotient of the monoid algebra in Hall algebras studied in (M. Reineke, Generic extensions and multiplicative bases of quantum groups at q = 0, Represent. Theory 5 (2001), 147-163). We also prove that the subalgebra of the new algebra gives a geometric realization of a positive part of 0-Schur algebras, defined in (S. Donkin, The q-Schur Algebra, London Mathematical Society Lecture Note Series 253. Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, 1998, x + 179. ISBN: 0-521-64558-1.). Consequently, we obtain a multiplicative basis for the positive part of 0-Schur algebras.

In this paper, we show that there is always an open adjoint orbit in the nilpotent radical of a seaweed Lie algebra in gl n (k), thus answering positively in this gl n (k) case to a question raised independently by Michel Duflo and Dmitri Panyushev. The proof gives an explicit construction, using Δ-filtered modules of quasi-hereditary algebras arising from quotients of the double of quivers of type A. An example of a seaweed Lie algebra in a simple Lie algebra of type E 8 not admitting an open orbit in its nilpotent radical is given.

For a given quiver and dimension vector, Kac has shown that there is exactly one indecomposable representation up to isomorphism if and only if this dimension vector is a positive real root. However, it is not clear how to compute these indecomposable representations in an explicit and minimal way, and the properties of these representations are mostly unknown. In this note we study representations of a particular wild quiver. We define operations which act on representations of this quiver, and using these operations we construct indecomposable representations for positive real roots, compute their endomorphism rings and show that these representations are tree representations. The operations correspond to the fundamental reflections in the Weyl group of the quiver. Our results are independent of the characteristic of the field.

A Hecke endomorphism algebra is a natural generalisation of the q -Schur algebra associated with the symmetric group to a Coxeter group . For Weyl groups, B. Parshall, L. Scott and the first author [9] , [10] investigated the stratification structure of these algebras in order to seek applications to representations of finite groups of Lie type. In this paper we investigate the presentation problem for Hecke endomorphism algebras associated with arbitrary Coxeter groups. Our approach is to present such algebras by quivers with relations. If R is the localisation of Z [ q ] at the polynomials with the constant term 1, the algebra can simply be defined by the so-called idempotent , sandwich and extended braid relations. As applications of this result, we first obtain a presentation of the 0-Hecke endomorphism algebra over Z and then develop an algorithm for presenting the Hecke endomorphism algebras over Z [ q ] by finding torsion relations. As examples, we determine the torsion relations required for all rank 2 groups and the symmetric group S 4 .

We study the flatness for the moment map associated to the cotangent bundle of the space of representations of a quiver Q. If the associated moment map of a root is flat, then we call the root a flat root. We first study the flat roots in the fundamental set of a quiver Q. Then we give an explicit description of all the flat roots of Q. This description is obtained by using the natural class of ( − 1 ) -reflections, which are introduced in this paper. We also show that there are only a finite number of flat roots in each orbit under the Weyl-group of the quiver Q.

In an earlier paper we defined a relation ≤Δ between objects of the derived category of bounded complexes of modules over a finite dimensional algebra over an algebraically closed field. This relation was shown to be equivalent to the topologically defined degeneration order in a certain space [Formula: see text] for derived categories. This space was defined as a natural generalization of varieties for modules. We remark that this relation ≤Δ is defined for any triangulated category and show that under some finiteness assumptions on the triangulated category ≤Δ is always a partial order.

Let A be a finite dimensional algebra over an algebraically closed field k and let M and N be two complexes in the bounded derived category Db(A) of finitely generated A-modules. Together with Alexander Zimmermann we have defined a notion of degeneration for derived categories. We say that M degenerates to N if there is a complex Z and an exact triangle N→M⊕Z→Z→N[1]. In this paper we define and study the type of singularity at every degeneration in the bounded derived categrory.

This paper firstly established mathematical model of height adjusting hydro cylinder of the shearer, as well as the state space equation of the shearer height adjusting system. Secondly we designed a shearer automatic height adjusting controller adopting the sliding mode robustness control strategy. The height adjusting controller includes the sliding mode surface switching function based on Ackermann formula, as well as sliding mode control function with the improved butterworth filter. Then simulation of the height adjustment controller shows that the sliding mode robustness control solves buffeting of typical controller, and achieves automatic control for the rolling drum of the shearer. According to the characteristics and demands of metro stray current corrosion monitoring and protection, the monitoring parameters are reasonably selected and on-line monitoring methods of various parameters are analyzed. Data fusion model is established to make the data more reliability and accurate. The data fusion methods for measurements of stationary potential of reference electrode and rail potential are proposed and verified with the testing data. The result shows that the data fusion method can make the monitoring data more reasonable and effective, and it is important for the overall comprehensive analysis of metro stray current corrosion.

We consider filtrations of objects in an abelian category $\catA$ induced by a tilting object $T$ of homological dimension at most two. We define three disjoint subcategories with no maps between them in one direction, such that each object has a unique filtation with factors in these categories. This filtration coincides with the the classical two-step filtration induced by torsion pairs in dimension one. We also give a refined filtration, using the derived equivalence between the derived categories of $\catA$ and the module category of $End_\catA (T)^{op}$. The control of hydraulic servo system is the control key to automatic horizon device of memory-cutting shear. The radial basis function (RBF) hierarchical neural network (RBFHNN) is presented to control the hydraulic servo system of automatic horizon device of memory-cutting shearer. The RBFHNN can identify the sensitivity of the hydraulic servo system in real time in the learning phase, and can make the hydraulic horizon device rapidly track the roof curve of the last cycle as feed-forward controller in the control phase. The simulation results for the hydraulic servo system of shearer horizon device show the control system based on the RBFHNN is faster, and has higher accuracy and better stability.
