Abstract The evidence for the association between the triglyceride (TG) to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c) ratio and the risk of developing microalbuminuria is still limited in the Chinese population. Therefore, our research will endeavor to explore the relationship between the two. The cross-sectional survey enrolled 32,877 general population from eight regional centers in China. If the urinary albumin-creatinine ratio (UACR) ≥ 30 mg/g, it was considered microalbuminuria. The dependent variable in the study was microalbuminuria, while the independent variable was the TG/HDL-c ratio. A binary logistic regression model was utilized to examine the independent association between the likelihood of microalbuminuria and the TG/HDL-c ratio. A generalized additive model (GAM) and spline smoothing were employed to investigate non-linear relationships between these two variables. To confirm the findings and pinpoint important turning points, subgroup and threshold effect tests were performed. The average age of the study participants was 57.67 ± 9.29 years, with 22,052 (67%) females and 10,825 (33%) males. The ratio of TG/HDL-c had a median value of 1.06, while the UACR had a median value of 9.92 mg/g. The prevalence of microalbuminuria was 14.4%. Following covariate adjustment, the prevalence of microalbuminuria and the TG/HDL-c ratio showed a significant positive connection (OR = 1.17,95% CI 1.13–1.21). Interestingly, we discovered a non-linear relationship between the occurrence of microalbuminuria and the TG/HDL-c ratio. At a TG/HDL-c ratio of 0.911, we detected an inflection point, with ORs of 1.12 (95% CI: 1.08, 1.17) on the right side of the point and 1.89 (95% CI: 1.51, 2.36) on the left. Subgroup analyses further validated the results. Our research revealed a positive and non-linear connection between the TG/HDL-c ratio and the prevalence of microalbumin in Chinese individuals. The connection was especially robust when the TG/HDL-c ratio was below 0.911. Reducing TG or raising HDL-c levels in order to lower the TG/HDL-c ratio may significantly mitigate the risk of microalbuminuria.

Laser peen forming (LPF) is an appealing technique for forming metal sheets using high-energy, short-duration laser pulses. The deformation of the target metal plate is closely related to the magnitude and distribution of laser-induced residual stress. Consequently, the relationship between process parameters and residual stress is worth researching. In this research, two process parameters in LPF, laser energy and coverage ratio (spot distance essentially), and one workpiece parameter, plate thickness, were examined through an element method (FEM) of multiple square-spot laser shock peening (SSLSP). Corresponding experiments of SSLSP on aluminum alloy 2024-T351 test blocks were conducted, together with an X-ray diffraction (XRD) residual stress measurement and a surface morphology observation. The FEM simulation and experimental results show that congested laser spots had a significant influence on the magnitude of compressive residual stress; higher laser energy was beneficial to the depth of the compressive stress layer but could decrease its magnitude. Therefore, for better forming ability, higher laser energy and a higher coverage ratio are beneficial; for surface strengthening, laser energy should not be too large, and the coverage ratio should be larger than 100% to ensure that the residual stress on the treated surface is compressive, resulting in better surface integrity.

Abstract Background The cotton whitefly (Bemisia tabaci) is a major global pest, causing significant crop damage through viral infestation and feeding. Traditional B. tabaci recognition relies on human eyes, which requires a large amount of work and high labor costs. The pests overlapping generations, high reproductive capacity, small size, and migratory behavior present challenges for the real-time monitoring and early warning systems. This study aims to develop an efficient, high-throughput automated system for detection of the cotton whiteflies. In this work, a novel tool for cotton whitefly fast identification and quantification was developed based on deep learning-based model. This approach enhances the effectiveness of B. tabaci control by facilitating earlier detection of its establishment in cotton, thereby allowing for a quicker implementation of management strategies. Results We compiled a dataset of 1200 annotated images of whiteflies on cotton leaves, augmented using techniques like flipping and rotation. We modified the YOLO v8s model by replacing the C2f module with the Swin-Transformer and introducing a P2 structure in the Head, achieving a precision of 0.87, mAP50 of 0.92, and F1 score of 0.88 through ablation studies. Additionally, we employed SAHI for image preprocessing and integrated the whitefly detection algorithm on a Raspberry Pi, and developed a GUI-based visual interface. Our preliminary analysis revealed a higher density of whiteflies on cotton leaves in the afternoon and the middle-top, middle, and middle-down plant sections. Conclusion Utilizing the enhanced YOLO v8s deep learning model, we have achieved precise detection and counting of whiteflies, enabling its application on hardware devices like the Raspberry Pi. This approach is highly suitable for research requiring accurate quantification of cotton whiteflies, including phenotypic analyses. Future work will focus on deploying such equipment in large fields to manage whitefly infestations.

Current analysis of fragile bronzes mainly relies on the research of two-dimensional aspects such as sample cross-sections and surfaces while typically utilizing optical and electronic microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF). As a fast and nondestructive testing method, computer tomography (CT) can be used to characterize and detect the internal structures, corrosion conditions, and corrosion distribution of bronzes. This study used the CT imaging results of fragile bronzes to analyze, locate, and measure corrosion in fragile bronzes quickly and accurately, thus providing strong support for corrosion evaluation and protection research of fragile bronzes. The results verified the value and application prospects of CT technology in the protection of cultural relics.

Abstract Recent years have witnessed notable advancements in medical image segmentation through deep convolutional neural networks. However, a notable limitation lies in the local operation of convolution, which hinders the ability to fully exploit global semantic information. To overcome the challenges prevalent in medical image segmentation, the feature ensemble network with multi‐scale atrous transformer is proposed. At the core of the approach lies the multi‐scale contextual integration module, which is based on the multi‐scale atrous transformer and facilitates contextual integration of multi‐level features. To extract discriminative fine‐grained features of the target region, a hybrid attention mechanism that synergistically combines spatial and channel attention, thereby sharpening the model's focus on crucial target information within high‐level features, is incorporated. Additionally, the channel‐aware feature reconstruction module is introduced as an innovative component engineered to tackle feature similarity issues across different categories. This module performs feature reconstruction based on channel perception, effectively widening the feature gap between categories and enhancing the segmentation capability. It is worth mentioning that our approach surpasses the state‐of‐the‐art method using three benchmark datasets in medical image segmentation.

Abstract Background Macrophage-based cell therapy is promising in solid tumors, but the efficient acquisition of macrophages remains a challenge. Induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-induced macrophages are a valuable source, but time-consuming and costly. The application of reprogramming technologies allows for the generation of macrophages from somatic cells, thereby facilitating the advancement of cell-based therapies for numerous malignant diseases. Methods The composition of CD45+ myeloid-like cell complex (MCC) and induced macrophage (iMac) were analyzed by flow cytometry and single-cell RNA sequencing. The engraftment capacity of CD45+ MCC was evaluated by two transplantation assays. Regulation of c-Myc on MafB was evaluated by ChIP-qPCR and promoter reporter and dual luciferase assays. The phenotype and phagocytosis of iMac were explored by flow cytometry and immunofluorescence. Leukemia, breast cancer, and patient-derived tumor xenograft models were used to explore the anti-tumor function of iMac. Results Here we report on the establishment of a novel methodology allowing for reprogramming fibroblasts into functional macrophages with phagocytic activity by c-Myc overexpression. Fibroblasts with ectopic expression of c-Myc in iPSC medium rapidly generated CD45+ MCC intermediates with engraftment capacity as well as the repopulation of distinct hematopoietic compartments. MCC intermediates were stably maintained in iPSC medium and continuously generated functional and highly pure iMac just by M-CSF cytokine stimulation. Single-cell transcriptomic analysis of MCC intermediates revealed that c-Myc up-regulated the expression of MafB, a major regulator of macrophage differentiation, to promote macrophage differentiation. Characterization of the iMac activity showed NF-κB signaling activation and a pro-inflammatory phenotype. iMac cells displayed significantly increased in vivo persistence and inhibition of tumor progression in leukemia, breast cancer, and patient-derived tumor xenograft models. Conclusions Our findings demonstrate that c-Myc alone is enough to reprogram fibroblasts into functional macrophages, supporting that c-Myc reprogramming strategy of fibroblasts can help circumvent long-standing obstacles to gaining “off-the-shelf” macrophages for anti-cancer immunotherapy.

We present a novel approach to predicting the pressure and flow rate of flexible electrohydrodynamic pumps using the Kolmogorov–Arnold Network. Inspired by the Kolmogorov–Arnold representation theorem, KAN replaces fixed activation functions with learnable spline-based activation functions, enabling it to approximate complex nonlinear functions more effectively than traditional models like Multi-Layer Perceptron and Random Forest. We evaluated KAN on a dataset of flexible EHD pump parameters and compared its performance against RF, and MLP models. KAN achieved superior predictive accuracy, with Mean Squared Errors of 12.186 and 0.012 for pressure and flow rate predictions, respectively. The symbolic formulas extracted from KAN provided insights into the nonlinear relationships between input parameters and pump performance. These findings demonstrate that KAN offers exceptional accuracy and interpretability, making it a promising alternative for predictive modeling in electrohydrodynamic pumping.

PurposeThis study aimed to identify determinants of sleep quality and explore their adverse health outcomes among night-shift nurses in China.MethodThrough convenience sampling, this cross-sectional study enrolled a total of 711 night-shift nurses aged 20-55 years who completed questionnaires from which details regarding their sociodemographic characteristics, health-related indicators and sleep quality based on the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) were extracted. A generalized linear regression analysis was then created to identify factors influencing sleep quality. Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the relationship between sleep quality and chronic fatigue.ResultsThe prevalence rate of poor sleep quality among night-shift nurses reached as high as 90.1%. Our results showed that education level, years of working experience, quality of make-up sleep before and after night shifts, daily routine and diet were the primary factors affecting sleep quality (p < 0.01). Nurse fatigue had a significant positive correlation with subjective sleep quality, sleep latency, sleep duration, sleep disturbance, medications to sleep, daytime dysfunctions and global sleep quality (p < 0.01). However, nurse sleep efficiency had a significant negative correlation with fatigue (p < 0.01).ConclusionsHigher education level, longer working years, worse quality of make-up sleep before and after night shifts, daily routine and daily diet were risk factors for poor sleep quality among nurses. Poor sleep among night-shift nurses is strongly correlated with chronic fatigue.

ABSTRACT Background N6‐methyladenosine (m6A) modification is a widespread and reversible epigenetic alteration in eukaryotic mRNA, playing a pivotal role in various biological functions. Its significance in female reproductive development and associated diseases has recently become a focal point of research. Objective This review aims to consolidate current knowledge of the role of m6A modification in female reproductive tissues, emphasizing its regulatory dynamics, functional significance, and implications in reproductive health and disease. Methods A comprehensive analysis of recent studies focusing on m6A modification in ovarian development, oocyte maturation, embryo development, and the pathogenesis of reproductive diseases. Results m6A modification exhibits dynamic regulation in female reproductive tissues, influencing key developmental stages and processes. It plays critical roles in ovarian development, oocyte maturation, and embryo development, underpinning essential aspects of reproductive health. m6A modification is intricately involved in the pathogenesis of several reproductive diseases, including polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), premature ovarian failure (POF), and endometriosis, offering insights into potential molecular mechanisms and therapeutic targets. Conclusion The review highlights the crucial role of m6A modification in female reproductive development and related diseases. It underscores the need for further research to explore innovative diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for reproductive disorders, leveraging the insights gained from understanding m6A modification's impact on reproductive health.

Congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) is a group of autosomal recessive disorders related to adrenal steroid biosynthesis, and mainly caused by mutations in the CYP21A2 gene encoding 21-hydroxylase. Adrenal tumors are common in CAH, but functional adrenal tumors are rare. Here, we report a 17-year-old female with virilized external genitalia and primary amenorrhea, accompanied by a right adrenal tumor. Her 17-OHP level was normal, cortisol and androgen levels were significantly elevated, and the tumor pathology showed adrenal cortical adenoma. Gene testing for CYP21A2 showed c.518T > A in exon 4 and c.29313C > G in intron 2. The possibility of untreated classic CAH with 21-OH deficiency causing functional adrenal cortical adenoma should be considered. When clinical diagnosis highly considers CAH and cannot rule out the influence of functional adrenal tumors’ secretion function on 17-OHP, gene mutation analysis should be performed.

We investigated the effect of different fat sources on growth performance and intestinal health in weaned piglets. A total of 72 21-day-old weaned piglets were divided into 3 groups the CON group with 2.5% soybean oil, TRE1 with 2.5% emulsified balanced oil powder and TRE2 with 2.5% emulsified coconut oil powder. These two experimental oil powders were emulsified with the emulsifier (lysophospholipid). The average daily feed intake in TRE1 was significantly higher than that in CON (P < 0.05). The apparent total tract digestibility (ATTD) of ash in TRE1 was significantly higher than that in CON (P < 0.05). Compared with CON, TRE1 tended to improve ATTD of dry matter (P = 0.075), serum triglyceride (P = 0.062) and serum-free fatty acids (P = 0.090). The jejunal villus width of piglets in TRE1 and TRE2 was significantly increased (P < 0.05) and the duodenal crypt depth was significantly decreased (P < 0.05). Compared with CON, TRE1 significantly increased the mRNA expression levels of jejunal Occludin, Claudin-1 and ZO-1 (P < 0.05). From the results of the present study, we concluded that dietary supplementation of 2.5% emulsified balanced oil powder has more obvious effects on enhancing the growth performance of weaned piglets by improving lipid metabolism, intestinal tissue development and barrier function.

Abstract. Background:. Pulmonary embolism (PE) is a severe and acute cardiovascular syndrome with high mortality among patients with autoimmune inflammatory rheumatic diseases (AIIRDs). Accurate prediction and timely intervention play a pivotal role in enhancing survival rates. However, there is a notable scarcity of practical early prediction and risk assessment systems of PE in patients with AIIRD. Methods:. In the training cohort, 60 AIIRD with PE cases and 180 age-, gender-, and disease-matched AIIRD non-PE cases were identified from 7254 AIIRD cases in Tongji Hospital from 2014 to 2022. Univariable logistic regression (LR) and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) were used to select the clinical features for further training with machine learning (ML) methods, including random forest (RF), support vector machines (SVM), neural network (NN), logistic regression (LR), gradient boosted decision tree (GBDT), classification and regression trees (CART), and C5.0 models. The performances of these models were subsequently validated using a multicenter validation cohort. Results:. In the training cohort, 24 and 13 clinical features were selected by univariable LR and LASSO strategies, respectively. The five ML models (RF, SVM, NN, LR, and GBDT) showed promising performances, with an area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve (AUC) of 0.962–1.000 in the training cohort and 0.969–0.999 in the validation cohort. CART and C5.0 models achieved AUCs of 0.850 and 0.932, respectively, in the training cohort. Using D-dimer as a pre-screening index, the refined C5.0 model achieved an AUC exceeding 0.948 in the training cohort and an AUC above 0.925 in the validation cohort. These results markedly outperformed the use of D-dimer levels alone. Conclusion:. ML-based models are proven to be precise for predicting the onset of PE in patients with AIIRD exhibiting clinical suspicion of PE. Trial Registration:. Chictr.org.cn: ChiCTR2200059599.

Abstract Objective Based on the Omaha problem classification system, a sensitivity outcome index system for home nursing of elderly liver transplant patients was established. Methods Through a comprehensive literature review and rigorous application of the Delphi method, a panel of 20 experts completed two rounds of effective letter consultation to obtain expert consensus opinions. The contents of indicators were determined based on this process, and the analytic hierarchy process was employed to confirm the weightage assigned to each indicator. Consequently, we established a sensitivity outcome index system for home care in elderly liver transplant patients. Results The effective recovery rate of the questionnaire in two rounds of expert consultation was 100%, and the proportion of experts who gave opinions was 55% and 15%, respectively, indicating that the experts were highly active. The expert authority coefficients were calculated as 0.904 and 0.905, respectively, indicating a high degree of expert authority. Abstract Background Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a significant public health concern, and patient self-management is an effective approach to manage the condition. Mobile applications have been used as tools to assist in improving patient self-management, but their effectiveness in long-term outpatient follow-up management of patients with CKD remains to be validated. This study aimed to investigate whether using a mobile application combined with traditional outpatient follow-up can improve health outcomes of patients with CKD . Methods This retrospective cohort study recruited CKD patients with stage 1–5 who were not receiving renal replacement therapy from a CKD management center. Two groups were established: the APP + outpatient follow-up group and the traditional outpatient follow-up group. Baseline data was collected from January 2015 to December 2019, followed by a three-year long-term follow-up until December 2022. Laboratory data, all-cause mortality, and renal replacement treatment were then collected and compared between the two groups. Results 5326 patients were included in the study, including 2492 in the APP + outpatient group and 2834 in the traditional outpatient group. After IPTW virtualization matching, the final matched the APP + outpatient group consisted of 2489 cases (IQR, 33–55) and 2850 (IQR, 33–55) in the traditional outpatient group. IntroductionAggressive behaviors in the online gaming world are frequent and have far-reaching negative effects.MethodTo explore the factors and mechanisms of aggressive in games, we surveyed 945 university students using a framework of social dominance orientation, online disinhibition, moral disengagement, and aggression in gaming, and examined the moderating role of gender traits.ResultsWe found no direct relationship between online disinhibition and aggression in gaming; however, through the mediating role of moral disengagement, online disinhibition indirectly affected aggression in gaming behavior and enhanced social dominance orientation. Social dominance orientation predicted both moral disengagement and aggression in gaming behaviors, and the mediating effect of moral disengagement was confirmed through the indirect influence of moral disengagement on aggression in gaming behavior. Moreover, the moral disengagement mechanism significantly predicted aggression in gaming behavior. Furthermore, femininity and androgyny moderated both social dominance orientation toward moral disengagement and aggression in gaming, while masculinity and androgyny moderated the path from online disinhibition to social dominance orientation. Regarding the path from moral disengagement to aggression, all gender trait moderations were significant.DiscussionThis study reveals the role of the moral disengagement mechanism in the process of game-related aggression, providing theoretical support for the explanation of aggressive behavior, which applies to players of any gender. Moreover, this study confirms the moderating role of gender. Unlike biological sex, gender traits are malleable; androgynous traits offer greater adaptability in various environments. Thus, prevention and intervention efforts against online aggression should include strengthening moral education and properly guiding and fostering androgynous gender traits.

The tumor suppressor p53 is a transcription factor involved in a variety of crucial cellular functions, including cell cycle arrest, DNA repair and apoptosis. Still, a growing number of studies indicate that p53 plays multiple roles in spermatogenesis, as well as in the occurrence and development of male infertility. The representative functions of p53 in spermatogenesis include the proliferation of spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs), spermatogonial differentiation, spontaneous apoptosis, and DNA damage repair. p53 is involved in various male infertility-related diseases. Innovative therapeutic strategies targeting p53 have emerged in recent years. This review focuses on the role of p53 in spermatogenesis and male infertility and analyses the possible underlying mechanism involved. All these conclusions may provide a new perspective on drug intervention targeting p53 for male infertility treatment.

Chemicals are commonly dosed in sewer systems to reduce the emission of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and methane (CH4), incurring high costs and environmental concerns. Nitrite dosing is a promising approach as nitrite can be produced from urine wastewater, which is a feasible integrated water management strategy. However, nitrite dosing usually requires strict conditions, e.g., relatively high nitrite concentration (e.g., ∼200 mg N/L) and acidic environment, to inhibit microorganisms. In contrast to “microbial inhibition”, this study proposes “microbial utilization” concept, i.e., utilizing nitrite as a substrate for H2S and CH4 consumption in sewer. In a laboratory-scale sewer reactor, nitrite at a relatively low concentrations of 25–48 mg N/L was continuously dosed. Two nitrite-dependent microbial utilization processes, i.e., nitrite-dependent anaerobic methane oxidation (n-DAMO) and microbial sulfide oxidation, successfully occurred in conjunction with nitrite reduction. The occurrence of both processes achieved a 58 % reduction in dissolved methane and over 90 % sulfide removal in the sewer reactor, with microbial activities measured as 15.6 mg CH4/(L·h) and 29.4 mg S/(L·h), respectively. High copy numbers of n-DAMO bacteria and sulfide-oxidizing bacteria (SOB) were detected in both sewer biofilms and sediments. Mechanism analysis confirmed that the dosed nitrite at a relatively low level did not cause the inhibition of sulfidogenic process due to the downward migration of activity zones in sewer sediments. Therefore, the proposed “microbial utilization” concept offers a new alternative for simultaneous removal of sulfide and methane in sewers.

Abstract Objective This study aims to evaluate the feasibility and applicability of an online cervical cancer screening program using a website as the public platform and self-collected HPV testing as the primary screening method. Methods A website (mcareu.com) was developed to facilitate the online cervical cancer screening program by Peking University Shenzhen Hospital (PUSH). Women in Shenzhen could register for participation on the website by providing essential demographic data. Sampling kits and specimens were delivered through regular logistics. Eligible women collected vaginal samples by themselves using the provided kits and in referring of the graphic guidance. The specimens were tested for HPV at PUSH or a reference lab, and the results were accessible on the website through participants' personal accounts. Participants who tested positive for high-risk HPV were scheduled for colposcopy and biopsies. The demographic and social background data of the eligible participants were analyzed to evaluate the feasibility and applicability of the online screening approach. Results A total of 1712 applicants registered for participation, with 99.9% (1710/1712) completing registration with full data. The analysis included 1560 applicants aged 30–59, with an average age of 41.1 (± 7.6) years. Among them, 83.3% (1299/1560) provided self-collected samples for testing. Age-group analysis revealed an overall sample provision rate (SPR) exceeded 80% in all age groups. A significant difference in SPR was observed only between the 30–34 and 45–49 age groups (p

Background: More than half the domestic population in China were infected with COVID-19 in two months after ending “zero-infection policy”, which severely overwhelmed frontline healthcare providers with stress and fear. However, there is no study to date investigating the associations between nurses' fear of pandemic and cyberchondria. This study aimed to 1) investigate the correlations between fear pandemic and cyberchondria among frontline nurses, and 2) discover its potential mechanism. Methods: A cross-sectional sample of frontline nurses (N = 8161) was recruited from 98 hospitals across China in February 2023. Participants were invited to complete an online, self-rated standardized questionnaire focused on pandemic fear, alexithymia, psychological distress, and cyberchondria. Environmental, clinical and socioeconomic information were collected for adjustment while conducting chain mediation analysis. As climate-based catastrophes continue to seriously threaten human health and goods, natural resources, and ecological environments, we must act expeditiously to avoid more serious and irreversible consequences. Negative emission technologies (NETs) may inevitably be our best option in confronting this crisis. This study explores an aggregated strategy that provides a novel way in which to confront climate mitigation and resource preservation through carbon capture by phytomass storage and trading (CCPST). The CCPST process entails burying phytomass belowground or in deep ocean cavities where it can then be sold as a commodity in the form of futures (i.e., financial contracts), which would have little negative ecological or socioeconomic effects but provide enormous benefits to climate mitigation and resource preservation. Phytomass trading by issuing of phytomass futures for phytomass planting, collection, and storage would help to mitigate climate change and increase employment and investment incentives, which in turn would promote global economic growth as well as the health and welfare of humankind.

Objective This study endeavors to introduce the statistical process control (SPC) method to analyze the quality control index concerning red blood cells in additive solution with leukocytes reduced, with the aspiration to advance the effective utilization of blood quality control data, thereby providing empirical foundations for the continual enhancement of blood quality. Methods Between 2020 and 2022, test data pertaining to the quality control index of red blood cells in additive solution with leukocytes reduced were amassed from six blood stations in Chongqing area. Utilizing Minitab software, the SPC analysis was carried out, p-control charts were delineated, the non-conformance rates of each quality control index along with their 95% confidence intervals were computed, as well as the Process Capability Index (Z value). Results In accordance with the Whole Blood and Blood Components Quality Requirements, the appraisal of the quality control indexes for red blood cells in additive solution with leukocytes reduced manifested a conformity rate of 100% for appearance, end-of-storage hemolysis rate and sterility test. Nonetheless, the conformity rates for volume, hemoglobin, hematocrit and residual leukocytes did not attain 100%, albeit all were ≥75%. Through the employment of binomial distribution-based p-control charts, the controlled state of the production process was discerned. Although the overarching conformity rate satisfied the national standard stipulations, it was discerned that there were out-of-control points concerning volume, hemoglobin, hematocrit, and residual leukocytes across different institutions, exhibiting palpable trends. The non-conformance rates of all quality control indexes were less than 25%, yet at a 95% confidence level, the residual leukocyte counts from institutions B, C, E, and F did not adhere to the stipulations (exceeding 25%). By architecting the ability evaluation index Z value for count data process capability analysis, it was unveiled that the volume of institution E, the hematocrit of institutions B, C, and F, and the residual leukocytes Z values of all six blood collection and supply institutions were below 2, hinting at avenues for amelioration. Conclusion The SPC method anchored in binomial distribution exhibits substantial application merit in blood component quality management, facilitating real-time surveillance of blood collection, preparation, and storage procedures.

Objective To analyze the overall situation and main influencing factors of adverse reactions of blood donation of apheresis platelet donors in China by systematic review, and to provide basis for preventing and controlling adverse reactions of platelet donation and improving the quality of blood donation service. Methods CNKI, VIP, Wanfang Data, Pubmed and Embase databases were searched to collect cross-section studies on adverse reactions of platelet donation in China. The observation period was ≥6 months, and the retrieval time was from 1998 to March 2023. The studies were independently screened by 2 evaluators according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data extraction and literature quality evaluation were carried out, and meta analysis was performed by Stata 14.0 software. Results A total of 91 literature involving 585 769 apheresis platelet donors were included, and 9 102 of them had adverse reactions. Random effect model meta-analysis showed that the total incidence of adverse reactions of platelet donation was 2.65% [95% CI(2.04, 3.45), P0.01). The incidence of adverse reactions of blood donation for first-time donors and repeat donors was 2.16% [(95%CI (1.18, 3.95)] and 1.12% [(95% CI(0.35, 3.58)], with the former higher than the latter(P0.01). Conclusion It′s suggested to unify the monitoring standards of adverse reactions of apheresis platelet donation, understand and master the factors that affect the adverse reactions of apheresis platelet donors, so as to improve the quality of apheresis platelet donation service and ensure the safety of donations.

Abstract Background This study aimed to investigate the interactions among three core elements of respiratory infection—pathogen, lung microbiome, and host response—and their avocation with the severity and outcomes of Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (MPP) in children. Methods We prospectively collected bronchoalveolar lavage fluid from a cohort of 41 children with MPP, including general MPP (GMPP) and complicated MPP (CMPP), followed by microbiome and transcriptomic analyses to characterize the association among pathogen, lung microbiome, and host response and correlate it with the clinical features and outcomes. Results The lung microbiome of patients with CMPP had an increased relative abundance of Mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP) and reduced alpha diversity, with 76 differentially expressed species. Host gene analysis revealed a key module associated with neutrophil function and several inflammatory response pathways. Patients with a high relative abundance of MP, manifested by a specific lung microbiome and host response type, were more prone to CMPP and had a long imaging recovery time. Conclusion Patients with CMPP have a more disrupted lung microbiome than those with GMPP. MP, lung microbiome, and host response interacts with each other and are closely related to disease severity and outcomes in children with MPP. Graphical Abstract

Abstract Objective To evaluate the feasibility of an internet-facilitated community model for cervical cancer screening using self-collected HPV testing as primary screening. Method A population-based cervical cancer screening program was conducted in the suburb of Shenzhen, China, from September 2014 to July 2017. Women with 25–60 years of age and no pregnancy were eligible for participation. Participants could register for screening by logging in a website by themselves or with the aids of local community workers. A unique barcode was issued to each applicant upon successful registration. After registration, women could get sampling kits from community screening site/study clinic, collect vaginal samples privately or in group, and provide their sample for Hr-HPV tests on Cobas4800 and SeqHPV assays. Testing reports were checkable through personal account for all participant and phone calls were given to all women positive of Hr-HPV. Participants positive of both or either the 2 assays were identified as the positives. The positives could return the study clinic for triage or search medical care in other clinics. Colposcopy directed or ramdom biopsies were performed on all positives who returned to the study clinics. Results A total of 10,792 community women registered for screening, among whom, 10,010 provided their vaginal samples for tests. 99.5% of the participants were confirmed to have correct personal identifiable information and samples, and 98.9% of them got HPV testing results from both or either assays. No adverse event was reported. Conclusion When self-collected HPV testing is used as the primary testing, the internet-based data platform facilitates the screening in registration, data collection, and data tracking, and increases the screening coverage. Internet-facilitated community model is promising to cervical cancer control and applicable in regions with variety of resources.

Abstract Certain intestinal microbiota alterations appear to positively correlate with tumorigenesis of CAC due to the disruption of the balance between the host and microorganisms. It is proven that blocking MyD88 signaling can prevent colitis-associated colorectal cancer (CAC) development in mice. We are aim to reveal the role of MyD88 signaling of maintaining colonic microbiota homeostasis for preventing CAC development. We here analyzed the landscape of gut microbiome in the mice model of AOM/DSS-induced CAC with MyD88 inhibitor treatment. PCoA revealed significant reduction in Lactobacillus load and increase in Escherichia load in the mucosal microbial composition of mice with CAC, compared with normal controls (NCs). Inhibitor-treatment led to almost undetectable Proteobacteria (Escherichia) and the retention of the dominance of Firmicutes and Bacteroidota (Muribaculaceae) in the mucosa. RNA sequencing analysis identified genes were up-regulated (Hp, SAA3 and IL-1F9) and down-regulated (CYP3A44, SLC30A10, GPNMB and OTC) in Inhibitor-treated mice (vs. CAC). Meanwhile, Inhibitor-treated mice had higher percentage of MUC2-positive area in colon sections (vs. CAC, which was less than NCs) by IF staining and decreased Escherichia in the mucus layer (vs. CAC) by FISH. And intestinal microbiota from mice with MyD88 inhibitor treatment could lessen the outcome of CAC by fecal microbiota transplantation. The development of CAC was involved in the increasing and ectopic Escherichia in the decreasing colonic mucus layer. MyD88 signaling blockade may maintain the host-microbiota homeostasis by up-regulating MUC2 production, increasing probiotics and their protective effects, and inhibiting the reproduction of Escherichia.

The exploration and advancement of feminism are vital for addressing critical issues such as social progress, equitable education, and healthcare access. This paper comprehensively examines the feminist movement’s impact on architecture over the past century, identifying key trends and significant areas to establish an academic foundation for feminist architecture. A literature review on feminism in urban planning, architecture, landscape design, and urban safety highlights the current research focus on feminist architectural development. Furthermore, this paper traces the evolution of feminist architecture through both purpose-driven and process-oriented approaches, exploring the interplay between feminist and modern architectural practices. It specifically examines the development of feminist architecture within the Chinese context from two perspectives: the influence of feminist thought on architecture and the evolution of gendered spaces within the “Residence and Courtyard” model. By comparing the internal logic of feminist architectural development in China and the West, this study investigates how geopolitical culture and regional differences shape the future trajectory of this field. Unlike traditional feminist architectural research, which often emphasizes women’s practices within specific feminist ideologies or focuses on visual culture and psychological interpretations of gendered spaces, this paper redefines the scope of feminist architectural studies through a comparative analysis of historical and contemporary contexts, and Eastern and Western perspectives, employing a systematic genealogical approach.

A method for measuring multi-joint finger trajectories is proposed using MediaPipe. In this method, a high-speed camera is used to record finger movements. Subsequently, the recorded finger movement data are input into MediaPipe, where the system automatically extracts the coordinate data of the key points in the finger movements. From this, we obtain data pertaining to the trajectory of the finger movements. In order to verify the accuracy and effectiveness of this experimental method, we compared it with the DH method and the Artificial keypoint alignment method in terms of metrics such as MAPE (Mean Absolute Percentage Error), maximum distance error, and the time taken to process 500 images. The results demonstrated that our method can detect multiple finger joints in a natural, efficient, and accurate manner. Then, we measured posture for three selected hand movements. We determined the position coordinates of the joints and calculated the angular acceleration of the joint rotation. We observed that the angular acceleration can fluctuate significantly over a very short period of time (less than 100 ms), in some cases increasing to more than ten times the initial acceleration. This finding underscores the complexity of finger joint movements. This study can provide support and reference for the design of finger rehabilitation robots and dexterous hands.

Seed geometric parameters are important in yielding trait scorers, quantitative trait loci, and species recognition and classification. A novel method for automatic measurement of three-dimensional seed phenotypes is proposed. First, a handheld three-dimensional (3D) laser scanner is employed to obtain the seed point cloud data in batches. Second, a novel point cloud-based phenotyping method is proposed to obtain a single-seed 3D model and extract 33 phenotypes. It is connected by an automatic pipeline, including single-seed segmentation, pose normalization, point cloud completion by an ellipse fitting method, Poisson surface reconstruction, and automatic trait estimation. Finally, two statistical models (one using 11 size-related phenotypes and the other using 22 shape-related phenotypes) based on the principal component analysis method are built. A total of 3400 samples of eight kinds of seeds with different geometrical shapes are tested. Experiments show: (1) a single-seed 3D model can be automatically obtained with 0.017 mm point cloud completion error; (2) 33 phenotypes can be automatically extracted with high correlation compared with manual measurements (correlation coefficient (R2) above 0.9981 for size-related phenotypes and R2 above 0.8421 for shape-related phenotypes); and (3) two statistical models are successfully built to achieve seed shape description and quantification.

Abstract Background Many gaps remain in our understanding of the immune and molecular characteristics that underlie activated phosphoinositide 3‐kinase delta syndrome (APDS). Methods We performed RNA sequencing of peripheral blood leukocytes obtained from a child with APDS and his healthy parents and deconvoluted bulk transcriptional data to assess immune cell status. Results Pathway enrichment analysis suggested signaling pathways enriched in virus infection as well as the PI3K, mitogen‐activated protein kinase (MAPK), natural killer cell‐mediated cytotoxicity, and nucleotide‐binding oligomerization domain (NOD)‐like receptor signaling pathways. The proportion of B cells memory, T cells CD4 memory resting and dendritic cells activated were reduced, whereas B cells naïve, T cells CD8, NK cells resting, monocytes and macrophages M2 were increased in the child. Top 10 hub genes were screened and showed moderate to strong relatedness with immune cell proportions. Conclusion Deconvolution of bulk RNA sequencing to assess immune cells status can provide further insight into the alterations in immunological features underlying APDS and other rare diseases.

Efferocytosis of apoptotic neutrophils (PMNs) by macrophages is helpful for inflammation resolution and injury repair, but the role of efferocytosis in intrinsic nature of macrophages during septic acute kidney injury (AKI) remains unknown. Here we report that CD47 and signal regulatory protein alpha (SIRPα)—the anti-efferocytotic ‘don't eat me’ signals—are highly expressed in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from patients with septic AKI and kidney samples from mice with polymicrobial sepsis and endotoxin shock. Conditional knockout (CKO) of SIRPA in macrophages ameliorates AKI and systemic inflammation response in septic mice, accompanied by an escalation in mitophagy inhibition of macrophages. Ablation of SIRPA transcriptionally downregulates solute carrier family 22 member 5 (SLC22A5) in the lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated macrophages that efferocytose apoptotic neutrophils (PMNs). Targeting SLC22A5 renders mitophagy inhibition of macrophages in response to LPS stimuli, improves survival and deters development of septic AKI. Our study supports further clinical investigation of CD47-SIRPα signalling in sepsis and proposes that SLC22A5 might be a promising immunotherapeutic target for septic AKI.

ABSTRACT Purpose: Pre-eclampsia (PE) is a pregnancy-related complication. Eucommia is effective in the treatment of hypertensive disorders in pregnancy, but the specific effects and possible mechanisms of Eucommia granules (EG) in PE remain unknown. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects and possible mechanisms of EG in PE rats. Methods: Pregnant Sprague Dawley rats were divided into five groups (n = 6): the control group, the model group, the low-dose group, the medium-dose group, and the high-dose group of EG. The PE model was established by subcutaneous injection of levonitroarginine methyl ester. Saline was given to the blank and model groups, and the Eucommia granules were given by gavage to the remaining groups. Blood pressure and urinary protein were detected. The body length and weight of the pups and the weight of the placenta were recorded. Superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and levels of malondialdehyde (MDA), placental growth factor (PIGF), and soluble vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-1 (sFIt-1) were measured in the placenta. Pathological changes were observed by hematoxylin-eosin staining. Wnt/β-catenin pathway-related protein expression was detected using Western blot. Results: Compared with the model group, the PE rats treated with EG had lower blood pressure and urinary protein. The length and weight of the pups and placental weight were increased. Inflammation and necrosis in the placental tissue was improved. SOD level increased, MDA content and sFIt-1/PIGF ratio decreased, and Wnt/β-catenin pathway-related protein expression level increased. Moreover, the results of EG on PE rats increased with higher doses of EG. Conclusions: EG may activate the Wnt/β-catenin pathway and inhibit oxidative stress, inflammation, and vascular endothelial injury in PE rats, thereby improving the perinatal prognosis of preeclamptic rats. EG may inhibit oxidative stress, inflammation, and vascular endothelial injury through activation of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway in preeclampsia rats, thereby improving perinatal outcomes in PE rats.

BackgroundHyperuricemia is a common metabolic disorder linked to various health conditions. Its prevalence varies among populations and genders, and high-altitude environments may contribute to its development. Understanding the connection between blood cell parameters and hyperuricemia in high-altitude areas can shed light on the underlying mechanisms. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between blood cell parameters and hyperuricemia in high-altitude areas, with a particular focus on gender differences.MethodsWe consecutively enrolled all eligible Tibetan participants aged 18–60 who were undergoing routine medical examinations at the People’s Hospital of Chaya County between January and December 2022. During this period, demographic and laboratory data were collected to investigate the risk factors associated with hyperuricemia.ResultsAmong the participants, 46.09% were diagnosed with hyperuricemia. In the male cohort, significant correlations were found between serum uric acid (SUA) levels and red blood cell (RBC) count, creatinine (Cr). Urea, alanine transaminase (ALT), and albumin (ALB). Notably, RBC exhibited the strongest association. Conversely, in the female cohort, elevated SUA levels were associated with factors such as white blood cell (WBC) count. Urea, ALT, and ALB, with WBC demonstrating the most significant association. Further analysis within the female group revealed a compelling relationship between SUA levels and specific white blood cell subtypes, particularly neutrophils (Neu).ConclusionThis study revealed gender-specific associations between SUA levels and blood cell parameters in high-altitude areas. In males, RBC count may play a role in hyperuricemia, while in females, WBC count appears to be a significant factor. These findings contribute to our understanding of metabolic dynamics in high-altitude regions but require further research for comprehensive mechanistic insights.

Abstract Background During the COVID-19 pandemic, nurses' workload increased dramatically, and nurses faced the risk of infection and multiple ethical dilemmas. In such a situation, nurse burnout was elevated, which tended to exacerbate depression in nurses. Although previous studies have demonstrated the relationship between burnout and depression among nurses, the exact mechanisms remain unclear. Furthermore, environmental factors are also essential to a person's psychological health. Therefore, this study intended to investigate the potential mechanisms of depression caused by nurse burnout and whether burnout among frontline nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated its effect on depression in nurses as an environmental factor. Methods A total of 4517 nurses were enrolled in this study. A moderated mediation model was established to investigate the relationship between burnout and positive coping styles, interpersonal relationships, and depression utilizing the SPSS PROCESS 3.3 macro. The direct effect of burnout on depression was also investigated with the moderated mediation model. Results The indirect effects of positive coping styles (β = 0.04, 95% CI: 0.03 to 0.04) and interpersonal relationships (β = 0.12, 95% CI: 0.10 to 0.13) were revealed. Being a frontline nurse caring for COVID-19 patients moderated the direct effect of burnout on depression (β = 0.12, 95% CI: 0.08 to 0.16). Conclusion This study offers strong evidence for the mediating role of positive coping styles and interpersonal relationships in the relationship between nurse burnout and depression, in addition to illustrating the need for more psychological support for frontline nurses caring for COVID-19 patients.

Abstract Background With the development of the social economy, the effective coordination of the conflict between work and family has become an urgent problem for most parents. Such conflicts are especially acute in the families of nurses with children. Therefore, a timely understanding of the status quo of the parent-child relationship and associated risk factors among nurses will assist in improving their family harmony and the healthy growth of their children. Methods A total of 350 nurses with children at a general tertiary hospital in Sichuan Province, China, were interviewed using a structured questionnaire between June 23 and July 9, 2022. The results were analyzed by multiple linear regression using the stepwise method. Results The results showed that the parent-child relationship received a middle-level mean score of 77.74 (SD = 10.77). The factors that influenced the parent-child relationship among nurses included the parents’ character type (β = 0.143, P = 0.002), feeling tired due to dealing with patients (β=-0.150, P = 0.002), the nurse-patient relationship (β = 0.137, P = 0.004), the age of older children (β=-0.153, P = 0.001), number of children (β=-0.093, P = 0.041), sleep quality (β = 0.116, P = 0.014), and family adaptability (β = 0.308, P = 0.000); these factors accounted for 31.3% of the variance in parent-child relationships among nurses. Conclusion The findings of this study will help policy makers and nursing managers to better understand parent-child relationships in Chinese nurses. The results highlighted the importance of the creation of a family-oriented work environment while paying more attention to the parent-child relationships of nurses who are introverted and have more or older children. After busy workdays, nurses should also be encouraged to participate more in family decision-making and strategic parent-child interactions to avoid negative effects on children caused by work-related emotional exhaustion, physical and mental fatigue, and other reasons. The development of good parent-child relationships may help maintain both their and their children’s mental health while enhancing their enthusiasm for work and their professional identity.

A new theoretical-based constitutive model has been proposed in this study to concurrently predict the ageing and coupled creep-ageing behavior in both micro and macro ways of aluminum alloys under complex thermal and mechanical loading histories. The nucleation, growth and coarsening theories for age strengthening of aluminum alloys have been modified with the integration of dislocation-based theories raised by plastic or creep deformation to form the new theoretical-based creep-ageing modelling framework. Both the key microstructures (precipitates, solid solutes and dislocations) and macro properties (creep/stress-relaxation, yield strength and strengthening components) under various thermal and loading histories (e.g., single-step/multi-step isothermal and non-isothermal, pre-strain loaded) of a typical Al–Zn–Mg alloy have been effectively predicted and validated by the same set model. Furthermore, the capability of the developed model to reveal the detailed deformation and strengthening mechanisms with complex thermal and loading histories, and to assist the design of complex non-isothermal creep-ageing processes with optimization objectives of accurate shape and high strength in the formed alloys has been discussed and demonstrated.

The rapid spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic in over 200 countries poses a substantial threat to human health. Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), which causes COVID-19, can be discharged with feces into the drainage system. However, a comprehensive understanding of the occurrence, presence, and potential transmission of SARS-CoV-2 in sewers, especially in community sewers, is still lacking. This study investigated the virus occurrence by viral nucleic acid testing in vent stacks, septic tanks, and the main sewer outlets of community where confirmed patients had lived during the early days of the epidemic in Wuhan, China. The results indicated that the risk of long-term emission of SARS-CoV-2 to the environment via vent stacks of buildings was low after confirmed patients were hospitalized. SARS-CoV-2 were mainly detected in the liquid phase, as opposed to being detected in aerosols, and its RNA in the sewage of septic tanks could be detected for only four days after confirmed patients were hospitalized. The surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 in sewage could be a sensitive indicator for the possible presence of asymptomatic patients in the community, though the viral concentration could be diluted more than ten times, depending on the sampling site, as indicated by the Escherichia coli test. The comprehensive investigation of the community sewage drainage system is helpful to understand the occurrence characteristics of SARS-CoV-2 in sewage after excretion with feces and the feasibility of sewage surveillance for COVID-19 pandemic monitoring.

Accurately quantifying flora and their respective anatomical structures within natural ecosystems is paramount for both botanical breeders and agricultural cultivators. For breeders, precise plant enumeration during the flowering phase is instrumental in discriminating genotypes exhibiting heightened flowering frequencies, while for growers, such data inform potential crop rotation strategies. Moreover, the quantification of specific plant components, such as flowers, can offer prognostic insights into the potential yield variances among different genotypes, thereby facilitating informed decisions pertaining to production levels. The overarching aim of the present investigation is to explore the capabilities of a neural network termed GhP2-YOLO, predicated on advanced deep learning techniques and multi-target tracking algorithms, specifically tailored for the enumeration of rapeseed flower buds and blossoms from recorded video frames. Building upon the foundation of the renowned object detection model YOLO v8, this network integrates a specialized P2 detection head and the Ghost module to augment the model’s capacity for detecting diminutive targets with lower resolutions. This modification not only renders the model more adept at target identification but also renders it more lightweight and less computationally intensive. The optimal iteration of GhP2-YOLOm demonstrated exceptional accuracy in quantifying rapeseed flower samples, showcasing an impressive mean average precision at 50% intersection over union metric surpassing 95%. Leveraging the virtues of StrongSORT, the subsequent tracking of rapeseed flower buds and blossom patterns within the video dataset was adeptly realized. By selecting 20 video segments for comparative analysis between manual and automated counts of rapeseed flowers, buds, and the overall target count, a robust correlation was evidenced, with R-squared coefficients measuring 0.9719, 0.986, and 0.9753, respectively. Conclusively, a user-friendly “Rapeseed flower detection” system was developed utilizing a GUI and PyQt5 interface, facilitating the visualization of rapeseed flowers and buds. This system holds promising utility in field surveillance apparatus, enabling agriculturalists to monitor the developmental progress of rapeseed flowers in real time. This innovative study introduces automated tracking and tallying methodologies within video footage, positioning deep convolutional neural networks and multi-target tracking protocols as invaluable assets in the realms of botanical research and agricultural administration.

Background: Since the global outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), its rapid spread has had a dramatic impact on the physical/mental health of people of all ages, including lactating women. We chose to study whether COVID-19 affected breastfeeding of in China. Since there has been no relevant research on this topic in China our team planned to study this topic. Methods: The study population was drawn from the postpartum clinic of the Fourth People’s Hospital of Zigong City, Sichuan province, China, from 07/12/2022 to 01/04/2023. This group comprised lactating women who manually expressed their milk due to various reasons, rather than directly nursing their infants. The population was classified into two groups: the infected group and uninfected group, based on their current COVID-19 status. COVID-19 infection was defined as a positive result in either the COVID-19 nucleic acid test (reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction/polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR/PCR)) or the COVID-19 antigen test. We retrospectively assessed their breast milk production and infant growth and development over a subsequent 4-month period. Results: The study encompassed a total of 79 lactating women, comprising 45 in the infected group and 34 in the uninfected group. There was a statistically significant difference in the rate of breast milk production between the COVID-19 infected and uninfected groups (χ2 = 6.067, p < 0.05). Logistic regression analysis revealed an elevated risk of reduced breast milk production in the COVID-19 infected group compared to the uninfected group (odds ratio (OR) 3.163, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.248–8.017). After adjusting for confounding factors, the result remained consistent (OR 3.339, 95% CI: 1.134–9.833). Regarding the growth and developmental status of their infants, over the course of a 4-month follow-up period, breast milk production showed no significant adverse effects on their growth and development. Conclusions: Our retrospective study illustrated that COVID-19 infection can result in reduced breast milk production. In the short term, breast milk from infected mothers does not impact the height and weight gain of their infants, thus advocating for infected mothers to continue breastfeeding.

IntroductionEuropean Nursing care Pathways (ENP) is a professional care language that utilizes software to map care processes and utilize the data for research purposes, process control, and personnel requirement calculations. However, there is a lack of internationally developed terminology systems and subset specifically designed for the nutritional management of CKD. The aim of this study was to create a subset of the standardized nursing terminology for nutrition management in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD).Materials and methodsAccording to the guidelines for subset development, four research steps were carried out: (i) Translation of version 3.2 of the ENP (chapter on kidney diseases) and understanding of the framework structure and coding rules of the ENP; (ii) Identification of relevant six-dimensional nursing terms; (iii) Creation of a framework for the subset; (iv) Review and validation by experts.ResultsA subset for CKD nutritional care was created as part of this project, comprising 630 terms, with 17 causal relationships related to nursing diagnoses, 115 symptoms, 31 causes, 34 goals/outcomes, 420 intervention specifications and 13 resources, including newly developed care terms. All terms within the subset have been created using a six-step maintenance procedure and a clinical standard pathway for nutrition management in the SAPIM mode.Implications for nursing practiceThis terminology subset can facilitate standardized care reports in CKD nutrition management, which is used to standardize nursing practice, quantify nursing, services, guidance on care decisions, promoting the exchange and use of CKD nutrition data and serve as a reference for the creation of standardized subset of nursing terminology in China.

Water-related ecosystem services (WES) critical to anthropogenic-related water security are being severely degraded, primarily due to climate and land-use change. Clarifying future trends in WES (i.e., water yield and water purification services) will contribute to water resource sustainability. However, most existing studies are single case studies and rarely consider the combined impacts of climate change and land-use change on ecosystem services, resulting in patterns that cannot be adequately summarized. In this study, the “Annual Water Yield” module of the InVEST model was used to estimate water yield and the “Nutrient Delivery Ratio” module was used to analyze water purification services. In order to compare the impacts of different natural conditions and geographic locations on water ecosystem services, 17 typical watersheds throughout China were selected as study areas. Coupled scenarios were also considered when setting climate and land-use scenarios to predict prospective (2020–2100) evolutionary trends in WES. The response of WES under different scenarios was also assessed. Results show that climate change is more likely to affect water yield services than water purification services. The impact of land use on water purification services is more pronounced than its impact on water yield services. Climate change contributed > 90 % to water yields in 15 out of the 17 watersheds, contributed 79.4 % in the Hei River watershed, while only contributing 11.2 % in the Yarkant River watershed. The influence of climate change on total nitrogen (TN) output in eight of the watersheds was greater than that of land-use change, especially in the Min River and Mintuo River watersheds, for which the contribution was > 95 %. Furthermore, water purification services in nine of the watersheds were more affected by land-use change, especially in the Dongting Lake and Hei River watersheds, for which the contribution was > 95 %. The aim of this study is to assist in the planning of sound water resource measures while developing sustainable management strategies to help relevant water resource sectors cope with prospective risks and challenges.

Abstract Background Inflammatory response of central nervous system is an important component mechanism in the bladder pain of interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS). Exosomes transfer with microRNAs (miRNA) from mesenchymal stem cell (MSCs) might inhibit inflammatory injury of the central nervous system. Herein, the purpose of our study was to explore the therapeutic effects by which extracellular vesicles （EVs） derived from miR‐9‐edreched MSCs in IC/BPS and further investigate the potential mechanism to attenuate neuroinflammation. Methods On the basis of IC/BPS model, we used various techniques including bioinformatics, cell and molecular biology, and experimental zoology, to elucidate the role and molecular mechanism of TLR4 in regulating the activation of NLRP3 inflammasome in bladder pain of IC/BPS, and investigate the mechanism and feasibility of MSC‐EVs enriched with miR‐9 in the treatment of bladder pain of IC/BPS. Results The inflammatory responses in systemic and central derived by TLR4 activation were closely related to the cystitis‐induced pelvic/bladder nociception in IC/BPS model. Intrathecal injection of miR‐9‐enreched MSCs derived exosomes were effective in the treatment of cystitis‐induced pelvic/bladder nociception by inhibiting TLR4/NF‑κb/NLRP3 signal pathway in central nervous system of IC/BPS mice. Conclusions This study demonstrated that miR‐9‐enreched MSCs derived exosomes alleviate neuroinflammaiton and cystitis‐induced bladder pain by inhibiting TLR4/NF‑κb/NLRP3 signal pathway in interstitial cystitis mice, which is a promising strategy against cystitis‐induced bladder pain.

IntroductionMycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (MPP) may lead to various significant outcomes, such as necrotizing pneumonia(NP) and refractory MPP (RMPP). We investigated the potential of the peripheral blood neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) to predict outcomes in patients with MPP.Methods and materialsThis was a prospective study of patients with MPP who were admitted to our hospital from 2019 to 2021. Demographic and clinical data were collected from patient records and associated with the development of NP and RMPP and other outcome measures.ResultsOf the 1,401 patients with MPP included in the study, 30 (2.1%) developed NP. The NLR was an independent predictor of NP (odds ratio 1.153, 95% confidence interval 1.022–1.300, P=0.021). Abstract The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) brought a healthy crisis all around the world. It’s not only affected healthcare utilization, but also some disease’s incidence. We collected pre-hospital emergency data in Chengdu from January 2016 to December 2021, and studied the demand for emergency medical services (EMSs), emergency response times (ERTs), and the disease spectrum in the city proper of Chengdu as a whole. A total of 1,122,294 prehospital emergency medical service (EMS) instances met the inclusion criteria. Under the influence of COVID-19, notably in 2020, the epidemiological characteristics of prehospital emergency services in Chengdu were considerably altered. However, as the pandemic was brought under control, they returned to normal or even earlier in 2021.The COVID-19 pandemic had an effect on people's medical care-seeking behavior and the performance of prehospital emergency services. Although the indicators associated with prehospital emergency services eventually recovered as the epidemic was brought under control, they remained marginally different from before the outbreak.

Abstract Background Implicit rationing of nursing care can adversely affect patient safety and the quality of care, and increase nurses’ burnout and turnover tendency. Implicit rationing care occurs at the nurse-to-patient level (micro-level), and nurses are direct participants. Therefore, the strategies based on experience of nurses to reduce implicit rationing care have more reference value and promotion significance. The aim of the study is to explore the experience of nurses to reduce implicit rationing care, thereby to provide references for conducting randomized controlled trials to reduce implicit rationing care. Methods This is a descriptive phenomenological study. Purpose sampling was conducted nationwide. There are 17 nurses were selected and semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted. The interviews were recorded, transcribed verbatim and analyzed via thematic analysis. Results Our study found that nurses’ reported experience of coping with implicit rationing of nursing care contained three aspects: personal, resource, and managerial. Three themes were extracted from the results of the study: (1) improving personal literacy; (2) supplying and optimizing resources and (3) standardizing management mode. The improvement of nurses’ own qualities are the prerequisites, the supply and optimization of resources is an effective strategy, and clear scope of work has attracted the attention of nurses. Conclusion The experience of dealing with implicit nursing rationing includes many aspects. Nursing managers should be grounded in nurses’ perspectives when developing strategies to reduce implicit rationing of nursing care. Promoting the improvement of nurses’ skills, improving staffing level and optimizing scheduling mode are promising measures to reduce hidden nursing rationing.

Abstract Achieving controllable fine-tuning of defects in catalysts at the atomic level has become a zealous pursuit in catalysis-related fields. However, the generation of defects is quite random, and their flexible manipulation lacks theoretical basis. Herein, we present a facile and highly controllable thermal tuning strategy that enables fine control of nanodefects via subtle manipulation of atomic/lattice arrangements in electrocatalysts. Such thermal tuning endows common carbon materials with record high efficiency in electrocatalytic degradation of pollutants. Systematic characterization and calculations demonstrate that an optimal thermal tuning can bring about enhanced electrocatalytic efficiency by manipulating the N-centered annulation–volatilization reactions and C-based sp 3/sp 2 configuration alteration. Benefiting from this tuning strategy, the optimized electrocatalytic anodic membrane successfully achieves >99% pollutant (propranolol) degradation during a flow-through (~2.5 s for contact time), high-flux (424.5 L m−2 h−1), and long-term (>720 min) electrocatalytic filtration test at a very low energy consumption (0.029 ± 0.010 kWh m−3 order−1). Our findings highlight a controllable preparation approach of catalysts while also elucidating the molecular level mechanisms involved.

Abstract Homo sapiens chromosome 2 clone RP11-339H12 (AC010883.5) is a dysregulated long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) that has never been investigated in cervical cancer (CC). Thus, the potential function and molecular mechanism remain unclear. Our study explored the biological function of AC010883.5 to determine the underlying mechanisms in CC and provide potential therapeutic targets for improving the clinical treatment strategy. We used quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction to measure mitochondrial RNA levels and western blot to measure the protein levels of target genes. Further, we used Cell Counting Kit-8 and 5‐Bromo-2'-deoxyuridine incorporation assays to evaluate cell proliferation in vitro. Cell apoptosis was analyzed by flow cytometry. Cell invasion was analyzed by wound healing and Transwell migration assays was ued to analyze cell migration. Finally, the biological function and mechanism of AC010883.5 in CC growth were evaluated by in vivo xenograft assay. AC010883.5 was enhanced in CC tissues and cell lines, and enhanced AC010883.5 expression accelerated CC cell proliferation, migration, and invasion and induced epithelial–mesenchymal transition in vitro and in vivo. AC010883.5 also activated the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway by promoting phosphorylation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 (i.e., ERK1/2) and MAPK kinase 1/2 (i.e., MEK1/2). Blocking the MAPK signaling pathway could counteract the pro-proliferative, pro-migrative, and pro-invasive effects of AC010883.5 over-expression. We found that the lncRNA, AC010883.5, is an oncogenic molecule involved in CC tumor progression via dysregulation of the MAPK signaling pathway, implying that AC010883.5 could be a tumor progression and therapeutic response biomarker.

Abstract We present a near-real-time global gridded daily CO2 emissions dataset (GRACED) throughout 2021. GRACED provides gridded CO2 emissions at a 0.1° × 0.1° spatial resolution and 1-day temporal resolution from cement production and fossil fuel combustion over seven sectors, including industry, power, residential consumption, ground transportation, international aviation, domestic aviation, and international shipping. GRACED is prepared from the near-real-time daily national CO2 emissions estimates (Carbon Monitor), multi-source spatial activity data emissions and satellite NO2 data for time variations of those spatial activity data. GRACED provides the most timely overview of emissions distribution changes, which enables more accurate and timely identification of when and where fossil CO2 emissions have rebounded and decreased. Uncertainty analysis of GRACED gives a grid-level two-sigma uncertainty of value of ±19.9% in 2021, indicating the reliability of GRACED was not sacrificed for the sake of higher spatiotemporal resolution that GRACED provides. Continuing to update GRACED in a timely manner could help policymakers monitor energy and climate policies’ effectiveness and make adjustments quickly.

Abstract Background The postoperative length of hospital stay (PLOS) is an important indicator of surgical quality. We identified perioperative factors that affect prolonged PLOS (PPLOS) after laparoscopic colorectal cancer resection, which is the preferred surgical approach for colorectal cancer, the third most common cancer. Methods This study was a secondary analysis of a randomized trial (clinicaltrials.gov ID: NCT03160144) that included 280 patients who underwent laparoscopic colorectal cancer resection. The primary outcome was a PPLOS, defined as a PLOS that was longer than the median PLOS. Baseline, anesthetic, surgical, and postoperative management factors were included in the univariate and multivariate analyses to identify factors influencing PPLOS. Results The median PLOS was 10 days, and 117 patients had a PPLOS. We identified six influencing factors for PPLOS: preoperative pulse oxygen saturation
