10. Digital watermarking method based on context word prediction and window compression coding.

Abstract

To address the problems of limited number of substitutable words and low watermark extraction efficiency in the existing natural language digital watermarking methods, a creative method based on context word prediction and window compression coding was proposed. Firstly, the contextual semantic features of each word in the original text were automatically learned through a neural network language model, and then the candidate word set for each word was predicted, thus the number of substitutable words that could be utilized for carrying watermark information was expanded. Meanwhile, considering the difference of the semantic impact caused by the substitutions of candidate words at different positions, the watermark information was embedded into each window containing several words, and the selection of candidate words for watermark embedding was optimized by the similarity between sentences before and after performing word substitutions. Finally, a semantic-independent window compression coding method was proposed, which encoded each window as appointed watermark information in terms of the character information of words contained in the window. So that during watermark extraction, the dependence on the original context at the position of word substitution was eliminated. The experimental results show that the proposed method greatly improves the watermark extraction efficiency with high embedding capacity and text quality. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

14. Linguistic Steganography: Hiding Information in Syntax Space

Abstract

To enhance the embedding capacity, the existing linguistic steganography methods predominantly focus on the word or phrase level, with limited emphasis on the sentence level. Nevertheless, these approaches exhibit a deficiency in achieving an optimal balance between embedding capacity and semantic coherence. Moreover, compromised semantic coherence can potentially increase security risks. In this letter, we propose a novel sentence-level Steganography framework to Hide Information in Syntax Space (HISS-Stega) that enables larger embedding capacity while preserving better semantic coherence. Specifically, HISS-Stega builds a syntax-controlled paraphrase generation model to automatically modify the expression forms of the covertext, thereby augmenting the diversity of transformations. This enhancement contributes to the overall improvement in embedding capacity. Subsequently, a syntactic bins coding strategy is employed for successfully embedding secret information in the generated syntax space. Furthermore, HISS-Stega incorporates a semantic distortion function aimed at identifying the optimal syntactic structure for concealing secret information, thereby ensuring enhanced semantic coherence and mitigating potential security risks. The experimental results demonstrate that, in comparison to existing methods, HISS-Stega not only enhances the embedding capacity of each sentence but also maintains a high level of semantic coherence and anti-steganalysis capability.

29. CPG-LS: Causal Perception Guided Linguistic Steganography

Abstract

The current lexical substitution-based linguistic steganography primarily determines the substitutions by their linguistic suitability, overlooking the disparity in their capability against steganalysis. This oversight leads to the potential security risk by performing poor substitutions. To address this issue, this letter proposes a Causal Perception Guided Linguistic Steganography(CPG-LS) via elaborate and secure lexical substitutions. CPG-LS constructs a causal perception network by making full use of a trained CNN discriminator to assess the security of each original word in the cover text and its substitutable candidates for controlling the embedding of secret message. Particularly, the causal score of each word is comprehensively measured from two perspectives by the causal perception network, one is word saliency, and the other is anti-steganalysis capability. Finally, the selection of original words is explicitly guided by their causal scores for securely embedding secret message. As the causal score of a word decreases, the perturbation caused by modifying this word becomes smaller, leading to stronger anti-steganalysis capability and lower semantic distortion in the obtained stegotexts. The experimental results demonstrate that CPG-LS achieves better text quality and anti-steganalysis capability than existing similar methods.

Abstract

For protecting the copyright of a text and recovering its original content harmlessly, this paper proposes a novel reversible natural language watermarking method that combines arithmetic coding and synonym substitution operations. By analyzing relative frequencies of synonymous words, synonyms employed for carrying payload are quantized into an unbalanced and redundant binary sequence. The quantized binary sequence is compressed by adaptive binary arithmetic coding losslessly to provide a spare for accommodating additional data. Then, the compressed data appended with the watermark are embedded into the cover text via synonym substitutions in an invertible manner. On the receiver side, the watermark and compressed data can be extracted by decoding the values of synonyms in the watermarked text, as a result of which the original context can be perfectly recovered by decompressing the extracted compressed data and substituting the replaced synonyms with their original synonyms. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can extract the watermark successfully and achieve a lossless recovery of the original text. Abstract

Excessive power dissipation is one of the major issues in the testing of VLSI systems. Many techniques are proposed for scan test, but there are not so many for logic BIST because of its unmanageable randomness. This paper presents a novel low switching activity BIST scheme that reduces toggle frequency in the majority of scan chain inputs while allowing a small portion of scan chains to receive pseudorandom test data. Reducing toggle frequency in the scan chain inputs can reduce test power but may result in fault coverage loss. Allowing a small portion of scan chains to receive pseudorandom test data can make better uniform distribution of 0 and 1 and improve test effectiveness significantly. When compared with existing methods, experimental results on larger benchmark circuits of ISCAS’89 show that the proposed strategy can not only reduce significantly switching activity in circuits under test but also achieve high fault coverage.
