The water-lubricated bearing is mainly installed at the stern of the ship to support the rotation of the main shaft of the ship, which is an important component of the ship’s power plant. The rubber stave of the water-lubricated bearing acts as an elastic body, which can effectively suppress the rotational vibration of the rotating shaft and improve the shaft alignment effect. To monitor the operational status of the water-lubricated bearing at the stern of a ship, a design method of smart rubber stave for water-lubricated bearings is proposed in this article. According to the structure of the rubber stave, the packaging and protection form of the optical fiber, the forming process of the rubber stave, and the mechanical analysis were carried out to determine the distribution design principle of the fiber Bragg grating (FBG) in the rubber stave. Then, FBGs were packaged, protected, and implanted with an uneven distribution into the rubber stave to achieve force sensing in the bearing. With reference to the force state of the water-lubricated bearing during shipbuilding and ship operation, various types of condition monitoring tests were conducted on the smart rubber stave using an elastomer testing machine, which were to analyze the effects of load sizes, frequencies, and ambient temperatures. The tests showed that the FBGs in the rubber stave could monitor the static and dynamic loads of the bearing under the seawater environment or inland water environment below 30°C. This method can be used for the smart designing and online load condition monitoring of water-lubricated bearings.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a multifactorial condition involving the complex interplay of genomics, microbiota, immunology, environment, and personal behaviors, particularly diet.A case-control study in a tertiary referral hospital. Fifty patients with IBD and 50 controls without gastrointestinal diseases were enrolled consecutively from October 1, 2016, to December 31, 2017. Sociodemographic and Food Frequency Questionnaires (FFQs) were completed, and dietary risk factors for IBD were identified.Six major foods were associated with the recurrent incidence of IBD (p0.05): chili, fish, milk, nuts, eggs, and fruit. Logistic regression analysis revealed that eating chili and drinking milk more than three times weekly increased the risk of relapse, as did eating fish and nuts one or two times weekly. Eating fruit more than once weekly reduced the risk of IBD. Fish, seafood, vegetables, nuts, beef, and fruit, along with a history of food allergy, were associated with a high risk of clinically recurrent IBD. Dietary patterns featuring seafood and nuts also increased the risk of relapse.The consumption of chili, milk, fish, and nuts beyond moderate weekly frequencies increased the risk of IBD, whereas fruit consumption was consistently protective against IBD development. Relapse susceptibility was also associated with a history of food allergy. Thus, IBD risk management can involve more personalized and less restrictive dietary patterns, as well as the enforcement of weekly dose thresholds. Uncertainty remains regarding association differentials between ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD).

Human serum albumin (HSA) in blood serves as an important biomarker for clinical diagnosis, and fluorescence sensing method has attracted extensive attention. In this work, a small organic molecule probe, YS8, involving twisted intramolecular charge transfer (TICT) characteristic, was designed and investigated to detect HSA. YS8 kept silent state in fluorescence under physiological conditions, but the encapsulation of YS8 in the hydrophobic subdomain IB region of HSA inhibited the TICT state and produced a clear light-up fluorescent signal. Especially, YS8 was demonstrated to be an efficient fluorogenic probe to discriminate HSA from other proteins including the bovine serum albumin (BSA). Moreover, YS8/HSA complex could be applied in fluorescence imaging in living cells and is also useful in the study of artificial fluorescent protein (AFP).

Solute carrier family 34 member 2 (SLC34A2), a family member of sodium-driven phosphate cotransporters, has been reported to facilitate cell proliferation and tumor growth. However, the functional mechanism by which SLC34A2 promotes cell growth and cell cycle progression remains poorly understood. Here, we reported that SLC34A2 was overexpressed in CRC by analysis of TCGA and GEO datasets. A total of 45 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified from comparing SLC34A2-high or –low groups and functional enrichment analysis of these DEGs demonstrated that cell cycle pathway was enriched. Interestingly, we found a positive correlation between TMPRSS3 (transmembrane serine protease 3) and SLC34A2, which was confirmed by RT-qPCR and western blotting. Furthermore, TMPRSS3 was also upregulated in CRC tumor tissues compared to normal tissues. Patients with high TMPRSS3 expression had poor prognosis. Functionally, TMPRSS3 deficiency inhibited cell proliferation and colony formation in CRC cells. TMPRSS3 overexpression in SLC34A2-deficient cells antagonized siSLC34A2-mediated cell cycle inhibition by promoting cyclin E, cyclin A protein expression. Based on these results, our study suggests that SLC34A2 promotes cancer proliferation and cell cycle progression by targeting TMPRSS3 in colorectal cancer cells.

Background: Ginsenoside Rc is one of the cardinal bioactive components of Panax ginseng that has been studied for various biological activities. This study aimed to investigate the protective effects of ginsenoside Rc against acute cold exposure induced myocardial injury in rats.Methods: The rats were intragastrically administrated with ginsenoside Rc (10, 20 mg/kg) or vehicle daily for 7 days. One hour after the seventh-day administration, 3% pentobarbital sodium was used to anesthetize the rats. Rats of the control group were kept in room temperature (22 ± 1 ℃) and the other groups of rats were exposed to low ambient temperature (-15 ± 1 ℃) in a cold chamber for 6 h. Cardiac function was monitored and recorded as well. To evaluate the protective effects of ginsenoside Rc, we also measured myocardial specific enzymes (lactate dehydrogenase, aspartate aminotransferase and creatine kinase-MB) in plasma, whole blood viscosity (WBV), plasma viscosity (PV), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and hematocrit (HCT). The pathological changes of myocardium were observed through histopathological examination. The mRNA expression levels of TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6 were by real-time quantitative PCR analysis. And the expressions of silent information regulator1 (SIRT1), B-cell lymphoma-2 (Bcl-2), Bcl-2-associated X (Bax) and Procaspase-3 in heart tissues were measured by Western blot method.Results: Ginsenoside Rc alone had no effect on cardiac function, myocardial enzyme activities and hemorheology in normal rats. Compared with the model group, pretreatment with ginsenoside Rc significantly improved cardiac function, diminished myocardial specific enzymes release and decreased erythrocyte aggregation index. As a result, the pretreatment regulated abnormal hemorheology, attenuated myocardial histological changes and structural abnormalities, reduced the mRNA expression levels of cardiac inflammatory markers. Ginsenoside Rc also resulted in up-regulating SIRT1, Bcl-2 and Procaspase-3 expressions and down-regulating Bax expression.Conclusion: The current study suggests that ginsenoside Rc alleviates acute cold exposure induced myocardial injury in rats by inhibiting cardiomyocyte apoptosis via SIRT1 and reducing inflammatory response.

[Background and aims]NAFLD is a common chronic liver disease. The purpose of this study is to carry out a current large-scale epidemiological survey and analyse factors related to the incidence and the severity of NAFLD.[Methods]Three communities of Shanghai were selected by stratified random sampling in 2019.The residents older than 18 years old underwent medical history taking, physical examination, laboratory examination and liver ultrasonography examination. The prevalence of different degrees of NAFLD, the prevalence of metabolic factors, and factors associated with the severity of NAFLD was analysed. [Results]A total of 19250 subjects were enrolled. The total prevalence of NAFLD in Shanghai was 45.55%, 62.00% in males and 27.54% in females. Age, FLI, BMI, WC, ALT, AST, AKP, GGT, CR, FPG, UA, TC, TG and LDL in NAFLD patients were higher than those in non-NAFLD people. The distribution of NAFLD prevalence was different in different age groups. The prevalence of diabetes, obesity and hypertriglyceridemia in the NAFLD group were higher than that in the non-NAFLD group. In males, FLI, weight, WC, ALT, UA, TG, GGT and metabolic syndrome were positively correlated with the severity of NAFLD; while HDL was negatively correlated with it. In females, age, FLI, weight, WC, ALT, FPG, UA, TG, LDL, GGT, AKP and metabolic syndrome were positively correlated with the severity of NAFLD; while HDL was negatively correlated with it.[Conclusions]The prevalence of NAFLD in Shanghai is high. The distribution of NAFLD prevalence was different in different age groups. Many factors are related to the incidence of NAFLD and the severity of NAFLD.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) ranks the third leading cause of cancer death in the world and has a notably low survival rate. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are newly classed non-coding RNA (ncRNA) members that are capable of regulating gene expression at transcription or post-transcription levels. Recent studies demonstrate that some circRNAs are differentially expressed in HCC, and the deregulation of these circRNAs is associated with the clinical pathological and prognostic significance. They also play essential roles in HCC progression, and contribute to cell proliferation, migration, invasion and metastasis by targeting different microRNAs (miRNAs) and protein-coding genes. In this review, we concentrate on recent progress of some important circRNAs in HCC, with an emphasis on their deregulation, functions and regulatory mechanisms, and discuss their potential utility as diagnostic and/or prognostic biomarkers or therapeutic targets for HCC.

Guided by the principles of landscape ecology, taking the area of 50hm2 of a Town, as an example, four ecological control factors including cultivated land area, climate hydrology, topography and geomorphology and biodiversity are selected to analyze the characteristics of the ecological pattern under the guidance of each factor. With the expansion of the scale of town and village economy, population scale and land use scale, the situation of ecological security is not optimistic, which is mainly manifested in the shortage of water resources caused by water pollution, serious pollution of river water body, the single ecological landscape system, the lack of biodiversity and so on. The construction and optimization of water security and landscape ecological security pattern can solve the governance and optimization of water pollution and landscape environment, and meanwhile, we need to adapt to local conditions to develop the local dominant industry in order to synchronize ecological construction with ecological security. The optimization and construction of town and village ecological security pattern is a systematic project. We need to take the whole situation into account from point to surface, and provide some reference experience for the optimization and construction of rural ecological security pattern under the background of new-type urbanization. The research and construction of the ecological security pattern is the foundation of making a good plan for the new countryside and promoting the sound development of the town and village.

Background: This study aimed to investigate roles of Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4)/nuclear factor (NF)-κB signaling in triptolide (TPL)-induced sensitivity of pancreatic cancer cells to gemcitabine (GEM). Methods: In vitro, pancreatic cancer PANC-1 cells were treated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) to activate TLR4, TLR4-siRNA, GEM alone, or GEM plus TPL. In vivo, nude mice bearing PANC-1 cell xenografts were treated with GEM, TPL, or both. Cell proliferation was detected by MTT assay and Ki-67 staining. Apoptosis was assessed by flow cytometry and TUNEL assay. A double luciferase reporter gene was used to detect NF-κB activity. Results: The sensitivity of PANC-1 cells to GEM was reduced by LPS but enhanced by TLR4-siRNA. TPL inhibited expression of TLR4/NF-κB signaling components, which was reversed by LPS. The TPL+GEM group showed more apoptosis than the LPS+TPL+GEM group. Moreover, the activity of NF-κB and the expression of TLR4, p-p65 Survivin, CyclinD1 and Bcl-2 in the TPL+GEM group were lower than in the LPS+TPL+GEM group, whereas Bax expression was higher. The volume of transplanted tumors in the TPL+GEM group was lower than that in the TPL or GEM group. Phospho-p65, Survivin, CyclinD1 and Bcl-2 expression in transplanted tumors was lower in TPL+GEM group than in either single drug group. The Ki-67 staining score of the TPL+GEM group was lower and tumor cells apoptosis rate was increased when compared with TPL or GEM alone. Conclusions: TPL enhances the sensitivity of pancreatic cancer PANC-1 cells to GEM by inhibiting TLR4/NF-κB signaling.

In order to provide the theoretical basis for the Guangfeng medicinal yam( Dioscorea opposita) in field transplanting, the effect of PEG-6000 simulation drought stress on physiological characteristics of Guangfeng medicinal yam plantlets was studied.Using the method of spectrophotometer,the content of total chlorophyll,soluble total sugar, soluble protein and praline,as well as the activities of SOD,CAT and POD of Guangfeng medicinal yam plantlets were tested under PEG-6000 treatment.Under PEG-6000 simulated drought stress, with the increasing of drought stress and the extension of stress time, the total chlorophyll content of Guangfeng medicinal yam plantlets continued to decline, the content of total soluble sugar, proline and MDA of Guangfeng medicinal yam plantlets significantly increased, the content of soluble protein and the activities of CAT,POD and SOD of Guangfeng medicinal yam plantlets increased at first and then decreased.This study reveals the changes of physiological indices of Guangfeng medicinal yam plantlets under PEG-6000 simulation drought stress, which indicated that Guangfeng medicinal yam plantlets have certain drought tolerance.

In the context of wireless power transfer (WPT) technology, low allowable current density and large resistivity of conventional copper conductors limit the increments of primary current and transfer efficiency. A new WPT scheme using high temperature superconducting (HTS) primary can be well expected to develop various high-power and high-efficiency WPT devices. This paper investigates the critical current and temperature field features of a single-pancake coil wound by ReBCO tapes. The experimental and calculated results lay some technical bases for developing practical HTS WPT devices.

A new WPT scheme using high temperature superconducting (HTS) primary can be well expected to develop various high-power and high-efficiency WPT devices. This paper investigates the magnetic field and inductive voltage features of 3D FEM simulations of a sliding-type superconducting wireless power transfer system. The FEM results lay some technical bases for developing practical HTS WPT devices.

Structural design and comparison of two types of hybrid energy transfer pipelines (HETP) are presented for achieving long-distance transfer of chemical energy and electrical energy. The first high-capacity type HETP consists of one liquefied shale gas (LSG) channel inside and one liquefied nitrogen (LN 2 ) channel outside. And the second type HETP is formed by one LN 2 channel inside and one LSG channel outside. A high temperature superconducting (HTS) cable immersed in the LN 2 is applied to transfer DC power with nearly zero energy consumption. As a case study on “Sichuan to East Gas Pipeline Project”, conceptual design and performance comparison of two types of HETP schemes are discussed.

Background Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are considered to be the major factor in tumor initiation, progression, metastasis, recurrence and chemoresistance. Maintaining the stemness and promoting differentiation of these cells involve various factors. Recently, long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been identified as new regulatory factors in human cancer cells. However, the function of lncRNAs in colon CSCs is still unknown. Methods Primary colon cancer cells were maintained in serum-free medium to form spheres and CD133+/CD166+/CD44+ spheroid cells were selected using FACS technique. Then we detected growth curve, colony formation, invasion and migration ability, and tumorigenicity of CD133+/CD166+/CD44+ cells. LOCCS-siRNA and pcDNA-LOCCS plasmid vectors were constructed and transfected to evaluate impact of the lncRNA. We also performed dual luciferase reporter assay to verify the interaction of LOCCS and miR-93. Results The research explored lncRNA expression and the regulatory role of novel lncRNAs in colon CSCs. Using the stem cell markers CD133, CD166 and CD44, we found a subpopulation of highly tumorigenic human colon cancer cells. They displayed some characteristics of stem cells, including the ability to proliferate and form colonies, to resist chemotherapeutic drugs, and to produce xenografts in nude mice. We also found an lncRNA, LOCCS, with obviously upregulated expression in colon CSCs. Knockdown of LOCCS reduced cell proliferation, invasion, migration, and generation of tumor xenografts. Furthermore, microRNA-93 (miR-93) and Musashi-1 mediated the tumor suppression of LOCCS knockdown. Conclusions There was reciprocal repression between LOCCS and miR-93. Research on mechanisms suggested direct binding, as a predicted miR-93 binding site was identified in LOCCS. This comprehensive analysis of LOCCS in colon CSCs provides insight for elucidating important roles of the lncRNA–microRNA functional network in human colon cancer. Treatment of the unsymmetric disilane (SiH3) (SiMeBut2) (1) containing one Si–Si single bond with Pt(dcpe) (PEt3)2 (dcpe = Cy2PCH2CH2PCy2) in the ratio of 1:1 leads to a stable disilanylplatinum hydride complex {(SiH2) (SiMeBut2)}(H)– PtⅡ(dcpe) (2), which is one of the very few examples of bis(phosphine) (hydrido) platinum(Ⅱ) complexes bearing silyl ligands with Si–Si single bonds structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray analysis and multinuclear NMR spectroscopic studies.

The sulfonated mesoporous carbon (CMK-3-SO3H) prepared by functionalizing mesoporous carbon (CMK-3) via vapor transfer method has been explored for the removal and recovery of uranium from aqueous solutions. The influences of different experimental parameters such as solution pH, initial concentration, contact time and temperature on adsorption were investigated. The results showed that CMK-3-SO3H has the highest uranium sorption capacity at initial pH of 5.0 and contact time of 120 min, and the adsorption process could be better described by the pseudo-second-order model and Langmuir isotherm. Selective adsorption studies showed that the CMK-3-SO3H could selectively remove of U(VI), and the selectivity coefficients of mesoporous carbon in the presence of co-existing ions, Mg(II), Zn(II), Mn(II), Cu(II), Ni(II), Sr(II) and Hg(II) improved after functionalization.

Driven by three factors (the standards, user needs and technological progress), the concept of Green Cabling technology evolved into the cabling industry trends. With related international, national standards and technology development, Green cabling system design is the focus of this paper.

Aptamers are specific nucleic acid sequences that can bind to a wide range of nucleic acid and non-nucleic acid targets with high affinity and specificity. Nucleic acid aptamers are selected in vitro from single stranded DNA or RNA ligands containing random sequences of up to a few hundred nucleotides. Systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment (SELEX) was used to select and PCR amplify DNA sequences (aptamers) capable of binding to and detecting Listeria monocytogenes, one of the major food-borne pathogens. A simplified affinity separation approach was employed, in which L. monocytogenes in exponential (log) phase of growth was used as the separation target. A fluorescently-labeled aptamer assay scheme was devised for detecting L. monocytogenes. This report described a novel approach to the detection of L. monocytogenes using DNA aptamers. Aptamers were developed by nine rounds of SELEX. A high affinity aptamer was successfully selected from the initial random DNA pool, and its secondary structure was also investigated. One of aptamers named e01 with the highest affinity was further tested in aptamer-peroxidase and aptamer-fluorescence staining protocols. This study has proved the principle that the whole-cell SELEX could be a promising technique to design aptamer-based molecular probes for dectection of pathogenic microorganisms without tedious isolation and purification of complex markers or targets.

The phosphorylated hydrothermal carbon spheres (HCS-PO4) were developed by functionalizing hydrothermal carbon spheres (HCS) with o-phosphoethanolamine, and the structure and textural property were characterized by SEM and FT-IR. The parameters that affect the uranium(VI) sorption, such as solution pH, initial U(VI) concentration, contact time, and temperature, had been investigated. The HCS-PO4 showed the highest uranium sorption capacity at initial pH 6.0 and contact time of 120 min. The adsorption kinetics was better described by the pseudo-second-order model, and the adsorption process could be well defined by the Langmuir isotherm and the maximum monolayer adsorption capacity increased from 80.00 to 434.78 mg/g after phosphorylation. The thermodynamic parameters, ∆G° (298 K), ∆H° and ∆S°, demonstrated shown that the sorption process of U(VI) onto HCS-PO4 was feasible, spontaneous and endothermic in nature. The spent HCS-PO4 could be effectively regenerated by 0.1 mol/L EDTA solution for the removal and recovery of U(VI) and reused for ten cycles at least. Selective adsorption studies showed that the HCS-PO4 could selectively remove U(VI), and the selectivity coefficients of HCS in the presence of co-existing ions, Mg(II), Na(I), Zn(II), Mn(II),Co(II), Ni(II), Sr(II), Cs(I) and Hg(II) improved after functionalization.

With the application of information technology and the rapid development of information technology, the traditional data center faces tremendous challenges. Next-generation data center built adaptability and high availability computing environments through resource integration and management, virtualization, security and energy management technologies. It can solve data center costs of rapidly increasing prevalence, resource management increasingly complex information security challenges, and the energy crisis and other acute problems. Design and implementation of next-generation data center must follow from the overall situation, service-oriented, overall planning and construction of new principles.

Enterovirus D68 (EV-D68) is an emerging pathogen that recently caused a large outbreak of severe respiratory disease in the United States and other countries. Little is known about the relationship between EV-D68 virus and host cells. In this study, we assessed the effect of the host cell cycle on EV-D68 viral production, as well as the ability of EV-D68 to manipulate host cell cycle progression. The results suggest that synchronization in G0/G1 phase, but not S phase, promotes viral production, while synchronization in G2/M inhibits viral production. Both an early EV-D68 isolate and currently circulating strains of EV-D68 can manipulate the host cell cycle to arrest cells in the G0/G1 phase, thus providing favorable conditions for virus production. Cell cycle regulation by EV-D68 was associated with corresponding effects on the expression of cyclins and CDKs, which were observed at the level of the protein and/or mRNA. Furthermore, the viral non-structural protein 3D of EV-D68 prevents progression from G0/G1 to S. Interestingly, another member of the Picornaviridae family, EV-A71, differs from EV-D68 in that G0/G1 synchronization inhibits, rather than promotes, EV-A71 viral replication. However, these viruses are similar in that G2/M synchronization inhibits the production and activity of both viruses, which is suggestive of a common therapeutic target for both types of enterovirus. These results further clarify the pathogenic mechanisms of enteroviruses and provide a potential strategy for the treatment and prevention of EV-D68-related disease.

China needs to deal with climate change and air pollution. Both of them result from burning of fossil fuel. The Possible-Satisfiablity model is used to calculate optimum carbon emissions restrained by climate change and air pollution. The highest coordinate is (17.33, 0.41) in the P-S degree curves calculated under the restriction of climate change; while the highest coordinate is (10.84, 0.33) in the P-S degree curves under the restriction of environment. Environmental restriction on energy consumption and CO2 emissions is much stricter than the restriction of climate change.

This paper mainly introduces an optimal design of PI control based on compensation to eliminating the interference and improving the performance of the system. With the mathematic model of shunt APF in d-p rotating coordinate, simulation indicates that there is a period disturbing signal in the current closed loop of shunt APF based on the conventional PI control, which obviously impacts on the current tracking performance of the system. So a new PI control based on compensation is put forward. Through the simulation in the platform of Matlab/Simulink, it turns out that this method can improve the current tracking performance of APF and stable performance of the system.

Triptolide (TPL) inhibits the growth and proliferation of a wide range of human cancer cells, but the underlying mechanism is largely unknown. Here, we report that TPL induces apoptosis and inhibits proliferation of PANC-1 pancreatic cancer cells by downregulating cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). Cell viability and apoptosis were measured by MTT assay and flow cytometry. Real-time PCR and Western blot were used to examine the expression of COX-2 and VEGF. The Matrigel angiogenesis and Transwell migration were employed to assess tube formation and cell migration. Pancreatic cancer mouse xenografts were established to investigate the in vivo antitumor effects of TPL. TUNEL staining and immunohistochemistry were used to detect the apoptosis rate and protein expression in tumor tissues. TPL inhibited the proliferation of pancreatic cancer cells in a time and concentration-dependent manner and decreased the expression of COX-2 and VEGF in vitro. Furthermore, medium from TPL-treated PANC-1 cells inhibited the proliferation, migration, and tube formation of HUVECs. TPL significantly reduced the growth of pancreatic cancer mouse xenografts, accompanied by an induction of apoptosis, inhibition of angiogenesis, and reduction of COX-2 and VEGF. Our data indicate that suppressing the expression of COX-2 and VEGF may be one of the molecular mechanisms by which TPL induces apoptosis and inhibits the growth and angiogenesis of human pancreatic cancer cells.

The synthesis and characterization of N,N,O-chelate zinc enolate complexes and the catalysis of the complexes for the ROP of rac-lactide are reported. The pyrazole-based ligand precursors o-(3,5-Me2C3HN2)C6H4N═C(Me)CH═C(OH)R1 (R1 = Me, 1; R1 = Ph, 2; R1 = t-Bu, 3; R1 = CF3, 4)were synthesized by reaction of 2-(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)benzenamine with 1,3-diketones, including pentane-2,4-dione,1-phenylbutane-1,3-dione, 5,5-dimethylhexane-2,4-dione, and 1,1,1-trifluoropentane-2,4-dione. Treatment of 1–4 with ZnEt2 generated the N,N,O-coordinated zinc complexes [Zn(Et){o-(OC(R1)═CHC(Me)═N)C6H4(3,5-Me2C3HN2)}] (R1 = Me, 5; R1 = Ph, 6; R1 = t-Bu, 7; R1 = CF3, 8). Using industrial material and synthetic test instrument for the physical characteristics of slag, the effects of NaF on melting temperature, viscosity, fluidity, surface tension and Al2O3 inclusion adsorption of mould flux for thin slab continuous casting were studied. The results showed that with the increase of NaF content, melting temperature, viscosity and surface tension decreased obviously, and fluidity and Al2O3 inclusion adsorption increased. The effects of basicity on properties should be taken into account. NaF could play effective role when its content was less than 9%. The results would play a guiding role in designing of mould flux for thin slab continuous casting.

With the accelerated development of urbanization human’s activities are playing an increasing negative impact on ecological security of atmospheric environment especially for urban movement. In order to manage the statement of urban ecological security of air environment as well as its spatial and temporal trends, several measures and methods for resolving the issues are provided in the paper. An assessment system is established with 19 factors and 4 sub-systems based on the atmospheric environment characteristics of Changde through adopting the Pressure-State-Danger-Response (P-S-D-R) model. For guaranteeing the reliability of results two methods are used to determine the weight. The final assessment results indicate that from 2005 to 2009 the composite index for ecological security of atmospheric environment in Changde lies between 0.27-0.87 and the overall trend of quality for ecological security improves gradually which turns to fluctuate between less and more secure and the security threat is not avoided.

Poly（phenylene-sulfide）/ Poly（ether-sulfone） polymer composites (coded as PPS/PES) reinforced by Potassium Titanate Whisker(PTW) and Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) were prepared by compression molding. The effect of the filler on the mechanical and tribological properties of the PPS/PES composites was investigated, based on the evaluation of the composites’ properties and examination of the worn surfaces by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Results showed that the incorporation of the PTW contributed to greatly increase the impact strength，tensile strength，and bending strength of the composites, and apparently improve its tribological performance. The composite had a best synthetical performance when the PTW content was about 20wt. %. The wear mechanism of the composites，which could be closely related to the content of PTW, gradually changed from adhesive wear to particle abrasion with the addition of PTW.

In the paper, control principle and working characters of T－WRS&C（Taper Work Roll Shifting and Crossing）cold rolling mill are analyzed. The working schedule and control parameters are worked out. The mill working modes are determined according to different working conditions. The taper work roll shifting is used for edge drop control and the work roll crossing is used for thrust force control when work rolls shifting. The actual application verifies that the edge drop and thrust force can be controlled effectively during cold strip rolling.

Background: Recent evidence showed that Lactobacilli could exert an inhibitory effect on Helicobacter pylori both in vitro and in vivo models. To systematically evaluate whether adding Lactobacilli to H. pylori eradication regimens could improve eradication rates and reduce side effects during anti-H. pylori treatment. Materials and Methods: Eligible articles were identified by searches of electronic databases. We included all randomized trials comparing Lactobacilli supplementation to placebo or no treatment during anti-H. pylori regimens. Statistical analysis was performed with Review Manager 5.0.10. Subanalysis analysis was also performed. Results: We identified eight randomized trials (n = 1372). Pooled H. pylori eradication rates were 82.26% (95% CI = 78.01–86.51%) and 76.97% (95% CI = 73.11–80.83%) for patients with or without Lactobacilli by intention-to-treat analysis, respectively, the odds ratio (OR) was 1.78 (95% CI = 1.21–2.62). The occurrence of total side effects had no significant difference and were 30.84% (95% CI = 24.82–36.86%) and 42.24% (95% CI = 35.89%–48.59%) for two groups, the summary OR was 0.49 (95% CI = 0.24–1.02); However, Lactobacilli supplementation group had lower occurrence of diarrhoea, bloating and taste disturbance. Conclusions: Our review suggests that supplementation with Lactobacilli could be effective in increasing eradication rates of anti-H. pylori therapy for first-treated patients. Furthermore, Lactobacilli showed a positive impact on some H. pylori therapy-related side effects.

Pooled H. pylori eradication rates were 86.57% (95% confidence interval (CI) = 83.99–89.15%) and 74.44% (95% CI = 71.14–77.74%) for patients with or without lactoferrin by intention-to-treat analysis, respectively, the odds ratio (OR) was 2.26 (95% CI = 1.70–3.00); the occurrence of total side-effects was 9.05% (95% CI = 6.83–11.27%) and 16.28% (95% CI = 13.43%–19.13%) for groups with or without lactoferrin, especially for nausea, the summary OR was 0.15 (95% CI = 0.04–0.54). Conclusions: Our review suggests that supplementation with lactoferrin could be effective in increasing eradication rates of anti-H. pylori therapy, and could be considered helpful for patients with eradication failure. Furthermore, lactoferrin shows a positive impact on H. pylori therapy-related side-effects.

The influence of U(VI)-CO3 and Ca-U(VI)-CO3 complexes on U(VI) adsorption onto red soil and nanoscale zero-valent iron (NZVI) was investigated using batch adsorption and fixed-bed column experiments to simulate the feasibility of NZVI as the reactive medium in permeable- reactive barriers (PRB) for in situ remediation of uranium-contaminated red soils. The adsorption capacity (qe) and distribution constant (Kd) of NZVI and red soil decreased with increasing pH, dissolved carbonate and calcium concentrations, but the qe and Kd values of NZVI were 5-10 times higher than those of red soil. The breakthrough pore volume (PV) values increased with the decrease of pH, dissolved carbonate and calcium concentration; however, the breakthrough PV values of the PRB column filled with 5% NZVI were 2.0-3.5 times higher than the 100% red soil column. The U(VI)-CO3 complexes adsorbed onto the surface of red soil/NZVI (≡SOH) to form SO-UO2CO3(-) or SO-UO2 (CO3)2(3-). XPS and XRD analysis further confirmed the reduction of U(VI) to U(IV) and the formation of FeOOH on NZVI surfaces. The findings of this study are significant to the remediation of uranium-contaminated red soils and the consideration of practical U(VI) species in the natural environment.

AIM: To assess the prognostic value of c-Met status in colorectal cancer. METHODS: We conducted a search in PubMed, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library covering all published papers up to July 2014. Only studies assessing survival in colorectal cancer by c-Met status were included. This meta-analysis was performed by using STATA11.0. RESULTS: Ultimately, 11 studies were included in this analysis. Meta-analysis of the hazard ratios (HR) indicated that patients with high c-Met expression have a significantly poorer overall survival (OR) (HR = 1.33, 95%CI: 1.06-1.59) and progression-free survival (PFS) (HR = 1.47, 95%CI: 1.03-1.91). Subgroup analysis showed a significant association between high c-Met expression and poorer overall survival in the hazard ratio reported (HR = 1.41, 95%CI: 1.08-1.74). CONCLUSION: The present meta-analysis indicated that high c-Met expression was associated with poor prognosis in patients with colorectal cancer.

Three metal ion bridged self-assembled (SA) films of cis-di(thiocyanato)-bis(2,2′-bipyridyl-4,4′-dicarboxylate) ruthenium were fabricated and characterized by contact angle, UV spectra, cyclic voltammetry and XPS. Their photoinduced electron transfer properties (PETP) were examined. Among the titled systems, the highest steady anodic photocurrent of 1773–1843 nA/cm2 and the highest quantum yield of 3.2% were achieved. The effects of incident light intensity, bias voltage, and electron donor were also studied. The possible mechanism of electron transfer was proposed. The results reveal that different metal ion in SA films could affect significantly the photoinduced electron transfer property. Our experimental results clearly show that bridging metal ions can play both functional and structural roles in these self-assembled systems. This method of forming functional films can provide a new approach to regulate the property of similar systems.

A novel flow-injection method with chemiluminescence detection was developed for the determination of streptomycin residues in milk, based on the enhancement by streptomycin of the luminol-potassium periodate-Mn(2+) chemiluminescence system. The assay allowed analysis of streptomycin residues in whole milk samples ( approximately 3.5% fat) after sample work-up procedures. The limit of detection was 5.16 x 10(-9) mol/L for milk, and was far below the regulations of maximum residue limits (MRLs). The relative standard deviation (RSD) for 8.66 x 10(-8) mol/L streptomycin was 1.94% (n = 15) in milk. The results obtained for the assay of streptomycin residues in milk was comparable with those obtained by the official methods (ELISA) and demonstrated good accuracy and precision. The possible mechanism is briefly discussed.

A novel method was developed for the simultaneous determination of tetracycline antibiotic (TCA) residues such as oxytetracycline (OTC), tetracycline (TC), and metacycline (MTC) by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) coupled with chemiluminescence (CL) detection. The procedure was based on the chemiluminescent enhancement by TCAs of the potassium permanganate-sodium sulfite-beta-cyclodextrin system in a phosphoric acid medium. The separation was carried out with an isocratic elution using a mixture of acetonitrile and 0.001 M phosphoric acid. For the three TCAs, the detection limits at a signal-to-noise of 3 ranged from 0.9 to 5.0 ng/ml. The relative standard deviations for the determination of TCAs ranged from 3.1 to 7.4% within a day (n=11) and ranged from 2.2 to 8.6% in 3 days (n=9), respectively. The method was successfully applied to the determination of TCA residues in honey samples. The possible mechanism of the CL reaction was also discussed.

The monolayer dispersion of tungsten oxide on the surface of anatase has been studied by BET surface area measurements, X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier transformation infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and Raman spectroscopy. The results reveal that for the anatase supported tungsten oxide samples, tungsten oxide species can be highly dispersed on the surface of the support and the dispersion state of tungsten oxide species is strongly related to the loading amount of tungsten oxide. In addition, it is found that tungsten oxide can retard the anatase–rutile transformation. When the loading of WO3 is below its monolayer dispersion capacity, the onset temperature of the anatase–rutile transformation is strongly affected by the dispersed tungsten oxide. Crystalline WO3 appears when the WO3 loading is higher than the monolayer dispersion capacity but has little effect on the phase transformation of the samples.
