Abstract Objective To compare the treatment outcomes among percutaneous mechanical thrombectomy (PMT) with AngioJet, Catheter-directed thrombolysis (CDT), and a combination of both. Methods One hundred forty nine patients with acute or sub-acute iliac-femoral vein thrombosis accepting CDT and/or PMT were divided into three groups respectively: PMT group, CDT group, PMT + CDT group (PMT followed by CDT). The severity of thrombosis was evaluated by venographic scoring system. Technical success was defined as restored patent deep venous blood flow after CDT and/or PMT. Clinical follow-up were assessed by ultrasound or venography imaging. The primary endpoints were recurrence of DVT, and severity level of post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS) during the follow-up. Results Technical success and immediate clinical improvements were achieved on all patients. The volatile content in nitrile rubber was measured by halogen moisture meter and compared with the results obtained by the hot-roll method. The influence of different measurement conditions on the measured results of the halogen moisture meter was investigated. The results showed that using the halogen moisture meter, the volatile content in nitrile rubber raw rubber could be measured by both the preset drying time method and preset mass loss method. Under suitable conditions such as sample mass of 3 g, drying temperature of 110 ℃, preset heating time of 8 min, or preset mass loss of 1/140 mg/s, the measured results were consistent with the hot-roll method. This method reduced measure time, was easy to operate, and could be used to guide quickly actual production.

Abstract Introduction Bacterial vaginitis (BV) is a common vaginal disease. Vitamin E has been shown to reduce BV by enhancing immune function, but no studies have analyzed the relationship between vitamin E and BV at different BMIs and ages. Method This study used 2242 participants from four cycles of NHANES 1999–2006 in American. Participants' vitamin E levels were divided into four groups, and analyses such as study population description, stratified analysis, multiple logistic regression analysis, and curve fitting were performed. To perform data processing, the researchers used the statistical package R (The R Foundation; http://www.r-project.org ; version 3.6.3) and Empower Stats software ( www.empowerstats.net , X&Y solutions, Inc. Boston, Massachusetts). Result The concentrations of serum vitamin E were negatively correlated with the risk of BV, especially when vitamin E were at 1198-5459ug/dL with (OR = -0.443, 95%CI = 0.447–0.923, P = 0.032) or without (OR = -0.521, 95%CI = 0.421–0.837, P = 0.006) adjustment for variables. Abstract Aglaonema commutatum is a famous species in the Aglaonema genus, which has important ornamental and economic value. However, its chloroplast genome information and phylogenetic relationships among popular green cultivars of Aglaonema in southern China have not been reported. Herein, chloroplast genomes of one variety of A. commutatum and seven green cultivars of Aglaonema, namely, A. commutatum ‘San Remo’, ‘Kai Sa’, ‘Pattaya Beauty’, ‘Sapphire’, ‘Silver Queen’, ‘Snow White’, ‘White Gem’, and ‘White Horse Prince’, were sequenced and assembled for comparative analysis and phylogeny. These eight genomes possessed a typical quadripartite structure that consisted of a LSC region (90,799–91,486 bp), an SSC region (20,508–21,137 bp) and a pair of IR regions (26,661–26,750 bp). Each genome contained 112 different genes, comprising 79 protein-coding genes, 29 tRNA genes and 4 rRNA genes. The gene orders, GC contents, codon usage frequency, and IR/SC boundaries were highly conserved among these eight genomes. Long repeats, SSRs, SNPs and indels were analyzed among these eight genomes. Comparative analysis of 15 Aglaonema chloroplast genomes identified 7 highly variable regions, including trnH-GUG-exon1-psbA, trnS-GCU-trnG-UCC-exon1, trnY-GUA-trnE-UUC, psbC-trnS-UGA, trnF-GAA-ndhJ, ccsA-ndhD, and rps15-ycf1-D2. Reconstruction of the phylogenetic trees based on chloroplast genomes, strongly supported that Aglaonema was a sister to Anchomanes, and that the Aglaonema genus was classified into two sister clades including clade I and clade II, which corresponded to two sections, Aglaonema and Chamaecaulon, respectively. One variety and five cultivars, including A. commutatum ‘San Remo’, ‘Kai Sa’, ‘Pattaya Beauty’, ‘Silver Queen’, ‘Snow White’, and ‘White Horse Prince’, were classified into clade I; and the rest of the two cultivars, including ‘Sapphire’ and ‘White Gem’, were classified into clade II. Positive selection was observed in 34 protein-coding genes at the level of the amino acid sites among 77 chloroplast genomes of the Araceae family. Based on the highly variable regions and SSRs, 4 DNA markers were developed to differentiate the clade I and clade II in Aglaonema. In conclusion, this study provided chloroplast genomic resources for Aglaonema, which were useful for its classification and phylogeny.

ABSTRACTShiraia-like fungi, which are rare parasitic fungi found around bamboo, play an important role in traditional medicine. Their main active component, hypocrellin, is widely used in medicine, food, and cosmetics. By comparing strains with different hypocrellin yields, we identified a transcription factor (SbTF) in the hypocrellin biosynthesis pathway. SbTF from high-yielding zzz816 and low-yielding CNUCC C72 differed in its protein structure. Subsequently, SbTF from high-yielding zzz816 was overexpressed in several strains. This stabilised the yield in zzz816 and significantly increased the yield in low-yielding CNUCC C72. Comparing downstream non-essential genes between wild type and SbTF-overexpressing CNUCC C72 showed that SbMNF was significantly up-regulated. Therefore, it was selected for further study. SbMNF overexpression increased the hypocrellin yield in low-yielding CNUCC C72 and altered the composition of compounds in high-yielding CNUCC 1353PR and zzz816. This involved an increased elsinochrome C yield in CNUCC 1353PR and an increased hypocrellin B yield in zzz816 (by 2 and 70.3 times that in the corresponding wild type, respectively). This study is the first to alter hypocrellin synthesis to alter the levels of one bioactive agent compared to another. The results provide new insights regarding genetic modification and will help to optimise fungal fermentation.

We have previously reported that the expression of miR-34c-5p was up-regulated during acupuncture treatment in the setting of a cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury (CIRI), indicating that miR-34c-5p plays an important role in healing from a CIRI-induced brain injury. This study sought to evaluate the effects of acupuncture on miR-34c-5p expression and autophagy in the forward and reverse directions using a rat focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion model. After 120 minutes of middle cerebral artery occlusion and reperfusion, rats were treated with acupuncture at the ''Dazhui'' (DU20), ''Baihui'' (DU26) and ''Renzhong'' (DU14) points. Neurologic function deficit score, cerebral infarct area ratio, neuronal apoptosis and miR-34c-5p expression were evaluated 72 hr after treatment. The autophagy agonist RAPA and the antagonist 3MA were used to evaluate the neuro protective effects of autophagy-mediated acupuncture. We found that acupuncture treatment improved autophagy in the brain tissue of CIRI rats. Acupuncture reversed the negative effects of 3MA on CIRI, and acupuncture combined with RAPA further enhanced autophagy. We also found that acupuncture could increase miR-34c-5p expression in hippocampal neurons after ischemia/reperfusion. Acupuncture and a miR-34c agomir were able to enhance autophagy, improve neurologic deficits, and reduce the cerebral infarct area ratio and apoptosis rate by promoting the expression of miR-34c-5p. Silencing miR-34c resulted in a significantly reduced activating effect of acupuncture on autophagy and increased apoptosis, neurologic deficit symptoms, and cerebral infarct area ratio. This confirms that acupuncture can upregulate miR-34c-5p expression, which is beneficial in the treatment of CIRI.

The users are mainly patients, doctors and system administrators. Patients can register online and use mobile healthcare to pay online. They can also upload various physical indicators to record their daily health status. The establishment of health files is convenient for doctors to make health assessments and provide patients with medical consultation and medical health protection. Patients can also realize hospital navigation, intra-hospital navigation, and view various hospital inspection reports through the APP. The design of mobile medical service system is to design user behavior in the system based on the concept of service design. Therefore, in the process of system design, it is necessary to comprehensively consider service design principles and related factors, and propose behavior design principles that conform to service design theory. This study uses a mutual continuation care platform to implement seamless care for patients. Patients and medical staff can realize the continuation of the relationship and the continuity of information, and the patients can receive comprehensive guidance in a timely and effective manner. It can provide a reference basis for improving the continuity management and information management of patients in China, and provide reference value for the standardization and standardization of patients' continuation of nursing care standards and procedures.

In this work, four metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) including DUT-4, DUT-8, IRMOF-8, and MIL-140B were synthesized using 2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid as organic ligand and Al3+, Co2+, Zn2+, and Zr4+as metal centers, then coated on stainless steel wires as solid-phase microextraction (SPME) fiber coatings. Five aldehyde biomarkers (hexanal, heptanal, octanal, decanal, and nonanal) in exhaled breath of lung cancer patients were used as the target analytes, and extracted using four MOFs fiber coatings, followed by thermal desorption and quantitative analysis using GC–MS. The DUT-4 was found to be the most appropriate sorbent. The developed SPME-GC–MS method has large enrichment factors (877–1711), wide linear ranges (0.5–1000 μg L−1), and low detection limits (0.056–0.138 μg L−1). The relative standard deviation for six replicate cycles using one DUT-4 coated fiber were 2.0–7.7 % (intra-day) and 2.2–4.6 % (inter-day), respectively. The fiber-to-fiber reproducibility for three parallel prepared fibers was in the range of 3.7–13.7 % (RSD). The fabricated DUT-4 coated fiber can withstand at least 100 cycles of extraction/desorption/conditioning without significant loss of extraction efficiency and precision. The high enrichment factors of the DUT-4 coatings are attributed to the high specific surface area, unique porous structure, and abundant aluminum coordinated unsaturated metal sites of the DUT-4 material. Moreover, the 2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid has two benzene rings with a 180° orientation, which not only increases the hydrophobicity of the MOFs material to avoid water molecules occupying adsorption sites and helps to form a rigid skeleton structure with a large number of functional adsorption sites on the surface, thereby improving the enrichment factor of target analytes. Ultimately, the developed DUT-4 coated SPME fibers was sucessfully used for the analysis of exhaled breath samples, and the recoveries for the spiked analytes were in the range of 89–105 %.

Abstract It is a long-standing scientific controversy to achieve anti-Kasha-type multiple emissions by tuning the structures at a molecular level. Although it is known that some conjugated structures have excitation-dependent multiple emissions, no all-benzenoid molecules have yet been reported, the emissions of which originate from different excited states. Herein, we report the design of two symmetry-breaking heterogeneous carbon bisnanohoops that in solution become multiple fluorescent emitters with unusual anti-Kasha characteristics. This phenomenon can be spectroscopically and theoretically explained and will find applications in a wide range of sensing and imaging technologies.

Thermo-poro-mechanical responses along sliding zone/surface have been extensively studied. However, it has not been recognized that the potential contribution of other crucial engineering geological interfaces beyond the slip surface to progressive failure. Here, we aim to investigate the subsurface multi-physics of reservoir landslides under two extreme hydrologic conditions (i.e. wet and dry), particularly within sliding masses. Based on ultra-weak fiber Bragg grating (UWFBG) technology, we employ special-purpose fiber optic sensing cables that can be implanted into boreholes as “nerves of the Earth” to collect data on soil temperature, water content, pore water pressure, and strain. The Xinpu landslide in the middle reach of the Three Gorges Reservoir Area in China was selected as a case study to establish a paradigm for in situ thermo-hydro-poro-mechanical monitoring. These UWFBG-based sensing cables were vertically buried in a 31 m-deep borehole at the foot of the landslide, with a resolution of 1 m except for the pressure sensor. We reported field measurements covering the period 2021 and 2022 and produced the spatiotemporal profiles throughout the borehole. Results show that wet years are more likely to motivate landslide motions than dry years. The annual thermally active layer of the landslide has a critical depth of roughly 9 m and might move downward in warmer years. The dynamic groundwater table is located at depths of 9–15 m, where the peaked strain undergoes a periodical response of leap and withdrawal to annual hydrometeorological cycles. These interface behaviors may support the interpretation of the contribution of reservoir regulation to slope stability, allowing us to correlate them to local damage events and potential global destabilization. This paper also offers a natural framework for interpreting thermo-hydro-poro-mechanical signatures from creeping reservoir bank slopes, which may form the basis for a landslide monitoring and early warning system.

Background Recent studies have reported that helix B surface polypeptide (HBSP), an erythropoietin derivative, exhibits strong tissue protective effects, independent of erythropoietic effects, in a renal ischemia-reperfusion (IR) injury model. Meanwhile, the transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) superfamily member glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) demonstrated protective effect on podocytes in vitro. Using a rat puromycin aminonucleoside nephropathy (PAN) model, this study observed the renal protective effect of HBSP and investigated its renal protective effect on podocytes and mechanism related to GDNF.Methods Rats nephropathy model was induced by injection of 60 mg/kg of PAN via the tail vein. Rats in the PAN + HBSP group were injected intraperitoneally with HBSP (8 nmol/kg) 4 h before the model was induced, followed by intraperitoneal injections of HBSP once every 24 h for 7 consecutive days. The 24-hour urinary protein level was measured once every other day, and blood and renal tissue samples were collected on the 7th day for the examination of renal function, complete blood count, renal pathological changes and the expression levels of GDNF.Results Compared with the control group, the PAN nephropathy rat model showed a large amount of urinary protein. The pathological manifestations were mainly extensive fusion and disappearance of foot processes, along with vacuolar degeneration of podocytes and their separation from the glomerular basement membrane. Abstract Near‐infrared (NIR) chiroptical response has been less explored because it is challenging to achieve both chirality and NIR absorption/emission. Herein, we describe the design of heterohelicene‐type β‐isoindigo‐based boron‐dipyrromethene (BODIPY) analogs (β‐IBs), which shift the absorption peak to 800 nm and produce significant Cotton effects (127.8 M−1 cm−1) and absorbance dissymmetry factors (|gabs| = 3.5 × 10−3). The luminescence dissymmetry factor (glum) and circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) brightness (BCPL) of up to 1.24 × 10−3 and 1.78 M−1 cm−1 were realized beyond 800 nm. These β‐IBs are the first examples of helicene‐type compounds with the highest gabs in the NIR region and CPL beyond 800 nm. Theoretical calculations demonstrate that the strong chiroptical activities are triggered by their large transition magnetic dipole moments. This study not only provides a new approach to the synthesis of a larger variety of unprecedented helicene‐type BODIPY analogs but also demonstrates excellent NIR chiroptical properties.

Objective: The study established a nomogram based on quantitative parameters of spectral computed tomography (CT) and clinical characteristics, aiming to evaluate its predictive value for preoperative lymphovascular invasion (LVI) in gastric cancer (GC). Methods: From December 2019 to December 2021, 171 patients with pathologically confirmed GC were retrospectively collected with corresponding clinical data and spectral CT quantitative data. Patients were divided into LVI-positive and LVI-negative groups based on their pathological results. The univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to identify the risk factors and construct a nomogram. The calibration curve and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve were adopted to evaluate the predictive accuracy of nomogram. Results: Four clinical characteristics or spectral CT quantitative parameters, including Borrmann classification (P = 0.039), CA724 (P = 0.007), tumor thickness (P = 0.031), and iodine concentration in the venous phase (VIC) (P = 0.004) were identified as independent factors for LVI in GC patients. The nomogram was established based on the four factors, which had a potent predictive accuracy in the training, internal validation and external validation cohorts, with the area under the ROC curve (AUC) of 0.864 (95% CI, 0.798–0.930), 0.964 (95% CI, 0.903–1.000) and 0.877 (95% CI, 0.759–0.996), respectively. Conclusion: This study constructed a comprehensive nomogram consisting spectral CT quantitative parameters and clinical characteristics of GC, which exhibited a robust efficiency in predicting LVI in GC patients.

Abstract This study was designed to probe the effect of chaperone-assisted selective autophagy (CASA) on the maintenance of proteostasis during exhaustive exercise and uncover the alteration of CASA in muscle fibers with pre-high-intensity interval training (HIIT) intervention-induced muscle adaptation in response to exhaustive exercise. Rats were randomly divided into a control group; an exhaustive exercise group; and an HIIT + exhaustive exercise group. Results show myofibril damage and BiP levels were increased after exhaustive exercise, and the levels of the HSP70, BAG3, ubiquitin, autophagy-related proteins, and their interactions were increased. HIIT intervention before exhaustive exercise could decrease myofibril injury and BiP levels, accompanied by down-regulation of HSP70/BAG3 complex and selective autophagy. In conclusion, exhaustive exercise promotes CASA to clear protein aggregation for keeping proteostasis in muscle fibers; pre-HIIT intervention improves myofibril injury and unfold protein response caused by exhaustive exercise, which might contribute to inhibit the augmentation of CASA.
