This study aims to investigate the Pb2+ adsorption performance of the organic frameworks derived from Cladophora rupestris (CROF). The characterizations of CROF and Pb2+ adsorption process was analysed using SEM-EDS, LPSA, BET, PHPZC, FTIR and XPS. The results was showed that CROF was porous structure, had both macroporous and microporous properties. The particle size is normally distributed with a median diameter of 36.8 µm. PHPZC of CROF was 7.02. The CROF adsorption isotherms and kinetics closely matched Langmuir model and Pseudo-second-order(PSO), respectively, the adsorption behaviors can be classified as monolayer chemical adsorption. The maximum adsorption capacity (Qm) was 15.02 mg/g and 97% of the Pb2+ was adsorbed onto the CROF within 20 min. And the adsorption was exothermic, spontaneous and minimised randomness. Additionally, the biosorbent has outstanding Pb2+adsorption capability due to pore filling, ion exchange, Pb-πinteraction, and surface complexation between nitrogen and oxygen functional groups(OFGs and NFGs). CROF is economical and environmentally friendly and it can be used as an adsorbent to take Pb2+ out from waterbodies.

This study determined the mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of Chanodichthys mongolicus from China's Qiantang River and analyzed its phylogenetic history in the Subfamily Cultrinae. Next-generation sequencing was used to obtain the mitogenome of C. mongolicus, GenBank Accession Number MZ032228. The mitochondrial genome length of C. mongolicus from China's Qiantang River is 16,622 bp. The genome contains 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNAs, two ribosomal RNAs, and two central noncoding regions (the control region and the origin of light strand replication). Based on BLAST comparisons, the sequence identity of C. mongolicus MZ032228 from China's Qiantang River was 99.84% to that of Ancherythroculter wangi MG783573 from China's Nei River, 99.75% to C. mongolicus AP009060 from Russia's Black River. The phylogenetic analysis is consistent with BLAST comparisons in confirming that A. wangi MG783573 and C. mongolicus MZ032228 show a high genetic similarity. This study also confirms mitochondrial DNA heteroplasmy in C. mongolicus for the first time and documents 35 heterogeneous loci that were detected.

Atomic magnetometers operated in the spin-exchange relaxation-free (SERF) regime are the promising sensor to replace superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDs) in the biomagnetism field. The SERF magnetometer with compact size and good performance is crucial to the new generation of wearable magnetoencephalography (MEG) system. In this paper, we developed a compact and closed-loop SERF magnetometer with the dimensions of 15.0×22.0×30.0 mm3 based on a single-beam configuration. The bandwidth of the magnetometer was extended to 675 Hz while the sensitivity was maintained at 22 fT/Hz1/2. A nearly 3-fold enhancement of the bandwidth was obtained in comparison with the open-loop control. The implementation of the closed-loop control also greatly improved the dynamic range, enabling the magnetometer to be robust against the disturbance of the ambient field. Moreover, the magnetometer was successfully applied for the detection of human α-rhythm and auditory evoked fields (AEFs), which demonstrated the potential to be extended to multi-channel MEG measurements for future neuroscience studies.

Sulfonylurea (SU) is a commonly used antidiabetic drugs effective for type 2 diabetes mellitus. Previous studies have reported that the SU treatment could alter the serum free fatty acid (FFA) concentration in diabetic patients; however, their exact effects remain unknown.To assess the impact of SU on the FFA level in diabetic patients.A systematic literature search was conducted by consulting the PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library,A total of 13 studies with 2273 individuals were selected. Results indicated that FFA concentration increased slightly after treatment with SU (MD = 0.08, 95%CI: 0.03-0.12,SU treatment could increase the serum FFA concentration in diabetic patients. The fundamental underlying mechanism still needs further investigation.

This study developed and characterized 68 novel polymorphic microsatellite markers from black Amur bream Megalobrama terminalis by next-generation sequencing. Variability was tested on 36 individuals collected from Qiantang River, Zhejiang Province, China. The number of alleles per locus ranged from 2 to 13. Observed heterozygosity ranged from 0.028 to 0.944, whereas the expected heterozygosity ranged from 0.028 to 0.887. Polymorphism Information Content ranged from 0.027 to 0.862. Moreover, 53 microsatellites were in agreement with Hardy–Weinberg equilibrium. Twenty-eight pairwise tests in 33 microsatellite loci indicated linkage disequilibrium. These microsatellites are a valuable tool for further genetics studies of this species.

Objective To investigate the effect of a web-based educational intervention on changing female college students’ willingness and uptake of human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines, and factors associated with HPV vaccination acceptance in Western and Northern China. Methods A web-based cluster randomized controlled trial was conducted in Western and Northern China from February to May 2020. A total of 967 female freshmen were recruited from two universities through convenience sampling, stratified sampling (liberal arts or sciences), and cluster sampling. Eligible students were randomized into intervention and control group with a 1:1 allocation ratio. The intervention group received seven days of web-based health education regarding HPV and HPV vaccines, whereas the control group received non-HPV-related materials. All students were asked to complete a post-intervention questionnaire to measure their awareness, uptake, and willingness to receive HPV vaccination at 7-day and one-month intervals. The chi-square test and Student’s t-test were employed to examine the differences between the intervention and control groups for categorical and continuous data. Logistic regressions were used to analyze factors associated with vaccination intentions. Results Nine hundred forty-six female freshmen aged 18.99 ± 0.63 years were enrolled in the study, with 532 in the intervention group and 414 in the control group. Prior to the intervention, 63.8%, 66.3%, and 60.8% of students had heard of HPV, HPV-related diseases, and HPV vaccines, respectively. Only 2.2% of students reported being vaccinated, but 33.0% were willing to be vaccinated against HPV. After seven days of education, students in the intervention group exhibited higher awareness (p p p Conclusion Female college students’ HPV vaccination uptake is insufficient, and they have minimal detailed knowledge about HPV and its vaccines. Web-based health education on HPV vaccines is an easy, feasible, and effective way to improve the awareness and acceptance of HPV vaccination among female college students, but it has limited effect on HPV vaccination uptake.

Gallium nitride nanowires (GaN NWs) are commonly synthesized using harsh/toxic conditions (e.g., ultrahigh vacuum, high substrate temperature, toxic materials, etc.) or by catalytic conditions. In this work, GaN NWs were grown on graphite substrates by the direct reaction of Ga atoms with excited N plasma without the need for a catalyst. This was achieved using plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) under moderate vacuum conditions and temperatures below 900 °C. The GaN NWs consisted of polycrystalline nanostructures that appeared as pyramidal islands, with diameters from 90 to 200 nm and lengths from 4 to 20 μm. A model for the mechanism of nucleation and growth of the GaN NWs is proposed. The morphology and quality of the GaN NWs varied significantly depending on the fabrication parameters that were used. The mechanism behind the growth of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) based on the microwave plasma chemical vapour deposition (MPCVD) method is clarified. Herein, the influence of nitrogen (N2) and hydrogen (H2) concentration/flux on the CNT growing process has been systematically studied. First-principles calculations indicate that the reaction energy of the dissociative carbon obtained from CH4 is significantly decreased when plasma is utilised. Values of 2.87 (or lower) and 0.18 eV with the introduction of N plasma and H plasma, respectively, are lower than the 18.31 eV obtained for CH4 splitting without plasma assistance. This indicates that N plasma and H plasma could promote the growth of CNTs. Hence, a novel coupling enhanced mechanism for improved understanding of CNT growth is proposed. For the catalyst activity, N plasma helps to rapidly activate the catalyst, and H plasma maintains the activated state of the catalyst for longer. This model matches well with experimental results. Based on this mechanism, different morphologies of MWCNTs can be modulated, which could serve as a good supporter for sensor materials at room temperature.

Gallium nitride (GaN) nanowires (NWs) were grown on Si(100) substrates at different hydrogen gas flow rates, using plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition. The size and morphology of the GaN NWs could be modulated by controlling the hydrogen atmosphere. The diameters of the GaN NWs ranged from 53 to 221 nm, and their morphology transformed from a hexagonal prism to a triangular pyramid upon changing the hydrogen atmosphere conditions. The modulation effects originated from the competitive equilibrium between surface and interfacial diffusion induced by hydrogen in the vapor–liquid–solid growth mechanism. The photoluminescence spectra of the different GaN NWs may have originated from two metabolic peaks, which were closely related to their nanostructures. These findings provide a simple and convenient method to modulate the structure of GaN NWs and may further the application of GaN in nano-optoelectronic devices.

We consider the exponential stabilisation for a thermo-elastic system of type II with nonuniformly bounded external disturbances in the boundary control. We begin with finding feedback controls for the system without disturbances by Lyapunov function approach. Then, based on the resulting feedback control, we give new dynamic feedback control laws that make the system exponentially stable by tracking disturbances exponentially through a time-varying high gain observer. We apply the linear operator semi-group theory to prove the well-posedness of the resulting closed system. Finally, we prove that the solution of the closed-loop system can approach zero polynomially or exponentially by the Lyapunov function approach.
