Abstract: A novel 2D cobalt(II) coordination polymer comprising left- and right-handed helical chains, {[H2bpp][Co2(bpp)2(Hbtec)2(H2O)4]·(H2O)5}n (1) (bpp=1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)-propane and H4btec=1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylate), was prepared under hydrothermal conditions and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction method. Complex 1 provides suitable hydrophilic channel in which lattice water molecules accumulate, forming a (H2O)5 helicate, stabilized by anchoring to the host structure through hydrogen-bonding interactions involving alternating water molecules and the carboxylate oxygen atoms of Hbtec3− ligands. Abstract: A novel (CH3OH)(H2O)5 binary cluster is trapped in a photoluminescent silver(I) coordination polymeric host, [Ag2(bpp)2(H2O)(ssa)·4H2O·CH3OH]n (1, bpp=1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)propane, H2ssa=5-sulfosalicylic acid). The heterohexamer can be viewed as either a D 5 water pentamer with a dangling methanol molecule or a combination of D 4 tetrameric water and methanol–water heterodimer. This well-resolved heterohexamer may behave as a useful model helping us to further understand phase behavior of binary methanol–water system. The luminescent behavior of 1 was also discussed. Abstract: The ultrasonic reaction of Ag2O, bipy and H2aze gave rise to a novel Ag(I) mixed-ligand coordination polymer, namely [Ag(aze)(bipy)]·(H2O)3 (1) (bipy=4,4′-bipyridine, H2aze=azelaic acid). In 1, Ag(I) ions are linked by bipy and aze ligands to form a single two-dimensional (2D) undulated net with a (6,3) topology, incorporating Ag6(bipy)4(aze)2 windows of 22.58×11.06Å based on Ag⋯Ag distances. A pair of identical 2D single nets are interconnected via π⋯π stacking and unsupported Ag⋯Ag interactions to generate a 2D double-layered net. A discrete water hexamer composed of a new planar tetrameric water ring and two pendent water molecules is perpendicularly located in each hydrophilic cavity of the 2D bilayer and acts as a ‘glue’ to assemble adjacent 2D double-layered nets into a three-dimensional (3D) structure. Abstract: Layered nanocomposite PEG/WS2, intercalating oligomeric poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG6000) into the tungsten disulfide host galleries, was synthesized using the exfoliation-adsorption technique. X-ray diffraction revealed that the intercalated oligomer within the host galleries is in a double-layer arrangement with an interlayer expansion of about 8.8Å. The optimum conditions were explored to prepare the single-phase product with a composition of Li0.12(PEG)1.51WS2. Thermal analyses suggested that the resulting material shows good thermal stability, with the decomposition of the interacted oligomeric chains within the disulfide galleries occurring at around 258°C. Despite high conductivity of the host material, those of the PEG/WS2 nanocomposite were found to be high in the order of 1×10−2 Scm−1 at ambient temperature, resulted from the host guest–host charge transfers. In the centrosymmetric dinuclear title complex, [Cu2(C24H18N4O6)(C5H5N)2], the Cu(II) ions is tetra-coordinated by two O-atoms and one N-donor of the bridging terephthalo-hydra-zonate ligand and by one pyridine N atom, resulting in a nearly square-planar N2O2 coordination geometry with the Cu(II) ion 0.044 (2) Å out of the mean plane (r.m.s. deviation of 0.0675 Å) of the coordinating atoms.

In the title mol-ecular salt, C(5)H(7)N(2) (+)·C(8)H(5)N(2)O(7) (-), the 2-amino-pyridinium cation is essentially planar, with a maximium deviation of 0.015 (1) Å, while the 2-meth-oxy-carbonyl-4,6-dinitro-phenolate anion is slightly twisted away from planarity, with a maximium deviation of 0.187 (1) Å. Deprotonation of the hy-droxy O atom was observed. The cation and anion are connected by four bifurcated N-H⋯(O,O) hydrogen bonds, forming a mol-ecular proton-transfer adduct. The dihedral angle between the pyridinium ring in the cation and the benzene ring in the anion is 3.65 (6)°. Every adduct connects to six neighboring adducts by N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, yielding extended layers parallel to the bc plane. There is a weak π-π inter-action between the benzene rings of two neighboring anions; the inter-planar spacing and the centroid-centroid separation are 3.309 (1) and 3.69 (1) Å, respectively.

The Cu(II) atom in the title complex, [Cu(C(19)H(17)N(5)O(5))], is coordinated by two N atoms and two O atoms of one 2,2'-dihy-droxy-N(2),N(2)'-(3-hy-droxy-imino-pentane-2,4-di-yl)dibenzo-hydrazidate ligand, exhibiting a distorted square-planar geometry. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings in the oxime hydrazone is 7.62 (15)°. The molecular configuration is stabilized by intramolecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds. Pairs of centrosymmetrically related molecules are linked into dimers by two inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Each dimer is further connected to four neighboring dimers via four O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming an extended two-dimensional structure. The oxime O atom is disordered over two orientations in a 2:1 ratio.

In the title complex, [Mn(C(15)H(11)N(3)O(5))(C(5)H(7)O(2))(H(2)O)], the Mn(III) ion has a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. It is coordinated by a phen-oxy O atom, a hydrazine N atom and a carbonyl O atom of the 2-(2-nitro-phen-oxy)-N'-(2-oxidobenzyl-idene-κO)acetohydrazidate dianion, by two O atoms of the acetyl-acetonate anion and by the O atom of a coordinated water mol-ecule. In the crystal structure, complex mol-ecules are linked into centrosymmetric dimeric units through four inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving both H atoms of the coordinated water mol-ecule.
