Ozone is a strong oxidant and strong disinfectant that has a strong anti-pathogenic effect on bacteria, fungi, parasites, and viruses. Because of its high reactivity, strong permeability, low residue, and other advantages, the application of ozone is gaining more and more attention, and ozone has been widely used in water treatment, equipment disinfection, public scene disinfection, and other fields. The purpose of this review is to discuss the use of ozone technology for animal and plant protection that can be applied to agriculture, and to emphasize the need for further studies to determine the optimal concentration and application of ozone for different crops so that, in the future, ozone technology can be applied in agriculture to gain a significant competitive advantage and improve product safety.

Architectural coatings sold in market fall into many categories which mean different models and qualities. The research plans to differentiate different kinds of architectural coatings in quality using hyperspectral technology. Near-Infrared hyperspectral images of four kinds of architectural coatings (in a descending quality order of brand A, B, C, and D) in same color were acquired. The optimal wavelengths were selected at 1283 and 2447 nm to differentiate the four kinds of coatings through ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) method. The band ratio index of R₁₂₈₃/R₂₄₄₇ was built and the results were segmented into the corresponding coatings, and the accuracies of segmentation were compared with that from Maximum Likely Classification (MLC). The results indicated all J-M distances are more than 1.8 except between C and D; the lowest accuracy of 87.54% in segmentation and 95.63% in MLC were both from brand D, and others' accuracies all were over 90% in both ratio index and MLC. Therefore, the ratio index R₁₂₈₃/R₂₄₄₇ could be used to distinguish different kinds of architectural coatings. Also, the research could provide support for identification, quality acceptance, as well as conformity assessment of architectural coatings.

A multi‐channel system was developed for simultaneous monitoring of multiple environmental factors and electrical signals in greenhouse grown cucumber plants. Using this system, electrical signals in response to water stress were recorded in the laboratory and in the greenhouse. Application to the roots of a 30% polyethylene glycol 6000 solution (‐0.84 MPa water potential) caused a significant decrease in the amplitude of an electrical signal induced by a dark/light change. The amplitude of the mean value of the signal in the transition from dark to light (40–50 min at dawn) was used to reflect the status of the plant under water stress, at which time the soil water content was reduced to 27%. The system was able to provide a long‐term stable tool to measure and analyse changes in electrical signals in plants in response to environmental changes.

The present study investigated the effects of rotigaptide (ZP123) on the expression, distribution and phosphorylation of connexin43 (Cx43) in myocardial cell membranes in cardioversion of ventricular fibrillation (VF). A model of prolonged VF (8, 12 and 30 min) was established in mongrel dogs (n=8/group), following treatment with ZP123 or normal saline (NS control). A sham control was included. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was begun at the start of VF followed by defibrillation. Animals received a maximum of three defibrillations of increasing energy (70, 100 and 150 J biphasic shock) as required. The average defibrillation energy, defibrillation success rate, return of spontaneous circulation and survival rate were recorded. Cx43 and phosphorylated (p-) Cx43 expression in cardiomyocyte membranes was detected by western blot and immunofluorescence analyses. The resource of image noise is analysized in this paper. Considering the image fuzzy generated in the process of image denoising in spatial field, the image denoising method based on wavelet neural network with orthonormal bases is elaborated. The denoising principle and construction method of orthonormal wavelet network is described. In the simulation experiment, median filtering, adaptive median filtering and sym wavelet neural network with orthonormal bases were used separately in the denoising for contaminated images. The experiment shows that, compared with traditional denoising method, image denoising method based on orthonormal wavelet neural network improves greatly the image quality and decreases the image ambiguity.
