To observe the effect of muscle regions of meridians warm needling method plus pricking Jing-Well points for blood-letting in improving nail fold microcirculation in the patients with shoulder-hand syndrome (SHS) after stroke, and the effects on hemorrheology, calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) and serum substance P (SP). A total of 72 patients were randomized into an observation group and a control group by the random number table method, with 36 cases in each group. The control group was treated with physical rehabilitation training, and the observation group was treated with additional muscle regions of meridians warm needling method plus pricking Jing-Well points for blood-letting treatment. The treatment course lasted for 4 weeks. After treatment, the clinical efficacy of the two groups was compared. To compare the binocular vision status of patients pre- and post-cataract surgery, and to investigate the risk factors for patients who develop binocular vision anomalies post-surgery.A prospective study of patients (≥50 years) who elected to undergo bilateral cataract surgery was implemented. A comprehensive binocular vision test battery including stereopsis, ocular alignment, fusional vergence, vergence facility, near point of convergence and the Convergence Insufficiency Symptom Survey (CISS) was administered before the first surgery and at the third visit after surgery on the second eye. A detailed diagnostic classification protocol was applied to identify the presence of binocular vision anomalies pre- and post-surgery.Seventy-three participants were included at baseline, 24 (33%) of whom were diagnosed with non-strabismic binocular vision anomalies (NSBVA), mainly convergence insufficiency (18/73, 25%). Fifty-one participants completed the post-operative evaluation, 17 (33%) of whom had NSBVA pre-surgery and 13 (26%) post-surgery (p = 0.48). There were a number of conversions from NSBVA to normal binocular vision and vice versa. Logistic regression showed that the adjusted odds ratio of pre-existing NSBVA diagnosis for predicting the risk of post-operative NSBVA was 6.37 (p 0.01). There were no significant changes in most binocular vision measures post-surgery, except for a significant improvement in the CISS score (p 0.01, Cohen's d = 0.83).Binocular vision anomalies, especially convergence insufficiency, are prevalent in the age-related cataract population. Cataract surgery does not appear to be a significant risk factor for the development of new binocular vision anomalies. A pre-existing binocular vision anomaly is the main risk factor for predicting a post-operative binocular vision anomaly in this population.

Background Preeclampsia and gestational hypertension can cause vascular function impairment in offspring. In our previous work, we described the protein expression profiles of umbilical artery tissues from patients with preeclampsia. Methods To gain insights into the mechanisms of vascular dysfunction in adult rats born to preeclamptic dams, we analyzed thoracic aorta tissues by using iTRAQ isobaric tags and 2D nano LC-MS/MS. Results By using the iTRAQ method, we analyzed 1825 proteins, of which 106 showed significantly different expression in the thoracic aortic. Ingenuity pathway analysis (IPA) showed that the majority of differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) were associated with cardiovascular function. Further analysis indicated that glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD), which is inhibited by miR-423-5p and activated by TP53, had the strongest effect on cardiovascular function. The expression of G6PD was upregulated in thoracic aorta tissues, as confirmed by Western blotting. The expression of two other vascular function-related proteins, cysteine- and glycine-rich protein 2 (CSRP2) and tubulin alpha-4 A (TUBA4A), was upregulated, as demonstrated by mass spectrometry (MS). Conclusions Although the results require further functional validation, these data provide novel findings related to vascular function impairment in the adult offspring of preeclamptic mothers.

Background This study is the first part of the “Binocular Vision Anomalies after Cataract Surgery” study that aimed to investigate the impact of cataract surgery on binocular vision status in adults with age-related cataract. This study aimed to investigate the preoperative binocular vision status of participants with age-related cataract. Methods Patients who elected to undergo bilateral cataract surgery (≥50 years of age) were recruited. Clinical measures of binocular vision including stereopsis, ocular alignment, fusional vergence, vergence facility, convergence amplitude and a symptom survey related to binocular vision anomalies were administered. A detailed classification protocol was established to identify the presence of binocular vision anomalies. The frequency of specific binocular vision anomalies and normative data of binocular vision measures were reported. Results A total of 73 subjects were evaluated. No strabismus was detected in the cohort. Non-strabismic binocular vision anomalies were detected in 24 subjects (32.9%), of whom 18 (24.7%) had convergence insufficiency, 3 (4.1%) had basic exophoria, 2 (2.7%) had convergence excess, and 1 (1.4%) had fusional vergence dysfunction. Decreased vergence facility and convergence amplitude were more common compared to the pre-presbyopes (P Conclusion Binocular vision problems, especially convergence insufficiency, are common in the adults with age-related cataract. The study results demonstrate that the lack of normative binocular vision data for the presbyopic population is a significant gap in the literature and suggest the need for a study of normative data for this population. Trial registration The study was registered at ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT03592615, USA).

Cancer cells always require more nutrients, energy, and biosynthetic activity to sustain their rapid proliferation than normal cells. Previous studies have shown the impact of THZ1, a covalent inhibitor of cyclin-dependent kinase 7 (CDK7), on transcription regulation and cell-cycle arrest in numerous cancers, but its effects on cellular metabolism in cancer cells remain unknown. In this study we elucidated the anticancer mechanism of THZ1 in human non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells. We showed that treatment with THZ1 (10−1000 nM) dose-dependently suppressed the proliferation of human NSCLC cell lines H1299, A549, H292, and H23, and markedly inhibited the migration of these NSCLC cells. Furthermore, treatment with THZ1 (50 nM) arrested cell cycle at G(2)/M phase and induced apoptosis in these NSCLC cell lines. More importantly, we revealed that treatment with THZ1 (50 nM) blocked the glycolysis pathway but had no effect on glutamine metabolism. We further demonstrated that THZ1 treatment altered the expression pattern of glutaminase 1 (GLS1) isoforms through promoting the ubiquitination and degradation of NUDT21. Combined treatment of THZ1 with a glutaminase inhibitor CB-839 (500 nM) exerted a more potent anti-proliferative effect in these NSCLC cell lines than treatment with THZ1 or CB-839 alone. Our results demonstrate that the inhibitory effect of THZ1 on the growth of human NSCLC cells is partially attributed to interfering with cancer metabolism. Thus, we provide a new potential therapeutic strategy for NSCLC treatment by combining THZ1 with the inhibitors of glutamine metabolism.

Objective: To study the effect of circuit exercise training combined with drug therapy on glucose lipid metabolism and microinflammatory state in T2DM patients. Methods: Patients with newly diagnosed T2DM who were treated in Dazhou Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital between June 2014 and October 2016 were selected and randomly divided into training intervention group and routine intervention group who received circuit exercise training intervention and routine exercise intervention respectively. The contents of glucose lipid metabolism indexes and inflammatory cytokines in serum as well as the contents of inflammatory cells in peripheral blood were determined before intervention and 8 weeks after intervention. Results: Serum FBG, F-Ins, HbA1c%, FFA, TC, LDL-C, ox-LDL, Chemerin, Resistin, IL-6, MCP-1 and CRP contents as well as peripheral blood CD14+CD16+ cell contents of both groups of patients after intervention were lower than those before intervention while HDL-C, ADP and Vaspin contents were higher than those before intervention, and serum FBG, F-Ins, HbA1c%, FFA, TC, LDL-C, ox-LDL, Chemerin, Resistin, IL-6, MCP-1 and CRP contents as well as peripheral blood CD14+CD16+ cell content of training intervention group after intervention were lower than those of routine intervention group while HDL-C, ADP and Vaspin contents were higher than those of routine intervention group. Conclusion: Circuit exercise training for T2DM can be more effective in improving glucose lipid metabolism and inhibiting inflammatory response.

Background Blood–oxygen-level dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging (BOLD-fMRI) maps cerebral activity by the hemodynamic response. Catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT) gene is involved in the metabolism of dopamine. It is reported that both of these can be used to assess the aggression risk in patients with schizophrenia. However, these methods to assess the aggression risk patients with schizophrenia have not been established in China. Therefore, we deliver here a systematic review and meta-analysis based on the studies dealing with Chinese patients. Method Nine fMRI studies and 12 gene studies were included. The data of each study were extracted and summarized. Odds ratios with 95% confidence intervals were estimated on allele, dominant, and recessive models. Publication bias was evaluated by Begg’s funnel plot. Results Positive BOLD-fMRI values in the lower central neural system (CNS) and negative values in the high-level CNS were observed in the patients with aggression risk. A strong association was derived from the recessive gene model of COMT polymorphism rs4680 and risk in aggression behavior (odds ratio =2.10). No significant publication bias was identified. Conclusion Aggression behavior in patients with schizophrenia can be indicated by positive BOLD-fMRI values in the lower CNS and negative values in the high-level CNS and by a recessive gene model in COMT polymorphism rs4680. A combined test of fMRI and COMT gene could increase the predictive value.

In view of problems of limited information, dispersed storage data and single function, the paper proposed a design scheme of application management software of multimedia rescue communication system, which can coordinate with front-end device of multimedia rescue communication system to process and store rescue information real-timely. It introduced design of function modules of the software in details through analyzing design requirements of the software and gave implementing principles of technologies of multimedia information fusion and information retrieval used in the software. The actual application showed that the software has functions of video display and storage, multiparty calls, environmental parameters display and alarming, which meets with requirements of diversified information and rescue information sharing of rescue work.

Gastric cancer is a common cancer of the gastrointestinal tract and the second most prevalent cause of cancer-associated mortality globally. Gastric cancer-associated mortality is increased in China compared with that in other countries. Key contributors to the poor prognosis of gastric cancer include late clinical presentation and genetic heterogeneity. Treatment based on the subtype of gastric cancer is important for effective therapy. The overexpression of the erb-b2 receptor tyrosine kinase 2 (ERBB2) gene and protein is associated with gastric cancer in humans. Chemotherapy and targeted therapy may control tumor growth and recurrence, which is an important function of conversion surgery. The present study reported a patient diagnosed with gastric cancer with multiple abdominal cavity and retroperitoneal lymph node metastases. ERBB2 amplification and overexpression were identified in both case reports presented. The patients were treated with four cycles of oxaliplatin, capecitabine and trastuzumab. Computed tomography revealed the lymph node metastases decreased in size following treatment, and surgical resection was performed. The four cycles of oxaliplatin, capecitabine and trastuzumab were continued subsequent to surgical resection at the administered dose. No recurrence was observed for >1 year after surgery. Trastuzumab combined with oxaliplatin and capecitabine as a conversion therapy regime for ERBB2-overexpressing advanced gastric adenocarcinoma increased the likelihood of successful surgical resection, and prolonged progression-free survival.

The microwave magnetic dynamic properties of the [NiFe(40nm)/IrMn(15nm)]6/[NiFe(30nm)/IrMn(15nm)]7/[NiFe(20nm)/IrMn(15nm)]10 multi-stacks structure films, prepared by high vacuum DC magnetron sputtering deposition, have been investigated at the frequency range from 10 MHz to 6 GHz. By changing the thickness of the ferromagnetic (FM) NiFe layer in bottom [NiFe(t nm)/IrMn(15nm)]6 stack part, a tunable lower frequency range used magnetic multilayer can be realized. The influence of the NiFe layer thickness in bottom stack to static and dynamic magnetic properties were obtained and analyzed. Combining with the top [NiFe(30nm)/IrMn(15nm)]7/[NiFe(20nm)/IrMn(15nm)]10 two stacks used in the higher frequency, a kind of multi-stacks structure magnetic thin films were fabricated for the wideband microwave noise filter.

The international pharmacognosy research on molecular level has developed rapidly. Chinese research has a significant influence.The molecular mechanism of the formation of Dao-di Herbs may become the next hotspot.

Polycrystalline Fe3O4 films grown on different thicknesses of Fe underlayers were prepared by dc reactive-magnetron sputtering in an Ar+O2 gas mixture and annealing under an infrared-lamp furnace system. Analyses of structural and magnetic properties revealed that a 15nm Fe underlayer can be oxidized to Fe3O4 by increasing the oxygen flow rates during initial Fe3O4 layer growth. These analyses also confirmed the stoichiometry and high-crystallographic quality of grown Fe3O4. Adopting this method, Fe3O4 films can be grown without any other elemental buffer layers.

Agricultural production and quality are adversely affected by various abiotic stresses worldwide and this will be exacerbated by the deterioration of global climate. To feed a growing world population, it is very urgent to breed stress-tolerant crops with higher yields and improved qualities against multiple environmental stresses. Since conventional breeding approaches had marginal success due to the complexity of stress tolerance traits, the transgenic approach is now being popularly used to breed stress-tolerant crops. So identifying and characterizing the the critical genes involved in plant stress responses is an essential prerequisite for engineering stress-tolerant crops. Far beyond the manipulation of single functional gene, engineering certain regulatory genes has emerged as an effective strategy now for controlling the expression of many stress-responsive genes. Transcription factors (TFs) are good candidates for genetic engineering to breed stress-tolerant crop because of their role as master regulators of many stress-responsive genes. Many TFs belonging to families AP2/EREBP, MYB, WRKY, NAC, bZIP have been found to be involved in various abiotic stresses and some TF genes have also been engineered to improve stress tolerance in model and crop plants. In this review, we take five large families of TFs as examples and review the recent progress of TFs involved in plant abiotic stress responses and their potential utilization to improve multiple stress tolerance of crops in the field conditions.

In the present study, we presented the population genetic data and their forensic parameters of 21 non-CODIS autosomal STR loci in Chinese Guanzhong Han population. A total of 166 alleles were observed with corresponding allelic frequencies ranging from 0.0018 to 0.5564. No STR locus was observed to deviate from the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium and linkage disequilibriums after applying Bonferroni correction. The cumulative power of discrimination and probability of exclusion of all the 21 STR loci were 0.99999999999999999993814 and 0.999998184, respectively. The results of genetic distances, phylogenetic trees and principal component analysis revealed that the Guanzhong Han population had a closer relationship with Ningxia Han, Tujia and Bai groups than other populations tested. In summary, these 21 STR loci showed a high level of genetic polymorphisms for the Guanzhong Han population and could be used for forensic applications and the studies of population genetics.

We present the potential of ultrathin bilayer metallic nanofilms for use as broadband antireflection coatings in the terahertz frequency range. The metallic layers are modeled using a wave-impedance matching approach. The experimental and theoretical results are in good agreement. Further, a novel method using our broadband antireflection coatings is proposed to eliminate unwanted reflections that interfere with the important reflection from the sample in terahertz reflection measurement. The proposed method significantly improves the calculation of the optical properties of liquid and biological samples.

Three complexes with same components, PdII, 2-sulfobenzoate and 1,10-phenanthroline, [Pd(phen)2]⋅2(2-Hsb) (1), [Pd(phen)2](2-Hsb)⋅(2-Hsb)⋅2H2O (2), and [Pd(phen)2]⋅[Pd(phen)(2-sb)2]⋅6H2O (3), where 2-H2sb is 2-sulfobenzoic acid and phen is 1,10-phenanthroline, were synthesized and characterized by IR spectra, elemental analyses, thermogravimetric analyses, UV–vis absorption spectra and powder X-ray analysis. Single X-ray crystal structural analyses showed that 1 and 2 are ionic species, while 3 is a dimer through weak bonding interactions. In 1 and 2, 2-Hsb− ligands are partly deprotonated and it is fully deprotonated in 3. In 2 and 3 there are hydrogen bonds and π–π interactions. Extended hydrogen bonding structures for 2 and 3 are 1-D and 3-D architectures, respectively. The oxidation of methyl phenyl sulfide by 1-3 as homogeneous catalysts gave high conversion and selectivity in methanol. The addition of 2-sulfobenzoic acid in the catalytic reaction further promotes the conversion.

Sterol regulatory element binding protein 1 (SREBP-1) is one of the important nuclear transcription factors. SREBP-1 can maintain lipids dynamic equilibrium by regulating the expression of enzymes required for synthesis of endogenous cholesterol, fatty acids, triglycerides and phospholipids. Anomalies of SREBP-1 and its target genes can cause a series of metabolic diseases such as insulin resistance, type Ⅱ diabetes, heart dysfunction, vascular complications and hepatic steatosis. In these years, the development of high-throughput technologies has greatly expanded our knowledge about SREBP-1 target genes and the pattern of transcriptional regulation. Here we reviewed recent research progress of SREBP-1, with a focus on the protein structure, activation process, DNA binding sites and target genes. Most importantly, we showed the transcriptional regulatory networks based on omics datasets, which will contribute to a better understanding of the role of SREBP-1 in lipid metabolism and provide new clues for the treatment of lipid metabolism disorders.

Diabetic neuropathy (DN) is defined as the presence of symptoms and/or signs of peripheral nerve dysfunction in people with diabetes. The aim of this study is to screen differentially expressed genes in peripheral ganglia in early stage type Ⅱ experimental diabetic rats. We compared gene expression profiles of peripheral ganglia in type Ⅱ diabetic and nondiabetic rats based on Illumina® Sentrix® BeadChip arrays. The results showed that 158 out of a total of 12 604 known genes were significantly differentially expressed, including 87 up-regulated and 71 down-regulated genes, in diabetic rats compared with those in the nondiabetic rats. It is noted that some up-regulated genes are involved in the biological processes of neuronal cytoskeleton and motor proteins. In contrast, the down-regulated genes are associated with the response to virus\biotic stimulus\ other organism in diabetic rats. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analysis revealed that the most significant pathway enriched in the changed gene set is metabolism (P0.001). These results indicated that metabolic changes in peripheral ganglia of diabetic rats could be induced by hyperglycemia. Hyperglycemia could change the expression of genes involved in neuronal cytoskeleton and motor proteins through immune inflammatory response, and then impair the structure and function of the peripheral ganglia.

We report calculation results for the transmission characteristics of terahertz hollow fibers with inner coatings of absorptive dielectric and metal layers. The absorption property of the dielectric film has an obvious influence on the transmission property of terahertz hollow fiber, because the optimum thickness of the dielectric layer is several tens of micrometers. Calculations were conducted on the loss properties of the hollow fiber with and without the absorptive dielectric layer. Important results were obtained, such as the optimum refractive index for the absorptive dielectric layer and the absorption tolerances for hollow fibers with various inner diameters.

To detect the expression of RhoC and Ki67 in squamous carcinoma of cervix and to reveal the correlation of RhoC and Ki67 with clinic pathological parameters of cervix carcinoma.The expressions of RhoC and Ki67 were evaluated in 26 cases of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) and 57 cases of squamous carcinoma of cervix(SCC) by immunohistochemistry, while 14 cases of normal cervical epithelium(NCE) were taken as control.Immunohistochemical staining demonstrated RhoC expression in 82.46% (47/57) of SCC, 15.38% (2/13) of CIN II/III, and negative expression in NCE and CIN I. The positive rate of RhoC expression in SCC was significantly higher than that in NCE and CIN (P0.05). The expression of RhoC in SCC was significantly correlated with pelvic lymph node metastasis and depth of stroma infiltration, but not correlated with age, FIGO staging,histologic grade and vascular space involvement. The positive rates of Ki67 expression in NCE, CIN I, CIN II/III and SCC were 28.57%, 38.46%, 100% and 96.49% respectively. The positive rates of Ki67 expression in SCC and CIN II/III were significantly higher than those in NCE and CIN I (P0.05). The expression of Ki67 in SCC was not correlated with the major clinic pathological parameters. There was no obvious relationship between the expression of RhoC gene and Ki67 antigen in SCC (P0. 05).The overexpression of RhoC may play an important role in the invasion and metastasis of SCC. RhoC may be a potential marker to identify SCC patients with high risk of invasion and metastasis.

Multidimensional online analytical processing (MOLAP) is a important application on multidimensional data warehouse. We often execute range queries on aggregate cube computed by pre-aggregate technique in MOLAP. In this paper, we proposes to create a highly performance dimension hierarchy aggregate cube (DHAC) and its novel incremental update algorithm with the dimension hierarchy aggregate technique on the cube. By using the hierarchical prefix of the dimension hierarchy aggregate tree, the DHAC can incrementally update all the affected ancestors while updating a cell in it. The DHAC can also incrementally update without being recreated while being added new dimension data in it. As a result, this algorithm can greatly reduce the update time. We have compared the algorithms of DHAC with the other existed ones such as DDC (dynamic data cube) by experiment. The analytical and experimental results show that the algorithms of DHAC proposed in this paper are more efficient than the other existed ones.

The effects of BaCu(B2O5) (BCB) addition on the microstructure, phase formation, and microwave dielectric properties of Ba5Nb4O15−BaWO4 ceramic are investigated. As a sintering aid, BaCu(B2O5) ceramic could effectively lower the sintering temperature of Ba5Nb4O15−BaWO4 ceramic from 1100 °C to 950 °C due to the liquid-phase effect. Meanwhile, BaCu(B2O5) addition effectively improves the densification of Ba5Nb4O15−BaWO4 ceramic and significantly influences the microwave dielectric properties. X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that Ba5Nb4O15 and BaWO4 coexist with no crystal phase of BaCu(B2O5) in the sintered ceramics. The Ba5Nb4O15−BaWO4 ceramics with 1.0 wt% BaCu(B2O5) sintered at 950 °C for 2 h presents good microwave dielectric properties of er = 19.0, high Q×f of 33802 GHz and low τf of 2.5 ppm/°C.

The effects of the addition of H3BO3 on the microstructure, phase formation, and microwave dielectric properties of (Zn0.7Mg0.3)TiO3 ceramics sintered at temperatures ranging from 890 °C to 950 °C are investigated. H3BO3 as a sintering agent can effectively lower the sintering temperature of ZMT ceramics below 950 °C due to the liquid-phase effect. The microwave dielectric properties are found to strongly correlate with the amount of H3BO3. With the increase in H3BO3 content, the dielectric constant (er) monotonically increases, but the quality factor (Q × f) reaches a maximum at 1 wt% H3BO3, and the apparent density of ZMT ceramics with H3BO3 ≥ 1 wt% gradually decreases. At 950 °C, the ZMT ceramics with 1% H3BO3 exhibit excellent microwave dielectric properties: er = 19.8, and Q × f = 43800 GHz (8.94 GHz).

NiFe/[IrMn/NiFe/IrMn]5/[NiFe/IrMn]4/NiFe structured exchange-biased multilayer films are designed and prepared by magnetron sputtering. The static and the microwave magnetic properties are systematically investigated. The results reveal that adding a partially pinned ferromagnetic layer can effectively broaden the ferromagnetic resonance linewidth toward the low frequency domain. Moreover, a wideband multi-peak permeability spectrum with a 3.1-GHz linewidth is obtained by overlapping the spectra of different partially pinned ferromagnetic layers and [antiferromagnet/ferromagnet/antiferromagnet]n stacks. Our results show that the linewidth of the sample can be feasibly tuned through controlling the proper exchange bias fields of different stacks. The designed multilayered thin films have potential application for a tunable wideband high frequency noise filter.

Dielectric-coated metallic hollow fiber (DMHF) is an increasingly popular fiber for the delivery of terahertz (THz) wave. There is a need for small-diameter fibers in a variety of THz wave applications. Transmission characteristics of DMHF with subwavelength diameter in the THz region are numerically investigated. The effective refractive indices, attenuation constants, and power distributions are presented. The effect of the metal layer on enhancing the modal field confinement is demonstrated by comparing the power distribution of the fiber to that of the polymer tube. Attenuation dependence on the dielectric layer is studied concerning the layer thickness and the refractive index. Both the optimal thickness and the optimal refractive index for the dielectric layer are dependent on the core size. Fiber with a smaller core requires a thicker dielectric layer and lower dielectric refractive index to achieve low attenuation. The results are important to the design of subwavelength diameter DMHF for the transmission of THz waves.
