Hyper-uric acid (UA)-induced kidney injury (HAKI) is caused by the deposition of excess blood UA into the kidneys. We confined molecules of uricase (URI), catalase (CAT), and curcumin (Cur) to a single structure (UC/Cur) while retaining their enzymatic activities via a cross-linking complexation reaction between tannic acid and FeCl3 for treating HAKI. Simultaneously, bovine serum albumin (BSA)-UC/Cur nanoparticles were successfully prepared by interlinking the disulfide bonds of BSA with the enzyme complex via Tris(2-carboxyethyl) phosphine(TCEP) to form sulfhydryl groups. BSA-UC/Cur significantly attenuated MSU-induced NLRP3 inflammasome pathway activation and apoptosis in NRK-52e cells by eliminating UA crystals and intracellular reactive oxygen species. More importantly, treatment with BSA-UC/Cur stabilized blood UA concentrations and lowered proximal tubular protein levels, mitochondrial swelling, and fibrotic areas, renducing the expression of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)2, MMP9, and NLRP3 while, increasing the expression of tight-junction proteins ZO1 and occludin as well as that of TIMP-1, in HAKI model rats. In addition, BSA-UC/Cur nanoparticles reduced the subpopulation ratios of CD8+ T cells and M1 macrophages and increased those of M2 macrophages and Treg cells. Preliminary in-vivo trials showed that long-term intravenous treatment with BSA-UC/Cur is safe. Therefore, BSA-UC/Cur could be a potential nanotherapeutic agent for HAKI.

Torecover copper and iron from a copper smelting slag flotation tailingwith iron grade of 37.42% and copper grade of 1.86%, according to the characteristics of its ore properties, the bituminous coal was used as a reductant, the process of direct reduction roasting - magnetic separation was applied.The experimental results show that copper smelting slag, bitumite and quicklime (as a co-reducing agent) are mixed in the mass ratio of 100∶25∶20, and at the conditions of roasting temperature of 1 200 ℃, time of 80 min, the roasted ores gringding fineness of -0.045 mm 80%, and magnetic strength of 0.139 T, the copper-bearing iron ore concentrate can be obtained with an iron grade of 90.98%, iron recovery of 90.13%, copper grade of 5.82% and copper recovery of 87.38%, thus realizing the comprehensive recovery of copper and iron from copper smelting slags.

Lepista sordida is a valuable edible mushroom rich in natural bioactive compounds. In the present study, a high-quality whole-genome of a domesticated strain of L. sordida was sequenced, revealing a 40.67 Mb genome in 13 contigs. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that L. sordida is evolutionarily closely related to edible mushroom Lyophyllum decastes and Hypsizygus marmoreus. Heat stress has a significant effect on the yield and quality of mushrooms, but the molecular basis for this is poorly understood in L. sordida. A label-free comparative proteomic analysis was performed under different heat stress conditions. The growth of L. sordida mycelia was inhibited, and nuclear apoptosis occurred under heat stress. Ca2+ and MAPK signaling pathways were found to be involved in heat stress signal transduction. It is hypothesized that the expression of various heat shock proteins plays a crucial role in the response to heat stress. In addition, the components of the ubiquitin-proteasome system and the thioredoxin system were upregulated, preventing the accumulation of misfolded proteins and possibly supporting the response to heat stress. In summary, these results provide a fundamental insight into the evolution and heat stress-responsive mechanisms in L. sordida and may facilitate the breeding of heat-tolerant strains for artificial cultivation.

Abstract Diatoms often outnumber other eukaryotic algae in the oceans, especially in coastal environments characterized by frequent fluctuations in light intensity. The identities and operational mechanisms of regulatory factors governing diatom acclimation to high light stress remain largely elusive. Here, we identified the AUREO1c protein from the coastal diatom Phaeodactylum tricornutum as a crucial regulator of non-photochemical quenching (NPQ), a photoprotective mechanism that dissipates excess energy as heat. AUREO1c detects light stress using a light-oxygen-voltage (LOV) domain and directly activates the expression of target genes, including LI818 genes that encode NPQ effector proteins, via its bZIP DNA-binding domain. In comparison to a kinase-mediated pathway reported in the freshwater green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, the AUREO1c pathway exhibits a faster response and enables accumulation of LI818 transcript and protein levels to comparable degrees between continuous high-light and fluctuating-light treatments. We propose that the AUREO1c-LI818 pathway contributes to the resilience of diatoms under dynamic light conditions.

To accurately evaluate the distribution and potential of deep coalbed methane resources, it is critical to identify the coal sedimentary and pore distribution characteristics of deep coal reservoirs. Therefore, based on the analysis of coal macerals, nuclear magnetic resonance porosity, and electron microscopy, the characteristics of coal macerals and pore distribution in the Yulin area were identified, as well as the relationship between the coal sedimentary and pore structure characteristics of No.8 coal was evaluated. The results indicated that: ① The organic macerals of No.8 coal seam in the study area were predominantly composed of vitrinite, indicating a predominance of woody plants during the early stages of coal formation. As the degree of water cover increases, it gradually transitions into a mixture of woody and herbaceous plants. ② During the Benxi period, No. 8 coal evolved from an early wetland forest swamp to a later open water swamp with stagnant swamp water, creating a stable environment conducive to organic matter enrichment and coal seam stability. ③ The proportion of macropores in No.8 coal seam was negatively correlated with the structure preservation index (TPI), while it was positively correlated with the gel index (GI). ④ Matrix vitrinite developed dense or sparse banded pores, mass vitrinite developed few pores, and the structure vitrinite developed original tissue pores, mostly filled with minerals, while the homogeneous vitrinite did not develop pores. In conclusion, pore distribution in Yulin's coal seams was controlled by sedimentation and macerals. The pore structure of coal seams in the open water swamp sedimentary presented three peaks, with micropores and macropores developing best, which can simultaneously enrich free gas and adsorbed gas. The pore structure of coal seams in the wetland forest swamp sedimentary presented two peaks, with micropores developing well and macropores developing poorly, mainly enriching adsorbed gas.

Abstract Photosystem II (PSII) catalyzes water oxidation and plastoquinone reduction by utilizing light energy. It is highly susceptible to photodamage under high-light conditions and the damaged PSII needs to be restored through a process known as the PSII repair cycle. The detailed molecular mechanism underlying the PSII repair process remains mostly elusive. Here, we report biochemical and structural features of a PSII-repair intermediate complex, likely arrested at an early stage of the PSII repair process in the green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. The complex contains three protein factors associated with a damaged PSII core, namely Thylakoid Enriched Factor 14 (TEF14), Photosystem II Repair Factor 1 (PRF1), and Photosystem II Repair Factor 2 (PRF2). TEF14, PRF1 and PRF2 may facilitate the release of the manganese-stabilizing protein PsbO, disassembly of peripheral light-harvesting complexes from PSII and blockage of the QB site, respectively. Moreover, an α-tocopherol quinone molecule is located adjacent to the heme group of cytochrome b 559, potentially fulfilling a photoprotective role by preventing the generation of reactive oxygen species.

Abstract Background Enlargement of the bone tunnel has become an unavoidable early complication after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, whether it is a single or double-bundle ACL reconstruction. Preservation of the ACL stump in ACL reconstruction reduces enlargement of the bone tunnel. The purpose of this study was to investigate the question of whether single-bundle ACL reconstruction using the ACL femoral side retained stump technique reduces enlargement of the femoral tunnel. Methods Forty patients who underwent single-bundle reconstruction of the ACL were included in this study. The patients were categorized into a Remnant preservation group (Group R) and the Non-remnant preservation group (Group N). In the Remnant preservation group, a high-flexion femoral side retained stump technique was used intraoperatively for the establishment of the femoral side bone tunnel, and in the Non-remnant preservation group, the conventional femoral positioning method was used (we used a femoral positioning drill for localization and drilling of the femoral bone tunnel), and MRI of the operated knee joints was performed at 6 months postoperatively. We measured the internal diameter of the femoral bone tunnel at 5 mm from the intra-articular outlet of the femoral bone tunnel on an MRI scan image perpendicular to the femoral bone tunnel. The size of the tunnel was compared between the intraoperative drilling of the bone tunnel and the size of the bone tunnel at 6 months postoperatively. Postoperative clinical assessment was Lysholm score. Results After a 6-month follow-up of 40 patients, the diameter of the femoral tunnel at a distance of 5 mm from the inner opening of the femoral tunnel was 10.96 ± 0.67 mm and 10.11 ± 0.62 mm in patients of group N and group R, respectively, and the difference was statistically significant (P

Particulate matter (PM) is the main air pollutant in China. Due to its wide distribution and difficulties in control, PM has been widely concerned. PM mainly enters human body through respiratory exposure and can cause a variety of health problems. Recent studies have shown that PM exposure is also associated with the occurrence and development of digestive system diseases, as it can enter human body indirectly through the respiratory tract or directly through the digestive tract. Gut microbiota (GM) is a group of microorganisms located in the intestinal epithelium mucosa and intestinal lumen. GM is large in number and rich in functions, and its homeostasis plays an important role in the intestinal health of individuals and even the health of the body. Because GM may mediate the health effects induced by environmental factors, more and more studies have focused on the effects of ambient PM on GM. In this review, we summarized the effects of a variety of ambient PM on GM homeostasis, focusing on five major phyla including Firmicutes, Bacteroidetes, Proteobacteria, Actinobacteria, and Verrucomicrobia, and discussed their main functions and the effects of PM on their homeostasis and abundance.

Abstract Background Pigeon circovirus infections in pigeons (Columba livia domestica) have been reported worldwide. Pigeons should be PiCV-free when utilized as qualified experimental animals. However, pigeons can be freely purchased as experimental animals without any clear guidelines to follow. Herein, we investigated the status quo of PiCV infections on a pigeon farm in Beijing, China, which provides pigeons for experimental use. Results PiCV infection was verified in at least three types of tissues in all forty pigeons tested. A total of 29 full-length genomes were obtained and deposited in GenBank. The whole genome sequence comparison among the 29 identified PiCV strains revealed nucleotide homologies of 85.8–100%, and these sequences exhibited nucleotide homologies of 82.7–98.9% as compared with those of the reference sequences. The cap gene displayed genetic diversity, with a wide range of amino acid homologies ranging from 64.5% to 100%. Phylogenetic analysis of the 29 full-genome sequences revealed that the PiCV strains in this study could be further divided into four clades: A (17.2%), B (10.4%), C (37.9%) and D (34.5%). Thirteen recombination events were also detected in 18 out of the 29 PiCV genomes obtained in this study. Phylogenetic research using the rep and cap genes verified the recombination events, which occurred between clades A/F, A/B, C/D, and B/D among the 18 PiCV strains studied. Conclusions In conclusion, PiCV infection, which is highly genetically varied, is extremely widespread on pigeon farms in Beijing. These findings indicate that if pigeons are to be used as experimental animals, it is necessary to evaluate the impact of PiCV infection on the results.

Two‐dimensional (2D) intrinsic vacancy semiconductors possess great application prospects in optoelectronics fields, originating from abundant intrinsic vacancy structures and exceptional physical properties. Understanding the structure‐activity relationship between vacancies and physical/photoelectric properties is significant for building advanced photoelectric devices. However, limited by the increasing instability of 2D structure induced by intrinsic vacancies, the precise synthesis of 2D intrinsic vacancy semiconductors faces great challenges. Here, high‐quality 2D intrinsic vacancy semiconductor α‐Ga2Se3 is synthesized via low‐pressure and space‐confined physical vapor deposition. The vacancy structures induce an intermediate energy level and a super‐bandgap photoluminescence (PL) peak, which are verified by temperature‐dependent PL spectra. Furthermore, the vacancy energy level favorably endows 2D α‐Ga2Se3‐based photodetector with a UV‐vis‐NIR super‐bandgap photoresponse, excellent ultraviolet detection ability (photoresponsivity (41.86 A W−1), epitaxial quantum efficiency (1.42 × 104%), and detectivity (6.69 × 1011 Jones) @365 nm), fast photoresponse (20 ms), and superior photocurrent‐light power‐fitting factors. In addition, 2D α‐Ga2Se3‐based phototransistor displays p‐type transport behavior with a responsivity of 105 A W−1@365 nm at a gate voltage of −40 V. This work suggests a bright future of 2D intrinsic vacancy semiconductors in tailoring physical properties and enabling sophisticated device functionality.

Abstract Background Airborne pollen is a crucial risk factor in allergic rhinitis (AR). The severity of AR symptoms can vary based on pollen type and concentration. This study aimed to estimate the association between exposure to different pollen types and AR risk. Methods We obtained data from patients admitted to the Beijing Tongren Hospital for AR, and data on pollen concentration, meteorological factors, and fine particulate matter (PM2.5) from 13 districts in Beijing from 2016 to 2019. We used a time‐stratified case‐crossover study design and calculated odds ratios (ORs) related to the risk of AR associated with a 10 grain/1000 mm2 increase in total pollen concentrations for specific pollen types. A stratified analysis was conducted to assess whether the associations were varied by age and sex. Results The OR of AR associated with a 10 grain/1000 mm2 increase in the 7‐day average pollen concentration was 1.014 (95% CI: 1.014, 1.015), 1.076 (95% CI: 1.070, 1.082), 1.024 (95% CI: 1.023, 1.025), 1.042 (95% CI: 1.039, 1.045), 1.142 (95% CI: 1.137, 1.147), 1.092 (95% CI: 1.088, 1.097), 1.046 (95% CI: 1.035, 1.058), and 1.026 (95% CI: 1.024, 1.028) for total pollen, Ulmus, Cupressaceae, Populus, Fraxinus, Pinus, Betula, and Artemisia, respectively. Both tree pollen (Ulmus, Cupressaceae, Populus, Fraxinus, Betula, and Pinus) and weed pollen (Artemisia, Chenopodium, and Humulus) were correlated with an increased risk of AR. These associations remained consistent across distinct subgroups defined by both age and sex. Conclusion Exposure to pollen from trees and weeds might be associated with an increased risk of AR. This research provides valuable scientific support for both clinical practitioners and patients with AR regarding the hazards of pollen exposure.

Abstract Purpose The aim of this study is to find a new method for femoral side preservation positioning in anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction and test the accuracy and precision of this method. Method Fifty patients with isolated ACL rupture (42 males and 8 females) who underwent single-bundle ACL reconstruction in our hospital between July 2022 and July 2023 were included. The lowest point of the cartilage margin of the lateral wall of the intercontinental fossa and the tibial plateau plumb line at 120° of knee flexion were used as the anatomical landmarks for positioning of the femoral tunnel for ACL reconstruction surgery. Femoral side remnant preservation was performed in all cases. Three-dimensional CT was performed 3 days postoperatively to collect the data, which were analyzed using Mimics 21.0 software. We measured the posterior cortical distance of the femoral condyle at 90° of knee flexion and the vertical distance from the center of the bone tunnel to the cortical extension line behind the femur. All femoral tunnel positions were marked on a 4 × 4 grid and visualized using the quadrant method. Results Using the new positioning method in 50 knees, the average distance of x was 25.26 ± 2.76% of t and the average distance of y was 23.69 ± 6.19% of h. This is close to the results of previous studies, where x was 24.2 ± 4.0% of t and the average distance of y was 21.6 ± 5.2% of h. Most femoral tunnel positions were located in the same area. The D values were distributed as follows: 60% in the range of 0 to 2 mm, 24% in the range of 2 to 4 mm, and 16% more than 4 mm. The E values were distributed as follows: 80% in the range of 0 to 4 mm and 20% more than 4 mm. Conclusion In arthroscopic ACL reconstruction, the knee was flexed at 120° and the lowest point of the cartilage edge of the lateral wall of the intercondylar fossa and the tibial plateau plumb line were used as anatomical landmarks for the positioning of the femoral bone tunnel, which resulted in more accurate femoral bone tunnel positioning, better reproducibility, and better preservation of the femoral stump compared to traditional positioning methods.

Lymphatic metastasis is the main metastatic route for colorectal cancer, which increases the risk of cancer recurrence and distant metastasis. The properties of the lymph node metastatic colorectal cancer (LNM-CRC) cells are poorly understood, and effective therapies are still lacking. Here, we found that hypoxia-induced fibroblast activation protein alpha (FAPα) expression in LNM-CRC cells. Gain- or loss-function experiments demonstrated that FAPα enhanced tumor cell migration, invasion, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, stemness, and lymphangiogenesis via activation of the STAT3 pathway. In addition, FAPα in tumor cells induced extracellular matrix remodeling and established an immunosuppressive environment via recruiting regulatory T cells, to promote colorectal cancer lymph node metastasis (CRCLNM). Z-GP-DAVLBH, a FAPα-activated prodrug, inhibited CRCLNM by targeting FAPα-positive LNM-CRC cells. Our study highlights the role of FAPα in tumor cells in CRCLNM and provides a potential therapeutic target and promising strategy for CRCLNM.

ObjectiveExploring the Incidence, Epidemic Trends, and Spatial Distribution Characteristics of Sporadic Hepatitis E in Hainan Province from 2013 to 2022 through four major tertiary hospitals in the Province.MethodsWe collected data on confirmed cases of hepatitis E in Hainan residents admitted to the four major tertiary hospitals in Haikou City from January 2013 to December 2022. We used SPSS software to analyze the correlation between incidence rate and economy, population density and geographical location, and origin software to draw a scatter chart and SAS 9.4 software to conduct a descriptive analysis of the time trend. The distribution was analyzed using ArcMap 10.8 software (spatial autocorrelation analysis, hotspot identification, concentration, and dispersion trend analysis). SAS software was used to build an autoregressive integrated moving average model (ARIMA) to predict the monthly number of cases in 2023 and 2024.ResultsFrom 2013 to 2022, 1,922 patients with sporadic hepatitis E were treated in the four hospitals of Hainan Province. The highest proportion of patients (n = 555, 28.88%) were aged 50–59 years. The annual incidence of hepatitis E increased from 2013 to 2019, with a slight decrease in 2020 and 2021 and an increase in 2022. The highest number of cases was reported in Haikou, followed by Dongfang and Danzhou. We found that there was a correlation between the economy, population density, latitude, and the number of cases, with the correlation coefficient |r| value fluctuating between 0.403 and 0.421, indicating a linear correlation. At the same time, a scatter plot shows the correlation between population density and incidence from 2013 to 2022, with r2 values fluctuating between 0.5405 and 0.7116, indicating a linear correlation. Abstract Background Reportedly, the stress–hyperglycemia ratio (SHR) is closely associated with poor prognosis in patients with severe acute disease. However, the community‐dwelling may also be in a state of stress due to environmental exposure. Our study aimed to explore the association between SHR and all‐cause mortality in the community‐dwelling population. Methods A total of 18 480 participants were included out of 82 091 from the NHANES 1999–2014 survey. The Kaplan–Meier survival analyses were used to assess the disparities in survival rates based on SHR, and the log‐rank test was employed to investigate the distinctions between groups. The multivariate Cox regression analysis and restricted cubic spline (RCS) analysis were performed to assess the association of SHR with all‐cause mortality. A subgroup analysis was also conducted. Objective: This prospective study aims to evaluate acute irradiation-induced xerostomia during radiotherapy by utilizing the normalized iodine concentration (NIC) derived from energy spectrum computed tomography (CT) iodine maps. Methods: In this prospective study, we evaluated 28 patients diagnosed with nasopharyngeal carcinoma. At 4 distinct stages of radiotherapy (0, 10, 20, and 30 fractions), each patient underwent CT scans to generate iodine maps. The NIC of both the left and right parotid glands was obtained, with the NIC at the 0-fraction stage serving as the baseline measurement. After statistically comparing the NIC obtained in the arterial phase, early venous phase, late venous phase, and delayed phase, we chose the late venous iodine concentration as the NIC and proceeded to analyze the variations in NIC at each radiotherapy interval. Using the series of NIC values, we conducted hypothesis tests to evaluate the extent of change in NIC within the parotid gland across different stages. Furthermore, we identified the specific time point at which the NIC decay exhibited the most statistically significant results. In addition, we evaluated the xerostomia grades of the patients at these 4 stages, following the radiation therapy oncology group (RTOG) xerostomia evaluation standard, to draw comparisons with the changes observed in NIC. The significant correlation between particulate matter with aerodynamic diameters of ≤ 2.5 µm (PM2.5) and the high morbidity and mortality of respiratory diseases has become the consensus of the research. Epidemiological studies have clearly pointed out that there is no safe concentration of PM2.5, and mechanism studies have also shown that exposure to PM2.5 will first cause pulmonary inflammation. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore the mechanism of early lung injury induced by low-level PM2.5 from the perspective of epigenetics. Based on the previous results of population samples, combined with an in vitro/vivo exposure model of PM2.5, it was found that low-level PM2.5 promoted the transport of circ_0092363 from intracellular to extracellular spaces.The decreased expression of intracellular circ_0092363 resulted in reduced absorption of miR-31-5p, leading to inhibition of Rho associated coiled-coil containing protein kinase 1 (ROCK1) and the subsequent abnormal expression of tight junction proteins such as Zonula occludens protein 1 (ZO-1) and Claudin-1, ultimately inducing the occurrence of early pulmonary injury. Furthermore, this study innovatively introduced organoid technology and conducted a preliminary exploration for a study of the relationship among environmental exposure genomics, epigenetics and disease genomics in organoids. The role of circ_0092363 in early pulmonary injury induced by low-level PM2.5 was elucidated, and its value as a potential diagnostic biomarker was confirmed.

Abstract. Background:. Colorectal carcinogenesis and progression are related to the gut microbiota and the tumor immune microenvironment. Our previous clinical trial demonstrated that berberine (BBR) hydrochloride might reduce the recurrence and canceration of colorectal adenoma (CRA). The present study aimed to further explore the mechanism of BBR in preventing colorectal cancer (CRC). Methods:. We performed metagenomics sequencing on fecal specimens obtained from the BBR intervention trial, and the differential bacteria before and after medication were validated using quantitative polymerase chain reaction. We further performed ApcMin/+ animal intervention tests, RNA sequencing, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays. Results:. The abundance of fecal Veillonella parvula (V. parvula) decreased significantly after BBR administration (P = 0.0016) and increased through the development from CRA to CRC. Patients with CRC with a higher V. parvula abundance had worse tumor staging and a higher lymph node metastasis rate. The intestinal immune pathway of Immunoglobulin A production was activated, and the expression of TNFSF13B (Tumor necrosis factor superfamily 13b, encoding B lymphocyte stimulator [BLyS]), the representative gene of this pathway, and the genes encoding its receptors (interleukin-10 and transforming growth factor beta) were significantly upregulated. Animal experiments revealed that V. parvula promoted colorectal carcinogenesis and increased BLyS levels, while BBR reversed this effect. Conclusion:. BBR might inhibit V. parvula and further weaken the immunomodulatory effect of B cells induced by V. parvula, thereby blocking the development of colorectal tumors. Trial Registraion:. Abstract In this paper, the prescribed tracking performance control problem is addressed for uncertain nonlinear systems with unknown periodically time‐varying parameters and arbitrary switching signal. By utilizing radial basis function neural network and fourier series expansion, an approximator is developed to overcome the difficulty of identifying unknown periodically time‐varying and nonlinearly parameterized functions. To achieve the ideal tracking control performance and eliminate the influence of filtering error, a novel command filter‐based adaptive neural network prescribed tracking performance controller is designed by introducing a filtering compensation mechanism. Differently from the standard Backstepping technique, the proposed control scheme eliminates the “explosion of complexity” problem and relaxes the constraint condition on the reference signal. And then, it is warranted that the closed‐loop system is semi‐globally ultimately uniformly bounded and the tracking error is always limited to the specified region bounded by the performance functions. Three simulation examples are used to demonstrate the feasibility of the developed technique in this paper.

The main minerals in tantalum niobium tailings in Jiangxi Province are feldspar, quartz, lithionite and topaz, containing a small amount of spodumene and sericite, among which the main available minerals are lithionite. For a long time, the tailings lack a comprehensive utilization and recycling process. This test study studies the flotation test of the main available mineral lithium mica in the tailings, determines the reasonable beneficiation recovery process, and provides a technical basis for the comprehensive utilization of the tailings. According to the process mineralogy properties of the ore, the lithium mica was recovered. Through a series of flotation condition tests, HZ-00 and dodecylamine are used as the combination catcher, Na2CO3 is pH value adjustment agent, water glass as the inhibitor, the flotation process of "one coarse, one sweep and one fine", the flotation closed circuit test can obtain Li2O grade of 4.3.02%, the recovery rate of 72.41%, and the test results are relatively ideal.

Polarimetric imaging technology plays a crucial role in de-scattering, particularly in the field of underwater image restoration. Circularly polarized light (or the underlying circular polarization memory effect) has been proven to better preserve the polarization characteristics of detected light. Utilizing circularly polarized light as illumination can further enhance the effectiveness of polarization de-scattering techniques. After rethinking the advantages of circularly polarized light, this paper proposes a new method for underwater polarimetric imaging restoration that leverages the pre-processing of polarized sub-images and the correlation of polarization characteristics (i.e., the angle of polarization and degree of polarization). Additionally, to address the challenge of selecting scattering light parameters due to uneven light fields in target scenes, an intensity adjustment factor search algorithm is designed. This algorithm eliminates the need for the manual selection of scattering light parameters, effectively solving the problem of uneven illumination in restoration results. A series of experiments demonstrate that, compared to traditional algorithms, the proposed method offers superior detail restoration and higher robustness.

The influence of fabrication and assembly errors on the surface distortion due to gravity of a 2 m primary mirror and its correction method are presented. The effect of fabrication errors on the surface distortion is verified by Monte Carlo analysis. The results show that, within the 46.3% confidence interval, the surface accuracy root mean square (RMS) caused by fabrication errors is more than 5.0 nm (indicator requirement). The sensitivity of mirror surface accuracy to the matching relationship between the flexible support axial assembly position and the inherent properties (neutral surface and center of gravity) of the mirror were analyzed. Then, the correction principle of the RMS was proposed based on the analysis result. The surface accuracy RMS of surface gravity distortion is sensitive to fabrication and assembly errors, which can be effectively corrected using a flexible support mounting technique. This new flexible support mounting technique replaces the conventional method with flexible supports having shims so that adjustments can be made during testing to counteract the gravitational distortion of the mirror surface. Astigmatic aberration due to gravitational changes is effectively reduced by selecting a suitable thickness of shim, and the relationship between the astigmatism and the thickness of shim was investigated using the finite element analysis method. Finally, the finite element analysis results showed that the optimal surface gravity accuracy of the mirror assembly could be obtained by adjusting the shim, while the other performance of the assembly was not affected.

Under simulated conditions typical of a high-temperature, high-pressure (HTHP) oil and gas reservoir in the South China Sea, dynamic corrosion evaluation experiments were performed on a three-layer screen structure and three types of sand retaining media. The results showed significant variations in corrosion morphology and rates among different screen components and materials. Corrosion products on the base pipe accumulated as cubic crystals, while the protective shroud showed surface needle-like corrosion products. Sand retaining media exhibited “coiled wire” corrosion products with cubic accumulations along seam edges. The 316L media showed a high corrosion risk, especially at temperatures between 140–150 °C. As CO2 partial pressure increased, corrosion rates generally rose. A new predictive method was developed to assess and compare the corrosion resistance and life of screens, achieving a compliance rate of over 90%. This method supports evaluating the corrosion life of screens in HTHP environments. For a typical well in the South China Sea gas field with 4% CO2, there is a high risk of screen corrosion. The screen media was identified as a failure site with a minimum corrosion life of about 5 years, while the protective shroud’s life was estimated at 11–12 years.

The stability of the SARS virus can be affected by various environmental factors, including temperature, humidity, and pressure. In the present research, the effect of initial pressure on the stability of the SARS virus in the presence of water/Ag nanofluid (NF) is investigated using molecular dynamics (MD) simulation. The results revealed that initial pressure effectively changes the atomic evolution of the virus-NF system. Numerically, the diffusion coefficient of modeled samples changes from 32.33 nm2/ns to 9.489 nm2/ns by initial pressure varies from 1 bar to 10 bar. This structural evolution caused interatomic distance and force between virus particle changes. Finally, interaction energy is changed by initial pressure variation, and this parameter varies between −0.44695 kcal/mol to −24.65127 kcal/mol in defined initial conditions. From MD outputs, it was concluded physical stability of the SARS virus in the presence of water/silver NF can be manipulated by initial pressure. So, the SARS virus destruction process with water/silver NF affected from the initial pressure ratio, appropriately. Future directions for this research project may involve exploring the influence of additional environmental factors and utilizing the gained knowledge to develop antiviral materials. This study establishes a foundation for further investigations into the interaction between environmental factors, NFs, and viral infections, with the potential to contribute to the development of effective strategies for combating viral infections and designing innovative antiviral solutions.

The study of morphological characteristics and growth information in fish scales is a crucial component of modern fishery biological research, while it has been less studied in fossil materials. This paper presents a detailed morphological description and growth analysis of a fossil ctenoid scale obtained from the Upper Cretaceous Campanian lacustrine deposits in northeastern China. The morphological features of this fossil scale are well-preserved and consistent with the structures found in ctenoid scales of extant fish species and display prominent ring ornamentation radiating outward from the central focus, with grooves intersecting the rings. A comparative analysis of the morphological characteristics between the fossil ctenoid scale and those well-studied extant fish Mugilidae allows us to explore the applicability of modern fishery biological research methods to the field of fossil scales. The scale length, scale width, the vertical distance from the focus to the apex of the scale, and the total number of radii have been measured. The age of the fish that possessed this ctenoid scale has been estimated by carefully counting the annuli, suggesting an age equal to or more than seven years. The distribution of growth rings on the scale potentially reflects the warm paleoclimatic condition and fish-friendly paleoenvironment prevalent during that period. This paper, moreover, serves as a notable application of fishery biological methods in the examination of fossil materials.

The seismic effects on sloped terrain, which are of paramount importance for engineering design and earthquake risk mitigation, have always been a central focus of earthquake engineering research. In this study, generalized geometric models of loess ridges at varying heights were created, and a three-dimensional nonlinear numerical model was established using FLAC3D. Seismic ground motion time histories at different frequencies and actual earthquake ground motion records were input into the model to analyze the peak acceleration amplification effects experienced by the surface of loess ridges when subjected to SV waves. The study's outcomes reveal that seismic amplification on the slopes of loess ridges is characterized by non-linearity with respect to slope height. Instead, it exhibits rhythmic variations, with the rate of change in these rhythms increasing in correspondence with the frequency of seismic motion and the height of the slope. Under low-intensity seismic motion, a linear increase in acceleration amplification is observed at the ridge's crest concerning the height of the loess ridge. However, under high-intensity seismic motion, the relationship between amplification and slope height becomes less significant. Typically, the peak acceleration at the ridge's crest is reported to be 1.5 to 2.5 times that observed at the slope's base. The amplification effect at the ridge's crest is more pronounced in the low-frequency and high-frequency segments when compared to the mid-frequency range. Conversely, significant amplification is observed in the high-frequency range in the lower sections of the slope near the base. It is further noted that the amplification effect at the ridge's crest displays distinct behavior at different frequencies, characterized by narrow frequency bands of maximum amplification, with peak amplification factors exceeding 10 in some cases. These research findings have practical significance and provide valuable references for engineering construction and seismic risk mitigation planning in loess regions.

The microbiome-gut-brain axis (MGBA) plays a critical role in schizophrenia (SZ). However, the underlying mechanisms of the interactions among the gut microbiome, brain networks, and symptom severity in SZ patients remain largely unknown. Fecal samples, structural and functional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data, and Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) scores were collected from 38 SZ patients and 38 normal controls, respectively. The data of 16S rRNA gene sequencing were used to analyze the abundance of gut microbiome and the analysis of human brain networks was applied to compute the nodal properties of 90 brain regions. A total of 1,691,280 mediation models were constructed based on 261 gut bacterial, 810 nodal properties, and 4 PANSS scores in SZ patients. IntroductionFerula is a traditional, edible, and important medicinal plant with high economic value. The distinction between edible and non-edible Ferula remains unclear.MethodsIn this study, headspace solid-phase microextraction coupled to gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (HS-SPME/GC-MS) and ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS/MS) non-targeted metabolomics techniques were used to systematically and comprehensively analyse secondary metabolites in the leaves and roots of four species of Ferula, considering their edibility.ResultsA total of 166 leaf volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and 1,079 root metabolites were identified. Additionally, 42 potential VOCs and 62 differential root metabolites were screened to distinguish between edible and non-edible Ferula. Twelve volatile metabolites were specific to F. feurlaeoides, and eight compounds were specific to the three edible Ferula species. The results showed that compounds containing sulphur, aldehydes, and ketones, which produce pungent odours, were the primary sources of the strong odour of Ferula. The root differential metabolites include 13 categories, among which the high concentration group is organic acids, amino acids, terpenoids and fatty acids. The bioactive metabolites and VOCs in the roots exhibited species-specific characteristics. VOCs with various odors were linked to the distribution of root metabolites in both edible and non-edible Ferula plants. The screened root markers may contribute to the formation of characteristic VOCs.DiscussionThis study identified the difference in flavour between edible and non-edible Ferula plants and, for the first time, demonstrated the contribution of the efficacy of Ferula root to the unique flavour of the above-ground parts of Ferula. These results provide a theoretical basis for selecting Ferula for consumption and help evaluate the quality of different species of Ferula. Our findings may facilitate food processing and the further development of Ferula.

Objective: Few studies have applied deep learning to the discriminative analysis of schizophrenia (SZ) patients using the fusional features of multimodal MRI data. Here, we proposed an integrated model combining a 3D convolutional neural network (CNN) with a 2D CNN to classify SZ patients. Method: Structural MRI (sMRI) and resting-state functional MRI (rs-fMRI) data were acquired for 140 SZ patients and 205 normal controls. We computed structural connectivity (SC) from the sMRI data as well as functional connectivity (FC), amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (ALFF), and regional homogeneity (ReHo) from the rs-fMRI data. The 3D images of T1, ReHo, and ALFF were used as the inputs for the 3D CNN model, while the SC and FC matrices were used as the inputs for the 2D CNN model. Moreover, we added squeeze and excitation blocks (SE-blocks) to each layer of the integrated model and used a support vector machine (SVM) to replace the softmax classifier. Results: The integrated model proposed in this study, using the fusional features of the T1 images, and the matrices of FC, showed the best performance. The use of the SE-blocks and SVM classifiers significantly improved the performance of the integrated model, in which the accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, area under the curve, and F1-score were 89.86%, 86.21%, 92.50%, 89.35%, and 87.72%, respectively. Conclusions: Our findings indicated that an integrated model combining 3D CNN with 2D CNN is a promising method to improve the classification performance of SZ patients and has potential for the clinical diagnosis of psychiatric diseases.

Abstract Backgrounds Gait disorder is associated with cognitive functional impairment, and this disturbance is more pronouncedly when performing additional cognitive tasks. Our study aimed to characterize gait disorders in mild cognitive impairment (MCI) under three dual tasks and determine the association between gait performance and cognitive function. Methods A total of 260 participants were enrolled in this cross-sectional study and divided into MCI and cognitively normal control. Spatiotemporal and kinematic gait parameters (31 items) in single task and three dual tasks (serial 100-7, naming animals and words recall) were measured using a wearable sensor. Baseline characteristics of the two groups were balanced using propensity score matching. Important gait features were filtered using random forest method and LASSO regression and further described using logistic analysis. Results After matching, 106 participants with MCI and 106 normal controls were recruited. Top 5 gait features in random forest and 4 ~ 6 important features in LASSO regression were selected. Robust variables associating with cognitive function were temporal gait parameters. Participants with MCI exhibited decreased swing time and terminal swing, increased mid stance and variability of stride length compared with normal control. Subjects walked slower when performing an extra dual cognitive task. In the three dual tasks, words recall test exhibited more pronounced impact on gait regularity, velocity, and dual task cost than the other two cognitive tests. Conclusion Gait assessment under dual task conditions, particularly in words recall test, using portable sensors could be useful as a complementary strategy for early detection of MCI.

Abstract Annexin A10 (ANXA10) belongs to a family of membrane-bound calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding proteins, but its precise function remains unclear. Further research is required to understand its role in sessile serrated lesions (SSL) and colorectal cancer (CRC). We conducted transcriptome sequencing on pairs of SSL and corresponding normal control (NC) samples. Bioinformatic methods were utilized to assess ANXA10 expression in CRC. We knocked down and overexpressed ANXA10 in CRC cells to examine its effects on cell malignant ability. The effect of ANXA10 on lung metastasis of xenograft tumor cells in nude mice was also assessed. Furthermore, we used quantitative polymerase chain reaction, western blotting, and flow cytometry for reactive oxygen species (ROS), lipid ROS, and intracellular Fe2+ to measure ferroptosis. Immunoblotting and Immunofluorescence staining were used to detect autophagy. We found that ANXA10 was significantly overexpressed in SSL compared to NC. ANXA10 was also highly expressed in BRAF mutant CRCs and was associated with poor prognosis. ANXA10 knockdown reduced the survival, proliferation, and migration ability of CRC cells. Knockdown of ANXA10 inhibited lung metastasis of CRC cells in mice. ANXA10 knockdown increased transferrin receptor (TFRC) protein levels and led to downregulation of GSH/GSSG, increased Fe2+, MDA concentration, and ROS and lipid ROS in cells. Knockdown of ANXA10 inhibited TFRC degradation and was accompanied by an accumulation of autophagic flux and an increase in SQSTM1. Finally, Fer-1 rescued the migration and viability of ANXA10 knockdown cell lines. In brief, the knockdown of ANXA10 induces cellular ferroptosis by inhibiting autophagy-mediated TFRC degradation, thereby inhibiting CRC progression. This study reveals the mechanism of ANXA10 in ferroptosis, suggesting that it may serve as a potential therapeutic target for CRC of the serrated pathway.

Abstract Efficient allocating and scheduling emergency rescue tasks are a primary issue for emergency management. This paper considers emergency scheduling of rescue tasks under stochastic deterioration of the injured. First, a mathematical model is established to minimize the average mathematical expectation of all tasks’ completion time and casualty loss. Second, an improved multi-objective estimation of distribution algorithm (IMEDA) is proposed to solve this problem. In the IMDEA, an effective initialization strategy is designed for obtaining a superior population. Then, three statistical models are constructed, which include two tasks existing in the same rescue team, the probability of first task being processed by a rescue team, and the adjacency between two tasks. Afterward, an improved sampling method based on referenced sequence is employed to efficiently generate offspring population. Three multi-objective local search methods are presented to improve the exploitation in promising areas around elite individuals. Furthermore, the parameter calibration and effectiveness of components of IMEDA are tested through experiments. Finally, the comprehensive comparison with state-of-the-art multi-objective algorithms demonstrates that IMEDA is a high-performing approach for the considered problem.

Abstract Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a highly prevalent and heterogeneous neurodevelopmental disorder in children and has a high chance of persisting in adulthood. The development of individualized, efficient, and reliable treatment strategies is limited by the lack of understanding of the underlying neural mechanisms. Diverging and inconsistent findings from existing studies suggest that ADHD may be simultaneously associated with multivariate factors across cognitive, genetic, and biological domains. Machine learning algorithms are more capable of detecting complex interactions between multiple variables than conventional statistical methods. Here we present a narrative review of the existing machine learning studies that have contributed to understanding mechanisms underlying ADHD with a focus on behavioral and neurocognitive problems, neurobiological measures including genetic data, structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), task-based and resting-state functional MRI (fMRI), electroencephalogram, and functional near-infrared spectroscopy, and prevention and treatment strategies. Implications of machine learning models in ADHD research are discussed. Although increasing evidence suggests that machine learning has potential in studying ADHD, extra precautions are still required when designing machine learning strategies considering the limitations of interpretability and generalization.

In this paper, we study the dynamics of the ratio-dependent type prey–predator model with different free boundaries. The two free boundaries, determined by prey and predator, respectively, implying that they may intersect with each other as time evolves, are used to describe the spreading of prey and predator. Our primary focus lies in analyzing the long-term behaviors of both predator and prey. We establish sufficient conditions for the spreading and vanishing of prey and predator. Furthermore, in cases where spread occurs, we offer estimates for the asymptotic spreading speeds of prey and predator, denoted as u and v, respectively, as well as the asymptotic speeds of the free boundaries, denoted by h and g. Our findings reveal that when the predator’s speed is lower than that of the prey, it leads to a reduction in the prey’s asymptotic speed.

Analyzing and breaking down nonstationary signals into their primary components is significant in various optical applications. In this work, we design a direct, localized, and mathematically rigorous method for nonstationary signals by employing a modulated short-time Fourier transform (MSTFT) that can be implemented efficiently using fast Fourier transform, subsequently isolating energy-concentrated sets through an approximate threshold process, allowing us to directly retrieve instantaneous frequencies and signal components by determining the maximum frequency within each set. MSTFT provides a new insight into the time-frequency analysis in multicomponent signal separation and can be extended to other time-frequency transforms. Beyond the analysis of the synthetic, we also perform real dual-comb ranging signals under turbid water, and the results show an approximate 1.5 dB improvement in peak signal-to-noise ratio, further demonstrating the effectiveness of our method in challenging conditions.

Abstract Cancer cells consistently utilize the unfolded protein response (UPR) to encounter the abnormal endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress induced by the accumulation of misfolded proteins. Extreme activation of the UPR could also provoke maladaptive cell death. Previous reports have shown that NRF2 antioxidant signaling is activated by UPR and serves as noncanonical pathway to defense and reduce excessive ROS levels during ER stress. However, the mechanisms of regulating NRF2 signaling upon ER stress in glioblastoma have not been fully elucidated. Here we identify that SMURF1 protects against ER stress and facilitates glioblastoma cell survival by rewiring KEAP1-NRF2 pathway. We show that ER stress induces SMURF1 degradation. Knockdown of SMURF1 upregulates IRE1 and PERK signaling in the UPR pathway and prevents ER-associated protein degradation (ERAD) activity, leading to cell apoptosis. Importantly, SMURF1 overexpression activates NRF2 signaling to reduce ROS levels and alleviate UPR-mediated cell death. Mechanistically, SMURF1 interacts with and ubiquitinates KEAP1 for its degradation (NRF2 negative regulator), resulting in NRF2 nuclear import. Moreover, SMURF1 loss reduces glioblastoma cell proliferation and growth in subcutaneously implanted nude mice xenografts. Taken together, SMURF1 rewires KEAP1-NRF2 pathway to confer resistance to ER stress inducers and protect glioblastoma cell survival. ER stress and SMURF1 modulation may provide promising therapeutic targets for the treatment of glioblastoma.

Diesel exhaust (DE) can enter the organism body and cause multiple organ damage. DE contains particles that can be suspended in the air for a long time. Epigenetic regulation is a post transcriptional regulation change that does not involve DNA sequence changes. Many evidences showed that DE can affect the normal physiological functions of multiple organs and systems through epigenetic changes, thus regulating the occurrence and development of multiple diseases. This paper reviewed the research progress of DNA methylation and non-coding RNA in the biological harmful effects of DE. This will provide a basis for the safety evaluation, health risk assessment, and management of DE.

Potato common scab, caused mainly by Streptomyces scabies, causes surface necrosis and reduces the economic value of potato tubers, but effective chemical control is still lacking. In this study, an attempt was made to control potato common scab by inoculating potatoes with Bacillus velezensis (B. velezensis) and to further investigate the mechanism of biological control. The results showed that B. velezensis Y6 could reduce the disease severity of potato common scab from 49.92 ± 25.74% [inoculated with Streptomyces scabies (S. scabies) only] to 5.56 ± 1.89% (inoculated with S. scabies and Y6 on the same day) and increase the potato yield by 37.32% compared with the control under pot experiment in this study. Moreover, in the field trial, it was found that Y6 could also significantly reduce disease severity from 13.20 ± 1.00% to 4.00 ± 0.70% and increase the potato yield from 2.07 ± 0.10 ton/mu to 2.87 ± 0.28 ton/mu (p

The relay protection device is the core equipment that ensures the safe and stable operation of a power grid. With the open access of a large number of distributed generation, DC transmission and electric vehicles, a new deep low-carbon power system dominated by power electronic devices has gradually been formed. It is difficult for the traditional control and protection architecture, methods, and technology to meet the business characteristics and functional requirements of a diversified interaction, agile response, safety, and credibility of the power grid in the future. This paper presents a chip-based relay protection technology based on system-on-chip (SoC), which is described from four aspects, namely, the architectural design of the relay protection SoC, software and hardware cooperative relay protection based on the SoC IP core, experimental verification, and engineering application. The results show that the relay protection SoC proposed in this paper has significantly improved the performance of high-speed data acquisition and interaction through hardware algorithm engine acceleration and software and hardware collaborative computing, which is helpful to realize the local equipment operation and the integration of primary and secondary equipment, shorten the protection action time, and improve the speed, reliability, and stability of relay protection devices.

Abstract Hematogenous metastasis is the main approach for colorectal cancer liver metastasis (CRCLM). However, as the gatekeepers in the tumor vessels, the role of TPCs in hematogenous metastasis remains largely unknown, which may be attributed to the lack of specific biomarkers for TPC isolation. Here, microdissection combined with a pericyte medium‐based approach is developed to obtain TPCs from CRC patients. Proteomic analysis reveals that TRP channel‐associated factor 2 (TCAF2), a partner protein of the transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily M member 8 (TRPM8), is overexpressed in TPCs from patients with CRCLM. TCAF2 in TPCs is correlated with liver metastasis, short overall survival, and disease‐free survival in CRC patients. Gain‐ and loss‐of‐function experiments validate that TCAF2 in TPCs promotes tumor cell motility, epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT), and CRCLM, which is attenuated in pericyte‐conditional Tcaf2‐knockout mice. Mechanistically, TCAF2 inhibits the expression and activity of TRPM8, leading to Wnt5a secretion in TPCs, which facilitates EMT via the activation of the STAT3 signaling pathway in tumor cells. Menthol, a TRPM8 agonist, significantly suppresses Wnt5a secretion in TPCs and CRCLM. This study reveals the previously unidentified pro‐metastatic effects of TPCs from the perspective of cold‐sensory receptors, providing a promising diagnostic biomarker and therapeutic target for CRCLM.

To solve the problems of convolutional neural network–principal component analysis (CNN-PCA) in fine description and generalization of complex reservoir geological features, a 3D attention U-Net network was proposed not using a trained C3D video motion analysis model to extract the style of a 3D model, and applied to complement the details of geologic model lost in the dimension reduction of PCA method in this study. The 3D attention U-Net network was applied to a complex river channel sandstone reservoir to test its effects. The results show that compared with CNN-PCA method, the 3D attention U-Net network could better complement the details of geological model lost in the PCA dimension reduction, better reflect the fluid flow features in the original geologic model, and improve history matching results.

Abstract Background Malaria remains a serious threat to global public health. With poor efficacies of vaccines and the emergence of drug resistance, novel strategies to control malaria are urgently needed. Results We developed erythrocyte membrane-camouflaged nanoparticles loaded with artemether based on the growth characteristics of Plasmodium. The nanoparticles could capture the merozoites to inhibit them from repeatedly infecting normal erythrocytes, owing to the interactions between merozoites and heparin-like molecules on the erythrocyte membrane. Modification with a phosphatidylserine-targeting peptide (CLIPPKF) improved the drug accumulation in infected red blood cells (iRBCs) from the externalized phosphatidylserine induced by Plasmodium infection. In Plasmodium berghei ANKA strain (pbANKA)-infected C57BL/6 mice, the nanoparticles significantly attenuated Plasmodium-induced inflammation, apoptosis, and anemia. We observed reduced weight variation and prolonged survival time in pbANKA-challenged mice, and the nanoparticles showed good biocompatibility and negligible cytotoxicity. Conclusion Erythrocyte membrane-camouflaged nanoparticles loaded with artemether were shown to provide safe and effective protection against Plasmodium infection. Graphical Abstract

Background: Previous studies have established blood pressure (BP) as a pivotal factor influencing no-reflow following primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients with ST-elevation acute coronary infarction (STEMI). However, no relevant study has been conducted to investigate the optimal range of BP associated with the lowest risk of no-reflow among STEMI patients so far. Therefore, our objective was to evaluate the association between pre-PCI BP and the occurrence of no-reflow in patients with STEMI. Method: We included 1025 STEMI patients undergoing primary PCI. The BP pre-PCI was categorized into 20-mmHg increments. Logistic models were employed to assess the association of no-reflow with systolic blood pressure (SBP) or diastolic blood pressure (DBP). Three sensitivity analyses were conducted to further confirm the robustness of the association between blood pressure and no-reflow. The Gaussian process method is employed to analyze the light curves of bursts detected by Insight-HXMT, Neutron Star Interior Composition Explorer (NICER), and Gravitational Wave High-energy Electromagnetic Counterpart All-sky Monitor from SGR 1935+2154 between 2020 and 2022. It is found that a stochastically driven damped simple harmonic oscillator (SHO) is necessary to capture the characteristics of the X-ray bursts (XRBs). A variability timescale of the XRBs, corresponding to the broken frequencies in the SHO power spectral densities (PSDs), is extracted. In particular, a high broken frequency of 35 Hz where the index of the SHO PSD changes from −4 to −2 is constrained by the HXMT-HE burst associated with fast radio burst (FRB) 200428. It is suggested that the corresponding timescale of 0.03 s could be the retarding timescale of the system driven by some energy release, and the production of the HE photon should be quasi-simultaneous with the response. The other special event is a NICER burst with a retarding timescale of 1/(39 Hz) ≈ 0.02 s. In the normal XRBs, no retarding timescale is constrained; a long relax/equilibrium timescale (corresponding to a broken frequency of 1–10 Hz, where the index of the SHO PSD changes from −4/−2 to 0 in the SHO PSD) is obtained. The results indicate that the FRB-associated HXMT-HE XRB could be produced immediately when the system is responding to the energy disturbance, far before the equilibrium state.

Strong gravitational lensing is a powerful tool for investigating dark matter and dark energy properties. With the advent of large-scale sky surveys, we can discover strong-lensing systems on an unprecedented scale, which requires efficient tools to extract them from billions of astronomical objects. The existing mainstream lens-finding tools are based on machine-learning algorithms and applied to cutout-centered galaxies. However, according to the design and survey strategy of optical surveys by the China Space Station Telescope (CSST), preparing cutouts with multiple bands requires considerable efforts. To overcome these challenges, we have developed a framework based on a hierarchical visual transformer with a sliding window technique to search for strong-lensing systems within entire images. Moreover, given that multicolor images of strong-lensing systems can provide insights into their physical characteristics, our framework is specifically crafted to identify strong-lensing systems in images with any number of channels. As evaluated using CSST mock data based on a semianalytic model named CosmoDC2, our framework achieves precision and recall rates of 0.98 and 0.90, respectively. To evaluate the effectiveness of our method in real observations, we have applied it to a subset of images from the DESI Legacy Imaging Surveys and media images from Euclid Early Release Observations. A total of 61 new strong-lensing system candidates are discovered by our method. However, we also identified false positives arising primarily from the simplified galaxy morphology assumptions within the simulation. This underscores the practical limitations of our approach while simultaneously highlighting potential avenues for future improvements.
