Pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS) is a benign but locally aggressive neoplasm that can affect tendon sheath, bursae, or joint. The wrist joint however is uncommonly involved and here we present a case of chronic monoarticular joint pain and swelling in a healthcare professional that was later histologically verified to be PVNS of the radiocarpal joint. The patient had a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) performed prior to surgery which showed a locally invasive bony tumor of the scaphoid. He subsequently underwent a wrist arthroscopic evaluation and resection with bone grafting as the index surgery and made an uneventful postoperative recovery. This is a novel technique to address PVNS of the wrist as these cases are usually managed using open procedures which can lead to additional scarring and disrupt the blood supply of the joint capsule.

Circularly polarized multi‐resonance thermally activated delayed fluorescence (CP‐MR‐TADF) materials, capable of achieving circularly polarized luminescence (CPL), play a crucial role in the field of 3D display. In this study, two pairs of axial chiral MR‐TADF enantiomers, (R/S)‐S‐AX‐BN and (R/S)‐SO2‐AX‐BN, are synthesized by fusing biphenyl skeletons containing sulfur/sulfone with classic B/N‐embedded polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. These compounds exhibit good photophysical properties with intense CPL. (R/S)‐S‐AX‐BN and (R/S)‐SO2‐AX‐BN display green photoluminescence, with peaks at 489 and 495 nm, full‐width at half‐maximum (FWHM) values of 21 and 20 nm in toluene, and dissymmetry factors (|gPL|) of 3.5 × 10−3 and 2.3 × 10−3 in doped films, respectively. Additionally, circularly polarized organic light‐emitting diodes (CP‐OLEDs) fabricated from (R/S)‐S‐AX‐BN and (R/S)‐SO2‐AX‐BN exhibit narrow electroluminescence (EL) spectra with FWHMs of 22 and 21 nm. These CP‐OLEDs achieve high maximum external quantum efficiencies of 33.5% and 31.5%, with relatively low efficiency roll‐offs. Furthermore, they exhibit high |gEL| factors of 3.3 × 10−3 and 2.2 × 10−3, respectively, representing the highest values among axial chiral analogs. This work introduces a novel approach for designing axial chiral CP‐MR‐TADF molecules and provides a reference for fabricating narrowband CP‐OLEDs with high efficiency and intense CPL. The chiral materials and circularly polarized organic light‐emitting diodes (CP‐OLEDs) have potential applications in 3D display due to the generation of circularly polarized luminescence (CPL). However, achieving a combination of chirality, high efficiency, and narrowband emission for thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) materials has proven to be a challenging endeavor, often involving complicated synthesis and chiral separation processes. In this study, a simple design approach is introduced by direct connection of the multiple resonance (MR) skeleton and chiral (R/S)‐1,1′‐binaphthyl units, obtaining two pairs of chiral MR‐TADF enantiomers (R/S)‐DtCzB‐OBN and (R/S)‐DtCzB‐BN without chiral resolution. These enantiomers exhibit blue‐green emissions with photoluminescence quantum efficiencies of up to 98% in doped films and full‐width at half‐maximum of 22 nm both in toluene and in the device. Furthermore, (R/S)‐DtCzB‐OBN and (R/S)‐DtCzB‐BN display symmetric CPL spectra with dissymmetry factors (gPL) of + 3.86(± 0.317) × 10−4/‐3.37(± 0.317) × 10−4 and + 7.09(± 0.233) × 10−4/‐7.74(± 0.233) × 10−4, respectively. The CP‐OLEDs based on (R/S)‐DtCzB‐OBN and (R/S)‐DtCzB‐BN exhibit impressive maximum external quantum efficiencies of 30.0% and 33.9%, as well as gEL factors of +3.40(± 0.362) × 10−4/‐3.11(± 0.362) × 10−4 and + 7.99(± 0.391) × 10−4/‐8.19(± 0.391) × 10−4, respectively. Jinan City in China is known for its abundant spring water, and the protection of underground spring water transport channels is a key issue that needs to be paid attention to in Jinan subway construction. In areas where underground spring water transport channels are easily disturbed, when the shield tunnel passes through a composite formation with a permeable layer in the middle and an impermeable layer in the upper and lower parts, the underground spring water transportation channel is blocked, the spring veins are damaged, and the underground spring water is blocked in the upstream, resulting in an increase in the water pressure difference on both sides of the tunnel. In this paper, based on the working principle of a new type of pipe segment with a diversion function, a diversion function pipe model test box is designed and fabricated. Using this model box, the working state of the diversion function pipe segments is simulated. An earth pressure box and pore water pressure gauges are embedded in the model box to measure the earth pressure and pore pressure around the pipe under seepage unsymmetrical pressure. Strain gauges are attached in a circular shape on the inner side of the pipe to measure and calculate the strain and stress of the pipe. Through model tests, the effective repair of the diversion pipe on blocking groundwater flow and the relief effect of the unsymmetrical pressure of the pipe are verified. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The existing biomedical event trigger detection methods have the following defects: Redundant information unrelated to triggers are retained; potential correlations between entities and events are ignored; traditional methods are vulnerable to data scarcity. A biomedical event trigger detection based on two-stage question answering paradigm is proposed to address the above problems. In the event type identification phase, in order to exclude the interference of irrelevant information, the attention based on syntactic distance is allowed to capture more meaningful contextual features. In order to effectively utilize the potential features in the entities, the word-entity-event co-occurrence feature based on global statistics is used to guide event type aware attention to explore the strong relationship between words and events. In the trigger localization phase, the trigger index of the event in the sentence is answered according to the identified event type questions, thus leveraging the rich question answering database to achieve data enhancement. The results on the MLEE corpus show that the two-stage question answering paradigm, syntactic distance attention, and event type aware attention effectively improve the performance of the model, and the proposed model achieves 81.39% F1-score, outperforming other baseline models in terms of detailed results for multiple event types. Nb3Sn is emerging as one of the focal points in superconducting radio frequency (SRF) research, owing to its excellent superconducting properties. These properties hold significant possibilities for cost reduction and the miniaturization of accelerators. In this paper, we report the recent efforts of the Shanghai Advanced Research Institute (SARI) in fabricating high-performance Nb3Sn superconducting cavities using the vapor diffusion method. This includes the construction of a Nb3Sn coating system with dual evaporators and the test results of 1.3 GHz single-cell coated cavities. The coated samples were characterized, and the growth state of the Nb3Sn films was analyzed. The first coated superconducting cavity was tested at both 4.4 K and 2 K, with different cooldown rates passing through the Nb3Sn critical temperatures. The causes of Sn droplet spot defect formation on the surface of the first cavity were analyzed, and such defects were eliminated in the coating of the second cavity by controlling the evaporation rate. This study provides a reference for the preparation of high-performance Nb3Sn-coated cavities using the vapor diffusion method, including the setup of the coating system, the comprehension of the vapor diffusion process, and the test conditions. The refraction phenomenon causes ICESat-2 nearshore bathymetry errors by deviating seafloor photons' coordinates. A refraction correction method based on ATL03 photon parameter tracking was proposed to improve the ICESat-2 bathymetry accuracy. The method begins by searching for sea–air intersections using photon parameters. Instead of relying on mathematical operations, it uses logical relations to establish a relationship between the seafloor and the surface, which improves efficiency. Then, a refraction correction model is designed based on Snell's law for different sea surface fluctuations. This model is clear and suitable for scholars new to refraction correction. The results show the effectiveness of the proposed method since the RMSE is reduced by 1.8842 m~5.2319 m compared with the raw data. The study was to investigate the pathogenicity of Citrobacter freundii in mice and the preventive effect of oregano and cinnamon essential oils on the resistance of mice to Citrobacter freundii infection. For pathogenicity test, 30 mice were randomly divided into five groups. The mice in the control group were intraperitoneally injected with 0.2 mL normal saline. Mice in 1/2 times dose group, 1 times dose group, 2 times dose group and 4 times dose group were intraperitoneally injected with 2.5 x 109, 5.0 x 109, 1.0 x 1010, 2.0 x 1010 CFU/mL of Citrobacter freundii bacterial solution (100 µL/g body weight). In the prevention test, mice were randomly divided into the control group, the model group, the oregano essential oils group, the cinnamon essential oils group and the combination essential oils group (oregano and cinnamon essential oil combination), mice were injected intraperitoneally with Citrobacter freundii after 7 d of oral administration of essential oils, and the bacterial load, the levels of jejunal inflammatory cytokines and the pathological changes in the jejunum were observed. The results showed that mice infected with Citrobacter freundii showed clinical signs such as eye congestion and then convulsions and died. Essential oils prophylaxis improved the survival rate of mice, reduced the levels of organ carriage and inflammatory cytokines, and increased the number of intestinal villi and thickened the intestinal wall. The experiment indicates that Citrobacter freundii is highly pathogenic to mice. Essential oils prophylaxis can strengthen the intestinal barrier of mice, prevent the colonization of the liver and spleen of mice infected by Citrobacter freundii, reduce the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines in the jejunum of mice, and thus improve the survival rate of mice.
