This study aimed to prepare YAlO3 fibers doped with 2 mol% Er3+ using electrospinning and a carbon‐free sol system as the precursor. X‐ray diffraction, thermal gravimetry and differential thermal analysis, and Fourier transform infrared were employed to characterize the thermal behavior and crystallization process of the precursor fibers. Scanning electron microscope analysis showed that the Er3+:YAlO3 fibers had a uniform diameter of 1 μm, a dense and crack‐free surface, and a non‐porous cross‐section. Upon excitation at 450 and 488 nm, upconverted luminescence spectra were obtained from the Er3+:YAlO3 fibers. This observation indicates their potential as upconversion luminescent agents capable of converting visible light into ultraviolet light. These properties make the Er3+:YAlO3 fibers promising candidates for various upconversion luminescence applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper, SnO2 fibers with three-dimensional (3D) interconnected structure were successfully obtained by a simple electrospinning technique with both high quality and reproducibility. The microstructure, physicochemical properties were characterized (FT-IR, XRD, SEM, HR-TEM, TG-DSC, N2-BET, XPS, H2-TPR, O2-TPD) extensively. The catalytic activity was tested in temperature-programmed oxidation (TPO) of model soot. The influence of the heat-treated temperature on the catalysts physicochemical properties and reactivity was evaluated. The fibers were fluffy and self-supporting after heat-treated which could provide a beneficial environment favored by soot catalytic combustion. SnO2 fibers exhibited good thermal stability in phase structures and morphologies at least 900 °C. The SnF-500 exhibited the highest catalytic activity with T10, T50 and T90 at 410 °C, 450 °C and 474 °C. With the increase in the sintering temperature, the crystallinity of SnO2 fiber increases and the Sn–O-Sn bond strengthens, resulting in a decrease in the catalytic activity of the catalyst as the BET surface area and surface oxygen decrease. Lithium-ion batteries have been receiving more and more attention because of the energy crisis. As an important subassembly of lithium-ion batteries, the separator greatly affects the safety of the batteries. Herein, we report for the first time, a novel method fabricated separator by mixing zirconia fibers with polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) via papermaking process. The separators possess abundant pores and uniform structure after the phase inversion process. The separator properties were systematically studied at different proportion of PVDF. We find that when the content of PVDF is 40%, the separator has high porosity (77.69%), high electrolyte uptake (523.3%), and excellent thermal stability (thermal shrinkage ratio is 0% at 500 °C). In addition, the rate capability, cycle performance, and ionic conductivity are also investigated. We anticipate that the papermaking method of zirconia fibers will provide a strategy to fabricate a promising separator for enhanced electrochemical performance and high safety of lithium-ion batteries. Lithium zirconate (Li2ZrO3) has been extensively studied as CO2 capture material, electrolyte material and coating material. Most of the previous studies were focused on the powder structure, while seldom taking a consideration of fiber structure. In the present work, dense and porous Li2ZrO3 nanofibers with surface area of 16 m2 g−1 were prepared by electrospinning method. IR spectral results showed that lithium carbonate was the intermediate for the formation of Li2ZrO3. The phase transformation of Li2ZrO3 underwent the pathway of amorphous precursor fibers, tetragonal zirconia and Li2CO3, tetragonal Li2ZrO3, and monoclinic Li2ZrO3. XRD and XPS results further suggested that Li2O diffusion from the fiber body to surface occurred for Li2ZrO3 nanofibers when heat-treated above 900 °C, and the tetragonal Li2ZrO3 with high surface area could be obtained at 800 °C. Bamboo structure appeared both for the dense and porous nanofibers heat-treated at 1000 °C. The high surface area and high thermal stability of tetragonal phase of Li2ZrO3 make it a promising candidate in CO2 absorption, electrolyte and coating material. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Herein, a novel colorless anti-counterfeiting luminous ink composite material, to the best of our knowledge, was prepared by incorporating upconverted persistent luminescent Z n 3 G a 2 S n O 8 :1 % C r 3+ , 5 % Y b 3+ , 0.5 % E r 3+ (ZGSO: Cr,Yb,Er) phosphors into a resin solution, followed by stirring. Owing to its small particle size and uniform distribution, ZGSO: Cr, Yb, Er exhibits long-lasting, persistent near-infrared emission at 696 nm following the stoppage of excitation by a 274 nm ultraviolet light and a 980 nm excitation. ZGSO: Cr, Yb, Er composites were prepared and exhibited characteristic peaks corresponding to upconversion and an afterglow curve following excitation at 980 nm. With various special luminescent modes, sharp emission peaks, and emission intensity varying over time, the emission light of composite ink is easy to detect and not easily confused. Furthermore, the prepared composite ink can be calligraphic, visualized, and observable, and has good light-emitting performance following UV excitation. Our work provides a meaningful way to fabricate multifunctional anti-counterfeiting luminous ink composites with an intense persistent luminescence for use in anti-counterfeiting signs, inspection imaging, and other complex industrial applications.

One-dimension ZrO 2 mesoporous fibers were successfully synthesized by utilizing the electrospinning device combining with the soft-template method. The morphology and composite of the fibers were characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM, FT-IR, TGA/DSC and XPS, and the pore structure and surface area were calculated according the BET measured results. The fluoride adsorption performance of the fibers was investigated and the adsorption capacity was upto 297.70 mg g -1 . Moreover, the equilibrium concentration could be reached to 1.41 mg L -1 with the initial of 30 mg L -1 , and the removal rate could be reached to 95.3%. The adsorption data were well fitted with the Freundlich isotherm model and pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The fibers had a good reusability and long-term utilization for fluoride adsorption. All the results suggested that the as-prepared ZrO 2 mesoporous fibers with high surface area could be an excellent adsorbent for the wastewater defluoridation treatment., (Copyright © 2017.
