8. Synergistic Evolution in the Digital Transformation of the Whole Rural E-Commerce Industry Chain: A Game Analysis Using Prospect Theory.

Abstract

In the big data era, global business competition focuses on industrial chain coordination. The whole rural e-commerce industry chain, as an advanced system characterized by digital transformation, is experiencing rapid growth. This paper aims to explore the evolutionary mechanism of collaborative behavior in the digital transformation of platform enterprises and participating enterprises across the whole rural e-commerce industry chain. To achieve this, this paper combines prospect theory and evolutionary game theory, introduces the value function and decision weight of prospect theory, and constructs a two-party game model between platform enterprises and participating enterprises. Based on the demonstration of the impact of individual changes in major objective factors, such as the cooperative innovation benefit coefficient, as well as major behavioral characteristic factors, such as decision-makers' risk attitude coefficients, on enterprises' strategic choices, we further reveal the influence of the interaction of key factors on the evolutionary results through case simulations. The findings indicate that when the behavior characteristics of the players are introduced, the threshold interval of the cost–benefit ratio of the two sides to reach the optimal state of decision-making is obviously reduced. Under moderate risk attitudes and degrees of loss sensitivity, enhancing the resource absorption capacity of enterprises in the chain and reducing the potential risk loss of platform enterprises to alleviate the influence of subjective behavior characteristics on cooperation willingness are effective measures. Improving innovation ability is the key factor in alleviating the negative impact of uncertainty on the decision-making of both parties. This paper is one of the few studies to integrate prospect theory with evolutionary game analysis in examining the collaborative behaviors between platform enterprises and participating enterprises. Abstract

Diffusion MRI (dMRI) reveals microstructural features of the brain white matter by quantifying the anisotropic diffusion of water molecules within axonal bundles. Yet, identifying features such as axonal orientation dispersion, density, diameter, etc., in complex white matter fiber configurations (e.g. crossings) has proved challenging. Besides optimized data acquisition and advanced biophysical models, computational procedures to fit such models to the data are critical. However, these procedures have been largely overlooked by the dMRI microstructure community and new, more versatile, approaches are needed to solve complex biophysical model fitting problems. Existing methods are limited to models assuming single fiber orientation, relevant to limited brain areas like the corpus callosum, or multiple orientations but without the ability to extract detailed microstructural features. Here, we introduce a new and versatile optimization technique (MIX), which enables microstructure imaging of crossing white matter fibers. We provide a MATLAB implementation of MIX, and demonstrate its applicability to general microstructure models in fiber crossings using synthetic as well as ex-vivo and in-vivo brain data.

Abstract

BACKGROUND Ketamine has emerged as one of the most promising therapies for treatment-resistant depression. However, inter-individual variability in response to ketamine is still not well understood and it is unclear how ketamine's molecular mechanisms connect to its neural and behavioral effects. METHODS We conducted a single-blind placebo-controlled study, with participants blinded to their treatment condition. 40 healthy participants received acute ketamine (initial bolus 0.23 mg/kg, continuous infusion 0.58 mg/kg/hr). We quantified resting-state functional connectivity via data-driven global brain connectivity and related it to individual ketamine-induced symptom variation and cortical gene expression targets. RESULTS We found that: (i) both the neural and behavioral effects of acute ketamine are multi-dimensional, reflecting robust inter-individual variability; (ii) ketamine's data-driven principal neural gradient effect matched somatostatin (SST) and parvalbumin (PVALB) cortical gene expression patterns in humans, while the mean effect did not; and (iii) behavioral data-driven individual symptom variation mapped onto distinct neural gradients of ketamine, which were resolvable at the single-subject level. CONCLUSIONS These results highlight the importance of considering individual behavioral and neural variation in response to ketamine. They also have implications for the development of individually precise pharmacological biomarkers for treatment selection in psychiatry. Abstract

With the profound integration of digital technology and traditional agriculture, the whole industry chain of rural e-commerce, as an advanced system, is reshaping the production, sales, and management models of agriculture and is emerging as a new catalyst for the advancement of digital agriculture through significant innovation. This paper focuses on the digital empowerment attributes and strategic attributes of the whole industrial chain of rural e-commerce, and evolutionary game models under market mechanisms and regulations are constructed. It examines the influence of various elements, such as the digital technology empowerment coefficient, on collaborative innovation within the whole industry chain of rural e-commerce. Using case simulations, this paper discusses the role of government regulation and intervention when market mechanisms are inadequate. The study reveals that factors such as the digital technology empowerment coefficient, technology absorptive capacity, and the amount of technology and information stored in collaborative innovation positively influence the whole industry chain. Potential risk losses and free-rider gains have negative effects on the evolution of the system toward collaborative innovation. When market mechanisms are inadequate, a combination of operational cost subsidies and incentive measures can yield more effective policy synergy, with the incentive impact of cost subsidies being particularly notable. The strategic application of enterprise-liquidated damage and government penalties will aid in regulating and directing corporate behavior. The findings of this research not only offer a new microlevel explanation for understanding the decision-making mechanism behind collaborative innovation in the whole industrial chain of rural e-commerce but also serve as a reference for government policy formulation to ensure the stability of the whole rural e-commerce industry chain. Abstract

PurposeTo evaluate optic nerve diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) parameters in glaucoma patients and controls, and to correlate DTI parameters with the rim area obtained with Heidelberg retina tomography (HRT) and with the severity of glaucomatous damage using the Glaucoma Staging System.DesignPilot study.MethodsTwenty-seven patients with glaucoma and 12 control subjects underwent DTI and HRT imaging. Main outcome measures included: fractional anisotropy, mean diffusivity, axial diffusivity, radial diffusivity, HRT rim area, and Glaucoma Staging System stage.ResultsIn group comparison, mean diffusivity (1.33 vs. 0.91 μm/ms, P=0.0002), axial diffusivity (1.70 vs. 1.43 μm/ms, P=0.036), and radial diffusivity (1.24 vs. 0.71 μm/ms, P0.05).ConclusionsDTI may be a useful technique for detection and evaluation of glaucomatous damage in the optic nerve, particularly for patients in whom conventional imaging and perimetry are not possible. Future studies are needed to evaluate how DTI parameters change longitudinally with glaucomatous damage within the visual pathways and address cerebrospinal fluid partial volume effects in diffusion tensor quantification, especially for patients with advanced glaucoma stage.

Abstract

Floating exchange rate has recently become more volatile after the collapse of the Bretton Woods system in 1973. Impediments to trade introduce price differentials and deviations from the law of one price and even diminish trade transactions. Uncertainty can be an example of an impediment to trade. The central objective of the thesis has been to analyse trade costs and exchange rate volatility and their role in bilateral trade, with particular reference to developed countries and Asia developing countries. This thesis contains three main parts as follows: Chapter Two investigates the purchasing power parity hypothesis by testing the real exchange rates using the Robinson (1994)’s fractional integration approach as well as conventional unit root tests. Chapter Three is a panel data study on the impact of relative trade barriers on bilateral exports using gravity model. In the first step the impact of the technology factor along with geographical factors, institutional factors on bilateral transportation costs is investigated. In the second step, GMM and an instrumental variable approach are used to tackle the econometric problem of endogeneity. Chapter Four and Five investigates the impact of both real and nominal exchange-rate volatility on the UK aggregate and disaggregate bilateral trade flows.
