AIM: To evaluate the clinical efficacy of corneal stromal lenticule-combined accelerated transepithelial corneal collagen cross-linking(SC-A-TE-CXL)in the treatment of severe keratoconus.METHODS: Prospective before-after self-control study. A total of 10 cases(14 eyes)of severe keratoconus with the thinnest corneal thickness(including epithelium)less than 400 μm were collected from March 2019 to July 2022 at the ophthalmology department of Affiliated Eye Hospital of Nanjing Medical University. Among them, 8 males(12 eyes)and 2 females(2 eyes)were treated with SC-A-TE-CXL. Corneal curvature, uncorrected visual acuity(UCVA), best corrected visual acuity(BCVA), the thinnest corneal thickness(TCT), central corneal thickness(CCT), non-contact intraocular pressure, endothelial cell density(ECD)and anterior or posterior elevations at the thinnest point before surgery and at 1, 3, 6 and 12 mo postoperatively were observed and recorded, as well as corneal cross-linking depth at 1 mo postoperatively.RESULTS: UCVA and BCVA at 1, 3, 6, and 12 mo after SC-A-TE-CXL were higher than those preoperatively, but there were no differences(F=0.793, P=0.535; F=0.783, P=0.542). K1, K2, Km and Kmax decreased at each time point postoperatively compared with those preoperatively, but there were no differences(F=0.627, P=0.574; F=1.264, P=0.296; F=0.727, P=0.520; F=1.115, P=0.359). Anterior and posterior elevations at the thinnest point both decreased compared with those preoperatively, but the differences were not statistically significant(F=1.046, P=0.359; F=1.164, P=0.337). The non-contact intraocular pressure at each time point postoperatively was higher than that preoperatively, but the differences were not statistically significant(F=0.814, P=0.522). There were no differences in CCT and TCT at any time points of the follow-ups compared with those preoperatively(F=0.931, P=0.453; F=0.782, P=0.542). There was no difference in ECD at 12 mo postoperatively versus preoperative value(t=1.266, P=0.228). At 1 mo postoperatively, anterior segment optical coherence tomography(AS-OCT)exhibited an increase of density in the anterior stroma, and there was a demarcation line with an average depth of 124.07±25.13 μm.CONCLUSION: SC-A-TE-CXL can be considered as a surgical treatment for severe keratoconus, which can delay the progression of severe keratoconus with high safety. However, the long-term efficacy of this treatment requires further observation.

To replace traditional phosphating and hexavalent chromium passivation technologies， which cause serious environmental pollution，a silane passivation solution was prepared.This solution was composed of amino silicone resin， polyurethane resin and inorganic metal.It was then coated on the degreased aluminum plate surface to form an organic-inorganic hybrid film.The study investigated the effects of various factors on the corrosion resistance of the hybrid membrane: the pH value of the passivation solution， the mass fractions of amino silicone resin and polyurethane resin and the types of inorganic metal ions (Zn2＋， Mn2＋， Ni3＋and Ce3＋).The morphology and structure of the hybrid membrane were characterized by infrared spectrum (IR)， scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA).Characterizing the corrosion resistance of hybrid membrane by measuring the open circuit potential， EIS spectrum and Tafel polarization curve of aluminum plates coated with hybrid membrane under different conditions through electrochemical experiments.Results showed that the hybrid membrane exhibited good corrosion resistance when the pH value was around 4.5， the mass fraction of amino silicone resin was 15.0%， the mass fraction of polyurethane resin was 10.0%， and the metal ion was 1.5%Zn2＋.

Transfer RNA‐derived fragments (tRFs) represent a novel class of non‐coding RNA transcripts that possess specific biological functions. However, the involvement of tRFs in retinal microvascular diseases remains poorly understood. In this study, we aimed to reveal whether modulation of tRF‐30 expression could attenuate pathological retinal neovascular diseases. Our findings demonstrate a significant upregulation of tRF‐30 expression levels in both in vivo models of diabetic retinopathy (DR) and in vitro endothelial sprouting models. Conversely, inhibition of tRF‐30 expression suppressed the formation of abnormal neovascularization in the retina in vivo, while reducing the proliferation and migration activity of retinal vascular endothelial cells in vitro. We also found that tRF‐30 modulates retinal neovascularization through the tRF‐30/TRIB3/signal transducer and activated transcription 3 signaling pathway. Furthermore, we validated a significant upregulation of tRF‐30 expression levels in the vitreous humor of DR patients, with high levels of both validity and specificity in diagnostic testing. Collectively, our findings highlight a pro‐angiogenic role for tRF‐30 in DR. Intervening in the tRF‐30 signaling pathway may represent a promising prevention and treatment strategy for retinal angiogenesis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the research on sustainable mining and environmental preservation, understanding the dynamic behaviour of rock formations in deep, high-stress mining environments is essential. In order to acquire the laws of rock dynamic disaster generation from mining in deep, high-stress environments, this research adopts a multistage and multi-cycle triaxial cyclic loading test to obtain the stress–strain curves and macroscopic deformation characteristics of hard sandstone under different surrounding pressures. The results show that the cumulative damage displacement of hard sandstone under cyclic loading at a certain stress level for the first 3–4 cycles is half of the total damage displacement at that cycle stage, and its peak volumetric strain will increase with the increase. The elastic energy density ratio and dissipation energy density ratio of hard sandstone under cyclic loading show a sinusoidal fluctuation trend, and the fluctuation gradually decreases with the increase in the number of cycles and the increase in the cyclic stress level. Under the cyclic loading of different surrounding pressures, the hard sandstone shows brittle damage characteristics, where the damage form is mainly shear damage with a small amount of tensile damage in low surrounding pressure and the damage form is mainly shear damage, tensile damage, and local compression damage in high surrounding pressure. The study reveals the deformation and damage law, energy evolution, and dissipation characteristics of high-strength hard sandstone. Aiming at the problem of the low reuse rate of mine water due to the high content of heavy metals in mine water, in this research, the microcharacterization means of EDX, XRD, BET, SEM, and FT-IR were used to characterize the nonstick coal in a mine in western China. The effects of solid–liquid ratio, solution pH, solution temperature, adsorption time, and initial concentration of the solution on the adsorption of Fe(II) by the nonstick coal were analyzed. The adsorption performance of nonstick coal on adsorbed Fe(II) was analyzed under different influencing factors. The results showed that the adsorption capacity and unit removal rate of the coal samples gradually decreased with the increase in the solid–liquid ratio; the adsorption amount increased with the increase in pH in an "S" shape, and the adsorption effect was better in the range of pH = 5~7; and the adsorption amount increased linearly with the temperature. The quasi-secondary kinetic model and Langmuir model could fit the adsorption kinetic curve and isothermal adsorption curve better, which indicated that the adsorption of Fe(II) by the nonstick coal was dominated by the chemical adsorption of the monomolecular layer. The quantitative analysis of the FT-IR results showed that the adsorption of Fe(II) was mainly by complexation with -OH detached from the coal samples to produce precipitation. By using the literature, logical analysis, field investigations and in-depth interview, this paper analyzes the current situation of the implementation of physical education entrance examination policy for senior high school from the five dimensions itself, namely policy implementation mechanism, policy subject and object, policy resources and policy environment. Researches believe that the lack of policy programs, the imperfect policy system, the obstruction of policy implementation mechanisms, the divergence of interests between policy subjects and objects, the shortage and imbalance of policy resources, and the increased competitiveness of senior high school entrance examinations are all the restrictive factors in the implementation of physical education entrance examination policy for senior high school. Based on these above, in the continuous advancement of the physical education entrance examination, we should establish a policy goal with the development of students' physical literacy as the core, and continuously improve the physical education entrance examination policy system, and improve the quality of the policy itself; promoting from a high level, implement it at various levels, as well as the linkage of the education department mechanism; strengthening the propaganda and guidance of policies, seeking policy recognition from target groups, and forming a unified "objective function" among society, schools, and families; highlighting the dominant position of teachers, and increasing the importance of physical education teachers, along with the continuous investment for school physical education equipment construction.
