Virtual battlefield environment is the use of computer technology, graphics technology and virtual reality technology to the real battle space in the computer. As technology advances and development, virtual battlefield environment system has been applied more and more combat troops and combat command being. Virtual Battlefield Environment Simulation System is a system for the commander to provide a realistic battlefield environment to facilitate their understanding of the terrain, the battlefield awareness information. In this paper, two-dimensional battlefield maps based on MapObject structures and the construction of three-dimensional virtual battlefield environment problem, a second, three-dimensional virtual battlefield environment with the rapid construction techniques. Operational commanders can quickly build a virtual battlefield, not only from the macro real-time battlefield information and to grasp the battlefield situation, but also learned from the battlefield of detailed microscopic details.

Four high-purity germanium 4-fold segmented Clover detectors have been applied in the experiment of neutron-rich nucleus 21N. The performance of those four Clovers have been tested with radioactive sources and in-beam experiments, and the main results including energy resolution, peak-to-total ratios, the variation of the hit pattern distribution in different crystals of one Clover detector with the energy of γ ray, and absolute full energy peak detection efficiency curve, were presented.

The reaction cross section of B-17 on C-12 target at (43.7 +/- 2.4) MeV/u has been measured at the Radioactive Ion Beam Line in Lanzhou (RIBLL). The root-mean-square matter radius (R-rms) was deduced to be (2.92 +/- 0.10) fm, while the R-rms of the core and the valence neutron distribution are 2.28 fm and 5.98 fm respectively. Assuming a "core plus 2n" structure in B-17, the mixed configuration of (2s(1/2)) and (1d(5/2)) of the valence neutrons is studied and the s-wave spectroscopic factor is found to be (80 +/- 21)%.

The β-delayed neutron and γ energy spectra taken from the decay of neutron-rich nucleus 21N were measured by using the β–γ and β – n coincidence detection method. Thirteen new neutron groups ranging from 0.28MeV to 4.98MeV and with a total branching ratio of 88.7 ± 4.2% were observed and presented. One γ transition with an energy of 1222keV emitted from the excited state of 21O, and four γ transitions with energies of 1674, 2397, 2780, and 3175keV emitted from the excited states of 20O were identified in the β decay chain of 21N. The β decay half-life for 21N is determined to be 82.9 ± 1.9 ms. The uncertainty of half-life is much smaller than the previous result.

A novel Micro-pattern gaseous detector (MPGD), thick GEM with electrodes made of a resistive material (RETGEM) is presented. In this paper we mainly investigate the energy resolution of a RETGEM in Ar + CO2 with different gas mixtures. The results indicate that an energy resolution 30% in single and double mode can be obtained. The existence of an optimum energy resolution is discussed.

The differential cross sections of 17F and 17O elastic scattering products on 208Pb have been measured at the Radioactive Ion Beam Line at Lanzhou (RIBLL). Two angular dispersion plots of ln (dσ/dθ) versus θ2 are obtained from the angular distribution of the elastic scattering differential cross sections. The angular dispersion plot exhibits a clear turning point for 17F in the range of small scattering angles 6°–20° due to its exotic structure, but for 17O, the turning point is not observed in the same angular range. The experimental results have been compared with previous data of other groups. Systematical analysis on the available data supports the above conclusion that there is an exotic behaviour of the angular dispersion plot of weakly bound nuclei with halo or skin structure as compared with that of the ordinary nuclei near stable line. Therefore the turning point of the angular dispersion plot appears at small angle for weakly bound nuclei with halo or skin structure, and can be used as a new probe to investigate the halo and skin phenomena of weakly bound nuclei.

Differential cross sections for the quasi-elastic scattering of C-16 at 47.5 MeV/nucleon from C-12 target are measured. Coupled-channels calculations are carried out and the optical potential parameters are obtained by fitting the experimental angular distribution.

The total reaction cross section of 17B on C target has been measured by using the transmission method at the Radioactive Ion Beam Line in Lanzhou (RIBLL). Assuming 17B consisting of a core 15B plus two halo neutrons, the total cross section of 17B on C target was calculated with the zero-range Glauber model where Gaussian plus HO density distributions were used. It fitted the experimental data very well. A large diffusion was found about the density distribution of 17B. Based on the analysis, the two neutrons halo of 17B was confirmed.
