Abstract Freeze–thaw cycles are frequently overlooked as a pivotal factor contributing to leakage and structural failures in clayey soil-impermeable barriers used in landfills or tailings repositories in regions subject to seasonal freezing. This investigation explores the recovery and residual strength properties of Jilin ball clay undergoing six freeze–thaw cycles, and assesses the pore structure characteristics through a series of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) tests. The results indicate that normal stress has a greater impact on peak recovery strength than dry density and rest periods. Cohesion increases earlier and more significantly during rest periods compared to internal friction angle. Although the pore diameter remains consistent within the micropores during the freeze–thaw cycles, the soil’s structural integrity undergoes notable changes. The concluding analysis provides valuable insights for the construction and management of impermeable barriers in landfills or tailings repositories within seasonally frozen areas.

Abstract Currently, the treatment of miscellaneous fill foundations, composed of a mixture of domestic garbage, construction solid waste, and natural soil, presents a significant challenge in urban peripheral engineering construction. This paper discusses the application of vibrating rod compaction technology for foundation treatment in Xinjiang. It evaluates the effectiveness of cross-section vibrating rod compaction equipment in reinforcing fine-grained miscellaneous fill foundations. The study analyzes the impact of construction disturbances caused by the insertion of the vibrating rod, monitoring horizontal stresses at various depths. Both laboratory and field tests show significant improvements: soil dry density increased by 8% to 18%, porosity decreased by 10% to 23%, compression modulus increased by 22% to 246%, and compression coefficient decreased by 8% to 70%. Additionally, cohesion (C) and angle of friction (ɸ) saw increases ranging from 7 to 38% and 3% to 25%, respectively. Below a depth of 3 m, cone tip resistance exceeded 10 MPa, and sidewall friction resistance increased to over 100 kPa, surpassing pre-treatment values. The standard penetration test results doubled stroke length compared to pre-treatment, indicating a substantial improvement in foundation bearing capacity. Surface wave tests before and after treatment showed a 15% increase in wave velocity, reflecting a more compact soil structure. The vibrating rod compaction method is innovative, energy-efficient, environmentally friendly, and economically beneficial, holding great potential for future miscellaneous fill treatments.

IgA deficiency allergic transfusion reaction often occurs in patients with anti-IgA. When blood products containing IgA are transfused into these patients, it may lead to severe allergic transfusion reactions, which can be fatal in severe cases. This review summarizes the clinical manifestations and influencing factors of immunoglobulin A deficiency (IgAD), as well as the pathogenesis, laboratory test and prevention strategies of allergic transfusion reactions caused by IgA deficiency, so as to enhance prevention awareness of IgA deficiency allergic transfusion reaction in medical staff.

Abstract The effectiveness of national policies for air pollution control has been demonstrated, but the relative effectiveness of short-term emission reduction measures in comparison with national policies has not. Here we show that short-term abatement measures during important international events substantially reduced PM2.5 concentrations, but air quality rebounded to pre-event levels after the measures ceased. Long-term adherence to strict emission reduction policies led to successful decreases of 54% in PM2.5 concentrations in Beijing, and 23% in atmospheric nitrogen deposition in China from 2012 to 2020. Incentivized by “blue skies” type campaigns, economic development and reactive nitrogen pollution are quickly decoupled, showing that a combination of inspiring but aggressive short-term measures and effective but durable long-term policies delivers sustainable air quality improvement. However, increased ammonia concentrations, transboundary pollutant flows, and the complexity to achieving reduction targets under climate change scenarios, underscore the need for the synergistic control of multiple pollutants and inter-regional action.

IL-23 is a cytokine produced by myeloid cells that drives the T helper 17 pathway and plays an essential role in the pathophysiology of plaque psoriasis. IL-23 activation initiates a cascade of cytokines subsequently inducing the expression of many psoriasis-related proteins. This study aimed to better understand the underlying mechanisms driving the differences between IL-23 and IL-17A blockade in patients with psoriasis and their implications for durability of clinical responses. Serum and/or skin biopsies were isolated from patients treated with guselkumab or secukinumab for evaluation of potential biomarkers of pharmacodynamic response to treatment. Guselkumab treatment led to significantly greater reductions of IL-17F and IL-22 serum levels than treatment with secukinumab at weeks 24 and 48, demonstrating sustained regulation of the IL-23/T helper 17 pathway. Analyses of proteomic and transcriptomic profiles of patient sera and skin biopsies demonstrated differential regulation of proteins involved in chemokine, TNF, and relevant immune signaling pathways to a greater degree with guselkumab than with secukinumab treatment. These data provide insights into the differences between the mechanisms and impact of IL-23 and IL-17A blockade in psoriasis, with implications for efficacy observations and treatment paradigms. Background: Psoriasis is an immune-mediated inflammatory disease characterized by activation of IL-23–driven IL-17–producing T cell and other IL-23 receptor–positive IL-17–producing cell responses. Selective blockade of IL-23p19 with guselkumab was superior to blockade of TNF-α with adalimumab (ADA) in treating moderate-to-severe psoriasis. Objective: Pharmacodynamic responses of guselkumab versus ADA were compared in patients with psoriasis in VOYAGE 1. Design: Inflammatory cytokine serum levels were assessed (n = 118), and lesional and nonlesional skin biopsies were collected (n = 38) in patient subsets at baseline and 4, 24, and 48 weeks after treatment to evaluate pharmacodynamic responses of guselkumab versus those of ADA. Results: Guselkumab provided rapid reductions in serum IL-17A, IL-17F, and IL-22 levels by week 4 versus at baseline, which were maintained through weeks 24 and 48 (P < .001). The magnitude of reduction of IL-17A and IL-22 at week 48 and IL-17F at weeks 4, 24, and 48 were greater with guselkumab than with ADA (all P < .05). In the skin, guselkumab reduced the expression of IL-23/IL-17 pathway–associated and psoriasis-associated genes. Conclusion: These data provide extensive characterization of pharmacodynamic anti-inflammatory responses to IL-23p19 and TNF-α inhibition in human blood and tissue over time with FDA-approved doses of guselkumab and ADA. Rainfall data with high spatial and temporal resolutions are essential for urban hydrological modeling. Ubiquitous surveillance cameras can continuously record rainfall events through video and audio, so they have been recognized as potential rain gauges to supplement professional rainfall observation networks. Since video-based rainfall estimation methods can be affected by variable backgrounds and lighting conditions, audio-based approaches could be a supplement without suffering from these conditions. However, most audio-based approaches focus on rainfall-level classification rather than rainfall intensity estimation. Here, we introduce a dataset named Surveillance Audio Rainfall Intensity Dataset (SARID) and a deep learning model for estimating rainfall intensity. First, we created the dataset through audio of six real-world rainfall events. This dataset's audio recordings are segmented into 12,066 pieces and annotated with rainfall intensity and environmental information, such as underlying surfaces, temperature, humidity, and wind. Then, we developed a deep learning-based baseline using Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC) and Transformer architecture to estimate rainfall intensity from surveillance audio. Validated from ground truth data, our baseline achieves a root mean absolute error of 0.88 mm h-1 and a coefficient of correlation of 0.765. Our findings demonstrate the potential of surveillance audio-based models as practical and effective tools for rainfall observation systems, initiating a new chapter in rainfall intensity estimation. It offers a novel data source for high-resolution hydrological sensing and contributes to the broader landscape of urban sensing, emergency response, and resilience.

Abstract Introduction Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability worldwide. Antiplatelet therapies are recommended to reduce the risk of recurrent stroke in patients with ischemic stroke/transient ischemic attack (IS/TIA). This study evaluated outpatient antiplatelet treatment patterns and outcomes for secondary stroke prevention (SSP) among UK adults without atrial fibrillation who were hospitalized for IS/TIA. Methods This retrospective observational study utilized data from the UK Clinical Practice Research Datalink linked with Hospital Episode Statistics data (01/01/2011–30/06/2019). Treatment patterns included type and duration of treatments. Treatment outcomes included IS, myocardial infarction, major bleeding, and cardiovascular-related and all-cause mortality. Descriptive statistics were reported. Results Of 9270 patients, 13.9% (1292) might not receive antithrombotic therapy within 90 days of hospital discharge. Of 7978 patients who received antiplatelet therapies, most used clopidogrel (74.8%) or aspirin (16.7%) single antiplatelet therapy and clopidogrel + aspirin dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT, 5.9%). At 1-year post-hospitalization, 36.9, 43.3, and 35.1% of those receiving these treatments discontinued them, respectively, and of the patients initiating DAPT, 62.3% switched to single antiplatelet therapy. At 1-year post-discharge, the incidence rate (per 100 person-years) of IS, myocardial infarction, major bleeding, cardiovascular-related mortality, and all-cause mortality among the treated were 6.5, 0.7, 4.1, 5.0, and 7.3, respectively, and among the untreated were 14.9, 0.7, 8.6, 28.1, and 39.8, respectively. Conclusions In the United Kingdom, 13.9% of patients hospitalized for stroke might not have any antiplatelet treatment to prevent secondary stroke; among the treated, clopidogrel, aspirin, and DAPT were commonly used. These study findings suggest that improved anti-thrombotic therapies for long-term SSP treatment are needed, which may lead to higher treatment and persistence rates and, therefore, improved outcomes in this population.

Abstract Background Blonanserin (BNS) had been undergoing post-market surveillance (PMS) since September 2018. Using the surveillance data, we did this analysis to assess the safety and effectiveness of different doses of BNS to explore a sufficient dose range of BNS in Chinese patients with schizophrenia (SZ). Methods A 12-week, prospective, observational, single-arm, multicenter, open-label PMS was conducted. In this analysis, we divided the patients from PMS into low, medium to high, and high dose groups based on the dose of BNS they received, with medium to high dose group being the focus. The Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS) scores at week 2 or 4, 6 or 8, and 12 were calculated to evaluate the effectiveness of BNS in improving psychiatric symptoms. The safety of BNS was reported as the incidence of adverse drug reactions. Results 364 patients were included in the medium to high dose group, of which 321 completed the surveillance, with a dropout rate of 11.8%. The mean daily dose was 15.1 ± 1.92 mg. Air pollution threatens human health, necessitating effective and convenient air quality monitoring. Recently, there has been a growing interest in using camera images for air quality estimation. However, a major challenge has been nighttime detection due to the limited visibility of nighttime images. Here we present a hybrid deep learning model, capitalizing on the temporal continuity of air quality changes for estimating outdoor air quality from surveillance images. Our model, which integrates a convolutional neural network (CNN) and long short-term memory (LSTM), adeptly captures spatial-temporal image features, enabling air quality estimation at any time of day, including PM2.5 and PM10 concentrations, as well as the air quality index (AQI). Compared to independent CNN networks that solely extract spatial features, our model demonstrates superior accuracy on self-constructed datasets with R2 = 0.94 and RMSE = 5.11 μg m−3 for PM2.5, R2 = 0.92 and RMSE = 7.30 μg m−3 for PM10, and R2 = 0.94 and RMSE = 5.38 for AQI. Furthermore, our model excels in daytime air quality estimation and enhances nighttime predictions, elevating overall accuracy. Validation across diverse image datasets and comparative analyses underscore the applicability and superiority of our model, reaffirming its applicability and superiority for air quality monitoring.

Rural residents are exposed to both particulate and gaseous pesticides in the indoor-outdoor nexus in their daily routine. However, previous personal exposure assessment mostly focuses on single aspects of the exposure, such as indoor or gaseous exposure, leading to severe cognition bias to evaluate the exposure risks. In this study, residential dust and silicone wristbands (including stationary and personal wearing ones) were used to screen pesticides in different phases and unfold the hidden characteristics of personal exposure via indoor-outdoor nexus in intensive agricultural area. Mento-Carlo Simulation was performed to assess the probabilistic exposure risk by transforming adsorbed pesticides from wristbands into air concentration, which explores a new approach to integrate particulate (dust) and gaseous (silicone wristbands) pesticide exposures in indoor and outdoor environment. AbstractTerrain feature points, such as peaks, pits, and saddles, represent the macro-structure of the landform. Conventional techniques for extracting these points from digital elevation models (DEMs) often grapple with issues of inaccuracy, omission and redundancy, largely due to the problematic necessity of setting threshold values. This paper proposes an innovative approach for the automatic detection of terrain feature points based on the topological relationships of contours and the inherent constraints of terrain shape characteristics. The study provides a robust mathematical model of terrain feature points and an effective algorithm for their extraction. Comparing with manually reference data, the accuracy metrics including completeness, correctness, and quality of our extracted results demonstrate a high level, significantly surpassing those obtained through existing algorithms. This proposed approach not only avoids the spurious feature points produced by the local window method, but also prevents the omission of valid points and the creation of redundant ones. Moreover, by utilizing the contour interval as its only variable, our approach eliminates the need for various threshold settings, streamlining the extraction process.

A series of biaxial tests with different initial particle shapes, confining pressures, bond strengths and depositional angles were conducted on coral sand by using a 2D discrete element method simulation. The interactions between particle shape and particle breakage were investigated, and their combined effects on the mechanical behavior of coral sand were analyzed. The test results showed that particle breakage considerably weakens the effect of particle shape and inherent anisotropy on shear strength. The difference between the internal friction angles of unbreakable and breakable agglomerates Δφ decreases with increasing aspect ratio AR, sphericity S, and depositional angle θ. There exists a unique relationship between the relative breakage BrDe and the input energy E for the same agglomerates, which is independent of axial strain and confining pressure. However, this relationship is significantly influenced by the agglomerate shape and depositional angle, and irregular and low depositional angle specimens are more easily broken. In addition, the evolution of the aspect ratio AR and sphericity S of agglomerates was controlled by particle breakage, regardless of the axial strain, confining pressure, bond strength and depositional angle, and these trends were determined by the initial particle shape.

Abstract The dental operative microscope has been widely employed in the field of dentistry, particularly in endodontics and operative dentistry, resulting in significant advancements in the effectiveness of root canal therapy, endodontic surgery, and dental restoration. However, the improper use of this microscope continues to be common in clinical settings, primarily due to operators’ insufficient understanding and proficiency in both the features and established operating procedures of this equipment. In October 2019, Professor Jingping Liang, Vice Chairman of the Society of Cariology and Endodontology, Chinese Stomatological Association, organized a consensus meeting with Chinese experts in endodontics and operative dentistry. The objective of this meeting was to establish a standard operation procedure for the dental operative microscope. Subsequently, a consensus was reached and officially issued. Over the span of about four years, the content of this consensus has been further developed and improved through practical experience.

Abstract The long pipe shed advanced support has the characteristics of large construction difficulty, wide support range, and easy deviation. The difference in construction dip angle will produce a different plastic zone of surrounding rock and supporting effects, and the rationality of advanced support design plays an important role in the safety of tunnel opening excavation. Based on the Tianshan Tunnel project, this paper aims at the problems of the loose pebble layer structure, poor cohesion, strong permeability, shallow excavation is not easy to form a confined arch, and easy to causes surrounding rock deformation and failure. Combined with the new method theory, the finite difference software FLAC3D was used to simulate seven excavation schemes of the shallow tunnel entrances. The mechanism and effect of advance support and the influence of construction angle on support effect are analyzed, and the simulation values are compared with the measured data. The results show that using long pipe shed advanced support can effectively reduce the disturbance of excavation to lose pebble rock mass and reduce the convergence value of surrounding rock. The plastic zone of surrounding rock produced by different angles can be divided into three parts. The structural stability difference of the C1 zone is small, and that of the C3 zone is large. The bending moment, shear force, and shape variables of the pipe shed decrease with the increase of the dip angle, while the axial force increases with the increase of the dip angle. According to the similarity between the simulated curve and the measured curve, the best supporting effect can be achieved when the dip angle of the pre-supporting pipe shed is set in the range of 0° ~ 3°.

The construction of new towns is one of the main measures to evacuate urban populations and promote regional coordination and urban–rural integration in China. Mining the spatio-temporal pattern of new town hot spots based on multivariate data and analyzing the influencing factors of new town construction hot spots can provide a strategic basis for new town construction, but few researchers have extracted and analyzed the influencing factors of new town internal hot spots and their classification. In order to define the key points of Wuhan’s new town construction and promote the construction of new cities in an orderly and efficient manner, this paper first constructs a space-time cube based on the luminous remote sensing data from 2010 to 2019, extracts hot spots and emerging hot spots in Wuhan New City, selects 14 influencing factor indicators such as population density, and uses bivariate Moran’s index to analyze the influencing factors of hot spots, indicating that the number of bus stops and vegetation coverage rate are the most significant. Secondly, the disorderly multivariate logistic regression model is used to analyze the influencing factors of emerging hot spots. The results show that population density, vegetation coverage, road density, distance to water bodies, and distance to train stations are the most significant factors. Finally, based on the analysis results, some relevant suggestions for the construction of Wuhan New City are proposed, providing theoretical support for the planning and policy guidance of new cities, and offering reference for the construction of new towns in other cities, promoting the construction of high-quality cities.

Elevated atmospheric reactive nitrogen (Nr) emissions and the subsequent nitrogen (N) deposition have negatively impacted the global environment, particularly in China. In order to assess the long-term trends in atmospheric N deposition in the south of China, Taojiang County in Hunan Province was selected as a representative rural area for study. We analyzed interannual variation in atmospheric Nr, including gaseous ammonia (NH3), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), nitrate acid (HNO3) vapor, particulate ammonium (NH4+), and nitrate (NO3−) in air and NH4+-N and NO3−-N in precipitation from 2011 to 2020. The 10-year average atmospheric wet-plus-dry N deposition was 41.9 kg N ha−1 yr−1, which decreased by approximately 24% after 2012, indicating that NH3 and NOx emissions were effectively reduced by emission controls introduced in 2013. Wet deposition accounted for approximately 74% of the total N deposition and was significantly influenced by annual precipitation amount. Reduced N (NH3, pNH4+, and NH4+ in rainwater) was the dominant form, comprising approximately 58% of the total N deposition, while oxidized N (pNO3−, NO2, HNO3, and NO3− in rainwater) accounted for 42% of the total N deposition. Atmospheric HNO3, NO2, and NH3 concentrations and deposition declined by 30–80% over the decade, while particulate NH4+ and NO3− concentrations and deposition remained at relatively stable levels, which suggests that ongoing research and policy should focus on rural particulate pollution. Future strategies must concentrate on the integrated control of NH3 and NOx emissions to mitigate air pollution and protect human health, particularly in rural areas because current abatement efforts are primarily directed toward urban areas and the industrial sector, whereas non-point source NH3 pollution, influenced mainly by agricultural activities, dominates in rural regions.

A modified parallel model for estimating the thermal conductivity of unsaturated sand was proposed in this study. The heat conduction in the solid phase of sand depends mainly on the form of contacts between solid particles, while water bridges at the particle contacts increase the contact areas and remarkably enlarge the transfer paths of heat conduction in sandy soils. However, the thermal conductivity of the solid particle itself (λs) cannot describe the influence of the form of contacts and water bridges on heat conduction through the solid phase. In this study, the equivalent thermal conductivity of the solid particle (λes) was presented which reflected the influence of the form of contacts and water bridges between particles under dry conditions or a low degree of saturation, respectively. The relationship between λes and degree of saturation was described by hyperbolic expression. The modified model was calibrated using measured values of the thermal conductivity from published datasets, including those for 41 types of sand from 15 studies. Numerical analyses of the temperature field of the energy pile were performed and validated against laboratory measurements. The results illustrated that the modified model was more applicable than the original model for predictions of sand thermal conductivity.

Abstract By researching the distance between blasthole and interface of soft-hard rock strata, as well as the time of delay detonation, blasting effect of the rock mass will be more controllable. Firstly, validity of numerical method was authenticated from three angles: blasting coupled stress field, ratio of crushing zone radius to blasthole radius, and crack network state. Under the condition of soft-hard rock strata, numerical model of double-hole blasting was established by using PFC2D. Then delay blasting experiments were carried out under different relative positions of blasthole and interface. Ultimately, results were analyzed from three perspectives: crack network, crack quantity and rock fragment. Results show that: (1) When detonated in hard rock, if between interface and blasthole distance is greater than twice crushing zone radius, the closer blasthole is to the interface, the more obvious the “hook” phenomenon between the two blastholes is. With increasing delayed initiation time, “hook” phenomenon will weaken or even disappear. (2) Based on the crack information initiated in hard rock, the law of crack number varying with thickness of hard rock and delay time is obtained. (3) For initiation in hard rock, crack extension range is large, but less fragments are formed. The law is opposite to that initiation in structural plane and soft rock. Fragmentation area increases exponentially with increasing soft rock thickness, and exponential function is obtained.

The intensive use of pesticides in the North China Plain (NCP) has resulted in widespread contamination of pesticides in the local atmosphere, posing risks to air quality and human health. However, the occurrence and distribution of atmospheric pesticides in the NCP as well as their risk assessment have not been well investigated. In this study, 300 monthly samples were collected using passive air samplers with polyurethane foam at ten rural sites with different crop systems in Quzhou county, the NCP, from June 2021 to May 2022. The pesticides were quantified using mass-spectrometric techniques. Our results revealed that chlorpyrifos, carbendazim, and atrazine were the most frequently found pesticides in the air samples, with detection frequencies of ≥ 87 % across the samples. The average concentrations of atmospheric pesticides during spring (7.47 pg m−3) and summer (16.05 pg m−3) were significantly higher than those during autumn (2.04 pg m−3) and winter (1.71 pg m−3), attributable to the intensified application of pesticides during the warmer seasons. Additionally, cash crop sites exhibited higher concentrations (10.26 pg m−3) of atmospheric pesticides compared to grain crop (5.59 pg m−3) and greenhouse sites (3.81 pg m−3), primarily due to more frequent pesticides spraying events in cash crop fields. These findings indicate a distinct spatial–temporal distribution pattern of atmospheric pesticides influenced by both seasons and crop systems. Furthermore, the model-based inhalation risk assessment indicates that inhalation exposure to atmospheric pesticides is unlikely to pose a significant public concern.

Abstract Background A post-marketing surveillance of blonanserin has been ongoing since September 2018. The aim of this study was to assess the effectiveness and safety of oral blonanserin in Chinese young and middle-aged female patients with schizophrenia in real clinical settings, using the data from the post-marketing surveillance. Methods A 12-week, prospective, multi-center, open-label, post-marketing surveillance was conducted. Female patients aged 18–40 years were included in this analysis. The Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS) was used to evaluate the effectiveness of blonanserin in improving psychiatric symptoms. The incidence of adverse drug reactions (ADRs) such as of extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS), prolactin elevation and the weight gain were used to evaluate the safety profile of blonanserin. Results A total of 392 patients were included both in the safety and full analysis sets, 311 patients completed the surveillance protocol. Abstract Based on the digital elevation data, snow depth and snow cover remote sensing data, this paper divides six snow evolution areas and geographical partitions, extracts the geographical partitions of each evolution area and obtains the geographical characteristics of the evolution area for analysis. The results show that: (1) From 2003 to 2017, the average snow area decreased at a rate of − 0.004, and the average snow depth increased at a rate of 0.03. (2) The snow in the middle altitude hill with shady gentle slope area is the most obvious in the seasonal evolution, and the percentage of this region in the seasonal snow evolution area is 5.46%, the snow depth in the middle altitude hill with sunny and gentle slopes area increased and decreased significantly in the past 15 years, and the percentage of this region in the SD significant changes evolution area was 6.32%. The snow in the low relief middle altitude mountain with shady and moderate slope area not only shows obvious seasonal evolution, but also increases and decreases significantly in snow depth. And the percentage of this region in the seasonal snow significant evolution area is 5.82%. (3) The geographical partitions with the largest area in all evolution areas is the middle altitude hill with sunny and gentle slopes area (4.75%). (4) The geographical partition with the largest variation of snow depth in Tianshan region is the low relief middle altitude mountain with shady and moderate slope area (12.02 cm). (5) The snow accumulation and melting are obvious in the range of 1000–3500 m above altitude, different geomorphology types lead to obvious differences in snow characteristics. The snow melting is most obvious in the gentle slope area of the low topographic relief geomorphology types, and the snow accumulation is most obvious in the steep slope area of the middle relief geomorphology types.

Abstract The existence of various types of damage, small cracks, some large voids and the size of the sample in the rock will make the experimental results show great discreteness. In this paper, based on the results of laboratory experiments, a numerical model of large flawed rock samples is established by using particle flow software PFC2D, and the mechanical response of rocks with different length-diameter ratios and different flaw positions in uniaxial compression experiments is discussed. The results show that the specimen size has a significant effect on the crack characteristics, mechanical characteristics and energy characteristics of rock mass. From the perspective of energy and crack characteristics, the total number of cracks after the failure of the defective rock sample is slightly lower than that of the intact rock sample, resulting in a slightly lower peak strain energy during the rock failure process. From the mechanical properties of rock samples, the Poisson’s ratio of intact rock samples is slightly smaller than that of defective rock samples. The strength of the defective sample is weakened relative to the complete rock sample, and the relationship formula between the weakening range and the aspect ratio is obtained through analysis. Moreover, different defect locations lead to different crack processes and crack modes, resulting in different uniaxial compressive strength.

● Progress on nitrogen management in agriculture is overviewed in China. ● 4R principles are key to high N use efficiency and low N losses in soil-crop systems. ● A new framework of food-chain-N-management is proposed. ● China’s success in N management provides models for other countries. Since the 1980s, the widespread use of N fertilizer has not only resulted in a strong increase in agricultural productivity but also caused a number of environmental problems, induced by excess reactive N emissions. A range of approaches to improve N management for increased agricultural production together with reduced environmental impacts has been proposed. The 4R principles (right product, right amount, right time and right place) for N fertilizer application have been essential for improving crop productivity and N use efficiency while reducing N losses. For example, site-specific N management (as part of 4R practice) reduced N fertilizer use by 32% and increased yield by 5% in China. However, it has not been enough to overcome the challenge of producing more food with reduced impact on the environment and health. This paper proposes a new framework of food-chain-nitrogen-management (FCNM). This involves good N management including the recycling of organic manures, optimized crop and animal production and improved human diets, with the aim of maximizing resource use efficiency and minimizing environmental emissions. FCNM could meet future challenges for food demand, resource sustainability and environmental safety, key issues for green agricultural transformation in China and other countries.

Background Claudin18.2 (CLDN18.2) is a tight junction protein that has been identified as a clinically proven target in gastric cancer. Stimulation of 4-1BB with agonistic antibodies is also a promising strategy for immunotherapy and 4-1BB+ T cells were reported to be present within the tumor microenvironment of patients with gastric cancer. However, hepatotoxicity-mediated by 4-1BB activation was observed in clinical trials of agonistic anti-4-1BB monoclonal antibodies.Methods To specifically activate the 4-1BB+ T cells in tumor and avoid the on-target liver toxicity, we developed a novel CLDN18.2×4-1BB bispecific antibody (termed ‘givastomig’ or ‘ABL111’; also known as TJ-CD4B or TJ033721) that was designed to activate 4-1BB signaling in a CLDN18.2 engagement-dependent manner.Results 4-1BB+ T cells were observed to be coexisted with CLDN18.2+ tumor cells in proximity by multiplex immunohistochemical staining of tumor tissues from patients with gastric cancer (n=60). Givastomig/ABL111 could bind to cell lines expressing various levels of CLDN18.2 with a high affinity and induce 4-1BB activation in vitro only in the context of CLDN18.2 binding. The magnitude of T-cell activation by givastomig/ABL111 treatment was closely correlated with the CLDN18.2 expression level of tumor cells from gastric cancer patient-derived xenograft model. Mechanistically, givastomig/ABL111 treatment could upregulate the expression of a panel of pro-inflammatory and interferon-γ-responsive genes in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells when co-cultured with CLDN18.2+ tumor cells. Furthermore, in humanized 4-1BB transgenic mice inoculated with human CLDN18.2-expressing tumor cells, givastomig/ABL111 induced a localized immune activation in tumor as evident by the increased ratio of CD8+/regulatory T cell, leading to the superior antitumor activity and long-lasting memory response against tumor rechallenge. Givastomig/ABL111 was well tolerated, with no systemic immune response and hepatotoxicity in monkeys.Conclusions Givastomig/ABL111 is a novel CLDN18.2×4-1BB bispecific antibody which has the potential to treat patients with gastric cancer with a wide range of CLDN18.2 expression level through the restricted activation of 4-1BB+ T cells in tumor microenvironment to avoid the risk of liver toxicity and systemic immune response.

Machine learning (ML) is an advanced computer algorithm that simulates the human learning process to solve problems. With an explosion of monitoring data and the increasing demand for fast and accurate prediction, ML models have been rapidly developed and applied in air pollution research. In order to explore the status of ML applications in air pollution research, a bibliometric analysis was made based on 2962 articles published from 1990 to 2021. The number of publications increased sharply after 2017, comprising approximately 75% of the total. Institutions in China and United States contributed half of all publications with most research being conducted by individual groups rather than global collaborations. Cluster analysis revealed four main research topics for the application of ML: chemical characterization of pollutants, short-term forecasting, detection improvement and optimizing emission control. The rapid development of ML algorithms has increased the capability to explore the chemical characteristics of multiple pollutants, analyze chemical reactions and their driving factors, and simulate scenarios. Combined with multi-field data, ML models are a powerful tool for analyzing atmospheric chemical processes and evaluating the management of air quality and deserve greater attention in future.

The urban fringe is the transitional area from rural form to urban form, and it is also the urban space reserve land in the Territorial Spatial Plan. However, few researchers predict its overall evolution and guide the implementation of the Territorial Spatial Plan. This study attempts to explore the dynamic evolution law of urban fringe, analyze its driving factors, predict its future development, and put forward management suggestions for the implementation of the Territorial Spatial Plan. In this paper, the land use data of Wuhan in 2000, 2010 and 2020 are applied to delimit the urban fringe area of Wuhan by means of a sliding t-test. Fifteen driving factors are selected from three dimensions, natural factors, socio-economic factors and traffic accessibility, and brought into the Logistic model to explore the driving factors of its spatial evolution. The CA–Markov model is used to predict the fringe area of Wuhan in 2035. The results show that the transformation of rural hinterland into urban fringe is obviously affected by the distance from railway stations, highways, commercial centers and urban main roads. It is predicted that the outer boundary of Wuhan’s fringe area in 2035 will be basically the same as the planned urban development boundary. In order to realize the intention of land space planning, the development and construction of the northwest of the Huangpi District, the East Lake Scenic Area, and the west side of the Jiangxia District should be restricted. From the perspective of the evolution of the fringe area, this paper puts forward some management suggestions for the implementation of the Territorial Spatial Plan and makes a beneficial attempt in theory and method to understand the development characteristics of the fringe area and promote the implementation of the Territorial Spatial Plan.

Recent vigorous controls in anthropogenic nitrogen oxide emissions in China cannot result in proportionate decreases in regional atmospheric nitrogen deposition. Enhanced atmospheric oxidizing capacity offsets those reductions of precursor emissions.

Drug-target interactions provide insight into the drug-side effects and drug repositioning. However, wet-lab biochemical experiments are time-consuming and labor-intensive, and are insufficient to meet the pressing demand for drug research and development. With the rapid advancement of deep learning, computational methods are increasingly applied to screen drug-target interactions. Many methods consider this problem as a binary classification task (binding or not), but ignore the quantitative binding affinity. In this paper, we propose a new end-to-end deep learning method called DeepMHADTA, which uses the multi-head self-attention mechanism in a deep residual network to predict drug-target binding affinity. On two benchmark datasets, our method outperformed several current state-of-the-art methods in terms of multiple performance measures, including mean square error (MSE), consistency index (CI), rm2, and PR curve area (AUPR). The results demonstrated that our method achieved better performance in predicting the drug–target binding affinity.

Abstract Schizophrenia (SCZ) and bipolar disorder (BPD) are associated with abnormal expression of immune-related factors (IRFs), which have been proposed as biomarkers of either disease diagnosis (trait markers) or treatment (state markers). However, the state markers have been found to be less reproducible than the trait markers in previous studies. In the current study, we focused on the changes of IRFs in blood of SCZ and BPD patients receiving monotherapy. SCZ (N = 49) and BPD (N = 49) Chinese patients were recruited at acute episode and followed for 9 to 51 days until remission. Blood samples were collected at two state-points, acute state before treatment and remission state after treatment. A total of 41 IRFs in plasma were quantified by the Luminex assay. After adjusting covariates, we found four cytokines or cytokine receptors were significantly increased at remission when compared to acute episode in all the patients, including CD30, BAFF, CCL20, and CXCL10 (Bonferroni corrected p

ObjectivesThe objective of this study was to compare the predictive performance of 2D and 3D radiomics features in meningioma grade based on enhanced T1 WI images.MethodsThere were 170 high grade meningioma and 170 low grade meningioma were selected randomly. The 2D and 3D features were extracted from 2D and 3D ROI of each meningioma. The Spearman correlation analysis and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression were used to select the valuable features. The 2D and 3D predictive models were constructed by naive Bayes (NB), gradient boosting decision tree (GBDT), and support vector machine (SVM). The ROC curve was drawn and AUC was calculated. The 2D and 3D models were compared by Delong test of AUCs and decision curve analysis (DCA) curve.ResultsThere were 1143 features extracted from each ROI. Six and seven features were selected. The AUC of 2D and 3D model in NB, GBDT, and SVM was 0.773 and 0.771, 0.722 and 0.717, 0.733 and 0.743. There was no significant difference in two AUCs (p=0.960, 0.913, 0.830) between 2D and 3D model. The 2D features had a better performance than 3D features in NB models and the 3D features had a better performance than 2D features in GBDT models. The 2D features and 3D features had an equal performance in SVM models.ConclusionsThe 2D and 3D features had a comparable performance in predicting meningioma grade. Considering the issue of time and labor, 2D features could be selected for radiomics study in meningioma.Key pointsThere was a comparable performance between 2D and 3D features in meningioma grade prediction. The 2D features was a proper selection in meningioma radiomics study because of its time and labor saving.

Ammonia (NH3) emissions from intensive anthropogenic activities is an important component in the global nitrogen cycle that has triggered large negative impacts on air quality and ecosystems worldwide. An accurate spatially explicit high resolution NH3 emission inventory is essential for modeling atmospheric aerosol pollution and nitrogen deposition. However, existing NH3 emission inventories in China are still subject to several uncertainties. In this review we firstly summarize the widely used methods for the estimate of NH3 emissions and discuss their advantages and major limitations. Secondly, we present aggregated data from ten NH3 emission inventories to assess the trends in total anthropogenic NH3 emissions in China over the period 1980–2019. Almost emission estimates reported that NH3 emissions in China have doubled in the last four decades. We find a substantial differences in annual total NH3 emissions, spatial distributions and seasonal variations among selected datasets. In 2012, the median emission (Tg yr−1) and associated minimum-maximum ranges are 12.4 (8.5_17.2) for total emission, 9.9 (8.1_13.8) for agriculture, 0.3 (0.2_1.0) for industry, 0.4 (0.2_1.1) for residential and 0.1 (0.1_0.3) for transport and other emission of 1.5 (0.3_2.6). In general, peak emissions occur in summer but in different months, the higher NH3 emission intensities are concentrated in the NCP area, and in eastern and south-central China but distinct regional discrepancy among selected datasets. Finally, we made an analysis of the reasons and levels of difference in NH3 emission estimates with recommendations for improvement of China’s NH3 emission inventory.

The existence of the interface between soft and hard rock often makes it difficult to control the blasting effect. Studying the influence of structural plane and delayed initiation time on rock blasting characteristics can make the blasting effect more controllable. In this paper, by using the Particle Flow Code (PFC2D) and particle expansion algorithm, the double-hole delayed blasting experiments of soft-hard rock are carried out, and the results are analyzed from the perspectives of fragment gradation, micro contact force and energy field. Results show that: 1) When blasting in hard rock, if the distance between structural plane and blasthole is about two times the radius of crushing area, it will easier to form large area fragments, and the fragments tend to be crushed with the increase of the distance. When the distance is 2–4 times the radius of crushing area, with the increase of delay time, the overall fragment area value increases first and then decreases, and reaches the maximum when the delay time is 4 ms. 2) When the structural plane existing in the rock mass, the delayed initiation will make the contact force become relatively uniform within a certain range. The main direction of contact force will appear in the uneven state of contact force generated by simultaneous or delayed initiation, which is close to the parallel or vertical direction of blasthole connection. 3) When blasting in hard rock, if the distance between the structural plane and the blasthole is greater than about two times the radius of the crushing area, compared with simultaneous blasting, the peak kinetic energy and peak strain energy of delayed blasting will be reduced by about 33% and 46% respectively.

ObjectivesTo non-invasively predict the coexistence of isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) mutation and O6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) promoter methylation in adult-type diffuse gliomas using apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) histogram and direct ADC measurements and compare the diagnostic performances of the two methods.Materials and methodsA total of 118 patients with adult-type diffuse glioma who underwent preoperative brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) were included in this retrospective study. The patient group included 40 patients with coexisting IDH mutation and MGMT promoter methylation (IDHmut/MGMTmet) and 78 patients with other molecular status, including 32 patients with IDH wildtype and MGMT promoter methylation (IDHwt/MGMTmet), one patient with IDH mutation and unmethylated MGMT promoter (IDHmut/MGMTunmet), and 45 patients with IDH wildtype and unmethylated MGMT promoter (IDHwt/MGMTunmet). ADC histogram parameters of gliomas were extracted by delineating the region of interest (ROI) in solid components of tumors. The minimum and mean ADC of direct ADC measurements were calculated by placing three rounded or elliptic ROIs in solid components of gliomas. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis and the area under the curve (AUC) were used to evaluate the diagnostic performances of the two methods.ResultsThe 10th percentile, median, mean, root mean squared, 90th percentile, skewness, kurtosis, and minimum of ADC histogram analysis and minimum and mean ADC of direct measurements were significantly different between IDHmut/MGMTmet and the other glioma group (P < 0.001 to P = 0.003). In terms of single factors, 10th percentile of ADC histogram analysis had the best diagnostic efficiency (AUC = 0.860), followed by mean ADC obtained by direct measurements (AUC = 0.844). The logistic regression model combining ADC histogram parameters and direct measurements had the best diagnostic efficiency (AUC = 0.938), followed by the logistic regression model combining the ADC histogram parameters with statistically significant difference (AUC = 0.916) and the logistic regression model combining minimum ADC and mean ADC (AUC = 0.851).ConclusionBoth ADC histogram analysis and direct measurements have potential value in predicting the coexistence of IDHmut and MGMTmet in adult-type diffuse glioma. The diagnostic performance of ADC histogram analysis was better than that of direct ADC measurements. The combination of the two methods showed the best diagnostic performance.

Abstract Background Mild encephalitis/encephalopathy with a reversible splenial lesion (MERS) has been reported worldwidely. However, the data about recurrent cases is limited. We aimed to analyze the clinical and radiographic features of recurrent MERS, and its possible mechanisms. Case presentation Two patients with clinically recurrent MERS were reported here, exhibiting neurological symptoms such as limbs weakness and numbness, stand/walk unsteadily, slurred speech and irritability, and typical lesions in the corpus callosum and white matter. One of them experienced another four episodes with a similar clinical course and magnetic resonance imaging findings over a period of 10 years. The Na levels in the present two patients were normal. Discussion and conclusion Combined with the patients reported previously, recurrence could be seen in both MERS type 1 and type 2 patients, from two to multiple times, with the latter possibly more common. It suggested that some genetic factors might be involved in MERS, especially for MERS type 2 or familial MERS.

Rationally relieving the population of urban centers in large cities, such as megacities and supercities, is one of the current goals of population development in China. The fringe area of a large city is a potential area to undertake the population of the central area. Studying the relationship between the population and the built environment in this area can help urban planners formulate targeted construction strategies to attract the population of the city center to move to the fringe areas. This paper takes the fringe areas of Wuhan in 2010 and 2020 as its specific research object and puts forward the “5D” index system of built environments that affects the spatial distribution of population based on population data and built environment data. The OLS model is used to screen the influencing factors. This paper analyzes the correlation between population and built environment using a multi-scale geographic weighted regression model as well. According to the results of the regression analysis combined with the development and construction of the fringe areas of remote urban areas in Wuhan over the past 20 years, some suggestions are put forward for the planning and construction of remote urban areas. The results show that the “5D” index system of the built environment covers the influencing factors of the spatial distribution of the population. MGWR reveals the correlation between the influencing factors and the spatial distribution of population in the marginal areas on the global scale and the local scale, respectively, which provides a clear direction for the development of planning and construction to improve the attractiveness of the non-central areas to the population.

The hydroisomerization of n-alkanes is an important step in the production of high-quality bio-aviation kerosene. A SAPO-11 molecular sieve was synthesized using the hydrothermal synthesis method, and a 0.5 wt% Pt/SAPO-11 catalyst was prepared using the impregnation method. The crystal phase, pore structure, acidity, and morphology of Pt/SAPO-11 were characterized via X-ray diffraction, N2 adsorption-desorption, NH3 temperature-programmed desorption, scanning electron microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy, respectively. The hydroisomerization performance of the catalyst was evaluated with bio-n-hexadecane as the model compound. The results showed that temperature and space velocity had significant effects. Under the conditions of 340 °C, 1.5 MPa, WHSV = 1.0 h−1, V(H2): V(n-hexadecane) = 1000:1, the conversion of n-hexadecane and the selectivity of i-hexadecane were 81.8% and 86.5%, respectively.

Abstract This study aims to know the seeking help behavior of individuals with SZ (Schizophrenia) in Hunan province of China. Individuals (age > 15) with schizophrenia were recruited in the study after a two-stage diagnosis procedure (including questionnaire screening and face-to-face SCID interview by psychiatrists) in Hunan province. A self-designed questionnaire was used to investigate their help-seeking behavior. (1) Of the 367 participants, 68.9% (253/367) sought help; of those, 64.6% (n = 163) pursued professional psychiatric services and 30.8% (n = 78) pursued non-medical options (i.e., relatives, praying to Buddha) as the most common first choices. Abstract Background Time-restricted feeding is an emerging dietary intervention that is becoming increasingly popular. There are, however, no randomised clinical trials of time-restricted feeding in overweight patients with type 2 diabetes. Here, we explored the effects of time-restricted feeding on glycaemic regulation and weight changes in overweight patients with type 2 diabetes over 12 weeks. Methods Overweight adults with type 2 diabetes (n = 120) were randomised 1:1 to two diet groups: time-restricted feeding (n = 60) or control (n = 60). Sixty patients participated in a 10-h restricted feeding treatment program (ad libitum feeding from 8:00 to 18:00 h; fasting between 18:00 and 8:00 h) for 12 weeks. ObjectiveIn this study, we aimed to characterize the plasma metabolic profiles of brain atrophy and alcohol dependence (s) and to identify the underlying pathogenesis of brain atrophy related to alcohol dependence.MethodsWe acquired the plasma samples of alcohol-dependent patients and performed non-targeted metabolomic profiling analysis to identify alterations of key metabolites in the plasma of BA-ADPs. Machine learning algorithms and bioinformatic analysis were also used to identify predictive biomarkers and investigate their possible roles in brain atrophy related to alcohol dependence.ResultsA total of 26 plasma metabolites were significantly altered in the BA-ADPs group when compared with a group featuring alcohol-dependent patients without brain atrophy (NBA-ADPs). Nine of these differential metabolites were further identified as potential biomarkers for BA-ADPs. Receiver operating characteristic curves demonstrated that these potential biomarkers exhibited good sensitivity and specificity for distinguishing BA-ADPs from NBA-ADPs. Moreover, metabolic pathway analysis suggested that glycerophospholipid metabolism may be highly involved in the pathogenesis of alcohol-induced brain atrophy.ConclusionThis plasma metabolomic study provides a valuable resource for enhancing our understanding of alcohol-induced brain atrophy and offers potential targets for therapeutic intervention.

The physicochemical and functional properties of myofibrillar protein (MP), sarcoplasmic protein (SP), and myostromin (MY) in Hypomesus olidus muscle were evaluated and reported in this study. These fractions are rich in Glu. Three proteins exhibited significantly different morphologies, colors, and particle sizes. The main protein bands of MP, SP, and MY are 15–220 kDa, 26–60 kDa, and 15–245 kDa, respectively. In particular, MP is more hydrophobic. Three proteins exhibited a maximum UV absorption peak at 270 nm, and all amide I secondary structures were shown to be composed of repetitive units (e.g., α-helices and β-sheets). The three proteins demonstrated a predominantly amorphous halo, with Td values of 52.22 °C, 59.16 °C, and 58.09 °C. Regarding their properties in water/oil absorption, emulsification, and foaming, MP is the most preferred, followed by SP and MY. In conclusion, Hypomesus olidus muscle proteins are novel and potential functional nutrition ingredients for the food industry.

The security of industrial control systems is increasingly prominent, and the performance of intrusion detection classifiers depends more on hyper-parameters. This paper proposes an improved multiple population genetic algorithm (IMPGA) used to intelligently search hyper-parameters of classifiers, and the simulated annealing algorithm (SAA) is used to control the evolution rate among various populations. In addition, the hash fitness value is used to reduce resource consumption and the directional evolution operator is introduced to optimize the population. This method can effectively avoid the algorithm falling into local optimal solution and save the optimal solution in the process of evolution. Thus, the optimal or approximate optimal combinations of hyper-parameters of classifiers are obtained and the accuracy of the classifiers is finally improved. In this paper, experiments are conducted on the following datasets: the natural gas pipeline experimental dataset of Mississippi State University from 2014 (a gas dataset), the intrusion detection systems dataset of Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity from 2017 (CICIDS2017 dataset) and an oil depot dataset. The experimental results of those three datasets show that the area under curve (AUC) of the back propagation neural network (BPNN) is more than 98%, of the extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost) is more than 99%, and of the support vector machines (SVM) is more than 98%. This selection method can effectively detect the intrusion attacks.

Abstract Background The outbreak of Coronavirus Disease 2019(COVID-19) caused psychological stress in Chinese adults population. But we are unaware of whether the pandemic causes psychological stress on children. Methods We used the Children’s Impact of Event Scale questionnaire (CRIES-13) to investigate the degree of Post-traumatic Stress (PTSD) symptoms caused by the pandemic in students selected from schools in Sichuan, Jiangsu, Henan, Yunnan, and Chongqing provinces of China. Results A total of 7769 students(3692 male and 4077 female), aged 8–18 years, were enrolled in the study, comprising 1214 in primary schools, 2799 in junior high schools and 3756 in senior high schools. A total of 1639 students (21.1%) had severe psychological stress reactions. A large proportion of senior high school students (23.3%) experienced severe psychological stress, and they had the highest median total CRIES-13 score. Female students were more likely to experience severe psychological stress and had higher median CRIES-13 total scores than males. Conclusion COVID-19 has placed psychological stresses on primary and secondary school students in China. These stresses are more likely to reach severe levels among female students and senior high school students.

Abstract Room temperature sodium‐sulfur (RT Na‐S) batteries are gaining extensive attention as attractive alternatives for large‐scale energy storage, due to low cost and high abundancy of sodium and sulfur in nature. However, the dilemmas regarding soluble polysulfides (Na2S n , 4 ≤ n ≤ 8) and the inferior reaction kinetics limit their practical application. To address these issues, we report the activated porous carbon fibers (APCF) with small sulfur molecules (S2 – 4) confined in ultramicropores, to achieve a reversible single‐step reaction in RT Na‐S batteries. The mechanism is investigated by the in situ UV/vis spectroscopy, which demonstrates Na2S is the only product during the whole discharge process. Moreover, the hierarchical carbon structure can enhance areal sulfur loading without sacrificing the capacity due to thorough contact between electrolyte and sulfur electrode. As a consequence, the APCF electrode with 38 wt% sulfur (APCF‐38S) delivers a high initial reversible specific capacity of 1412 mAh g−1 and 10.6 mAh cm−2 (avg. areal sulfur loading: 7.5 mg cm−2) at 0.1 C (1 C = 1675 mA g−1), revealing high degree of sulfur utilization. This study provides a new strategy for the development of high areal capacity RT Na‐S batteries.

For deep resource exploitation and engineering construction, the mechanical properties of soft and hard interbedded rock masses are important factors impacting engineering stability. Simultaneously, the influence of temperature on the strength of deep rock masses poses a significant obstacle to the exploitation of deep resources and the utilization of underground space. In this paper, the particle flow code (PFC2D) is utilized to establish the thermal-mechanical coupling numerical model of soft and hard interbedded rock masses, and then the uniaxial compression response of soft and hard interbedded rock masses following thermal damage is studied. The displacement and contact force produced by applying temperature, as well as the failure strength, strain, and crack development of the specimen after uniaxial compression is analyzed. The findings reveal that: 1) The peak displacement caused by applied temperature increases first and subsequently decreases with the increase of soft rock thickness ratio (Hs/H), whereas the peak displacement increases linearly with increasing temperature. The peak contact force varies in two stages with the increase of the soft rock thickness ratio (Hs/H), and with the same trends. 2) As the soft rock thickness ratio increases (Hs/H), the number of cracks decreases steadily. When the soft rock thickness ratio Hs/H < 0.5, the relationship curve between vertical strain and crack changes in two stages: the stage of crack development along with the stage of vertical strain gradually increases with crack development. When the thickness ratio of soft rock Hs/H > 0.5, the relationship curve changes in three stages: crack development stage, vertical strain increase stage, and vertical strain increase stage with crack development. 3) When the soft rock thickness ratio Hs/H < 0.5, the failure strength gradually decreases as soft rock thickness increases at T = 100°C, 200°C. The failure strength gradually increases as the soft rock thickness increases in general at T = 400°C. Soft rock thickness ratio Hs/H > 0.5, the failure strength increases with the increase of soft rock thickness at T = 300°C, 400°C. At T = 100°C, 200°C, the tendency of the failure strength changes less.

Schizophrenia is an unexplained, complex and serious mental illness. Blonanserin (BNS) is a new antipsychotic drug widely used in the treatment of schizophrenia. However, large-scale clinical studies have not been conducted in China. A multi-center, prospective, open-label, 12-week surveillance was carried out to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of BNS in patients with schizophrenia in China. Safety assessments included adverse drug reactions (ADRs), extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS), akathisia, concomitant medications for EPS by the end of treatment, and the changes in body weight from baseline by the end of treatment. The effectiveness was evaluated by the Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS). From September 2018 to May 2020, of the 1,060 patients enrolled, 1,018 were included in the full analysis set (FAS) and safety set (SS), respectively. ADRs were developed in 205 patients among the included, the incidence being 20.1%. ADRs of EPS occurred in 169 patients, the incidence being 16.6%, ADRs of akathisia occurred in 90 patients, the incidence being 8.8%; concomitant therapeutic and prophylactic agents for EPS accounts for 19.2%; 4.0% of patients had a ≥7% increase in body weight from baseline at 12 weeks after initiating treatment. Using the last-observation-carried-forward (LOCF) method, the changes in total BPRS scores were −11.2 ± 10.17 (N = 1,018), −16.8 ± 12.69 (N = 1,018) and −20.6 ± 13.99 (N = 1,018) after 2/4, 6/8, or 12 weeks, respectively. 53.5% (545/1,018) patients showed response to blonanserin treatment in week 12. The post-marketing surveillance results of BNS demonstrates safety profile and effectiveness of the drug.
