1. Algebraic law of local correlation in the dynamically tuned Ising model

Abstract: We investigate both analytically and numerically the buildup of antiferromagnetic (AF) correlation in the dynamically tuned Ising model with various geometries by using the Rydberg atomic system. It is shown that Magnus expansion up to second order for the local lattice geometries can describe quantitatively the creation of the AF correlation for different lattice arrays, e.g., $2 \times n$ lattice, cyclic lattice with star, and triangular lattice. We find that the magnitude of AF correlation for the same Manhattan distance is the algebraic sum of the correlations contributed by all shortest paths -- a typical superposition law. Such a law is independent of nonequivalent paths, lattice geometries, and quench style., Comment: 5+10 pages, 3+1 figures

Abstract: A search for proton decay into $e^+/\mu^+$ and a $\eta$ meson has been performed using data from a 0.373 Mton$\cdot$year exposure (6050.3 live days) of Super-Kamiokande. Compared to previous searches this work introduces an improved model of the intranuclear $\eta$ interaction cross section, resulting in a factor of two reduction in uncertainties from this source and $\sim$10\% increase in signal efficiency. No significant data excess was found above the expected number of atmospheric neutrino background events resulting in no indication of proton decay into either mode. Lower limits on the proton partial lifetime of $1.4\times\mathrm{10^{34}~years}$ for $p\rightarrow e^+\eta$ and $7.3\times\mathrm{10^{33}~years}$ for $p\rightarrow \mu^+\eta$ at the 90$\%$ C.L. were set. These limits are around 1.5 times longer than our previous study and are the most stringent to date.

Abstract: The Super-Kamiokande and T2K collaborations present a joint measurement of neutrino oscillation parameters from their atmospheric and beam neutrino data. It uses a common interaction model for events overlapping in neutrino energy and correlated detector systematic uncertainties between the two datasets, which are found to be compatible. Using 3244.4 days of atmospheric data and a beam exposure of $19.7(16.3) \times 10^{20}$ protons on target in (anti)neutrino mode, the analysis finds a 1.9$\sigma$ exclusion of CP-conservation (defined as $J_{CP}=0$) and a preference for the normal mass ordering., Comment: 12 pages, 4 figures

4. PDS 70 unveiled by star-hopping: total intensity, polarimetry and mm-imaging modeled in concert

Abstract: Context. Most ground-based planet search direct imaging campaigns use angular differential imaging, which distorts the signal from extended sources like protoplanetary disks. In the case PDS 70, a young system with two planets found within the cavity of a protoplanetary disk, obtaining a reliable image of both planets and disk is essential to understanding planet-disk interactions. Aims. Our goals are to reveal the true intensity of the planets and disk without self-subtraction effects for the first time, search for new giant planets beyond separations of 0.1" and to study the morphology of the disk shaped by two massive planets. Methods. We present YJHK-band imaging, polarimetry, and spatially resolved spectroscopy of PDS 70 using near-simultaneous reference star differential imaging, also known as star-hopping. We created a radiative transfer model of the system to match the near-infrared imaging and polarimetric data, along with sub-millimeter imaging from ALMA. Furthermore, we extracted the spectra of the planets and the disk and compared them. Results. We find that the disk is quite flared with a scale height of ~15% at the outer edge of the disk at ~90 au, similar to some disks in the literature. The gap inside of ~50 au is estimated to have ~1% of the dust density of the outer disk. The Northeast outer disk arc seen in previous observations is likely the outer lip of the flared disk. Abundance ratios of grains estimated by the modeling indicate a shallow grain-size index > -2.7, instead of the canonical -3.5. There is both vertical and radial segregation of grains. Planet c is well separated from the disk and has a spectrum similar to planet b, clearly redder than the disk spectra. Planet c is possibly associated with the sudden flaring of the disk starting at ~50 au. No new planets > 5 Mj were found., Comment: Accepted to A&A on April 11, 2024. 20 pages, 19 figures

Abstract: Neutrinos from very nearby supernovae, such as Betelgeuse, are expected to generate more than ten million events over 10\,s in Super-Kamokande (SK). At such large event rates, the buffers of the SK analog-to-digital conversion board (QBEE) will overflow, causing random loss of data that is critical for understanding the dynamics of the supernova explosion mechanism. In order to solve this problem, two new DAQ modules were developed to aid in the observation of very nearby supernovae. The first of these, the SN module, is designed to save only the number of hit PMTs during a supernova burst and the second, the Veto module, prescales the high rate neutrino events to prevent the QBEE from overflowing based on information from the SN module. In the event of a very nearby supernova, these modules allow SK to reconstruct the time evolution of the neutrino event rate from beginning to end using both QBEE and SN module data. This paper presents the development and testing of these modules together with an analysis of supernova-like data generated with a flashing laser diode. We demonstrate that the Veto module successfully prevents DAQ overflows for Betelgeuse-like supernovae as well as the long-term stability of the new modules. During normal running the Veto module is found to issue DAQ vetos a few times per month resulting in a total dead time less than 1\,ms, and does not influence ordinary operations. Additionally, using simulation data we find that supernovae closer than 800~pc will trigger Veto module resulting in a prescaling of the observed neutrino data., Comment: 28 pages, 18 figures. Abstract: We present the results of the charge ratio ($R$) and polarization ($P^{\mu}_{0}$) measurements using the decay electron events collected from 2008 September to 2022 June by the Super-Kamiokande detector. Because of its underground location and long operation, we performed high precision measurements by accumulating cosmic-ray muons. We measured the muon charge ratio to be $R=1.32 \pm 0.02$ $(\mathrm{stat.}{+}\mathrm{syst.})$ at $E_{\mu}\cos \theta_{\mathrm{Zenith}}=0.7^{+0.3}_{-0.2}$ $\mathrm{TeV}$, where $E_{\mu}$ is the muon energy and $\theta_{\mathrm{Zenith}}$ is the zenith angle of incoming cosmic-ray muons. This result is consistent with the Honda flux model while this suggests a tension with the $\pi K$ model of $1.9\sigma$. We also measured the muon polarization at the production location to be $P^{\mu}_{0}=0.52 \pm 0.02$ $(\mathrm{stat.}{+}\mathrm{syst.})$ at the muon momentum of $0.9^{+0.6}_{-0.1}$ $\mathrm{TeV}/c$ at the surface of the mountain; this also suggests a tension with the Honda flux model of $1.5\sigma$. This is the most precise measurement ever to experimentally determine the cosmic-ray muon polarization near $1~\mathrm{TeV}/c$. Abstract: The first loading of gadolinium (Gd) into Super-Kamiokande in 2020 was successful, and the neutron capture efficiency on Gd reached 50\%. To further increase the Gd neutron capture efficiency to 75\%, 26.1 tons of $\rm Gd_2(\rm SO_4)_3\cdot \rm 8H_2O$ was additionally loaded into Super-Kamiokande (SK) from May 31 to July 4, 2022. As the amount of loaded $\rm Gd_2(\rm SO_4)_3\cdot \rm 8H_2O$ was doubled compared to the first loading, the capacity of the powder dissolving system was doubled. We also developed new batches of gadolinium sulfate with even further reduced radioactive impurities. In addition, a more efficient screening method was devised and implemented to evaluate these new batches of $\rm Gd_2(\rm SO_4)_3\cdot \rm 8H_2O$. Following the second loading, the Gd concentration in SK was measured to be $333.5\pm2.5$ ppm via an Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (AAS). From the mean neutron capture time constant of neutrons from an Am/Be calibration source, the Gd concentration was independently measured to be 332.7 $\pm$ 6.8(sys.) $\pm$ 1.1(stat.) ppm, consistent with the AAS result. Furthermore, during the loading the Gd concentration was monitored continually using the capture time constant of each spallation neutron produced by cosmic-ray muons,and the final neutron capture efficiency was shown to become 1.5 times higher than that of the first loaded phase, as expected., Comment: 34 pages, 13 figures, submitted to Nuclear Inst. and Methods in Physics Research, A

Abstract: Among multi-messenger observations of the next galactic core-collapse supernova, Super-Kamiokande (SK) plays a critical role in detecting the emitted supernova neutrinos, determining the direction to the supernova (SN), and notifying the astronomical community of these observations in advance of the optical signal. On 2022, SK has increased the gadolinium dissolved in its water target (SK-Gd) and has achieved a Gd concentration of 0.033%, resulting in enhanced neutron detection capability, which in turn enables more accurate determination of the supernova direction. Accordingly, SK-Gd's real-time supernova monitoring system (Abe te al. 2016b) has been upgraded. SK_SN Notice, a warning system that works together with this monitoring system, was released on December 13, 2021, and is available through GCN Notices (Barthelmy et al. 2000). When the monitoring system detects an SN-like burst of events, SK_SN Notice will automatically distribute an alarm with the reconstructed direction to the supernova candidate within a few minutes. In this paper, we present a systematic study of SK-Gd's response to a simulated galactic SN. Assuming a supernova situated at 10 kpc, neutrino fluxes from six supernova models are used to characterize SK-Gd's pointing accuracy using the same tools as the online monitoring system. The pointing accuracy is found to vary from 3-7$^\circ$ depending on the models. However, if the supernova is closer than 10 kpc, SK_SN Notice can issue an alarm with three-degree accuracy, which will benefit follow-up observations by optical telescopes with large fields of view., Comment: 38 pages, 29 figures, 6 tables

Abstract: An analysis of solar neutrino data from the fourth phase of Super-Kamiokande~(SK-IV) from October 2008 to May 2018 is performed and the results are presented. The observation time of the data set of SK-IV corresponds to $2970$~days and the total live time for all four phases is $5805$~days. For more precise solar neutrino measurements, several improvements are applied in this analysis: lowering the data acquisition threshold in May 2015, further reduction of the spallation background using neutron clustering events, precise energy reconstruction considering the time variation of the PMT gain. The observed number of solar neutrino events in $3.49$--$19.49$ MeV electron kinetic energy region during SK-IV is $65,443^{+390}_{-388}\,(\mathrm{stat.})\pm 925\,(\mathrm{syst.})$ events. Corresponding $\mathrm{^{8}B}$ solar neutrino flux is $(2.314 \pm 0.014\, \rm{(stat.)} \pm 0.040 \, \rm{(syst.)}) \times 10^{6}~\mathrm{cm^{-2}\,s^{-1}}$, assuming a pure electron-neutrino flavor component without neutrino oscillations. The flux combined with all SK phases up to SK-IV is $(2.336 \pm 0.011\, \rm{(stat.)} \pm 0.043 \, \rm{(syst.)}) \times 10^{6}~\mathrm{cm^{-2}\,s^{-1}}$. Based on the neutrino oscillation analysis from all solar experiments, including the SK $5805$~days data set, the best-fit neutrino oscillation parameters are $\rm{sin^{2} \theta_{12,\,solar}} = 0.306 \pm 0.013 $ and $\Delta m^{2}_{21,\,\mathrm{solar}} = (6.10^{+ 0.95}_{-0.81}) \times 10^{-5}~\rm{eV}^{2}$, with a deviation of about 1.5$\sigma$ from the $\Delta m^{2}_{21}$ parameter obtained by KamLAND. The best-fit neutrino oscillation parameters obtained from all solar experiments and KamLAND are $\sin^{2} \theta_{12,\,\mathrm{global}} = 0.307 \pm 0.012 $ and $\Delta m^{2}_{21,\,\mathrm{global}} = (7.50^{+ 0.19}_{-0.18}) \times 10^{-5}~\rm{eV}^{2}$., Comment: 47 pages, 61 figures

Abstract: We present a measurement of neutrino oscillation parameters with the Super-Kamiokande detector using atmospheric neutrinos from the complete pure-water SK I-V (April 1996-July 2020) data set, including events from an expanded fiducial volume. The data set corresponds to 6511.3 live days and an exposure of 484.2 kiloton-years. Measurements of the neutrino oscillation parameters $\Delta m^2_{32}$, $\sin^2\theta_{23}$, $\sin^2 \theta_{13}$, $\delta_{CP}$, and the preference for the neutrino mass ordering are presented with atmospheric neutrino data alone, and with constraints on $\sin^2 \theta_{13}$ from reactor neutrino experiments. Our analysis including constraints on $\sin^2 \theta_{13}$ favors the normal mass ordering at the 92.3% level., Comment: 24 pages, 18 figures

Abstract: We report the first measurement of the atmospheric neutrino-oxygen neutral-current quasielastic (NCQE) cross section in the gadolinium-loaded Super-Kamiokande (SK) water Cherenkov detector. In June 2020, SK began a new experimental phase, named SK-Gd, by loading 0.011% by mass of gadolinium into the ultrapure water of the SK detector. The introduction of gadolinium to ultrapure water has the effect of improving the neutron-tagging efficiency. Using a 552.2 day data set from August 2020 to June 2022, we measure the NCQE cross section to be 0.74 $\pm$ 0.22(stat.) $^{+0.85}_{-0.15}$ (syst.) $\times$ 10$^{-38}$ cm$^{2}$/oxygen in the energy range from 160 MeV to 10 GeV, which is consistent with the atmospheric neutrino-flux-averaged theoretical NCQE cross section and the measurement in the SK pure-water phase within the uncertainties. Furthermore, we compare the models of the nucleon-nucleus interactions in water and find that the Binary Cascade model and the Liege Intranuclear Cascade model provide a somewhat better fit to the observed data than the Bertini Cascade model. Since the atmospheric neutrino-oxygen NCQE reactions are one of the main backgrounds in the search for diffuse supernova neutrino background (DSNB), these new results will contribute to future studies - and the potential discovery - of the DSNB in SK., Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures

Abstract: We report a search for time variations of the solar $^8$B neutrino flux using 5804 live days of Super-Kamiokande data collected between May 31, 1996, and May 30, 2018. Super-Kamiokande measured the precise time of each solar neutrino interaction over 22 calendar years to search for solar neutrino flux modulations with unprecedented precision. Periodic modulations are searched for in a dataset comprising five-day interval solar neutrino flux measurements with a maximum likelihood method. We also applied the Lomb-Scargle method to this dataset to compare it with previous reports. The only significant modulation found is due to the elliptic orbit of the Earth around the Sun. IL-27 is relevant to psoriasis pathogenesis. We previously found that IL-27 stimulates the proliferation of keratinocytes. However, the mRNAs involved in the process have not been fully studied. This study aims to identify potential pathways and hub genes associated with proliferation in keratinocytes with IL-27 intervention by bioinformatics analysis.Methods: The mRNA expression profiles from HaCaT cells with or without IL-27 treated were analyzed by bioinformatics tools. The protein–protein interaction (PPI) network was constructed to screen gene clusters and hub genes associated with proliferation. Gene Ontology (GO), Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG), and Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA) were used to identify the function of the mRNAs. The GEO database and quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) were used to verify the expression levels of hub genes in psoriatic skin lesions and IL-27-treated psoriasiform keratinocytes, respectively.Results: We found 1257 differentially expressed genes and screened 2 crucial gene clusters. GO analysis revealed that Cluster 1 was mainly enriched in “Mitotic sister chromatid segregation” and “Spindle”. Cluster 2 was mainly enriched in the “Pyruvate metabolic process” and “Oxidoreductase complex”. KEGG analysis showed that Cluster 1 and Cluster 2 were mainly enriched in “Cell cycle” and “Glycolysis/Gluconeogenesis”, respectively. We then identified 6 hub genes enriched in the two pathways, including CCNB1, PTTG1, CDC20, PLK1, PKM, and LDHA. GSEA complemented the role of the mitochondrial “Oxidative phosphorylation” pathway. Moreover, we found that 6 hub genes were upregulated in psoriasis skin lesions and IL-27 elevated the hub genes expression in M5-induced psoriasiform keratinocytes.Conclusion: IL-27 possibly promotes glycolysis, mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, and cell cycle progression in keratinocytes. Additionally, we identified CCNB1, PTTG1, CDC20, PLK1, PKM, and LDHA as hub genes that may be involved in the mechanism of IL-27 facilitating keratinocyte proliferation in psoriasis.Keywords: psoriasis, glycolysis, oxidative phosphorylation, bioinformatics

Patients in the TAPP group underwent laparoscopic TAPP IHR, while patients in the TEP group underwent laparoscopic TEP IHR. Visual analogue scores (VAS) were measured at 1, 3, and 7 d after repair. Gastrin (GAS), motilin (MTL), matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-2, MMP-9, and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases-1 (TIMP-1) were assessed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Superoxide dismutase (SOD) was tested by spectrophotometry and malondialdehyde (MDA) and β-endorphin (β-EP) were examined by radioimmunoprecipitation. Total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC) was evaluated by chemical colorimetry, quality of life was evaluated by SF-36, and fibrinogen (FIB), C-reactive protein (CRP), antitrypsin (al-AT), and interleukin-6 (IL-6) levels were determined by immunoturbidimetry. Complications and postoperative recurrence were recorded.Results: VAS scores in the TEP group were lower than those in the TAPP group. Operative time, hospital stay, time for postoperative activity out of bed, and time taken to exhaust were shorter in the TEP group than in the TAPP group. Intraoperative blood loss was less in the TEP group than in the TAPP group. GAS, MTL, SOD, and T-AOC were higher, and MDA, β-EP, CRP, FIB, alAT, IL-6, MMP-2, MMP-9, and TIMP-1 were lower in the TEP group than the TAPP group. Quality of life was improved in the TEP group compared with the TAPP group. We aimed to review the functional and structural brain topological properties in patients with NP and consider how graph measures reveal potential mechanisms and are applied to clinical practice. Related studies were searched in PubMed and Web of Science databases. Topological property changes in patients with NP, including small-worldness, functional separation, integration, and centrality metrics, were reviewed. The findings suggest that NP was characterized by retained but declined small-worldness, indicating an insidious imbalance between network integration and segregation. The global-level measures revealed decreased global and local efficiency in the NP, implying decreased information transfer efficiency for both long- and short-range connections. Altered nodal centrality measures involve various brain regions, mostly those associated with pain, cognition, and emotion. Graph theory is a powerful tool for identifying topological properties of patients with NP. These specific brain changes in patients with NP are very helpful in revealing the potential mechanisms of NP, developing new treatment strategies, and evaluating the efficacy and prognosis of NP.Keywords: neuropathic pain, graph theory, brain network, magnetic resonance imaging

This study evaluated the clinical efficacy of azvudine in hospitalized patients with different severities of COVID-19 because few studies have described this in patients with severe and non-severe COVID-19.Methods: This retrospective study included hospitalized patients with COVID-19 in Guizhou Provincial People’s Hospital between December 2022 and January 2023. Azvudine-treated patients and controls were matched for sex, age, and disease severity at admission. Laboratory results and outcomes, including all-cause mortality, invasive mechanical ventilation, intensive care unit admission, and hospital stay length, were evaluated. Stratified analysis was used to explore the difference in the efficacy of azvudine in severe and non-severe COVID-19 patients.Results: No significant differences in all-cause mortality were observed between the 303 azvudine recipients and 303 matched controls. However, azvudine-treated patients had shorter hospital stays (8.34± 4.79 vs 9.17± 6.25 days, P=0.046) and higher lymphocyte improvement rates (21.5% vs 13.9%, P=0.019), with a more pronounced effect in patients with non-severe COVID-19 (length of hospital stay, 8.07± 4.35 vs 10.00± 6.29 days, P=0.001; lymphocyte improvement rate, 23.8% vs 12.8%, P=0.015).Conclusion: Azvudine treatment shortens hospital stay length and increases the rate of lymphocyte count improvement in patients with non-severe COVID-19, suggesting that azvudine may be a treatment option for these patients.Keywords: azvudine, COVID-19, severity, effectiveness, clinical outcome, hospital stay length

18. Morphological evidence for nanoflares heating warm loops in the solar corona

Abstract: Nanoflares are impulsive energy releases by magnetic reconnection in the braided coronal magnetic field, which is a potential mechanism for heating the corona. However, there are still sporadic observations of the interchange of braiding structure segments and footpoints inside coronal loops, which is predicted to be the morphological evolution of the reconnecting magnetic bundles in the nanoflare picture. This work aims to detect the evolutions of the pairs of braiding strands within the apparent single coronal loops observed in Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) images. The loop strands are detected on two kinds of upsampled AIA 193 \AA\ images, which are obtained by upscaling the Point Spread Function matched AIA images via Bicubic interpolation and are generated using a super-resolution convolutional neural network, respectively. The architecture of the network is designed to map the AIA images to unprecedentedly high spatial resolution coronal images taken by High-resolution Coronal Imager (Hi-C) during its brief flight. At times, pairs of separate strands that appear braided together later evolved into pairs of almost parallel strands with completely exchanged parts. These evolutions offer morphological evidence that magnetic reconnections between the braiding strands have taken place, which is further supported by the appearance of transient hot emissions containing significant high-temperature components (T > 5MK) at the footpoints of the braiding structures. The brief appearances of the two rearranging strands support that magnetic reconnections have occurred within what appears to be a single AIA loop., Comment: Accepted for publication in Astronomy & Astrophysics

Abstract: We report the first search result for the flux of astrophysical electron antineutrinos for energies O(10) MeV in the gadolinium-loaded Super-Kamiokande (SK) detector. In June 2020, gadolinium was introduced to the ultra-pure water of the SK detector in order to detect neutrons more efficiently. In this new experimental phase, SK-Gd, we can search for electron antineutrinos via inverse beta decay with efficient background rejection and higher signal efficiency thanks to the high efficiency of the neutron tagging technique. In this paper, we report the result for the initial stage of SK-Gd with a $22.5\times552$ $\rm kton\cdot day$ exposure at 0.01% Gd mass concentration. No significant excess over the expected background in the observed events is found for the neutrino energies below 31.3 MeV. Thus, the flux upper limits are placed at the 90% confidence level. The limits and sensitivities are already comparable with the previous SK result with pure-water ($22.5 \times 2970 \rm kton\cdot day$) owing to the enhanced neutron tagging.

The impact of gender on TAVR outcomes remains controversial. There have been no studies evaluating the simultaneous effects of both factors on TAVR outcomes.Methods: We retrospectively analyzed a prospective cohort of patients who underwent TAVR between January 2016 and December 2022. The patients were stratified by gender and the presence of PH. The primary outcome of the study was all-cause mortality. Secondary outcome was a composite of all-cause mortality and heart failure hospitalization.Results: We identified a total of 133 female patients without PH, 179 males without PH, 87 females with PH, and 122 males with PH. The median follow-up period was 18 months. Female patients without PH demonstrated a lower cumulative mortality rate compared to those with male gender and/or PH. Adjusted multivariate Cox proportional hazard analyses revealed that male gender and PH status, either individually or in combination, were independently associated with long-term mortality when compared to female patients without PH. Specifically, females with PH (HR 6.80, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.49– 31.12, P=0.013), males without PH (HR 6.45, 95% CI: 1.47– 28.22, P=0.013), and males with PH (HR 7.2, 95% CI: 1.63– 31.81, P=0.009) demonstrated significantly higher risk for mortality.Conclusion: Patients who were male or had PH status had a higher risk of mortality. However, a new perspective suggests that individuals perceiving JI may proactively take measures to protect their positions. Drawing from the conservation of resources theory, this study argues that perceived resource loss due to JI motivates employees to engage in ingratiating behaviors for expanding their social capital. Additionally, this study empirically establishes the mediating role of emotional exhaustion and the moderating effect of power distance.Methods: A daily diary design was used to examine the relationship between daily JI and next-day ingratiation. Our analyses of data collected from 134 full‐time employees across 10 consecutive working days using multi-level model.Results: Our results showed that daily JI was found to affect next-day ingratiation (γ = 0.14, p < 0.01), and this relationship was mediated by emotional exhaustion (indirect effect = 0.07, p < 0.05, 95% CI [0.01, 0.13]). Power distance moderated the relationship between emotional exhaustion and ingratiation (γ = 0.25, p < 0.001), and further moderated the indirect effect of JI on ingratiation via emotional exhaustion.Conclusion: Our study has revealed that JI serves as a catalyst for employees to engage in resource creation behavior, thereby contributing to a deeper understanding of the implications of JI as an independent variable for both scholars and businesses.Keywords: job insecurity, emotional exhaustion, power distance, ingratiation

Among them, there were 102 cases of gastric cancer (60.0%) and 68 cases of colon cancer (40.0%). There were 110 male patients (64.7%) and 60 female patients (35.3%), with patient ages ranging between 64 and 82 years old. A cross-sectional survey was conducted using a general data questionnaire, grip apparatus and the Nutritional Risk Screening 2002 (NRS-2002) score. Multiple linear regression was used to analyse the explanatory factors on the grip strength of older patients with gastrointestinal tumours.Results: The grip strength of older patients with gastrointestinal tumours was 25.3± 5.3 kg. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that gender, age, disease, body mass index (BMI), albumin concentration and the NRS-2002 score were the main explanatory factors on grip strength (P< 0.05).Conclusion: Grip strength was lower in older patients with gastrointestinal tumours and was lower in females, those aged ≥ 70 years, patients with colorectal cancer, individuals with a BMI of < 18.5, those with an albumin concentration of < 35g/l and those with an NRS2002 score of ≥ 3. Clinical staff should dynamically evaluate the level of grip strength in patients with gastrointestinal tumors and develop individualized interventions based on the related explanatory factors.Keywords: gastrointestinal tumour, grip strength, analysis of explanatory factors, nursing

Therefore, we aimed to create a simple depression screening model that allows earlier detection of depressive disorders in elderly diabetic patients by community health workers.Methods: The prediction model was developed in a primary cohort that consisted of 210 patients with diabetes, and data were gathered from December 2022 to February 2023. The independent validation cohort included 99 consecutive patients from February 2023 to March 2023. Multivariable logistic regression analysis was used to develop the predictive model. We incorporated common demographic characteristics, diabetes–specific factors, family structure characteristics, the self–perceived burden scale (SPBS) score, and the family APGAR (adaptation, partnership, growth, affection, resolution) score. The performance of the nomogram was assessed with respect to its calibration (calibration curve, the Hosmer–Lemeshow test), discrimination (the area under the curve (AUC)), and clinical usefulness (Decision curve analysis (DCA)).Results: The prediction nomogram incorporated 5 crucial factors such as glucose monitoring status, exercise status, monthly income, sleep disorder status, and the SPBS score. The model demonstrated strong discrimination in the primary cohort, with an AUC of 0.839 (95% CI, 0.781– 0.897). This discriminative ability was further validated in the validation cohort, with an AUC of 0.857 (95% CI, 0.779– 0.935). Moreover, the nomogram exhibited satisfactory calibration. DCA suggested that the prediction of depression in elderly patients with diabetes mellitus was of great clinical value.Conclusion: The prediction model provides precise and user–friendly guidance for community health workers in preliminary screenings for depression among elderly patients with diabetes.Keywords: prediction model, depression, elderly, diabetes, community–based

Abstract: The Super $\tau$-Charm facility (STCF) is an electron-positron collider proposed by the Chinese particle physics community. It is designed to operate in a center-of-mass energy range from 2 to 7 GeV with a peak luminosity of $0.5\times 10^{35}{\rm cm}^{-2}{\rm s}^{-1}$ or higher. The STCF will produce a data sample about a factor of 100 larger than that by the present $\tau$-Charm factory -- the BEPCII, providing a unique platform for exploring the asymmetry of matter-antimatter (charge-parity violation), in-depth studies of the internal structure of hadrons and the nature of non-perturbative strong interactions, as well as searching for exotic hadrons and physics beyond the Standard Model. The STCF project in China is under development with an extensive R\&D program. This document presents the physics opportunities at the STCF, describes conceptual designs of the STCF detector system, and discusses future plans for detector R\&D and physics case studies.

Abstract: Hyperactive comets are a small group of comets whose activity are higher than expected. They seem to emit more water than they should based on the size of their nucleus and comet 46P/Wirtanen is one of them. Investigating its activity and composition evolution could provide clues about its origins and formation region in the Solar nebulae. Given the exceptional close approach in 2018 of comet 46P to the Earth, we aim to study the evolution of its activity and composition as a function of heliocentric distances before and after perihelion. We used both TRAPPIST telescopes to monitor the comet for almost a year with broad-band and narrow-band filters. We derived the production rates of five gaseous species, e.g. OH, NH, CN, C$_3$ and C$_2$, using a Haser model as well as the A($\theta$)f$\rho$, dust proxy parameter. The comet was also observed with two optical high resolution spectrographs UVES and ESPRESSO mounted on the 8-m ESO VLT to measure the isotopic ratios of C and N, the oxygen forbidden lines ratios and the NH$_2$ ortho-to-para ratios. We followed during almost a year the rise and decline of the production rates of different species as well as the dust activity of 46P on both pre- and post-perihelion. Relative abundances with respect to CN and OH along the orbit of the comet show constant and symmetric abundance ratios and a typical coma composition. We determined the rotation period of the nucleus using high cadence observations and long series of CN images on several nights, and we obtained a value of (9.18$\pm$0.05) hr at perihelion. Using high resolution spectra of 46P coma, we derived C and N isotopic ratios of 100$\pm$20 and 150$\pm$30 and a green-to-red forbidden oxygen [OI] lines ratio of 0.23$\pm$0.02. We measured a NH$_2$ ortho-to-para ratio of 3.31$\pm$0.03 and derived an ammonia ratio of 1.19$\pm$0.03 corresponding to a spin temperature of 27$\pm$1 K., Comment: 10 pages, 10 figures

Abstract: Cosmic-ray muons that enter the Super-Kamiokande detector cause hadronic showers due to spallation in water, producing neutrons and radioactive isotopes. Those are a major background source for studies of MeV-scale neutrinos and searches for rare events. Since 2020, gadolinium was introduced in the ultra-pure water in the Super-Kamiokande detector to improve the detection efficiency of neutrons. In this study, the cosmogenic neutron yield was measured using data acquired during the period after the gadolinium loading. The yield was found to be $(2.76 \pm 0.02\,\mathrm{(stat.) \pm 0.19\,\mathrm{(syst.)}}) \times 10^{-4}\,\mu^{-1} \mathrm{g^{-1} cm^{2}}$ at 259 GeV of average muon energy at the Super-Kamiokande detector., Comment: 10 pages, 10 figures, 3 tables

Abstract: Cybele asteroids constitute an appealing reservoir of primitive material genetically linked to the outer Solar System, and the physical properties of the largest members can be readily accessed by large telescopes. We took advantage of the bright apparition of (65) Cybele in July and August 2021 to acquire high-angular-resolution images and optical light curves of the asteroid with which we aim to analyse its shape and bulk properties. 7 series of images acquired with VLT/SPHERE were combined with optical light curves to reconstruct the shape of the asteroid using the ADAM, MPCD, and SAGE algorithms. The origin of the shape was investigated by means of N-body simulations. Cybele has a volume-equivalent diameter of 263+/-3km and a bulk density of 1.55+/-0.19g.cm-3. Notably, its shape and rotation state are closely compatible with those of a Maclaurin equilibrium figure. The lack of a collisional family associated with Cybele and the higher bulk density of that body with respect to other large P-type asteroids suggest that it never experienced any large disruptive impact followed by rapid re-accumulation. This would imply that its present-day shape represents the original one. However, numerical integration of the long-term dynamical evolution of a hypothetical family shows that it is dispersed by gravitational perturbations and chaotic diffusion over Gyrs of evolution. The very close match between Cybele and an equilibrium figure opens up the possibility that D>260km small bodies from the outer Solar System all formed at equilibrium. However, we cannot rule out an old impact as the origin of the equilibrium shape. Cybele itself is found to be dynamically unstable, implying that it was recently (<1Ga) placed on its current orbit either through slow diffusion from a relatively stable orbit in the Cybele region or, less likely, from an unstable, JFC orbit in the planet-crossing region., Comment: 19 pages, 14 figures, 4 tables, accepted for publication in A&A

Abstract: Various WIMP dark matter searches using the full data set of XMASS-I, a single-phase liquid xenon detector, are reported in this paper. Stable XMASS-I data taking accumulated a total live time of 1590.9 days between November 20, 2013 and February 1, 2019 with an analysis threshold of ${\rm 1.0\,keV_{ee}}$. In the latter half of data taking a lower analysis threshold of ${\rm 0.5\,keV_{ee}}$ was also available through a new low threshold trigger. Searching for a WIMP signal in the detector's 97~kg fiducial volume yielded a limit on the WIMP-nucleon scattering cross section of ${\rm 1.4\times 10^{-44}\, cm^{2}}$ for a ${\rm 60\,GeV/c^{2}}$ WIMP at the 90$\%$ confidence level. We also searched for WIMP induced annual modulation signatures in the detector's whole target volume, containing 832~kg of liquid xenon. For nuclear recoils of a ${\rm 8\,GeV/c^{2}}$ WIMP this analysis yielded a 90\% CL cross section limit of ${\rm 2.3\times 10^{-42}\, cm^{2}}$. At a WIMP mass of ${\rm 0.5\, GeV/c^{2}}$ the Migdal effect and Bremsstrahlung signatures were evaluated and lead to 90\% CL cross section limits of ${\rm 1.4\times 10^{-35}\, cm^{2}}$ and ${\rm 1.1\times 10^{-33}\, cm^{2}}$ respectively.

The sleep status of these participants was evaluated using the Children’s Sleep Habits Questionnaire (CSHQ), while attentional network function was assessed with the attention network function test (ANT).Results: Together, these analyses revealed that children with SeLECTS exhibited higher total CSHQ scores and sleep disorder incidence relative to healthy controls (P< 0.001). Children with SeLECTS had higher scores in delayed sleep onset, sleep duration, night awakenings, parasomnias, daytime sleepiness and sleep anxiety (P< 0.01). Total CSHQ scores were negatively correlated with average ANT correct rates (ρ= − 0.253, P< 0.01), while they were positively correlated with total reaction time (ρ=0.367, P< 0.01) and negatively correlated with the efficiency of the alerting and executive control networks (ρ=− 0.344 P< 0.01; ρ=− 0.418 P< 0.01).Conclusion: Children with SeLECTS face a higher risk of experiencing sleep disorders relative to age-matched healthy children, while also demonstrating that the magnitude of the impairment of attentional network function in these children is positively correlated with sleep disorder severity. Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune skin disease accompanied by abnormal immune cell infiltration and excessive production of lipid reactive oxygen species (ROS). Currently, its pathogenesis remains elusive, especially the potential role of ferroptosis in its pathophysiological process.Methods: The microarrays GSE13355 (58 psoriatic skin specimens versus 122 healthy skin specimens) and the ferroptosis database were employed to identify the common differentially expressed genes (DEGs) associated with psoriasis and ferroptosis. The functions of common DEGs were investigated through functional enrichment analysis and protein-protein interaction analysis. The potential diagnostic markers for psoriasis among the common DEGs were identified using four machine-learning algorithms. DGIdb was utilized to explore potential therapeutic agents for psoriasis. Additionally, CIBERSORT was employed to investigate immune infiltration in psoriasis.Results: A total of 8 common DEGs associated with psoriasis and ferroptosis were identified, which are involved in intercellular signaling and affect pathways of cell response to stress and stimulation. Four machine-learning algorithms were employed to identify poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase 12 (PARP12), frizzled homolog 7 (FZD7), and arachidonate 15-lipoxygenase (ALOX15B) among the eight common DEGs as potential diagnostic markers for psoriasis. A total of 18 drugs targeting the five common DEGs were identified as potential candidates for treating psoriasis. Additionally, significant changes were observed in the immune microenvironment of patients with psoriasis.Conclusion: This study has contributed to our enhanced comprehension of ferroptosis-related genes as potential biomarkers for psoriasis diagnosis, as well as the alterations in the immune microenvironment associated with psoriasis. However, the mechanisms of the progression of GS to GBC remain unclear. Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA), modulates DNA/RNA/proteins at epigenetic, pre-transcriptional, transcriptional and posttranscriptional levels, and plays a potential therapeutic role in various diseases. This study aims to identify lncRNAs that have a potential impact on GS-promoted GBC progression.Methods and Results: Six GBC patients without GS, six normal gallbladder tissues, nine gallstones and nine GBC patients with GS were admitted to our hospital. The next-generation RNA-sequencing was performed to analyze differentially expressed (DE) lncRNA and messenger RNA (mRNA) in four groups. Then overlapping and specific molecular signatures were analyzed. We identified 29 co-DEGs and 500 co-DElncRNAs related to gallstone or GBC. The intersection and concatenation of co-DEGs and co-DElncRNA functionally involved in focal adhesion, Transcriptional misregulation in cancers, Protein digestion and absorption, and ECM-receptor interaction signaling pathways may contribute to the development of gallbladder cancer. Further exploration is necessary for early diagnosis and the potential treatment of GBC. FXYD2, MPZL1 and PAH were observed in both co-DEGs and co-DElncRNA and validated by qRT-PCR.Conclusion: Our data identified a series of DEGs and DElncRNAs, which were involved in the progression of GBC and GS-related metabolism pathways. Compared to GBC, the GS profile was more similar to para-tumor tissues in transcriptome level and lower risk of cancer. We employed the Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO) regression and multivariate logistic regression to determine independent predictors and develop a nomogram. This nomogram was appraised by the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC), calibration curve, Hosmer–Lemeshow goodness-of-fit test (HL test), decision curve analysis (DCA), and clinical impact curve (CIC). The enhanced bootstrap method was used for internal validation.Results: Sex, prognostic nutritional index (PNI), hematocrit (HCT), and activities of daily living (ADL) were independent predictors of HRF in AECOPD patients. The developed nomogram based on the above predictors showed good performance. The AUCs for the training, internal, and external validation cohorts were 0.841, 0.884, and 0.852, respectively. The calibration curves and HL test showed excellent concordance. The DCA and CIC showed excellent clinical usefulness. Finally, a dynamic nomogram was developed (https://a18895635453.shinyapps.io/dynnomapp/).Conclusion: This nomogram based on sex, PNI, HCT, and ADL demonstrated high accuracy and clinical value in predicting HRF. Here, we present four Chinese patients with CMC who manifested oral mucosal leukoplakia and nail thickening during early childhood, all displaying fissured tongue lines. The causative pathogens isolated from their oral mucosa and nails were identified as C. albicans and C. parapsilosis through morphology and molecular sequencing. Notably, among the four patients, one presented with vitiligo, while another had hypothyroidism. We have also conducted a review of reported cases of CMC in China and worldwide over the last five years, highlighting potential approaches for diagnosis and treatment. The current molecular evidence in the literature suggests potential for the development of early diagnosis methods, such as screening genetic variables on STAT1 and STAT3. There is limited data on the outcomes of TAVR in patients with bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) and MAVD. The objective of this study is to compare outcomes after TAVR in BAV patients with MAVD and predominant aortic stenosis (PAS).Patients and Methods: Patients with BAV who underwent TAVR between January 2016 and April 2023 were included. The primary outcome was device success. The secondary endpoints were periprocedural mortality and other complications as defined by the Valve Academic Research Consortium-3 (VARC-3). Propensity score matching was used to minimize potential confounding.Results: A total of 262 patients were included in this study, 83 of whom had MAVD. The median age was 72 years, and 55.7% were male. The baseline comorbidity risk files were comparable between the two groups. Patients with MAVD had more mitral regurgitation, tricuspid regurgitation and pulmonary hypertension, larger annular and left ventricular outflow tract dimensions, and more severe calcification than PAS. In the unmatched population, MAVD patients had similar device success rate (69.9% vs 79.9%, P=0.075) and 30-day mortality (3.6% vs 3.4%, P=1) compared to PAS. Propensity score matching resulted in 66 patient pairs. Device success rate were still comparable in the matched population. Other clinical outcomes, including stroke, bleeding (type 2– 4), major vascular complications, acute kidney injury (stage 2– 4) and permanent pacemaker implantation, were comparable between the two groups. Multivariable logistic regression analysis did not show MAVD to be an independent negative predictor of device success. At one year, survival was similar between patients with MAVD and those with PAS.Conclusion: For the bicuspid valve, patients with MAVD had a more challenging anatomy. This study aims to investigate the molecular mechanisms in the B3GALT5-AS1-regulated keloid proliferation and invasion.Methods: Secondary mining of the lncRNA sequencing data from GSE158395 was conducted to screen differentially expressed lncRNAs between keloid and normal tissues. MTT, cell migration and invasion assays were performed to detect the effects of B3GALT5-AS1 on keloid fibroblasts (KFs) proliferation and metastasis. The extracellular acidification rate (ECAR) and oxygen consumption rate (OCR) were also determined to evaluate glycolysis in KFs. RNA pull-down and RNA-protein immunoprecipitation assays were used to confirm the interaction between B3GALT5-AS1 and Hu-Antigen R (HuR). Further ubiquitination and rescue experiments were performed to elucidate the regulatory relationship between B3GALT5-AS1 and HuR.Results: B3GALT5-AS1 was significantly down-regulated in keloid tissues and fibroblasts. B3GALT5-AS1 overexpression significantly inhibited KFs proliferation, glycolysis, invasion, and migration and promoted cell apoptosis, whereas silencing B3GALT5-AS1 inhibited these effects. Moreover, B3GALT5-AS1 binds to HuRand reduces its stability through β-Transducin repeats-containing protein 1 (β-Trcp1)-mediated ubiquitination. They all had prior experience in responding to the early and middle stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. Data were collected through Focus Group Discussions, and then analyzed using the deductive method of content analysis.Results: The participants’ experiences during the infectious disease disaster crisis were examined through ten categories: governance and coordination, information management, human resources, essential medical supplies and equipment, infrastructure, administration, finance and logistics, community engagement and risk communication, delivery of essential services, security, and additional considerations for vulnerable populations. The analysis of the results made it apparent that new systems and policies were imperative for responding appropriately to the concerns and experiences of the public healthcare center staff, and for improving the response to future epidemics.Conclusion: We found that to prepare for infectious disaster situations in the future, it is necessary for health centers to establish a mid- to long-term business continuity plan to ensure the continuation and stability of their operations. Additionally, it was found that health professionals in public health centers also believe in the necessity of education and training programs on disaster preparedness, based on Business Continuity Planning proposed by the World Health Organization. Abstract: A search for the neutrinoless quadruple beta decay of $^{136}$Xe was conducted with the liquid-xenon detector XMASS-I using $\rm 327\; kg \times 800.0 \; days$ of the exposure. The pulse shape discrimination based on the scintillation decay time constant which distinguishes $\gamma$-rays including the signal and $\beta$-rays was used to enhance the search sensitivity. No significant signal excess was observed from the energy spectrum fitting with precise background evaluation, and we set a lower limit of the half life of 3.7 $\times$ 10$^{24}$ years at 90$\%$ confidence level. This is the first experimental constraint of the neutrinoless quadruple beta decay of $^{136}$Xe.

Abstract: We report the measured production rates of unstable isotopes $^9$Li and $^8$He produced by cosmic muon spallation on $^{12}$C using two identical detectors of the RENO experiment. Their beta-decays accompanied by a neutron make a significant contribution to backgrounds of reactor antineutrino events in precise determination of the smallest neutrino mixing angle. The mean muon energy of its near (far) detector with an overburden of 120 (450) m.w.e. is estimated as 33.1 +- 2.3 (73.6 +- 4.4) GeV. Based on roughly 3100 days of data, the cosmogenic production rate of $^9$Li ($^8$He) isotope is measured to be 44.2 +- 3.1 (10.6 +- 7.4) per day at near detector and 10.0 +- 1.1 (2.1 +- 1.5) per day at far detector. This corresponds to yields of $^9$Li ($^8$He), 4.80 +- 0.36 (1.15 +- 0.81) and 9.9 +- 1.1 (2.1 +- 1.5) at near and far detectors, respectively, in a unit of 10$^{-8}$ $\mu^{-1}$ g${^-1}$ cm${^2}$. Combining the measured $^9$Li yields with other available underground measurements, an excellent power-law relationship of the yield with respect to the mean muon energy is found to have an exponent of $\alpha$ = 0.75 +- 0.05., Comment: 11 pages, 14 figures

Abstract: This white paper provides a comprehensive review of our present understanding of experimental neutrino anomalies that remain unresolved, charting the progress achieved over the last decade at the experimental and phenomenological level, and sets the stage for future programmatic prospects in addressing those anomalies. It is purposed to serve as a guiding and motivational "encyclopedic" reference, with emphasis on needs and options for future exploration that may lead to the ultimate resolution of the anomalies. We see the main experimental, analysis, and theory-driven thrusts that will be essential to achieving this goal being: 1) Cover all anomaly sectors -- given the unresolved nature of all four canonical anomalies, it is imperative to support all pillars of a diverse experimental portfolio, source, reactor, decay-at-rest, decay-in-flight, and other methods/sources, to provide complementary probes of and increased precision for new physics explanations; 2) Pursue diverse signatures -- it is imperative that experiments make design and analysis choices that maximize sensitivity to as broad an array of these potential new physics signatures as possible; 3) Deepen theoretical engagement -- priority in the theory community should be placed on development of standard and beyond standard models relevant to all four short-baseline anomalies and the development of tools for efficient tests of these models with existing and future experimental datasets; 4) Openly share data -- Fluid communication between the experimental and theory communities will be required, which implies that both experimental data releases and theoretical calculations should be publicly available; and 5) Apply robust analysis techniques -- Appropriate statistical treatment is crucial to assess the compatibility of data sets within the context of any given model., Comment: Contribution to Snowmass 2021 by the NF02 Topical Group (Understanding Experimental Neutrino Anomalies). Abstract: Measurements of the $^2$H($^{16}$C,$^{16}$C$^{*}$$\rightarrow^4$He+$^{12}$Be or $^6$He+$^{10}$Be)$^2$H inelastic excitation and cluster-decay reactions have been carried out at a beam energy of about 23.5 MeV/u. A specially designed detection system, including one multi-layer silicon-strip telescope at around zero degrees, has allowed the high-efficiency three-fold coincident detection and therefore the event-by-event determination of the energy of the unstable nucleus beam. The decay paths from the $^{16}$C resonances to various states of the final $^{10}$Be or $^{12}$Be nucleus are recognized thanks to the well-resolved $Q$-value spectra. The reconstructed resonances at 16.5(1), 17.3(2), 19.4(1) and 21.6(2) MeV are assigned as the $0^+$, $2^+$, $4^+$ and $6^+$ members, respectively, of the positive-parity $(3/2_\pi^-)^2(1/2_\sigma^-)^2$-bond linear-chain molecular band in $^{16}$C, based on the angular correlation analysis for the 16.5 MeV state and the excellent agreement of decay patterns between the measurements and theoretical predictions. Moreover, another intriguing high-lying state was observed at 27.2(1) MeV which decays almost exclusively to the $\sim$6 MeV states of $^{10}$Be, in line with the newly predicted pure $\sigma$-bond linear-chain configuration., Comment: 13 pages, 10 figures

Abstract: With the assistance of device-to-device (D2D) communications, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) networks are anticipated to support widespread applications in the fifth generation (5G) and beyond wireless systems, by providing seamless coverage, flexible deployment, and high channel rate. However, the networks face significant security threats from malicious eavesdroppers due to the inherent broadcast and openness nature of wireless channels. To ensure secure communications of such networks, physical layer security is a promising technique, which utilizes the randomness and noise of wireless channels to enhance secrecy performance. This article investigates physical layer security performance via spectrum sharing in D2D-enabled UAV networks. We first present two typical network architectures where each UAV serves as either a flying base station or an aerial user equipment. Then, we propose a spectrum sharing strategy to fully exploit interference incurred by spectrum reuse for improving secrecy performance. We further conduct two case studies to evaluate the spectrum sharing strategy in these two typical network architectures, and also show secrecy performance gains compared to traditional spectrum sharing strategy. Finally, we discuss some future research directions in D2D-enabled UAV networks.

Abstract: Cellular-based Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) systems are a promising paradigm to provide reliable and fast Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLoS) communication services for UAV operations. However, such systems are facing a serious GPS spoofing threat for UAV's position. To enable safe and secure UAV navigation BVLoS, this paper proposes a cellular network assisted UAV position monitoring and anti-GPS spoofing system, where deep learning approach is used to live detect spoofed GPS positions. Specifically, the proposed system introduces a MultiLayer Perceptron (MLP) model which is trained on the statistical properties of path loss measurements collected from nearby base stations to decide the authenticity of the GPS position. Experiment results indicate the accuracy rate of detecting GPS spoofing under our proposed approach is more than 93% with three base stations and it can also reach 80% with only one base station.

Abstract: An accurate knowledge of the scattering length is fundamental in ultracold quantum gas experiments and essential for the characterisation of the system as well as for a meaningful comparison to theoretical models. Here, we perform a careful characterisation of the s-wave scattering length $a_s$ for the four highest-abundance isotopes of erbium, in the magnetic field range from 0G to 5G. We report on cross-dimensional thermalization measurements and apply the Enskog equations of change to numerically simulate the thermalization process and to analytically extract an expression for the so-called number of collisions per re-thermalization (NCPR) to obtain $a_s$ from our experimental data. We benchmark the applied cross-dimensional thermalization technique with the experimentally more demanding lattice modulation spectroscopy and find good agreement for our parameter regime. Our experiments are compatible with a dependence of the NCPR with $a_s$, as theoretically expected in the case of strongly dipolar gases. Surprisingly, we experimentally observe a dependency of the NCPR on the density, which might arise due to deviations from an ideal harmonic trapping configuration. Finally, we apply a model for the dependency of the background scattering length with the isotope mass, allowing to estimate the number of bound states of erbium., Comment: 13 pages, 8 figures

Abstract: Context. The recent estimates of the 3D shape of the M/Xe-type triple asteroid system (216) Kleopatra indicated a density of 5 g.cm$^{-3}$. Such a high density implies a high metal content and a low porosity which is not easy to reconcile with its peculiar dumbbell shape. Aims. Given the unprecedented angular resolution of the VLT/SPHERE/ZIMPOL camera, we aim to constrain the mass and the shape of Kleopatra with high accuracy, hence its density. Methods. We combined our new VLT/SPHERE observations of Kleopatra recorded in 2017 and 2018 with archival data, as well as lightcurve, occultation, and delay-Doppler images, to derive its 3D shape model using two different algorithms (ADAM, MPCD). Furthermore, an N-body dynamical model allowed us to retrieve the orbital elements of the two moons as explained in the accompanying paper. Results. The shape of Kleopatra is very close to an equilibrium dumbbell figure with two lobes and a thick neck. Its volume equivalent diameter (118.75$\pm$1.40) km and mass (2.97$\pm$0.32) 10$^{18}$ kg imply a bulk density of (3.38$\pm$0.50) g cm$^{-3}$. Such a low density for a supposedly metal-rich body indicates a substantial porosity within the primary. This porous structure along with its near-equilibrium shape is compatible with a formation scenario including a giant impact followed by reaccumulation. Kleopatra's current rotation period and dumbbell shape imply that it is in a critically rotating state. The low effective gravity along the equator of the body, together with the equatorial orbits of the moons and possibly rubble-pile structure, opens the possibility that the moons formed via mass shedding. Conclusions. Kleopatra is a puzzling multiple system due to the unique characteristics of the primary. It deserves particular attention in the future, with the Extremely Large Telescopes and possibly a dedicated space mission., Comment: Accepted for publication in Astronomy and Astrophysics
