Şer’iyye Sicilleri ya da diğer adıyla Kadı Sicilleri içeriği ile Osmanlı Devleti’nin ekonomik, sosyal, kültürel ve idari yapısına ışık tutan en önemli arşiv kaynakları arasındadır. Bu kaynaklar içerisinde kimi zaman diğer kayıtlarla birlikte tutulmuş olan, kimi zamansa müstakil olarak ayrı bir deftere kaydedilmiş terekeler bu kapsamda çok önemli bilgiler sunmaktadır. Tereke kayıtlarında ölen kişinin ismi, ikametgah bilgisi, her zaman olmasa da kişinin mesleği, varisleri, parasal değerleri ile birlikte geride bıraktığı mallar, borçları ve alacakları ve varsa vasiyeti kaydedilirdi. Bunun yanı sıra defin masrafları ve devlet görevlilerinin aldığı harç ve resimler gibi giderler de yine burada belirtilip, son olarak toplam giderler tüm varlıklardan çıkarılarak varislere düşen hisseler yazılırdı. Kişilerin muhallefatı yaşadıkları çevrenin ekonomik, sosyal ve kültürel yapısına ilişkin birçok ipucu sağlamaktadır. Kişinin sahip olduğu kıyafetler, ev eşyaları, gıda ürünleri, gayrimenkulleri ve daha birçok malın kaydı kişinin yaşadığı bölgeye ilişkin sosyo-ekonomik bir değerlendirme yapmayı mümkün kılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Osmanlı Devleti’nin farklı coğrafi bölgelerine ait iki şehrinin, Bursa ve Rize’nin, ekonomik ve sosyal yapısı bahsi geçen tereke kayıtları ışığında değerlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır., Şer'iyye Sicils, or Judicial Records, are among the most important archival sources that shed light on the economic, social, cultural and administrative structure of the Ottoman Empire. Among these sources, the inheritance records that are sometimes kept together with other records, sometimes independently recorded in a separate sicil provide very important information in this context. In the inheritance records, the name of the deceased, his/her residence information, the profession, heirs, monetary values of the deceased, debts and receivables and will, if any, were recorded. In addition, expenses such as burial expenses and fees received by government officials were also stated here. And finally, the total expenses were deducted from all assets and the shares of the heirs were written in the end. People's assets provides many clues about the economic, social and cultural life of the environment in which they live. The registration of the clothes, household goods, food products, real estate and many other property owned by the deceased makes a socio-economic evaluation of the region where the person lives possible. In this study, the economic and social structure of two cities belonging to different geographical regions of the Ottoman Empire, Bursa and Rize, have been evaluated in the light of the aforementioned inheritance records.

ÖZETAmaç: Oral yolla yeterli beslenmeyi sağlayamayan hastalarda metabolik gereksinimleri karşılamak için enteralveya parenteral beslenme yolları kullanılmaktadır. Perkutan endoskopik gastrostomi (PEG), gastrointestinalsistem fonksiyonları normal olan ve oral yolla beslenemeyen hastalarda uzun süreli enteral beslenmeiçin tercih edilen bir işlemdir. Amacımız PEG işlemi yaptığımız hastaların sonuçlarını literatür eşliğindeincelemektir.Gereç ve Yöntemler: 2012-2018 yılları arasında hastanemiz genel cerrahi endoskopi ünitesinde perkutanendoskopik gasrostomi tüpü takılan 128 hastanın kayıtları retrospektif olarak incelendi. Hastaların yaşı, cinsiyeti,işlem tarihi, primer hastalığı (peg endikasyonu) gibi bilgiler ile işlem sonrası gelişen komplikasyonlardeğerlendirildi.Bulgular: Çalışmaya 52 erkek (%40,63) ve 76 kadın (%59,4) olmak üzere toplam 128 hasta katılmıştır. Hastaların97’si (%75,8) yatan hasta, 31’ si (%24.2) hasta ayaktan gelen hastalardı. Yatan hastalardan 90 (% 92,8)yoğun bakım ünitesinde 7(% 7,2) si nöroloji kliniğinde yatmaktadır. PEG takılan hastaların tamamında primertanı SVO idi. Majör komplikasyon gelişmedi. Minör komplikasyolar 6 hastada (%4,69) yara enfeksiyonu ve 5hastada (%3,91) PEG kenarından sızdırma vardır. Bütün hastalar semptomatik tedaviden fayda gördü.Sonuç: PEG deneyimli ekip tarafından yapıldığı takdirde basit, güvenli, komplikasyon oranı düşük, etkili birenteral beslenme yöntemidir. Uygun hastalarda, uzun süreli enteral beslenme için öncelikle başvurulmasıgereken beslenme şeklidir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Endoskopi; Gastrostomi; Teknik; KomplikasyonABSTRACTAim : In patients with inadequate oral feeding enteral and parenteral feeding are used in order to maintainmetabolic needs. Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy is a procedure preferred for long-term enteralfeeding of patients with normal gastrointestinal system functions but unable to get oral feeding. Our aimis to assess the results of our patients who have undergone PEG procedure in association with literaturereview.Material and method: Patients charts of 128 patients who have undergone percutaneous endoscopicgastrostomy tube placement in general surgery department of Gebze Kocaeli Fatih State Hospital between2012- 2018 were retrospectively reviewed. Data such as age and sex of patients, procedure date and primarydisease (indication for PEG) along with complications following the procedure were assessed.Results: The series consisted from 52 male (40,63%) and 76 female (59,4%) patients totalling 128 patients.97 (75,8%)of them were inpatients and 31 (24.2%) of them were outpatients. 90 (92.8%) of the inpatientswere staying at intensive care unit and 7 (7.2%) of them were in neurology ward. Primary diagnosis was CVAin all of the patients with PEG. There was no major complications. And minor complications were woundinfection in 6 patients (4.69%) and leakage from PEG in 5 patients (3.91%). All of the patients benefited fromsemptomatic treatment.Conclusion: PEG is a simple, safe and effective enteral feeding technique with low complication rate whenaccomplished by an experienced surgical team. In appropriate patients, it’s a preferential technique for longterm enteral feeding.Key words: Enteral nutrition; Endoscopy; Gastrostomy; Technique; Complication

Kadı sicilleri ya da diğer bir ismiyle şer'iyye sicilleri Osmanlı iktisadi ve sosyal tarihi araştırmalarının en önemli kaynaklarından bir tanesidir. Çalışmada, Bursa kadı sicilleri temel kaynaklar olarak kullanılmış; bu kaynaklar üzerinden elde edilen veriler ile Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun en büyük şehirlerinden biri olan Bursa'nın 18. yüzyılın ilk yarısında sosyal ve iktisadi durumuna ilişkin bilgiler verilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu bağlamda nüfus, aile yapısı, miras, kölelik, suç ve ceza, para ve fiyatlar, tarım, hayvancılık, sanayi, ticaret, finans ve kredi, servet dağılımı ve vergiler gibi konular üzerinde durulmuştur. Elde edilen sonuçlar, Bursa ve diğer Osmanlı şehirleri ile ilgili yapılmış çalışmalarla karşılaştırılarak; Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun yüzyılın ilk yarısındaki durumuna dair Bursa örneği üzerinden bir değerlendirme yapılmıştır. Court registers or, in other words, şer'iyye registers are one of the most important sources of Ottoman economic and social history studies. In this study, Bursa court registers were used as the main sources, and with the data obtained from these sources, it was tried to give information about the social and economic situation of Bursa which is one of the biggest cities of the Ottoman Empire in the first half of the 18th century. In this context, topics such as population, family structure, heritage, slavery, crime and punishment, money and prices, agriculture, livestock, industry, trade, finance and credit, distribution of wealth and taxes were emphasized. The results obtained were compared with the studies on Bursa and other Ottoman cities and an evaluation was made about the situation of the Ottoman Empire on the basis of the Bursa example in the first half of the 18th century. 280

YÖK Tez No: 580008 Kentleşme ve sanayideki küresel artışla birlikte çevre kirliliği ve kirletici maddelerin çeşitliliği de artmaktadır. Çevre kirliliğine neden olan kirleticilerin en önemlilerinden biri de çok çeşitli endüstriyel faaliyetler sonucunda oluşan atıksulardır. Endüstriyel atıksular, uygun şekilde arıtılmadan alıcı ortamlara deşarj edilirlerse çevre ve canlılar üzerinde (ölümlere kadar ulaşan) toksik etkiler oluştururlar. Ağır metaller ise endüstriyel atıksuların içerisinde bulunan önemli kirleticilerdendir. Ağır metallerin; biyolojik olarak parçalanamamaları, birikim potansiyeline sahip olmaları ve oluşturdukları yüksek toksik etkileri nedeniyle arıtılmaları son derece önemlidir. Sucul ortamlarda bulunan ağır metallerin gideriminde yaygın olarak kimyasal çöktürme, elektrokimyasal teknikler, membran filtrasyonu, iyon değiştirme ve adsorbsiyon gibi metotlar kullanılmaktadır. Bu metotlardan adsorpsiyon yöntemi basitlik, hızlı giderim, yüksek verim, düşük maliyet ve en az ikincil kirlenme gibi özellikleri nedeniyle en etkili teknik olarak düşünülmektedir. Adsorpsiyon proseslerinde verimli ve düşük maliyetli adsorbanlar, adsorpsiyon teknolojilerinin gelişimi ve yaygın kullanımında hayati bir önem taşımaktadır. Bu nedenle alternatif düşük maliyetli adsorban malzemelerin özellikle de nanoparçacıkları kullanımına son yıllarda büyük bir ilgi duyulmaktadır. Nanoparçacıklar geniş yüzey alanı ve yüksek adsorpsiyon kapasitesi, doymamış yüzeyleri, basit uygulama ve basit üretim gibi özellikleri nedeniyle tercih edilmektedirler. Ayrıca, manyetik özellikleri olan nanoparçacıkların hem metallere olan hassasiyeti hem de sucul ortamlardan mıknatıslanma ile kolayca toparlanabilmeleri nedeniyle arıtma çalışmalarında yoğun olarak kullanılmalarına sebebiyet vermektedir. Bu çalışmada, endüstriyel atıksular ve sulardan manyetik nanoparçacıklarla ağır metal (bakır (II) ve nikel (II)) giderimi incelenmiştir. Bu amaçla manyetik özelliği olan Co0.1Zn0.9O nanoparçacığının sentezi ve karakterizasyonu yapılmış ve ağır metal olarak bakır (II) ve nikel (II) içeren sentetik atıksular oluşturulmuştur. Deneysel çalışmalar için bir tasarım yöntemi olan Response Surface Methodology (RSM) yöntemi Design Expert 11.0 programı ile kullanılmıştır. RSM yönteminde yer alan farklı tasarım yöntemleri için deney setleri oluşturularak elde edilen sonuçların verileri programa girilmiş ve tasarım modellerinin değerlendirilmesi yapılmıştır. Deneysel çalışmalar ve modelleme programı ile sulardan ağır metal (bakır (II) ve nikel (II)) giderimine adsorban (nanoparçacık) miktarının, temas süresinin, başlangıç metal konsantrasyonu ve pH'ın etkileri belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca, ilave deneyler yapılarak en uygun izoterm modeli ile kinetik model tespit edilmiştir. Bu çalışmada elde edilen sonuçlara göre bakır (II) giderimi için en uygun RSM tasarım modelinin MKT5-3 tekrarlı (Merkezi Kompozit Tasarım-MKT) model olduğu ve bakır (II) iyonlarının %80.29 oranında giderildiği belirlenmiştir. Bu modelde optimum deneysel koşullar olan adsorban dozajı, başlangıç metal konsantrasyonu, temas süresi, pH ve tutma kapasitesi için sırasıyla 2.94 g/L, 67.73 mg/L, 74.13 dk, 4.74 ve 18.66 mg/g değerleri bulunmuştur. Sulardan Co0.1Zn0.9O nanoparçacığı ile nikel gideriminde deneysel tasarım olarak BBT-5 tekrarlı (Box-Behnken Tasarımı-BBT) tasarım modeli uygulanmış ve elde edilen sonuçlara göre optimum deneysel koşulları giderim verimi %28.54, tutma kapasitesi 17.99 mg/g, adsorban dozajı, 3.46 g/L, başlangıç metal konsantrasyonu 153.87 mg/L, temas süresi 20.75 dk ve pH 3.20 olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu sonuçlar değerlendirildiğinde adsorban olarak kullanılan nanoparçacığın düşük giderim değeri nedeniyle sulardan nikel (II) giderimi için verimli olmadığı görülmüştür. Sulardan bakır (II) adsorpsiyonu için yapılan izoterm çalışmalarında en uygun modelin en yüksek R2 (0.898) değeri ile Freundlich izoterm modeli olduğu bulunmuştur. Adsorpsiyon kinetiğini belirlemek için ise hesaplanan parametrelere göre pseudo second order (ikinci derece) modelin daha uygun (R2 değeri 0.994) olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca, kinetik denklemlerinden teorik olarak elde edilen qe (tutma kapasitesi) değerleri ile deneysel olarak bulunan qe değeri karşılaştırıldığında pseudo second order qe değeri (18.93) ile deneysel qe (18.76) değerlerinin birbirine çok yakın olduğu görülmüştür. Environmental pollution and diversity of pollutants are also increased with the global increase of urbanization and industry. One of the most important pollutants causing environmental pollution is wastewater that is generated by a wide range of industrial activities. If the industrial wastewater is discharged to receiving environments without proper treatment, it creates toxic effects (reaching deaths) on the environment and living organisms. Heavy metals are important pollutants in industrial wastewater. Heavy metals removal is very important because of their non-biodegradability, accumulation potential and high toxic effects on living organism. Chemical precipitation, electrochemical techniques, membrane filtration, ion exchange and adsorption methods are commonly used for the removal of heavy metals in aquatic environments. Adsorption method is considered to be the most effective technique because of its simplicity, fast removal, high efficiency, low cost and minimal secondary contamination. More efficient and low-cost materials in adsorption processes are important for its commonly using and development of adsorption technologies. Therefore, there has been great interest in the use of alternative low-cost adsorbent materials, particularly nanoparticles, in recent years. Nanoparticles are selected because of their large surface area and high adsorption capacity, unsaturated surfaces, simple applications and simple productions. In addition, nanoparticles which have magnetic properties are used intensively in purification studies due to their sensitivity to metals and their ability to recover easily by magnetization from aquatic environments. In this study, removal of heavy metals (copper (II) and nickel (II)) from water were investigated by using magnetic nanoparticle (Co0.1Zn0.9O). To this aim, the synthesis and characterization of nanoparticle which has magnetic properties was made and synthetic wastewaters that are contain copper (II) and nickel (II) were formed. Response Surface Methodology (RSM), a design method for experimental studies, was used with the Design Expert 11.0 program. Experimental sets were created for different design methods in the RSM method. The data of the results were entered into the program and the design models were evaluated for optimum removal conditions. The effects of adsorbent (nanoparticle) dosage, contact time, initial metal concentration and pH on heavy metal (copper (II) and nickel (II)) removal from water were determined by the experimental studies and modelling program in this study. Also, additional experimental studies were conducted for adsorption isotherm model and kinetics. According to the obtaining results in this study, the most suitable RSM design model for copper (II) removal was CCD5-with 3 repeat (Central Composite Design-CCD) model and copper (II) ions were removed by 80.29%. In this model, the adsorbent dosage, initial metal concentration, contact time, pH and adsorption capacity were found to be 2.94 g/L, 67.73 mg/L, 74.13 min, 4.74 and 18.66 mg/g, respectively for the optimum experimental conditions. BBD-with 5 repeat (Box-Behnken Design -BBD) design model was applied as an experimental design model for nickel (II) removal using Co0.1Zn0.9O nanoparticles from water and according to the results, the removal efficiency was 28.54%, adsorption capacity was 17.99 mg/g, adsorbent dosage was 3.46 g/L, initial concentration was 153.87 mg/L, the contact time was 20.75 min and the pH was 3.20. When these results were evaluated, it was found that the nanoparticle used as adsorbent was not efficient for removing nickel (II) from water due to its low removal efficiency. In the isotherm studies for copper (II) adsorption from water, the most suitable model was found to be Freundlich isotherm model with the highest R2 (0.898) value. According to the parameters that were calculated to determine the adsorption kinetics, the pseudo second order model was found to be more appropriate (R2 value 0.994). In addition, where the qe values (adsorption capacity) that was obtained theoretically from kinetic equations were compared with the qe values that was found experimentally, it was seen that the pseudo second order qe value (18.93) and experimental qe (18.76) values were very close to each other.

Bu çalışmada, poli(4-vinil piridin) (p(4-VP)) süper gözeneklikriyojelleri serbest radikal polimerizasyon tekniği ile kriyojenik koşullardasentezlenmiştir ve hidroklorik asit ile muamele edilerek protonlanmıştır(p(4-VP)+Cl-). Hazırlanan kriyojeller, Fourier DönüşümlüKızılötesi Işımalı spektroskopisi (FT-IR), Termogravimetrik Analiz cihazı(TGA), Taramalı Elektron Mikroskobu (SEM) ve optik mikroskop ile karakterizeedilmişlerdir. P(4-VP)+Cl- kriyojellerine CoCl2'ninetanol çözeltisinden metal tuzu yüklenerek NaBH4 varlığındaindirgenerek iyonik sıvı (IL) kriyojeller içinde Co metal nanopartikül senteziyapılmıştır. Kriyojeller içindeki metal miktarları atomik absorpsiyonspektroskopisi (AAS) ile belirlenmiştir ve p(4-VP)+Cl--Cokriyojel kompozitinin 121,6±7,3 mg/g Co nanopartikülü içerdiği belirlenmiştir.Hazırlanan p(4-VP)+Cl--Co kompozit kriyojelleri 4-nitrofenol (4-NP), eosin Y (EY), ve metilen mavisi (MM) çözeltilerinin karışımlarınıaynı anda indirgeme ve bozunma reaksiyonlarında katalizör olarakkullanılmıştır. Buna göre, 4-NP/EY, 4-NP/MB ve 4-NP/EY/MB karışımlarındakiherbir molekül için p(4-VP)+Cl--Co kriyojel kompozitkatalizör varlığında %85’in üzerinde dönüşüm elde edilmiştir. Ayrıca, 4-NP, EYve MM bileşiklerinin çözeltilerinin karışımlarında p(4-VP)+Cl--Cokriyojel kompozit katalizörü kullanılarak indirgenme ve/ya bozunmareaksiyonları gerçekleştirilerek dönüşüm% ve bir mol katalizörün dakikadakatalizlediği molekülün mol sayısı (TOF) değerleri hesaplanmıştır., In this study, superporous poly(4-vinyl pyridine) (p(4-VP)) cryogelswere synthesized via free radical polymerization technique at cryogenicconditions and were protonated (p)4-VP)+)by the treated of hydrochloric acid solution. The prepared cryogels werecharacterized by using Fourier Transform Infrared Radiation (FT-IR)spectrometer, Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM), and optic microscope. Metal salt of CoCl2 from ethanolsolution was loaded into p(4-VP)+Cl- cryogels and reducedin the presence of NaBH4 to obtain Co metal nanoparticles withinionic liquid (IL) cryogels and the amount of Co nanoparticle within cryogelswas determined by using Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (AAS) and found as121.6±7.3 mg/g within p(4-VP)+Cl--Co cryogel composites.Furthermore, the prepared p(4-VP)+Cl--Co cryogelcomposites were used as a catalyst in reduction and degradation reaction of themixtures of 4-nitro phenol (4-NP), eosin Y (EY), and methylene blue (MB)solutions simultaneously. Accordingly, for the each components of 4-NP/EY,4-NP/MB and 4-NP/EY/MB mixtures over 85% conversion obtained in the presence ofp(4-VP)+Cl--Co cryogel composite catalyst. It was alsocalculated the % conversion and the numbers of moles of molecules catalyzed by onemole of catalyst (TOF) for the catalytic reduction and/or degradation of eachone of the components 4-NP, EY and MM catalyzed by of p(4-VP)+Cl--Cocryogel composite catalyst.

Bu tez çalışması kapsamında ayırma amaçlı anyonik ve katyonik mikrojeller içeren poli(akrilamid) (p(AAm)) ve poli(2-hidroksi etil metakrilat) (p(HEMA)) iç içe geçmiş polimerik ağ yapılı (IPN) kriyojeller kriyopolimerizasyon yöntemi ile hazırlanmıştır. Anyonik yapılı poli(vinil fosfonik asit) (p(VPA)) ve poli(2-akrilamido-2-metil-1-propansülfonik asit) (p(AMPS)) mikrojelleri ve katyonik yapılı poli(3-akril amido propil trimetil amonyum klorür) (p(APTMACl)) ve polietilenimin (PEI) mikrojelleri mikroemülsiyon yöntemi ile hazırlanarak, farklı miktarlarda kriyojeller hazırlamak için kullanılan karışımların içerisine eklenlerek kriyopolimerizasyonları gerçekleştirilmiştir. Anyonik ve katyonik yapılı mikrojellerin zeta potansiyel değerleri p(VPA), p(AMPS), p(APTMACl) ve PEI mikrojelleri için sırasıyla -58,93±0,98, -36,55±1,24, 47,18±1,30 ve 11,39±1,21 mV olarak ölçülmüştür. Hazırlanan mikrojeller ve kriyojellerin morfolojik karakterizasyonu optik mikroskop ve taramalı elektron mikroskop (SEM) görüntüleri ile belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca, p(AAm) ve p(HEMA) esaslı mikrojel içermeyen kriyojellerin ve anyonik/katyonik mikrojeller içeren IPN kriyojellerin yapısal karakterizasyonları Fourier dönüşümlü kızılötesi ışımalı spektroskopi (FT-IR) ve termogravimetrik analiz (TGA) ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Anyonik ve katyonik mikrojeller içeren p(AAm) ve p(HEMA) IPN kriyojelleri floresan sodyum tuzu (FSS) gibi anyonik ve metilen mavisi (MM) gibi katyonik boyaların, parakuat (PK) ve nemathorin (NT) gibi çeşitli pestisitlerin sulu ortamlardan uzaklaştırılması amacıyla potansiyel çevre uygulamalarında kullanılmıştır. Katyonik yapılı bir boya olan MM ve katyonik yapılı bir pestisit olan PK, sulu çözelti ortamından en fazla p(HEMA)/p(VPA)-%20 IPN kriyojelleri kullanılarak sırasıyla 233,5±15,2 mg/g ve 36,5±2,3 mg/g absorplanmıştır. Anyonik yapılı FSS boyasını ve NT pestisitini ise 10,8±1,2 mg/g ve 41,8±2,1 mg/g absorpsiyon miktarları ile en fazla p(HEMA)/PEI-%10 IPN kriyojelleri absorbe etmiştir. Boya ve pestisitlerin farklı çözeltileri pH'larda, çeşitli tuz konsantrasyonlarında, deniz suyu, çeşme suyu ve saf su gibi çeşitli sulu ortamlarda hazırlanarak bu ortamların IPN kriyojellerinin absopsiyon kapasitelerine etkileri incelenmiştir. Ayrıca, p(HEMA) kriyojelleri ve p(HEMA)/p(VPA)-%20 IPN kriyojelleri için üç katyonik boya ve bir katyonik yapılı pestisit çözeltileri karıştırılarak yarışmalı adsorpsiyon kapasiteleri belirlenmiştir. Bu karışım içerisinden p(HEMA) kriyojelleri kullanılarak yapılan absorpsiyon çalışmalarında MM ve PK için dağılma katsayıları sırasıyla 10,8±1,2 ve 75,0±37,76 ml/g; p(HEMA)/p(VPA)-%20 IPN kriyojelleri ile yapılan absorpsiyon çalışmalarında ise MM ve PK için dağılma katsayıları sırasıyla 1450,5±199,63 ve 834,1±143,12 ml/g olarak hesaplanmıştır. With the scope of this thesis study, interpenetrating polymeric network structure (IPN) cryogels of poly(acrylamide) (p(AAm)) and poly(2-hyroxy ethyl methacrylate) (p(HEMA)) containing anionic and cationic microgels were prepared with the cryopolymerization method for separation purposes. Anionic-structure poly(vinylphosphonic acid) (p(VPA)) and poly(2-acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propanesulfonic acid) (p(AMPS)) microgels and cationic-structure poly(3-acrylamidopropyl trimethylammonium chloride) (p(APTMACI)) and polyethylenimine (PEI) microgels were prepared with the microemulsion method. Cryogels were prepared by adding different amounts of these into the mixture and performing cryopolymerization. The zeta potential of anionic and cationic microgels were measured as 58.93±0.98, -36.55±1.24, 47.18±1.30 and 11.39±1.21 mV for p(VPA), p(AMPS), p(APTMACl) and PEI, respectively. The morphologic characterization of the prepared microgels and cryogels was determined with optical microscope and scanning electron microscope (SEM) images. Additionally, p(AAm) and p(HEMA) cryogels not containing microgels and IPN cryogels containing anionic/cationic microgels had structural characterization completed with Fourier transform infrared radiation spectroscopy (FT-IR) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). P(AAm) and p(HEMA) IPN cryogels containing anionic and cationic microgels were used for potential environmental applications such as removing anionic dyes, like fluorescent sodium salt (FSS), and cationic dyes, like methylene blue (MB), and a variety of pesticides like paraquat (PQ) and nemathorin (NT) from aqueous environments. The cationic dye of MB and pesticide with cationic structure PQ were absorbed most from aqueous environments using p(HEMA)/p(VPA)-20% IPN cryogels with absorption of 233.5±15.2 mg/g and 36.5±2.3 mg/g. Anionic-structure FSS dye and NT pesticide were absorbed most by p(HEMA)/PEI-10% IPN cryogels with absorption of 10.8±1.2 mg/g and 41.8±2.1 mg/g, respectively. Dye and pesticide solutions with different pH, a variety of salt concentrations, and a variety of aqueous environments like seawater, tap water and distilled water were prepared to investigate the effect of these environments on absorption capacities of IPN cryogels. Additionally, the competitive adsorption capacities of p(HEMA) cryogels and p(HEMA)/p(VPA)-20% IPN cryogels were determined by mixing the three cationic stains and one cationic pesticide solution. For this mixture, in absorption studies using p(HEMA) cryogels MB and PQ had diffusion coefficients of 10.8±1.2 and 75.0±37.76 ml/g, respectively. In absorption studies using p(HEMA)/p(VPA)- 20% IPN cryogels, the diffusion coefficients for MB and PQ were calculated as 1450.5±199.63 and 834.1±143.12 ml/g, respectively. 100

Bu çalışmada insan embriyonik böbrek hücre hattında (HEK 293) amiloid beta ile indüklenen sitotoksisite üzerine Hsp70 şaperonunun koruyucu rolünün incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Toksisite oluşturmak için HEK 293 hücrelerine 24 saat süreyle 5-10 mikromolar konsantrasyonlarında amiloid beta uygulanmıştır. Hem normal hem de amiloid beta ile muamele edilmiş HEK 293 hücrelerine 2 saat süreyle 2 mikrogram/ml konsantrasyonunda Hsp70 uygulanmıştır. Amiloid betanın hücre canlılığına etkisi MTT yöntemi ile ölçülmüştür. Oksidatif hasar, lipid hidroperoksidasyon (LPO) düzeyleri ölçülerek belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca Hsp70'in koruyucu etkisinin araştırılması için glutatyon (GSH) düzeyleri, katalaz (CAT) ve süperoksit dismutaz (SOD) enzim aktiviteleri kolorimetrik ELISA (enzim bağlı immün assay) kitleri aracılığıyla ölçülmüştür. Sonuçlar istatistiksel olarak analiz edilmiştir. Deney sonuçlarına göre çalışmada amiloid beta uygulamasının lipid peroksidasyonuna yol açarak hücre toksisitesini indüklediği gözlenmiştir. Bu gruplarda SOD, CAT enzim aktivitelerinde azalma olduğu belirlenmiştir. Glutatyon düzeylerinde azalma olmadığı dikkati çekmiştir. Hsp70'in sitotoksisiteye karşı etkisi değerlendirildiğinde amiloid betanın sebep olduğu lipid peroksidasyonunu azaltamadığı ancak uygulanan amiloid dozuna bağlı olarak SOD ve CAT enzim aktivitelerinde ve GSH düzeylerinde artışa sebep olduğu gözlenmiştir. Ancak bu artış istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmamıştır. Elde edilen verilere göre; ekzojen Hsp70 uygulamasının HEK 293 hücrelerinde amiloid betanın sebep olduğu sitotoksisite üzerine kısmen koruyucu etkisinin olduğu ifade edilebilir. The aim of this study is to investigate the protective effects of Hsp70 chaperone on the amyloid beta induced toxicity in the human embryonic kidney cell line (HEK 293) cells. In order to induce toxicity in the HEK 293 cell line, 5-10 micromolar concentration of amyloid beta was applied for 24 hours. Afterwards, both normal and amyloid beta treated cells were treated with 2 microgram/ml concentration of Hsp70 for 2 hours. The effect of amyloid beta on cell viability was evaluated by MTT assay. Oxidative damage was assessed by measuring lipid hydroperoxide (LPO) levels. Furthermore, glutathione (GSH) levels, catalase (CAT) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) enzyme activities were measured by colorimetric ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) kits, in order to understand the protective effect of Hsp70. The results were analyzed using statistical methods. The experimental results of this study indicate that amyloid beta application causes lipid peroxidation and induces cell toxicity. In these groups, there was a reduction of SOD and CAT enzyme activities. However, no reduction in glutathione levels were found. Evaluating of the effects of Hsp70 against cytotoxicity, it was observed that Hsp70 could not reduce the lipid peroxidation induced by amyloid beta. Hsp70 caused an increase in SOD and CAT enzyme activities and GSH levels depending on the dose of amyloid beta, however, no significant statistical difference could be found. Experimental results suggest that exogenous Hsp70 application to HEK 293 cells has a partial protective effect against the amyloid beta induced cytotoxicity in the HEK 293 cells. 58

Poly( 2-hydroxy ethyl methacrylate) p(HEMA), poly( acrylic acid) p(AAc), poly(3-sulfopropyl methacrylate) p(SPM), and poly(4-vinylpyridine) p(4-VP) cryogels from various monomers containing functional groups such as COOH, SO3H, and OH, and) N monomer were synthesized under cryogenic conditions via free radical polymerization technique. The synthesized cryogels were used as templates for metal nanoparticle synthesis using Co and Ni, and the prepared composite cryogels were utilized in hydrogen (H-2) generation from the hydrolysis reaction of NaBH4. It was found that the hydrolysis reaction of NaBH4 in seawater is much faster than in DI water when using the p(SPM)-Co catalyst system. Parameters such as water and metal types for different cryogels, concentration of NaBH4, amount of metal catalyst, and temperature were investigated. The hydrogen generation rate (HGR) and turnover frequency (TOF) values were also investigated for temperature dependency. It was found that as the temperature increased from 30 to 70 degrees C, the HGR and TOF increased from 1288.0 +/- 61.2 (ml H-2) (g of metal min)(-1) and 3.1 +/- 0.1 mol H-2 (mol metal min)(-1) to 7707.8 +/- 179.4 (ml H-2) (g of metal min)(-1), and 16.1 +/- 0.4 mol H-2 (mol metal min)(-1), respectively. The activation energy, enthalpy, and entropy were 31.1 kJ (mol K)(-1), 27.7 kJ (mol K)(-1), and 196.4J (molK)(-1), respectively, for NaBH4 hydrolysis catalyzed in seawater by p(SPM)-Co composite system. Dyke-Davidoff-Masson Sendrom’u (DDMS), ilk olarak Dyke ve arkadaşları tarafından bildirilmiş serebral hemiatrofi, kontralateral hemiparezi ve epilepsi ile karakterize klinik bir antitedir. İlk kez 1933 yılında tanımlanan hastalık, konjenital ve kazanılmış birçok nedene bağlı olarak ortaya çıkabilmektedir. Bu olgu bildirisinde, 10 yaşında, 8 yıl önce bir kez febril konvülsiyon atağı geçirmiş DDMS’lu kız çocuğu tartışılmıştır.

A 76-year-old woman presented with difficulty in speech and weakness on right arm and leg. Her medical history was remarkable only for uncontrolled hypertension for a long period. Dysarthria, right central facial paralysis, right hemiparesis and hypoactive deep tendon reflexes were noticed on neurological examination. Moderate degree aortic insufficiency with aortic diastolic reverse flow was detected on transthoracic echocardiography. Thrombosed aortic aneurysm on descending thoracic aorta, and an acute hemorrhagic infarction in the distribution of the left middle cerebral artery were depicted on thorax, and brain computed tomography scans, respectively. Cerebrovascular event was medically managed and whereas conservative management was offered for thrombosed descending thoracic aorta aneurysm.

This property brings many drawbacks for general use and restrict their application areas as well as makes them beneficial in protective applications. Liquid armor is the most widely studied field of shear thickening fluids (STFs). The goal of this study is to produce STFs and measure their rheological behavior as well as preparing STF/aramid fabric composites and testing their mechanical properties in terms of stab, flexibility and ballistic tests.for liquid armor applications. For this purpose, fumed silica and polyethylene glycol (PEG) based dispersions were prepared by sonochemical method. The effect of filler concentration and molecular weight of continuous phase was observed by using 5-30 wt% fumed silica and PEGs having 200, 300, 400 and 600 g/mole molecular weight, respectively. Also, microstructural and thermal characterization of raw materials and STFs were performed. According to the collected rheological data, viscosity increment of STFs is increased with concentration. The maximum available viscosity was obtained for STF30-PEG 200 as 1622 Pa.s and the lowest critical shear rate was measured for STF30-PEG 300 as 11.1 s-1. Moreover, it was found that the viscous property dominates the elastic property of STFs with greater viscous modulus (G†) values than the elastic (G’) modulus. Both moduli values were also reflected the thickening property with varying angular frequency and strain %. Stab and ballistic tests showed that STF impregnation enhances the resistance property of neat fabrics. The maximum load was supported by aramid fabric/STF30-PEG200 composite as 137 N whereas the highest stiffness was measured as 9o for aramid fabric/STF30-PEG 600 composite. Also, in ballistic tests, the highest result was obtained as 623m/s for the sample which composed of a configuration of STF impregnated aramid and Ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fabrics with neat polyethylene (PE) laminae.
