Augmented reality has become an important educational technology in teaching-learning. Technology embedded learning provides an enhanced perception of the existing material. Therefore, this study presents a systematic literature review of the scope of AR in educational settings by reviewing 72 research articles published in reputed journals between the year 2010 to 2020. The study aims to highlight the present scenario of AR technology in the education sector in terms of its benefits, applications across the major education disciplines, geographical scope, tools and technologies, and capabilities of AR in the learning space. The findings reflect positive outcomes like improved academic performance, student motivation, engagement, effectiveness, positive attitude towards technology-driven learning. The analysis shows that the applications of AR in various disciplines vary according to technological involvement and need in the discipline. Though the technology is at its young and growing stage, it can immensely benefit the teaching-learning space.

Thrips tabaci is a polyphagous pest that destroys agricultural and other economically significant crop plants. T. tabaci scrapes its mouth parts on fragile crop sections and feeds on flowing sap, resulting in white/brown spots/stricks on leaves/flowers and fruits, affecting plant development and fruit quality. Considering the above facts experiments were conducted to study the population dynamics of T. tabaci pests that infest chilly, bottle gourd, and cucumber. The sessional incidence of thrips on chilly, bottle gourd, and cucumber were commenced in the second week of August and continued until the fourth week of November. The incidence was outbreak in the second and third weeks of September. Maximum outbreak of thrips population was noticed in third, fourth week of September and first and second week of October. Foliar application of G3 mixture, Azadirachta indica oil Spray, Calotropis procera leaf extract Nicotiana tabucum extract, Tagetes erecta leaf extract, and Imidacloprid 17.8% SL showed reduction in insect outbreak. Maximum pest population was observed in control condition (no treatment given), followed by CLE (Calotropis procera leaf extract), TLE (Tagetes erecta leaf extract), G3M (G3 Mixture) and AIO (Azadirachta indica oil Spray). There was a steady decline in the population in NS (Nicotiana tabucum extract) and finally Imida (Imidacloprid 17.8% SL) had minimal population outbreaks. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The present work studied the effects of alkali pretreatment on the cellulosic biomass of rice straw. The improvement in the cellulose content and reduction in the lignin and hemicellulose percentage was observed with alkali pretreatment. Fourier transformation infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis confirm the modification in the surface structure of alkali rice straw. Further, the study investigated the potential of different types of seed sludge as inoculum sources for dark fermentative biohydrogen production. In comparison to other sludge samples (beverage industry, food industry, and sewage treatment plant sludge), the mixed culture of sewage treatment plant sludge had the highest cumulative volume of biohydrogen (90.52 mL), as well as the highest hydrogen production yield (0.75 moleH2/mole) with the substrate utilization of 86.72%.
