[Objective] The Yellow River Basin is an important ecological protection barrier in China, but its ecological environment is fragile. Studying the relationship between vegetation changes and water production services in the Yellow River Basin provides guarantees for its ecological construction and high-quality development. [Methods] Based on NDVI data and InVEST model, trend analysis and correlation analysis methods were used to combine vegetation change with water supply services. The temporal and spatial characteristics of NDVI and water production services in the Yellow River Basin from 2001 to 2020 were analyzed, and the trend changes and interrelationships between NDVI and water production services were studied. [Results] (1) The NDVI and water production depth of the Yellow River basin showed an increasing trend, with the growth rate of 0.05/10 a and 18.215 mm/10 a respectively. The NDVI was mainly showing a significant increase, while the water production depth was mainly showing an insignificant increase. In addition, the water production in the basin was also continuously increasing. Public administration education is traditionally known for its emphasis on interaction, discussion and experiential learning, which require effective in-person instructions. With COVID-19 pushing many programmes across the globe to be delivered online rather than in person, how this shift has affected the student experience in public administration programmes has been a pertinent and important consideration. This paper addresses the question through two surveys of 147 students in total, at a graduate-level public policy school in Singapore. Two distinctive waves of data collection allow us to capture a nuanced picture of student perceptions both when online teaching was introduced as an emergency response and when it was planned as a deliberate strategy later on. Our findings suggest that students consistently reported a decline in participation and interaction in an online setting, compared with a face-to-face setting. Our study fills a critical gap in the literature related to online public administration education in Asia, while the immediate constraints it highlights and lessons it offers on maintaining a highly interactive and engaging public administration education are likely to apply for educators elsewhere both during and beyond the COVID-19 era.

Objective To investigate the “Precision Treatment for Oncology” course, which is offered by Peking Union Medical College.The course is aiming for collecting students′ opinions and suggestions to optimize the course setting and improve the teaching quality. Methods This investigation collected data by questionnaire survey and interviewing from Dec.2021 to Feb.2022. The questionnaire data and interview data were analysed. Results Thirty-six quantitative questionnaires and five qualitative questionnaires were included. Improving professional knowledge and personal interests were two main reasons for students to choose courses, which existed statistical differences on different aspects of course evaluation. The overall score evaluated by medical students was 9.22 and 94.4% of the students thought the course achieved the desired goal. The scores of teachers′ teaching attitude, frontier and practicality of course content were 9.81, 9.08 and 8.86 points respectively. The students hoped to increase the case analysis practice and thematic discussion activities to enrich the teaching form. Conclusions This elective course for graduate is recognized and accepted by students. More efforts are needed in future to optimize curriculum settings, innovate teaching methods, improve teaching quality and explore new pathways for medical graduate education matching the needs of students.

Making online education effective and engaging has been a policy priority in the higher education (HE) sector since the COVID-19 pandemic arose in 2020. Based on an online survey and qualitative interviews, we examine experiences of HE students and teachers in Hong Kong, and provide recommendations that can enable countries/economies to leverage on the good practices of online education to rejuvenate HE in the post-COVID era. We find a need for greater institutional support beyond its current availability. Students' perception of online education is less optimistic than what such labeling as "digital natives" suggests. However, with time, online education is being viewed more positively. Teachers find their online education workload to be higher. More female teachers cite difficulties in balancing work and life, while older teachers report more technological difficulties. Since many respondents come from public affairs programs, which emphasize interaction in the classroom, the findings suggest that a rethinking of pedagogical strategies of public affairs education is required.

Achieving positionally selective distal C–H functionalization remains a fundamental and longstanding challenge in the field of C–H activation. The directing template strategy has emerged as a promising solution to this problem. Herein, we disclose the development of a novel non-aromatic meta-selective directing template, which showed eminent reactivity and site-selectivity in palladium-catalyzed remote meta-C–H olefination, deuteration and acetoxylation of benzyl alcohols. Establishing a reliable control of perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) is challenging but essential for the full utilization of rare‐earth iron garnets in spintronic devices. In this study, a feasible approach to enhance the PMA of ferrimagnetic thulium iron garnet (TmIG) films is presented. This approach involves precise adjustments in cation stoichiometry and epitaxial strain state. By fine‐tuning the pre‐ablation process and oxygen partial pressure during pulsed laser deposition, a series of high‐quality TmIG films can grow with variable cation stoichiometry, i.e., the Tm/Fe molar ratio. The finding reveals that cation stoichiometry plays a crucial role in determining the magnetic properties of the TmIG films. Particularly, the stoichiometric TmIG film has the strongest PMA due to the maximized magnetostriction coefficient. Combining this stoichiometry optimization and strain engineering, an unprecedented PMA strength of ≈30 kJ m−3 for TmIG is achieved. This achievement demonstrates a simple and effective method for harnessing the magnetic properties of rare‐earth iron garnet films, paving the way for their advanced applications in next‐generation spintronic devices.
