The study of Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) by Direct ink writing (DIW) has attracted much attention due to the convenience and effectiveness of 3D printing technology. However, the limited printing precision of DIW has heavily restricted its applications as the electromagnetic performance is highly sensitive to it, especially the precision at the microscale. Herein, the ultra-high printing precision of FSS was achieved through DIW by the uniformly dispersed graphene sheets to deeply modify the rheological behavior and the steric hindrance effect. Thus, the highly precision of the printed filament width as thin as 67 μm with a space of only 42 μm were achieved, which is difficult for conventional DIW, and no structural distortion is found after 3D printing, no matter it was 2D printed on a flat surface or the sharply skewed hook face, or even 3D printed to architectural structures. According to the highly improved precision, the electromagnetic performance matching between the designed model and the printed physical FSS device was perfectly achieved, reducing the center frequency error less than 0.3 GHz, and the transmission coefficient error less than 0.046. Our work promises an effective and easy preparation of high-quality FSS from the aid of graphene.

A method for determination of 9 isoflavones in Puerariae Lobatae Radix was established and the accuracy and feasibility of the method were verified. The relative correction factors of eight isoflavonoids,3'-hydroxy puerarin,puerarinapioside,3'-methoxy puerarin,puerarin 6″-O-xyloside,daidzin,genistin,formononetin and daidzein were determined by HPLC method with puerarin as the internal standard. The contents of 9 isoflavonoids in 11 batches of samples were determined by external standard method and QAMS.The accuracy and feasibility of the methods were evaluated by comparison of the quantitative results between external standard method and QAMS. The reproducibility of the relative correction factors was good under different experimental conditions,and there was no significant difference between the external standard method of the 9 compounds and the content of QAMS method. The results showed that using puerarin as an internal standard to simultaneously determine the 8 isoflavonoids mentioned above is accurate and feasible. Thus,it can be used as quality control of Puerariae Lobatae Radix.

Red leaf lettuce (Lactuca sativaL.) is popular due to its high anthocyanin content, but poor leaf coloring often occurs under low light intensity. In order to reveal the mechanisms of anthocyanins affected by light intensity, we compared the transcriptome ofL. sativaL. var.capitataunder light intensities of 40 and 100 μmol m−2s−1. A total of 62,111 unigenes were de novo assembled with an N50 of 1,681 bp, and 48,435 unigenes were functionally annotated in public databases. A total of 3,899 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were detected, of which 1,377 unigenes were up-regulated and 2,552 unigenes were down-regulated in the high light samples. By Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes enrichment analysis, the DEGs were significantly enriched in 14 pathways. Using gene annotation and phylogenetic analysis, we identified seven anthocyanin structural genes, includingCHS,CHI,F3H,F3′H,DFR,ANS, and3GT, and two anthocyanin transport genes,GSTandMATE. In terms of anthocyanin regulatory genes, five MYBs and one bHLH gene were identified. AnHY5gene was discovered, which may respond to light-signaling and regulate anthocyanin structural genes. These genes showed a log2FC of 2.7–9.0 under high irradiance, and were validated using quantitative real-time-PCR. In conclusion, our results indicated transcriptome variance in red leaf lettuce under low and high light intensity, and observed a anthocyanin biosynthesis and regulation pattern. The data should further help to unravel the molecular mechanisms of anthocyanins influenced by light intensity.

Rice root proteomics research identified to a new remorin1 protein,named OsREM1,which significantly increased (approximately 1.7-fold) compared with control under salt stress by Two-dimensional electrophoresis. It is found that the protein molecular weight is 29 kD, isoelectric point is 4.54. The bioinformatics analysis showed that: (1) The protein contains 195 amino acids, whose theoretical molecular weight is 21.3 kD, whose theoretical isoelectric point is 5.06. There are some differences with the experimental results, which may be the result of post-translational modification, such as glycosylation, phosphorylation; (2) The different crop remorin protein sequence alignment analysis found that the same rate of the amino acids is more than 50%, indicated that remorins are highly conserved protein; (3) Phylogenetic analysis showed OsREM1 had a low sequence identity with potao and tomato REM1, which is the agreement with traditional classification.

On-site inspection of nuclear power plants is an important operation and maintenance means to ensure the safety, reliability and economic of the operation of the units. Due to the complexity of the scene, generally, staff required to execute the inspection directly and cannot rely on automated equipment. The nuclear site exist a variety of risk factors, like other industrial sites, and also some other adverse environmental factors like radiation and other unavoidable ones, the overall personnel risk is proportional to the residence time and the complexity of the work. The use of mobile device combined with specially designed functions to assist the on-site inspections of nuclear power has been proposed in this paper which can greatly optimize the long time-consuming process such as positioning the inspection point, so as to reduce personnel risk and radiation dose. The mobile equipment can also assist the results of on-site multimedia recording, quick analysis, and help to carry out the preliminary issue cause determination. The on-site inspection assistance system developed based on this method has been successfully applied in many nuclear power plants and played an important role.

According to the requirement of the nuclear power plant ageing management, combined with the nuclear safety guide HAD103/12 “nuclear power plant ageing management" released by NNSA (national nuclear safety administration), this paper introduces the applicable to multiple power plant equipment ageing and life management of the database design requirements, the development process, general structure, composition and function, application scope, maintenance and safety related content.

In this paper, an activator protein was isolated and identified from crude protein of Botrytis Spp which was separated from the soil of the wheat field with the method of mycelium recycling, breaking and centrifuging,etc. The activator protein appeared a single band on SDS-PAGE whose molecular weight was about 42kD. At the same time, it had a preliminary activity test and investigated on this activator protein. This study indicated that this activator protein is able to promote wheat germination after the deal with it, especially when the density is 3μg/mL, the seed germination is the best. So it is proved that the plant activator protein has really the biological function of improving the wheat germination.

High temperature was an restrictive factor for tree peony growth and distribution in the world. In this study, we identified a heat shock transcriptor PsHsfB1 from our tree peony gene database. Further analysis revealed that the PsHsfB1 was sequence conserved and closely to Hsfs in others plant species. Gene Ontology annotation revealed that the PsHsfB1 was correlated with theromotolorance of tree peony.

Xindao-18(Oryza sativa L. subsp. japonica Kato) were irratiated with a low-energy ion-beam, the growth form were observed and transcriptome of samples were sequenced by Illumina HiSeq2000 platform. The different expression genes were identified from transcriptomes control and treated samples. Finally, the coexpression of different gene expression were construce and seventy DEGs were annotated as transcription factor (TF). Among them, ten transcripts have the higher network density, and two genes, LOC_Os06g15330 and LOC_Os03g51970, had a still higher network density while elevate PCC paramater, which indicated that the indentified coexpression transcriptors may play important role in response to N+ ion beam treation.

Anthocyanin mainly responsible for flowers color in many plant species, it also accumulated in response to lots of environmental stress to reduce the damage to plant cell. Anthocyanin synthesis (ANS) protein is an important synthetase participated in anthocyanin biosynthetic pathway. In this study, we isolated the PsANS gene from transcriptome database built by our previous study. The PsANS gene contain an 1050bp open reading frame encoding 349 amino acid, phylogenetic analysis revealed that PsANS was segrated into a group with ANS from others plant species. Secondary and thri-dimension structure prediction also revealed that it may have similar function with ANS in others plant species. The identified PsANS gene would be helpful for further research in flower color modification and resistance breeding.

Heat shock proteins (Hsp) were usually regarded as chaperones and play important role in plant stress tolerance. The expression of Hsps would be inducted when plant encounter lots of environmental stressors. Lactuca sativa was an important leaf vegetable in the world, but thermol stress seriously restricted its production. In this study, we isolated the Hsp70 members from Lactuca sativa database, a total of 5 Hsp70 members with completed open reading frame (ORF) were selected and further analysized. Results showed that the 5 LsHsp70 members were closely to Hsp70s in Arabidopsis, which indicated that the identified Hsp70 may responsible for thermotolerance in Lactuca sativa. The 5 new Hsp70s would be used as candidated genes for improving the tolerance trait of Lactuca sativa and others plants.

This first step of ageing management in nuclear power plant is to determine the objectives and their priorities. The characteristics of the objectives are complex and highly nonlinear coupling. A fuzzy logic based screening and grading method have been developed in this research for the first time which combined the genetic ageing lessons learned and field expert experience to resolve the problem. The method have been approved of highly applicability and applied to ageing management in multiple nuclear power plants.

Anthocyanins have important biological functions, it can help plants resist diseases invasion and pest attack. In this study, we got Rosea1-transformed snapdragon by Agrobacterium-mediated method. Anthocyanins content in the transgenic snapdragon was significantly elevated. Compared with wild-type plant, the snapdragon with anthocyanins accumulation in plant effectively reduced aphid attack in farmland. Similarly, Over-expression of Rosea1 in heterologous plant tobacco also lead to anthocyanins synthesis and the transgenic tobacco showed resistance to aphids. Therefore, improving the content of anthocyanins in plants using genetic engineering technology is a useful measure for plant protection.

The pigmented cells in defined region of a petal constitute the petal spots. Petal spots attract pollinators and are found in many angiosperm families. Several cultivars of tree peony contain a single red or purple spot at the base of petal that makes the flower more attractive for the ornamental market. So far, the understanding of the molecular mechanism of spot formation is inadequate. In this study, we sequenced the transcriptome of the purple spot and the white non-spot of tree peony flower. We assembled and annotated 67,892 unigenes. Comparative analyses of the two transcriptomes showed 1,573 differentially expressed genes (DEGs), among which 933 were up-regulated, and 640 were down-regulated in the purple spot. Subsequently, we examined four anthocyanin structural genes, including PsCHS, PsF3’H, PsDFR and PsANS, which expressed at a significantly higher level in the purple spot than in the white non-spot. We further validated the digital expression data using quantitative real-time PCR. Our result uncovered transcriptome variance between the spot and non-spot of tree peony flower, and revealed that the co-expression of four anthocyanin structural genes was responsible for spot pigment in tree peony. The data will further help to unravel the genetic mechanism of peony flower spot formation.

BackgroundThe chloroplast (cp) genome is useful in plant systematics, genetic diversity analysis, molecular identification and divergence dating. The genusGentianacontains 362 species, but there are only two valuable complete cp genomes. The purpose of this study is to report the characterization of complete cp genome ofG. lawrenceivar.farreri, which is endemic to the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau (QTP).MethodsUsing high throughput sequencing technology, we got the complete nucleotide sequence of theG. lawrenceivar.farrericp genome. The comparison analysis including genome difference and gene divergence was performed with its congeneric speciesG. straminea. The simple sequence repeats (SSRs) and phylogenetics were studied as well.ResultsThe cp genome ofG. lawrenceivar.farreriis a circular molecule of 138,750 bp, containing a pair of 24,653 bp inverted repeats which are separated by small and large single-copy regions of 11,365 and 78,082 bp, respectively. The cp genome contains 130 known genes, including 85 protein coding genes (PCGs), eight ribosomal RNA genes and 37 tRNA genes. Comparative analyses indicated thatG. lawrenceivar.farreriis 10,241 bp shorter than its congeneric speciesG. straminea.Four large gaps were detected that are responsible for 85% of the total sequence loss. Further detailed analyses revealed that 10 PCGs were included in the four gaps that encode nine NADH dehydrogenase subunits. The cp gene content, order and orientation are similar to those of its congeneric species, but with some variation among the PCGs. Three genes,ndhB,ndhFandclpP, have high nonsynonymous to synonymous values. There are 34 SSRs in theG. lawrenceivar.farrericp genome, of which 25 are mononucleotide repeats: no dinucleotide repeats were detected. Comparison with theG. stramineacp genome indicated that five SSRs have length polymorphisms and 23 SSRs are species-specific. The phylogenetic analysis of 48 PCGs from 12 Gentianales taxa cp genomes clearly identified three clades, which indicated the potential of cp genomes in phylogenetics.DiscussionThe “missing” sequence ofG. lawrenceivar.farrerimainly consistent ofndhgenes which could be dispensable under chilling-stressed conditions in the QTP. The complete cp genome sequence ofG. lawrenceivar.farreriprovides intragenic information that will contribute to genetic and phylogenetic research in the Gentianaceae.

In the present work, the spatial distributions of OH radicals and O atoms were studied in argon hollowneedle-plate discharge in ambient air. A 3 cm long plasma torch was generated in the discharge. The optical emission spectrum from 300 to 800 nm was collected. Besides Ar I lines and N2 second positive band system, OH emission band around 309 nm, O line at 777.4 nm and weaker H line were found in the optical emission spectrum. Because OH radicals and O atoms play an important role in material surface modification, the relative intensities of the OH radicals band (around 309 nm) and O atom line (777.4 nm) were analyzed. The results show that the number of OH radicals decreases rapidly and the number of O atoms follows a rule of increasing firstly and then decreasing from are root to arc tip.

Mg-doped AlxGa1-xN epilayers were grown on AlN/sapphire templates by metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) using an indium-assisted growth method. At room temperature, the resistivity of Mg-doped Al0.43Ga0.57N epilayer grown under indium (In) ambient is of the order of 104 Ω-cm, while the resistivity of Mg-doped Al 0.43Ga0.57N grown without In assistance is of the order of 106 Ω-cm. The ultraviolet light-emitting diodes (UV-LEDs) using the In-assisted Mg-doped Al0.43Ga0.57N as the p-type layers were fabricated to verify the function of indium ambient. It is found that there are a lower turn-on voltage and a lower diode series resistance in the UV-LEDs fabricated with p-type Al0.43Ga0.57N layers grown under In-ambient.
