This study attempts to illustrate the process of reconstructing adaptive self-identity by tracking the development of imagery in Mr. Z's dreams and sandtrays.The authors adopted amplification and Narrative Identity Process Analysis methods, and developed an Imagery NPCS tool to analyze the farming images in therapy sessions.It provided insights into Chinese culture from an applied, non-Western lens on identity theory. The subject of the study was a Chinese man who had lost his social identity due to stressful events, the results of which were reflected in the interplay between his personal narrative related to farming images and their cultural narrative framework.The authors propose a practical mode of developing narrative identity based on the dynamic organizing principle of opposites which are united in a persona-shadow personality system. Development of an integrated narrative identity can be facilitated by the dialectic between the cultural narrative offered by the psychotherapist and the client's personal narrative.

The occupational specialty of casino employees brings about the problem of long-standing severe emotional exhaustion and stress management challenges. Therefore, it is of great significance to pay attention to their occupational health psychology (Du & Li, in Psych Res 7(1):46-50, 2014). Based on the relevant researches on occupational health psychology of casino employees at home and abroad in recent years, this paper reviews and outlines the previous research results in a systematic way from environmental and occupational, organizational as well as individual dimensions, and figures out the factors that may affect the occupational health psychology of casino employees, and further expounds the psychological and behavioral effects of these factors on employees (including job burnout, organizational commitment, job satisfaction, employees' problematic gambling behavior, etc.), with the purpose of getting a deeper understanding of why occupational health psychology of casino employees can affect customer satisfaction, loyalty and casino profits ultimately. On this basis, three suggestions are put forward for the optimization of human resource management in casinos through the lens of occupational health psychology. In the end, the paper points out some shortcomings of existing studies and the trend for future study that can expand and deepen relevant variables and research subjects that affect the occupational health psychology of casino employees on the basis of comprehensive review.

A random intercept cross-lagged panel model (RI-CLPM) combined with mediation analysis was adopted to determine the relationship between cognitive function and depressive symptoms and the mediating effect of sleep quality on the ascertained cognition–depression relationship.Results: Poorer cognitive function at prior assessment points were significantly associated with severe depressive symptoms at subsequent assessments, and vice versa. Sleep quality partially mediated the prospective relationship of cognition on depressive symptoms, which accounted for 3.92% of the total effect of cognition on depression.Discussion: Cognitive decline may predict subsequent depressive symptoms, and vice versa. The impact of cognition on depression is partially explained by its influence on sleep quality. Multidisciplinary interventions aimed at reducing depression and cognitive decline per se as well as improving sleep quality would be beneficial for emotional well-being and cognitive health in OAs.Keywords: cognitive function, depressive symptoms, sleep quality, random intercept cross-lagged panel model, mediation, Chinese older adults

Li (礼) in Chinese culture is an integrated concept of mind and body. Based on C. G. Jung’s idea of mind-body unity, post-Jungians’ archetypal image schema and Chinese self-cultivation view, the study attempts to construct an archetypal mind-body mutual shaping development model in the hope of providing wisdom and theoretical support for the dynamic mind-body cultivation process through Li and its significance for psychological healing, so as to make Li more contemporary and inherited.

Chinese classical myth of “Yi” has accumulated in the long history as a huge and complex cultural imagery system with three levels. The first is the narrative level of mythological text and image; the second is the interpretation level of multi-leveled meaning through interpretation of Yi’s myth; the third is the application level of transferring and selecting specific meaning or employing/imitating certain narrative elements in different fields to achieve certain purposes. Around the three levels, this paper attempts to explore the psychological significance of superficial signing and underlying symbolism of Yi’s myth with Cultural Representation Theory and C. G. Jung’s Symbolism Theory.

After the sudden outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in China in 2020, the viral disease broke out in most countries around the world, becoming a worldwide health emergency. Throughout the pandemic, people have been compelled to simultaneously grapple with its external challenges as well as the psycho-spiritual consequences. This article focuses on a folk image “Sea-Stabilizing Secret Weapon1” and its clinical application to the frontline workers during the pandemic from Jungian perspective. “Sea-Stabilizing Secret Weapon” is a magical weapon used by the character Monkey King who wields it to subdue demons in his quest to retrieve and protect sacred Buddhist scriptures in the Chinese mythological novel Journey to the West. In this article, we analyze the psychological significance of the image of Sea-Stabilizing Secret Weapon as a psychic portal through which to bring contents of the unconscious into consciousness, and a medium to achieve balance between the I (consciousness) and the psychic world within (the unconscious). We posit that the Sea-Stabilizing Secret Weapon corresponds with Edinger’s ego-Self axis and can be used to unveil the unconscious. The process through which this magical weapon is discovered and used by Monkey King is analogous to the dynamic linking of the ego (the center of consciousness) to the Self (the center of the psyche). Two cases during the pandemic are used to illustrate the application of the image as a therapeutic intervention with the frontline medical staff at the individual and group levels.

This article studies the impact of Kitchen God beliefs and worship on Chinese mentality and behavior, both consciously and unconsciously. At the conscious level, the evolution of the Kitchen God beliefs has gone through four stages; Nature God, Animal God, Half-animal/Half human God, and finally Human God. The evolution of the Kitchen God in China displays the features of a couple, aging and secularization. The experience of “returning to the sacred origin” can be obtained through Kitchen God worship by burning an old paper image of the Kitchen God and pasting of a new one of him beside the kitchen stove year after year during the Kitchen God festival. The secret to continuity of life lies in repetition. The image of the Kitchen God as an important graphic symbol is formed by a constellation of images; good pot and evil pot, two dragons playing with a bead, rooster and dog, the psychological archetypes as yin and yang, unity of opposites, transformation and integration. This ritual serves as a bridge between Chinese people and their “ancestors,” “the other realm” (nirvana), and “the Self.” On an unconscious level, the psychological significance of Kitchen God beliefs is analyzed through “the family hexagram.” The collective unconscious for the Chinese can be revealed by a continuous pattern of concentric circles structure, that is, “heaven and earth—the Kitchen God—ancestors—parents—offspring.” Through a clinical case using Sandplay Therapy, this article will show that Kitchen God imagery unconsciously shows the constellation of “family.” Family is the place of belonging and home for Chinese people, helping the client return to his inner source and gain strength through acceptance and transformation. The implication of Kitchen God beliefs for today’s Chinese society is to return to the most primitive “Tao,” which presents a possible cure for many kinds of psychological problems we are facing. It suggests that researchers pay attention to the psychological phenomenon of clients’ using the Kitchen God image to express their cultural feelings toward family in psychological practice.

This paper through numerical simulation using the conceptual model and the actual block, it has a great influence on the low permeability reservoir of different stratified water permeability combination of permeability technology and application limits, profit and loss balance principle, low oil prices on the lower series of subdivision technical and economic limit, so the reservoir subdivision reorganization, narrow wells mining, reduce the interference between layers, from the maximum fundamental improvement of layered water injection efficiency. At the same time, in order to meet the needs of reservoir subdivision adjustment, subdividing distance with water, a small interlayer wells subdivision technology for further research in the pickup, solved using two ordinary bridge eccentric water regulator with injection of two layers, by throwing exercise distance limit card from the larger problem, the water distribution card size from 7.0m to 1.0m, and the testing efficiency is improved, and provide technical support for further subdivision water injection wells.
