Objective: To investigate the clinicopathological features and prognosis of duodenal-type follicular lymphoma (DFL). Methods: The clinical features, endoscopic appearances, pathological features, and treatments of 17 patients with DFL were retrospectively analyzed and followed up. Results: Among the 17 cases of DFL, there were 8 males and 9 females, with a male-to-female ratio of 1∶1.125. The median age was 58 years (33-67 years). Among them, 13 patients with DFL were found in routine physical examination, and most of them showed granular hyperplasia under endoscopy. Among the cases, 15 (88.2%) occurred in the duodenum, and all were located in the descending part of the duodenum. There were 15 cases of single lesions and 2 cases of multiple lesions. Under the microscope, the lesions were located in the mucosal layer or submucosal layer, with a clear or vague “expansive” growth pattern and visible follicular nodules. The nodules were composed of centrocyte-like cells and scattered centroblast-like cells, equivalent to grade 1 or 2 of classical follicular lymphoma. The tumor cells expressed CD20, CD79a, CD10, BCL6, and BCL2. CD21 staining of 9 cases showed that the follicular dendrite network was densely stained around the neoplastic follicles, but lightly stained and sparse in the center. Ki-67 expression was low. Four cases underwent second-generation gene sequencing, among which three cases had detected CREBBP gene mutations. Fourteen cases did not receive any treatment, and disease did not progress. One case underwent local intestinal segment resection without postoperative chemotherapy or radiotherapy and did not relapse. One case received chemotherapy and rituximab treatment, and the lesion completely disappeared. Conclusions: Most of DFL lesions are single lesions with microscopic manifestations similar to those of typical follicular lymphoma grade 1 or grade 2. The special immunophenotype is CD21, which is often more dense and deeply stained around the neoplastic follicles, and has inert biological behavior.

Abstract Background Pelvic organ prolapse (POP) is seen in up to 30–70% of women presenting for routine gynecology care and 10% of women suffering from bothersome POP symptoms. Vaginal childbirth is one of the most prominent contributing factors for POP. Pelvic muscle training (PFMT) is considered effective to improve mild to moderate POP symptoms. In addition, higher-intensity, supervised PFMT aided by biofeedback and electrical stimulation may confer greater benefit. However, the long-term efficacy of the PFMT combined with electromyography biofeedback is unknown, which indicates the need for further evidence. Methods This multicenter randomized controlled trial compares the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of conventional PFMT versus biofeedback-mediated PFMT plus neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) for postpartum symptomatic POP women. The primary outcome is the proportion of patients with the improvement of at least one POP-Q stage at 36 months after randomization. The primary economic outcome measure is incremental cost per quality-adjusted life year at 36 months. Two hundred seventy-four women from four outpatient medical centers are randomized and followed up with pelvic floor examination, questionnaires, and pelvic ultrasonography imaging. All participants are arranged for three appointments over 12 weeks. NMES and electromyography biofeedback via intravaginal probe are added to PFMT for participants in the biofeedback-mediated PFMT group. Group allocation could not be blinded from participants and healthcare staff that deliver intervention but remain masked from medical staff that carry out PFM assessment. An intention-to-treat analysis of the primary outcome will estimate the difference of the proportion of POP-Q stage improvement between the trial groups right after the intervention, and during the follow-up until 36 months, using the chi-square test and multilevel mixed models respectively. A logistic regression analysis was used for adjusting for important baseline variables that are unbalanced. Discussion The trial results will provide evidence of the effectiveness of electromyography biofeedback-mediated PFMT in improving women’s POP-Q staging, quality of life, and cost-effectiveness. Objective To analyze the clinicopathological features of pancreatic intraductal oncocytic papillary neoplasm (IOPN). Methods Five cases with pancreatic IOPN were in Ruijin Hospital including 3 female and 2 male, and the average age (60.0±10.4) years old. The clinical features combined with gross and microscopic pathology, immunophenotype and prognosis were analyzed. Results Two cases had abdominal pain including 1 case losing 5 kg during the period of 6 months. Three patients were found on physical examination. Pancreatic tumor in 2 cases located at the head, in 3 cases at the head and the body, the neck, and the body, respectively. The test showed serological CA724 elevated in 1 case, and other serological indexes were normal. The gross pathology showed that the tumor was multilocular cystic, cystic solid or solid. The solid area was gray-white, fragile, and the inner wall of the cyst was smooth or with papillary protrusions. The microscopic pathology showed that the tumor was ductal growth with complex branched papillary structure in the capsule. The tumor cells lining the papilla had eosinophilic granules, and the cell was atypia and contained typical nucleolus. Goblet cells could be seen among tumor cells. Mucus secretion was present and without significance. Immunohistochemistry showed cytokeratin 7 positive (3/4), MUC1 and MUC6 positive (4/4), MUC5AC positive (3/3), hepatocyte antigen (Hep Par 1) positive (3/4). CK20 or MUC2 in individual tumor cells were positive and SYN and CgA negative (2/2). There were 4 cased with following-up without recurrence or metastasis in any case. Conclusions IOPN is a rare pancreatic epithelial tumor with low malignancy, which is divided from pancreatic intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms, and has unique clinical and pathological characteristics. Further study with recognition is needed for rare disease of IOPN.

In this paper, we explore different prognostic methods to account for skin sea surface temperature diurnal variations in a coupled ocean–atmosphere regional model of the Mediterranean Sea. Our aim is to characterise the sensitivity of the considered methods with respect to the underlying assumption of how the solar radiation shapes the warm layer of the ocean. All existing prognostic methods truncate solar transmission coefficient at a warm-layer reference depth that is constant in space and time; instead, we implement a new scheme where this latter is estimated from a chlorophyll dataset as the e -folding depth of solar transmission, which thus allows it to vary in space and time depending on seawater's transparency conditions. Comparison against satellite data shows that our new scheme, compared to the one already implemented within the ocean model, improves the spatially averaged diurnal signal, especially during winter, and the seasonally averaged one in spring and autumn, while showing a monthly basin-wide averaged bias smaller than 0.1 K year-round. In April, when most of the drifters' measurements are available, the new scheme mitigates the bias during nighttime, keeping it positive but smaller than 0.12 K during the rest of the monthly averaged day. The new scheme implemented within the ocean model improves the old one by about 0.1 K, particularly during June. All the methods considered here showed differences with respect to objectively analysed profiles confined between 0.5 K during winter and 1 K in summer for both the eastern and the western Mediterranean regions, especially over the uppermost 60 m. The new scheme reduces the RMSE on the top 15 m in the central Mediterranean for summertime months compared to the scheme already implemented within the ocean model. Overall, the surface net total heat flux shows that the use of a skin sea surface temperature (SST) parameterisation brings the budget about 1.5 Wm-2 closer to zero on an annual basis, despite all simulations showing an annual net heat loss from the ocean to the atmosphere. Our "chlorophyll-interactive" method proved to be an effective enhancement of existing methods, its strength relying on an improved physical consistency with the solar extinction implemented in the ocean component. Aiming to strengthen the performance of waste activated sludge digestion, pretreatment is a prerequisite for keeping operations within an industrially acceptable time- frame. In this study, the performance of microaeration coupled with thermophilic (MT) pretreatment on waste activated sludge solubilization and acidification was investigated. The results showed that the maximum soluble organics concentrations, including soluble proteins and carbohydrates, reached 2290 mg COD/L in 24 h when the ventilation rate and temperature were 0.05 vvm and 70 °C. SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) test on pure-culture (E.coli) and scanning electron microscopy analysis indicated that MT pretreatment effectively destroyed microbial cell wall and resulted in an increase in soluble proteins. Polymerase chain reaction-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (PCR-DGGE) analysis revealed that MT pretreatment reduced the diversity of the bacterial community during pretreatment. Along with the dissolution of a large quantity of organic matter, microbial species such as Lactococcus and Methyloversatilis bloomed at the end of acidification period, which contributed to SCFAs production. This study revealed that MT pretreatment facilitated the WAS hydrolysis efficiency and enhanced SCFAs (3149 mg COD/L with fermentation for 96 h) production, especially for acetic acid (50%) accumulation, which provides a new perspective for the application and recovery of sludge resources.

Viruses are the most abundant biological entities on earth and are important components of microbial communities. A metagenome contains all microorganisms from an environmental sample. Correctly identifying viruses from these mixed sequences is critical in viral analyses. It is common to identify long viral sequences, which has already been passed thought pipelines of assembly and binning. Existing deep learning-based methods divide these long sequences into short subsequences and identify them separately. This makes the relationships between them be omitted, leading to poor performance on identifying long viral sequences. In this paper, VirGrapher is proposed to improve the identification performance of long viral sequences by constructing relationships among short subsequences from long ones. VirGrapher see a long sequence as a graph and uses a Graph Convolutional Network (GCN) model to learn multilayer connections between nodes from sequences after a GCN-based node embedding model. VirGrapher achieves a better AUC value and accuracy on validation set, which is better than three benchmark methods. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A simple citric acid (CA)‐ammonium molybdate co‐impregnation method was applied to prepare the Mo‐based MCM‐49 catalyst to ameliorate the dispersion of metallic Mo for methane dehydro‐aromatization reaction (MDA). The newly prepared catalyst has higher crystallinity and maintains the original morphology of zeolite, which proves that the addition of citric acid will not destroy the basic structure of the catalyst. Based on H2‐TPR, UV‐vis, NH3‐TPD and XPS characterization results, it can be corroborated that the introduction of citric acid changes the coordination state of Mo element. Brønsted acid sites can stabilize the monomeric Mo oxide species by increasing MoOx migration into the MCM‐49 zeolite pores channel after calcination, which may affect the distribution of active sites MoCx and thus improve MDA catalytic activity. The experimental results show that the Mo‐based MCM‐49 catalyst with nCA : nMo ratios of 1.0 has higher methane conversion (14.5 %) and aromatics yield (9.8 %). The combination of XPS, TG and Raman tests of the spent catalyst confirms that the newly synthesized catalysts produce less carbon deposition, thus improving the catalytic durability during the MDA reaction.
