Abstract: Using $(2712.4 \pm 14.3) \times 10^6~\psi$(3686) events collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, we search for the hadronic transition $h_c \to \pi^+\pi^-J/\psi$ via $\psi(3686)\to \pi^0 h_c$. No significant signal is observed. We set the most stringent upper limits to date on the branching fractions $\mathcal{B}(\psi(3686)\to \pi^0 h_c)\times\mathcal{B}(h_c\to\pi^+\pi^-J/\psi)$ and $\mathcal{B}(h_c \to \pi^+\pi^-J/\psi)$ at the 90$\%$ confidence level, which are determined to be $6.7\times 10^{-7}$ and $9.4 \times10^{-4}$, respectively.

Abstract: Using $(10087\pm44)\times10^6J/\psi$ events collected with the BESIII detector, we search for the rare decay $J/\psi \to \gamma D^0+c.c.$ for the first time. No obvious signal is observed and the upper limit on the branching fraction is determined to be ${\cal B}(J/\psi \to \gamma D^{0}+c.c.)< 9.1 \times 10^{-8}$ at 90\% confidence level.

Abstract: The PHENIX experiment measured the centrality dependence of two-pion Bose-Einstein correlation functions in $\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}}=200$~GeV Au$+$Au collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider at Brookhaven National Laboratory. The data are well represented by L\'evy-stable source distributions. The extracted source parameters are the correlation-strength parameter $\lambda$, the L\'evy index of stability $\alpha$, and the L\'evy-scale parameter $R$ as a function of transverse mass $m_T$ and centrality. The $\lambda(m_T)$ parameter is constant at larger values of $m_T$, but decreases as $m_T$ decreases. The L\'evy scale parameter $R(m_T)$ decreases with $m_T$ and exhibits proportionality to the length scale of the nuclear overlap region. The L\'evy exponent $\alpha(m_T)$ is independent of $m_T$ within uncertainties in each investigated centrality bin, but shows a clear centrality dependence. At all centralities, the L\'evy exponent $\alpha$ is significantly different from that of Gaussian ($\alpha=2$) or Cauchy ($\alpha=1$) source distributions. Comparisons to the predictions of Monte-Carlo simulations of resonance-decay chains show that in all but the most peripheral centrality class (50%-60%), the obtained results are inconsistent with the measurements, unless a significant reduction of the in-medium mass of the $\eta'$ meson is included. In each centrality class, the best value of the in-medium $\eta'$ mass is compared to the mass of the $\eta$ meson, as well as to several theoretical predictions that consider restoration of $U_A(1)$ symmetry in hot hadronic matter., Comment: 401 authors from 75 institutions, 20 pages, 15 figures, 2 tables. v1 is version submitted to Physical Review C. Abstract: In this work we try to search for signals generated by ultra-heavy dark matter at the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO) data. We look for possible gamma-ray by dark matter annihilation or decay from 16 dwarf spheroidal galaxies in the field of view of LHAASO. Dwarf spheroidal galaxies are among the most promising targets for indirect detection of dark matter which have low fluxes of astrophysical $\gamma$-ray background while large amount of dark matter. By analyzing more than 700 days observational data at LHAASO, no significant dark matter signal from 1 TeV to 1 EeV is detected. Accordingly we derive the most stringent constraints on the ultra-heavy dark matter annihilation cross-section up to EeV. Abstract: High-momentum two-particle correlations are a useful tool for studying jet-quenching effects in the quark-gluon plasma. Angular correlations between neutral-pion triggers and charged hadrons with transverse momenta in the range 4--12~GeV/$c$ and 0.5--7~GeV/$c$, respectively, have been measured by the PHENIX experiment in 2014 for Au$+$Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}}=200$~GeV. Suppression is observed in the yield of high-momentum jet fragments opposite the trigger particle, which indicates jet suppression stemming from in-medium partonic energy loss, while enhancement is observed for low-momentum particles. The ratio and differences between the yield in Au$+$Au collisions and $p$$+$$p$ collisions, $I_{AA}$ and $\Delta_{AA}$, as a function of the trigger-hadron azimuthal separation, $\Delta\phi$, are measured for the first time at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. Abstract: The KM2A is the largest sub-array of the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO). It consists of 5216 electromagnetic particle detectors (EDs) and 1188 muon detectors (MDs). The data recorded by the EDs and MDs are used to reconstruct primary information of cosmic ray and gamma-ray showers. This information is used for physical analysis in gamma-ray astronomy and cosmic ray physics. To ensure the reliability of the LHAASO-KM2A data, a three-level quality control system has been established. It is used to monitor the status of detector units, stability of reconstructed parameters and the performance of the array based on observations of the Crab Nebula and Moon shadow. This paper will introduce the control system and its application on the LHAASO-KM2A data collected from August 2021 to July 2023. During this period, the pointing and angular resolution of the array were stable. From the observations of the Moon shadow and Crab Nebula, the results achieved using the two methods are consistent with each other. According to the observation of the Crab Nebula at energies from 25 TeV to 100 TeV, the time averaged pointing errors are estimated to be $-0.003^{\circ} \pm 0.005^{\circ}$ and $0.001^{\circ} \pm 0.006^{\circ}$ in the R.A. and Dec directions, respectively., Comment: 15 pages, 9 figures

Abstract: The first source catalog of Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory reported the detection of a very-high-energy gamma ray source, 1LHAASO J1219+2915. In this paper a further detailed study of the spectral and temporal behavior of this point-like source have been carried. The best-fit position of the TeV source ($\rm{RA}=185.05^{\circ}\pm0.04^{\circ}$, $\rm{Dec}=29.25^{\circ}\pm0.03^{\circ}$) is compatible with NGC 4278 within $\sim0.03$ degree. Variation analysis shows an indication of the variability at a few months level in the TeV band, which is consistent with low frequency observations. Based on these observations, we report the detection of TeV $\gamma$-ray emissions from this low-luminosity AGN NGC 4278. The observations by LHAASO-WCDA during active period has a significance level of 8.8\,$\sigma$ with best-fit photon spectral index $\varGamma=2.56\pm0.14$ and a flux $f_{1-10\,\rm{TeV}}=(7.0\pm1.1_{\rm{sta}}\pm0.35_{\rm{syst}})\times10^{-13}\,\rm{photons\,cm^{-2}\,s^{-1}}$, or approximately $5\%$ of the Crab Nebula. The discovery of VHE from NGC 4278 indicates that the compact, weak radio jet can efficiently accelerate particles and emit TeV photons., Comment: 11 pages, 5 figures

Abstract: KM2A is one of the main sub-arrays of LHAASO, working on gamma ray astronomy and cosmic ray physics at energies above 10 TeV. Detector simulation is the important foundation for estimating detector performance and data analysis. It is a big challenge to simulate the KM2A detector in the framework of Geant4 due to the need to track numerous photons from a large number of detector units (>6000) with large altitude difference (30 m) and huge coverage (1.3 km^2). In this paper, the design of the KM2A simulation code G4KM2A based on Geant4 is introduced. The process of G4KM2A is optimized mainly in memory consumption to avoid memory overffow. Some simpliffcations are used to signiffcantly speed up the execution of G4KM2A. The running time is reduced by at least 30 times compared to full detector simulation. The particle distributions and the core/angle resolution comparison between simulation and experimental data of the full KM2A array are also presented, which show good agreement.

Abstract: We present the measurements of all-particle energy spectrum and mean logarithmic mass of cosmic rays in the energy range of 0.3-30 PeV using data collected from LHAASO-KM2A between September 2021 and December 2022, which is based on a nearly composition-independent energy reconstruction method, achieving unprecedented accuracy. Our analysis reveals the position of the knee at $3.67 \pm 0.05 \pm 0.15$ PeV. Below the knee, the spectral index is found to be -$2.7413 \pm 0.0004 \pm 0.0050$, while above the knee, it is -$3.128 \pm 0.005 \pm 0.027$, with the sharpness of the transition measured with a statistical error of 2%. The mean logarithmic mass of cosmic rays is almost heavier than helium in the whole measured energy range. It decreases from 1.7 at 0.3 PeV to 1.3 at 3 PeV, representing a 24% decline following a power law with an index of -$0.1200 \pm 0.0003 \pm 0.0341$. This is equivalent to an increase in abundance of light components. Above the knee, the mean logarithmic mass exhibits a power law trend towards heavier components, which is reversal to the behavior observed in the all-particle energy spectrum. Additionally, the knee position and the change in power-law index are approximately the same. These findings suggest that the knee observed in the all-particle spectrum corresponds to the knee of the light component, rather than the medium-heavy components., Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures

Abstract: The interplay among topology, charge-density wave (CDW), and magnetism can give rise to a plethora of exotic quantum phenomena. Recently, a group of magnetic topological semimetals with tetragonal lattices and CDW order were found to exhibit anomalous magnetic instability, helical spin ordering, and the presence of skyrmions. However, the underlying mechanism responsible for these observations remains unclear. Here, we conducted a comprehensive investigation into the impact of CDW on the topological and magnetic properties of EuAl$_4$ using optical spectroscopy and the first-principles calculations. Through optical spectroscopy, we observed a partial gap (60~meV) on the Fermi surface and an enhanced mid-infrared absorption around 0.4~eV after the CDW transition. Magneto-optical spectroscopy and the first-principles calculations proved that, by affecting the band structure, the CDW order frustrates the antiferromagnetic interactions but strengthened the ferromagnetic ones, which can destabilize the magnetism. With lower symmetry in the CDW ordered state, carriers from the Weyl bands will mediate the anisotropic magnetic interactions promoting the formation of chiral spin textures. Conversely, without the CDW order, the counterpart EuGa$_4$ shows robust collinear antiferromagnetic order. Our findings uncover the pivotal role played by CDW order in arousing intricate magnetism in topological materials and provide valuable insights into controlling topological and magnetic properties through the manipulation of CDW orders., Comment: 8 pages, 4 figures

Abstract: For decades, supernova remnants (SNRs) have been considered the prime sources of Galactic Cosmic rays (CRs). But whether SNRs can accelerate CR protons to PeV energies and thus dominate CR flux up to the knee is currently under intensive theoretical and phenomenological debate. The direct test of the ability of SNRs to operate as CR PeVatrons can be provided by ultrahigh-energy (UHE; $E_\gamma \geq 100$~TeV) $\gamma$-rays. In this context, the historical SNR Cassiopeia A (Cas A) is considered one of the most promising target for UHE observations. This paper presents the observation of Cas A and its vicinity by the LHAASO KM2A detector. The exceptional sensitivity of LHAASO KM2A in the UHE band, combined with the young age of Cas A, enabled us to derive stringent model-independent limits on the energy budget of UHE protons and nuclei accelerated by Cas A at any epoch after the explosion. Abstract: The highest energy gamma-rays from gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) have important implications for their radiation mechanism. Here we report for the first time the detection of gamma-rays up to 13 TeV from the brightest GRB 221009A by the Large High Altitude Air-shower Observatory (LHAASO). The LHAASO-KM2A detector registered more than 140 gamma-rays with energies above 3 TeV during 230$-$900s after the trigger. The intrinsic energy spectrum of gamma-rays can be described by a power-law after correcting for extragalactic background light (EBL) absorption. Such a hard spectrum challenges the synchrotron self-Compton (SSC) scenario of relativistic electrons for the afterglow emission above several TeV. Observations of gamma-rays up to 13 TeV from a source with a measured redshift of z=0.151 hints more transparency in intergalactic space than previously expected. Abstract: It is a general notion that disorder, introduced by either chemical substitution or intercalation as well as by electron-irradiation, is detrimental to the realisation of long-range charge-density-wave (CDW) order. We study the disorder-induced suppression of the in-plane CDW orders in the two-dimensional Pd-intercalated ErTe$_3$ compositions, by exploring the real part of the optical conductivity with light polarised along the in-plane $a$ and $c$ axes. Our findings reveal an anisotropic charge dynamics with respect to both incommensurate unidirectional CDW phases of ErTe$_3$, occurring within the $ac$-plane. The anisotropic optical response gets substantially washed out with Pd-intercalation, hand-in-hand with the suppression of both CDW orders. The spectral weight analysis though advances the scenario, for which the CDW phases evolve from a (partially) depleted Fermi surface already above their critical onset temperatures. We therefore argue that the long-range CDW orders of ErTe$_3$ tend to be progressively dwarfed by Pd-intercalation, which favours the presence of short-range CDW segments for both crystallographic directions persisting in a broad temperature ($T$) interval up to the normal state, and being suggestive of precursor effects of the CDW orders as well as possibly coexisting with superconductivity at low $T$., Comment: 16 pages, 17 figures

Abstract: We present the first catalog of very-high energy and ultra-high energy gamma-ray sources detected by the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO). The catalog was compiled using 508 days of data collected by the Water Cherenkov Detector Array (WCDA) from March 2021 to September 2022 and 933 days of data recorded by the Kilometer Squared Array (KM2A) from January 2020 to September 2022. This catalog represents the main result from the most sensitive large coverage gamma-ray survey of the sky above 1 TeV, covering declination from $-$20$^{\circ}$ to 80$^{\circ}$. In total, the catalog contains 90 sources with an extended size smaller than $2^\circ$ and a significance of detection at $> 5\sigma$. Based on our source association criteria, 32 new TeV sources are proposed in this study. Among the 90 sources, 43 sources are detected with ultra-high energy ($E > 100$ TeV) emission at $> 4\sigma$ significance level. Abstract: The diffuse Galactic $\gamma$-ray emission, mainly produced via interactions between cosmic rays and the interstellar medium and/or radiation field, is a very important probe of the distribution, propagation, and interaction of cosmic rays in the Milky Way. In this work we report the measurements of diffuse $\gamma$-rays from the Galactic plane between 10 TeV and 1 PeV energies, with the square kilometer array of the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO). Diffuse emissions from the inner ($15^{\circ}10$~TeV). The energy spectrum in the inner Galaxy regions can be described by a power-law function with an index of $-2.99\pm0.04$, which is different from the curved spectrum as expected from hadronic interactions between locally measured cosmic rays and the line-of-sight integrated gas content. Furthermore, the measured flux is higher by a factor of $\sim3$ than the prediction. A similar spectrum with an index of $-2.99\pm0.07$ is found in the outer Galaxy region, and the absolute flux for $10\lesssim E\lesssim60$ TeV is again higher than the prediction for hadronic cosmic ray interactions. The latitude distributions of the diffuse emission are consistent with the gas distribution, while the longitude distributions show clear deviation from the gas distribution. Abstract: We report a broadband study of the charge dynamics in the van der Waals (vdW) magnetic materials 2H-$M_x$TaS$_2$ ($M$ = Mn and Co), which span the onset of both long-range antiferromagnetic (AFM) and ferromagnetic (FM) order, depending on the intercalation $M$ and its concentration $x$. We discover a spectral weight ($SW$) shift from high to low energy scales for FM compositions, while reversely $SW$ is removed from low towards high spectral energies for AFM compounds. This study aims to evaluate and compare the lipoprotein combine index (LCI) and traditional lipid parameters [total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C)] to identify NAFLD.Patients and Methods: The analysis included 14,251 participants from the NAfld in the Gifu Area, Longitudinal Analysis (NAGALA). Logistic regression models were employed to calculate standardized odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for assessing and comparing the association of LCI and traditional lipid parameters with NAFLD. Additionally, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were used to calculate the area under the curve (AUC) for LCI and traditional lipid parameters in identifying NAFLD.Results: After adjusting for various confounders, we found that LCI was positively associated with NAFLD (OR=2.25, 95% CI 1.92– 2.63), and this association was stronger than that of traditional lipid parameters [OR: TC1.23, TG1.73 LDL-C1.10]. Further subgroup analyses revealed that the association of LCI with NAFLD was stronger than other traditional lipid parameters in all subgroups, including men and women, overweight/obese [body mass index (BMI)≥ 25 kg/m2] and non-obese (BMI< 25 kg/m2), and older (age≥ 45 years) and younger (age< 45 years) participants. Additionally, ROC analysis indicated that LCI (AUC=0.8118) had significantly higher accuracy (All DeLong P< 0.05) in identifying NAFLD compared to traditional lipid parameters (AUC: TC0.6309; TG0.7969; LDL-C0.6941); HDL-C0.7587). Sensitivity analysis further confirmed the robustness of the study findings.Conclusion: This study revealed for the first time a positive correlation between LCI and NAFLD. Compared to traditional lipid parameters, LCI has a higher correlation with NAFLD. However, their effects on patients with normal ovarian response during such procedures are unclear, which formed the aim of this study.Methods: This retrospective study enrolled 456 infertile women who underwent in vitro fertilization or intracytoplasmic sperm injection treatment. Group 1 received FSH; Group 2 received FSH+HMG/r-LH; Group 3 received FSH+HMG+r-LH.Results: The age and Body Mass Index were significantly greater in Group III. The endometrial thickness was greater in Groups II and III, suggesting better endometrial receptivity. Better pregnancy and birth outcomes were seen in Group 3. Male infertility has been a serious health and social problem. The sperm cell driven biohybrid nanorobot opens a new era for automated and precise assisted reproduction. Therefore, it is urgent and necessary to conduct an updated review and perspective from the viewpoints of the researchers and clinicians in the field of reproductive medicine. In the present review, we first update the current classification, design, control and applications of various spermbots. Then, by a comprehensive summary of the functional features of sperm cells, the journey of sperms to the oocyte, and sperm-related dysfunctions, we provide a systematic guidance to further improve the design of spermbots. Focusing on the translation of spermbots into clinical practice, we point out that the main challenges are biocompatibility, effectiveness, and ethical issues. Considering the special requirements of assisted reproduction, we also propose the three laws for the clinical usage of spermbots: good genetics, gentle operation and no contamination. Finally, a three-step roadmap is proposed to achieve the goal of clinical translation. We believe that spermbot-based treatments can be validated and approved for in vitro clinical usage in the near future. However, multi-center and multi-disciplinary collaborations are needed to further promote the translation of spermbots into in vivo clinical applications. While exosomes derived from human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (HucMSC-Exo) have emerged as a promising therapeutic tool, their exact mechanisms of action remain partly elusive. We hypothesize that HucMSC-Exo treatment may modulate neutrophil phenotypes, thereby significantly influencing wound healing outcomes.Methods: HucMSC-Exo were isolated via ultracentrifugation and subsequently administered through subcutaneous injection into full-thickness cutaneous wounds in mice. To determine the impact of host neutrophils on the healing effects of HucMSC-Exo in skin injuries, strategies including neutrophil depletion and adoptive transfer were employed. Flow cytometry was used to evaluate the proportion of N2 subtype neutrophils in both normal and diabetic wounds, and the effect of HucMSC-Exo on this proportion was assessed. Furthermore, the mitochondrial metabolic reprogramming driven by HucMSC-Exo during N2 polarization was investigated through JC1 staining, ATP quantification, fatty acid uptake assays, and assessment of FAO-related genes (Cpt1b, Acadm, and Acadl).Results: Depleting host neutrophils strikingly dampened prohealing effect of HucMSC-Exo on skin injury, while adoptive transfer of bone marrow neutrophils rescued this process. During normal healing process, some neutrophils expressed N2 markers, in contrast, diabetic wounds exhibited a reduced expression of N2 markers. After treatment with HucMSC-Exo, most neutrophils increased the phosphorylation of STAT6, leading to mitochondrial metabolic reprogramming and thus acquired an N2 phenotype. These N2 neutrophils, polarized by HucMSC-Exo, boosted the release of proangiogenic factors, particularly BV8, a myeloid cell-derived proangiogenic factor, and induced angiogenesis thereby favoring tissue restoration.Conclusion: This research uniquely demonstrates the identification of N2 neutrophils in skin injury and shows that HucMSC-Exo could skew neutrophils toward N2 phenotype, enhancing our insight into how cells react to HucMSC-Exo. Abstract: Flux tunability is an important engineering resource for superconducting circuits. Large-scale quantum computers based on flux-tunable superconducting circuits face the problem of flux crosstalk, which needs to be accurately calibrated to realize high-fidelity quantum operations. Typical calibration methods either assume that circuit elements can be effectively decoupled and simple models can be applied, or require a large amount of data. Such methods become ineffective as the system size increases and circuit interactions become stronger. Here we propose a new method for calibrating flux crosstalk, which is independent of the underlying circuit model. Using the fundamental property that superconducting circuits respond periodically to external fluxes, crosstalk calibration of N flux channels can be treated as N independent optimization problems, with the objective functions being the periodicity of a measured signal depending on the compensation parameters. We demonstrate this method on a small-scale quantum annealing circuit based on superconducting flux qubits, achieving comparable accuracy with previous methods. We also show that the objective function usually has a nearly convex landscape, allowing efficient optimization.

Abstract: The Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO) has three sub-arrays, KM2A, WCDA and WFCTA. The flux variations of cosmic ray air showers were studied by analyzing the KM2A data during the thunderstorm on 10 June 2021. The number of shower events that meet the trigger conditions increases significantly in atmospheric electric fields, with maximum fractional increase of 20%. The variations of trigger rates (increases or decreases) are found to be strongly dependent on the primary zenith angle. The flux of secondary particles increases significantly, following a similar trend with that of the shower events. To better understand the observed behavior, Monte Carlo simulations are performed with CORSIKA and G4KM2A (a code based on GEANT4). We find that the experimental data (in saturated negative fields) are in good agreement with simulations, assuming the presence of a uniform upward electric field of 700 V/cm with a thickness of 1500 m in the atmosphere above the observation level. Due to the acceleration/deceleration and deflection by the atmospheric electric field, the number of secondary particles with energy above the detector threshold is modified, resulting in the changes in shower detection rate., Comment: 18 pages, 11 figures

The primary contributor to LBP is often identified as intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD), which worsens and leads to significant spinal problems. The conventional treatment approach for IVDD involves physiotherapy, drug therapy for pain management, and, in severe cases, surgery. However, none of these treatments address the underlying cause of the condition, meaning that they cannot fundamentally reverse IVDD or restore the mechanical function of the spine. Nanotechnology and regenerative medicine have made significant advancements in the field of healthcare, particularly in the area of nanodrug delivery systems (NDDSs). These approaches have demonstrated significant potential in enhancing the efficacy of IVDD treatments by providing benefits such as high biocompatibility, biodegradability, precise drug delivery to targeted areas, prolonged drug release, and improved therapeutic results. The advancements in different NDDSs designed for delivering various genes, cells, proteins and therapeutic drugs have opened up new opportunities for effectively addressing IVDD. This comprehensive review provides a consolidated overview of the recent advancements in the use of NDDSs for the treatment of IVDD. It emphasizes the potential of these systems in overcoming the challenges associated with this condition. As extensive research on CAR-T therapies has been conducted, various challenges have emerged that significantly hampered their clinical application, including tumor recurrence, CAR-T cell exhaustion, and cytokine release syndrome (CRS). To overcome the hurdles of CAR-T therapy in clinical treatment, cell-free emerging therapies based on exosomes derived from CAR-T cells have been developed as an effective and promising alternative approach. In this review, we present CAR-T cell-based therapies for the treatment of tumors, including the features and benefits of CAR-T therapies, the limitations that exist in this field, and the measures taken to overcome them. Furthermore, we discuss the notable benefits of utilizing exosomes released from CAR-T cells in tumor treatment and anticipate potential issues in clinical trials. Lastly, drawing from previous research on exosomes from CAR-T cells and the characteristics of exosomes, we propose strategies to overcome these restrictions. Several studies have compared HAIC and Transarterial chemoembolization (TACE). However, comparisons between TACE plus HAIC and HAIC are rarely reported. Here, we evaluated the performance of HepaSphere DEB-TACE combined with HAIC (Hepa-HAIC) compared to HAIC in patients with advanced HCC.Patients and Methods: In this retrospective study, we enrolled 167 patients diagnosed with advanced HCC and treated at Peking University Cancer Hospital from May 2018 to May 2022. The cohort comprised 74 patients who received HepaSphere DEB-TACE combined with HAIC-FOLFOX (Hepa-HAIC) and 93 patients who received HAIC-FOLFOX. Over 60% of patients received prior treatments. To avoid selection bias, propensity score matching was applied to the efficacy and safety analyses. The primary endpoints are progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS); the secondary endpoints include objective response rate (ORR), disease control rate (DCR), and safety.Results: Propensity-matching yielded 48 pairs, and group baselines were almost equal after matching. Median PFS and median OS were both higher in the matched Hepa-HAIC cohort (median PFS: 8.9 vs 5.8 months, p = 0.035; median OS: 22.4 vs 9.5 months, p = 0.027), which was consistent with pre-matching analysis. The ORR in the Hepa-HAIC and HAIC cohorts was 75.0% and 37.5%, respectively; the DCR was 93.8% after Hepa-HAIC and 81.3% after HAIC. There was no treatment-related death. Grade 3– 4 ALT elevation was more frequent in the Hepa-HAIC group (33.3% vs 8.3%, p = 0.003), while vomiting was more frequent in the HAIC group (29.2% vs 12.5%, p = 0.084).Conclusion: The Hepa-HAIC group is superior to the HAIC group in metrics of PFS, OS, ORR, and DCR, which indicates the combination of HepaSphere DEB-TACE and HAIC may lead to improved outcomes with a comparable safety profile in advanced HCC.Keywords: transarterial chemoembolization, advanced hepatocellular carcinoma, hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy, propensity score matching

Treatment of most cancers remains challenging, despite the implementation of diverse therapies in clinical practice. In recent years, research on the mechanism of ferroptosis has presented novel perspectives for cancer treatment. Ferroptosis is a regulated cell death process caused by lipid peroxidation of membrane unsaturated fatty acids catalyzed by iron ions. The rapid development of bio-nanotechnology has generated considerable interest in exploiting iron-induced cell death as a new therapeutic target against cancer. This article provides a comprehensive overview of recent advancements at the intersection of iron-induced cell death and bionanotechnology. In this respect, the mechanism of iron-induced cell death and its relation to cancer are summarized. Furthermore, the feasibility of a nano-drug delivery system based on iron-induced cell death for cancer treatment is introduced and analyzed. Secondly, strategies for inducing iron-induced cell death using nanodrug delivery technology are discussed, including promoting Fenton reactions, inhibiting glutathione peroxidase 4, reducing low glutathione levels, and inhibiting system Xc−. Additionally, the article explores the potential of combined treatment strategies involving iron-induced cell death and bionanotechnology. NTR patients were defined as those exceeding the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) criteria at the time of recurrence. Cox regression analysis was employed to identify preoperative factors associated with NTR based on clinical and tumor imaging characteristics. A risk scoring model (NTRScore) was developed and validated.Results: Among the 253 patients, 86 (33.9%) experienced recurrence, and among those with recurrence, 34 patients (39.5%) developed NTR. In multivariate analysis, factors associated with NTR included alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) [> 10 ng/mL] [HR: 3.42, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.54– 7.63, P: 0.003], arterial phase hyperenhancement (APHE) [HR: 2.23, 95% CI: 1.03– 4.81, P: 0.041], washout[HR: 0.35, 95% CI: 0.15– 0.84, P: 0.019], and capsule [HR: 0.44, 95% CI: 0.22– 0.88, P: 0.021]. The β-coefficients of these variables were utilized to develop the weighted NTRScore(c-index 0.72, 95% CI: 0.65– 0.79). The NTR occurrence increased across the three categories (low: 5.6%, medium: 13.6%, high: 35.1%, p < 0.001), and the Kaplan-Meier curves of recurrence-free survival(RFS) and overall survival(OS) show significant differences (p = 0.004 and p< 0.001). Furthermore, the higher NTR categories may be associated with an increased risk of extrahepatic recurrence.Conclusion: The NTRScore demonstrated strong discriminatory ability and may serve as a clinically useful tool to assist in risk stratification and potential to guide treatment and optimal surveillance for patients of solitary hepatocellular carcinoma within UCSF criteria.Keywords: hepatocellular carcinoma, salvage liver transplantation, non-transplantable recurrence, treatment, prognosis

Herein, we report the clinical and genomic characteristics of a clinical L. monocytogenes ST120 isolate recovered from a pregnant woman.Methods: The clinical symptoms and treatment in pregnant woman were described in detail. Whole genome sequencing (WGS) was performed on the L. monocytogenes isolate SJZ_LM001, and the genomic characterization of the isolate was deeply analyzed.Results: The clinical symptoms in pregnant women were mainly fever, and the placenta experienced severe inflammation. The pregnant woman was treated with ampicillin for effective anti-infective therapy. Genomic analysis showed that isolate SJZ_LM001 is sequence type (ST) 120, belong to clonal complex (CC)8 and lineage II of L. monocytogenes. Additionally, the isolates SJZ_LM001 harbored a novel plasmid pSJZ_LM001, which carried arsenical resistance genes (arsACD and acr3), and cadmium resistance genes (cadAC). Drug susceptibility testing showed that the isolate SJZ-LM001 was susceptible to ampicillin, meropenem, penicillin, and cotrimoxazole.Conclusion: This is the first to identify a clinical case of infection in a pregnant woman caused by ST120 L. monocytogenes in China. These findings could benefit our understanding of the genomic characteristics of L. monocytogenes, and the pregnancy-related listeriosis and providing early diagnosis and effective targeted treatment.Keywords: Listeria monocytogenes, whole genome sequence, ST120, plasmid

However, the underlying pathogenesis remains unclear and there is a dearth of reliable diagnostic biomarkers.Objective: The aim of this study was to identify diagnostic biomarkers for SLs and reveal its immunological features.Methods: In this study, gene expression profiling datasets (GSE192564 and GSE192565) of SLs were obtained from the GEO database. The GSE192564 was used as the training group for screening of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and subsequent depth analysis. Gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) was employed to explore the biological states associated with SLs. The weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) was employed to identify the significant modules and hub genes. Then, the feature genes were further screened by the overlapping of hub genes and up-regulated differential genes. Subsequently, an artificial neural network was constructed for identifying SLs samples. The GSE192565 was used as the test group for validation of feature genes expression level and the model’s classification performance. Furthermore, we conducted immune cell infiltration analysis to reveal the immune infiltration landscape of SLs.Results: The 9 feature genes were identified as diagnostic biomarkers for SLs in this study. And an artificial neural network based on diagnostic biomarkers was successfully constructed for identification of SLs. GSEA highlighted potential role of immune system in pathogenesis of SLs. SLs samples had a higher proportion of several immune cells, including activated CD8 T cell, dendritic cell, myeloid-derived suppressor cell and so on. Abstract: We present a spectral study of the black hole candidate MAXI J1348-630 during its 2019 outburst, based on monitoring observations with Insight-HXMT and Swift. Throughout the outburst, the spectra are well fitted with power-law plus disk-blackbody components. In the soft-intermediate and soft states, we observed the canonical relation L ~ T_in^4 between disk luminosity L and peak colour temperature T_in, with a constant inner radius R_in (traditionally identified with the innermost stable circular orbit). At other stages of the outburst cycle, the behaviour is more unusual, inconsistent with the canonical outburst evolution of black hole transients. In particular, during the hard rise, the apparent inner radius is smaller than in the soft state (and increasing), and the peak colour temperature is higher (and decreasing). This anomalous behaviour is found even when we model the spectra with self-consistent Comptonization models, which take into account the up-scattering of photons from the disk component into the power-law component. To explain both those anomalous trends at the same time, we suggest that the hardening factor for the inner disk emission was larger than the canonical value of ~1.7 at the beginning of the outburst. A more physical trend of radii and temperature evolution requires a hardening factor evolving from ~3.5 at the beginning of the hard state to ~1.7 in the hard intermediate state. This could be evidence that the inner disk was in the process of condensing from the hot, optically thin medium and had not yet reached a sufficiently high optical depth for its emission spectrum to be described by the standard optically-thick disk solution., Comment: 20 pages, 10 figures, 4 tables, accepted by ApJ

Abstract: A novel methodology for calculating the surface energy of a disordered material was developed and is described here. The method was used to calculate the range of surface energies for {100}, {110}, {111}, and {112} type facets of the disordered rock salt (DRX) cathode material Li2MnO2F, as a function of surface cation and anion decoration. Boltzmann averaging was used to determine average surface energies for each facet which were then used to calculate the equilibrium particle shape. It was found that Li2MnO2F displays predominantly {100} type lithium/fluorine-rich facets favoring a cubic particle shape. The density of states along with electronic structure-based bonding analyses are calculated to rationalize differences observed in surface energy. Importantly, it is found that surface lithium and fluorine lower the surface energy of the majority facets, suggesting that surfaces of Li2MnO2F are likely enriched in lithium and fluorine and display less oxygen and manganese, which has implications for capacity and rate retention.

Though albuminuria and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) are helpful for the diagnosis of DKD, the lack of specific biomarkers reduces the efficiency of therapeutic interventions.Methods: Based on bulk-seq of 56 urine samples collected at different time points (including 11 acquired from DKD patients and 11 from healthy controls), in corporation of scRNA-seq data of urine samples and snRNA-seq data of renal punctures from DKD patients (retrieved from NCBI GEO Omnibus), urine-kidney specific genes were identified by Multiple Biological Information methods.Results: Forty urine-kidney specific genes/differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified to be highly related to kidney injury and proteinuria for the DKD patients. Most of these genes participate in regulating glucagon and apoptosis, among which, urinary PART1 (mainly derived from distal tubular cells) and PLA2R1 (podocyte cell surface marker) could be used together for the early diagnosis of DKD. Moreover, urinary PART1 was significantly associated with multiple clinical indicators, and remained stable over time in urine.Conclusion: Urinary PART1 and PLA2R1 could be shed lights on the discovery and development of non-invasive diagnostic method for DKD, especially in early stages. 45. Campaign Governance and Partnerships: Unraveling COVID-19 Vaccine Promotion Efforts in China’s Neighborhoods

Therefore, the Chinese state created collaborative infrastructures of COVID-19 vaccine promotion programs to promote stakeholder engagement and unload the burden of policy practitioners. However, partnerships in COVID-19 vaccine promotion programs have been underrepresented.Methods: To address this lacuna, we qualitatively explored how partnerships in the COVID-19 vaccine promotion campaign (CVPC) were organized in China’s neighborhoods. Specifically, we recruited participants via personal networks, referrals from acquaintances, and snowballing approaches, and conducted the qualitative thematic analysis following interviews with 62 Chinese stakeholders.Results: This study indicates that to promote partnerships in CVPCs, neighborhood managers formed leadership in CVPCs, expanded the collaborative network, trained Health Promotion Practitioners (HPPs), and coordinated with HPPs to shape partnership agreements, produced COVID-19 vaccine promotional materials and advertised COVID-19 vaccines via diverse media tools. Although coproduction of CVPCs to a certain extent promoted state-society interaction in neighborhoods and state responsiveness to public demands, partners’ disagreements on strategies applied by states for promoting COVID-19 vaccines eroded partnerships in CVPCs.Conclusion: To construct a robust partnership in CVPCs, depoliticizing CVPCs and creating shared values among stakeholders in CVPCs are expected. The mental health of researchers is a significant concern worldwide. This study investigated the mental health status of Chinese researchers specifically and explored the moderating effects of perceived stress on the influence of low self-accomplishment on anxiety and depression.Methods: The online survey platform “Survey Star” was used to create a questionnaire to be distributed to researchers, with 949 questionnaires retrieved. The general information questionnaire, 10-item Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10), Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7), Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), and Maslach Burnout Inventory General Survey (MBI-GS) were used for this investigation. Pearson’s correlation analysis was performed to investigate correlations among the relevant variables. Model 8 of PROCESS 3.3 program was used to analyze the moderating effects of perceived stress.Results: Among the 949 participants, 570 (60.1%) reported symptoms of depression and 431 (45.4%) had symptoms of anxiety, with about one in six reporting symptoms of self-harm or suicidal ideation. Perceived stress was found to moderate the effect of low self-accomplishment on depression and anxiety.Conclusion: Here we show that researchers exhibit a high rate of depression and anxiety symptoms. Perceived stress is also shown to play a moderating role on the influence of low self-accomplishment on anxiety and depression. 47. Investigations on Cmc2$_1$-Si$_2$P$_2$X structures and physical properties by first-principles calculations

Abstract: The new structures, Cmc2$_1$-Si$_2$P$_2$X (X=S, Se, Te, and Po), are predicted, and their mechanical, electronic and optical properties are investigated with the density functional theory, by first principles calculations. The elastic constants of the four compounds are calculated by the stress-strain method. The calculations of the elastic stability criteria and phonon dispersion spectra imply that they are mechanically and dynamically stable at zero pressure. The mechanical parameters, such as shear moduli $G$, bulk moduli $B$, Young's moduli $E$ and Poisson's ratios $v$ are evaluated by the Voigt-Reuss-Hill approach. The Cmc2$_1$-Si$_2$P$_2$X has the largest hardness due to the largest Young's modulus in the four compounds, and it is a covalent crystal. The anisotropies of their mechanical properties are also analyzed. The band structures and densities of states, which are calculated by using HSE06, show that Cmc2$_1$-Si$_2$P$_2$X compounds are indirect bandgap semiconductors, and the values of the band gaps decrease with increasing atomic number from S, Se, Te, to Po. In addition, the longitudinal sound velocity and transverse sound velocity for Cmc2$_1$-Si$_2$P$_2$X have been investigated. The dielectric constant, electron energy loss, refractive index, reflectivity, absorption and conductivity are analyzed to gain the optical properties of Si$_2$P$_2$X., Comment: 14 pages, 6 figures, 5 tables

Abstract: The Crab pulsar and the surrounding nebula powered by the pulsar's rotational energy through the formation and termination of a relativistic electron-positron wind is a bright source of gamma-rays carrying crucial information about this complex conglomerate. We report the detection of $\gamma$-rays with a spectrum showing gradual steepening over three energy decades, from $5\times 10^{-4}$ to $1.1$ petaelectronvolt (PeV). The ultra-high-energy photons exhibit the presence of a PeV electron accelerator (a pevatron) with an acceleration rate exceeding 15% of the absolute theoretical limit. Assuming that unpulsed $\gamma$-rays are produced at the termination of the pulsar's wind, we constrain the pevatron's size, between $0.025$ and $0.1$ pc, and the magnetic field $\approx 110 \mu$G. The production rate of PeV electrons, $2.5 \times 10^{36}$ erg $\rm s^{-1}$, constitutes 0.5% of the pulsar's spin-down luminosity, although we do not exclude a non-negligible contribution of PeV protons to the production of the highest energy $\gamma$-rays., Comment: 43 pages, 13 figures, 2 tables; Published in Science

Abstract: The PHENIX collaboration presents a systematic study of $\pi^0$ production from $p$$+$$p$, $p$$+$Al, $p$$+$Au, $d$$+$Au, and $^{3}$He$+$Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}}=200$ GeV. Measurements were performed with different centrality selections as well as the total inelastic, 0%--100%, selection for all collision systems. For 0%--100% collisions, the nuclear modification factors, $R_{xA}$, are consistent with unity for $p_T$ above 8 GeV/$c$, but exhibit an enhancement in peripheral collisions and a suppression in central collisions. The enhancement and suppression characteristics are similar for all systems for the same centrality class. It is shown that for high-$p_T$-$\pi^0$ production, the nucleons in the $d$ and $^3$He interact mostly independently with the Au nucleus and that the counter intuitive centrality dependence is likely due to a physical correlation between multiplicity and the presence of a hard scattering process. These observations disfavor models where parton energy loss has a significant contribution to nuclear modifications in small systems. Nuclear modifications at lower $p_T$ resemble the Cronin effect -- an increase followed by a peak in central or inelastic collisions and a plateau in peripheral collisions. The peak height has a characteristic ordering by system size as $p$$+$Au $>$ $d$$+$Au $>$ $^{3}$He$+$Au $>$ $p$$+$Al. For collisions with Au ions, current calculations based on initial state cold nuclear matter effects result in the opposite order, suggesting the presence of other contributions to nuclear modifications, in particular at lower $p_T$., Comment: 554 authors from 81 institutions, 21 pages, 13 figures, and 3 tables. Abstract: The Born cross sections of $e^{+}e^{-}\to \Sigma^{0}\bar{\Sigma}^{0}$ are measured at center-of-mass energies from $2.3864$ to $3.0200$ GeV using data samples with an integrated luminosity of $328.5$ pb$^{-1}$ collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider. The analysis makes use of a novel reconstruction method for energies near production threshold, while a single-tag method is employed at other center-of-mass energies. The measured cross sections are consistent with earlier results from BaBar, with a substantially improved precision. The cross-section lineshape can be well described by a perturbative QCD-driven energy function. In addition, the effective form factors of the $\Sigma^{0}$ baryon are determined.
